💀
when you buy a $10 gpu and get one with double the performance that you paid for
stonks
My microcenter is selling a new R5 240 for $35 I think
(the performance is still basically 0)
new r5 240... that's impressive
they're museum status at this point
i have a special r5 240 though
the r5 240 "what was dell cooking" edition
they replaced the 2GB 900 MHz DDR3 with 1GB 1000 MHz GDDR3
Yeah so, I brought clkdrvstr down to 40 and still errors but no BSOD, seems like 60 is sweet spot
Errors after like 10 seconds
…WHAT THE
I HAVE A NON ARTIFACTING BIOS???
was rttpark rzq/5 better than rzq/6 and rzq/1?
Yeah
I CAN READ MY BIOS
try dropping vsoc down to 1.15 and raising cldo vddp up to 1.10
too high vsoc can sometimes be counterproductive to stability
and sometimes raising cldo vddp can help with pushing fclk/gdm
I’m going to be way too happy if my 2070 fixed itself LOL
prob just temporary
…I spoke too soon
that batch of vram is known to be bad
Yeah I know
she's trying her best
unfortunately don't have pics cause they are on my phone that i don't have access to rn
corrupted msi bios really likes to change half of its text into chinese while the graphics implode on themselves
Error at 66s with 1.15V
lemme see if i can find a pic i sent before in discord history
How big of a deal is 1T?
mmm try 1.10V
gdm off vs gdm on is not that big of a deal
but run 1t gdm on over 2t
Yeah 1.2V was most stable
Maybe?
should be something recognizable
.7 instant error
.8 okay?
look for it
What board?
well, maybe his bios is in easy mode so no oc tweaker tab
Dram frequency?
Don’t touch that
Send a pic?
just xmp profile or expo profile
i don't remember if asrock says xmp or expo on am5
dram profile configuration
DRAM profile config maybe?
Select your profile
If you’re asking me idk what that means
i wouldn't jump straight to 1v lol
0.8 doesn’t help
at this point just go up in 1 step increments and see if it hurts or helps
Wdym by 1 step increment
well, there's the possibility that the hardware is just not capable of 3800 1t gdm off
that's not rare
…shhhh
I can do that?
How fast your ram is
Imma head to sleep, thisll continue tmrw
gn
It's the amount of data that can be sent or received per second. What we usually use is actually megatransfers per second, not MHz like you usually see in spec sheets.
true
you should put 12v through your b-die
it can take it
solder wires directly from eps12v to the voltage pins
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CWmmd9 is this good? anything i can switch out thats cheaper/better?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
saved ya some cash
you can keep case as 4000d airflow if you want, this is simply my suggestion
but don't change anything but the case
thx
I second this list
Another potential change would be a 4070 ti but only if you must have nvidia.
If it's not too late I'd just change the gpu to a 6950xt instead of 7900xt they're very close in perf and 6950xt is a lot cheaper, I'd also get a 7700x with the saved money personally
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RXmQC6
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
why cpu cooler?
could go for a white build to pair it up with the mobo / https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zL3gXL/fractal-design-focus-2-rgb-atx-mid-tower-case-fd-c-foc2a-04
Because they can, not needed with the 5600 yes but nice to have and would be needed if 7700x which is what I'd do
5600?
What are the best prime day deals right now for components?
can someone send me a good storage
what's your budget?
pc parts don't go on meaningful sales
all the sales are on older components that compare to the original price so they can pretend it's a sale
I had a look at the prime day deals today, as usual nothing interesting for pc parts
oh boy a 3 year old 3060ti is on sale by 27% for $330 + tax... or you could go on the used market and get it for $250
Ah that’s disappointing
no reason to have meaningful sales when everything's controlled by duopolies that are complicit in keeping prices high
might be some deals on like samsung/wd ssds but that's because those are expensive to begin with, even the prime day deals don't really make them better options than some of the alternatives that aren't even on sale
7600 is cheaper and better in gaming
He is still making money.
Even if you did manage to "take money" its like pissing in the ocean
It will not make a difference
I know
But possibly he’s selling at a loss
So I can feel all warm and fuzzy inside about that
Bezos makes what, $2300 a second?
If any of you buy mtg I recommend looking at their deals. Pretty easy profit from the collector boxes.
I used to collect mtg religiously as a kid with my brother
My dad gave us all of his cards, he played since the og set
Hes got two mint condition mox diamonds he likes to brag about
That’s cool. Hopefully he got them graded
He hasn't, but he has had them in protective sleeves since he got them
I dont think they'd be over a psa 8
Theyre more like near mint than actually mint
Insane the price spike in 2020 for all tcgs. Some people got legitimately rich from the original products
He should still get them graded
In I think 2021 I had found my old Pokémon collection
I found a charizard that was worth about $700 that was in absolutely terrible condition
Like, below psa 2
I sold all mine as well, made maybe…5k? I didn’t have anything too special
The main magic cards I want to have graded are those mox diamonds, and he also has two original signed nightmares
It’s easy, I’ve had tons of cards graded
Most other stuff isn't worth much, I've gone through most of it
We've got almost 8000 cards total, including mana cards
Its insane
Any alpha/beta?
I believe a good bit of alpha cards, they're just not in great condition, since they've been used in decks before and haven't been sleeved
Most of them would probably be between a psa 5 and 7
Want to send me some pics? I might be interested if you’re selling
I'm not home atm and they're all in my brothers room, in the future maybe but not right now
What’s better this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tFgh6r or https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VwcFW4
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
Just one small change to yours @frosty surge
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fzGwwc
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
???
I think the Rosewill is B tier but the Thermaltake one is A tier
Main Rig (rev. 1.0) - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G300A (1 Fan) ATX Mid Tower
my man his own versioning scheme
dont know how to feel about the case choice but good build
For $70 it's nice
gf1 is a baller unit
wait what have u purchased
It's marked on the list
damn im such a idiot
i would go for those fractal cases tbh
i feel like it looks better but its a matter of opinion
My first case was a Phanteks P300A
it gives you a bit of money that you can invest in gskill ram
they already have it, g skill is not preferable ram wise
and focus 2 is decent but no psu shroud
i mean this is prob a hynix m die
oh i think felix said this is a die
but cl28 6000mhz gskill is like $95
5600c32 is hynixm doesnt matter which one tbh
mm intel though?
basically teh limit of all hynix is imcs and mobos atm
its tuneable to those speeds easy if not eh still good
Hey everyone recently I built a new pc and I am currently running into acouple of issues, and could use some help.
1st: Random Screen Flickering
2nd: Random Blue screening.
Blue screening I am starting to think it's due to the m.2 from samsung (Microsoft actually had to do something for the storage to even be able to be used.)
Screen flickering no clue what's the issue.
Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3D
GPU: MSI 4090 Suprim
AIO: z73 Kraken.
RAM: Gskill 64gig @ 6000 DDR5
970 Evo Plus. 2tb
990 Pro 2tb
I am trying to build my first PC and keep the cost to $3000 or less. This is what I have for a parts list. Any advice would be great.
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700kf
Motherboard: MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI LGA 1700
Memory: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB (2 x 32GB)
Video Card: ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
Case: Fractal Design Torrent RGB Black E-ATX
PSU: CORSAIR RM850e Fully Modular Low-Noise ATX Power Supply
Storage: SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 2TB PCIe Gen 4.0 x4
Cooler: DeepCool LT720 Premium Liquid CPU Cooler
I would not buy most of this
Are you in the US?
yeah
Kk, give me a few
ok thank you
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks ECLIPSE G500A DRGB ATX Mid Tower
7800x3d is the best cpu for gaming. 4090 is obviously the best gpu for gaming
Xs70 is very similar to the 980 pro, though is way overkill for gaming anyways
Unless you're not gaming
i do plan on mostly gaming
Ram, 64gb hurts performance
oh gotcha, didnt know that
That aio might be out of stock
Peerless assassin 120 se would do fine for that cpu though
ill check newegg and amazon since prime day is still going on. i appreciate the help
At $38 it rivals 240mm aios
The list I made compares prices from everywhere
Amazon and newegg
M32U is usually the go to option if your not going OLED.
is there any advantage or disadvantage between OLED and LED?
aside from colors i guess
IPS is cheaper and doesn't risk burn-in from running bright static screens for long periods like OLED does but OLED offers vastly better colors, true blacks, faster response time, and etc.
7600 and b650 pro rs wifi with 32gb 5600c32 is cheaper than 5800x3d plus that mobo and 32gb 3200c16
5800x3d
The 980 is not a good ssd, especially at $50
its mini ITX
I'm set on the case
I also already have the ram
From an old build
I'd deff change the ssd though, as bacca said 980 is a meh drive and terrible for 50$
is this a decet fan curve for my cpu and gpu?
decent*
i wanna keep stuff reltaively cool but i dont want it at 100 percent constanty
Depends on gpu, but you’ll have to test it out to see if it’s good
It seems kind of aggressive tho but idk what gpu it is so I can’t say
I’d play around with the fan curve, just make sure the gpu doesn’t go past low-mid 70s
U can use hwinfo64 or msi afterburner to see temps
it reaches 80c along with my cpu which reaches like 83c with fans at 95%
Could be just the coolers
But u could replace the thermal paste, may help a little bit
2060 is a kind of old card so the paste in it might’ve of dried maybe
But it could just be the cooler
alr thanks
It's probably the paste yeah, even a dual fan 2060 should be way cooler than that
Or bad airflow in the case
is nzxt player one prime good for 1k?
looking to upgrade my cpu currently have a i5-10400 so an lga 1200 socket any good deals or recommendations?
no upgrades worth doing honestly
you'll need new board and cpu if ram is good enough
well it makes sense for me to upgrade because im giving my cpu to my brother and hes paying me lmao
you could go for 12 or 13th gen depending on your ram
if not it's time to go ddr5, but that depends on budget too
Yeah, maybe 11600k used
11400f new isnt awfully priced, considering 5600 is the same price, but id still go used over new for anything before 12th gen https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qp2WGX/intel-core-i5-11400f-26-ghz-6-core-processor-bx8070811400f
howdy guys, I need to substitute 2 parts from the build I was given earlier as the mobo and PSU will not be available for a long time (2-4 weeks) and I need this PC asap
I need an 850 watt minimum PSU to support a 3090 at full tilt
as well as a mobo with DDR5 support for a 12600k
I could also use a lot of m.2 slots
wifi is not needed, black is preferred, and I would prefer to stay away from MSI and gigabyte as brands, if possible
Gf1 850 pe or cooler master gold v2 for psu
Why stay away from msi and gigabyte? They make some of the best motherboards
MWE gold 859 V2?
if anything, i would prefer stay away from MSI over gigabyte
I don't care for either comany much
Could also look at rmx
yup
perfect, and it gets here soon too
I have a cooler master 650 white in my PC ATM and its been fantastic
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JJRYcf/gigabyte-z690-aorus-elite-ax-atx-lga1700-motherboard-z690-aorus-elite-ax figured you'd need the pcie lanes of a z690 or 790 for the m.2s
best $30 PSU I ever bought lol
This is decent https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MDGbt6/asrock-z790-pg-lightning-atx-lga1700-motherboard-z790-pg-lightning
any other buying options potentially?
The asrock is a little steep for me, but the gigabyte is 3 weeks out of stock
sorry to be diffucult, any others?
Not really much else that isn't a b760 in budget
B760 is fine
That’s a good question
i would rather get something I can use soon than Z790
I have an M.2 dock for my m.2 if need be
This is nice but only has 2 m.2s https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wBfnTW/gigabyte-b760m-aorus-elite-ax-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b760m-aorus-elite-ax
No
I would say no
yeah, thats what i would go for, but thats the one thats super out of stock ._.
This is also good https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tGmmP6/asrock-b760m-pg-riptide-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b760m-pg-riptide
Decent, one more m.2 than pg riptide, worse vrms https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HymmP6/asrock-b760-pro-rs-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b760-pro-rs
Alrighty, thanks
I am gonna be undervolting my CPU anyways
uhg, why are the mobos so hard to deal with
they are iether out of stock, or way overpriced on amazon lol
So which has higher performance per dollar at MSRP between the 4070 Ti and 4090?
I would totoally go with that gigabyte, it seems perfect, but the delivery date is 2-3 weeks out
Go on pcparpicker, put in 12600k and ddr5, and search b760 and sort by cheapest
seems other people caught onto the deal lol
Look till you find one that has what you need
Fine with me
damn it, all the good ones are so out of stock lol
Do you alr have the cpu?
Could go 7600, if b650 pro rs wifi checks your boxes
Not sure how many m.2s it has
not considering the 7600 currently, its slower and costs considerably more than the 12600k on amazon
12600k on amazon is only $180 right now
7600 is $225
Fairly sure 7600 beats it, unless you're doing multi core tasks?
In that case I'd check if 13500 is down to $210 again
can take a look
13500 is $250
even the 13400 is $210
the 12600k just seems like the best option at just $180
Yeah it is out of those
let me keep looking for mobos
jesus christ
when did IO on the back of MOBO's become nonexistent
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BSP61QZC?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1
this one is a maybe, whats your thoughts? I know it has terrible IO
Intel LGA 1700 Socket: Supports 13th and 12th Gen Intel Core Series Processors DDR5 Compatible: Dual Channel DDR5, 4 DIMMs Sturdy Power Design: 6+2+1 Hybrid Digital VRM Design Comprehensive Thermal Design: M.2 Thermal Guard Next Gen Connectivity: PCIe 4.0, NVMe PCIe 4.0 x2 M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type...
everything was so easy before the mobo was considered lmao
It's kinda bottom of the bin, worse quality than any of the others I've linked, but it'll be fine with a 12600k
this is all so awkward ._.
guess I am gonna be forced to buy through Newegg
that was the last thing I wanted ._.
oh well
@mossy ventureoh wait
Intel LGA 1700 Socket: Supports 13th and 12th Gen Intel Core Series Processors DDR5 Compatible: Dual Channel DDR5, 4 DIMMs Commanding Power Design: 12+1+1 Twin Hybrid Phases Digital Power Design with 60A DrMOS Cutting-Edge Thermal Design: Fully Covered MOSFET Heatsinks, Ultra Durable PCIe Armor, ...
thoughts on that?
Good motherboard
screw it, I am gonna buy it used
save some money, and it gets here considerably sooner than even newegg
||could always buy a brand new one later and return the used one or something, I just need this up and running ASAP||
||And no, I don't mean in place of the used one ll||
ok!
I got it!
@wheat coral This is the final build with no GPU
go for 5600mhz ram
its like 10$ more
gotcha flobbur
@wheat coralWait, what about the 6000mhz CL48-48-48-96? Its $6 more
should be fine for 6 bones mroe
but wait lol
my favorite least optimised game
the 6000, 34-44-44-84 is only $5 more ontop of that lmfao
64GB 6000 CL34-44-4484 for $165
sounds good tbh
They don't have any faster in stock haha
its just a few schmeckles more anyways, no biggie
worht buying either way 64gb of 6000 c34 will carry you quite a few years
damn, from 5200 CL 40 to 6000 CL 34 for $20 more
that seems monumentally better for $20 lmao
tis
dopppeeee
not sure if i should bother tuning my ddr5 laptop
your imc will not go far
Son of a
god damn it
somebody bought the single used version of that mobo before I did, and now I am gonna be screwed out of the mobo I want
uhhgggg
welp, looks like I am not forced to buy a different and lesser mobo
ended up buying a considerably better one used, it just happened to go up right now
So i'll consider that a hidden blessing
has double the USB's, an extra m.2 and another PCIE slot
can I use this to connect 7 fans at once from two different brands 4 are corsair 3 are D-RGB PWM
Looks like it only goes to 6 to me
And it looks like Corsair's proprietary connector, so you'll need to put the other 3 fans on a motherboard header
Hello,
I was wondering if someone would be so kind to take a look at my build and provide their feedback. I new when it comes to building. I have bought most of the parts. So thanks in advance
Shared List https://newegg.io/b65cd1cb
What is this build used for anyway?
Cause running 4 sticks will hurt performance and stability, especially mismatching speed and capacity
All the parts are pretty overpriced for what they are too
Frankly, it's probably too late to fix now unless you're willing to return everything
That budget will get you a much better build if you start fresh from the ground up here
Yeah seconded
You can do a 7600 6950xt build for $1200, which will game a decent bit better
Ummmm
Big problem
So I was messing around is bios and set my dram to 3200 and my 5600x to 4000mhz and Qfan to quiet
And now it won’t boot and I can’t even go to bios
?cmos
How to clear CMOS (works for AMD and Intel)
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000025368/processors.html
Defines CMOS technology and how to clear CMOS using the jumper or battery methods.
Yep first thing I tried
Took out 2 sticks and it boots
So might be a problem with those sticks?
Come as a kit? Or 2 different kits?
Bought 2 16gb kits
Could always try to update your bios if you haven’t already with just the 2 and try with 4
I reset bios and now I’m trying with 4 sticks again
Whew booted
Yeah dunno what’s wrong
The last time I set the memory to 3200 I would get game crashes and hard restarts
Is the Toughpower GF1 PE currently the cheapest A tier 850W?
How much do you see it for?
Looks like yes it is at $99.99 https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-toughpower-gf1-tt-premium-edition-ps-tpd-0850fnfaga-1-850w/p/N82E16817153403
I probably wouldn't trust the $97 seller personally
$100
I just ordered it anyways
I had no clue the 6950 XT was $600 NGL so that's why I need a 850W now
Yeah it's crazy how good that thing is for the price. I can't believe AMD is still making a profit on that.
I feel they're just making a joke of Nvidia at this point
Sure AMD's low-mid range stuff ain't great with this generation, but it's not worse than Nvidia's
Who cares the 6600-6700xt is amazingly priced
I was more referring to the 7600
I would love to get a 6700 XT but for double the price I can get a high end card
Yeah I'm aware but eh as long as there's good cards doesn't matter if it's this gen
$900
$830
Their low-mid range till now only has been the 7600
Nvidia has release pretty much entirety of 40 series but radeon lacking
Even then Nvidia's stuff still sucks
Like it's 4090, 4070 Ti, or nothing
Even the 4070 ti is a hard sell with the 6950 XT existing
4050 might be the only card i can forgive nvidia at lower end segment
IF they make them 75w
if not blargh
cause 4060 is already 115w for desktop
I mean I try to return items back if they still allow it. So what suggestions do you have to improve this build?
Would there be any compatibility issues between the two?
It's impossible to tell because they don't show the inside of the connector to tell if it's SMA or RP-SMA. The part number doesn't help much either, I only see third party sites which are known to have wrong info at times.
(in this case one site claims, RP-SMA, another SMA, and another claims RSMA which doesn't exist)
Hmmmm, alright
Only reason I was asking is because I like that style of antennas that are I guess you could say are wireless
I don’t like the fixed ones with the magnet on the bottom
What you want to look for on your board is SMA connector. I can grab a quick link if you want.
I’m unsure what I’d be looking for
So yeah a link would be nice
Please and thank you
I can link the ones I bought from aliexpress. They're high gain and fairly large so should have decent signal.
The pictures don't do them justice. I can take a pic with a banana for scale if you want lol.
I get lots of little things from there. It's often cheaper. Shipping doesn't usually take as long as they quote for small items too, like fans and these antennas.
I get all my replacement GPU fans from there
Interesting
Well I suppose I should keep that in mind for later when I need some cheap junk
As long as you follow the general "if it looks too good to be true it probably is" rule you'll be fine
Again using antennas as an example, there's some on the site for a little cheaper that advertise more than double the gain, while being smaller. That's not how physics works.
Yeah I don’t know much about networking and such since I have horrible wifi to begin with
I suppose I didn’t ask you, but do you know if MSI lists those antenna specs on their website or something?
Also are all motherboard antennas the same type?
No they don't
They're all either SMA or RP-SMA. It matters which.
Is it possible to tell which one an antenna is by face looks?
Ahhhh, okay okay
That's a lot more simple than I thought it was
@potent portal
Old listing but that was the image
Ah it's RP-SMA then, wrong type
Yes, according to the newegg specs at least
Hmmm
Which are a bit more reliable than third party parts sites
Is one type preferred over the other?
No they're functionally the same
Yeah UD AX uses RP-SMA from the looks of it
Hmmmm
Well that makes sense a bit
So would that mean the end that screws onto the motherboard has to have a hole?
The perspective of the comparison of the pin location is relative to the antenna. So on SMA, the antenna has the pin and the connected device would have a hole.
Oooooh
So I had it backwards
can anyone tell me the specs of my friends pc https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/677740802277113858/1129138037633339484/IMG_3549.jpg?width=506&height=675
he got it for free off a friend but he doesn't know the specs
It's impossible to know the exact specifics without seeing the BIOS or a hardware monitor
But judging by the stock Intel cooler it's most likely a LGA1150/LGA1155 platform
And GPU is quite small, so most likely an older GPU
Yeah that looks very DDR3
Can't tell the CPU without either taking the cooler off and wiping the paste and booting it up
I agree the GPU looks pretty old, could be up to about a 1050 ti maybe at best
Thought so
Dual power plugs lead me to believe it to be an older model than that, though
Looks like 900 series imo
Judging by case and cooler, cpu would be no newer than 4th gen intel if I had to hazard a guess
Dual 6 pin tho, weird for a 900 series
Oh I thought it was 8 pin and 6 pin, didn't see that
I'm thinking this one https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-gtx-970-oc.b3092
Ah but that doesn't match the splash of white on the shroud
why not just boot it up and find out
much easier
how do i post my build pics
If I buy everything new is this worth selling for $950
crucial p3 is a really bad ssd
and buying radeon for flip builds is never a good idea
162 also sounds like an absurd amount to pay for a 5600x
strongly doubt you'll get 950 for these specs
I've seen similar/better builds struggle to sell for 600
itx as well
in general if you are buying new parts for a flip you are probably making an error
I've heard many good things about crucial p3 ssds. Doesn't Jay Two Cents use them
if you're looking to jay for your advice then no wonder you're getting bad advice
crucial p3 drops to roughly half of hard drive speeds as soon as the pSLC cache is exhausted
good ssds will maintain 15-20 times the sustained write speeds of the crucial p3
Ok then what's a good ssd for the same size and cost
suggest getting a team mp33 for a flip instead
it's cheaper and better
but like I said
this flip is just not a good idea
5600x at micro center is more expensive $165
.
Ok i know this COULD be a bad idea. what about remove the noctua cooler and just use the stock. Sell for $850. Cost of build $746
have you considered reading

am I just typing all of this to a brick wall or what
I don't get it
Have you considered not being an ass, I have read it. I've seen the bench ma4ks and rn a 6700xt is quite a good bang for the buck right now.
6700xt is a great card
doesn't make it good for flip builds
you need to understand your audience
I've been doing flips for years
radeon cards do not move
Hmm
a $1000 build with the best model of 5700xt at 11k time spy score took 2 months to get a trade offer let alone a sale
a $1000 build with the worst model of 1080ti at 9.5k time spy score was gone in 30 minutes
5700xt build was also much better looking and had otherwise similar specs
people buying prebuilts literally do not know what a radeon is
it doesn't matter if you tell them what the equivalent nvidia card is
that's a better option than a $300 6700xt for a flip, but still overpriced
I just passed on a 3080 for $330
3070s can be had new for that price and for used, 3080 is attainable
3080 at 275 is a bit of a stretch
275 is more like the average price of a used 3070 still
FB market place doesn't have any 3080s withing 10mi for less than 500
Either way buy used and repaste card - end user will not care
the absolute max you should pay for a 5600 is 110
Used those are like $80 iirc
don't know about itx mobos, but I get matx mobos for 30-40
New i think too but dunno
Amazon and microcenter +$160
I think your expectations for used prices are a little bit skewed lol
again
Ok well I have one 5600x for $100 but it's a little far...
I mean i just most of my stuff shipped
I hate driving
still can make profit on used shipped items
It's on fb marketplace no shipping option
fb marketplace does have shipping but I wouldn't trust it
How do I tell a good listing for shipping...
This seems too good... but idk
Ebay
thats an auction
Oh oops
$118 BIN
no
its not gonna move
too close to 1060 6gb and rx 580 8gb price
can probably get a bite for 40 but it'll take some time cause few people are in the market for such a card these days
What about this orange
So this is ok?
.
Ok from that message it seems like it's OK, you haven't said "That's fine" so you haven't repeated yourself...
He may not have said "that's fine", but he did recommend a maximum price.. twice and you still asked a question that warranted the same answer.
Well there's no free shipping -$110 5600x on ebay...
is it worth upgrading any time soon
ryzen 9 5900x
asus prime X570 pro wifi
nvidia geforce rtx 3080
corsair vengence rgb 32gb 3600mhz
corsair rm1000 1000w psu
kraken z63 with 240mm fans
fractal meshify c mid tower
That depends.. Do you have the money to keep upgrading every year?
With your current build. You are golden for a while. I'd personally wait another year or 2.
was wonder if i should make the jump to 7000 series and ddr5
How come?
just bc honestly
if you have to ask the question then the answer is no
I'd hold off then
it's worth upgrading when you can answer that question for yourself
🙂
i mean if i am able to upgrade is it practiclly worth it like are there any games coming out soon that i would beinfit from the jump
I mean
yes
you can get a 7800x3d and 4090 and see a benefit in games
that much is pretty obvious
yea
If you're playing competitive games at 1080p ~medium quality then you can see gains using Ryzen 7000 with your 3080. If you're playing in 1440p or higher you'll want to upgrade the GPU first because that's doing most of the work.
(how much those gains in competitive games are varies wildly too)
3090 ordered voyos
Just to make sure- the card has 2 8 pins, I just take the GPU cable that came with my PSU and plug in another one
Two days ahead of schedule for the GF1 PE
Newegg is genuinely just like that
Amazon is lacking
with prime my package is going to come on the 16th
prime and 4 days of shipping time?
cmon
yes, definitely don't daisy chain with a 2x8 3090
separate pcie cables
I mean, yeah, that's the idea, I just wanna make sure
just confirming for you
Wonder how long it will take to get here since it's only 1 hour away
Sips did you know falchie is 2 hours away from us
If I can't return it back what ideas do you have to improve the build
I have his address 😳
he should have come to wegg meet at asus
I wasn't invited
Sell half of the ram and run the pc with the fastest kit
Everyone, what is the generally agreed upon "Optimal Screen Size" (In terms of image quality, lack of seeing pixels, optimal pixel density) for 1080p, 1440p, and 4K? I'm getting general consensuses that it's 27" for 1440p and 32" for 4K.
-Are 27" for 1440p and 32" for 4K truly the generally agreed upon "Best Screen Sizes" for those two resolutions?
-Additionally, what is the "Best Screen Size" for 1080p?
24" 1080p
1080p - anything about 24" and below
1440p - 27-32" depending on how close you sit
4k - 32"+
and i'd say yes
How well would a 6950 XT handle ultrawide 1440p and normal 1080p on the side?
Perfectly fine
the only intensive thing is the one with the game on it, 1440p uw's can be powered by like a 7th gen igpu just fine
its when you game on them that the problem arrises
So I'm assuming it'd run fine with games like War Thunder and TF2?
Yep
Assuming you're not running war thunder at max settings because who does that
The game engine itself lags when you do lol
Me 😔
I get like 160-180 FPS on movie settings with my 5700 on 1080p
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Deepcool CC560 ATX Mid Tower
was doing a build for someone in the US
is this as good as it gets for 1500$
could be better with 6950xt instead
and swap to am5
case should be focus 2 rgb, since they go for cheap lately
4000mhz on am4?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/C2yNk9 better performance from this than the one you had for $300 less

What is best processor currently for playing diablo 4?
the best cpu for every other game

Well, it’s possible but very unlikely
13900ks
@mossy venture, would you say go for the 13600K at $320 or 12600K at $180?
Unsure since I remember someone saying 12600K's IMC doesn't handle DDR5 well
12600k has better price/perf there i think
Would this be an issue?
not a clue
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5008vs4603/Intel-i5-13600K-vs-Intel-i5-12600K here's perf comparison though
That only applies to really high speeds, like 7000+
13600K has more cores and threads, lower base speed but higher turbo
13600K also has a lower TDP, but whatever
I only plan to fiddle with timings
I wanna give that T-Create kit a try NGL
Which one, the 6000 c32?
I think?
Lemmie double check
It's this one
5600CL46
Oh jedec speed
That could be anything
It'll be fun to play with and find out though
Yeah I thought so
Otherwise was looking at this
Any DDR5 die should be able to do 6000 at least too
this is gauranteed hynix
per felix
Huh. Guaranteed how? Jedec sticks are tricky
not a clue, it's just known to be a hynix die ig
youd have to ask felix or maybe pato how they know
hands down zen4 x3d
Too bad they're in the sleepy time zones right now
Do you have in mind which would be best?
Pretty sure buildzoid said that’s guaranteed A-die
ye guaranteed hynix, amzon listing says hynix in the name
Let the fun begin
how cold is that cpu?
i9?
damm thats good
Running a 420 and 360 rad
Still regretting the monoblock just because I can’t do direct die with it
still good tho
Will I be able to tell a difference if I switch to a 990 pro from a 2500 mbs speed gen 3 ssd?
Yea
And we all know how reliable those are
The kit I just bought is A-die and buildzoid saying it’s guaranteed A-die, I’m pretty sure it’s A-die
Hey would anyone want to help me get my new build to post?
What's the problem you have?
Any debug leds lit?
What is your cpu, board and ram kit?
so my build is the asrock b550 phantom gaming 4/ac and I have a ryzen 7 5800x. It wouldn't post and gave me a red cpu and dram light. I tried reseating the cpu, ram, and gpu. I figured it just needs a bios update so i tried booting it with a 3600 and it's still giving me the same lights and not posting
I have two 16gb ram sticks, my gpu, the wifi card, cpu, and cpu fan all installed on the motherboard
Is this a brand new build?
And I've tried doing single channel and dual channel for the ram
Yes. All the parts are brand new
If so I would try booting with all the parts in, 5800x too
Wait for up to 5 minutes
Since you need the board to do ram training and first boot
Okay
But it's turning on the CPU fan and then it turns back off
Like it seems like nothing is even staying on
Even the post status lights only flash for a second
Try checking for any loose and/or incorrect connectors
You could also do a cmos reset
I mean I think everything's connected properly but I am kind of a noob
Yeah I've done a cmos reset
Okay, tell me where do you have case power switch cable plugged into
DM me a pic if possible
I haven't connected a case power switch yet
Hm, okay
It's not letting me send a photo
I would suggest trying that
Yeah you have to dm me instead
You don't have enough levels yet
Ohhh okay
I dmed you
Gimme a sec
what is it
what bin
Wdym?
xmp
No XMP
$73 I belive
$73
currently building my pc and it’s not turning on…. can someone help?
You'd probably want to give more information than that lol
true 💀
I have everything plugged up except for my gpu but my pc is not booting
my motherboard is rgb and it’s lights are on but that’s all
What CPU do you have?
Like bios splash screen or bios itself?
splash screen
Ok. Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
That's normal if you don't have storage with windows on it
It do be like that sometimes
which motherboard brand do you guys like
The cheap one
But if given a choice I’d go for the asrock taichi cuz it has a gear and gaudy accents ⚙️
Model, price, availability matter really, only one's I'd basically never buy unless they're super cheap and you're on a low budget are biostar and maxsun
Probably fine but lack of support
Hey, I have a question/concern. I built my PC i am using a Open Air case the motif monument. I have the B650i Aorus Mini ITX board with a dual stacked heatsink. The bottom M.2 runs at 55-56c idle and during peak benchmarks using CrystalDiskMark its never goest above 68c. Is that ok for a m.2 that has no airflow going over it since its in a open air "case"
PC pictured the m.2 is between the cpu heatsink and gpu
i am really ocd and concerned about breaking my pc
Thanks, maybe you can help with above question?
I have my A/C running too. While gaming i never see it get above 63
Should be ok
That's okay and expected temp for m.2 ssds
yeah Motif Monumenbt
It won't pass cause if it gets too hot speed will drop pretty hard
But generally 68c is okay, not throttling
did you put the included heatsink over the m.2? and if so did you remember to peel the plastic off the thermal pads
yes i did all that
remember there is no airflow over the m.2
It's a bit hot ya, but really fine
Gen 5 nvme?
no 3
gen 5 wouldn't stand a chance lmao
i would remount the m.2 heatsink that doesnt sound right
pch?
Chipset
pch, chipset
ive never seen that acronym before interesting
the M.2 is at the lowest part near the chipset
when im actual idle and doing nothing it drops to 50c 49c
The mini itx board has a stacked M.2 and the bottom M.2 is the warmest at 55c idle. Again the chipset under it is 52c so i do get heat from it with no airflow
actually let me see what my drives get in benchmarks as theyre actually idling around the same temps
really there idling at same temp
well my gen4 is but my gen3 is cooler but thats also doing nothing, gen 4 has OS running
My gen 3 nvme idles in like the mid 40s I think
And then goes into the mid 50s under load
Remember mine is burried in a dual stack heatsink like above and the chipset is above it at 53c
also its a open case
i pictured above
Yea mine is in a regular airflow case, I don’t think u can do much about nvme temps but your drives should be alright
i might actually be moving to a different build anyway probably a 4080 and 13600k
i am really worried my pc will break thats all
It won’t break from the nvme running slightly hot
if i were to take a mini fan and blow air over it then the temps would go down alot
can i take a thermal pad and place a 40mm fan ontop of my gpu with the thermal pad so it secures to the gpu and have it blow over it
do u thin that would be a better idea?
Blowing a fan towards the nvme heat sink would prob help a little bit but not worth it imo
And if u mean placing a thermal pad like from the nvme heat sink to the gpu heat sink it wouldn’t really work
crystal disk mark brought up my ssd by about 10c so that seems right but ive airflow and a lower ambient probably too
so then based on my setup i should be ok
Yea
probably
i think its mostly because of airflow
Warning Temp is 82c and Critical Temp is 85c and i never reached those and i have this computer for 6 months
so i would assume i am safe
checked HWinfo64
should be fine ye
Anyone have any idea why my gpu won’t turn on when I upgraded my cpu?
Everything else turns on except for the gpu
So it's able to boot and get to windows?
I'm just a bit confused on what you're defining "turning on" as
Everything was fine before I’m pretty confident I plugged everything back in to the correct spot
Oh that sounds like you needed to update your bios
What were you upgrading the CPU from and to?
And on what motherboard?
I upgraded from a 3600 to 5600x and have a b450 tomahawk max
did you update bios?
with that mobo it should be easy, i believe it has a bios flash button
it's almost definitely why
I'd be fairly confident saying it is why
I would have to switch the cpu back to do it I assume ?
yeah it does
do you have another computer or laptop someone would let you use or you own?
and a flash drive?
I have a laptop arriving today luckily but not sure when it arrives just says today
Also have a flash drive
Wait I do have my moms pc totally blanked
that works, if you go to msis website it'll have a tutorial of what to do to update bios
or could follow one on youtube
What’s a recommended intake outake # for a case like this
Side and bottom in, top and back out
As far as how many fans you should use, you can just do 3 bottom and 3 top and that'll be plenty
(assuming you're using high end parts that need lots of air)
Alright
Putting a fan here is kinda useless
Not necessarily although it's definitely the last one I'd populate
Some are reversed, but also it's just a stock photo.
prisma fans cant be reversed
btw i would put the radiator on the side i feel like thats way prettier but ofc not my choice
Some fans have reverse models. Indeed most people would do side intake rad for a bit better temps too.
wrlong
in a case like that it should be a reservoir but a fan right there in a typical mid tower can be pretty important
side radiator does not look better if you want proper cooling
cause not every AIO has tubes long enough to go around GPU
which forces the tubes to go on topside
if its side mounted top tubes vs top mounted aio i'd take the top mounted all day ~ it lasts longer
it's really only relevant if you plan to keep the AIO for 5+ years
all of a sudden my pc wasnt displaying on my monitor, i turned off and on again and its fine, but now my games are crashing and im losing frames. I got this message
also my gpu isnt displayed on my task manager anymore
i just build my pc like a week ago for the first time
@frigid night
i saw you're online
Shut PC off. Unplug PSU. Reseat GPU (on Mobo and the cables plugged into Mobo). Plug PSU back in. Turn PC on and see if that works.
how do i take the gpu out
theres like a latch
behind it
right
on the mobo
Yes.
alright
i figured it was a gpu thing considering its just gone from my task manager lol
any idea what would cause it?
Not sure atm, but I'm just gonna have you reseat GPU so we can knock out it being loose right away.
Also, what GPU do you have?
6700 XT
I see the thing to unlock it it’s just under my cpu cooler
Ok I got it out
That looks correctly reseated correct?
If you pushed it in and heard/felt the tab click then yes.
Make sure the cables are plugged all the way into the GPU as well.
still not showing up
it has power
