apevia prestige got the ketchup and mustard cables
Then one sec
yay
Lemme see if I can fit that monitor and 6700xt in budget
This is as good as the Prestige, and I believe all black cables https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8LNxFT/msi-mag-a-bn-650-w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-mag-a650bn
Part List - Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
So $8 over budget, you could leave the fans out for now and add them later if the budget is strictly $1000
couldnt i try to find a 2 pack
2 packs aren't really a thing
The case would be fine with just the one fan for now
Not like you're running super hot components
oh ok
Or you could get a different case, that comes with more fans
There's some options around $55-60
Like cougar mesh archon, comes with I think 3 and is $57
eh
Though you could also look for case options at your microcenter
Actually I'd look for every part at microcenter, not those specific ones just similar ones, like any model 6700xt, if there's any there that are cheaper
Or any similar performing gpu
Ssd I doubt there'd be cheaper at microcenter
Potentially a better psu for a similar price
How much?
If its more than the g300a or archon nah
Yeah not worth
Maybe gpu or psu though?
If they do have any cheaper psus just make sure you look for them on the tier list
C tier or higher
alr
honestly i might just get the g300a and stay with 1 fan for a bit
is that msi psu c or higher
I'll double check but unless it was moved its C tier
i dont really neeed anything higher then c
aw damn
5600x3d won't go over 80w in gaming, for the sake of the estimate let's call it 100w
Nah
320w from cpu and gpu, at most 50w (grossly overestimating here) means you'll be pulling under 400w
which means i need
A 650w C tier is fine
oh ok
Soon to have a 5600x3d 6700xt I believe
soon to have
I've no idea if they have a pc as of right now
Is there a pcpp?
i hate it
This I believe
Probably without the fans for now
most likely
Oh you could also look for fans at mc
Not a clue what they'd have but can't hurt to look
bet
Eh, varies location to location
overpriced or very good deal
Odds are there won't be anything worth it but why not take a look
30 dollars a fan is crazy
Could get this and use the second fan as a case fan lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BTpQzy/thermalright-assassin-x-120-refined-se-plus-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-ax120r-se-plus-d6
With a 6700xt and 5600x3d it isn't the worst thing ever
It won't be ideal but they won't be throttling
And they're going to add fans when they can
yes
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Can also find some dirt cheap fans on fbm likely
Si
They want the g300a, they like the look
It’s practically the same thing ngl
And with the combo can't really change the mobo, unless there's a different 5600x3d bundle?
Just atx
i like the price
I believe you’re able to ask for a mobo of same price or below
Cause you could say “my movo doesn’t fit” and they’ll understand
wait what
Interesting
wrd
W/e, either way
I mean mobo
They should
The mobo there fits the g300a
I saw some guy buying 6 4060’s walking out
Only do that if you want a smaller case
oh yeah
Yes, but if he wants a smaller case
Rip to that dude
wrd
if the bitfenix nova mesh was in stock i would get it instead
Everything loads slow
smol micro atx
Don’t get this btw
If you ever thought
Or don’t even recommend
I think air 100 is oos
Biggest metal piece of crap
The cheap one anyways
are you saying that from experience
micro center
My friend bought and I built in it
oh
dayum
Lightly bump into it? It’ll dent
I mean, that's kinda what you get with most cougar/montech and similar brand cases
Cheap cases are cheaply made
They had montech on display at my store
It was real nice quality
Unless that’s the display model itself
There's some decent cases by those brands
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
But cheap cases are made with cheap parts, the g300a is nice because phanteks didn't cheap out on it
i can get the cpu mobo and ram for 275 cause of coupon
Oh right
unless micro center allows multiple coupons
That's great
ikr
No it’s only one
eh
Wait
good enough
But is it 25$ off cpu or 25$ off everything?
lemme check
Do they allow multiple coupons if you get multiple items?
Ah damn
He could do separate
Do separate orders, 25$ off cpu for new customers on your bundle
ers
Then do the 25$ off 100+ for gpu if you get it at mc
thats pretty rad
wait thats a thing
I love myself some desparate transactions (pulling your leg)
Make sure you get starfield with your
gpu
Bingo
i can get it all in one visit tho right
Yup
alr
Just walk out, walk back in.
If you ever think of getting a smaller mobo though ^
i dont see a gpu coupon but theres is a coupon for submitting a build
is the air 100 good
That’s off anything
yeah
Got a question, my AOI came with fans on the same side as the tubes to the radiator , they blow out the front across the radiator , no way to mount it on the top due to not enough venting,
I got told I needed to turn the fans around to pull air in across the radiator, so question is, should I turn the fans around or or leave them as they are, or put them on the other side of the radiator?
i dont got a build tho
The 25$ off 100$+ order is your gpu coupon
I submitted somebody’s build
Just a random one lol
do you need pictures or
Ye
https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/specialofferallprocessorstext.aspx? Use this coupon for the cpu
Do
ok
5600x3d bundle unbeatable for that price
true
This is like 20% worse cpu performance and its barely cheaper https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qzxz78
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600
Though it does have more ram
Also worse mobo
The cheapest one aside from mech 2x
If you like the aesthetic of one $10 more is reasonable
Mech 2x is the worst model
oh
I dont even think they made anything over a 6650xt of it
alr
Its ass
I miss 6700xt being $310 consistently
shame that i just started getting into the pc building world thingy
around
prime day

6750xt isn't worth much over 6700xt
Theyre very similar
yeah im probably gonna get the 6700 xt challenger with the coupon
if it was still 310 i would be getting it for 290
no
285 i think
How much is it after the coupon?
dubs
Potentially could even upgrade ram now
Or go for a better psu, whichever you'd want
more ram maybe
Would just either get an identical kit as the ram that comes in the bundle and run 4 sticks, or sell it and buy a 2x16 kit
4x8 3200mhz should easily run on an 5000 series cpu
Also on an x3d cpu, unlike on other am4 cpus, 3200mhz vs 3600mhz makes almost no difference
They both equal 32gb
true
Normally less sticks is easier to run, but in this case i can say almost for certain it won't matter
Can't say for certain
Since there's always a chance for pretty much anything
what 2x16 sticks would you recommend
Would you like rgb? And or black?
rgb
Kk few min

Probably
the xpower one looks pretty cool
wait theres a p300a?
G300A
I see you have taste
noice
Phanteks cases are pretty nice to build in
fractal's also pretty nice
haven't tried lianli
yeah im building my 1st in a G300A
true
what is the appeal of NZXT cases
they look good tho NGL
wow
airflow is mid at best
bonkers
depends on what parts you put in them tho
it would be fine if the restricted airflow isn't a problem
they do have airflow variants of their cases
if they costed less they would be better
yeah
that's why i go with phanteks or fractal
you get a better case for the same price
i was gonna go with bitfenix but they’re all out of stock
True
crazy

gratz foxxy, i knew you could do it
Can I build a pc with no graphics card but with integrated graphics until I get a graphics card later?
But I need a good build which I can use for later as well
i mean, what are you using the pc for?
I don’t wanna upgrade until maybe 5-6 years but play every game
and can you show the build here?
you'd be spending more than $1000 for that
Gaming, multitasking and college
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, Apevia Prodigy MicroATX Mini Tower
I'd change some stuff around, but not a bad list
Ok change some and send me it
it has 64gb of ram in there, you don't want that
Thank you
Yeah I know but the rip jaws one was out of stock
I’m not gonna buy 64 gigs
kk
$1273 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7zzHh3
Though, by the time you're buying your gpu, the 7800xt will be out at $500
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
that would be a better option
Ok
Why not the case I picked
g300a is nicer but if you like the one you picked go for it
if you just want rgb there's rgb of those fans for $6 more
Ok also does 7600 have integrated graphics
yeah all of the am5 lineup does aside from 7500f
Alright
Also why not the corsair power supply
extra 100w and same tier, for same price
Alright
Will the noctua NH-D15S be enough for a 7900x
Yes but it's overpriced
Ps120 se is just as good and cheaper
Or thermalright frozen notte 240, 360 is cheaper than d15 too and much better
Or pa120se, ft120, fc140, etc
can get it for 60
looking to stay with noctua
im concered about temps will i overheat or have problems
also i have some credit on amazon that brings it close to that price
Noctua is overpriced
The ps120 se is just as good as the d15.
Potentially better
Better than d15.
In fact with the c12c's it uses it's as good or otherwise better on basically all levels
For $36 or so instead of lord knows what a d15 costs in 2023 lmao
more expensive doesn't always mean more better anyway
especially not with noctua these days
Noctua dethroned?
noctua's only saving grace is the silence of their fans
and that's only the one advantage they have, which doesn't even justify the price tags anymore
inb4 AK620 with noctua black fans
allegedly a refreshed D15 is coming soon?...
yeah, but that's probably gonna still be overpriced anyway
and i doubt it would perform much better
there's zero sense in buying noctuas
" the second-generation NH-D15 has a fin pitch of 1.6mm instead of 1.9mm, equivalent to 20% more surface area for improved heat dissipation'"
along with 2 more heatpipes
doesn't translate to 20% better heat dissipation tho
it will bring temps down sure but like
is the price tag gonna even be worth justifying it?
at that point the amount of money might as well be spent on an aio
OOF
then again
$99
it's not out until Q2 2024 so
yeah no you can literally get good aios for that money
oh wait
my bad
that's just TomsHardware speculating
Noctua gave no specific price tag for it
99 doesn't sound out of place for noctua
I am sorry
they act as that "premium" brand
they might move it down to 89 if they really wanna compete
that still isn't even competing
tbf we'll just have to wait and see until GN tests it thoroughly and we'll also see the price tag then
it can be really good if the price isn't outrageous
but it is Noctua so who knows
I can check
and that's outperformed by some thermalrights
59.95 on Amazon.com full price
on sale for 54.95 currently
without shipping
ouch
Yeah it's a
i doubt noctua will price it fairly
Not great deal for the U12 Redux
at least $90
we'll see
not we'll see, it's literally doomed to fail value wise
I'm simply saying miracles exist
not with noctua
until it starts beating aios i'll consider it
but frankly aios do look nicer anyway, personally speaking
AIOs are pretty sexy yes
But if anything breaks you're SOL
hence warranty
or just get a thermalright and slap noctua fans in if you feel so inclined
or thermalright fans again, since there's fans from them that uses same oem as noctua
B12 are basically the a12x25s ye
I’ve got this EVGA600B PSU but I see it’s rated tier F on the PSU tier list even tho it’s an 80+ Bronze rated and from a reputable brand. I bought it used as part of a bulk buy and I’m wondering if I am able to use it for a flip or not?
Lmk what you think
reputable brand doesn't mean much
I've seen pictures of house fires caused by evga n1/w1 units
that bad huh
theoretically it could happen with the best power supply money can buy
just the higher quality unit you buy the less that risk becomes
with high or even mid quality power supplies the risk of a failure that catastrophic is effectively 0
due to the protections
but like
no power supply is gonna stand up to something crazy like a lightning strike lol
it’s hard to speak in absolutes
it’s perfectly possible that you use an F tier power supply for 12 years with zero issues whatsoever
it’s also perfectly possible that an RM850 suffers a catastrophic failure within a month
the point of a higher quality unit is that you’ll have better chances when disaster does occur
I literally blew up a 2060 on my test bench a few weeks ago
like, an actual flame coming out of the graphics card
the rest of my system was completely undamaged by it
if it was hooked up to a worse power supply maybe some other parts of the system would be damaged
atleast it didnt blow up everything
how old was the 2060
high quality power supplies will shut down quickly when something goes out of spec
so would a power supply in the middle be better
low quality power supplies might not react quickly enough so other things get damaged
better in what way
oh
obviously high quality is better objectively
but you also don’t want to spend a ton of your budget on a $120 psu for a $600 build
true
luckily budget builds usually draw less power so the power supply being a bit weaker is okay
it gets more difficult when your budget build consists of older high end hardware
like a 1080ti is a budget card these days
but it still demands quite a bit of power
I wouldn’t be very comfortable pairing a 1080ti with an apevia prestige
on a tight budget some people gotta do it
but hey
the extra 25 dollars is worth it
nobody likes c4
yeah I’d probably be looking to save money buying a higher quality unit used instead
if that was my situation
yes, but have to tread more carefully than usual
Ask them to run benchmarks on it 😎
I’ve bought a few used psus that were great
evga b-stock is also often a nice place to get used power supplies with a bit more confidence behind them
sometimes they have crazy deals like used EVGA 750 GT for $50 with 1 year warranty
you could definitely power a 1080ti with that
Buying an aresgame psu
750 GT would be a comfortable pairing with like a 4080 lol
1080ti is nominally a 250W card
in practice my 1080ti drew more power than my current 4080 does
my old 1080ti drew 370W
wow
my current 4080 is bios modded to have a 420W power limit yet seldom exceeds 350W
yeah it's still quite a good performer
you can still run all games on the 1080ti
time to go out, take care
Do y’all think this motherboard will still works
All the way to the left
It’s a little out of place
If it's just a signle pin it's more than likely you can just bend it back into place
And should function as normal
I think another one is a little out of place
I think I did it while taking out a cpu
I've dealt with this on the CPU end of things
Should I buy 6700xt for 250 used?
About average price depending on the card model
If it slides in with no issues then yes
If not then go back and check
I think he means if it fits inside, but it’ll always fit even if a pin is bent bc it’s lga
that could be a ground pin or extra pin and not really do anything
Sorry I'm thinking AMD
I just got off work and I'm not thinking straight
Alright, give it a test
I don't believe anything should go wrong if it doesn't work
If it posts let me know
Keep the black lid thing that came with the board, it’s used for warranty and exchange iirc
It's just good to keep for reselling too
It’s not a new board
Ah okay
I took the whole pc apart
And when I took out the cpu I saw the bottom left looked a little off
I mean if it’s like a little it should be ok but idk
Do I need to put a cooler on the cpu
Your image is kinda blurry so I can’t really tell how bent it is, I’d try seeing if it works before bending
Yes and thermal paste
For testing
Every time I use thermal paste I get it everywhere
U put an x on the cpu then u clean it afterwards with 90% acholol
And a paper towel
I just gotta see if it posts
I’m giving it to my friend tomorrow
I’m hoping it works
It should
Wasn’t bad as mine
I keep thinking the middle is broken but it isn’t
You get thermal paste in it
The latch had some on it, took it off and it fell off into the board ig, got it off and still works
Tbh I might get a new board
Use a metal spoon to remove the thermal paste
That was old photo man
Used a sewing needle
Mhmh
I was kidding btw
Don't use metal stuff on pc parts, especially more sensitive and delicate parts like the socket
I believe it's been seen before to work with quite a bit of paste in the socket.
Yup, plus I got a few bent pins
Not worth the risk of bending it if it’s non conductive and doesn’t affect anything
Nvm
Didn’t read that u said kidding
Do you need that much storage? And what is it for
its a just in case
but i can probably remove it for a 2tb
hdd
You don’t need allat storage unless you like download a lot of stuff
yeah
1tb or 2tb ssd is good
is it for gaming
what is its main purpose
work/games
ahh
Get a better cpu and remove hdd
nothing heavy on games tho
i feel like cpu is good enough as is though
If it’s for work I think better cpu is better
nah its fine
yeah
Depends on what work tho
eh
id rather have more storage
ok
oh
more ram maybe
This is an A tier right?
@stark marlin what games are you playing?
And what resolution
Um
Just valorant and StarCraft lol
A little bit of rocket league and overwatch too
I would change a good bit
whats wrong with it?
Choose Your Parts
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Wrong link the first time sorry
6800xt beats the 3080/4070
Let alone the 3060
That mobo doesn't have wifi in it, you'd need a separate adapter
but the rest looks rly good
oh ok
6700xt is some 30% better than the 3060 12gb
Or the 6700 is closer (under) to the 3060 pricing, for still 20-25% better perf
oh ok
Though if you want an nvidia gpu, 3060 ti is $320
ohhhh alr
Not as good value as 6700xt still, but if you need an nvidia gpu for anything it's the cheapest nvidia gpu worth it new
ok
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
That’s rad
Also
No need for a harddrive
Just get an external m.2 thingy (30$) and an m.2 nvme
ssds are better tho for speed right.?
It really depends on the use case
Well yes they are significantly faster
It just depends on what you do on the drive
does it boost google speed
What
Yes
What kind of question is that?
pls answer
Unless you're using a IDE hard drive from the 90s
You won't notice a difference
But as I said
Depends on use case
There are games that would heavily benefit from having a ssd
Such as Microsoft Flight Simulator
ah
But if it's an older game like Rainbow Six Siege
Doesn't matter that much
Unless you got a really crappy and fragmented hard drive
And for google chrome
That's more a combination of your CPU, RAM and internet speed
wait so things download faster with ssds?
so what runs faster with ssds
what affects that
ok
If your internet speed is slower than your hard drive then it won't matter how fast your ssd is
literally everything
but here's the thing
I got a question
yea
would you really notice the difference between microsoft word running on a hard drive and microsoft word running on a ssd?
no
no
assuming that the drive is at least 150Mbps and is not fragmented
but
however
Newer AAA titles would benefit from a ssd
so that's where you would actually see a difference
yeah
It really depends on what you do on your drive
but generally
HDDs are better for storage and archive
i mean im going for one tb ssd for my setup
SSDs are better if you access the data in your drive offten
same
I usually pair my ssd with at least one hard drive
ill upgrade my setup overtime tho and ill prob eventually upgrade to three tb of storage
hey
im thinking of selling my laptop to get an extra 75-100 bucks towards my setup goal
im on the fence tho since my laptop could be used for work outside of school
Get hdd or some
How much storage do you need bro holy
What’s nas?
Rookie numbers I get 700kb
Ah
here's the thing
Isn’t it Better tho?
how much is ethernet btw
I know those drives are capable of at lest 100MBps
Depends on how much of a long cable you need
ethernet cables are cheap
yeah
a cat 5e or a cat 6 cable should do
bye
progress is progress
that sounds reasonable
true
what are you doing on the pc?
1000 for pc and the extra 200 for monitor and misc components
Gaming, college and multitasking
I get 100 per week
So I’ll get it soon
which one will you do the most
college?
Prob game since I’m still in hs rn
ok
a gaming laptop might be more suitable for that
College work and all that
I have laptop already plus I hate gaming laptops
If you have to move around a lot
They’re so bad and heavy
Naw my college is like 5 minutes away on bike
oh
I can prob buy a iPad or some and I’m chilling
alright
do you have the parts in mind
I'd make a new parts list when you get the money
I have many builds in mind
i might do that too
I just need help building it since it’s my first
Yeah I’ll do that as well
problem about the market is that prices change a lot
Since it’s gonna change a lot in 1-2 months
yeah true
by the time you get the money the prices for the parts will be down a lil
or up
and that's before factoring in new releases
there might be more value in the future
and there will most likely be a reason for you to make a new list
Also since I’m building pc for first time what do I need? Tools? And anything else?
philip screwdriver
pliers
btw mr plane do you have to buy the screws for a build
usually comes with the case
Why pliers?
motherboard standoffs
I thought you only need the screw driver
same
WHO
Oh for the case right?
yeah
If you have a bigger motherboard
i probably have one lying around
I saw some videos
or a different standoff arrangement
is it a need
I can check tho It depends on motherboard and case
Depends on case and mobo
pliers aren't expensive
Yea
I mean I don’t care much about that imma do standard
Me when steal
problem is
?
the case might have them in a different arrangement than your motherboard
better to be safe
oh it’s to be safe
That’s why I’m prob just gonna look up motherboard and case combos online
screws
the phanteks one that comes with 3 fans or the one with 1 fan
I mean
you will figure it out when you have the case
Building the PC itself is the easy part
parts selection is the hard part
wow
Yeah
nvm
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
It’s this case
What
WHY IS THAT MOTHERBOARD $179
Naw it’s just some random site
wait can you put micro atx mobo in mid tower
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
You can put anything in anything unless the case is super small
here's one with cheaper board
I’m thinking if I should get Wi-Fi or not
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
Cuz I do have a Ethernet cable
ehhh
no
you don't even need the extra cores for gaming
don't forget cooler
oh ak400 in there
but honestly
bleh
Also I’m not even gonna buy 6950 it’s too expensive
Someone recommended but out of budget
6800 or xt maybe
I mean yeah tbh the 13600kf doesn't give you that much more performance for the price difference
then 6800xt
Imma buy the case and maybe cheaper motherboard without Wi-Fi since I do got a Ethernet cable but idk if it will work
It works but the cable is from aliexpress
probably better for temps too
i'd use ethernet if you don't need wifi
Yeah
aliexpress ethernet cables are finr
But idk if I should buy new cable
Yeah I think so too
or just use your existing one
It works but idk if it’s giving me more speeds or not cuz my Wi-Fi is that trash
Is it your wifi
My existing one is from aliexpress
Yeah
or is it your isp
It will, if your wifi is that sad
What’s the isp
Internet service provider
isp is your internet service provider
Same thing no?
no
no
So Wi-Fi bad
I pay 50 and I still get dog internet
If your Wi-Fi is bad then that's a router problem
if your internet is speed is say
Prob router problem honestly
WITH ethernet
or maybe it's the isp
Cuz I do have an Ethernet
I can’t wait for fiber it’s coming in October
Same price but I get 300mb
I don’t need 1gig
eh that's not bad for 50
Yeah

Yeah
Anyone got any specific chip laptop recommendations?
I’m starting to want a laptop for school and travel
My Chromebook is being more of a pain in the ass than anything
Rather buy a pc
I already have one
I would prefer one
God no Apple sucks
For the price not really
Rather have a max than a Chromebook
And user serviceability is nonexistent
I’m looking to stay around $500 or below since I don’t plan to do anything intensive
Buy used Mac
Mainly just running Chrome, maybe the occasional TF2 session and watching stuff
Buy now cuz back to school sale
I’m waiting on getting my DDR5 first
Sigh @little osprey
Yo
