Older ones may have a switch
If you're bringing a monitor over the pond then you might need to switch that power cord too
Oh nah
I got one here
Just the pc I’m building in the us most likely
White builds with a black gpu can look really nice, it's all personal preference
You can also take the gpu shroud off and paint it yourself
👀
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7800 XT, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
Alr gonna save this
Good old plasti-dip does the trick for me
Paint it black
💀
Rolling stones
Any benchmark videos for these specs
I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky
Also anyone know any good gaming headphones like good and mic 2
New set up
May aswell
Alr
E.g. ram, but there should be at least 1 with the cpu and gpu
Eclipse
the light around in an eclipse is so pretty
the sky lights up differently than any other time
Guys, do you think the kedier fish tank cases are any good>
?
Ive been checking them out and ngl they look hella cool, but idk if there good or not
Too good to be true maybe?
oh
damn
I just want to know if the kedier fish tank cases are worth it
cause 99$ for a fish tank case with like 5 fans, idk sounds too good ot be true
How much does the o11 cost for you
Also tbh it probably includes very cheap fans
Most cases that include fans tend to have some pretty bottom of barrel
The Fractal torrent includes good fans but they aren't really standard size
130$
Ah
You're right
is 750w good enough for a rx 6800
Yeah
ok
It’s beginning to materialize
It’s all coming together
Oh yeah
Thanks to the ppl in here that answered my questions 🙏 everything should be here before next weekend.
computer
yes
Where's the amogus
i can
i love my x670ee strix i got for 50 bucks
How
Not bad, but evga g5 750 is same price and better
ok spooky bacca
Having some weird issues. Replaced my 7700X with a 7800X3D, reinstalled windows drivers etc all was working. Started working back on my PBO , was fine until just now. PC will boot, DRAM light is red then off red than off until eventually PC shuts down
Tried to clear CMOS using the pins but it doesn’t seem to have helped at all
More of a few quick switches between CPU and DRAM ending on DRAM
Best 240 HZ monitor in the market? with a good budget?
Clear cmos using battery method in the mean time
Define what you mean by a good budget, 200$? 300$? 400$? And what resolution?
200 1440p
Can’t remove it from my mobo, don’t know why
It’s really jammed in there IG
I used the jumpers connected right to the battery and problem persists
1440p240hz starts at around 300-400$ so you'll have to look for used
like you can't get the flap thing to pop it out?
Battery method is more reliable than jumper, it's just a sanity check
I can’t see the flap is the thing
Not sure if it broke off or what
Got it
It seems like…not totally seated
Like it’s loose
I can just kinda spin it around for some reason
Should I get a new battery or what?
for reseting cmos? take it out and unplug from wall
Oh yeah I already did that I mean like to give it time to boot
The first time I reset with jumpers power was off but not unplugged 😨
But the issue existed before that so
Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
what about 165hz
about your only option
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824281243
?
Nvm
@stoic island new battery didn’t help at all
rip
Best option for 1440p 240hz rn https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6WBzK8/lg-ultragear-270-2560-x-1440-240-hz-monitor-27gr83q-b
$349
anything i can do? or anyone/where i can go to for more help?
can't think of anything rn
Randomly started working lol
Na man budget is $200
You got 165 hz?
Pretty much what was posted here and you have just over 5 hours left to buy it
1440p 144+ for good screens is generally 230+
A1A is decent for $200
This is the only $200 1440p high refresh monitor I know of, and I'm pretty sure it's garbage. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BycgXL/asus-tuf-gaming-vg27aqa1a-270-2560-x-1440-170-hz-monitor-tuf-gaming-vg27aqa1a
VA tho 🤢
hence decent, not good lol
$230 really is where you want to start your 1440p budget
If you could stretch that extra $30 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JPrYcf/gigabyte-g27q-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-g27q
all good
I think qs is the 240hz normally $350+ one
https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-Monitor-FreeSync-Premium-E275B-QPD168/dp/B097G21FHC/ref=mp_s_a_1_5? This isn't bad for the price
No
Okay so just screw the plate right on top
Yes, make sure it's inserted properly

This should tell you pretty much everything you need to know
Anybody know any budget 1tb m.2 ssd’s
ok
Sadly
Yeah prime deal days oct 10-11 I think it was
yeah im probably gonna try to buy the parts around those dates
fanstastech and prime at same time
Ask again around that time then
Ok
Deals will change daily at this point, storage is getting so cheap it's crazy
good suggestion
Can I use my dell wd19 docking station with my gaming rig 🤔
Trying to figure out how to readily swap between work and game PCs
Need to connect to 7800xt based system with mini dp and retain the data functionality if possible
KVM usually does the trick
the glorious https://www.store.level1techs.com/products/p/14-kvm-switch-triple-monitor-2computer-pne46-fxlmw
Have you ever wanted a KVM switch that doesn’t suck, supports DisplayPort 1.4 (3840x2160@120hz / 8k @ 30hz ) and USB3? Listen. No KVM is perfect BUT our customers tell us -- The Level1Techs KVMs are pretty darn good. This KVM switch will let you THREE monitors plus other USB peripherals like a key
Damn, that’s expensive. But if it does everything it looks like it does, that’s pretty cool.
it's the only DP switch that can even support multi-monitor switching in existence basically
Yep lvl1techs makes the best KVM I know
Most others you have to sacrifice a LOT, like limited resolutions and refresh rates.
4k120 over KVM? Unheard of on any others
Yea I just have to unplug and plug stuff in. In a temporary living situation with not a ton of room atm
Kind of a pita tbh
Imma have to get creative
Choose Your Parts
Ah
Part List - Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR X Black ATX Mid Tower
Or 4500 for $50 off tiktok shop
now it's w/o the 6700xt deal so
Maybe a bit cheaper
oh my
apparently active local seller
@mossy venture opinions?
or maybe brand new 7800xt
I find the box with gpus in the background a bit sus
same
miner alert
minings don't kill gpus
miner kills gpus
hurts to think how many gpus died due to miner incompetence
How many miners have a tech background
On one hand they need to know how to set it up
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QvQyKX
Finalized the list for my itx. Going to microcenter tomorrow to look at cases
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 7700 XT
its just a battery, its fine
If the incompetence is miner, the damage must not be that bad
any good coolers that will fit my b660 matx board, intel 12400f i5… if can get under 50$ (with still good quality) that will be great
just not sure what to look up
The legendary Hyper air cooler is back and better than before. Hyper 212 Black Edition offers better installation and great performance, easily one of the best air cooling solutions. Aluminum top cover and nickel plated jet black fins give the Hyper 212 Black Edition a more premium exterior appea...
is this one good?
there are better value now
but imo if your budget is only $50, just use the stock cooler, it's good enough
actually
wait it's usd i asssume
you can get a TR peerless assassin se for like 30
For 12400
Id-cooling se 214xt / 224xt
Almost always $20 and plenty good
There are also a number of notable thermalright options
For $17 - $19
i feel like the stock cooler is good enough for a 12400f tbh
It is but it's noisy
esp with gaming since you won't be fully loading your cpu
stock cooler came with one blade broken so u don’t want to be using it for long
ah
got it from box and the blade fell out
💀
when new cooler comes i’ll fix
procrastination
at its finest
lmfao
so what cooler?
what felix said
?
yeah
bet
the one i recommended is overkill for your chip but is also under your budget
basically all coolers should include paste either preapplied to the coldplate, or in a tube
or sometimes a sauce packet
If it doesn't come with paste take it back until it does
All coolers should come with paste
Lol
me
Head chef of.pastes
how kpx is made
real
214xt
vs this? edit: wait… i kinda just realized 🥸
for the bracket, do i really need to unscrew the whole mb from case or is there another way
can i cut a hole
technically
yes
but you would want to take off the mobo to cut a hole
so that you dont break the mobo
💀
you're gonna have to go through rewiring anyways 💀
it's a little bit more than just one wire

i knew that
dw im just joking (but you should fix it eventually)
well rewiring is pretty easy even if you take the mobo out cause they’ll just be sitting there already routed and positioned so all you need to do is plug them back in
ah, cable management
I mean… cable management is optional

I had pretty poor cable management for my first build and it took me like 3 months to fix it
i will make an ied with the best cable management to ever be seen for it to disappear from the planet in 20 seconds
Cable management is like road works
After a while it becomes endless
Unless you do it perfectly first time
it’s fun when you have a complex build with a ton of cables and bothering to do cable management makes it harder to work on the pc
have a friend that’s selling me a 3 pack of AL120 unifans for cheap to replace my failing side intakes
less cables
couldn’t care less
Alr lol
maybe at 100% they’ll begin to rival the air purifier behind it lol
I don't understand why their rpm range bottoms out at 40% tho
What's louder, that air purifier or clc stock fans
Got completely turned off when I learned that
I actually wonder if setting my current fans to 0% has contributed to the issues they’re having now
Clc stock fans are louder than my actual room fan at its highest setting
touched the back of one today and it was at quite a high temperature
turned it up to 40% and the temperature went way down
wonder if the leds are burning out because of high temps
LOL
not directly because of high temps but
I wonder if the higher temps shortened their lifespan
they’ve been running for over 15k hours
but haven’t had any issues with leds on the radiator fans which are always spinning
while I’ve had to replace 4 case fans that spend most of their time at 0%
when the case fans are spinning the bottom fan is blowing across the hubs of the side fans and the bottom side fan is blowing across the hub of the bottom fan so I guess they are cooling each other
when logically you’d expect spinning to increase the operating temperature lol
anyways, can’t really complain about a 15k+ hour lifespan
they’ve done their duty
is it like… 40% and then 0%? or you can’t turn them off
cause my current fans are 40% and then 0%
40% and 40%
I meant on my current fans
Oh my bad
40% is like 600 rpm and I can’t hear it even if I try to lol
let’s see if it can cover the gpu coil whine lmao
the gpu coil whine is the only sound I can hear coming from my pc over the air purifier
I hate it
I just couldn't get over it. They were so expensive and I didn't need a baseline for a waterloop as big as mine
After that I went to P12's
idk how asus is getting worse each generation with coil whine
Now I want B12's
how much did you pay for them?
The proper price
I’m getting the complete 3 pack for $40 if that helps lol
I thought they'd look nice for an expensive high end rig with the side accents
It's just a gimmick imo now
Tbf the 40 series cards are running much cooler and with quieter fans now
It in that sense is also a little more noticeable with those changes
the coil whine is louder than 100% fan speed
my 3090 strix was also terrible on all 3 psus I tested
oh
mine is an actual whine that changes pitch
it’s terrible
sounds like asus packed a demon in there
the only thing I don’t love about this card
it’s so overbuilt and premium feeling in every other way but why did they skimp on this
can I have uhh 0.25 cents of glue or something
If you find the problem child you can cover it with a putty to make the sound deafened
On a strix tho?
Honestly this gen of strix I've never been more disappointed lmao
it’s gonna take a lot to cover myself with putty
I have a tuf but yeah my 3090 strix was pretty bad too
fill a swimming pool
Oh tuf mb
yeah… all the good used deals are asus
asussy
sad
Tbh I think the tuf is better
I just end up with asus gpu every time
You're not overpaying for asus

getting a laptop is worth it for asus fee here tbh
I like the double hdmi and the ease of flashing to strix vbios
speaking of tuf, i hate "military grade" marketing
1st year accidental damage warranty
Double hdmi is nice
means absolutely nothing
just hope I never have to RMA it lmao
It's def meme worthy 💀💀💀
im glad i got this tuf lappy
and 2 years international warranty
not like i need that anyway
3 years for strix/zephyrus stuff
I’m still happy with it just because of the price
ended up keeping it instead of reselling it as planned
sold the 1660ti to a client instead
"tuf" a drop from half a body height messed up the fan bearings
im waiting for mom to be free so i can rma lmao
damn
I dropped my gp66 from 1.5m and nothing happened, it was in a backpack though
not sure how much that helped
mine slipped out of the backpack
padded in two sides I guess
i forgot to zip it up and bro picked the bag up
damn
time for him to study fan bearing repair
lmao
well asus will accept rma for this damage
in thailand they offer 1st year accident warranty
damage is covered
you remember that strix prebuilt i scratched the hell out of its mobo?
yeah, they accepted that too
💀
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070, Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower
where can I make it better
Do tou own anything yet?
Because uh not going am4, not getting a Nvidia card, getting a cheaper mobo cooler and case and ssd
nothing
but the person wanted
ddr4
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower
budget is around 1.5k-2k
gpu there is at the wrong price
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower

Actually
@muted egret

Fits in 2k
Np
That's the psu that blows up
^
I know because I had one blow up in my hands (or rather died from ocp)
Didn't know that, very interesting
Different model entirely so makes sense
smh you released the spoon after pulling the pin, you're supposed to hold the spoon till you need to throw it
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower
Guys check out this build I made, is it any good? Also, can someone find a better wifi mobo
The one I actually wanted to put on there is like sold out
If you're fine with a different case https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rFzFgB
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 7600, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
214xt also not needed, stock cooler is more than fine
@serene onyx
Alrighty thanks
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 7600, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
What about this other build, is this build i made any good?
im trying to keep it below 550$. Im trying to make a pc for my cousin for his bday
Found my itx case
how do you lose it
Found the itx case imma buy
Lol
Imagine the case just running from his desk
Yours doesn't?
Uses the fans as properlors to fly away
Dawg
I do have noctua 150 cfm 3000 rpm fans
Put some inside and some outside of the case
Real
Double stack
Stack the fans 5 layers
Man's really want the gaming setup to sound like a stadium from 500m away
Bro wants the jet engine in his room
performance >
nah how else are you going to get the finger chipper performance without actual finger chipping risk
Ok so I need a $1500 4060ti build. Strictly for gaming
First question immediately
1080p now but might upgrade to a 1440 monitor
That's what he wants
prob his friend or some
Lol
the fan noise means it's working
Idk a 4060ti is basically a 3060 ti, if they insist I can, but like, good 30% or so slower than a 3080
We can just build the best possible gaming build for $1500
Just a heads up
this...
I can definitely do that
i physically reacted to this message
lmao
i was building better gaming pcs for $650 a full year ago
they prob already have it bought or some
$1500 for a 4060ti? disgusting
Lol I told him I'm going to change it lol
good
amd or nvidia?
thank you for confiscating his koolaid
aren't there 1200$ 4060ti prebuilts lol
Lol
ironically, that was with an nvidia card
used?
of course
Lol
nvidia still thinks their 30 series gpus are worth what their msrp was 3 years ago
and unfortunately too many people agree for them to stop thinking so
If he really wants an nvidia gpu that isn't refurb https://pcpartpicker.com/list/29KsL9
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
I like AMD but that just me
Can do better/cheaper than that too
Probably a good 2x as fast?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/skDQ6D
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
this still beats the crap out of a 4060ti lol
Yeah that was my reasoning
XTX I think even has better RT than a 4070 or 4060Ti
bro loves bitfenix cases 💀
Cheapest 4070 tis are $800 still lol
you can even raise it to a 4070ti without breaking the budget
I love a cheap mesh box with fans, there's no other reason
4070 $280 cheaper for what, 15% worse perf?
bitfelix
real
how does a 4070ti do vs XTX in RT?
Now I want to shill
4070ti is slightly better
45??
Yeah I believe so, unless sale ended
interesting
where is the sale?
Oh it's a mir apparently
$55 before the rebate
mir?
Mail in rebate
Ooo I'd take that for 45
could make much worse choices to shill for
buy 3 fans for 15
Get c12c's instead
It might be pcp showing the wrong price
Yeahhh
we love to see a company that actually cares about putting out good budget products
after the rebate do they send you cash?
rather get a matx tho
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Boop
Kinda dig it
Just need a black wifi board for 125 amd pls
isnt the 7900xtx best card at amd?
B650 pro rs wifi same price rn
or is there better
Yes but everything else is black
Fair
i have purchased enough bitfenix nova mesh argb to build a small military base
Could do white ram 6000c32 for $5 more
I mean, white board? Can still look ok
But it's like
Wearing a suit with sneakers

After shipping it will be over $1500
is it good case? im picking it up
How much more
I can make it better
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/29KsL9 this is still fine
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
should i buy more fans for it or is it fine
fans are more than half the reason to buy it
the preinstalled fan configuration is more than enough for any system you should be putting in it
alright
Can cut price in some places if he wants cheaper
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2x9wcH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
it's one of my favorite cases for budget flips
cheap way to get a lot of rgb while still having good airflow
nice, also opinion on bitfenix prodigy? 2022
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
it doesn't end up being a problem because, again, it's a budget case
but just pointing it out
oh ok
fr?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
had to get creative to even insert it into the case
Can also go cheaper with 6950xt/7800xt
5700xt nitro+
https://a.co/d/08vlk3L I have this case if it helps
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wX26rv @restive halo
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
1450
Or 7600 cpu for 1340
If he likes white
check the numbers
3 fan doesn't say as much as you think it does
my 3 fan gpu doesn't fit in an o11
All white build possible?
We could also fit rgb in this budget if he wants it
Could go even cheaper and still have a better build than a $1500 4060 ti build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dZ26rv
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Uh
323
I can do all white but not gpu
Unless you want to pay a LOT for white gpu
it says 345
No all good. Just waiting on his reply. Appreciate everyone
you're fine then
ok
i think i was remembering the meshify c at 315 💀
For all white including gpu

From there can go cheaper with 12600k/b760m pro rs
There we go
Lol almost identical build felix, just cpu diff
Yis
Ok I'm out to watch one piece now have fun
Yeah its worth it
Yeah
He said black and white
He wants black and white?
Yes
Hm alr
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Can do white or black for the fans, either works
Same for the 214xt, white or black, whichever he would like more
Actually same for ram too, identical black kit is the same price
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Any of the like dozen lists posted is fine
Also if he likes the look of an aio, notte is cheap and not unreasonable, though it is certainly not needed on any of the three cpus
Lol I appreciate it. As always you guys go above znd beyond

He likes the AIO look
Alr
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Hows this
7700x fits in this list for 1481
If that's still under for including shipping
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Notte is nice too, it comes with an infinity mirror
Like an nzxt kraken but both better and cheaper
This is also pretty good too
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mTzXyg
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Would argue better overall
I'd have to shuffle things a bit for black and white tho but it's doable
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XT, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Probably the best list of them all imo
@restive halo
3080? Or is better possible
Much better is possible
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
But I struggle to recommend this cos
In a drag race the 7900xt is comparable in both raster and rt combined
💀
And it's 720 vs 800?
it's always the brand
So like, 10% cheaper for the same overall performance from amd instead?
And more vram?
He wants raytracing he said
mr. felix please build me list. me only want micron ddr5. thanks.
Ye, the new amd cards can do ray tracing
That's what I thought
It's just a little bit slower than nvidia, but they're faster in raw fps so it makes up for the difference
The 7900xt has raytracing yes?
Yes
7000 series in general has rt yeah
me liked crucial ballistix. now only want micron ddr5 to be loyal. thanks.
real
I can link a review rq devi one sec
Thank you

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pZ9wcH it's pretty much this
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
Maybe 12600K? But it'll be slower in games
Faster in work
will 4080 bottleneck by i7 4th generation? i7 good right?
...now i kinda wish i actually tested that
i tested i7-4790K + 3080
That's about as good as it gets from intel
Wait
No
Part List - Intel Core i7-12700KF, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
now it's about as good as it gets from intel
Lol
It's like, 5% slower in games for like, 40% faster in work?
Lolol
Alr well hope that helps Devi I'm out for now. Big day ahead

Hi, was hoping someone could help me out a bit. I've not really dabbled in networking, hence am a complete newbie to all of this. Recently I moved to a larger house and have noticed a major drop in wifi speeds at the edges of the house. Regardless of whether it's a 2.4ghz or 5ghz band, I get a max of about 20-30 megabit on my 200 megabit plan
I was hoping someone could help me find a way to boost signal strength to those edges of my house while maintaining the speed and latency
#electronics would probably be a better place
I'd say #electronics-and-networking, but...well
Any solution is going to add at least a little bit of latency.
If latency is a major concern then I'd recommend either running ethernet cables or using powerline ethernet. You can add more routers at the end of a powerline network to increase wireless coverage. The disadvantage of powerline is you may lose some speed, depending on the age of your wiring.
A tri band mesh network would be good but adds a little more latency.
I do not recommend using repeaters or extenders.
How about access points, I was recommended using those. Was told they maintain the speed while not really adding to the latency
Sorry, wasn't really sure which one wd b appropriate
Oh no didn't mean that to you, don't mind me, something else
Lol
I agree with Fal, mesh networking is pretty good even if it's a small latency hit
Access points are like, an additional link in the chain? Rather than meshing being a part of the same link as the main router
So the latency is much lower
Hope that makes sense
I see, I don't think that system would be in my budget though
Meshing can be pretty affordable
Ah, so like what's the difference between that and a repeater/extender
Here's an easy comparison, you know christmas lights how they're in a row?
Think of an extender or access point as another christmas light in the row
Whereas a mesh router would be another light side-by-side to the first light instead
My main point of concern w mesh is that I live in India, we hv solid concrete walls instead of those plaster walls you find in the western countries. Hence I'll need multiple mesh devices to get the full coverage. Plus, we have a very heavy tech tariff. So even cheap products r quite expensive here🥲
Ah yeah I know india can be insanely expensive
There isn't really a better way to go about it tho, apart from what fal said with powerline adapters (both adapters need to be on the same circuit) or ethernet
Will I need a new SSID n connection for the new AP or is it just gonna work off the SSID and connection of the main router modem combo?
Otherwise you will be looking at like a 50ms+ latency hit
Depending how you set it up, either or
In my experience you get the freedom of choice
So like i can set it up without having to buy a new connection from my ISP?
And still hold the same speed and latency benefits?
Not the same latency no
Same speed yes
Latency +50ms or more with AP or extender
It's enough to make gaming feel horrible
<Take it from the dummy who tried it lol
Mesh is great, powerline is great, ethernet is great. If you are doing anything latency critical like games, don't do AP
Ah.....well that's sad af. My PC is in one of those edge rooms
I kinda surmised it from the discussion yeah
You really want something that offers you a low latency solution
Yeah
Better to bite the bullet and get the solution known to work well than try being cheap imo
Been there done that
M on a college student budget, so yeah, that's y I want it cheap😭. Got a largeish apartment with 6 other room mates n they ain't willing to pitch in
Lemme see what I can do
Ty fr the help
Heh
Maybe look at stringing a long ethernet then
If anyone complains tell them they weren't willing to help out
💀
(don't take me seriously LOL)
Np
I'd love to give proper recommendations but we don't really have any place for collated info here about it
Nor am I allowed to offer discord links to reputable sources
If you get the basic premise tho then it's fairly easy to be smart about it
Not allowed to on this server or just generally, because if u hv sm good recommendations, I don't mind a DM convo
That much I got a grasp on, should be able to further figure stuff out frm youtube vids n what not
(Take him seriously)
The devil on my shoulder fr
Wh
He had it in a nice build ngl
Why does someone want to buy the build but not the gpu lmfao
If I’m looking at spending more like $800 on a gpu, u guys think amd still the way to go? Don’t care about ray tracing.
Ofc
I’ve been very indecisive about this process lol I might as well just get a bigger gpu now or I’ll be thinking about it forever
US right?
Yep and near MicroCenter
ok ok and do you have a current build?
They have decent deals on the 7900xt but not 7900xtx
Yea, I have a full new build in the works. Everything’s otw
Let me see
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8ZwC6D
7800xt has been ordered from Bestbuy but cancellable
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
You bought all of this alr, can’t return some?
Cause ngl the Samsung ssd is not worth unless you’re doing video editing or something?
Same with sata unless you alr bought.
And I could PROBABLY find you better ddr5 + you have a micro atx w a mesh cover case so it’s likely you won’t even see the rgb on the ram
Also
Where did you buy the 7800x3d?
By SATA do you mean the crucial? Yea, it’s from previous build so irrelevant I suppose
Samsung NVMe I now realized was bad value. Bought from Microcenter. I assume no prob to return.
I got the non rgb version of the ram from Newegg.
I don’t care about RGB at all. I’d rather not have it tbh. I would be annoyed if I had a part with lights that can’t be turned off.
I bought the 7800x3d from Amazon
I don't look at my pc but yeah I have random parts with rgb lmao
I don't want to download software to turn it off so it just runs
When did you buy the ssd?
I should edit the list to be more clear on that but on mobile
Houston
Congrats
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
Hold on
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
Haha I was looking at 6950xt but was talked into 7800xt on here
Recommend to: Return ram & cpu. Why? Microcenter has 599.99 6950xt deal w buying any CPu at microcenter.
Yikes
Might wanna have somebody review your build then 😭
Anyways return ram, aio, and cpu.
Go buy the cpu (if they have it) at microcenter, then get the 6950xt from there aswell, if you gotta price match the cpu do it.
Ram same price but certified Hynix cause of its CL
Iirc there's a really good reason why we suggested the 7800xt
But I can't remember why anymore
I feel like the result strayed a ways off from where we started tho
But the ram aio and ssd I definitely wouldn't have suggested unless the ram was an mc deal
Aio, got at MC
How much were all these things?
I think we need more context
Microcenter prices aren't shown on pcpartpicker
Cpu cooler was $95 which I think is ok? I like how it looks
Samsung nvme I should return
Is the aio and ram not good Felix?
You could keep that if you want
If you need to save money then frozen notte
If the ram was free in a bundle at mc, free is always better
It isn’t
Sec
Sadly you can buy a notte for the same performance at like, 60% of the price lol
Hold on I'll tidy up the list
Oh those might be bacca's sticks
The 6000 cl32's
Specifically cl32
Yes?
It's printed on the sticker on the back of the ram, you can read it on the back of the packet
Ah
I don’t see the cpu much cheaper anywhere else and am looking forward to the starfield code
Here's what tidied up should look like
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
Try cross compare your prices to see what's cheaper and what's not
This is basically like for like
I wish I could remember why we picked this cpu/gpu combo
I feel like there was a really really good reason
@mossy venture do you remember why we did this combo?
There’s value in sticking with what I have where I can. My psu is already mounted lol. It actually works well in the case, the plug orientation is rotated so it it’s much easier to fit
Not a big price diff between 7700 something and 7800x3d
Is the ram I ordered not good?
I need the specific sku to double check
But if its 6000 cl36 then no I would absolutely return
They have a better oloy kit for the same price
Is starfield even worth it
Skyrim fan? Yeah kinda
ND5U1660320BRLDE
Keep it. Good kit
$90.99
Keep it
The pcpartpicker had a different kit
All good
The aio however, if it's not too late, definitely switch
The notte is basically equal to the SE for almost half price
Ssd...yeah I'd switch it if it wasn't $80 or less
980 pro that is
Ya know there was a $20 coupon I had for it and forgot to use.
Which would make it def worth keeping
Wym
There's a couple ssd's I'd pick over a 980 pro tbh
980 pro had the firmware scandal that Samsung offered no warranties for
Basically drives returned en masse for locking people out after a certain amount of time and use
Alternatives...
S70 blade
P41 plus
P31 gold
Sn770
Sn850/sn850x
Xs70
Z440 pro(?)
That should be quite a few options to give you ammo for changing over the ssd
If not the 980 pro for $80 is still decent
2tb
Sorry. The coupon was for the aio
Oh I see
