but if you looked at core temps they were all like 24C
so some sensor other than cores was reporting 50C
even on my 13700K, some sensor is currently way higher temp than my cores
dunno what it is
Okay.... so now I'm here.... what do I do now?
I reused my old hard drive and ssd... so Windows is already on it
Am I gonna have to install bios next?
- you have your memory in the wrong slots
- your old windows install will probably be bootable, but may have performance/stability issues, this is quite random and often depends on what previous hardware it was installed on
- bios is already "installed", you don't really need to worry about this. just press f10 to exit bios and it should boot to windows.
move your memory module that is in the leftmost slot to the rightmost slot. you have them in slots A1 (leftmost) and A2, when they should be in A2 and B2 (rightmost) for proper dual channel operation
Oh my RAM?
XMP can be enabled once you know if it's able to boot windows too
Kk
Alright I switched them now what?
Okay so… it’s not showing windows in the boot manager at all
It should be on there as it was on my previous pc and on the ssd
Nvm! I figured it out!!!
Thank you all... so so so much!!
Yeeee
Hey guys, I’m wondering on my computer, I recently installed a driver for my AMD radeon 5700 xt and all of a sudden my computer decided to freeze everytime I log into it. I end up wiping my computer to see if that works and it still freezes everytime I log in to my computer. I’m at a loss at the moment, but I’m wondering if reslotting my graphics card would work (my computer is able to boot in safe mode btw)
?ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Run and install a known good driver version, sometimes hiccups happen
I end up doing a clean wipe of my computer, does that not get rid of the driver?
Depends on how clean that wipe was
If you completely removed the partitions and recreated everything, that counts
If you installed over your install, that doesn't count
I basically reset it to back to “factory settings”
A PC reset falls into the latter category, you still have old data that can interfere
Alright thank you. I’ll try to do that, but does safe mode with networking work with Wi-Fi. My router is far away from my computer
Sometimes, but you can always download on your phone and copy from there
Thanks. I appreciate it
Oh crap! So I ended up putting 2 different power supply power cords together. Ones for the old pc and one is for the new one. Is there a way to tell them apart? Lol 😅
Corsair and Thermaltake
Uh oh
Corsair cables are easy to tell at least, they usually have "type 4" or something printed on the side of the connector
One looks visibly newer
Psu to wall
Oh that kettle cord doesn't matter, it's universal
The booth plug into the power supply.
put the higher spec'ed power cord w/ the higher watt psu
(but, i bet they have the same specs)
They're usually rated at 7A which will handle up to 1000W no issues
i've got psu's that span 25 yrs...depends on how current (get it?) the psu model is
Super old ones might be 5A you're right
but, yeah, all of my newer ones have same specs
10A each
it's just a power cord; like @potent portal was saying - they're interchangeable...
Does this help? The Thermaltake is a 850 and the corsair is a 750
they're same specs...u good using either w/ either psu
Those cords can handle 1300W each, doesn't matter which you use
Aight thanks
Yo this is why I hate living here
Look at this

Seems reasonable enough?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, Radeon RX 6600, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
How about paying 1850 dollars for exactly this list?
Cuz that's what I'd have to spend to get the parts here in Hungary
Sure the cooler would cost like 80 bucks and the SSD roughly 25
7700X and 6600?
but that's still 400 bucks less than what it'd be hereú
oof
Would upgrade to 6900XT/4080 down the line
but I don't exactly have that kinda money rn
still, 400 dollars difference
That's ridiculous
I mean for gaming the 7600X is almost the exact same
Also that mobo is SUPER overkill
honestly the parts themselves don't matter that much, it's more me being infuriated by the prices
idea was to get a good foundation now
Then slap a 7950X and a 4080/7900XT into it down the line
Most B650 can support the 7950X
Is there a pcpartpicker for Hungary? I can’t really seem to find one
fbihvbivdasísafdcífdsfaísihdsa
cough So
As I was trying to say
I can't order things from Germany since the warranty would be a nightmare
and customs loves to seize electronics packages
so I'm not willing to risk it
Guess you'll have to travel to Germany
Grab a passport and drive a few hours yeah
don't have a passport or a drivers license for that matter
Nor any knowledge of German
Train?
Hold on lemme look up ticket prices
I need to take the train to go be with my girlfriend 😭
Yeah my "few hours" comment assumed they were in the city furthest away, worst case scenario
If it makes you feel better I used to make a 5 hour drive every chance I got to be with my then gf, now wife.
Yes let me travel 11 hours by train to buy a PC
I can literally buy the 6600 from the to and from travel fare
14 hour
I'm just saying it's worth it for the right person
Pull a Forrest Gump and go cross country a few times
Is it really 11 hours into Germany from hungry?
Maybe that's taking multiple stops into account
Well yeah but you don't need to go all the way to Berlin
apparently direct train too
Sorry my sense of scale is off when I can drive for 16 hours straight and stay in one state
I can buy the GPU from the ticket price no cap
2×50k HUF
tbf that's to Berlin but still
The passport will cost some too
and
it's literally 40 euro for a train ticket to Vienna
One way too
Lodging in Vienna because finding good prices would take time
Not to mention not worrying about customs seizing your stuff like you said
Get Amazon de to deliver to a locker or ups store in Vienna
It'll be there when you get there
renting an apartment for a night be like
And then the delivery driver shows up
Tho I don't think I can fit both the PC, monitor and GPU into a suitcase
You need the whole setup to get the parts?
It'd be... interesting really
or I can just go AM4 and not have to pay an arm and a leg
😄
Well it'd be a primarily gaming rig
With a streaming side
That's a pretty easy bar to meet I think
Well yeah
My idea would've been 1440p high refresh rate but for now I'd be satisfied with 1080p 60fps
Just to get started
@potent portal thank you so much, my computer is working now, but why did installing a driver for my gpu cause my computer to freeze in the first place
Driver hangups, especially kernel drivers, can affect the entire system
And if that driver is hanging for the GPU then it stops trying to send frames and may appear stuck on the last one displayed
Thank you. I appreciate it. I just did a clean install and it’s working just fine now
Got my rma back for my old ram
Drunk Msi burner
just dumb me. i had rivia and afterburner running.
well now that i got that sorted. how do i change the name of my framerate monitor? I changed it and applied it in settings but it still says d3d11
Idk
The OSD always confused me
I think I figured out how once
With the help of someone on here probably
got it. i was overriding the wrong thing. you have to override the group not graph.
in the settings you go to monitoring tab then go to whatever you want to add then select it then click show in OSD then if you want to change the name of it then also select override group name then type what you want then hit apply
if my motherboard was broken would it have to be stuck in bootloop or can it also just not give input at all
ebay?
no luck
amazon?
no luck
flea market?
haven't tried
govdeals.com and look for bulk pc parts near you (if youre in the us)
schools and other goverment and federal companies always put stuff up there for auction
idk where you're going to find something that old anywhere else tbh
newegg has ddr2 on their website
like 20 bucks and under
@frosty forge Nice build, looking great too. I'd get something to prop up that GPU though, you can already see the PCB flexing.
So I have a lenovo ideapad 1 15iau7 with a 1235u that likes to kill windows everytime drivers are graphics drivers are installing
I have a reinstalled windows multiple times both 11 and 10
Yet everytime windows does its lil driver installation the screen goes gray and stays like that
I have been able to boot into safe mode a couple of times tho
Others it completely killed the os
This laptop was perfectly fine untill I decided to go and install win 10 on it which WORKED untill it didn't...
tastes like pennies and nickels. 0/10 would not eat
looks like that cheap as chips samsung that MC bundles with Zen 4
it sucks
You can get top end 32GB DDR5 for as low as $82 these days
so if you're looking to buy it standalone I wouldn't
you're tryin to tell me i didn't have to spend 130 bucks?
That's a lot for a shot of alcohol
im happy with what i have. i got my stuff like 2 or 3 months ago now idr
has either Hynix M or A which is good up to 10,500-11,000MHz
everything has been goin down in price since then. even the 980 pros have been cut in half on price
ew but y is it in red
you are saying I can oc that to 11,000mhz ambient?
980 pros have almost always been terribly priced
In 5 years? probably
rn no, LN2
ambient you could get an 8000 daily most likely tho
Imcs/boards not good enough for hynix
i picked up a 2nd 2tb 980 pro when they went on sale
k, I've been waiting to buy it, but I'm about to press buy.
ye you just need the proper board or IMC to achieve that
well I'm waiting
?
what boards?
best chances are Z790 Apex, Z790 Kingpin, Z690 Kingpin (binned), Z790i edge, Z690i Unify, Z790 Tachyon (but also no not really)
mhm
I see..
decent 1dpc will do 7600+
idk what 1dpc is
decent z790 asus will also do 7600+
On a reasonable priced board you'd be looking at 7400ish
That's still good as heck though yeah?
Or i guess 7600
yeah if it's tuned well
Indood, probably not a huge perf jump over something like 6400 tho
timings gets most of it
but for $90...
Indeed 90$ is good
M is..?
k well I pressed buy
so it's like, $85-$90 is a no brainer
^
luckily I don't have anything to stick it in right now.. but before it goes up any more..
I.. that sounds bad..

yea hahahaha
all I can say is.. UWU
indeed
I forgot she's not in this server LOL
lolol
is this a good score to have?
barely under stock score which is expected
On topic of this i started watching community it's hilarious
oh yeah I've seen a lot of the series
It's on netflix i started watching it because exam season so i obviously need something i can binge
Me when someone says eu list
(we love snr chang)
Anyone know if asus b660 boards bios are updated so they can run with 13th gen? Like this board
That one does not have flashback
You'd have to be pretty lucky for it to be 13th gen ready out of the box
and you'll get flashback
$150-160 usually
plus the extra quality that comes with z690
Lol yeah they are, was looking at the bundles
good in a bundle
Is it possible to swap parts out in MC bundles?
yesn't
I don't think the ram can change but the mobo and cpus can
they still represent a good bundle if you're willing to drop the extra into one
Rn I’m debating between their 13900k and 7950x bundle
Both come out to roughly the same price of $800
Well $900 with a cooler
for cad right
or is there something else
as well
(put gaming to one side for a moment)
Geuss I'm out of luck
you are luckn't
CAD mostly
I’m tempted to give up the idea of audio production and pursue that later on
It would drop my AVX-512 needs
yea I cant get anything to work which is odd cause I got it to work once the first time I installed windows
Skill issue
AVX-512 in mind - 7950X
Otherwise the 13900K just decimates in CAD over AMD
Might just send it back to amazon
and better in games
sounds pretty bad
Honestly just send it back
Its so weird
I didnt even do anything to the mf
My mom didnt keep to box tho so rip
we'll see what amazon thinks of that
LOL
This is the 13900k bundle https://www.microcenter.com/product/5006265/intel-i9-13900k,-asus-tuf-z790-plus-wifi,-gskill-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-3-in-1-combo
Also if they let me swap out the ram, what should I get?
ask them for cheaper ddr5 if they have it
hold on
lemme look
rule of thumb, anything under CL36, over 5600MHz
is guaranteed Hynix
almost certainly
@vague oracle
if this is cheaper
wait do you want 32 or 64gb
64 would be better innit
64 would be good yeah
Yo I need some help
what with
yo im helping a friend out with a pc build, hes looking for 1440p gaming pc mostly to play minecraft with shaders and stuff but just generally for gaming and this is what ive come to
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/F6XPRv
he hasnt really got a set budget but he just wants it as cheap as possible so ive tried to go for the most budget parts i can, just wanted to ask if theres any improvements i can make or if theres any parts ive cheaped out on too much that it might affect the stability/performance of the build
appreciate any help
I checked and it seems like the most decent 64gb kit is 280$ so pass
💀
@fossil cedar your country, Britain
Has more screwed up prices again
It's cheaper yet more resources to buy 4x8 SP ram
@velvet hatch my list is barely any different
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Only real changes are 16gb more ram and a much better board with wifi
appreciate it
The stock cooler with the 5600 works quite well so you don't need a single tower
is the extra 16 gigs worth it in terms of price to performance?
oh neat
But uh, I'm not 100% sure on one thing
Shaders+6650XT
I know MC can have a real nvidia bias to it, so it might be worth getting a used 3060 instead for 1080p
yeah i debated doing that or going to a 6700xt
Or maybe a 2080/super on the cheap for decent 1440p
Hard to say if we're really stringent
The builds we posted tho are 1080p builds
1440p would be pushing it a bit
yeah i agree tbh
if he wants to do 1440p, prob have to go to like a 3070 or 6700xt/6800 right?
or maybe even intel with like an A750?
Nah, A750 is up to like, under 3060Ti level
It's good but a long way from recommending
yeah he talked about finding cheap gpus in person at cex but idk how reliable it is lol
ye alr
If he can it would be dope. I don't have too good of a gauge on UK market so couldn't tell you how much a used nvidia card is worth
it all depends on stock lol once found a used 3090 for like £500 at one but it looked a lil dodgy
That build would scale well on 1440p tho, up to say, 3090-ish territory before it struggles
i suppose he can always get like a 6700xt and then if he wants better he can just sell it and upgrade
3090 for 500£ would fit right in here tbh
He could yeah
Just avoid the RT shaders
💀
ye no it aint got a hope with ray tracing 🗿
he says hes gonna start buying parts in summer so i prob still have some tinkering to do anyway 😭
anyway lol appreciate the help ill relay it back to him and see what he wants
have a good one
Np,
@velvet hatch oh one more thing
If you pick a b450 board, make sure it has a physical bios switch
Afaik if you want to save a buck the prime b450m-a ii has one
It's like 70-something pounds
5600 may not work if not
ye dont like some sellers also just sell them with bios flashback for like an extra few quid
prob will do lol
cheers
Used 5700xt, is there a lower tdp cooler alternative with same performance at this price range?
In US?
I’m in sea. Has similar price to us i think
I see 6600, 2060, around the same price range
How about 6600xt vs 5700xt?
4 sticks??
But that c*rsair ram tho?
It's not
6600 , I lose about 20fps on diablo4😭
What is this jedec
Ew nvm noticed that was c20
Bruv
There is a kingston 3200 kit for same price tjo
3200 what speed
C16
6600 xt fr
And ds3h ac is cheaper than the tuf smh flex
Yes it is but a520m runs a 5950x
Not even joking
But it's not gonna he running a 5950x
Eh not worth it
Is that why they are worth 40usd over other boards. I saw the b450m prime n was wondering why it’s so expensive it’s like a b550m highend price
The prime-A ii is super cheap with a bios switch, 80usd-ish
But yes a bios switch on a mobo is pretty valuable
Let's you roll forward the board to be compatible with newer gen without needing another cpu
@velvet hatch
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Y3mqTn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Id do that instead, save 15 quid
Bruv you dropped 5 pounds off the mobo to make it never work with any upgrades
Smh I thought this was 20p
Kolink good?
Yeah like 8£
?
is the b550 less upgradeable?
B tier
The board
Ooo
Vs the a520m? Absolutely. The tuf has reviews of it running a 3950x
Yeah but nothing really worth upgrading to and 5000 series is the last one on am5
Newbie question can roll back to previous bios to one that supports pcie4 for 3000s?
Saw a video comparing b450 n b550 tuf with 5800x
Only b550 and x570 have gen 4
And a520 i guess
The tuf a520m is a520 on steroids
It's stupid good for no reason
slightly cheaper ram tho, is there a difference with 4x8gb and 2x16gb really?
Patos ram is better
2x16gb is better
And cheaper by like a pound
Ya, a pound
lol
I got ratio'd
Sorry lemme aricanify it for most people in the server 1lb
B450 supported pcie4 for 3000 series briefly 🤣
case like a 100 quid on amazon tho, anywhere you can buy cheaper?
Nope
Gonna look into a520m
Didn’t know before
Oh i just used what Felix was, assumed you already bought the case 1 sec
mb, i had it down as 49.94 with the original case cause thats the same as white version, just that black was out of stock
I used the white case price
Ya
oh right ye
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
is that just a thing with supply or does black just cost more lol
neat
true lol
thats just reminded me actually he wanted it in white lol so thats better 💀
💀
I would personally go with the a520 and pato's list
I think 10 pounds to make a 5800X3D fit is worth it
ye and then like a decent refresh rate 1080p monitor
ye
his dad works in like architecture so hes just got a bunch of 144hz 4k monitors lying around 😭
lucky chap
nah dw hes got monitors, he can just run one of his ones and then turn resolution down to 1080p
Personally i just don't think it's worth upgrading from a 5600 on the same platform
🤷
That's not gonna look very good btw
ye im a lil concerned about that, aint like the ratio not 1:1 or smth
ill ask if he got a 1080p one lying around
@velvet hatch HP X24ih
Or G24F 2
Between the 2, G24F 2 is worth the extra
But if he's tight then both are good
neat
i think hes got some but i been looking for some monitors myself anyway so cheers lol

I'll upgrade u in a minute
No I won't
My vrm can't handle
- cri *
When's tuesday
Yeah, select boards
Tuf gaming was one of the boards they hv it till bios 1804
They also took some boards away from gen 4 support
Going gen 4 isn't really worth it tho
There's no GPU that you can really run gen 4 with AM4 and make sense of it
And gen 3 nvmes are good for 98% of people
So lastest bios better even if I have 3600?
Well this is AM4
You go with the bios that works best
If you have no issues now, then updating might introduce issues due to other bugs
You would typically at least try to run latest to see how well it works tho
But for the layman it's better to be like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Cos you can introduce a lot of weirdness with agesa changes
I had one time I did a bios update and my windows was essentially permanently bricked @dense brook
5900X moment
I went through a number of issues on that particular board tho so your mileage will vary

Inb4 my sn550 almost ties with my p5 plus in the import category (rand)
Congrats on ur one category
I will send u a sticker
Enjoy
1/2 lol?
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, my family has been this for a long time. We got so many old things
Ur ||my other half idk funny tuesday joke||
May i dm u
Just ask in here
Idk which psu lol. So many noob questions
Ryzen 5 3600 -> (later 5600x)
Thermaltake Peerless Assasin
Asus Tuf B450M Gaming Pro S
Crucial Ballistix ddr4 3600 8G x2
Asus 2060 6g dual cool
CX550m
AP201 Case
Arctic p12 Fans x4
Asus tuf psu (tier b) 600(or 650 don’t remember ) is cheaper in my region but no modular
Do you have the cx550m rn
Nope
Tuf 650 would be way better
The cables on that thing fold up terribly well anyway
Being non modular is hardly a crutch for it
he said he willing to spend more for 1440p so i just stuck a 6800 in it lol
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/xvvnY9
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Still looks good
You're fine man
There's a 12gb 2060 but it's usually way overpriced
Without liquidcool, 5800x not doable rite? Well it will be for years later
6600xt better then 5700xt n cooler?
About the same
Oh ig if you land the peerless assassin the 5700xt sounds like the better deal
Tysm @cyan ravine saves me so much time
Peerless assassin on sale here
38usd white rgb version
That's kinda nice
It’s out of stock in NA?

5700x is just cooler (usually cheaper 5800x )
hes now instead telling me he just found a 165Hz 1080p monitor 🤦♂️
ima just go in the middle and do a 6700xt https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/7WLJ6r
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech X3 Mesh ATX Mid Tower
I'd grab this one instead
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/RFGbt6/xfx-radeon-rx-6700-xt-12-gb-speedster-swft-309-video-card-rx-67xtyjfdv
Nicer and 6 quid cheaper
also just remembered he got ethernet so should i just swap out the wifi mobo for the non wifi version? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/KpCFf7/asus-tuf-gaming-a520m-plus-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-tuf-gaming-a520m-plus
Wifi for like 10 pounds?
The wifi is worth 8 quid
oh ye true
ill just ask him lol
cheers
is that a lot?
Quite cheap
rip left me on read ._.
oh lmao
ye true you dont need the little knobs sticking out
Good wifi is usually like 25ish
jesus
And takes up a pcie slot
he didnt reply so ill just keep the wifi lol
I would
appreciate the help my guy
I don't use wifi on mine but the Bluetooth can be handy, and wifi can't hurt
No probs
what would happen if I put a 5950x or 5900x on my B550M DS3H v1.4?
should work fine
The more I learn the better hardware I want.
5800x3D + 3060 is so good
That would be an excellent combo for 1080p
Iirc you won't even see the benefits of x3d with a 3060 even at 1080p

An average of an extra 10fps over a 5600
6600xt is a lil bit better than the 3060 for refrence
Hello, I’m completely new to the gaming pc scene and I have absolutely no idea or clue what to purchase and how to assemble parts to build a pc. Can someone guide me?
For sure. What is your overall budget? Any wiggle room if any on that budget? What types of games will you be looking to play? Do you care about high fps or max settings?
- what country?
Rlly don’t want to go over 3k max preferably 2.5k main games are valorant apex and forza horizon maybe a bit of mc and I’m not HUGE on flashy graphics but I would absolutely love to get the smoothest and most fps possible on those big games
But I feeel like that’s gonna hurt my wallet heavily
Are you near a microcenter?
I don’t think I am
They have awesome bundle deals
At 2.5k.. you'll def get a PC more than capable of running those games at max settings high fps.
OMG are u dead serious?
Top tier easy at 2.5k
Is it possible for you to assist and help me so I don’t stupidly buy something I shouldn’t
Holy I’m lucky
I have 1 more question..
If you don't need super duper awesome graphics.. you could lower your budget to 1500 and still get a machine capable of playing those game phenomenaly
Maybe not a question xD
Ahhh
Well thing is
I obviously don’t want to play a game that’s uninteresting to look at
But idc for the best ever graphics
I always prefer performance over looks just a bit fancy is fine
Yeah 1500 is def still in that range of pretty graphics and good performance.
2.5k is getting up there with over the top stuff that you may not need.
Ohh
I’m stupidly new to all of this and always thought that the pros and streamers spent 4-5k for pcs in order to run games on high graphics with lots of fps
So, most pros in fps style games actually run their graphics at low so they can squeeze out more fps.
I see
They spend that much to make it flashy with lots of lights and shinies
Ig it’s more usually the content creators
Makes sense
Anyways it’s typically ppl with money lmao
I don’t need all of that tbh just decent stuff
I'm currently at work and about to "finish" my "sit down" break, so I won't be able to make a list for you, but I figured I'd ask all the questions that would have been asked anyways.. I'm sure someone will come a long and put one together for you. I can try in between customers, but it's a bit difficult.
Oh it’s perfectly fine! I’m just oblivious to everything so I’m finding any help I can get I’ll get someone eventually
Thanks tho
Hey, id be willing to help
Just to make sure I got everything, how much would you like to spend? And you're in the us and dont care about looks much?
This is an option, if you wanna spend more a better cpu would definitely be useful https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zrCLzf
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
That's spending more, more of a middle ground. Could also go down to 13400f with a 214xt
They said $1500-2000 preferred
I'd almost say going DDR5 would be good especially since that hynix is so cheap right now
So that second list falls right in there
Ima do one more for 13600k d5 7900xtx, and one d4
Yeah I'd do DDR5 too, 13th gen really likes it
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Also for monitors, I'd suggest m32u for 4k, and g27q for 1440p (m27q-p, m27q, x27q and m32 are also great, just not great priced right now)
In regards to the x27q that I've had for a little less than a year.. I'm starting to have weird issues with the whole right side of my panel. A lot of flickering/weird image burn in.. it goes away if I turn monitor off and back on, but in the last 2 weeks, it's happened 3 times.
Oh thanks would love the help! Yes southeast us 1.5-2.5K maybeee to 3k preferably not. Val apex and forza. Don’t need stupid high graphics just good graphics but smooth fps all that matters for me
If u can help me achieve all those in my budget I’ll be the most thankful
And I rlly want to make purchases by tonight
You'r posted 4 different builds. With your budget. I'd recommend the last list he posted. I believe you won't regret it. It'll last you a good many years of gaming.
And it's still under $2k.
I haven't had any issues on mine which I've had around 7 months I think
Use the rest of your budget to go towards the monitors and keyboard/mouse
I heard a lot of ppl use 3090s card is that good?
Ah I see
Yeah we got it same time, but idk.. mine just randomly started acting up these last 2 weeks.
7900xtx kicks a 3090’s ass
The 4070 ti matches it for much cheaper
The 7900xtx matches the 4080, if not beats it I believe
This server strives on getting people the best bang for their buck. 😁
Imo, if you're just gaming, I'd go for the 4070 ti 13600k build with a 1440p monitor
Though I would switch it to ddr5
Since it's like $35 more for a good upgrade
But 4k gaming is so noice
For someone's first pc who doesn't overly care about graphics it's not necessary at all
Just exactly what I’ve been looking for omg I’m new to this and I have no dang clue what anything stands for or what it means
Depends on the resolution, the 4080 wins at 4k and it's a tie at 1440p. 4080 has a couple more features though.
Well I mean for valorant I’ll be runnning low graphics prob they still look good, it’s mainly apex and forza graphics that are very realistic
No problem at all. Just because.. you do know you'll be putting this PC together yourself right? At least physically. We can help you from here.
oh yes
Alright cool
I just need ppl to guide me that’s all
I'd do this with g27q https://pcpartpicker.com/list/B7b86r
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Like where to put where cause I have no idea lol
Could go for 7900xt as well, dealers choice
Valorant I can run at 240 fps with a 13600k and 3060 ti
Wow these are unbelievably cheaper than I was expecting
This is with a frame limit too
Building your own PC is 99% going to be cheaper and better.
I was expecting myself to be spending over 2.5 to 3 thousand for a DECENT pc running decent fps
Mk noted
You could do a 2.8k or so 4090 build if you really wanted to, but absolutely pointless for what you're doing
Nah you can build a sub 1k PC that'll give decent perf
Imo around 1600 is the best price/perf for pc budgets atm
Well.
I do want to save as much as I can but also get the BEST at what I have yk?
So I don’t wanna underspend either
If that makes sense
I mean, if you're fine with a used gpu
Oh wait
I forgot the 6950xt exists
$600 4070 ti performance
Ew
One sec
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Could go 13400f as well to save $115 and have a very similar gaming experience
To absolutely min max it, 5600 would do the job, but imo the 13400f with pretty decent d5 that should oc very well is worth it
To save more, could go for a used 3080/6900xt/6950xt/6800xt
Bro…
There’s no absolute way
I checked pc builds and there are soooo many builds under 1k that looks dope as hell
Like they look more expensive than they are
For under 1k, one sec lemme make you a list
How…
Oh no pls don’t I want to utilize my money lmao
I’m willing to spend just not “overspend”
I’ll go over 1k and even 2k if I need
I don’t mind
just not over my max budget which is capped at 2.5-2.7k
near 3k basically
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
SA is locked on 13400 tho 💀
Imo, this and the 4070 ti one are the best options for you
If you really want to spend more, 7900xtx and 13600k ddr5 build
Person doesn't really know much about pcs so I doubt they'll be overclocking anytime soon
So why mention the oc at all
12600k not really worth $20 more
Ram can carry over and oc it in the future, but I doubt they'll be overclocking soon
Hmm fair enough
Also ram oc tends to give more frame games than cpu oc when gpu will likely be limit factor with 4070 ti or 6950xt at 1440p
Will any of u guys be available later tonight?
I probably won't be, I might fall asleep soon
Oh
I will be in about 5 hours.
Oh dang…
Time zone diff I forgot
Well damn
that sucks
I'm east coast too, I just have to be up at 6 am
I'm 3 hours behind you.
That’s why I wanna purchase stuff soon
I might be up tho, and there's other people here who can help just as well as us too
West coast I see
The only coast. 😉
Yeah I understand it’s totally fine
Lmao
Anyways, if you need further help can just ask here and someone will respond eventually
They call it the golden coast for a reason
I just rlly need somebody to guide me on buying the right stuff so I don’t end up wasting money and parts that won’t do me any good
Then goes 1-2k down the drain
yk
and I have no knowledge whatsoever so that’s even worse
Gotcha will do
Yeah we get it. The past few years were awful for PC building so you really did need 3-4k to build a decent one, and prebuilt computers have huge markups that put them at the same specs for 25% more money.
Yeah exactly
I always have the thought that u need to spend more to have more
When gaming
U get what u pay for theory
But then I get scared that illl be forced to overspend money I don’t have or not tryna spend
Just to play a game I want to play
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower
Sadly they count on people going by that mantra so they'll jack up the price of mediocre parts cough cough samsung 980 cough
what do you think for a home office build for like LONG term?
Lmao
don't buy 980 pls
also home office doesn't need 12600k
psu is in d tier i believe
Even worse, E tier
E is for explosive
s12iii has been planted
You can save a lot of money on a home office PC and just go for a 12100 and use the stock cooler
The 12100 was keeping up with high end CPUs and GPUs for a long time
^
Laughs in e tier PSU that was in my girls build.....

I've since replaced it, but I had no idea it was e tier.. it wasn't until it started making super funny noises that I decided I was gonna get a new one lol
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100, Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower
13100 is cheaper rn I think
Yeah but you'd need to update bios
Ah ok
So you could spend the extra $15 on a mobo with flashback (or a newer model) and save $15 on the cpu
Just a tradeoff
Does b660 ds3h have bios flash?
no
Ah that sucks
almost all b660 lacks flashback
it's not am5 where even $100 a520 has flashback, sadly
Only two I know have it are tomahawk and aorus ax
even asus proart b660 has no flashback
Yeah so the option would be https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FVqPxr/asrock-b760m-hdvm2-d4-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b760m-hdvm2-d4
Since it supports 13100 out of the box, but is also $25 more
yes, a supposed pro board
There's no cheaper board with flashback
dang
Totally not worth in an office pc
Yeah seconded
yeah, and even then, the most id ever install is a low-mid range gpu if she wanted to play the sims. Thats about it lol
appreciate it!
ssd could certainly be cheaper though
Decent b660 and 12100 could go to 13600kf later on if wanted
check mp44, p41 plus and a60
Mp33 is $40
sorry, mp33
ye mp33 is straight up cheapest ssd that's not trash rn
below 100 for 2tb iirc
$70 2TB
cheap af ssd
Alr
i can easily resell it and make bank
How big is the performance difference between the 7950x3d and 7950x?
X3d are amazing in games
doesn't matter in anything outside of gaming
Okay 7950x it is these
If you're gaming 7800X3D beats all of those
I know it sounds weird but trust me bro
(It's because there's no extra latency going cross-CCD on the infinity fabric since there's only 1 CCD)
None of these words are in the dictionary
Hence
The only time to get a 7950X is if you're doing an all core workload, and a 7950X3D is for people that spend a lot of time playing CS:GO, and other games sometimes.
I MIGHT just go with a prebuilt pc here as my first pc!
Might just be the best current choice for me since I don’t know much
Magnificent AMD Gaming/Streaming Build
Is this a good setup to run 3 games?
Glorious AMD Gaming/Streaming Build
Or is this one better
A bit pricy
Also heard some prebuilts allow u to change the parts to ur liking
Which games and what resolution/refresh rate?
Do you have a monitor you plan to use already, or are you buying a new one?
Uh
Well
These two streamers use the exact monitor
The zowie benq
2546
Xl
I think it has 200 something hz
Do I need a higher hz monitor to keep up?
Not sure if that’s too low or not
That's a monitor specifically for esports games
1080p 240Hz, TN panel
99.9% of people can't tell the difference between 165Hz and 240Hz
19 something x 1080
Ok if you're going 1080p you can get a MUCH cheaper PC
Not always, in fact it's often the opposite
I just don’t know the difference it makes in gaming performance
Oh
Ok I’m confused now lololol
Sorry
Higher refresh panels tend to have worse ghosting and overshoot
Around 165/170Hz is a sweet spot
Pros are the ones going for every millisecond they can save, image quality be damned
Yes
The monitors that can do both cost a LOT of money
I’ve watched their streams it looks pretty good
Or maybe they are just good
LOL
ahhh
I see
On a stream it's not capturing the image from the monitor, it's capturing from an external source
Assuming closer to a thousand if not over huh?
Ahhh
Damn
So much that goes into this lol
I rlly need to pick wisely
Shop the Alienware 500Hz Gaming Monitor (AW2524H), featuring the world's fastest IPS panel gaming monitor with 500Hz refresh rate. Or view all computer monitors at Dell.com.
I just wanna game decent graphics but good fps that’s all
And maybe record clips to post here and there
Nothing more than that
Oh ok
Haven’t seen Alienware in a while
$750 for a 1080p monitor is just disgusting, but that's honestly one of the few good ones that are that fast
You can get a good 4k 120Hz monitor for that price
Most people that have that monitor didn't pay for it. They get it for free from their team or a sponsorship.
Oh wow
Lmao
Makes sense
Well again
Don’t need a super duper flashy highly detailed graphic monitor
Just don’t want terrible blurry pixels
So basically in the middle
Decent to good will be fine
On Val I run low graphics anyways
If you're playing forza you'll want a good IPS because that game has a lot of motion and very high detail graphics
any good motherboard suggestions?
For what CPU?
7950x3d
These don't come already built
Any special features you need, like USB C on the front panel or wifi?
Oh they don’t?
I thought they were for a moment lol
No, they're just pre made lists
Nah, if you want a pre built I could find one, but it'll be a good bit worse price/perf than building
Yeah, just mostly worse value than the builds I sent earlier
Oh ok
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YZgFf7/gigabyte-b650-gaming-x-ax-atx-am5-motherboard-b650-gaming-x-ax
Make sure to update bios ASAP so it doesn't explode
I rlly rlly don’t wanna go over 2.5 cause I wanna spend the rest on keyboards mouses etc
and make sure vsoc voltage doesn't go over 1.3v
I'll look for a pre built for you, give me a bit
Mk thanks, prebuilt might just be the best choice for me starting off and when I know more about pcs I’ll build one in the future
Pretty sure prebuilts are still rlly good and fast
Hopefully I can run all my games
Keep in mind it's targeting high refresh 1080p and I'll pick out a good monitor
And record
I’m so excited
Guess I’ll be purchasing tmrw instead of today
I just rllly rushed myself idk why
I needa buy a big desk as well
My mousepad is coming in tmrw

That monitor should look good no matter what you're playing
Yeah a decent IPS panel will do that. TN is for the frame chasers, IPS is for those that want it to look halfway decent.
https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gaming-PC-Infinity-8800-Pro-SE I'd do this build with these changes for a pre built
Ah
