Yeah that game waaaay prefers nvidia
im going to proboably run some tests run the 3090 when i get it to hopefully see some diffrences
its the ftw3
yo how do i add the discount code?
All the ftw3 models are triple 8 so you're good there
whould i give it the 8 pin plus 8 in or just give them all seprete ones?
Ideally 3 separate
okim running the 8 pin plus 8 pin through a cable extention on my rx 6800 rn i know thats bad to do
The 6800 doesn't use quite as much power so it's a little more acceptable
The 3090 on the other hand can push 450W+
damn
i paid 400 for it
On the front page there should be some coupons you can claim
thanmks
hey btw is there any micro atx cases
i could fit in the budget
I feel like a matx mb in that case is gonna look awkward
It should look fine, but one sec
i mean if you think so then ill leave it
That would be fine if it fits everything
And its up to you, but a lot of people do matx in atx cases
G300a is also on the smaller end of atx
yea ill just keep it, i also added some fan splitters just in case because there is about 5 fans in the build
Sounds good, and yeah fan splitters will be handy
why is my new graphics card not recognized my monitar
just keeps saying no singal and wont boot on
How to clear CMOS (works for AMD and Intel)
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000025368/processors.html
Defines CMOS technology and how to clear CMOS using the jumper or battery methods.
And make sure the monitor is on the right input
And make double sure the power is in fully to the GPU
No that's about right, they're selling about $425-450 on ebay and that's including fees, so without fees $400 is fair
let me clarify. the monitar works and then once i put it on sleep mode the monitar wont come back on until i restart
@potent portal
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
yo btw will i need a rgb hub of any sort to work the cpu fan(different brand), case fans (two different brands), led strip
1.This 4 pin RGB hub can extend any 12V addressable RGB products simultaneously, while only taking up one RGB header on your motherboard. 2. Note:This hub is only compatible with 4pin 12V addressable RGB headers or controllers. not connect to 5V RGB components, making sure the arrows on connector...
if i buy something like that can i connect a 3 pin to the 4 pins?
3 pin and 4 pin RGB are not compatible in any way
They run on different voltage and signal patterns
it would just fry it
You can usually safely chain about 5 fans, maybe 6 depending
from diff brands?
Is evga gd600 good
Which one, there's a few versions
2017, 2019, V3, R3, V, R1, all different GD versions
A 4070 is a 4070 so if I can save 168 bucks still $168
I never said it was bad, go for it
I saw some used 4070 ti's for the same price on ebay though
2017
C tier
$400 for a 4070 sounds like a great price/perf with current pricing
Also is there a cheap mobo for ryzen 3600 and wifi
Yeah
If you can buy off tiktok b450 ds3h wifi I think is cheap but there might be cheaper
Not on tiktok I'd have to check
Would this be good for cheap movo too? ASRock B450M/AC R2.0 AM4 AMD Promontory B450 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard https://a.co/d/1Vmn5FD
But should be around $80 for any b450 with wifi
I'd do this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kRTzK8/msi-b450m-pro-vdh-max-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b450m-pro-vdh-max
Ok
Same one on tt shop would be like $52 or so after coupon?
Ok thank you!
are the arctic p12 max good?
They're loud, which takes away one of the main reasons we recommended the normal p12 fans
They bring a lot of airflow, theyre worth it if that's what you need
I have them and they're only louder at higher rpms, if you run them at the p12's max rpm (around 1500 or 1800 rpm I forgot) they're almost silent
So then why pay more for them if you're only going to run them at lower rpm anyway
^
So at that same room are the normal ones the same loudness
$10 for a fan that reaches 3000 rpm is overpriced?
in terms of noise
it's loud
but if you specifically want high rpm, it's not a bad deal
i just want airflow
This guy says the kraken elite cools his 5800x3d fine
He doesn't say what size but I'm guessing it's the 360mm. And that review reads like a bot wrote it.
yea its the 360mm
Ive got a 280mm Kraken (the older model) on my 5800x, works just fine
I see no reason why the 360 wouldnt be a solid choice as well with the newer design
It's expensive asetek
And middling performance
And if you're going to change the fans then you may half address the performance but it* makes it even more so expensive
So there's just no point
7950x3d, 5800x3d I would use only dual towers now, with the knowledge I'm armed with, especially 7000x3d
You can do basically any cooler and get almost the exact same result on a 7000x3d
Man I am excited for Black Friday.
industrial noctuas
3x the price
That didn’t seem to fix the issue yesterday
I've been on Newegg for an hour now trying to find a power supply+ 2tb SSD combo that isn't 400 bucks and I'm failing lol
I gotta be missing something with the black Friday deals
how much did you wanna spend
cos unless that psu is a 1500W then 400 for both is ridiculous
A 750w would be more than enough
But I was hoping to come across another $200 deal like I did awhile back but I haven't found one yet
probably looking at about 180-ish or less
no I can beat 200
easy
what cpu and gpu aare you using
Part List
that's $175 and both solid
I gotta basic batch bronze level gpu and a 1070ti 😅. Which is also starting to get long in the fang and I've been looking to replace
oh then this is fine
if you're buyiing up to 750w then I would gauge your purchase based on what you intend to replace the gpu/cpu with
ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 7600 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 x8 ATX Video Card RX7600 CL 8GO
Is the GPU ive been eyeballing
But I need the GPU and SSD first
what cpu are you planning to run with this
cos really any desktop cpu in existence could run on a 750w with that gpu
I've got a I5-105000 or something like that atm
I mean for 175 I'll just spend the extra couple bucks and get the 750 then not worry about it ever again lol
That would just leave a new GPU and monitor cause lawd I swear both of mine are starting to leak oil they're so old
If you want to sure, but like
you wouldn't even be using half
maybe not even a third of the psu with a 10500 and 7600
better to pocket that and save it for when you upgrade the lot later imo
I'm aware. But i plan to upgrade my various other bits a piece at a time. I gotta space it all out based on my income, so if I can buy something like a good PSU once for a little extra and not have to worry about it later, I'd prefer to do that
maybe go up to a better gpu then for a bit more in that case
you'd have leftover budget for it
$370
I'm still learning about the various gpus and how they compare. I just know the one I've been looking at is equal to a 2070super
I see
I've just been eyeing the 2070super and its equals cause with the games I play it'll really be all I need for awhile. Plus I don't even have a monitor that'll make good use of it yet, which is why I haven't bothered.
how much would you spend on the monitor
Not sure yet. I'm still looking up details about them and important aspects. I want a 27 inch. Last one I looked at was around the 180 mark
hm
27 inch I would consider 1440p
and a 7600 kinda doesn't scratch up to that
the other gpus I recommended do
and a good 27" you'd be probably looking near mid 200's for a solid one
Part List - Radeon RX 6700 XT
reason I push this is because 1080p at 27 inches looks quite blurry at normal distances
so I'd suggest going with a 24" for 1080p or go up to 1440p if you want a nice experience
This is just the one I threw in my wishlist forever ago
You said mid 200s lol
and it's 1440p so a 7600 I would definitely not do
for good 1440p yes
and then I found a tuf one above for 189
which I believe is good
If you're able to buy off tiktok shop, 2tb p41 plus, m371, or p34a60
【1440P Gaming Monitor 144Hz & G-Sync Compatible】This new 27 inch 144Hz computer gaming monitor with 1ms super fast response time and G-SYNC compatibility for a tear-free experience & low latency, immersive in the gaming world, designed for FPS / RTS. This 1440p 144hz HDMI & DP PC gaming monitor is compatibl
That would be a better choice
You know what's funny is I looked at that earlier
I've never heard the name before though so wasn't sure
high input lag
wouldn't
That ASUS TUFF is 188 at best buy...that's not bad
yes and it's ips
but a 7600 wouldn't fair well with any 1440p display in modern games*, just a warning
upgrade to a 6700xt at a minimum if you want a good 27" imo
Oh this is nice https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qcxRsY/lg-27gn800-b-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-27gn800-b
that's a decent one yeah
Prolly gonna be better deals on bf/cm though, monitors one of the main things that goes on sale
Bad techie
Black Friday cyber monday
Cyber monday, black ftiday
Smh Felix just move
Lg is best deal right now not including tiktok shop
Anything I recommend on tiktok is sold and shipped by neweg btw
I mean i like LG products in general so no complaints here
You could get the same one for $150 after a coupon with tt shop btw
I don't even have tiktok
if it saves you $35 it's a little bit worth it
I wish I had the extra money, ive only got enough for the PSU and SSD regardless
you could chuck that straight at the 6700xt
The biggest thing right now is need vs want. I need the psu and ssd since my psu is on the fritz and my ssd is fried
Though also
Rm750e is like $60 on tiktok after coupon, if not less
A tier psu, can run a 4090 on it
Then there's good quality 2tb ssds for like $40-50 after coupon
And 1tb for around $25-30
No shot?
I got one of the ssds myself, p41 plus for $34 and some change after tax
But that was a better deal than normal and didn't last long
Now it's like $45 after coupon before tax, but one sec I'll send a few screenshots of options
P41 plus is the best among the three
And then there's a 20% coupon
Maybe a 25% I'm not sure
The MSI spatim is the one I've been looking at. 79 on Amazon
Solid ssd, though I think p3 2tb is on sale for $67 rn
For same perf
Wait so do I have to register as a seller to buy stuff?
That plus the corsair 750 come sto 109...holy shizniy
Let me check for monitors lol
As a side note
Order them separately, you should have more coupons you can claim on the front page
I've got a 30% order coupon atm
Up to $20 off tho, which $18 will come off the ssd
Should have another 30%, 25%, 20%, and 15%
Yoooo
That's among the best 1440p 144-180hz monitors
Would be $170 after coupon
Haha the Pro version. Even $220 would be great. Wow! Ok who says I should maybe sell the 12600K & get 12700K instead, for only gaming& some streaming? --- don't worry Rommy, 12400 isn't being sold
Mines showing 249 before coupon
ah alr
eh i say no
@mossy venture after coupon brings it down to 199
ah there might be better options then
the lg one i linked earlier is on tt shop as well
i think for 185 before coupon
so around 140 or so after
Any of these three would be good
ok i gopt the 3090 but i only had 2 8pin
I'll prpbly grab the LG or gigabyte tbh. After looking at it I recognize the LG monitor now, my buddy has one and it's nice
Eh brand doesn't matter too much, but the acer is the worst of those three
will it hurt the gpu if i only have 2 8 pins instead of 3
like i have all 3 plugged in
just i had to use a 8 pin that was on a 8 pin if you know what i mean
all 3 are not on there own 8 pin
Ohhh
I thought you meant the model was 2x8pin
Nah that's fine, but if you can change it down the line I would
The transients are no joke, putting too much stress on one cable isn't the best idea with a 3090
Ah look into Lunar's undervolting guide & then I wouldn't worry about not using a full 3rd "cable". 3 cables to my 3080 though, cleaner than seeing the curve of a pigtail is mainly why I did.
Fair
Think Va panel at !70HZ is worth over IPS at 144hz?
depends on the monitors
ASUS TUF VG27AQA1A vs LG 27GL83A-B
second all the way
apparently no one in English reviewed the VG27AqA1A
alright then
thx
oh son of a: the M27q is cheaper now!!!
after I bought the lg
Can I kill it if I don’t use the full 3rd cable
Why is it when I shut my pc off and I when I go to turn it back on the pc turns on but the monitor doesn’t turn on and I have to click the restart button on my pc for to event turn back on
Update bios
Or roll back a version
I did that already one of the first things I did
Is it fine for the gpu to run 77-80 degrees?
those are the temps i get whil eplaying half life alyx on my vr
i might switch it down to 120 fps instead of 144fps
Not awful but not the best
Though with a 3090 isn't surprising
Check vram Temps
Hotspot/vram temps are the only temps worth checking on a gpu
hot spot max was 88
where are vrm temps
mem 1 mem 2 mem 3?
hotteset was 76
That all sounds fine
bro i cant even spell
ok i was just wondering i thought i t ran a bit cooler its not even a 100 percent
Ampere throttle down iirc is 83C
It's a bit on the edge but
It will automatically*** clock down if it hits it
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yTdtQP What gpu should i get
That's normal
ok im pretty sure the 12600k is a bottleneck
You could do a wayyyy better build for that budget
or a little bit of one
Alr what's your full budget
Mayb like 1800-2000
yeah
Do you own any of this
I do not
Just monitor
Ok ye can do a lot better
Alr I'll look
I'll probably still use my old mouse & keyboard for now
Also follow up question
Would you be willing to order anything off tiktok shop? It would be shipped and sold by newegg
Also POG rank up
I could yeah
Ok dope, few min
Felix got you with the rest of the list, I'll grab you tiktok parts
bacca or felix quick question, what's the best 7800xt on newegg https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=7800xt
alr thanks
like for cooling, cheapest one if you could
@naive flint
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lqdfh3
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
@mossy venture can you check tiktok for discounts on this to get under 2k
Like M27Q-P should be $60 off of the total
It should get quite a bit under 2K with tiktok deals, but this is basically as good as your budget could possibly get
Probably have some extra left over to bump up to 850W on the psu
Two options on ram
There's additional coupons you get to bring prices down further
Might have to use multiple accounts to get as low prices as possible
Yeah most of that should adjust it down to well under 2K
I wouldnt get that 27q tho, one sec
The only thing that would improve this list is honestly a 4090 @naive flint and those are 2K+ on their own rn
I know
It's a placeholder
Cos I can't see tiktok
Either of these two
Yes thanks
Isn't that itx
Ah
golly the rtx 3090 can heat up some glass
Did you check vram temps?
The cheapest. Don't hesitate like last time
yeah they were all good according to felix
Dope
alr alr, cause i'm trying to figure out how the cash back works
does it calculate before or after tax?
;-;
Before
but im going to turn down the index to 120 fps and turn down the graphics so my room doesent go to 90 degrees
At 1080p probs, or really light games
Like overwatch for example
what about 1440p
Not really
ok well i guess cyberpunk is just a cpu intensive game
Oh yeah the new update made it so
12100f tuned b die is fine with 3090
Like grossly cpu bound
Wait Vader what ram you got
we dont talk about ram
Lol
Ah
qick or reference/sapphires are tied rn
Sapphire
thats what i prob need to upgrade next
Pulse #1
what about compared to merc?
alr
considering pulse is 509.99 + 10$ coupon
user friendly?
Yes
They bake 1000 features in I've never seen on an nvidia card that just make them so easy to work with
100% would recommend sapphire
They use ptm7950 for paste
Proper paid and shrink wrapped cabling
Easy access plugs and pcie slot
Removable fans without taking the whole thing apart
Software controllable bios toggle so no need to open up the pc or reach out the back
Mobo sync for rgb on the card
The list goes on and on
I could talk all day about this
When you pay extra for a sapphire you GET the extra you paid for
Not just fanfare like a strix for example
Still recommending it
but ya that's just a preference thing
Sapphire and xfx are the goat amd brands
ASRock as well whenever an oc formula exists
im pretty sure something else was running ion the background when i closed half life it was still at 52 percent
gpu utilization
@pseudo pollen Hey, just wanted to say thanks for helping me out with a part list a while back. Finally got home and set it up, only issue was a faulty power button on the case so I'm taking that as a win hahaha
oh yeah, no problem man, glad to help
Hey guys, I was asked to help in making a gaming PC. My directions are a max. of $1.5k for the PC and max $300 for the monitor, but less is also appreciated.
This is what I came up with: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/scGw7R
Would love to hear some opinions/thoughts.
It’s for the American market and I‘m German so I pretty much only went off of pcpp‘s listed prices which should be fine, right?
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
There's a German pcpartpicker
What are you using the pc for?
And is this list for an upgrade from your existing pc?
It’s for an American person. I know there is German pcpp
It’s purely for gaming and entirely new
Ahh ok
There’s nothing to be upgraded
Ok then I'd change it up a bit
Would the person be willing to buy anything off of tiktok shop? Shipped and sold by newegg
that I do not know without asking
Could you ask? Tiktok has some great deals atm
Would make a pretty significant performance difference, could fit an XTX in budget
Interesting, can you tell me more
Yeah, so newegg currently has a promotion for up to 25% off items listed on tiktok
And in addition, tiktok has coupons that give you up to $50 off
Oh wow
So you can get a 7600 for $150
I'll grab you a list, but I got some questions first
Are aesthetics a factor? Do they need wifi?
Does size of the case matter?
Aesthetics aren‘t too important. Like, the North isn’t really necessary, I don’t think. Regarding wifi, I’m actually unsure, which ik makes it a bit vague.
Case size doesn’t matter
Alright that's enough to work with, I'll grab two options for mobo one w/o wifi one with
The only thing that isn't on tiktok shop is the gpu https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XzCKcH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
For monitor either https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TdbRsY/hp-omen-27qs-270-2560-x-1440-240-hz-monitor-omen-27qs or I'll grab a couple options from tiktok
This would be good
Just asked, WiFi isn’t needed
Then b650 hdv is great
Also as a heads up, those prices are estimates. It'll actually likely be cheaper
And tiktok thingies are fine if it’s Newegg lol
Yup I’ve made the same experiences in Germany
Actually can just about fit xtx in budget not with tiktok
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WLjhKX
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Just more expensive and case is a bit worse
Also as a heads up, might need to use a few different accounts to get as low prices as possible on tiktok
Huh okay…
And probably separate orders for a lot of the parts, since the coupons are limited to at most $50 off
Basically every account gets a 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30% off coupon up to $50 off
I see
This is what it looks like I’m going to try and get cable extension
Took my original black extensions out
Those 8 pins look horrifying
Well, thanks for your help @mossy venture
Np! If you've any questions feel free to ping me
Bruh there is nothing I can do
Thanks!
I was just trying to get it in there and working
No I get it lol, just temporary anyways
You don’t wanna see the cable management on the back
Mine is worse I promise you
It’s the push down and screw
I think I broke the from led light argb cable or it’s unplugged one of those but to lazy to check rn
Why is it when I shut my pc off and I when I go to turn it back on the pc turns on but the monitor doesn’t turn on and I have to click the restart button on my pc for to event turn back on
Do you mean how they look or just how I don’t have 3 8 pins and have to use spider
Spliter
Anyone know how I can fix it
Tried clearing cmos?
It could be boot priority too maybe
I’ve done that
All good
Could possibly be a faulty stick
How do u do this
Well you probably didn't turn xmp on in the first place then, which is a separate issue
It's in bios, it enables ram to run at its rated speed
I'd check boot priority while you're in bios too and make sure it's set right
Oh yeah I did change it then
It was only running at 4000 something so I switch it to 6000
@mossy venture hey quick question, 451.37 good price for a sapphire pulse?
7800xt version
4800 prolly. Could try disabling it and see if that fixes it
Yes, I'm assuming after tax?
Also
My old pc did the same thing like 1/5 boots. It'd stay at a black screen and I'd have to turn it off to fix it
I was told bios was the issue I just never bothered to fix it
Pretty sure I did because I switch it to 6000 what it’s meant to be at
Yeah mine won’t turn on endless I click the reboot button on my pc
No yeah, I mean switching it back to 4800
Oh
wallpaper engine use about 40 percent of the 3090 that could be why it was running kinda hot
would I even need a gpu stand for my 7800xt sapphire pulse
Wallpaper engine is funny
Eh
I was planning on getting one for the merc
I haven't used one in the three years I've had my 3060 ti, but the other argument is you're spending $460 on a gpu
cause it was a long ol card
So why risk it
450
Can get one for like $10
I did the math wrong
ya it's 10$
Or just diy one
pop figure 💀
Lowkey
Wait
You gave me an idea
I'm going to see if I can use a funko pop for mine
ive seen people use pop figures or even random legos
I have like three I hope one is the right size
I'm checking this rn
My Deadpool one might fit
oh?
Sorry my cat got outside and it's raining so he was very unhappy I'm back now
It would fit but with the box, which would block airflow
So prob not
I have a beerus that might
Nahhh too tall, but I can have it sitting next to the gpu
Or on the gpu
@mossy venture it didn’t fix the issue
You checked boot priority?
Which setting is this in the bios
Cause I did change it back to 4800
What brand mobo again?
Beerus is now trapped inside my pc
Msi b650 tomahawk
Hey guys so I have a quick question. I have a 3900x clocked at 4.4ghz all core and a 2080 super at 1080p 144hz and 32gb ddr4 3666 ram. I recently purchased a 4080 and im most games im only getting about 15 to 30 frames higher. Could I be bottlenecking my 4080 with the 3900x? And if so should I upgrade my cpu to a ryzen 5800x3d or go to a 7800x3d?
3900x is certainly a bottleneck
However are you still playing at 1080p?
Yes im still playing at 1080p
If so, I would recommend a cpu upgrade as well as a monitor upgrade
Using a 4080 for 1080p is like buying a race car for a golf course
Not the best analogy but yknow what I mean
Do you have a general idea of what you'd want to spend?
Well I only upgraded cause I wanted to get steady 144fps on ultra settings on the games I play and even with ultra settings im still not getting a constant 144fps, but I was hoping not do a full pc upgrade. So should I go to something lower like a 4070 or 4060ti?
Yea I only game on it maybe every once in a blue moon stream to twitch but thats about it
Also would you be open to ordering off tiktok shop? Anything id recommend off of tiktok is shipped and sold by newegg, so it's reliable
Alright, so you could return the 4080 and get a 7900xtx for $920, it's slightly better than the 4080. Also, if you use a promotion Microsoft has going on right now, you get 15% back site wide on newegg
So can either return it and rebuy a 4080 and get 15% back, or return it and get a different gpu and still get 15% back
Imo xtx would be the best option
With the cash back, can get one for $782
But even with a 4070 ti, you'd want an upgrade from a 3900x
Especially if you stayed at 1080p
Right now is a great time to upgrade though, with tiktok shop you can get a 7600 for $150, motherboard for $90 or so, and ram for $75 or so
If you got the xtx with cash back, I'm fairly sure the gpu+ cpu mobo and ram would cost about the same as just the 4080
So say if I wanted to go a bit cheaper would I be benefiting if I upgraded my 3900x to a 5800x3d and just stick with the mb and ram I have now?
Not really, you'd be better off selling that and just going 7600
7600 at $150 mobo at $90, $240 and ram is 70 or so, so $310. 5800x3d at its cheapest is around $290
So sell mobo+ram as well and it ends up noticeably cheaper, as well as you have an upgrade path and a slightly better cpu (7600>5800x3d)
Though if you're trying to avoid building a pc from scratch
That wouldn't be a terrible idea. If you have a microcenter nearby, 5600x3d would be good
I do have a microcenter near me like 30 mins away
Even upgrading cpu though I'd still recommend a monitor upgrade as well, you can get a solid one around $150-200
I believe they have 5600x3d for $180?
That would be decent
Overall the 7600 would be a better deal but if you're trying to avoid building essentially from scratch, that'd be the best option
Ok last question, Should I just return the 4080, put my 2080 super back in and upgrade just the cpu to either 5600x3d and 5800x3d? Just wondering if that would be a cheaper and better option.
It looks nicer
Well that kinda depends on you and what games you play
I called them they saud they can't do anything
At 1080p, the 4080 is extremely overkill
You'd likely see more of a frame rate boost with the 5600x3d than you would the 4080
Yea im kind of thinking the sme thing
Or you can wait and just do a full system upgrade, since 5600x3d is more like delaying the issue than solving it
Ok ill think about this one and make my decision
Since when you upgrade gpu, anything around a 4080 tier gpu would be pushing it on that cpu
If you've any other questions feel free to ping me, though I might be going to sleep soonish
If I don't respond tonight I'll 100% respond in the morning
Ok thank you much!
Np!
Could the reason its running a little toasty be because he said the original owner replaced thermal pads
Potentially
You could try redoing it
How could I do it
and would i have to order new ones
Yes
And felix or someone else would be better fitted to explain how to do it
I've never even seen it done
How much do they cost
the p12s are quiet and loud\
From my experience they were always pretty quiet
You think it’s fine if I @ him?
Idt he minds, but could be sleeping
Ok it’s fine if I don’t get a response I’ll just wait till tomorrow
@potent portal Bacca said the thermal pads on my “new” 3090 could be the reason why my temps are high could you give me a link or something on where to get new ones?it’s a evga 3090 ftw3 v2
mine get loud at max
Every fan does
but mine at first had like zap sounds
Not really a fan you can’t hear that’s on max
I heard 3 zaps
Wdym zaps
idk
a weird noise when it would increase speed
imagine putting a piece of plastic on a fan blade while spinning
Probably bearings how long have you had them
bought them today
new to pcs and building but im planning on getting one, been looking at prebuilts and this is what ive somewhat settled on https://www.newegg.com/skytech-st-azure2-0890-b-ne/p/3D5-000Z-00171?nm_mc=AFC-RAN-COM&cm_mmc=afc-ran-com-_-Future+Publishing+Ltd&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=afc-ran-com-_-Future+Publishing+Ltd&utm_source=afc-Future+Publishing+Ltd&AFFID=2294204&AFFNAME=Future+Publishing+Ltd&ACRID=1&ASUBID=pcg-us-8393898542188835000&ASID=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pcgamer.com%2F&ranMID=44583&ranEAID=2294204&ranSiteID=kXQk6.ivFEQ-lN2is6xeAxYB3eJTnx3MGQ
was told its better to build myself but idk anything about parts and dont wanna mess anything up 😭
I'm gonna take a look at other options, any reason you chose specifically that one?
@stray lance
Any recommendations for a prebuilt around the $2K mark?
Build your own
specs line up with what i sorta want, i9 13900 with a 4090
and i dont know anything so 😭
honestly i can go by with a 4080 build, since with the 4090 i need to spend much more to get monitors that pair with it
Are you just gaming?
gaming/streaming and gonna use it as my main desktop too
Wdym main desktop? Do you do any demanding workstation things like video editing, blender or anything along those lines?
currently no but i want to be open to it
Do you plan to specifically use blender or Adobe suite at all?
probably adoble after effects if anything
I'd go for a 13600k or 14600k then, the i9 beats them by about 3-5% in gaming while costing a few hundred extra
https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Daily-Deal-VR-i5K I'd do this build with the screen shot of customizations I'm about to send
Sorry the case name isn't shown well
Or cooler
Those two
what about for workstation demands like editing
Kinda depends, if it's "entry level" stuff then it won't matter, but if you're doing demanding tasks it would make a noticeably difference
14700k has 4 less ecores than the 13900k/14900k, it's not a huge difference
I'd say that's a good middleground
i see, most other recommendations ive gotten was for the ryzen uh 7800 x3d was it
as a replacement for the i9 on gaming
I'd also check to see if any of your softwares need an nvidia gpu, since if not 7900xtx slightly beats the 4080 in gaming and is $300 cheaper on cyberpower
The 7800x3d is good for gaming, loses in multi core to 13600k/14600k
7900x3d would be what I'd go for for a mix of both on amds end
One sec I'll customize an amd option
personally im more of an nvidia/intel fan simply bc im more familiar with them over AMD, just pure personal pref
okayy
I think i7 is good you don't need it to be i9
i just uh, dont want to deal with bottleneck, something ive heard
Oh also there's an extra rebate for $70 off I didn't see before
The 4080 is fine with a 7600 at 1440p, the term bottleneck is kinda useless the way a lot of people use it
im thinking more 4k 120hz, is the main monitor i want to pair
Any pc will have a bottleneck, it's impossible not to have one. In this case, the 13600k vs 14900k compared side by side with a 4080 in gaming it's near identical
4k depends less on the cpu then
4090 is fine with a 7600 at 4k
Higher resolution means more load on gpu, since it's more pixels being rendered
And since the gpu is rendering more pixels it's giving less frames, so the cpu doesn't have to work as hard to allow the gpu to do what it's doing
Sorry if I'm overexplaining or explaining badly I'm really tired
its okayy im sorta tired too haha
i understand
most of it
just doing some browsing before bed, probably gonna run to microcenter again on black friday and get another build sheet
Same case and cooler as the other one
This isn't bad https://newegg.io/05ae53a
Alr last one then I'm going to bed I gotta work in the morning https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6553001.p?skuId=6553001
Gn!
This could be your chance to learn then
I was a lot more confident initially, but I’m realizing there’s a lot of nuances to it that really intimidate me
If something as seemingly innocuous as static energy through my fingertips can damage stuff…… idk!
The brass pins on motherboards also seem to be delicate
That’s nearly impossible to actually kill a pc component with static electricity
Just plop the cpu in and your good
Maybe I’m too apprehensive!
I think you should build it yourself then when you look at it in all of its glory you can say you did that
I was thinking of getting a prebuilt through costco so i have the option of returning it, or paying a computer store to assemble the parts for me
Haha yeah that seems rewarding!
They will probably overcharge
Probably a couple hundred dollars yeah
Yeah not worth it
The first build is always the most rewarding, when you see the post screen it’s pretty great
Yeah
Not to undersell the difficulty but it’s basically adult legos
Yeah and it will stick with you for life
Ok how to build a pc and replace a part or troubleshoot
What’s wrong
That’s what i was told so at the start i thought oh i grew up building legos i got this in the bag! But my friends scared me away given how i barely know anything about pc
Your doubting your potential
Lol most likely
You definitely should build it yourself imo you will have custom parts to your liking
Everything is labeled and generally has one way it can fit in the case or motherboard honestly it’s almost easier then legos
Customizing a build has also been a painstaking experience..! I’m trying to work out a great build with no more than $2k and it’s looking unfeasible the more i look into it 🥲
Hardest and most dangerous part is putting in the cpu, just risking bent pins
Yeah tbh look at a bunch of building videos
2k is enough for a pretty killer build
When you order all of your parts so you will be ready
Do you have any aesthetic preferences?
I’ll throw something together fast, I don’t do it to often
Like rgb/no rgb tacky or tasteful clean or busy, most important is just case preference tbh
Also have the option of most bang for your buck
Not even esthetics!
Here are the specs i want
Gpu— i want it ending in 7 or 8 and Ti
Cpu— i7 or i9, and i want it ending in k, not kf preferably. Liquid cooling if possible, but I’ve been told air cooling is fine.
Motherboard— a brand name feels more reliable
Ram— 16 min, 32 plenty
Ssd— 1 tb min
Psu— no less than gold
Like here’s a build from Bacca earlier
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Do you know what you want to do with the pc?
Or do you want me to ride the edge of the budget
Play games and not have to worry about upgrades in the near future, while at the same time having good upgrade potential to where i won’t have to bend over backwards and swap lotsa things to make an upgrade work
No blender or adobe?
There’s ALREADY too many moving parts as is, so compatibility is important too
And do you want like raytracing
Not into that at the moment, no!
Any plans to?
Idk what that is! Lol!!
None so far?
Ah it’s some fancy tech that Nvidia does well at
Lots of games releasing have been taking advantage of it
Gimme like 10 minutes lol
Omg take your time! As long as you need
i like my i7 4820k
yes
Goatjo will come back
Well
haven’t built a pc list in a minute. If you have tiktok you could probably get some crazy discounted items but I came up with two lists so far with room for changes to looks cooling w.e https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wJVRz6 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WkLKcH
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
Nvidia cards
You could easily get away with a 13600k for gaming, I honesty would suggest it over the 13700k
@flint sapphire newegg cashback exists
also
cpu's are heavily on sale on newegg tt shop
Feel free to add or make corrections
alr let me cook rq
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6d9PKX before tax
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks NV5 ATX Mid Tower
time to cook w another
btw the g360a would be the same price as the nv5 as it's the same price on tt shop.
Ah was trying to rmbr deep cool
Without tiktok here’s a fancy case version 👀 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mPFyVW
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4080, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
that's the 4080 one
can't work

I believe clearance for front radiator and gpu would interfere
Yeah it won’t max is 325
no
My b
30mm rad
if you wanna go fancy though, nzxt n9 I think?
Just In case I looked up how big the rad was; it’s 27mm so close
Is there any deals on tiktok for like a 4090
nope, newegg has 15% cashback though microsoft edge
Eh
excludes any promos
Maybe could fit it in
Issue is 4090s are up around 2k now
Due to the export ban or whatever to China
Hol up
Price back to normal? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TvpzK8/pny-xlr8-gaming-verto-epic-x-rgb-oc-geforce-rtx-4090-24-gb-video-card-vcg409024tfxxpb1-o
Hey thanks a ton! I passed out last night but I’m excited to check these builds out
np, again theres some killer deals on tiktok which u can see in sky's lists
Note that to get the good TikTok deals you'll have to make multiple accounts (one per part) and maybe use a vpn
Interesting! I barely use tiktok. Where would i find those deals at?
On TikTok go to the Newegg account and then the shop tab
Hey chat looking to get a graphics card for my son's pc. This set up has been running pretty good for two years but I do want to upgrade it . Recommendations on parts for black Friday
How much to spend?
gonna need a ram upgrade as well
CPU also no?
anything i can do better?
Might be a bit overkill though since I plan on using it for stuff like fn and r6
Im pretty sure you can find a better aio for the same price and do you already have the 2080ti?
or are you buying it used or something
Use frozen notte for the aio or if you wanna save use air cooler
I've seen a few used for around the same price
Yeah i thought so too but idk what else to get instead
7600 should be fine
can definitely do better than this
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
i think you should go atx just for maybe future
depending on the kind of games you want to play
ATX is a dying form factor
multi gpu is dead
he said fn and r6
then the 7800xt one would be better
R6 especially cpu bound
you'll be running close to the 600 fps cap anyway
itx >>>
it'll also look cleaner
I like small build
(for costing basically nothing)
I carry it anywhere
@limber crown
yeah, you won't need kryo, rather kryo is old news
a 7800x3d can work on a stock amd box cooler, and yet it doesn't ship with one
if you need thermal paste, consider arctic mx-6
basically the same results but doesn't dry out after 6 months/1 year and costs like a third as much
Should I wait for Friday to do shopping for pc or should I just do it today?
Is this a good pc for my friend max budget is 1500 he usually just plays r6 fn and like apex.I kinda just stole your build felix https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mmnJt7
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Uh
I would upgrade gpu, not the other stuff
@south cliff
The other stuff gives a grand 0% performance boost where as going up to a 7900xt would be huge
This is ideal
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vmffh3
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
ok thanks
Could also do better with tt shop
How's the solidigm p41 plus 512gb?
Good but depends on price
$27
too expensive
I think you can get a 1tb ssd for around $30-35ish
On tiktok shop, depending on the account, you can get 2tb for under $40 if you're lucky
Sorry im not getting tiktok lol
Unless you'd use 1tb, that's the best priced 500gb you'll get
Aside from tik tok shop
Im used to paying much more for 512gb since i havent bought nvmes for a while so i think $27 isnt too bad
Just mediocre pricing compared to 1tb/2tb
Also until like a month ago if not less, we could consistently get 1tb for $25-36
And 2tb for $55-75
Again not with tiktok. I got my p41 plus 2tb for $35 after tax
Also an m450 1tb for $25
Depending on the model psu, a good 650 could handle it
Honestly a good 550 likely could, with a low wattage cpu
I would say 95/5 odds a 4080 with 7800x3d runs on a 550w rmx
I'd say 100% unless it's defective
4080 is easier to run than a 3080
and 7800x3d is an 80w cpu in prime95
Don’t think my 850 is enough watts though
not sure about rm550x but rm650x has OPP set at 124%
850w is definitely enough lol
unless you're running full load on an insane cpu setup
oced xeon w9/TR under a water chiller maybe
if you are trying hard enough you can get a 4080 to run games on a 300w psu
wouldn't actually recommend going below 650 though
maybe higher depending on cpu
750w is enough to run 14900k + 4080 no problem
@earnest olive the thing is says on the box u need 850 minimum and I only got 750 and when I shut the pc down and I click the button to turn my pc back on and it won’t turn on endless I click the reboot button on my pc so there’s not enough power I called gigabyte and they also said I don’t have enough power of 750
...you know how much a 4080 draws at idle?
mine draws 10 watts
if it's not turning on that's a different issue entirely
manufacturers put extremely high recommendations for the power supply capacity because
- they can't guess what cpu you're going to pair it with
- they can't guess if you actually have a quality unit
- they want to reduce customer support costs
you're free to believe them if you want, but don't ping me to waste my time if my answer doesn't matter to you
Do you guys have an idea of how much cheaper stuff will be on Friday rather than today?
A bit. It’ll be on Monday for tech items btw (a bit as in I have no clue but there should be some decent sales)
Honestly I’ve been waiting for to long and I kind of want to build it whine I’m on thanksgiving break. All the tech deals for Black Friday are already here I’m assuming? Because I see a lot
What’s the issue because I’ve try every video and everything people have said and nothing seems to work
Not trying to bother u I believe u it’s just weird about how my pc in doing this
theres a ton of early deals, yeah. Typically theres a crazy deal or 2 on friday or monday
Obviously I’m not going to listen to those clowns
Dang I might miss out .. it’s okay
it's not bad but at this point 12400f is probably cheap enough to be worth it
Yeah I got it for 90 dollars
good, because they are just trying to line their pockets by avoiding helping you
Exactly
But do u have any idea of what the problem could be though?
sometimes hardware fails and the only solution is replacement/repair
the 12400f? or 12100f
Are u talking about the reason why my pc won’t turn on after I shut it down
No like I’ll click shut down and I’ll wait a little bit to turn it back on and it legit will not turn back on the pc is running it won’t turn on but if I click the reboot button on my pc it will turn back on it’s super werid I’ve tried a lot of things and for some reason it’s still not working
Lmk if u got any ideas or anything that I can try to fix it
do you ever turn it on with the power button? or only the reset button
did you accidentally wire power_sw header to the reset button?
Like I click the power button the pc turns on but my monitor doesn’t turn on just no signal
Just check I didn’t everything is correct on the headers
what cpu do you have
Ryzen 7 7800x3d
I'd try removing the graphics card and seeing if the PC boots normally with the integrated graphics
It’s a problem with the graphics card it’s like not recognizing the display port and if I plug the display port into the mobo it works perfectly fine
But when I put in the graphics card it doesn’t recognize it
welp
keep sending tickets to gigabyte I guess
if they keep giving you the same excuse maybe threaten to go to gamers nexus or something
Dead port?
Can you try another port if the gpu has it
Small for all
???
ok i contacted corsair i can get a 8 pin pcie for like 4 dollars but no white version
but thats fine
12100f
Wait can i put 3 8 pin pcie in the rm 850 i only 2 2 dedicated ones
I’ll im going to have to use the pig tail till the 3rd pcie comes in
Bro auto correct is so bad
i used to do the bottom one on my 6800
Hey, I'm looking at buying a prebuilt pc for around 2900USD for a friend, does anyone have recommendations
What is the pc being used for
Gaming, the new Ark is pretty much the top end of what it would be used for
I'd get a build off cyberpowerpc, one min
boop
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
4090 price is meh, I know
alternatively
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
All good, I'm just sending it as a prebuilt because it wouldn't work otherwise
Long distance
