All you really needed to do was enable PBO but if it's still boosting then maybe they fixed the issues with previous versions of that auto oc
With a bit of tuning and luck you could get it to stay at 5GHz more and peak at 5.1
how do i enable pbo
pbo is in the bios itself
AMD Overclocking menu under advanced CPU settings for MSI, other brands are similar
Ight
Ima compare my current settings
Cuz I get more fps after I changed some cod files
I get 220 now
Much better then. Sounds like it's a success.
Nice
Yea and use an alcohol above 90 percent
Would that be difficult to put together?
Finding parts an all for a reasonable price
I'm scared for summer
my temps are already like 85c when gaming
won't they get worse in summer
Uhhhh, not really
Your PC produces the heat and outside heat really doesn't effect temps
However like I said the heat that your PC produces may effect the heat of the room
My brother had a buddy who's PC literally was a hotbox
Nice in the Winter
But uhhhhh
summer will be interesting
Sleeping with it in the Summer ain't fun
I have my pc in another room so that won't affect me as much
better to wait so u don't just have a bare motherboard sitting out
(in my opinion)
but yeah I understand its tempting to start without everything
You can, just set the motherboard on top of your motherboard box or something so it's not gonna get damaged
Don't set up the GPU though
Wait for the case to come, then mount the motherboard and then mount the GPU
But putting the RAM, CPU, and CPU fan on the motherboard before the case comes should be fine
You can test everything outside of the case first to make sure it works, but I've always just waited for the case to arrive and accepted I'd have wasted a bunch of time if any parts were doa
Could easily mount CPU, ram, and any nvme ssds without the case if you want
what are you cleaning
Hey guys
'do yah think I should use xmp
I been thinking about it but since I stook to the 650w
I don't know if the psu will be able to hold it
Yes
The memory uses a negligible amount of power. Turning on XMP makes it go from about 8W to 10W, give or take.
Aight
Quick question since I'm in need of a new psu and won't be getting another 1000w Im thinking I can be safe with an 850w with my configuration with no oc on 12700K and prolly won't oc the 3080 and was wondering what psu is currently recommended at the lowest price cause I've seen $120-130usd
You'll be fine on a good 850W https://www.newegg.com/super-flower-leadex-iii-sf-850f14hg-850w/p/1HU-024C-00005
PSU prices are pretty ridiculous right now
Ok so that was the one I kept second guessing cause of the naming scheme but alright that's my target for new psu and yeah I noticed
Went up at the worst time when my suffered
That's an A tier unit even if it is a somewhat older model
And how is the Gigabyte B760 gaming x ax ddr4 in regards to anything to keep eye out for as that's the board I'm planning to get as well
Should be good but remember that DDR4 can hold back a 13th gen chip if you upgrade
Yeah, it makes a lot of weird noises whenever it detects some sort of error
I'm on 12th gen and won't upgrade from here won't have reason to go 13th gen
Yeah, like no HDD detected, system diagnostics complete, and other stuff
Yep
It made that noise because I fried the hdd I was trying to boot from
lol how
Got some sort of voltage regulator to get 5v out of the 12v (the PSU only has 12v outputs) and the knob that regulates tension got slightly moved and outputted like 6v
did you get a ssd like your name says
And the hdd didn't really like that
is it a oem psu
Sort of
I got a sas SSD inside the server but I can't get it to work till the hba itself starts working
Yeah, dell oem
probably why it fried
why
I told you, to get 5volt to make each hdd/SSD run
They require both 12v and 5v to work
the power supply doesn't give it?
Nope
The motherboard converts 5v and 3.3 for the (one) SATA ssd, hdd and nvme+ dvd
There was a header on the mb that had 5v but I didn't really trust it as I have to pull like 15w out of it, you never know what could happen, like fan headers that are made to output 1.5A max (usually)
seems like alot of work to get a hdd and a ssd to run
or is it like a server type of thing
Yeah, it's actually 4hdds and one SSD for now but I could always change the config
wow
thats alot
Yeah, I want it to be both a Nas and use it to host a small Minecraft server
Rn it has a total of 10.5TB of storage but ill have to see if it all works after I get the hba to work
This is what hot glue was made for, live and learn
I say run Linux instead of Windows. The driver is still in the Linux kernel, and it can do everything you want it to.
Hey should i buy this broken ailenware pc that has a ryzen 9 5900 and a 6800xt and 32gb of ram it just says it doesn't post but its a bid
its at 400 right now
seems like it has been dropped
Best case something shook loose and can be reattached, worst case it was running when it was dropped and PSU went POOF
Either way that would be a fun project for the right price to try to see what can be salvaged
yeah i was thinking tha to i wil see if i can get it but if its out of my budget i wont get it
At the very least the CPU and the memory should be ok
yeah i mean i got everything to test it out with
hopfully just gotta reseat something
GPU might have damage around the PCIe slot from shock
SSDs probably fine, HDD might be ded
its a 4tb ssd
You could drop a SSD from a 3 story building and as long as there's no physical damage it'll still run
Well you can get a 5900X for $300 used
32gb memory is $75 new
Used SSD maybe $150
I'd say those would be the things that are basically guaranteed to work unless there's obvious physical damage near them
So I'd bid that auction up to around $500
ok
If the GPU is fine and it's just the motherboard then you've got a nice profit
yeah i would have to find someone to see if its the cpu and test it out i dont got a am4 motherboard
CPUs are really hard to kill
It would need to have bent pins, which the socket is meant to protect
yeah thats what i was thinking
im thinking it could be cpu that camer out of socket
gpu*
That's possible, the PCI lock isn't exactly sturdy
Also maybe a power cable loosened
but i dont know if it did get dropped
it just kinda look like it
bt im looking at the gpu slot in the back and it doesent seemed to be moved
but top is damaged
this the back
I found the listing. It sure looks like it was dropped on the top, or something was dropped on it.
I'd consider the cooler a lost cause, looks like a radiator up there maybe
Not that Dell's 120mm AIO is worth keeping anyway
All in all I'd consider it a good candidate for a transplant.
Too bad there's no internal shots
Oh the shop resells amazon returns, makes sense. Maybe it was damaged in shipping!
hopefully no one find it and snags it before i do
wdym
I think that it's shipping damage, which would honestly be a best case scenario
same he has other listings like a 12600k and a 3070
a skytech one
i asked him
for pics of the inside
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, GeForce RTX 4080, NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
My crazy friend wants an all white build this is what I put up for him
Also don't mind the cpu cooler, he wants to see the numbers in it as well and it has to be white as well.... so I was only left with take away all my cash nzxt
3000$ was the mark so I pulled this
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, GeForce RTX 4080, NZXT H9 Flow ATX Mid Tower
For 3k you can do a full 4090 build...
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
$1770 for a white 4090
where?
In the list I just linked
$300 for an aio is insane, especially when the ls720 outperforms it at the same price. You can add in a small Lcd display for $60
The psu is just as good for half the price
link to the lcd pls
64gb of ram is useless for gaming, it's actually counter productive especially when it's 4x16
I'd come back and ask about the lcd tommorow, Pato, orange mushroom, or Felix could help you with that better than I could
Orange has one in his pc he did himself, the other two know how
Mmmm, I see... For the 64gb of ram it would have been for his content creation rather than gaming on that little part.
I'd get a 2x32 kit then, but what is his content creation?
I know that 64gb is not require
Editing videos and streaming.
32gb would be plenty then, imo it's really not worth the premium when he likely will never exceed 25gb usage
got ya
I streamed warzone with chrome, obs, and discord open and was fine on 16gb ram
damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
meanwhile me with only discord and r6 open consuming 21gb and 25 sometimes
:V
I've since gone to 32gb, and never seen over 23gb usage while streaming
Gah damn what kinda malware and bloatware you got running in the background
I do not know
haven't download anything outside of actual stuff
Can check task manager to see
from actual apps
A lot of apps like to run in the background
Most game launches like steam and epic, any softwares for peripherals normally do
If you hit the more details button, you can see what is using how much ram
and spotify on
Top left go back to the main page
Background processes, look through what's eating ram
28 firefox processes
And UBM using 8% in the background?!
Also another good point
You have UBM running constantly in the background
Also Norton is not a good anti virus, it's worse than windows defender
And consumes resources in the background
Buncha youtube windows will eat that memory yep
I was thinking about switching to a one from a Russian company
forgot their name
saw they where quite the good
The only one I recommend is malwarebytes
but ostracize by american politicians
really
Worse than avast iirc
:V
Kaspersky literally sends all your data to the Russian government
My dad used to pay for a license from them
That was the argument
I saw
I ended up having to reinstall windows from the viruses I got that it failed to block
mmm
Which is also partially my fault due to being a stupid kid
:v
But still, windows defender handled it fine after that
and people were talkin to me about l connect 3 being "bloatware" and here we are in 2023 with people downloading "anti virus" programs still
Looking to studying cybersecurity next semester, proceeds to get bombasted on which anti virus options are actually good and which are not
lol
Malwarebytes is great tho, and windows defender certainly does its job very well
I honestly just let Windows Defender handle my AV, plus adblock on everything, noscript on sites I don't trust
Imo not worth paying for an AV unless you have very important info on your computer
Like classified by the military or multi million dollar business access codes level important
I mean you still have the issue that no where in the internet your data is safe, in the end there's no other options besides eating it up sometimes.
Really looking forward on how ai will be use for all this processes and see if information will be actually protectable in the near future.
AI could revolutionize antivirus but it would also add so many security holes. It would need to be totally sandboxed.
And it's not like the recent "banning on Tiktok" legislation is only about banning tiktok
Not just tiktok but also other apps and programs owned/run by the Chinese gov
Governments only needed one thing and that citizens giving up on information protection, since the growing generations will probably have most of their info online in the incoming years it was only time before information became accessible from any place at any point, don't get me wrong, already is but it's not like they where going to search for it in the first place unless you was someone important, now is gonna be all there, important, unimportant etc etc.
Is the issue really the chinese gov, or that we can not controlled them ourselves?
Facebook does it, Twitter does it... We are just caring about it now because is a chinese company.
That is part of the issue, the other part is we don't know what they're using that data for
Fear of the unknown and all that
The data has been sold for the past years but now we can see people voting based on online legislations questions such as "is our government really protecting our privacy online" popping up etc, but have our information in the past being protected by the governments when there's literal algorithms tracking every step there is to make shopping online quote on quote more accessible.
Oh yeah no these old men have no idea how tech works
It was funny to watch. Poor CFO of TikTok legit hearing all the absurdity and all the bs that was coming to him and when he wanted to answer they would just say "no, we are going forward"
That's exactly the thing they don't know! but they still have the power to legislated and that's the issue.
Yep
and all your options is either voting for the older "best" or the older "bad" depending on your values and societal expectations....
The illusion of choice really
There's no choice in truth
almost like we never had an option but we believed the p drama on the tv
There's really no excuse for us to not have a direct democracy these days. Just abolish congress already smh.
jajajjaaj
Impossible besides the more participation the better just the wrong implementation I would say
At least the senate, if not all of congress
The senate is really unbalanced, how states like Rhode Island have the same power as states like California
I would argue that there could be fixes to the system rather than abolishing it completely because the later takes to much time to rebuild for a quote on quote better system, so rather than walk into certain uncertainty if you know what I mean, how about we try to fix the wheel and give it a chance...
Or at least try to solve the clear issues there is out there.
The trick to fixing the system is making sure they can't fix the system
Well the system is run by old heads, obviously the system cant change without new blood in there to make practical changes.
I only hope that as I get older I see people that represent me more, because studying to live in a decadent society doesn't seem like a dream lmao.
Well we'd better shift the topic at risk of becoming too political here. Even though it has been pretty neutral so far.
Yeh yeh understandable nice chat though!
Likewise
@tired isle That case looks like a prime candidate for a Lego GPU support, or something else homemade or recycled.
Yea I have been considering it, I was using a old medication bottle when I first got the GPU but I took it out and misplaced it lol
99% negative pressure?
(unless the rad fans are reverse flow models, but I don't think so)
Yea I kinda forgot about that lmao, when I was replacing my motherboard I had to take my aio out from the top and as a temp fix I kept the fans facing the same way
I honestly might fix it tonight as I was putting in an SSD when I took that picture and the sata cable I am using I am not fully confident in being in working condition as I had a few fail on me a few years ago. So if the sata cable is bad Ill just fix the fans while I am at it
Not even my bios sees the SSD so time to fix that and fans lmao
Thanks for reminding me, I have fixed them when I should have fixed them months ago lmao
Bet at least gpu temps drop a bit from some actual airflow, aha. Could add a 2nd full cable for gpu, butnot a huge deal
Next time I am messing with my cables I will add a second cable for it
Shockingly though I never really had any temp issues with that configuration
It's a good cooler
Turn to the side between using one of these two existing cases that are older, or buying a new case for my build
Trying to decide
Have a silver stone SG 13 with the front panel usb-c upgrade
The other one is a main gearshift that has some broken panel parts that would have to rig up. And it is very old-school and the fact that as fire wire 400 on the front panel. It is also based off of Silverstone Raven original case the RV 01.
I did think of that but then I forgot to apply some
- I'd probably prefer win server2012 as I'm more comfortable with windows environment, + I want to make the server accessible (or at least the folders) from other windows devices and I don't want to make things more complicated
there are drivers for that and if I'm more comfortable with one instead of the other I should go for win
That's fair but I should also point out there's tons of ways to host files for Windows users on Linux. I have a samba server on mine.
I could try installing both, and I choose which os to use at startup, I'll keep win10, install server 2012 and Linux or something similar
So a friend gave me a budget for a sub $400 itx PC just for printing out designs on to shirts and printing vinyl designs which she did on a Chromebook and I wanna see if this is a good start https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VPsRcb
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 4600G, Apex MI-008 Mini ITX Tower w/250 W Power Supply
Bleh, I can do better than that
Gimme a sec
Wait it's itx, ah well
Can still do something about it
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZxgdLs @formal girder Do this instead
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 4600G, Phanteks Eclipse P200A Performance Mini ITX Tower
That A520 is more expensive than a better B550
I doubt your friend needs 1tb for this use
The PSU is C tier, better than what came with the case you chose
I had it there just for headroom due to their software constantly updating
I'm also so used to blowing through 2tb of storage at a time so yeah lol
That's still plenty if they don't run games on it
Yeah they don't PC game at all
Yeah that's true
Hopefully soon when my PC is back up I'll be ready to play around with power of UE 5.2
And I'm gonna have to get a whole separate drive for those projects
I do want a bigger drive, but I don't have anymore space to add lol
@formal girder I'd do this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xW9qtn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 4600G, Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Desktop
Yeah not really much point paying for 3600mhz or a 670p or a better case also psu is similar perf so might as well spend less
What's that for?
@little osprey ^
Ah okay
When the GTX 980 TI was the best GPU what was the CPU?
a 4790 maybe
4790K is all I can think from the top of my head
so what was the lcd?
Technically you could argue up to a 6700k
no a conv i had last night
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Looking for a motherboard that can handle some simple overclocking
Perferably a Z690
Unless there's a B660M that works too
Only requirement is wifi
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Cooler is identical, just rgb and cheaper
Mobo doesn't come with wifi, will need a separate adapter
Hmmmmm
Cheapest with wifi is $171 or smthn like that, aside from the mitx asrock z690 that I would not go for
You can only oc on a z690 or z790
B660s don't allow it
So how would a wifi card work then?
@fossil cedar input on a wifi card plox?
Also would I be able to sync the CPU fan color with the case fan color?
Grab a random pcie ax200 card
TBH yeah you're right
My wifi is garbage
Ax200 is about as good as you can get anyways
Should be able to find a pcie card for like 30$
weird alternative, but GL.iNet is a company that makes portable routers. they’re about $40, have Ethernet, and they can also act as a WAP
What do the emojis under my pic mean?
If I had to guess it's probably a comment on how the fans aren't attached
you wanna bring air into the case. ur Aio pump a fans are blowing it out
thats it looks like
I would want fresh air to go into the pump
His is the bottom pic
of it want to push air into the case. youd t put the rad facing toward inside with the fans blowing air from the out
scratch that, i was lookin at a dif pic. i'm going back to bed
ahh id probably just get a built in one or anything with ax200 tbh
hey @upbeat bison where did you find that StarMax?
those things are so uncommon.
I've wanted one for a long time
iirc they use VGA for a mac compatible clone which during 68k days was kinda cool
I'm having top and bottom radiators. Just waiting one radiators to install the other 6 fans.
hello
my pc won't post
I have tried: resetting cmos, unplugging and replugging, switching the ram including running each of the individually in different slots, pressing the reset button on the case and trying my monitors one at a time. Also if I remove the gpu the same thing happens on the motherboard so it's not that
That would mean either the motherboard or cpu is faulty but the dram light comes on and not the cpu light
so I'm inclined to think my motherboard is broken
for context this pc is about a year old
the last thing I did on it was play hollow knight then hibernate it
Should've gone Asus(jk)
But, you should try and see if you can RMA it
I will literally buy a new motherboard today if i have to
idk what rma means give me a second to look it up
Basically warrenty it
it's 1.5 years old do u think it'll still be in warranty
Can't hurt to contact support and ask
Alright I will do that
They might need serial number and such
i don't have the box with me rn bc im in a dorm though
ok
sorry
this fricking sucks
Should be on the board
What board and CPU do you currently have?
Ahh
If you had to buy a new one what are your requirements for a new board? Number of USB slots, nvme slots, wifi, etc?
Budget too
Most motherboards have a guarantee some have 2 years guarantee
If yours is Msi I recommend talking with them
I haven’t done the process in any other company but the Msi process do require you to know specific information in the box of your motherboard
I went to the store and apparantly the warranty is 1 year on the mobo and not 2
i may be wrong though
I can't really afford to wait on this so if it's in warranty I'll send it back and then resell it or something
@potent portal any tips if I should manually oc my gpu to get a higher usage on 1080p?
1080p probably isn't even using the full GPU power
But you can max out the power and temp limits so it boosts more and call it good
Not using full usage means ocing gpu would do nothing/not much
Right, if the GPU isn't at 95%+ then you're CPU bound, or some other thing.
ig im cpu bound then
on multiplayer it uses 75-85%
and on battle royale only like 65-80
What cpu and gpu do you have
what game
mw2
ya
Mw2 is very cpu heavy as I said
Not really necessary
oc?
It still performs great, even if it is limiting you
You'll always be limited by something
If your game experience is good enough for your standards, don't bother wasting monry
Money
130 - 140 frames in battle royale 💀
In warzone 2?
yup
Doing a bit of PBO tuning could get you a few more frames
low settings
That's about right, that's a bit higher than I get with my 13600k and 3060 ti
that's weird
Mine for example has a 2 year msi warranty
Average FPS game moment
🫠
is there a way i can get a good pc under $2000
parts list please
Ok one minute. Or someone else can make one while I'm busy.
take all the time you need
Ok, that's $2000 USD, only including the PC and not peripherals? Do you want CPU overclocking support?
no, nothing too advanced
top tier is subjective. top tier would include a rtx 4090 and that leaves 0 for anything else lol
cheapest 4090 i can find right now is 1600. that leaves no meat on the bones for anything else. maybe a cheap cpu or cheap mobo. nothing to power it and nothing to put it in, no storage, no memory.
top tier to me is top of the line
Personally "top tier" includes the top 3
i have a higher end mid range pc i would say and i spent 2400 on it not including anything else. just basic components
i did pay like 200 for my case though so theres that
Well here's what I came up with https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WJ6M9r
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
Sometimes the case really is worth that. I got the Torrent myself. Full build in my "about me".
i spent a lot on things that look nice over financial practicality
I'm more of a function over form. There's a certain point where you won't get much more function out of it, and that's where I start spending extra on form.
im pushing well over 800 fps on some games and im limiting it on overwatch to 240 with g sync since i run everything on it at ultra or higher if the option is available to me. only pushing 80% load on my gpu and 3% on my cpu at 70c. gpu floats around 71 to 73 during active gameplay and not idle in the menu screen waiting for a match.
How good are laptop batteries now days? I can't seem to find anything on the one I'm looking at right now.
You could have a max capacity battery (99Wh) and still have terrible battery life
It's more about the other hardware and how you're using it
Nitro 5's has meh batteries
This is the one. And gaming mixed with 3d modeling mainly. ..
Laptop shopping is hard 😆
Also honestly, I think there's probably better laptops than that thing for that price
As is the case with every dGPU laptop
I meant capacity, but most laptops these days you can also just fully disable dgpu
They pretty much all have mux
Disable must help max out battery life? Never had a laptop with a Gpu so all new to me
Yep
Then enable when you use it
The only downside is that you have to restart every time you switch
Unless that laptop has g-sync ultra or something like that, which is another mux that can switch on the fly
Hmm so I'll watch for max.
When you say there are better out there in this price range. Which parts or brand are you meaning?
Overclocking is running your hardware higher speed than rated from factory
What is your pc's setup?
Something like gigabyte aorus, asus tuf 2022-2023 and legion 5/legion 5 pro
I wouldn't do any oc in that
Just enable pbo
Have you installed any OS on it?
If this is a new build you will need to install an OS
Make a boot media with another pc or laptop. You'll need a usb drive with at least 8 gigs of storage
Nope
The pc has no OS, and the bios couldn't do any of that stuff for you
over clocking also shortens the lifespan of your cpu and you're already asking how to install an operating system....
Not really, but if you're not sure don't think about overclocking yet anyway
The cpu already has automatic overclock tech inside, all you have yo do is enable it
Yep, that's the requirement to go forward
It's under cpu overclocking menu in the bios
i wouldn't mess with any settings like that if i were you
Should say something like boost overdrive
I forgot what the p stands for
Enabling pbo is completely safe lol
dude didnt even know how to get out of bios and that he needed an os...... i would stay away from doing anything extra if i were him
^
If he exits, it'll just get right back to the bios again
Yeah, and he has no way to install an os yet. That's why
am i the only one getting this or no? i cant be the only one seeing what has already been said am i
Can you buy from somewhere other than newegg?
Limiting yourself to one retail will limit your opportunity for deals
I can buy anywhere, just the main site iv been looking at, I didn't even think to check micro center 🤣
Ah TUF my beloved
Greatest laptop 2022
Ya man
CS2 300 fps

GYAT
Dyemm
Ya lol
The 2023 version is better, 2gb more vram, same cpu, thunderbolt 3
4060 stonk
15% uplift
new guy - "Also im stuck in bios settings what do i do
If i exit"
you - "Have you installed any OS on it? If this is a new build you will need to install an OS"
new guy - "How"
you - "Make a boot media with another pc or laptop. You'll need a usb drive with at least 8 gigs of storage"
new guy - "I cant do it on this pc by itself?"
and you're suggesting he go into advanced setting and oc his cpu? lol what?
@austere condor That build looks sick.
oh
Ye
thanks 😄
How much you gonna throw it on the market for?
probably $800-$900
nicee
This one seems a bit better?
https://www.microcenter.com/product/663680/asus-tuf-gaming-f17-173-laptop-computer-mecha-gray
That's a very nice one
But if it were me aim for a Ryzen 7000 version or Ryzen 6000 version of the TUF
You can use the eco mode on the laptop and have 10+ hours of battery life
VERY USEFUL WHEN IT NEEDS TO BE AN ACTUAL LAPTOP

The 13th gen ones are cool but the battery performance is eclipsed by new ryzen stuff
8GB
It would be best to create a windows install media on an 8gb usb stick and install windows fresh on the new PC. You can then transfer all files you need from the old PC to the new PC.
Ok, then just follow the first sentence.
will any boom arm work for my Razer Seiren V2 Pro mic?
Gonna be honest here, sorry if it's rude
But no, you can get something much better than that for the same price
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
This for quick reference
Can change the case and ram if you want that all black clean aesthetics and rgb
But stick to cheapest 3600mhz cl18 kit with rgb, no need for corsair or any of those overpriced crap
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K, Radeon RX 6950 XT, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
This is with case and ram that you might still like looks wise, since I'm assuming looks has to be included here
Looks definitely included
Only way i5 is better is because of 2 more cores than 7900x
but the frequency isn’t near that at all so how is it any better?
You'd want nvidia gpu then, gimme a sec
13700k could be worth then
All these stuff are gpu bound
Extra cores useful
Doesn't really demand much cpu but 13700k definitely useful
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
This is with 13700K and slightly cheaper psu
Oh also nvidia gpu
If you prefer the look, g360a is a better case that comes with 3 rgb fans
Imo it looks nicer, but personal preference
H5 flow is still a good enough case
Already ordered the flow lol
Huh.
Same price as my current list
@obsidian wigeon
Everything I want to do
» Gaming (Many titles I want to play I cannot list them all here)
» Rendering
» Artificial Intelligence
» Machine Learning
» 3D Modeling
Mmm, this will do well for your needs
I couldn't put it on my list but I'd like to get two SSDs
What's your budget anyway?
Just whatever
Okay, I'll just put the first ssd up to 2tb and see if you like it
I don't want to spend over $2,500 but I'd like to keep it under $2,000 for the pc itself
Alright, then I can do that
PC below 2k
I don't feel like changing anything other than adding storage
670P can offer similar performance
But sure, I can add speedier drive if you wish
670P is okay if it's cheaper
you can instead get solidigm for around $10 lower than sn770
Sure
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
Alright here it is
two ssds
Both 2TB
Good deal
There's not much reason to go 2 ssds to start these days considering 2tbs and some 4tbs are almost linearly priced or less than the same equivalent in multiple 1tbs
Ye
I was really saying I was gonna do 2, 1tb ssds
@fossil cedar what aio would you recommend?
Not really point in doing that anymore tbh
raid 0 for the meme tho
Ls720, liquid freezer ii, lian li galahd, evga clc, lt720
Anything EK
Couple others I'm forgetting probably
LS720 SE
I'd change a few things I'd do this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LfD8Dq
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Is the se cheaper/better i didn't see it listed on pcpp?
Ah yeah okay you where just mentioning as option got it
I already have the NZXT H5 Flow btw
I think the max front rad size is 280mm
Why that mobo tho? @fossil cedar
Ima bout to blow ur minds
🤯
Can you return it? It's not that great
Good motherboard, lots of usb and stuff, also has wifi and Bluetooth which is nice
Ur budget is 1750 ye?
It's airflow is meh
It's fine if you can't return but if you can return it you can do better
Thought it was 1800 but you could be right
2.5k max
2k for the pc alone
Ofc I can :p
I make sure I buy things that I can return even if I never will, just in case something happens to it or I want/need something different. Like right now.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Hvcc8r @gloomy agate
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700F, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
If you can return the case, swap it for the fractal focus 2 and you're under budget
So not the G360A?
G360A works but you won't be under budget with it
You can also use a peerless assassin cpu cooler but I imagine the cpu would get a bit hot
Might throttle a bit
Eh actually, 219w
It might be able to be handled on a dual tower
Why 128gb rams
Ai and modelling
Yeah
I’m gonna buy a psu from my friend
Which psu
Model pls
The model matters more than the wattage
Okay sure
Wattage and efficiency rating isn't enough info
Well ik he’s got quality parts
Yeah 3d printer psu almost went kaboom
Damn
Yeah better off
Hm
I’m not buying this all at once so y’all know
It’s gonna be over time
So I’m good with a little price difference between my budget and the price
It's not that
It's that for a spec this high you really want just a top shelf psu choice
O
Np
Pato I'll rebuttle u in a minute
I understand I want a good quality psu so my house stays intact
Ai doesn't really need ram they'll be able to accelerate with cuda which will be faster than cpu, modelling fair although i still feel 64gb would be plenty
Ye, as I said it's more a nice to have
64 should be more than enough
You can def use 128gb in modelling tho
Lemme clean it up
eh yeah fair enough
i’m good with 128 as long as it’s under/on budget
I just wanna make sure y’all can agree on one case because I’m new to building a PC and want to make sure I’ve got the right cooling solutions
If the G360A has better cooling then the H5 I’ll go ahead and get that
Price isn’t a huge issue to me, more or less getting a quality product with a good price point that’ll hold for years to come
If you have the time please DM me as I don’t get notifs from servers
When you finish up
DM's are closed but have a ping
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bjD8Dq
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
It's ironic
Eh okay fair
I wouldn't normally recommend a 7900x but the board cost for the ddr5 on 13700K makes this worth it for the maybe 5% loss
Okay
Otherwise it looks like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hN4CH2
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
Which is basically 2.5% more cash for 5% more perf and better modelling performance
Either way it's like, in ways that are plenty fast tho, so it's a matter of where you want to land on budget
What's the other 500 for anyway
Accessories ofc
I can get the other stuff through my dad
Well the monitor I can
He can get Lenovo discounts through his job
Take me through your thoughts, what kinda accessories
Cos like, a little trim on those I'd easily chuck that extra 50$ on the pc
Monitor I'd recommend with that is a 210$ 1440p 165hz
If that helps
Idk what lenovo goodness is comin tho
Oh ok
Lemme add a couple accessories on, you tell me what you think
»ASUS TUF Gaming VG27VH1B
»Mount-it! Full Motion Display Wall Mount (getting 2)
»NZXT Lift (Black)
»Corsair K70 RGB PRO
Ah sad the monitor I had in mind ended the sale

If you can cut down on the keyboard that’ll give you more for the monitor
Wrist rest is a must
$33 each
Yo what do you have
Ok I'm $4 under budget
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, NZXT H5 Flow ATX Mid Tower
The z15 is a pretty solid board.
Ah yeah I just did a recheck of reviews on the H5 @gloomy agate and it's a lot worse than I remember
Nvm, they jumped back up in price.
If you can return it for G360A or Focus 2 the get that, one sec I'll post another list
maybe something like the lancool 215?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZGCyY9 @gloomy agate
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Deepcool CG560 ATX Mid Tower
Cg560
Focus 2 doesn't like the 280 rad
But is ok cg560 is decent
bought the g360a
Alr 😂

Like this then https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G4bjd9
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Honestly
I'd save up for a keyboard rest
I’m gonna go the intel route you suggested before
Alr
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GrFdZw then get like a 75% keyboard rest
Part List - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Actually keychron sells them for that keyboard
They also have a black resin version
Glorious has one too, in the "compact" size, that's memory foam I think @gloomy agate
Just so you have a few options for what you think might be preferred or comfortable
Alr I think we're pretty much sorted now
Ima head to bed

Thank you for the help
Felix I heard that you know about lcd that gave computer info so people didn't have to buy super expensive aio just to see the numbers on the screen.
Ya
Is this any good
oh you can just buy like an 8" screen or whatever from amazon, something like this https://www.amazon.com/HMTECH-Raspberry-Pi-Monitor-Non-Touch/dp/B09MFNLRQQ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2OUSZDWZUQK3D&keywords=8"+lcd&qid=1679853471&sprefix=8+lcd%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-3
its decent but depends on the price if its good or not
Grab an old android/apple phone, then hook it up to the pc with a usb, then download superdisplay on both the phone and pc
Or do Pato's idea
76$
It’s Either it or a fsp non modular
if youre in the Us thats a bad price
I’m not
where?
Qatar
get the GT
Shipping would probably cost more than the cost itself
Yeah.
itd be fine
so hyper m won’t blow up or fry my parts right
I meant hexa
you mean hexa ?
ah
hexa should be fine
although i can only find hexa pro as a refrence
Alright, thank you
so hope its that
You can buy extension cables
It’s non modular
Extension cables are cables that you plug the psu cables into
You can hide the psu cables lol
Could you send a image?
Are you sure they plug into the cables
6+2 pin gpu and 4 pin cpu cables
which one is more visible
The gpu connector
thoughts on cosair h55 surround?
what about tuf h1
what about this bundle
I alsoo need a mouse

Have to say the hs80s are great
Razer sucks
Extremely comfortable and sound actually pretty good
Anything audio razer is bad

I have experience with hs60 and people with up to virtuoso
some friend of mine said the headset was okay and the mouse died after 8 months of use

Steelseries arctis nova 1 or nova 3 are decent choices also
Corsair looks and feels good but sound quality really doesn't hold up to the price
They have fairly neutral sound profile
Same and I've heard hs80s sound way better than virtuosos
With some bass boost and kinda recessed highs
You have to eq them but when done they sound decent
But anyways I'm still of the opinion everything Corsair audio is not worth the price
I mean, anything is better than my redmi airdots 😭
I have arctis 1 but I don't recc it due to some annoying quality issues
Like headband adhesive being meh
It will never come off but the center part comes loose
Lower part of the headband is tightly secured so it won't come out
I picked it up only because wireless version was on sale for $30
All the way down from the 110 msrp
Good price
Had to add like 10 bucks on top to solve the ear pain
Stock earpads are too thin
Got some thicker aftermarket ones and problem was solved
cloud ii is the smart choice then?
pulsefire haste is good too right?
mouse?
ye
ye it's decent
I'm using a generic Bluetooth hp
Light and got good sensor
Good switches too
I'm waiting on my G305 to ship myself
Just ordered it, I wanted wireless
wrong channel silly
No
did you build that dog
Yes
Question can I turn on my pc without a gpu I have a ryzen 5 5600
no
Ok
I mean you can turn it on, but you won't get any monitor output
@south cliff Did you end up winning that auction? Looks like it sold at $510
No
what’s the best 700 watt psu i should buy
??
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Fractal Design Pop Air ATX Mid Tower
and i wanted to get this one
how do you build a dog?
razer is such a terrible company that makes equally terrible products. 🤮
or this one
Just check the list, you really should get B or A tier PSUs
Dang, it was a risk but could have paid out. Oh well, at least you're no worse off than before.
well someone with l;ike an hour left bid like 900 so i just gave up but then when i looked at i later it sold for 510 proboably just a troll i wouldve gotten it if i knew i had it in the back of my mind but its whatever something else will pop up
And I sold a pc today for 420 so that’s good
Could be someone canceled the bid, or the seller did. You could in theory use a second account to game the system abusing that process.
Yeah that’s exactly what they probably did but I didn’t know if another one on his page pops up I will get it
And if you are browsing ebay or another place like it and come up on a good deal for something like this pls tell me
Dog parts
anyone know if an i911900 is ok with a asus b560-c mb
I mean it works
To bad their Naga Pro V2 is a really good mouse.
complete with optical switches
ok
Razer makes excellent mice
But terrible software to go with it
how do yall get such high quality for your pics?
It’s mostly lighting
If you ask demonmit he'll say something along the lines of "it's easy, just set the right post processing, filters, and angles"
Ill halft to set up a little area when im done with mine then
for lighing
Lighting*
You can get pretty nice shots with any decent phone from the past 6ish years
I could try and get this one but it will cost more https://www.ebay.com/itm/285203297791?hash=item426770f5ff:g:i40AAOSwzzNkE4Mc&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAwKsAVXDYLjJ0U1PzhoGjm2%2FMTda2S2SxeNMvEcwlyGqs6wf4BZw2aWR8X7z3NbkQ7dki%2FLpVjGd1K3XobywDNq0BSwWeX57idSBcaLjb2NhPJuh1dHD79eHSJlVOo95z%2FA7J7BjO9E7z2%2F89xi6AvP8lEy7LCk%2F0dB88pjj2qh9Fj7LuUzrBOlbwNDBunXFr3zIrgV%2Bfo24dP5RhB32hzgO4jOrdSA26RIewVaVOLTt5l0xSGl9HzlH7y3swWgp0tQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4apg5LkYQ
Same issue as the other one
that link

This one doesn't look like drop damage, and from that sag on the GPU... you'd have to go into that one assuming the mobo and/or GPU are dead again
I didn’t even notice it was sagging so much
is it even plugged in?
What are some good white rgb fans and what’s are some good fan headers that can support a lot
Is what plugged in? The computer?
no, the gpu...
I can return within 30 days
Lian Li ST fans
Bro those are like 100 dollers
Lol
p12 argb
a 5 pack of arctic p12s and a can of white spray paint
No? $52 for a 3 pack and it includes a hub
the diy factor is better tho
Actually thanks man
They look nice
Even better $40 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1644764-REG/lian_li_st120_3w_st120_high_static_pressure.html
Buy Lian Li ST120-3W ARGB 120mm PWM Fan (White, 3-Pack with Controller) featuring 3 x 120mm Fans, PWM Control, 800 to 1900 rpm Fan Speeds, 31 dBA Max Noise Level, 2.6mm H₂O Static Pressure, 69.17 CFM Airflow, Fluid Dynamic Bearings, Includes ARGB Controller, 16 x ARGB Lighting Effects, 9 x Lighting Speeds. Review Lian Li ST120
Instead of 12900K
You can get 13600K honestly
Also I think leadex gold iii is still on sale for 850w variant
I would get that to save some money
13600k WILL beat the 12900k in gaming
12900k is $365 and 13600k is $300
Oh shoot I though I meant 13700k
You're looking to pay less and gaining performance
Nah even 13600K outperforms the i9
No way I’m pretty sure the i9 12900k is better
Nope
And the i7 13700k is better than i9
No
i9 is just a name
Nope i7, i9, it's all marketing
750 is fine
It's a 4070ti
275W card
Pair that with 13600K and it's sufficient
Ok thanks
Yeah, 13600K is equal to 5800X3D, which is faster than 12900K anyway
It was the fastest gaming cpu
Once I saw the i5 13600k for 250
Not worth it tbh
