hotspot issues can generally be fixed with a repaste or, if it's bad enough, a warranty claim
repaste can take as little as literally 5 minutes
all graphics cards can ship with hotspot issues
it's just playing the lottery on whichever you pick
some aren't worse than others (or at least in my limited knowledge I'd say so)
its a non reference card i guess the handfull of reviews are just some had problems. I shouldnt take that as i will have a problem. S
yeah pretty much
Since its not really like the 7900xtx ref which has a few because there was a manufacture error
like I see a lot of reviews about the red devil xtx and coil whine? but then I've also met a ton of people with the red devil and they have no such issue
out of all the reviews like 8 total had high junction temps i would assume ASrock 7900XTX tiachi sold a decent amount so its not like everyone has that problem
yea, pretty much
So basiclly is the normal manufactures sometimes stuff happens and thats the reason they warrenty them
if you find your hotspot is hitting 110C though, then I'd consider warranty or return
it's unlikely however
i guess i worry to much about everything lol
most XTX's operate between about, 60-ish? (water) and about 90-ish (air)
just want to build this PC and enjoy it
I think it's fine to be worried
Clock: GPU / Memory, Boost Clock*: Up to 2680 MHz / 20 Gbps, Game Clock**: 2510 MHz / 20 GbpsKey Specifications, AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX GPU, 24GB GDDR6 on 384-Bit Memory Bus, 96 AMD RDNA™ 3 Compute Units (With Rt+Ai Accelerators), 96MB AMD Infinity Cache™ Technology, PCI® Express 4.0 Support, 3 x 8-pin Power Connectors, 3 x DisplayPort™ 2.1 / 1...
people like you that I wouldn't expect anything to break tbh
and a Taichi is a good card
it's a tier 1 XTX
yep
so highest power limit and performance
I almost bought a white one
costs a bit more than a nitro for white tho so I settled for a nitro+
I've also got a merc310
and I've talked to a LOT of XTX owners
dozens and dozens
it's very uncommon stuff
most people set the card in and go and have zero issues
i wanted to do a Tiachi build and i heard the B650E Tiachi is a great motherboard close to the x670e minus a m.2 slot and something else
also thas thunderbolt too
yep
iirc the taichi has eclk too
which is good for x3d overclocking
you might want to double check that
as long as i dont have to worry about temp problems
i just picked up the Corsair ICue Link kit and AIO for clean cable managment
had the money i wanted to spend with the motherboard and cpu and ram
i dont mind honestly
it can be but so is asus and all others
no like
control modules not registering half the time you turn the pc on
ram not showing up
no RGB Ram
weird features disabled for things like headsets
i have a full corsair ecosystem
my experience personally with icue has been terrible and I have a boatload of stuff
its wierd and said all software sucks in the end
i had huge problems with Gigabyte
MSI and Corsair work great together for what i built for others
These companies need to join up and have 1 single RGB software lol
idk chief maybe if you went to like best buy and got like a refurbished cappellix? I'd say it would be good
cos like
those icue link aios are like, 300 or something crazy
frozen magic thermalright performance basically the same for 70 and has an infinity mirror and noctua fans
I'm a thrift shopper my guy, it hurts my heart

anyway
Yeah I wouldn't stress over the taichi, if anything you might find the 7900X (The cpu) is a little temp happy
not much you can do about it though
the design of AM5 is IHS bottlenecked so throwing an amazing cooler or a pretty average cooler you'll see barely any improvements
cos that IHS is stupid thick
the 7000 series i know likes to run hot
If you saw my flight sim setup you would die
my stick and throttle and rudder pedals cost over 1500
hotas ye?
yep
ye I got a friend with multi-monitor and a hotas
he had a phase with flight sim and elite dangerous lol
can't remember which hotas tho
what do you see looking at this graph?
I see 4 tiers of XTX's and their power draw
and then aqua with the xoc vbios to go YEET
AMD states that the typical power should be 355
i didn't realize there was this much variance between brands
this lines up perfectly with the merc310 thread with all their info yeah
so you could really mess up your pc buying some of these cards if you prepared for just the suggested wattage
mmmm....not really
if you want bleeding edge? yes
but, especially for XTX, more power isn't necessarily better
the best chips have stupidly low asic scores
that's an outrageous amount of wattage xD
which can be independent of wattage
might as well mine some crypto to mitigate the electric bill
or put in solar just for your rig
lolll
the guy in the video even shows hacking a card and running it at 650 watts
ye
evc modding is common on these cards for OC
if you have ample cooling a 7900XTX will match a 4090 but will do it at like, 700+W
when i see the tighter numbers on the left, i see efficiency loll
kinda yeah
I think gaming trio would be one of the only ones I'd avoid
simply cos the phantom gaming is the highest tier and normally the same price
is it a bad card tho? nah
take ray tracing out of the equation, and i bet they're comparable at normal tdp
yes
but even ray tracing in and an XTX grows ever closer to be similar in perf to 4080 just at normal numbers
i don't understand the allure of raytracing, especialy at 4k, when you'll get 30fps in cyberpunk on the best rig xD
did you ever play Black Desert?
the 1 in 10 that use it every day and indulge in it
or the 9 in 10 that use it for a week and never again

nah man, heard of it tho
or dog on every single game and gpu based on how poorly ray tracing is implemented
so there's a super-mega-ultra display mode in the game that has the game prompt you that it's for taking screenshots only, when turning it on
lol
LOL I bet
people complaining about games/gpus that don't handle ray tracing well or at all make me think of people complaining who are trying to play in Black Deserts super-mega-ultra graphics mode
so hey, you wanna take a look at the mobos now?
cos I might need to head off soon
I'll have a look too on pcpp, one sec
Choose A Motherboard
and, from all of the comparisons and tests i've seen between numerous content creators over the years, it seems that if someone wants to enjoy raytracing, they should just play with a $2000 gpu on 1080p
try looking in here
hahaha
pretty much yeah. it's a terrible gauge of performance
i'll look over it! i'm pretty familiar with the ol part picker
it's a window shopper's dream maker
like, i wish content creators would do the gaming community a favor, and quit testing on raytracing
like just an example
only 125 and you get a full white mobo
this is also pretty nice for 170
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/szfxFT/msi-b650-gaming-plus-wifi-atx-am5-motherboard-b650-gaming-plus-wifi
or this
this would be really pushing it tho, but if you really want full mobo aesthetic this is the entry point
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YZgFf7/gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-atx-am5-motherboard-b650-gaming-x-ax
I think MSI has an X670-p for 150 still on B&H?
all these mobos would run a completely unlocked 7950X no problems
actually livemixer is here too tbh
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ckhFf7/asrock-b650-livemixer-atx-am5-motherboard-b650-livemixer
you could use this with a red hyte Y40
full red aesthetic lol
i dont know if i hate or love that mobos look
it's actually a ridiculously good mobo
would argue it's asrock's best in the last few years
💀
i'm actually a fan of blue LEDs loll
i would love white and blue, but i don't think it would fit
we could do a white and blue build
that's actually not too hard
I could make something fairly cheap
give me a couple minutes I'll send a list
if ultra gas is feasible, i'm good with that, otherwise i'm good with plus, but don't hook me up aith that 87 octane petrol xD
ofc my guy
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Pop Mini Air MicroATX Mid Tower
reference for the ram:
OR
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower
i wonder if there's an AMD & Partners ETF https://www.partnerbase.com/amd
oh nice!
lol
could go notte 240 white for the asthetic of an aio if you want to spend the extra $30 for it, it would be purely for the look of it though it's not needed at all on a 7800x3d
oh yeah you could
one sec I'll link that
the notte could go in the side chamber of the o11 air mini perfectly
or frozen magic
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower
ye magic is only like 57$
green is sort of Razer's thing, right?
it can
there is not a single razer product aside from a couple mice I would recommend
but you'd have green fluid
ooh i thought the light was refracted through the liquid
and also yeah same, razer anything just about is a pass nowadays
nah they used a themed liquid
that stuff is messy too
solid colour liquids like that clog up waterloops a lot
it's better to use clear fluids
i could see that...i'm still on the fence about a water cooler
the aio water coolers are fine
you don't need to worry about leaks
they're sealed from the factory so you can't open them
i don't want to liquidate my assets due to a faulty line xD
(or rather difficult to)
yeah I getcha
it's only if you like the aesthetic tho
it would certainly look really good in this build
214xt would be fine, or could go for this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xMLFf7/thermalright-peerless-assassin-120-se-white-argb-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-pa120-se-white-argb
right, i think it looks cool as well, but i've just heard some bad stories
though again not needed over the 214xt
thermalright as a whole is just amazing right now
best price/perf at basically every tier of cooling except high high end
and dual ccd ryzen*
last thing ima link, basically same thing as 214xt just a bit different of a look https://pcpartpicker.com/product/7TddnQ/thermalright-assassin-king-se-argb-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-ak120-se-white-argb-d6-2
ok back
👀

so what you think of the lists my guy?
anything you think you might want to change? or any other questions burning?
only thing I can think of is will the d.f2 handle the transients of xtx?
it's B tier instead of the d.f being a tier
I mean considering nominal power of the system? you'd be using maybe 450-ish watts
it would probably capture the transients
if you trust it I trust it, i trust your judgement
easily fixed by swapping to the gf1 snow instead
and then a white psu instead too
👀
wasn't gf1 moved to B tier too?
I still consider it A tier
fair enough
xpg core reactor I'd say would be next step up, but not white
or is masterwatt A tier?
how much is core reactor
sorry, toughpower
850 is 105
prolly this
bronze?
could also just brute force wattage https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WjcgXL/enermax-revolution-df-2-1050-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ers1050ewt but overpriced for the build
that's A?
yeah that's fair
could always just uv it a bit, better performance and lower spikes
GF1 GF3 should both be fine
D.F.2 I'd expect to be fine too but I haven't done reading on it yet
I think gf3 is actually worse at transients than gf1 but I'm not sure
d.f 2 i think is kinda similar to evga GT, really solid B tier but not good enough to be A
or like cxf
I'm not sure, pato might know
gf3 is?
oh sick
gf1 snow is also A
oh the snow is different than the regular one?
regular gf1 is also A but it lists a revision
D.F 2 is speculative B
so yeah GF1 or GF3 then
we're back to the GF days
gloo ten free
i miss the days when rmx was well priced

650 for $65 750 for $75 and 850 for $100-110
asus tuf was nice too for budget builds when it was like $45
indeed
well until the noble gasses are rescued from war we'll be stuck with these elevated prices 💀
@burnt plaza ?
i'm here, sorry, was doing stuff around the house real quick, up and down, and you guys were talking xD
and i have far too many tabs open and trying to organize them lol
i'd really liek to try out edge's side-screen tabs (idk what they're officially called) bc i get too many and can't read them ofc and sometimes don't even recognize the icon loll
lol it's all good
just cos I wanna make sure you seem pleased with the choices before I head off
lol
It's a full white build with an o11 and like, 99% the same performance
it's almost awe-inspiring. lian li evo white build: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEgLie-LEuQ
no nonono no not the parts just the colors xD
oh the colours?
to earn the right to work
the build I helped you with should be very similar in colour
i need to go back and look through it
you could get custom cables
right
oh no worries I'll link it rq
you should just be able to click "edit this part list"
boop
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower
ye click edit and ask us about some suggestions
not super cheap anymore but still decently priced https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BKJWMQLW?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1
those trident z royals are...beautiful
fun fact about trident z sticks
they fall apart on their own

like literally, one day you'll be playing games
CLANG BANG CLUNK
"WHU-WHAT??"
the external sinks they put on (you know the pretty silver ye), they fall off all on their own quite often
I've had trident neo's fall apart on me myself and I know a few people who've had the experience
if you want g.skills, I'd recommend flare x5 or ripjaws s5
those look cheap but they're actually functionally way better
or if you want something a bit cleaner then the lexar sticks, I'd do teamgroup deltas
kingston fury's are also quite nice
oloys are excellent
teamgroup deltas look really nice imo
oloy imo is a bit over the top, the warhawk i think they're called
yeah this line, i find it obnoxious https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qQzFf7/oloy-warhawk-rgb-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-md4u083618beda
the blades are really nice yeah
yeah definitely not those
though $5 more for a better xmp and gauranteed hynix https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WFVmP6/teamgroup-t-force-delta-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-ff4d532g6000hc30dc01
both the ones you linked are hynix
thought samsung could do 5600c32 now?
oh mb
samsung 5600 is normally 36-36-36-76(?)
@cyan ravine thanks for all your help, i'm still here, just working on multiple things along with your list
why'd your name turn grey and it say "Verified Mod Abuse"? lolll
it's all good don't worry

holy it’s felix birthday
so I'll be dipping in a bit, but I'll still be on pc, give me a ping if you need something
yesno
happy birthday

happy bday felix! 28?
yesn't
uh oh...gettin closer xD
my bf's 29 and already talking like he's having a midlife crisis. i'm like, bruh, chill. lolll. makes me feel old. xD
in spite of how i stated earlier that i appreciate aesthetics, i still value form over function. it's just that, if i find something displeasing to the eye, it will drive me mad...
as for function, if i think i took a budget route thus bottlenecked myself in some way, i will give in and upgrade in some other way lol
doesnt have to look cool to be aesthetically pleasing
i used this case for a while
black box
That’s the laptop
@obsidian wigeon @mossy venture
Only 8gb ver too
I’m definitely trying to haggle down to 200$
Ah man, he said he’s got someone wanting to do 400$ for it 💀
About to order this ssd just wanna make sure it's the right choice, solidigm p44 pro 2tb for a premium no budget
is it somehow different than https://www.newegg.com/corsair-2tb-mp600-pro-nh/p/N82E16820236919?Item=N82E16820236919
Same price
yea, in comparison, the only difference i see is that the solidigm says TDC and the corsair says 3d TDC
i'm not sure if that's anything more than just a marketing thing
like, oh you're TDC, well WE'RE 3D TDC...
where the TD just stands for three dimensional anyways lol
Grab p44 pro, better nand than mp600 pro
good price
and I think an 850 should cover most anything...and platinum efficiency!
maybe this helps
On the pretty expensive side
Efficiency rating isn't completely reflective of the PSU efficiency, every PSU is slightly different, for example, even though the Corsair CX-F is rated for bronze, it exceeds the efficiency requirements for silver, and can match gold
make sure it fits in your system, it's larger than average power supplies
has a 140mm fan and all
also isn't the hx850 kind of old? or have they refreshed it
6.30"x5.91"x3.39"
Hx is a couple of years old, but it's still good
possible you could get new old stock of a unit that's already probably a few years old
just keep that in mind
might not be the best option for "futureproofing"
I really just wouldn't try to "futureproof" a power supply right now
future is uncertain
atx 3.0? atx12vo? both???
who knows how long an overkill power supply today will stay relevant
maybe atx12vo takes over in 5 years
here's another for the same price. rmx series (2021) https://www.newegg.com/corsair-rmx-series-rm850x-cp-9020200-na-850w/p/N82E16817139272
what's your cpu/gpu?
Tbf a nearly 10 year old g2 will do just fine right now, a lot of decent units will last you a long time either way, but new standards might make them incompatible
yeah that's what I was saying
the future is uncertain as far as standards
atx 3.0 psus are already becoming more common now
that can be solved fairly easily with an adapter
but what about atx12vo
I just wouldn't overspend with the intent to keep it for 12 years
Yea
if you got an i9+4090 rig sure 850w is justified
a friend of mine used my old pc until last week...still has this in it from 2014 https://www.newegg.com/evga-110-b2-0850-v1-850w/p/N82E16817438030?Item=N82E16817438030
7800x3d and still deciding on 4090 or 7800 xtx
if you got a midrange rig it's not
850w is pretty overkill for 7800x3d/4090 tbh
7800x3d draws less than 100 watts under max load
ok but standards haven't changed since 2014
now we're at the point where standards may change within the next few years
that's the difference
that's why I asked what your cpu/gpu is
I originally put a CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650 W ATX12V in it in 2013, but died in 2014 lolll
if you have like an i5+4080 there is no reason to overspend on such a psu
750w gf3 should be fine, 110$ with 20$ mir
https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-toughpower-gf3-series-ps-tpd-0750fnfagu-4-750-w/p/N82E16817153439
or 7800x3d and anything
p44 pro is far better
three dimensional three dimensional
lol
three dimensional thermal design current

right...i mentioned that xD
I think it's 3d tlc lol
anyways back to work
like, they just 3D in front to make it look superior? ig
probably
They're all technically 3d
Hell, the p44 pro is more 3d than the mp600 pro
P44 pro used 176 layer tlc, mp600 pro uses 96l layer tlc
oh yea, i guess it is tlc
what price are they tho?
they were the same
oh yeah p44 pro easy choice
109
although the p44 was marked down quite a bit
if gaming though I'd certainly take 670p for $65 for bascially the same experience
while the mp600 was just default 109 iirc
Mp34 2tb for 70$ is also pretty chill, the classic e12 drive
Roughly 30% better than 4080/7900xtx
ooh ya, i wasn't suggesting otherwise haha just pointing out that the psu has lasted forevvvaa lolll and dude has been gaming non stop on that pc since then too loll
yeah it's pretty common for psus from 2010 to still be chugging along at the moment
Didn't hx come out in like 2011?
as long as you aren't expecting them to handle the transient spikes of a 3090
Or axi?
something like that
@little osprey it's not a great price, but white 7800xt in stock for $540 https://shop.asus.com/us/90yv0jp0-m0aa00-asus-tuf-gaming-radeontm-rx-7800-xt-white-oc-edition-16gb-gddr6.html
Axial-tech fans scaled up to deliver 24% more airflow
Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as conventional designs
Military-grade capacitors rated for 20K hours at 105C make the GPU power rail more durable
Metal Exoskeleton adds structural rigidity and vents to increase heat dissipation
Auto-Extreme precision automated manu...
Best price/perf you'll get a white gpu for right now aside from used
Hell yea, thank you. Thanks for keeping me in mind
The other one I was looking at is a 12GB $570
Much appreciated
3080 12gb I'd say is around 5-10% better than 7800xt
What psu should I get if I did 13600k + 6950xt on a z690 ddr4
Any A or B 850w right?
750w would be fine, but right now I'd recc d.f 2 850w
$90 B tier
Otherwise there's gf3 750w for I think $95, or xpg core reactor 850 for $105
There isn’t any that are the same price, color doesn’t matter
Then I'd say your choices are 3080 10gb open box/refurb, 6800xt, 7800xt, 6950xt, or used
3080 12gb at $570 is meh compared to $405-430 3080 10gb
Do either of these brands offer a anti sag bracket?
Anti sag brackets don't have to be from the same brand as the manufacturer
You could make one out of Legos and it'd function the same
Unless you're asking if they come with one?
I mean, I know some 4090's come with some
I would prefer it does, but it's not the end of the world if they don't
The new slim cards come with them
XFX?
The aibs website should say what's included in the box
?
Like, gigabytes website
Ooooh okay
smh I want my gpu to be strix, my sag bracket to be strix, and my gravity to be strix
Strix equals performance
We ran into other issues😅 and had to get going. (We moved the ram, and swapped SATA connectors, andthe screen didnt turn on) we un did everything we did (swapped back to the same SATA and Ram slot) and the screen didnt turn on again (i tried the connection and restarting) we are going to go again on Monday.
Smh, Tuf>>>>
NO! strix cost more money so it's more better
betterer
That’s Tuf
that's why I bought scalped GPU! they cost more so they are better than retail
Strix
damn
Hmm, should I build a proart PC?
why buy $700 3080 when you can buy $1900 3080
Why buy $700 3080 when $50 GT710, it’s NVidia it’s already better than the 7900xtx
$50 gt710? why not a $100 gt710
NO! bigger number better
$25 HD6800 then
thats a gorgeous card
@mossy venture @earnest olive I have bought the parts thank you so much
Just bought it!
You have to talk here if you want to comment on my build
i was wondering what the naming scheme for m.2s was. like what's the difference in Samsung 970 Evo and Samsung 980 Evo or WD Black SN850 and WD Black SN750 and whats a good price for ssds
That last question I'd love to answer
Definitely not any of the 4 you're curious about lol
Good price would vary on your use
Doing like, large data, video editing? Get a gen 4 m.2. Rarely even a gen 5 would make any sense
A fast one
But for basically everyone else? Just the cheapest best
670p 2tb is like, $63? And a solid pick
Or msi m450 1tb for $27
yea dont be like me and avoid 980s
well the tangible benefits of going for a premium ssd for anything else is basically nill
you get a faster windows, and in the rare, rare instance faster copying over of maybe a game or something from another drive
oh those were just the first to pop up when i looked em up
not worth the time of anything extra, even in the case of games with directstorage (the improvements are minimal at best)
all good, not singling you out or anything
just clearing the air on those cos they're hot choices lol
yea im just confust cause theres a lot of different names and i dont understand
gpus cpus mobos all make enough since but go no clues with storage
ok thx
It's good you think that way cos the marketing on storage is the biggest misleader in pc marketing imo
second only to like, psu's
whats up with psus?
so you know how they say like, "GOLD" "SILVER" "PLATINUM"
and "High quality japanese capacitors"
yadda yadda
yea
that's all a measure of efficiency
not quality
so the things you actually want to worry about, they never market lmao
like over volt protection
over current protection
transient protection
surge protection
etc etc
all those things they never talk about
you could have a bronze psu and it's actually far safer than a gold psu for this reason
can you figure them out or are you just out of luck
kk thx for the info
enjoy
❤️ I did switch over to this https://shop.asus.com/us/90yv0jp0-m0aa00-asus-tuf-gaming-radeontm-rx-7800-xt-white-oc-edition-16gb-gddr6.html, but your awesome
that is a pretty clean looking card
did some research and Bacca was true. You guys are awesome
just realized (a little late) that I can't do a white build with this black 7900xtx loll
i definitely don't want to go with a monochrome theme uggghh
You could always paint the shroud if you weren't afraid to disassemble
Or vertical mount would pop off a lot of the white
You won't get a mono black build either with that trio lol
There's always the tier list that you can cross reference with https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/
i just don't want it like transformer style banded colors xD
not a fan of that really
however, maybe an accent...if there were another accent
ok i'm falling asleep pumping bumping into things around the house
Try for (used) 60 ti or 6700 (XT), but yes.
I mean, that's true, I'm sure it would look great no matter what!
I was actually greatly considering the vertical mount...that's one of the selling points!
is C tier 650 watts for a RX 6800 good
thermaltake grand rgb
Isn't that B tier?
don’t think so
oh wow
Than a third variant with some other letters in the name is C tier
But how much is the psu?
Is it the $75 one after the rebate
yes
One sec
If you'd be willing, this is $90 and no rebate for a better psu and 200w headroom https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FKZXsY/enermax-revolution-df-2-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ers850ewt
The tough power rgb gold would be fine with a 6800 though
i guess I can spare some munney
Just because rebates are annoying, takes up to a few months to get the $15
I just realized it is a rebate
I'm stupid lol
I don't think I got to cash in my 450br rebate
Then probably just the tough power rgb
Best option without a rebate is https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3jX2FT/thermaltake-toughpower-gold-750w-80-gold-certified-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-tp-750m
So, we were playing with it today, and got a new SSD of the same type. We tried to install windows, and it found both SSDs this time. So now it has 4TBs of SSDs.
But now we are having issues as the MB which has Wifi Capabilities is not getting wifi.
You can't get wifi until you get the drivers for it
Even tho its in the same room. Going to try checking if we have Bluetooth tomorrow.
We only found the LAN drivers for the Arourus 650. We found the drivers for WLAN 550.
Gonna call their tech support tomorrow.
On a AMD computer so guessing mediatek? Its just built into the MB.
Amd can use intel wifi
Though mobo manufacturers do tend to use the cheaper mediatek
Just to confirm, you have the b650 elite ax?
Non ax doesn't have wifi
Thats the 1
We have the elite AX
I can check more tommorrow.
The wifi drivers are there
Wlan+bt tab
That is extremely helpful, thank you very much😅
We are going to try installing those drivers via flashdrive.
Pick the amd ones I guess, idk why there are intel ones there as well lmao
Yeah that'll work
Alright will do. Will let you know what happens tomorrow (at my work place not home)
Alr
Perhaps just get the newest driver. If you're wondering why there's also Intel drivers listed for an amd mobo:
Because Intel also makes WiFi chipsets and even AMD boards can use them
i mean why was there intel and amd drivers on the same page
i know that intel makes wifi chipsets that work on amd, i've even mentioned it earlier, but this confuses me lmao
Yeah, it's because that's the chipsets they might use. The same model board might have 4 different chipset options.
ig just have to try them all and only one won't fail
💀
You can tell in device manager too
average consumers probably don't know about device manager
I knew about device manager when I was 8 though
I also fought my way through manually allocating resources in bios so I could use my joystick on the game port
So maybe I don't count still
that was a different era of computing
had to know something about computers to use them
yeah
imagine actually having to know anything about your machine
decrepit old man
smh
People like to joke about me being the second oldest out of the regulars
I'm ok with it lol
I don't think my arthritis will let me
it's okay i am also a decrepit old man
if he beats me up i'm just going to crumble into a pile of dust
do wifi mobos’s comes with Bluetooth
yes
ok
if that happens, I will take his side
decrepit men
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TbTdmD what am i forgetting? i own the SSD and GPU already. Will probably spend around $500 on an upgraded GPU before the year ends.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 2070, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
I would opt for a different case
Why? I like the size of the AP201
@round cloud do you wantclike basic atx? Micro atx?
I have no strict requirements, but want to keep things on the smaller side
Originally i was looking at small form factor, but decided to upgrade to "medium" form
And what gpu do you think of getting?
Like 6800xt? 6950xt?
7800xt, or even nivida counterparts?
Probably 6950xt or something
@round cloud cause there’s some good deals w the list I have of your build, just I wanna know what card so I could find like a microatx case that’ll work for you
Okok
I'm also in no rush and like good deals. But I like name brand stuff
And are you 100% you want an AIO at 240?
There’s a psu I want you to buy in #tech-deals
1000w B tier for 89.99 on amazon
70 percent sure.
That’s like over kill but it’s real good price
Cool and quiet for a little more money sounds good. Not sure about upkeep.
Ngl a pa120 se might do, otherwise you could go 360
Also
The thing that makes the most sound in my computer is my gpu, I got a pa120 se and you can barely hear it
Sure during the night it’s more obvious but it’s more like white sound yk? It blends in
i'd spend slightly more to get a gpu with a better fan or whatever
Hmm alright hold on
AP201 is fine
It's quite good actually
338mm
I helped make this list
Ya man, you change the psu config you can get basically to the very end of the case
As long as a 360 aio
True
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 2070, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
I mean i dont necessarily need 6950
Idk if that would work out even.
But like, a step down from the top of the line stuff is what Im thinkin
True but like, your going for a 7800x3d 😭
Nah if you use the 360 rad you'll cut off the gpu
240 then should work?
The 7800x3d works on a stock cooler it doesn't need anything serious
Practically cool it with an ice cube
What abt psu?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 2070, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
This to me would be really good but it's barely even a sidestep from what he has
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vZr27R
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
I would only swap from the rmx psu really
150mm
130 is way too much for a 850w @round cloud
Hmmm
Unless you have a glass panel
I suppose? But you can kinda see through the mesh
Otherwise rgb is gonna glow
It's the same price anyway
That's the same lol
2$ is a lot lmao, that’s an arizona tea right there
Why are yall adding NVMe drives?
Stick of gum here
In case you were looking for a slight storage upgrade
^
Not needed no
I'd love to see someone do this, like flip it upside down so it doesn't drip
Plus I think it’d be a better idea
To have like a boot drive on an nvme than an sata
Honestly what you had was really good mike just swap the psu to one of the ones we suggested
I've read some stuff on the internet about the PSU being difficult/weird to fit so kinda wanted to go with a smaller one but TBH IDK
Ye udgm and gf1 snow I believe are very short
SATA drives are the same price as NVMe these days
Also go to a620m motherboard over b650m imo
They're basically identical motherboards
1's 25$ cheaper
Udgm is 150mm
What’s the difference anyways
Slight IO difference, performance is identical
Thx for ur help guys
Yep
So basically no benefits whatsoever
And that's even if you consider ryzen cpu oc to give anything meaningful
It really doesn't
At least in a gaming sense anyway
Generally, you're right. +200 MHz on a 4.8GHz processor is only +4%
In testing in games it's normally identical or sometimes worse
Nope
Ah
And gen 5 ssd's are hot piles of trash for basically only movie editors
Does wifi matter on a mobo? Is the quality all pretty standard? unfortuantely no hard wire atm
There's some SSDs that can use 5.0 but they're really hot and I wouldn't use them day to day
I’d prefer wifi built on a board then buying a kit
Intel wifi on AMD mobo confuses people sometimes lol
I have a new router that prob has whatever new features etc
my 8700 2070 setup is like
just starting to not be enough
i can probably wait a bit
but
you know
2070 is a little bit getting on now
Looking at a comfortable 1080p experience with it
Yea im locked into 1440p
At least it's new enough to use DLSS
Yeah you'd want to upgrade soon then
How much more could you stretch budget mike? I could fit a gpu in this for a bit more
Good old DLSS balanced mode should get you to 1440p in most games, barring extreme ones like we've seen recently
What do u guys think of my upgrade plan? Is the 7800x3d overkill
It's very overkill but you'd have something insane for a long time
Use that money to buy a better gpu
It's overkill now, but it'll keep you from needing to upgrade any time in the next 5 years or so
Let's see if I can fit that 6800xt in for a $200 stretch
On the other other hand, AM5 is supposed to be another long life platform so we expect another 3 gens or so
so maybe like 7700x and a $600-$700 GPU?
It should be like a620, 7600, prolly a assassin or king cooler?
Maybe but 7600 is = 13600k in single core
Ofc multi core 13600k shreds
@round cloud can you stretch for 170 more
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qghn7R
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
Or 150 more
But unless you’re playing Val or doing some editing then you’d have to worry
Isn’t thermalright assassin 6 pipe 1 fan better?
why do we have 3 fans
?
We don't need anything excessive
7800x3d uses 88w max
You can stick it in a thin n lite laptop
It's a really cold CPU it's not like 5800x3d
I would sugest a diff case
No need for anything more than a stock cooler below the 7900 tbh
Nono, I meant like this
yea why not
Seem better?
hey do you guys wanna see my setup
If I was you the case should be changed
sure
What's wrong with the case
FINAL BUILD - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
All built?
i have eyes on a better psu for only 15 dollars more but its out of stock rn so
I just would rather in my opinion have a case that comes with extra fans yk?
nah the psu, cpu, and gpu are still not there yet
i havent even got them yet so
yeah
He likes the case so a 3 pack of c12c's is fine if he even needs it. Mesh sides mean pushing airflow is not really necessary
understandable
yeah its the super flower leadex gold III
Looks good then tbh. Not perfect but very good
Nono the psu in #tech-deals
yeah i think its pretty nice for the thousand dollar budget im trying to stick to
My wants in a case: smaller, non descript (i dont want it to look like a gamer case), easy to work with, decent to good airflow, preferably no glass
But otherwise your pc looks fine
no i meant on the site
not like me seeing it on tech deals
Ooooh.
i mean it was listed on pc part picker for around 73 dollars
Ap201 is one of the cheapest for this so yeah
Not the apevia?
For your specs the apevia would be fine
yeah i will get the apevia probably
i might aswell spend the rest on my windows key and adapter
the monitor is very generic
60 hz, more of a office one really
Don't need to buy a windows key my guy
it was a hand me down and only does vga so i would also need a adapter
ik but like still
Dame una elaboracion
I'm not allowed to say how you get by this in this discord but you can
ohh
you can dm me
dm e I can help
the bare os or the key
The Windows 10 download
ohh
ima just order a flash drive with my parts
If you're ok with sometimes getting a watermark on your screen and not being able to use the "personalization" menu then yeah you don't need to activate windows
ok so theres a github download that can give you a activation script for it?
command prompt is your friend
You don't even need that really
na you just need a website
so is the unholy method to get a windows key illegal or naw
You literally don't even need a key, or to activate it using illicit means
You can just run the installer and tell it you'll activate later, and just never activate
true
@potent portal All you need is 1 download, a flash drive, and command prompt
alright
what does windows 11 ready mean on the asus tur b550
windows 11 works with it
ok
Means it meets the basic specs for win11 to work
Which is basically just an ftpm and a working cpu coupled* with it
motherboards with win 11 installed??
No
.
they just got in the bios and made it win11 ready xD

Even if the box doesn't say it, a new enough mobo is win 11 ready
Just a marketing sticker
If windows 11 doesnt work thats a problom 💀
I remember people buying expensive x570's and z590's purely for windows 11 when it dropped
Like bruh
@cyan ravine I was told to make a 4k gaming PC 💀
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Cooler Master HAF 700 EVO ATX Full Tower
Fix it
plz
yea, i would imagine new bios versions for any mobos or new mobos in general would just be win11 ready ...already.
I never had to deal with such high prices
What the
well most of it is that ridiculous gpu
why do ppl kep up with the nvidia racket
whats a good price for this?
$1000, Drew
closest price without going over xD
Felix can find it for half that somehow
brooooo 😔
bro im literally not smart with pcs
i didn't look it up yet...i just did like...a mental guesstimate
Is the kit mixed?
Did you buy the RAM in a 2x16 kit
That's about $700 minimum. New-ish build tho, yeah you could sell that for $1000
The absolute most I would so https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vCQ8MV
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Corsair 7000D AIRFLOW ATX Full Tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, BitFenix Nova Mesh M ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
yes
Then it’s not mixed
7950x3d not worth over 7800x3d in a gaming only build
bro ur joking i spent so much on it 😔
800 more
my thought process going down the list was, 200, 100-120, 50, 100, 100, 100, 100, 200

they want a 4k gaming pc, so you can go ham and upgrade anything you want
That is upgraded
That's literally as fast as it gets lol
they want it to be 4k, so you can upgrade stuff
you mean $4k or 4k?
it's as fast as it gets
idk make the motherboard 500 dollars 💀
AM4 is a socket no longer getting new CPU’s and like I pointed out the cooler on the GPU is lower end so both of those factors are gonna effect resale price
they want a 4k one idk
Yeah def spending unnecessarily
THEy want a NASA computer
There's not really better than the list I sent
