Wz is mostly CPU intensive.
its the best case
No shot you just called wz2 well made lmao
i use an external 1080mm rad
It's so unoptimized
its not
it was a separate statement
not implying wz is well made
You guys think the 7950x3D is worth $60 over 13900k?
Depends on you
If you want to focus on multi core performance/workstation tasks, 13900k, still a kick ass cpu for gaming ofc
absolutely not
unless youre like a sadist or smth
and enjoy manually disabling half your cpu for games
7950x3d if you want to sacrifice some multi core perf to have ~10% better gaming perf
Should also factor in mobo and cooler prices btw
one a little more finnicky but potentially better perf depending
13900k basically needs atleast a 280mm aio, and that's on the lower end
I like to tune, but also I do a lot of Adobe AE, Premier, and etc along with Blender nowadays.
if you like tuning 100% go 13900k imo
13900k
esp if you mess with ram
I have a LS720 in push/pull.
Gotcha, I already have the contact frame so I was debating which to go now that AMD is more expensive.
Picked up the frame for like $5.
ye youre already set up for it and it has more tunability so just makes sende
also better for the tasks you listed
eh
Noticable increase to power bill?
With ln2 ocing, which you'd need more than an lt720 for, it can get to like 500w+
im undervolted and at stock clocks 4.7 ring i dont go above 320w like ever
including in linpack, vst, etc.
You'd probably sit around or under 425w without a uv
but that's unrealistic anyway
for gaming its like sub 200w always even in high usage games
^ or maybe less idk
just move to the best country duh (sarcasm)
My 13600k pulled 315w since my motherboard decided to unlock pl limit off the rip
Until I undervolted it
Lmao.
optimal
Was hitting 100c instantly in r23 multi core
Under a 280mm aio
jesus wtf
Set it to 1.325v and all good now
you might need better paste
13900K and ram tuned competes with 7950x3D and ram tuned right?
was this 315w pout or package power?
usually beats
No I don't, it was entirely the motherboard feeding it too much power
except in games that LOVE x3d
yeah but 100c at 315w is really bad
It was feeding it power until it hit its thermal limit, it would've done higher if I had better cooling
Like Simulators right?
i have a dying x63 and it cools better than that
No it isnt?
itd depend
13900k and 13600k are different cpus
what sims are you talking about
Yes the 13900k is typically hotter but the heat is spread out differently
yeah sure
It sits around 40-45c in games
but 100c is mad excessive
I play mostly Ark, Halo, MW2, and Minecraft.
thats like +15-20c
And now is around 80c at 240w in r23 multi core
MW2 the 13900k will win esp in lows
Well, it did. I need to put a contact frame on now, since it's warped a bit
i think halo too? my friend did some tests on that a while ago
idk about ark and mc though
Now it's hitting 96c in r23 due to 13th gen being silly goofy
I've a contact frame I just need to actually put it on
MC likes whatever has best singlecore.
Doesn't really care for extra cache.
then yeah 100%
Loves ram though.
yeah me too but cba
just waiting to go direct die
sounds like itd love a 13900k
trooly
Intel tends to be the way to go for consistency
imo you should
unless the MSRP is really bad at launch its like
why wouldnt you wait a week or two more yk
thing is you can run 7950x3d on 125 bucks boards tho
cheap z boards does exist, so do keep in mind for those lel
he wants to tune it
then intel it is
Asus z690 plus wifi is fine and is $160 rn
I was planning on spending around $250 for a decent board either way for tuning and also I need the M.2 slots.
Absolute most I'd spend on a board https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9B2WGX/msi-mag-z790-tomahawk-wifi-atx-lga1700-motherboard-mag-z790-tomahawk-wifi
pls no
spend the premium on an aorus elite
msi 4 dimmers just cant compete with gigabytes rn
?
bioses affect ddr5 a lot
gigabyte makes the best 2 dimm per channel bioses rn
by far
nobody really competes with them
some aorus elites can run ddr5-8000 daily with good imcs
Isn't 4 dimms of DDR5 a bad idea?
yeah
It's not as bad as it used to be but it's still worse than two sticks
i meant 2dpc as in the board not how many sticks
cuz all non itx boards at that price range will be 2dpc
So go with Gigabyte if I plan to tune?
yeah for that price range
nothing beats the aorus elite
unless you can get like an MSI ITX board or smth but they dont come that cheap generally
Not going ITX.
yeah then its bar none the best in that range easily
I need at least 3 preferably 4 M.2 slots.
for tunability while still having reasonable features/i/o
it has 4
I see.
all 2280 form factor ofc
Definitely considering it though are there any other good aesthetic options?
yes
i would never go asus for 2dpc if i cared about tuning
youd be OK on msi though
not sure what aesthetic options they have but would be alright
Will probably do Gigabytes however MSI is tempting as they have some nice looking boards for much cheaper.
what boards?
true
but are they better than the p12?
Very similar
Felix knows the exact comparison
that does seem like a pretty good deal
what if i get them off tiktok shop
Idk what they're priced at on tt shop
and the lightbar is acting weird it turned on and then it tured off for a while but it was white now its back on and blue which is my color scheme and i didnt even do anything
Theyre $13 on amazon, idk about newegg
but i cant complain
And neweggs where stuff is well priced on tt shop
i dont think there on there
Yeah they're not
Better due to higher range of flow
thats fine tho
For less as well
how the only 13 dollars
That's competitive
tho
Non rgb is $11.90, rgb is 12.90, white rgb is 13.90
what about my aio fans
They're basically P12's without the daisy chain but with waayyyy higher airflow scaling, if you look at it from a practical perspective
can i replace them with them with these
You should hear evga clc fans
got the x73 for like 80-90 dollars refurbished with everything in the box
i feel lioke it was a decent price
The screen one for 90 would've been amazing yeah, if you are into that
They're basically the same asetek underneath tho
How long ago did you buy this
can i replece the nzxt fans with those
a decent bit ago
Ok then it would've been a good buy
Cos only recently we learned about the notte
whats that
Quite good
is it good
They're great, all like, sub $70
They're better on intel than amd tho
Something they haven't cracked yet at thermalright
It's better than an x73 for less though, let's just say
yeah i might need to get a new aio soon
my cat has been up there
and prolly caked in cat fur
i try not let her sta up there
Nothing a good clean won't fix
i did a little bit ago
Use what you got man
just is pretty time consuming and i dont want to risk breaking anythiong
i just run it under water
the radiator
nothing connected to it
Ye, if you leave it to dry, that's ok
whats that
i used to leaf blower my stuff
got alot of dust out
also how many can i daisy chain
of the tl-c12
Idk don't own one
becasue i might not have enoug connectors
Also don't know if they can
Fair enough
Mobo headers are typically rated for 1A
So P12's can do technically 9 on one
But I stop at 6
yeah you can daisy chain
C12C's? No idea what their power draw is
same here
Alright took my fans out of the fan controller and now they are super silent
if im leaving town for a week, should i shut down my pc and turn off my psu or can i just put my pc on shutdown?
In three years of having my pc I've never had any issues with power surges or anything like that, and I don't even have a surge protector, but that also depends on your area
If you're not worried about it normally, I wouldn't worry about it now
would it reset anything in my pc or no?
cuz i mean its better safe than sorry i think\
?
Shouldn't no
me personally i just turn off the psu and unplug it even if nothing happens better safe then sorry
Hi
Hello
MSI PRO-A, and Tomahawk.
Pro a is mid range, nice board but probably not what you're looking for
Tomahawk has more io, I believe more m.2s, better ram tuning potential, technichally better vrms but that's irrelevant here with how good the vrms already are on the pro a
How big of a difference for tuning is there between the Z790 Aorus Elite and MSI Tomahawk?
DDR5 & Wifi versions for both.
Probably not enough to think over
Never oced or mined
Talk him down to 250
See what is the lowest they will go and go off of that
If you can get the 6800 down to 250 and the 3070 seller won’t budge I’m going with the 6800
Not because I have one
Because it has more vram and will get fsr 3.0
But since I’m not the smartest ask some other people on what they think also
Can someone help me out pls? I’m absolutely done at this point, I dunno what else to do and im beyond frustrated. My Bluetooth isn’t working and no matter what I try it doesn’t work. I’m all I want to do is use my ps4 controller to play on steam but nothing I do works.
6800xt any day of the week
Non xt
I see
but see if you can bargin with them first
Ofc
Is this a good GPU? ASRock Phantom Gaming OC Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB Video Card
price?
Good but what's the price?
Put together a range of different things I've been wanting, here's what I came up with and I'm curious what y'all think
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1574389-REG/gigabyte_gigabyte_g27q_g27q_27_ips_gaming.html (Primary monitor)
https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-headset (On sale, but will take a while to ship which I'm fine with)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J4JRRCT?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 (Secondary monitor)
https://www.endgamegear.com/en-us/xm2we/gaming-mice (Current mouse is giving me issues)
https://shop.x-raypad.com/shop/aqua-control-gaming-mouse-pads/ (Probably 1000x500mm in black and 4mm thick)
Hey guys
Is the rx 6500 worth it?
Is this a pretty solid build?
@mossy venture hey, do u think the 6500 will be good?
Oh
Nvm
Hold on
I'll make it pub
Ok now loon
Looj
Look
@obsidian wigeon is the build good atleast
Besides the gpu
I just need a gpu for the build
This is my cousins build
Budget is like 550 to 600
i could do better
Please do
I need it to be like final
Finna start buying the parts one I get a solid list done
Pardon me, but I'm having a heck of a time with my build and was wondering if I could bother some of you smart folks for some ideas with troubleshooting it.
Assembled with the newegg builder, followed directions etc etc. Took it apart again and went through everything for common mistakes. Only one thing I am seeing I have a question about but the rest seems decent?
Ask away, and please show me your build list
Sure, let met get that all together, and thank you in advance 🙂
Yeah, happy to help
Just update the bios once you get it, but it should be fine
ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-Plus Wif LGA 1700 (Intel 12th + 13th) (motherboard)
Intel Core I7 -12700k BX8071512700K (CPU)
DeepCool AK 620 (cooler)
G.Skill Ripjaws S5 - 32gb pair (x2, so 64gb) (Memory)
Gigabyte windforce Geforce RTX 4070 12gb (graphics)
Corsair RM750e (power supply)
Team Group T-force Cardea A440 pro - 2tb SSD
Problem(s): Crashes instantly running cyberpunk, crashes relatively quickly running Mechwarrior Online. Crashes during Cinemark, not from excess heat as far as I can tell? Lots of memory warnings like trying to assign to a point in memory and can't. In debug I can copy and paste when one comes up again.
Things I've done: Found every update I could, no luck there. Reinstalled windows and found every update again. No luck on round two. Double checked my entire build, checked I didn't forget the the little plastic flap on the cooler so I removed it, I didn't, paste is good as well an reseated CPI. Ran memory check, no issues. Ran cinemark... crashed. Reseated graphics card. It's still happy. Checked all memory is seated fine, all good.
Only visible issue I could find and can't navigate: There is an 8 pin and a 4pin connector for the CPU power. Directions say just use 8 pin. I only have an 8 pin connector that came with the power supply, so I am running just 8pin. Maybe I should get an 8+4 connector just to be thorough?
I just got into the "Ai Suite 3" tool and turned down all the overclocking I could find. Cinemark now passes, just not sure if I am leaving much on the table?
I'm not sure what steps I take from here to determine what product "is at fault". Or maybe just getting rid of all overclocking helps?
it's false negative
Bet
What's your idle temps?
Is the crash a blue screen, or a game error?
30c. Blue screen from Cinemark and once from games. Generally just closes and asks me to send info, I open what info and open stacktrace file to see what the error is and it's generally about failing to assign to a point in memory.
I'm nearing the end of my second 10 minute run of Cinemark. Bouncing between 64-65c. Seems to be pretty reasonable now. Maybe I'll get lucky and turning all the overclocking off (that comes on by default) fixes everything
I unfortunately didn't take a note or grab a picture. I'm just wrapping up cinemark run 2. I'll try cyberpunk again now
woi i cant send pics
Ah ok
Welp I've surviveda ton of the cyberpunk benchmarks on ridiculously high settings. So far I think this is a new record 😄
(for not having crashed this far)
That silly automated overclocking was way way too aggresive I guess
Auto oc sucks unfortunately
Asus auto oc?
all auto oc sucks mostly
Asus auto oc just aims for stability shooting the voltage for mediocre clock speeds
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rqKxHG
Set up the list for my first build, is this hardware good enough for Blender, FL Studio, and most Adobe programs? (I’m on a budget lol)
I would rearrange your budget allocation
The sound card isn't needed, a $20 pair of speakers would be a better purchase, but aside from that give me a few and I'll remake the list
Could also go for a 13600k
Wait I forgot mobo
One sec
Can also do much cheaper speakers, razer products are not well priced
if they want to use earbuds/headphones, a $9 apple dac probably beats that $142 sound card
just never use auto overclocking
especially ASUS auto overclocking
ASUS auto overclocking has a lovely tendency to cause permanent damage to your CPU by applying insane voltages to it
seen it automatically apply 1.71V to a 13900K lol
remove half of your ram if you really want some more performance
4 sticks of ddr5 😐
especially on z690
guessing your memory errors are from trying to run your XMP profile on all 4 sticks and you just happened to turn off XMP now
if you truly need 64gb ram get a 2x32 kit, otherwise just take out half of your ram and return it
Hey, could I get some feedback on my build? I'm trying to keep it around 700 and yes I already have a case and ram. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Kj6dHG
do you already have an ssd?
tbh even if you do there's just no reason to buy a hard drive these days
nvme is cheap
also, for future reference you should add your case and ram to the list and just set the price to $0 manually
Ah okay will do
what case/ram do you have
And no I just wanted mre storage
i am making you a list
well hard drive is absolutely not the way to go
Got it
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hRDFsh
if 730 is too much you can drop it to a 6700xt for 700 on the dot
this will perform anywhere from 50% to infinity times better than the list you linked
i say infinity because there are games coming out now that straight up do not function on hard drives
Ah got it thank you
case sucks but ehh it's fine if you already have it
Yeah that's how I feel
if you haven't already bought it yet or are still in the return window please cancel/return
Sadly no it was from a friend who never used it
Lmao fair enough
actually going to recommend switching back to ryzen with that ram
unless you want to do manual ram tuning
not recommended to run 3600 xmp with 12th gen non-K
let me find a suitable board one sec
Ok
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dR2n6D
you could go slightly cheaper on the board but this board gives you a smooth upgrade path to 5800x3d if you want that as a option
can swap in the same 6750xt from before if you don't mind raising the price to 730
Oh wait also does the board how wifi built in? as it stands I do not have access to ethernet
Also if open to it, can get better price and perf with tiktok shop
Parts are sold by wegg on through tiktok
5600 is I think $95 and b550m aorus elite is $50
5.7% higher performance for 4.3% higher price, your call either choice is valid
no
one sec
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lc2n6D this board works if wifi 5 is good enough for you
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2bqgBL if you want wifi 6e just toss in an add-in card into a cheaper board
and yeah you can investigate this as well
Ok thank you very much!
np
Alright i will prob get those fans on the 18th becasue thats when i get paid👍
hope they will look nice
I have a question for anyone that might have an answer for me
I have this PSU that I’m not sure how many pins it is so I can determine what version of Lian li cables to buy
Here are some pics of the PSU I’m waiting for to come in the mail. And then a pic of the details of it if that helps
The strimers? What GPU
The GPU I know which ones to buy for. The others go into the PSU yeah? 🤔
If so I need to know which ones, I’m assuming the 24 pin?
I mean which model GPU so I can tell you which and how many PCIe cables you'll need
I have the 7900 xtx Taichi which is the 8x3 pin I believe
Yep so you'll need 3 of the 8 pin strimers and the 24 pin
Thank you @potent portal you the real mvp
Anyone have any recommendations on a good white RGB Keyboard and mouse? I’m not trying to be a pro gamer lol, just looking for a decent kboard and mouse with nice RGB aesthetics
Mouse is a lot of personal preference, but kone pro air fits the bill
Depends on hand size, grip, and weight preferences though
Orochi v2 is also nice
@mossy venture thank you I’ll take a look ☺️
So if a board has wifi on it alr, is there a way to upgrade it or do I just have to buy a wifi card?
xfx 6950xt
Did it start for you too?
did you ping the wrong gavin
lol
Amd patches -> window update breaks it
don't run the latest driver
No
Ik
that's the solution atm
i've turned off all my updates
ds3h?
ud isn't aorus pro im sure
oh it's a ds3h
does anyone have a favorite looking aib card
idk if im weird for being obessed with this
That looks upgradeable
also i just realized the 6650 XT is a thing?
yes
i know they did a 6950, 6750, i didnt know about the 6650
6650 XT has been a great deal lately, same price as 6600 non xt
anything lower than 6950xt that uses 50xt name is a refresh
6700xt costs more than 10% more tho
7600 has replaced it, if it's still down to $220 or so
not proportional increase
shh
Pretty sure it's still $200 on tiktok shop after coupon, but thats not an option for everyone
6950 XT should of gotten more than 16 vram
Why
would of been a more worthwhile increase
isnt the only difference
memory speed
from the 6900
Ye 6650 is still $220 for mech 2x, 7600 is $250
6950xt is like 2% better than an xtxh 6900xt, but for a good while the 6950xt was cheaper than the 6900xt
It moreso replaced the 6900xt than was a higher tier card
It wouldn't use the extra vram 99% of the time too, afaik no game uses beyond 12 atm
They used different memory on the 6950 that ran higher clocks (instead of being an overclock) so you could still oc the 6950 memory even higher
Otherwise it was basically the same as a high tier 6900 xt
The point was AMD had to make a refresh since Nvidia made the 3090 ti
did the TI actually have a difference over the normal 3090
im very unfamilar with the 30 series
It was a fair bit more difference https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/4524vs4284/GeForce-RTX-3090-Ti-vs-GeForce-RTX-3090
im so glad i wasnt interested in pcs that much like 2-3 years ago
those prices are crazy
Yeah no one cared about the 3090 ti
3090 Ti became irrelevant so fast
6900xt ocf and 6950 basically have always been relevant
Stamped that dumb nvidia idea out of existence
$2000 for a GPU launched at the end of eth mining
Fal

Help
I need an adult
This 13900KS is supposedly worth 1600$ cos of silicon lottery

I'll give you $2 and a paperclip
I'm not here to brag btw
ive heard that silicon term before, is that just just how production happens
I'm reeling
The power of binning compels you to sell it and upgrade to 14900k
Trying to accept this scenario
like some get made better than others?
There's a margin of "error" where some cpus have better silicon than others
Some can have worse silicon than average
i figured it was something like that
Pretty much, they all work to a range of tolerance, the really high quality ones sell for more than they're worth (this one apparently)
Better silicon ocs better
how much would it normally be worth
Bc they oc better ocing enthusiasts and people who care about every single possible frame pay a lot for
Every piece of silicon will have an acceptable number of defects. Ones with less defects can typically get higher clock speeds at lower voltages, and vice versa. Silicon lottery refers to the luck of the draw if you get a good one or not.
those people are wild to me
Below msrp second hand
Eh. Some people make a lot of money of ocing, like some YouTubers for example
again I figured, idk why i struggled so much to put it into words lol
i love watching you guys bounce between channels trying to help all these people
I'm tryna help myself today 😂😂😂
i wish i could lol, pcs confuse me
I'm in a panic
thats unlike you from what ive seen lol
you seemed to know like every question i asked
good luck trying to sell that thing though if it really is worth that much
im sure someones gotta be interested
Send it to me 🙂
If you pay me enough sure
How does $3.50 sound?
Terrible, I love u
I’ll test my LN2 pot on it
Decided to stay up, took me 2 hours to download the app it’s only 4gb, I’m happy with the score, double my last setup
That's not what that score means
It's a totally different test
If you had a CPU bottleneck your GPU score would be below average, yours is right on the curve
For comparison, my overclocked 5800X gets 13k points. Stock score is a little over 11.2k. Considering I have 2 more cores than you and a higher base clock, at stock I'd expect 8k points from that processor on liquid cooling. You're right where you're supposed to be.
Alright
Hope it runs the game so want it to run at good fps ngl
Which game
Warzone, Fortnite, siege, league, valo, Minecraft and other games which I’ll play when I fully build it, single player like metro last light
Overwatch
Even warzone?
Well, warzone is the least easy from a GPU standpoint but the 6700 XT is no slouch
I heard it’s hard to run
True 6700xt goes hard
CoD ❤️ AMD
Nice, I wonder how much fps I’ll get in fort, can’t wait to play with friends again
Will I be able to run in epic setting?
Highest settings
Doesn't that enable ray tracing? No competitive player is running at that preset
I have no clue, prob does
Never tried it cuz my dumb laptop can’t run lowest performance settings
Maybe high settings
1080p or 1440p
1080p I’m too broke to afford 1440p monitors
I really hope my refurb doesn’t come with dead pixels
What about high?
Oh ok, where do I check?
RT high 75-80
Epic no RT 120-130
Damn nice
Crazy fps
I think low around 200-400
6700xt is a beast
Budget baller
What’s your gpu?
3080 ti
Damn, new or used
My system is in my bio
I got it new. Waited in line at a best buy during the shortage.
Only way to get a high end GPU for under 2k at that time
1200 is crazy
What is it now?
800-700?
$500 used
Also that’s a lot of storage damn
What you hiding
I rip movies to play on plex
I can never fill my 1tb, I have no life
No I rip DVD and Blu Ray
Also doesn’t my motherboard come with 2 m.2 slots or am I tripping
What’s your favourite?
One slot is under the GPU
Where do I find the other one?
I used that one for the solidigm, wheres the other?
Above the GPU
imagine not having 60 tb of rare orange mushroom nfts
Priorities = straight
Ok phew good thing I used the top slot, I got pcie 4
I need to buy another ssd for bottom slot cuz I’m sure imma use all my storage lol
Also is it fine to use hard drives for storage of games?
Yeah totally
Especially older games, indie games, anything that doesn't need instant load times
Alright
I need to buy black ops, I never played zombies before
The only things that should be on SSDs are typically open world games and games with no loading screens
Oh alright
Do you suggest getting a ssd or HDD?
What’s a 1 tb HDD cost
SSDs are so cheap these days it's hard to not recommend them
Yeah hdd are around 25 while 1tb ssd is 30
So yeah there’s so point getting a hdd
Not one that small at least
Unless you need 25tb of storage 💀💀
I have a portable HDD
Will it work?
It’s a Toshiba Camio
Probably
Also huge question, I have most of my games in my laptop
I have a hdd, can I take stuff from my laptop storage and move them to hdd?
And use the same files to play on my new computer?
I really don’t wanna redownload all the stuff
Gonna take me 100 yrs
4TB is about the point where SSDs get more expensive and it's worth getting HDD
Yeah if you want more storage go for HDD
Like even launchers Like steam and epic games
Steam games, no problem. It's pretty much copy/paste, and tell it where you copied.
Other launchers, you might need to trick them.
Yeah idk what to do about the other ones
Like league and epic games and even battle net
Any way?
League I know is easy, what you do is install the launcher, tell it to download, quit launcher, copy files, (overwrite), run launcher and tell it to verify
I have the launcher and game
So like redownload league again?
g'night
Where do I put the argb input and the sata it came with?
@mossy venture @potent portal
SATA connector goes to power supply
Also this thing
Argb goes to motherboard header
Which socket
That's for rpm control on the fan hub, plug it into a fan header
Fan headed?
Aorus b550m elite
RGB - yellow
Fan header - green
The white one into the green one?
Yes
Ok
@potent portal I don’t think my case came with reset sw cord
Nvm
Also how do I plug in the sata
Is the gpu in right?
From what I can see yeah
As long as the clip thing on the PCIe slot clicked it should be good
Alright

How do I plug in sata cable
Which cable of the psu
Not posting tho
Why isn’t it posting 😭😭
Is your monitor plugged into the motherboard or GPU?
NVM IT WORKSSS
LETS GOOOOO
I PUT THE CABLE IN MOTHERBOARD LOL
No problem?
What about these cables
Looks alright from what I can see
Ok thanks
Apparently 14th gens are out
yes
Apparently 5% better than the 13600k cause of .200mhz clock speed boost and + .100mhz for efficiency cores? What is this, nivida?
It's just a refresh
Nothing we were supposed to get
15th gen is where things get spicy
Ah
"15th gen" which will be restarting with the core ultra naming scheme
Av1 encode
So, for instance, a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13600K will become an Intel Core 5 processor 13600K. These changes will take effect starting with the Meteor Lake line and will apply to all releases going forward.
Intel marketing team, seeing AMD's confusing naming: "Hold my beer"
The problem is there's going to also be a change in the rest of the naming, so we'll have the Intel Core 9 processor 1900, and also the Intel Core 9 Ultra Processor 1900
Unless Intel wants to make it a mess
Watch me call it C9 and CU9

wtf does Ultra even mean anyway
It means marketing team gets to define it
And yes, "processor" is actually part of the official naming. Don't ask why
I guess they wanted to make them "ultra processors"
Which makes it sound like it processes ultra
I don't want to process ultra
Then buy AMD ig
Intel just wants their names to sound fancier than amds since they're about to have their ass handed them with 14th gen vs 7000x3d and 8000 series
Shaddup Intel
They're about to confuse tf out their current client base
Everyone like "I want an i7"
^^^
They make so much money based off their current branding

Because people know the different i_ names, historically i7s have been best for gaming
Now that they're kinda pointless over the i5s for gaming, they're just screwing themselves outta the people buying the i7 because it's an i7
It's been their brand for 15 years
No I was thinking more of a certain Australian profanity
I figured that out after the edit

Can I leave my pc on overnight downloading stuff?
Yes
If I didn't help you build a pc that I felt could survive some of the most stupid conditions I probably wouldn't be a techie
Nor fal
Nor bacca (deserves techie)
should i buy a 6950xt or a 7800xt?
Depends on price diff
6950xt is worth a little more
By how much
If you're in the us, 7800xt can be had as low as $470 with newegg through tiktok shop, $500 not on tiktok shop
Probably less like 15%?
So if the 6950 is worth like, 10-15% more than 7800xt max? Then it's kinda worth
So take 470$ and add 15% of that to it
Or sapphire pulse I think it is on tiktok shop that's $500, and then new user or other coupon
6950 is like $100 more
Yeah not for 100 more
I'd take the 7800xt personally, I'm assuming $500 vs 515 or thereabouts
50 more? Worth
^
7700xt price still stagnant even though it's sales are awful
Sadge
If it dropped to ~$400 it'd be pretty decent
$375 or less imo
which one is better bc they have the same specs idc abt price
$350-ish now 7800xt is 470
The cheapest
idc about price
ok
If you don't care about price then get a 7900xtx
Best priced gpu rn
im just talking about 7800 and 6950
just wondering if they have the same performance
whole new pc
putting a 7800x3d in it
6950 is better but not $100 better
What's your total budget?
Go 7800xt
like 1600
i wanna go amd and radeon based on cheaper prices
ya
Do you mind if I make you a quick list?
yea sure
Would just need to ask a few questions first
Do you care about aesthetics?
Also size preferences for tower, and storage needs?
micro atx or atx doesnt rlly matter to me
what's the pc being used for?
2tb storage
And last one do you need wifi?
high quality gaming like rust and other heavy cpu usage games and streaming
i have ethernet
Do you alr have a monitor?
yes
1080p
Ah
Would you be open to a monitor upgrade? At this budget 1080p doesn't make much sense
Alright, few min
alr
I'm not sure rn but maybe even a 7800x3d
thats what im planning on buying
i also want am5 btw
7800x3d not worth for your budget, 7600 is a good bit less and the gpus you'd be looking at in this budget won't max out a 7600, let alone a 7800x3d
The mobo I'm adding though you'd be fine to run a next gen x3d cpu on
Was trying to find a way to fit 7900xt in $1600 after 240hz 1440p monitor but idt I can
you can take the monitor out
huh thought 7900xtx/7660 is around 1.4k
if needed
Was what I first came up with, but I'm gonna make a cheaper one https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kGmZJy
Ye that's an option, can always upgrade monitor down the line
I would recc it as soon as you could though, 1080p on this tier of gpus is like buying a Lamborghini for a golf course
can i also suggest a sama case or smth that case rgb fans on front
I just leave it there and what about display settings? Keep them on never or keep them lower?
Oh ye I meant to add a 3 pack of c12c rgb fans, mb
i want to be able to see the fans
smth like this
but whatever is compatible atx/matx wise
Alr one sec
Maybe turn off sleep if you want the download to keep going
So with 7800x3d https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xd8289
Like go to power?
And with 7600+7900xtx https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mc6bL9
But id say look at benchmarks in the games you play between those two setups
Is that good?
alr
is a 750w psu powerful enough?
Also could switch ssd to a60 or mp33, all three are very similar in performance
Yeah, you could run a 4090 with that one
Could swap it to the 850 of that model though
damn fr?
Or if you want a very nice model, 850w xpg core reactor
damn i didnt know that
The gx pro is a decent B tier, xpg core reactor is a very nice A tier
A tier is the highest quality psus get
bacca just got my p41
W
it's so hot (idk what im saying anymore)
ngl though
it looks tinier than my m.2's
I might be crazy but who knows
I still need to buy m.2 standoffs and screws
I haven't checked I'll have to compare it
don't they come w the motherboard?
Yeah but I'm stupid and dk where I put them
I had found a standoff and then lost it
I think with the p41 I could technichally go all nvme storage
Wouldn't even need my sata one, I barely use 1.5tb as is
3.5tb nvme I have will be more than fine
I just play minecraft on my computer 😭
Lmao
I wanted to play apex but the data thing, overwatch died out for me, rust on 1440p is hell
plus I have nobody to play w :(
Also if you have any questions or want to change anything, feel free to ping me
I'm always happy to give info and pros/cons, I understand having personal preferences to a certain extent
yes, can i get a black mobo im gonna go with a darker theme
Yeah definitely, one sec I'll grab a couple options
This is nice but not completely dark https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Dq4Zxr/asrock-b650m-hdvm2-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-b650m-hdvm2
alr ty
If you dont like the look of that one either lmk
i like it
There's also a good few other case options, if you don't like the 903 max
ya i dont rlly like that one
Kk one sec
Though also lemme show you what the g300a looks with rgb fans in the front
k
Kinda similar to this but the rgb is a cleaner look https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NYNYcf/phanteks-eclipse-g300a-3-fan-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-ec300ga_dbk02
C12cs are different colors, and can control them if I'm not wrong
Felix would know if you can or not
This is also really nice, another phanteks case https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QdXYcf/phanteks-eclipse-p400a-digital-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-ec400atg_dbk
Aside from that basically any $80 fractal design case with a mesh front
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811197027?Item=N82E16811197027 you think something like this would have enough airflow cause i really enjoy building with this cse
3000d airflow as well is fine
Yeah that case is fine, it's not as good but mesh front at least
As long as it's got a mesh front it's hard to not be decent
ya imma go with the sama one because its cheap and my fav case to build in rn
Sounds good, just make sure it fits the gpus
Just gotta check gpu clearance and gpu length
It says max gpu length is 345mm
Cooler height is 160mm
In the 7800x3d list the cooler would be 5mm from touching the side panel
Which is fine, just a lil close
The xtx is 344mm, would just barely fit lol
oh damn
