Depends on the game
even 13600k will still have some bottleneck at 1080p
Assuming he has 6650xt, I guess he's running 1080p
CoD? Yeah CPU bottleneck
TLOU? GPU bind
Solution to TLOU is to emulate it
Ironically that does work
No you still have to own the version you're emulating
Could nab some off ebay
On rpcs3?
To emulate legally yes
If you wanna stay legal
Not like sony cares but yeah
no one is gonna single you out and put you in jail because of a game
And legally speaking that's the only way to emulate on this server
thats what i think
Yes definitely don't just download it
they got bigger problems
That would be criminal
People have been banned here for piracy talk, best to leave it here
yap
None of current AAA games
all the ones i got rn are getting old and boring
They all run trash
There's tons of free and cheap games
but none of them are usually fun
Not just that, they're almost all trash period
lolol
I play roblox too
w
Primarily because my laptop is trash
I have, but due to me getting it as an excuse to do some mining and stuff with it I couldn't use it
what do you play on roblox
Just about anything my mood goes tbh
Did you grab new Vegas off epic? Play that
no
Do I give some dude a 12100F and some cash for a 13700K?
Not like there isn't hundreds of graphical update mods to choose from
I know I wanted to switch to AM5
Buuuut
Unsure
i would give like 150
Tried lots of em, still fails to cure it
And the 12100F
150 seems fair
ya i'm running 1080p atm, upgrading to 1440p in the future cause i'm definitely not running COD on 1440 with a 6650xt
I really wanna play metro again but urgh the damn fov is too narrow
or overwatch or rust.
Hmmm, 13th gen i7
I know there's mods to widen fov but that was causing headaches
Flexing material?
get it it will be so much better
anyways a general question, is the fractal north mesh or glass side better?
cause I love the look of the case
I prefer north with glass
Well I was gonna do a 7600X
glass looks nice but i'm confused how the air intake works
well you dont have to swap mobo
I ain’t gonna run a 13700K on a DS3H
🗿

Yeah LMAO
Yeah it’s weird
i mean i would take the 17 13700k over the 7600x
I don’t blame you
why you want amd
It’d be cheaper than a entire platform change
the 13700k is a beast
My general experience with AMD cards and chips has been pretty good, so I thought I might give the 7000 series a try
yeah stick with intel and use the money to get a 7000 series card
boom
problem solved
Is the 13700K really that much of an improvement from a 7600X?
7000 series gpus won't be good value lol
I just realized the fractal north doesn't support AIO's up to 280, only 240 😬
more cores and threads
Cuz 6000 is still in stock rn
I was referring to CPU
Okay change your name back I don't want to get an even worse rep then I alr do
6600/6650xt kinda dropped around 20-40$ in price
since the release of the 7600
I’m probably gonna grab a brand new ASRock 6700 XT
Until 6000 stocks run dry, 7000 prices won't fall
TF DID I DO
its gets like 5 percent better but the cpu usage is alot lower like 10 percent
YOU’RE STALKING ME LMA
It's not what you've done it's what you'll do 🗿
i would get the 13700k
you guys think a 240mm AIO is okay with cooling a 13600k? My dream build kinda lacking the 280mm cause the north doesn't support it 😭
get the lt 240
It's fine
Perhaps
alr alr.
240 is okay
you meant LS/LT520?
whatever
240mm version of the series
they are supposed to be really good
what's it called..?
LT520
yes there is
nvm there is lmao
ah, 109.99 is crazy ngl
Honestly it's not too bad of a price
yeah i paid like 90 for my used x73
Thank god it's not like $200 like nzxt krakens
plus they charge shipping which kinda evens out the price to a brand new one..
god
ah I just realized that the fractal north only has a 145mm clearance for air coolers with the mesh
Small case
cause it's got some bracket to hold up the mesh panel for the side
eh it looks big though
mhm
unless I get those very flat water block thingys you see on YT short pc building 💀
hell no
imagine wasting like that much money
to get the same performance of something which is 100$. Or the fact you spend that much and it breaks like a week later
yup
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qgJpyK this is kinda my dream build tbh
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
But it looks cool...
i'd rather have glowy lights than colored water moving around
what that case
the north
Meh
its good but not in your budget
could use that twords a better monitor or better gpu
i mean, just wait till like late q3/early q4 during black friday
north is one of those cases where if you have a wife, you can sneak gaming parts into it especially with mesh one
cuz it looks like just a classy pc
I mean I kinda like it, the gold with wood fronts
I do like it too
imagine a 360 front with orange set RGB fans
Personally I like 4000d more but it looks decent
I don't like the 4000d tbh
I kinda find it overrated
unless someone sends some cool build with it
Yea cases are mainly personal preference
otherwise it just doesn't sit with me
One thing I find funny though is that nzxt has recently released a lineup of prebuilts that's actually banger value
Their player lineup
no front image 😭
Player one, two, three with each having prime version
my case is the best fr
Oh yea, send pic
ik hold on
it has everything on the side
but i broke the power button so i have to turn it on by reaching on the inside
of the button
Tuff
See your case is broken so the 4000d clearly better
I love the color and the case, just wish it was a 360 tbh
360mm fans?
DIYPC IDX6-BK-RGB this is my case it cost 64
for front ya
Ah ic ic
If I would remake my pc I would spend much less on rgb but it's to late to go back lol
My aio was only 100$ less than my cpu
And that says something...
i wanted my fans to be rgb put i found a pack of like 6 of p12 for 10 dollars refurbished
That's a steal!
wait I don't know if anyone knows here but the fractal north mesh's only point is to have fans on the side
right?
No clue lol
TL120s?
3 pack of ARGB thermaltake fans
right*
What does argb even mean?
Adjustable rgb
With zones of lighting
And many various effects
Normal rgb doesn't allow this
They only allow single color
So control of individual leds
yep
tbh the TL120's don't have much of a "ARGB" really, I mean you can but it's not the best
*addressable rgb
oop, my bad
Minor detail, carry on
you think it's needed to have a side mesh panel with the north case?
hmm I see
cause the mesh can only have a 145mm clearance while glass is 170mm
cause of the mounting bracket
p12 arctic
You can take off the bracket iirc
so i'm really debating if a 13600k + 6800xt (or maybe better cause it's a dream build)
the mesh mounts on the bracket
very good combo
i'm saying the fan type
cause those are ARGB for a good price
yeah but performance over looks
also originally the build I have was supposed to be a 12600k + 6650xt
6650xt, ultra settings, maxing out at 170 at 1080p for COD..
maybe cause it's the highest it can go cause of my monitor lmao
Honestly
6800 is likely needless at 1080p but eh
In more demanding games it still has its uses
I plan on upgrading to 1440p fyi
That's good then
By then new GPUs will be out
mhm
And hopefully old stock won't run dry
that's what i'm kinda hoping
Whens fathers day!?
july 10th?
Oh God I gotta check
AMD's strategy seems to be launching new models as the old models that perform similar are running out
Jun 18th
that's what both biggest gpu companies are doing rn
And then dropping price as old stock runs dry
What do you mean by old stock
Not the case with Nvidia tho
^
That never happens
like 6000's
As new gpus roll out, old ones are no longer produced
Mhm
So stock will run out eventually
Ye
basically it costs amd to store the 6000's series and they want to release new GPUs.
**
Why didn't Amd go in the ai market
so they just release series one by one, replacing the 6000's version with the 7000's version
AMD merely sells the chips
It's because they thought it wasn't a viable market
i mean they'd be in the bottom of it tbh
Didn't realize it'd explode into such lengths
They're focusing on other markets, they only just caught up in gaming
cause there's so much AI
But to be fair
what they gotta focus on is the car market
Their upcoming Instinct accelerators are focusing on AI
AMD stuff inside electric cars n etc?
What they're focusing on is the console market tbh
oh ya
Car market is honestly not that big of a deal
didn't they release the handheld thingy
Bit late for ai no? Nvidea has it on lockdown lol
Yeah asus
but it had the amd chip
Steam deck also
The ally
Steam decks are so overrated
Why!?
Deck is genuinely good tho
Almost every handheld console except the Switch is AMD powered
I made so much money I think
Nvidia stocks be shooting up with AI market
Yessir
I sold it 2 hours before it jumped in price
Meanwhile they're losing 30% of the gaming market
Yeah AI is just too damn valuable
ok so, I found out that you can have 170mm of clearance with the mesh panel I think, just you can't put any fans in
I saw it jumped like 10% after hours so I assumed it was going to crash
Their market cap Is reaching
1 00 000 000 000
1T for short
I took my time with the number and still got if wrong
does anyone know if any fractal cases come with a fan hub?
And I can't even spell
Torrent does
what about north?
Oh only for torrent
Make sure they're 4 pin fans
Fractal south when
I wanna put ARGB fans inside the north but like..
Yes the North has a hub, some people said they didn't get it though
it does?
It's only a 4 fan hub though
Typically you can chain about 6 fans to one header
are these daisy chainable? ^
I mean connecting each one to the fan hub wouldn't be a problem right?
They could be daisy chained
That's what I did
I see a splitter in reviews
tbh daisy chaining is basically obligatory for budget orientated brands
Like deepcool, thermalright and stuff
well I just noticed that the glass case for the north doesn't include a fan hub
while the mesh does
That's pretty weird
that's pretty crappy ngl
Deepcool a budget brand?
I mean
Daym
Well I mean yes, in a sense
is it worth to buy the glass and just a seperate fan hub?
I think that their pricing Is just really good
idk how you'd mount or where to mount a fan hub in a case that it doesn't belong in
Just use daisy chain
And a couple headers on the board
That'll work just fine
rgb however is another problem to worry
So rgb hub will be needed
Wait does daisy chaning mean putting all the fans into a hub?
when I daisy chain or use the north fan hub?
Ah nvm
Daisy chaining simply means connecting fans in a chain
it's like extension outlets
you plug one into the wall, then plug another extension inside another extension outlet
So the software detects them in a certain pattern?
Ah, 8 see
I*
The software detects the fans as one whole array
But it shouldn't matter anyway, airflow doesn't really matter too much if the fans are the same
Oh
Trade individual fan control for no need for hub
Hub will allow you to connect and control each fans
- unless you're weird, you don't need to have like one middle fan red and the other green or whatever
aswell as have one spin faster than another
but yk if the north's fan hub is RGB?
I don't see argb being daisy chainable in this
ah
It's merely for powering the fans
so i'd have to buy a separate fan hub..
wanna link me one?
You could find em for like $10
this?
Yep
wait
That one
Same thing too
what's the difference except for that then
None lol
The 10 argb port one is ironically cheaper
I'd get that one
Not like you're gonna see it anyway
hmm it says the black one is magnetic
Is the 6650xt worse or better than the 6700xt gaming wise
I guess that's why price is higher
In vram bound scenario, the 6700xt wins big time
I'm assuming worse although very simmilar right?
If not, they're like 10% apart
Ah ic
ya 6650xt is powerful but it lacks vram
Like the 4060
oml
Overall from the videos I've seen the 4060 is generally not good right?
The cards being priced closely makes me suggest 6700xt over 6650xt
4060 is terrible
Don't ever fall trap and buy it
How about the 4070
Ah
Offers 3080 perf with less consumption, the 4070
Yeah, $100 less than 3080
Also dlls 3.0 not sure if the 3080 supports it
Shoulda been $500 but alas
you think about it, amd has the advantage rn for their 7000’s series
Ah ic
And future gpus
Another selling point
269 usd?
intel got best for budget gamers
100 for a 12100f or 13100f is super good for what you get
Arc is still iffy, but A750 has dropped to $199
they can learn from what nivida did.
gpus?
yuh
I've never seen someone truly use a intel gpu
Yes we're talking gpus
mb
Lol
Intel gpu is basically a niche rn
but amd should put 3d cache on the gpus
Def
For people who's brave enough
i mean for the 1-2 year of making them there not that bad
tbh A750 being at $200 tempts me
What do you have currently?
Yes but I'm simply stating a fact
A750 and 6600 at 200 and 180 are hella nice
7600 at 270 is like a close 3rd
Arc B750?
A is for Alchemist, B for Battlemage
A naming that actually makes sense somehow
E, Elemental?
Elementalist!
Yep
F is for finally the bit is over
Idek what you guys are saying but I'm totally for it
I mean I honestly am ok with Intel choosing to name gpus like this
Better than numbers
Radeon 7600 and R5 7600
Really?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09SZBJ5JZ/ref=twister_B0C68MQ33M?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 it says on this one "Small body, large capacity. Multi line management and control, keep the cables neat, support ARGB fan, ARGB light bar, etc., and synchronize the light efficiency of 5V 3pin interface equipment. (Note: the + 12V 4Pin RGB interface device is not supported! Do not insert! Please pay attention to the arrow marked on the ARGB equipment plug and insert it in the direction of 5V. If the insertion direction is wrong, there is a risk of damaging the equipment.)"
does that mean argb 4 pin isn't supported?
RGB is 3 pin
Sorry, 4
ARGB is 3
And I've checked, the fans you plan to get uses ARGB
3 pin
alr.
rgb is 4
ok ok that helps alot.
If you plug 3 into 4, watch the leds fry
but is that fan hub good? I think it says something about uhhh
It is good
Support fan speed reading and PWM Fan regulation. (due to the limitation of PWM mainboard IC reading principle, only the speed of a single fan inserted into the red interface is recognized).
That's simply some translation error I'm guessing
I mean that's fine but like, idk if it's concerning still.
But it will work
got it.
yes
Sweet. What kind of games do you play, and what resolution do you play them in?
Just got the older version too! The attachments are amazing!
So...I was told to come up with a list of three new possible router/modems. I have one already. I just need to find a top of the line, best money can buy model, and one that's your average run of the mill version. Needs to be able to cover 3000 SQ ft and be wifi 6 capable
glad they're working for you
Fps games and usually as high as I possibly can
Are you experiencing any performance issues or lag when you’re playing with your 1080ti?
Aye I need some help Bois
Changed the cpu fan and lights and fans don’t turn on everything has power to it though
Does it boot?
No
I checked all power connections usb ports have power
Everything else got power
I don’t know what’s wrong with it
Got any ideas?
did you touch anything else besides the cpu fan?
do you mean you literally only swapped the fan? or the whole cooler
The whole cooler
I went back to the stock cooler on a ryzen 5
did you remove the cpu from the socket at any point? accidentally? i know it's common to pull ryzen cpus out of the socket by accident
I had a cooler master and my dog ended up pulling the computer off the desk so it broke the fan on the thing so I went without the fan for a while and the computer worked but I went back to the stock one to hopefully get it to cool down
💀
I can check
you had the heatsink on right? just the fan was broken?
Yes
okay good LOL
Lemme check cpu
yeah i'd reseat it first
assuming you touched nothing else
did you notice hearing a click or anything when you try to power it on?
No
hmm okay
Does the motherboard have debug LEDs?
i was thinking the other possibility is that the fan is causing a short
debug leds won't do anything when there's no sign of life
if fans don't start spinning then the POST process is not starting
oof
Oof
yeah that doesn't look correctly mounted either
at least it looks like you managed to not destroy your pins
do you have dental floss?
Somewhere
you could use some floss to try to separate it more safely
or just twist it off with your fingers, but be careful with the pins
All right
man, i'm so glad AMD is using LGA and a real socket now
They just need better stock paste...
unfortunately this issue is still going to happen for years until AM4 stops being relevant
Dunno how USB ports have power though lol
well
the issue is clearly that the cpu was not correctly installed
cpu not correctly installed would cause POST to not begin, but wouldn't affect standby power
that's why that was my first guess
Fun

did you manage to separate it?
Yes
do you see the golden arrow on the bottom
Pins all good
now look at the socket, do you see the little arrow indent in it?
triangular shaped arrow
lining those up will tell you the correct orientation
so once you have the correct orientation you just need to lightly drop it in
if it doesn't go in by itself don't use force
or else you will no longer have a working cpu
okay now mount the cooler again and hopefully it works
recommend putting new paste on it
Do I let thermal paste dry first before setting it
no
you should not reuse paste
unless you're remounting on top of paste that was applied 5 minutes ago, sometimes it's okay
but it's better to clean off the paste and apply fresh paste when mounting a new cooler
Your paste shouldn't dry out when you're applying it
good luck
umm
i think you're having trouble mounting your cooler because the backplate has fallen out
the triangle on the cpu should align with the triangle on the socket
alternatively just put it in so that the text is facing the left
in the same direction as "SOCKET AM4" on the socket
Have you pulled the lever next to cpu socket up?
Oh nvm, it already is up
Is there any debug leds lit on the board?
It doesn’t work
Fans on now
At least
Idk lemme check
Don’t think my mother board has debug light
They're usually on the top right
Nope
Which board do you have?
which exact model?
Yep, that's your problem then
Remove the paste on the pins
You could use isopropyl alcohol
All pins bent now
😀😀
I appreciate y’all though
I’ll have to go buy a cpu soon
I’ll let someone do it for me 😂
Ah jeez
@grim osprey can you send a pic of the CPU
The beauty of am4 is if it's not bad, some really delicate hands can repair the pins
You have to be very careful tho, like featherlight touch about it
A lot are bent
Like 20 at least
Can’t really get a good pic
But pretty much all corners
And outside one
Ones
5
By the way I would suggest buying a cheap ssd heatsink for this 980 pro ssd you got
5600g
Ah oof
You could but that will be a significant step down
Yeah no kidding
So catch me up on what was happening
I had to change cpu fans
Cpu came off on the new cooler I tried to put on
And kept doing it
I bent pins
Yes, typical am4 issue
Yeah
I've had that happen to me too
And if the paste is old it STICKS
Like cement
Were you trying to install the cooler with the pc lying down?
Yes
So was it just not screwing into the backplate or was the backplate loose?
Back plate doesn’t screw into motherboard so it’s always loose
Ah, and it was giving you trouble yea?
Ye
Yeah ok, I can see how this played out
😂
the easiest way to do this is to take the motherboard out and rest it on a box so you can make the box hold the backplate in
You have a gpu yea?
AM4, legendary socket but crappy socket design
Yeah
Then go 5600
I got a 3060
You won't need a g
AM4 vs LG1700, which is the worse socket design
And ds3h is a bit cringe on power delivery for am4
Or if you want a cheap replacement with same perf
Ok
5600 is an actual upgrade
There is 5500
But 5600 is also not expensive
You have a mission
5600 is probably your best bet
Go buy double sided tape strips
I think LGA1700 is probably still the worse design compared to AM4 when considering the average user that won't know about contact frame
And attach it to the backplate and motherboard
the failure of AM4 is more catastrophic but less likely to come up compared to LGA1700
It'll hold it in place, and there's no real risk to it
Ima stick this damn 3100 on ig
but LGA1700 scores a point for being much easier to fix
Will it work or do I have to mess with wiping stuff
Yea hold on
Before we jump to that
For now, you can prop the backplate up in place
don't break the backup cpu too
😂
Find something that works, like a book
I got the tape no worries
I should’ve used it in the first place
Nah man, there's no manual on dodgy stuff like this
Manus use double sided tape but they don't recommend it to anyone who needs it
I prefer not to tape backplates and just hold them in place until screws can hold them
I've had to remove a taped backplate before, it's not fun
It's a 65w cpu so the tape is fine
If you can otherwise use books if it's still giving you trouble
I prefer just propping it up on something yeah
The you can prop the plate up and then you've got two hands to carefully put the cpu in
don't even need to remove motherboard if you have an appropriately sized object to fit within the case's backplate cutout size
Either way will work cos you have an extra hand to be careful about it
And some double sided tape is insanely strong and almost permanent
As for the 5600g...
nothing in pc building should be permanent if it can be avoided
You could try to repair it, or take it somewhere where they might want to repair it for a small fee
sell the 5600g on hws or ebay for cheap, some people like buying these bent pin cpus to repair them
grab a 5600 non-g
If you succeed it's a much smaller loss cos you can resell it ( you don't need a g cpu anyway)
Either way my hearts out for you man @grim osprey
I can understand if you're frustrated or want to vent a little
Lol
Lmao
I’m mad
But it’s ok
I understand stuff breaks
Especially if you’re not a professional
I did run out of thermal paste
Oof, need some more of that too then lol
Ima give up for rn lmao
if it makes you feel any better
Some of the best stuff
If y’all will dm if y’all are ok with helping later
I'm technically a professional and I accidentally drilled a hole into a 3090 because I had the bright idea of trying to mod it while I was sick
😂
back during the height of the shortage when that thing was worth $2500
Very true
Just drop a message in here later, we have quite a few helping hands, and you've got the solution to the troubles you had earlier
your local best buy (US) or similar retailer in other countries will probably have some selection of thermal paste if you want to do this without waiting for shipping
might cost more but if you want your pc running today might be worth
then again, you can also get away with not using thermal paste as a temporary solution
will be less bad than the cooler with no fan anyways
I've done plenty of power on tests with no thermal paste
Alrighty Tech Wizards, I need your expertise on what the best use of money would be to upgrade one of my current systems:
[CPU] Intel i5-11400F
[GPU] EVGA 3070 FTW3 ULTRA
[RAM] oLoy Blade 16 GB 3200Mhz CL18
GOAL OF UPGRADE: To play Cyberpunk 2077 in 4k at Max Settings (using DLSS Ultra Performance Mode) and gain much higher framerates.
(Currently sitting at 50-65 FPS at 4k Max Settings using DLSS Ultra Performance Mode)
Current decided upgrade: None, but thinking of spending a quick $50 on upgrading RAM just like what we did with my friend’s build from a couple of days ago. Currently thought-of upgrade: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092ZCVHS8?tag=bravesoftwa04-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1&language=en_US
More Information: The first thing that comes to my mind is to save money to buy a better GPU, but I would be happy with a more immediate performance increase. Am I better of dealing with 50-65 FPS and waiting for a 5090, or should I drop a quick $50 right now for a boost? —More on the $50 “boost”, just how much of a boost would I gain? Should I really just save my money and wait?
More Information Pt. 2: If I truly do go through with a quick “mini” upgrade, I’d love to spend a couple more bucks on RGB RAM. I love the look of my current oLoy Blade RAM. It’s so seamless and glossy.
Render in higher resolutions. Witness realistic pictures and smooth transitions. End choppy animation and catastrophic lag. Handle complex tasks with ease. Browse unlimited tabs and multitask like a pro. Do what you love faster with confidence. Sound like a dream? The new XPOWER Gaming DDR4 makes...
From personal experience going from 16GB 3000cl16 to 32gb 3932cl16 ram only offered around a 10-15 frames increase at 1080p
stutters aren't nearly as bad but not really worth the upgrade unless your goal is reduced stutters.
I do notice that I have many Lag spikes and screen tearing. Would upgrading my RAM improve that?
Screen tearing is gpu related.
Lag spikes would be ram.
Also at 3200cl16 you won't notice a difference.
Whenever I turn down my resolution or settings, though— I get neither. Would a RAM upgrade show a noticeable increase in a every day performance?
If your goal is reduced lag spikes with a noticable difference you'd want around 4000cl18 and try tune it to 4000cl16 or better.
Sometimes when going through parts of the city or during particularly hard rendering areas I get dips of -20 to -35 FPS. Is that still RAM related?
Mostly gpu.
gpu/cpu.
Ram would help but not a lot.
I run a 5700G + 3070 combo so pretty similar to yours.
Figures! I’m happy with my Chrome Tab performance if we’re talking about anything else RAM related. RAM upgrades would probably show minimal returns in my case
yeah.
Unless I do this 4000MHZ at CL16? (I heard that RAM upgrades become less and less effective at any resolution past 1080p, though)
I upgrade my ram due to Blender and the goal of having reduced stutters.
4000cl16 is where it made a noticable difference for situations where ram was the bottleneck.
If your bottleneck isn't ram then yes faster ram won't make a big difference.
Got it! In my case, though— It’s pretty much looking like saving for the 5090 is my go-to, then
Hopefully 50 series is just of good of a value as 30 was (pre-price-gouging)
To run a 5090 properly or a 4090 your gonna need a top end cpu or you'll be severely bottlenecked.
Ooooh, you’re right. i5-1x-600K+, at the minimum, right?
Currently every cpu bottlenecks a 4090 in resolutions below 4k.
Even the i9-13900KS?!
And only at 4K does the GPU start to bottleneck?
4090 is meant for 4k. Anything sub-4k will have a cpu bottleneck.
If I had a 13900KS and a 4090 right now, playing at my 4K, max everything settings, which would be the bottleneck?
1440P Ultrawide might work if you have the highest end cpu.
None.
Thought about it before! Too bad that there’s no true 4K ultrawides. Too small of a market
But yeah you'd be best off saving up around to do a cpu and gpu upgrade for like a 5090 and a top end chip if your goal is to have the best 4k experience.
I am currently doing the same.
Would I need a motherboard upgrade too, then?
Saving up 4.5k to do a dream build when 5090 and 8950x comes out.
Yes.
Welp
Full system needs an upgrade then, haha
I feel you there.
By that time we’re going to have 8K lmfao
I am in the same boat. No matter what I upgrade something's gonna be a bottleneck at the moment so I am just gonna do a full new system.
Or better yet high refresh 4k.
can’t wait to see my future kids play in their 64K VR insertable contact lenses when I have them
lmao.
With neuralink thought-based controls
I think it was either 8 or 12k where the retina can no longer see the pixels no matter how hard you try.
Even on these theoretical contact lenses, you think?
I am honestly tempted to get a neuralink once those have had some time to age well.
think so.
can't say for sure.
Because these would be TOUCHING your eyes
This is all so neat and expansive
Pong needs an 8K remake
.....
Me too!
Pato!
Welp I hope I was able to help you out. But yeah best off saving for a cpu or gpu upgrade vs ram.
Thanks again, Apex!
Btw 5090 isn't gonna be for another 2 years give or take, and you're usually better off doing something like a 6950xt (if you don't wanna do rt) or a 4070ti then another 600-800$ card in 2 years time, you'll spend a lot less because you can sell the card for maybe 400 or something and get the best of both worlds and the 600-800$ card will probably outclass a 4090
Thanks for the insight, Pato.
So, right now, if I have the funds, get a much nicer, temporary GPU upgrade with the 4070ti, and then buy the 5080 with selling my 4070ti + extra cash?
Thanks Pato!
Or whatever ungodly name they give the 7900xtx replacement next gen
Radeon Star Tech 79000xtXtx Extreme Edition Discrete Graphics Card
Good God
lmao
Nono RX 8950xtx pro max ultra
haven’t done much with it yet
What cpu do u have?
13700K
for the looks at this point also to solve a little bit of an overheating issue...
it’s choking on 16GB though (I need more memory)
Oh damnnn
This is a sin
Question, how do you all cable manage pc--->monitors/accessories/related systems?
I misread the bundle description. It thought it said I get 16GB or memory. It probably said 16GBx2 or something
Hmm
I guess context is Im going to be putting my new pc together and am getting a different desk, but I have a cat.. aka cable muncher cord breaker.. Just curious what others do
search "cable sleeve" on Amazon
Hey guys my computer green screen crashed and idk what to do, it wont post now
Ive unplugged the display cables, unplugged battery for a few minutes, and tried to hard boot
Cables seem to be fine, but I literally cant get it to post
Got any debug LEDs?
get rid of the cat
Braided cables and double sided tape
Most cats don't like to chew braided cables and they REALLY don't like tape
what gpu?
were you overclocking it?
green screen tends to be a catastrophic gpu failure from my experience
so if you weren't overclocking it and it green screened then it's probably a vram failure or something
which is why it's not posting
when i was overclocking my rx 570, i got a green screen and the driver was completely corrupted after rebooting
had to DDU it
crashed so hard it went back to microsoft basic display adapter
lmao
i managed to make my 3080 red screen, green screen, and blue screen
a different kind of graphics card RGB...
Impressive
filled out the whole pokedex
green and blue screens were from extremely unstable vram oc in windows
red screen was from exteremely unstable vram oc in linux
I like when vram errors happen and textures fly across the map while still attached to something so they stretch on the vertexes
Keeps me on my toes, never know when that pesky raider will suddenly turn into an eldritch horror
lol
