grounding is as simple as touching a brick wall or a metal fence
the flow will find its way to the ground
Alright.
finally moving to japan pal?
I never ground myself and never damaged something
So I wouldn't worry so much tbh
It came with my mic a while back. Perfect size for my M.2 drives.
Modern tech stuff are very resistant against static
^
This a good build? I've already got the case & 4 different 200mm fans, plus a 140mm rear. Planning on playing some COD, Horizon Zero Dawn 1 & 2, Predator: Hunting grounds, & also maybe a few large open world games.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/chP9mr
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6700 XT
shouldn't have any issues
there is a higher chance to snap them on two isntead of static discharge
going your way
What would be better on the list in your opinion.
Eh, it's meh
yeah put it in a box with foam
Would the peanut foam shells work?
If your talking to me, I said I've got a case.
any foam works, the point is to prevent damage from bumping around
ah okay
heck even clothes work
What would make this better in your opinion
as long as they are unpowered you shouldnt worry for the static
this suppose to be checked or non checked
I don't mind spending maybe a $100 more on a GPU, maybe a few more on a CPU
try it yourself
that falls into personal preference
i restarted my windows and it was checked so i think i didnt have it check before i installed
check or uncheck it only affects your personal experience
so, try it, if you dont like the way it behaves then uncheck it

Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F, Radeon RX 6750 XT
go for this
update bios on mobo and plop the cpu on
the board has flashback, so you can easily update its bios
Lmao to give an idea on how often I travel with a full sized PC.
I must've moved my PC in this box nearly 30-40 some times by now in this box.
Looks much worse in person then on picture.
luckily for me, i have all the boxes of my hardware nicely piled on top of my wardrobe
just in case
I do that for most of my stuff too. xD, I am among the few who would probably really benefit from a suitcase PC.
those will go to a big box and into the cargo bay if somehow i need to travel with them
a pelican pc 👀 hate the looks of those
but to each their own
hope you finally fulfill your goal of 13900k/4090 when you reach china pal 👍 rooting for you
I plan on settling in the area I am going to for about a year or two so I'd have enough time to get a lil workshop setup.
Thanks. I already have most of the stuff. Just missing CPU, Mobo, and ram.
as long as you secured the 4090, then everything else is easier to get
Found a z790 Aorus elite for cheaper than the z690 board I was going to get so the plan is to save up a bit and get that.
depending on how long you wait to get those parts i should consider am5 as well with one of those x3d cpus
Question how bad would it be if I put my PC on it's side during transport?
that depends on the amount of cushion inside the box
I'd benefit from the extra cores so I probs won't be getting those.
Around 6 layers of bubble wrap around the PC.
Will it beat the 13900ks? As I can get that for not much more so I planned to get that.
13900ks is a waste of money
we shall see after the reviews
thats why i said depending on how long you wait to get the rest of the parts 😛
True.
13900k was da beast months ago, these days the x3d ones are coming strong
Most likely I will end up sticking with Intel as I am a bit of an Intel CPU guy but who knows. Time will tell.
time will tell
pointless
<owns both
o_o
If amd 7950x3d can blow the 13900 out of the park without costing too much more board+CPU wise I will probs get that assuming my lt720 supports it.
it will support it
Oh so back to this, will 6 layers of bubble do the trick you think?
7950X3D will be $700 so it's already a premium
yeah, why not
Hmmm, so the same as the ks.
Then it really comes down to board and Mexico's pricing.
Decided to stay in Mexico for a while.
im thinking in getting the lt720 as well 😛 and a 2tb nvme this month
my storage is getting cramped D:
1tb nvme and 2tb hdd are not cutting it anymore
xD, 3tb barely cuts it for me anymore.
I am upgrading to 4.5tb once the new PC is ready.
well i just use this pc for entertainment, nothjing more
but the hdd is being slowly filled by my wife shadowplay shenanigans
Ahh okay. I have a lot of art, 3d, and video files which takes up most of my space.
From looks and in hand feel alone I definitely recommend it.
Feels solid, make sure you got clearance though, the mirror is huge!
yeah, temps here at ecuador are kinda.... hot
the ak620 is doing a pretty good job tho
if anything ill get it just because
not a problem, 5000XD
Was talking about on the Mobo but good to know.
Bloody hell I am finally almost finished packing all my tech.
There's about 100kg worth of tech I travel with.
Does anyone know of a aftermarket fan/cooler for a XFX Speedster QICK 6650xt? Not looking for a water cooler
Why? And no your only options are usually the one for the model
6660xt
Wanting to do a custom loop with the 6650xt I already have
Well I have to water cool the cpu
And figured it'd look neater cabling and hose wise to do a custom loop
You're gonna be way better off with a cpu aio tbh
I don't even think anyone makes water blocks for a 6600xt
And even if they did you'd be looking at at least 400$ for a loop
Vs like 130 for a good aio
Time to make my own waterblock 😎
Actually i lie ek has some 6600xts
But 0 6650xt
Oh nvm i also lie
It was just in the configger
Why
Why spend $400 liquid cooling the GPU when you can use that same money to buy a 6750 XT or 6800 used
Or consider that the 6650 XT goes for a little over $200, so that plus the $400 equals a used 6950 XT with a little left over
thats part of the hobby for a lot of people
it's like why i spend so much on 6-10 year old hardware instead of upgrading my daily
And this is a 1080p 60hz build
I don't need a 6800xt
Maybe I just want it to LOOK nice too...
🤷♂️
Just zip tie T30's to it
Legit it will be as good as a waterblock
In some cases better
And do that 12400f switch we talked about before
Hell instead of spending on water you could drop that dosh on a gigabyte G24F 2 and give the gpu some headroom it can afford to use
6650XT is perfectly fine for 1080p 144hz
G24F 2?
Nah
It's a really good screen for $150
I'll be using a 55" 1080p 60hz screen
I didn't buy it 😂
Also the input lag on that is probably terrible
Though, if I'm lucky I get a 55" LG 4K 69hz
Trust me, I know
But it's my works TV
Older TV's have terrible lag
165Hz OC’able to 180Hz
It sucked being at work for 24 hours a day, 5 days straight
That's why I built this pc
Dang even better
Made it bareable
Well I definitely would avoid water cooling it
Deshroud and cpu change will give you the full water experience without spending on water
Not to mention it'll save that motherboard's life

😂
I mean...for a low end lga-1151 board? It's not...BAD
For my CPU and use tho...
For a 9900K it's basically death if you even try to pass PL2 lmfao
9700k
The vrms won't explode....probably
Eh you said 9900k before
Well even still it's way over spec
55A stages are cheap and you don't sap the whole 55a out of them, that board is made for like a 65W cpu lol
Yeah it's made for a i3
I would like to ping out that my CPU voltage and everything is still stable
Probably not running at THE best it could, but stable nonetheless
That doesn't mean it'll live for long lol
what board lol
This is like near the equivalent of taking an underspec psu to a build lol
H370 asrock hdv iirc

Probably when it was relevent and had a 8400 in it or something
Mhm

Why would you buy such an old platform?
that platform isnt that old
If going very low end at least get an i3 10100 or something
it’s only from 2019 lol
its a question of value, not what generation it is
Because I'm reusing my old i7-9700k that I already had on hand
Such am old platform new*
?
I see
Buying new not used for such an old platform
get a board that'll let you OC honestly, if thats what you want. Shouldnt be hard to find a good used board for a good price. I got a M9F for 40 bucks recently lol
And I can't find any used
As pato is saying I would 100% buy a used board
That's not eBay
fr? nothing local?
Nope
sometimes i like to ask sellers on FB marketplace if theyd offer shipping anyway, if i find something good. it works half the time
thats how i got my m9f actually lmao

@limber oyster do you have an 8th gen cpu btw or are you stuck to the "9th gen boards" unless they have flashback?
yea, thats not really an issue
Yes, I have a pentium G5420

I need a micro atx
Neither of those work
Which honestly is my main issue
Finding a affordable micro-atx/mini-itx lga-1151 board
Why you need micro atx? Have matx case around or something ?
I see, what case is that btw?
BitFenix Prodigy M
And don't worry, I did flip the case around so the CPU aio radiator is at the top
This price ain't great but
https://www.ebay.com/itm/225264647566?epid=2306483892&hash=item3472d1bd8e
I was originally gonna get that
But it was a 4 week delivery wait, my ASRock was next day
I would still be waiting on the Asus board
Though I am definitely leaning am4...I would rather NOT cause that would mean wiping my only drive whereas with a new board I can just delete and reinstall drivers
why would you need to wipe your drive?
You don't need to wipe
Changing to am4 this late in the game not a lot of sense to it either tbh
12400f with a good lga1700 board has a better upgrade path
Unless you specifically go like, super budget 5600 combo
I was gonna do the 3d cache Ryzen
Pricing kinda suck on that plus you basically need a 360mm aio
Even X3D, you could do better overall with a 13600kf
Wouldn't say that's a great investment at this stage to buy a new 4 gen old board
Sell the board and cpu
Then get 12400F then a good b660m like a prime-A or aorus pro ax
You'll have an upgrade path with that
Even 13400F if you get one with a bios flash
13400F = 12600KF with a lower power profile
If I do go newer, I'd probably switch from my 1TB SSD to a 2TB nvme...
Well the back of my case is pretty cramped
I'm not sure if I could add a second sata
Eh no I meant a 1tb nvme
Ahh
I'd get 2 3 packs of deepcool fc120's instead for fans
At the stage when you're almost paying 80$ for 4
Didn't look at fan price, I agree
Well my radiator is 280mm and I only have the two bottom fan slots open which are 120mm
So, 2 3 packs is more of a waste
Especially if they're 120mm 3 packs
That's 4 fans not usable
There's be no way to install em tho?
Oh right probably wouldn't be holes for 240
Mhm
I have a Last Bios time of 17.1 seconds and that seems really slow for my system, is there any reason why this could be?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB, Lian Li LANCOOL 215 ATX Mid Tower
Heres current build
Last BIOS time depends on a million things, and mostly out of your control no matter what.
4 sticks of d5 probably not helping
Ah ok
Then I'm not sure, could try updating bios if you're not on the latest version
I have the CL30 ones not CL36 my bad lol
Only thing you could do is make sure Fast Boot is on, CSM disabled, and ensure that your Windows was installed in UEFI mode. Even then, its a few seconds of difference. It wont matter.
Had a bios update so did that, it didn’t feel like 17 seconds so it didn’t really matter to me
Although the dram light has been on for like 2-3 minutes and no display 😭
Still red after 10 minutes yikes
Do I cut power and retry or just wait?
The rgb on the ram is on so idk lol
And it all worked fine before
Upgrading to AM5 more then likely going to wait for 7950x3D cant figure out which ram and motherboard to pair any opinions
microcenter still has free ram deal
true but hate the way it looks lol
not sure if it applies with the upcoming 3d cache stuff tho
ya i wonder what theyll offer with those CPU's
I updated my bios but it says American Megatrends international
Shouldn't it say my MOBO manufacturer?
It's working all fine but I swear it was something else before
Probably ddr5 actually being a good bit slower to boot especially on some ryzen boards
They actually make most bios's and a lot of mobo manufacturers just licence and put a skin on it
I knew that but I swear it said something before
Just wanted to make sure I didn't wanna mess up my bios update lol
Yeah turning on fast boot or anything doesn't help much, still short so it doesn't matter lol
Nah if it was wrong it wouldn't have installed/boot
Ah fair enough
Without budget being an issue, what would you guys recommend as a 1440p/144-240hz monitor? Need at least 2 hdmi 2.1
M27q m27q-p m27q-x x27q x32 m32q g32q g27q
Yeah, I looked at the q-x but I think it only has hdmi 2.0
(Asking for a friend, I’ve got the m27q-p)
Why's it need 2.1?
Why not just use dp 1.4 I think it is
Can output 240hz 1440p or 4k 144hz
Hmm I dunno I think he may have been confused & thought you couldn’t do 240hz over DP
I'm pretty sure you can, otherwise there'd be no point for the m27q-x to exist
dp 2.1 doing 1440p 500hz: am i a joke to you?
1440p 500hz with no DSC, 10-bit color, and HDR*
I like your funny words magic man
I dont know enough about monitors to know what most of that is other than it being very impressive lol
PlayStation, pc, I believe a capture card too
dsc = display stream compression
Ah
10-bit color just means what it means
10-bit color and hdr I know well enough
yeah
What's 1440p though
Gah damn
Jesus
so m27q still takes the spot as king? Over anything else, no budget in mind?
He’s looking at an lg oled right now
i tried tarkov at 20K and ran out of vram
Like $1000 lmao
Id take a $450-500 m27q-x over a $450-500 1440p 165hz monitor with slightly better specs than the m27q-p
If he's looking at spending that much on a monitor, m32u
Depending on gpu ofc
He’s got a 4090
But if he has 1k for a monitor I'm assuming he can afford a high end gpu
Def either m27q-x or m32u imo then
Ez answer more than 1 fps is silly marketing how could you possibly see more than 1 fps duh
the human eye can only see 1 fpm
Eggs actly
Cool, thanks fellas
1fps is 60fpm that's loads
wait we need a fancy marketing name
ah yes
games certified to run at 16K 60 FPM receive the new "Radeon TruMotion" certification
smh laughs in 4k 1000hz 50 inch screen
Radeon TruMotion ProMax Gen 1.5 2x
So I didn't realize getting a more powerful gpu would heat up my system so much. Any recommendations for feeding more fresh air to my flu or taking the hot air away from it?
Yeah I can remove the DVD drive and put a 120 there
I mean dumber question, can I just put an intake fan under the gpu drawing in air from the bottom pcie slots?
it would make a huge clash in airflow
Yeah I see where you're coming from. I kinda wish I got a case which got air from the bottom to feed to the gpu
Out of curiosity what's the best board/CPU combo a person can get for $400?
Depends on the country where you live and what you have access to in terms of online retailers
For example, micro center has this promo going on now, but if you don't have a physical brick and mortar location near you you're kinda out of luck
Amazon.
Just curious. Kinda bored since I am at the airport waiting to board the plane.
including ram and cooler too ?
Just CPU and board
$260ish for 12600k+mobo at mc is pretty nuts also. Of course mc is irrelevant for me so 12400 setup runs pretty well for now. FS140 lets it idle passively. 🤣
i mean for 25 over there would be this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DPWjDq but otherwise this i guess https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZB8FLs
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F
I would try making the top right fan an intake, maybe move it to the front where the DVD drive is as well
"$189.99 value" is completely wrong at this point lol, you can get similar sticks with expo and all for $125.
Oh I don't know how much off it actually is, just saying "free ram, probably worth looking at least"
Must just be quoting prices outside the US and converting to usd
Yeah free RAM is free RAM I'm just laughing at the price
Yeah bit ridiculous
reminds me of people using a random newegg/amazon third party seller to price their used 6 year old graphics card
blower GTX 1080 from a chain smoker's home, mined on at full voltage for 5 years, 1 fan is broken
$649 shipped ($899 on newegg), no lowballers I know what I have
Usually from a store they control so they can effectively set the price where they want

Can't charge me fees if nothing sells right?
Bloody hell that's obnoxious.
If You're Not Interested In Buying Don't Reply To My Thread.
ill trade u 2 x79 bordsd
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/H4BWqm good build?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
This would save you $10 on the power supply https://pcpartpicker.com/product/n34BD3/enermax-revolution-df-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-erf650awt
use those $10 savings to invest in 32gb silicon power gaming ram
Or the extra $10 on a HP X27Q monitor
take the cooler out and use the stock cooler then get the x27q
There ya go. Stock is a tad loud but should keep it cool in that case.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
@dim reef
just stick with stock. The 5600 cooler will do you just fine for now
thanks
I mean the mech card will be loud anyway
thats the ram theyre talking about
nothing the stock cooler wouldn't overpower
There's a good chance the memory could overclock to 3600c18 too
if you can afford 10 more get this @dim reef https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8HBG3C/asrock-radeon-rx-6700-xt-12-gb-challenger-d-video-card-rx6700xt-cld-12g
better cooler
ah stepping away from the mech
oh shoot they’re back in stock?
idk lemme check
seems so on my ends
Yep with 2 free games
yess
nice
yeah back in stock
they were going for $430 for a bit
itll eat some time
Dead Island yeah it's a novelty game but Callisto Protocol is downright mediocre
I really shouldnt be talking about whats good or not
(which is a compliment given the state of new games)
For god sake im playing stalcraft after operator drewski played it once
so my taste in game is the same in my taste on food during covid
nonexistent
God I hated that. I lost 20 lbs because I just didn't want to eat.
yikes. all covid did to me was make me stuck in bed for 2 days and i had to miss 2 weeks of college and work
I had symptoms for about 3 weeks, negative test after 4
Loss of taste lasted 7 weeks though
and then once youre better did your legs feel like absolute twigs when you stood up?
mine did when i lost weight with covid
Yeah felt really weak
i was 5'9" 115lbs (yes i know super super light) when i got covid in 2020. 10 lbs for me was a ton lol
i remember being 105 and being like wtffffff
That's 9% of your body weight so yeah pretty big deal
For me COVID gave me really bad headaches and nausea.
Question for y'all. Since I'm going from i7-9700k and a h370m board, should I switch out my ID-cooling aio for something better?
its working as intended?
if its working as intended then i see no point in replacing it
It's just a cheap off brand
So far
But it's a 65w CPU vs a 125
I do plan to swap out the single 120mm fan that came with the case for P12 PST fans. And debating getting P14 PSTs or swapping the 280 aio for a 240 P14 pst aio
280 to 240 is a downgrade
p14s, even if you somehow manage to tie them to a 240 rad, will work below optimal cause the additional size and airflow will be outside the fin array of the rad anyway
if your id cooling aio is a 280 and its working well, then i should stick to the id cooling one
Ok
you can swap the fans to p14s if you like
Cause I was gonna sell the current board, CPU, and aio as a combo deal to fund the new stuff
well, if thats the case then go ahead, and get a deepcool ls/lt 520, EK or liquid freezer 2
for the 12400f? nah the slim fan idea will work if you want that
12600k you would prolly want a full function aio tho
or a good dual tower
yee, was looking at 12600K
and an alphacool eisbear since i have 6 alphacool fans laying around
my main build im running alphacool on my CPU and GPU as well
im just a fan that they build em with maintenance and expansion in mind.
you can disassemble them, flush the pump/block, and refill w/o destroying anything nor voiding warrenty
are the barracuda drives still high fail rate?
finding my buddy a secondary drive and was looking between western digital and barracuda.
he currently has a barracuda.
if you have any other recommendations let me know. he is looking for a high capacity hard drive.
669 final offer
Id do this for 3$ more
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JQBYFg
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 ATX Mid Tower
Or the asrock model for 10 more if you can afford
um it just went up to $450 again
Sales sadly don't last long. Best move is usually to get a list prepared when you're ready to buy.
^
alr
ok so i’m planning to build just my pc by the end of summer and planning to get a desk and monitor by late may mid june what would you recommend i do
come back the day you are going to buy
Best idea usually is to buy all the parts at the same time, for a couple reasons. First being that prices over time are on a downward trend so overall it'll probably be cheaper by the end of Summer. Second, buying everything at the same time means you can build it and see if anything needs to be replaced while you're still in the return window.
so should i buy everything late summer then?
Yep. That way you avoid problems getting replacement parts just in case mainly.
Once you've got the money ready pop back in and we'll get a new list set up with current deals.
alr be back in 6 months then lol
stop lowballing me, $5 take it or leave it
You drive a hard bargain but I'll take it
Anyone know what size monitors I could fit inside the torrent on it's side panel using double sided tape without interfering with things like cables or GPU?
Anyone have chair recommendations?
Have a crappy old office chair right now but I've heard conflicting advice about "gaming" chairs
gaming chairs are just bad, get yourself a proper office chair
chair recommendations? chairs falls into furniture, you should visit a furniture store and test them yourself. Chairs are more of a personal preference thing
Well crap
It's been a tough time lately
so the original plan is toast
but I still need a PC
Found a potential one, "like new" condition (so hopefully not beat to death)
Nzxt s340
MSI A320-M Grenade
Ryzen 5 1600 + Wraith Prism RGB cooler
16GB Hyperx Predator DDR4 3200Mhz
256 SSD + 500GB HDD
Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 8GB
Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650W
164 000 Ft
Yay or nay?
The main issue is that it's an old mobo and I'm pretty sure Ryzen 5000 isn't supported by the chipset
So not great upgrade path
How would I make this a little cheaper, maybe a bit better, & more compatible? I've already got a case. Do not need one on the list.
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Radeon RX 6750 XT
do you need a case?
No
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F, Radeon RX 6800
I said I've already got one
13400f is enough for a 4080 at 1440p, don't need the 13600k
and the cooler isn't enough for a 13600k anyways, would want an ag620 if you want the 13600k
13400f is the 12600k with a different name
Ah
just no ocing
Hello
My computer is not showing any wifi networks
I have a AC1300 Wirless dual band PCl express adapter
How could I get the needed drivers
Which adapter exactly?
If it's the one that came with the motherboard, which motherboard?
Can I get permission to send a picture
Thanks
I found a yt video
Basically I downloaded the wrong driver
It kept saying my driver was working and updated
It was but it was the wrong one
I deleted it and downloaded the right one
No thanks to my prick brother
He gave me this computer
It might have been the driver for V1 but it's most likely you got a V2
And I asked him how to fix it and the prick refused
I downloaded the v1 it worked
The wrong deivers was the one that came with my computer
Already
@potent portal something weird is happening with my 2nd monitor
when I click or do anything on it
it kind of lags and these weird green lines show up in places
I'm taking files from a hard river
And downloading them
And it'd saying download speed 0 bytes ?
I tested my internet
And it's 140 mb /s
@cyan ravine Im getting some terrible stutters randomly on elden ring when Im playing
my temps are perfectly fine
also when I alt tab and tab back into some games they dip in performance
just some games not all
only program I have open besides elden ring is chrome watching youtube
Sounds like a DDU is in order.
no
I've already done it
just the other day when switching my new gpu in
reinstalled drivers and I have my game on windowed borderless I figure that's probably the reason why
Hm, that shouldn't be the reason unless the drivers were the issue.
I myself run windowed borderless in every game I can
weird how you've never had that happen on windowed borderless
I've had it on a lot of games in the past
but that was a minute ago'
either way my 2nd monitor wouldn't do what it did cause the borderless I just meant the stutters
the drivers fixed it tho
before they were even done installing it fixed my 2nd monitor
Never had that issue and I have 5 monitors.
I also DDU any time I start experiencing even the slightest weirdness though.
Don't wanna waste time troubleshooting when in most cases it's just the drivers
I ddu before every new driver too.
knocks down any issues that could arise from installing drivers on top of drivers.
literally takes minutes so I don't see any reason not to.
ah yes boot into safe mode ddu then restart outa safe mode ;\
Which takes almost no time at all?
yes
that or just install the drivers normally
extra minute probs atmost
hdd only users crying everytime they have to ddu
I have had issues before when installing new drivers before ddu.. so I'll just continue to ddu before drivers install.. I mean it takes minutes so I'm not sure why you are so against it.
Nooooooooo!!
I'm not offended, it just seemed like you were pushing not dduing every time
I said "that or just install drivers normally"

you took it as me basically insulting ddu smh
you thought I was implying "or you could just install drivers like a normal person" when I was really just saying you could just install drivers or ddu either way works
If that's what you think, by all means.
bruh
he is not a normal person
how you gonna react the way you did and then brush it off ;\
bruh. Don't even start with me.
lmao
Not tuesday... just a couple days more
I look forward to it ❤️
These intel deals are really starting to piss me off 💀

Hey, I need help choosing ram,
I have a
5800x3d
4070ti
ROG Strix B550F
3200mhz or higher is preferred
The amd website says the 5800x3d only supports 3200mhz is that true?
AMD likes faster ram. so that is the recommended base
Would 3600 be a good choice
yes
anything 3200 and up is fantastic
im running gskill tridentz 3200
sorry 3600
i also have a B550 Unify
from what i have heard its not bad... google best ram for AMD cpus
G skill is in the list among a few other brands
your board supports up to about 4400MHz of DDR4
I'm going for a white rgb kit so it kinda limits my options a bit
That's only the base jedec specification. 3600 is a great choice. The 5800X3D doesn't care much about memory latency thanks to it's massive cache so you can save some and get 3600c18 or spend a bit more on 3600c16.
I'm thinking 3600 mhz c18 corsair Vengeance
It's important to note that while a motherboard might support higher, if you go above 3800 then there's either going to be a latency penalty due to the desync in fclk or you'll get errors.
Corsair is meh at best
My recommendation https://www.newegg.com/oloy-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820821371
Ddr4 is so cheap now wtf lol
So, recently I was told here and pretty much everywhere I asked AM5 takes at least 30 secs to POST. That is not true. My new build POSTs in the same time any other healthy system would: a few seconds. Just putting that out there
it's not always consistent with different boards
and most of the times a bios update could have already come out with a fix for long memory training time before POST
That was an early issue with the new platform. Most people never saw it at all.
^
Whenever there is a better product in the market the old product tends to lose a lot of value.
The 5800x3xd does not scale like the other ryzen cpus with faster ram
Fal already said that lol
Hey would someone be willing to help me with something? My PC isn't posting video anymore for some reason. It's been working fine for a while. Everything in the tower turns on but I'm not getting any lights to my mouse or keyboard and no video at all. Tried HDMI and DPI both on my monitor and my TV
Happy Sunday fellow techies

Nvm...I took my RAM out and put it back in and now I have video...but like...idk why. Lol
I'm sure the fclk would matter just not as much cuz huge cache
Not really
It's like, within 1-2% iirc between a 3200c16 kit and a 3800 c14 kit
ah fair
Does anyone know any good Lian li O11 XL gpu mounts? The one from Lian li looks too chunky. I plan on getting the RTX 4090 if that helps
Hey, I built the pc and all, but the only things that doesn't come on is the my gpu fans and they're is no signal going to the monitor got any suggestions?
Here is the specs
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6800, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Power is plugged into the GPU right? Monitor plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard?
@potent portal wanna vc rq about this?
I can't VC I'm at work
ah alr then
well rn nothing special will happen, i mean by cold boot i meant a boot after hours of being off
naturally a restart would xause nothing here so i cant do much
i did learn i damn well need yo clean the fan and get the unnecessary cables out
Yep regular cleaning is always recommended. Cable management can keep fans from hitting cables too.
I had nothing to manage the cables with
and they were all attached to the same power supply unfortunately
didnt feel like dealing with that
so it was already a good thing to take the damn dvd drive out
because that space is being reused now i guess
cucked the physical power button but the thing it actually presses is still fine so I just have to shove into the hole it used to reside in
and yes i am keeping sata cables for externals when I need them
i doubt ill need any though
since i have no hard drive on me
only one ssd (already being used)
you can always manage cables
even in cases with no cable management options
i've taped cables out of the way of fans before lol
see the EPS power taped to the power supply?
and excess non-modular cables tied into the dvd drive bay
it's not pretty but no cables are ever going to touch fans
Yeah I used to shove all my excess cables into the floppy bay and secure it with twist ties, there's always options
I think this is really good mid range build but I am open to suggestions https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J2LNhk
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Right, that's $30 saved with no loss of performance
+deals you can find... I believe you could find a 5600x for cheaper with the deals on some places right now
Then do so, whichever is cheaper because they're identical at everything except production loads which you shouldn't be doing on a 6 core anyway
this is a friend build
He is finding in Colombia where he's from the 5600x more accessible than the 5600
I only helped him with the case, ssd, power supply and ram
I am so saddened that I can not do my own build in pc part picker anymore
because ddr5 is not update in that place at least for now.
What do you guys think of my bud’s specs he chose for his future PC
Please don't do that, 2200$ for a PC with a 3050 is a scam, even if it's cad it's still basically a scam
That’s what I was saying but he wanted another person’s opinion
Even if you have to go prebuilt, please don't grab that, you can get way better deals
What would you recommend?
USD
I asked him abt building it and I’m waiting on a response
When he responds I’ll @ you
It's just like this is cheaper and gets you a 4070ti
https://www.newegg.com/skytech-st-chronos-0622-b-ne/p/3D5-000Z-000X9
And that's not that good of a deal
for 2200 you could get a top of the line pc
forget 3050 you could fit a 4080 or xtx in that
Ah yeah I’ve been telling him prebuilts are not good but idk I’m waiting on a reply still so
worth building from scratch if it means the PC is 4-5x faster
Exactly
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, In Win BK623.BH300TB3 MicroATX Mini Tower w/300 W Power Supply
what do yall think of this as a good build for a business center at a hotel?
we have a lenovo all in one pc rn, but its very cheap and barely runs windows 10 at all
i got my backup pc up and running, even audio
you don't need 5600g for that
What’s the point in getting a case that comes with a PSU and a PSU on your own?
an i3 12100 should do
hm ok 5600g is cheaper than 12100
that's funny but the list still needs optimizations anyway
it comes with one?
ahh didnt see that
ya
also yes, the 5600G is cheaper than any quad core rn.
and m.2 for boot speed and such
plus the amd igpu is beter than intels
970 evo plus tho 😰
so?
Better than mine 😪
im a fan of samsung and wd black
my personal rig has 6 wd black SN850X
mistapped, big fingers
And your WD black drives save a whopping half a second load time on a 10 second load in games
LOL
obviously you never played fallout 4 with 200 mods
I have and I do
even with a 850x its a 5 minute load time
That has little to do with the drives and more to do with the system and GPU memory
^
Yeah and if you're loading 20gb of textures it has to figure out how to fit that into 10/12gb
Part List - Intel Core i3-10100, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
someone else can probably do better
but this is what i put up
cheap office pc pretty much
i need a disk reader/writer tho
and boss stated almost to no rgb if possible
but its fine otherwise
try explaining that to a boss who doesnt know what task manager is
it's easy tho, just show the pics
they just dont want any lights
but okay, imma get non led one
but, like i said, if it was a personal use office pc your list would be perfect
no lights, and needs space for a optical drive
mx330 has space for optical drives
i saw
Part List - Intel Core i3-10100, Cougar MX330-X ATX Mid Tower
alright here it is
Part List - Intel Core i3-10100, Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower
?
monitor and everything included as well
is bluray gonna be used at all?
i don't think a hotel pc is gonna need bluray
Part List - Intel Core i3-10100, Cougar MX330-X ATX Mid Tower
just do something like this
an a tier 650w psu is overkill for what it is
the whole system will consume less than 100w
Figured going a fully modular PSU would be convenient.
Rather than have a mess of not needed PSU cables, just plug in exactly what we need
ah, a fellow FO4 modder
cultured individual.
depending on what mods you use...
post your mod list right now i DARE you.

2:35am rn here
dang what kind of job
non modular psus can also just be cable managed
it's just a waste of money for a simple office pc
zip tie all the cables not used and you're good
Hey I have a troubleshooting question.
Recently I helped my cousin upgrade from an older Intel processor to a ryzen 5 5700g.
Sometimes when booting windows now it crashes on login
Specifically when it gets turned off by holding the power button or when turning off the psu it crashes on log in
Did you uninstall the old chipset drivers and install the new chipset drivers OR reinstall windows after the cpu change?
Also for the moment try sfc and dism in this bat file, under the fixes section
?bat
Link to a general windows fixes and scans by Risen
https://github.com/Ryzen5950XT/Windows-stuff/releases/download/Windows-utilities-and-fixes-batch-file/Win.Utils.Fixes.Latest.launcher.bat
I was going to try a fresh windows install when I get off work
But before that we just plugged back in the old data drives and let it run
I did a windows reset from the boot drive, but not a full clean reinstall and I haven't done anything with DDU
ddu is just graphics related so very unlikely to be the case
I don't think it's the psu because power and fans still run when it crashes
cant find loki psu anywhere huh
@stoic island so my friend that had the really bad PC prebuilt finally got back to me and said he’s does not want to build it under any circumstance
I could actually invite him to this server if that would be better
time to find a half decent prebuilt then
Budget and country?
send them this to start with ig
https://www.newegg.com/abs-ta139kf490w-tempest-aqua/p/N82E16883360362
iirc 2000$ us
Cyberpower has had the best prices recently
4070 ti builds around 1700 and under, whereas cheapest abs one I've seen is around 2k
I'd make a build but I work in 5min and cyberpower mobile site is annoying
It's just that they had a 2200$ nzxt prebuilt with a 3050 to start with, abs 2000$ prebuilt with 4070ti is a huge step up to start with, prob better deals around though

Our review of the Fractal North looks at build quality, thermal performance, cable management, and features of the new Fractal case. The Fractal North follows-up Fractal's Pop Air, which we liked, and its Torrent, which we recommended as the best case when it launched. The co...
the black version of the case w/ the walnut looks pretty nice
I've now got the case & CPU. Anyone got anything to edit to make this a better or a little cheaper but just as good list?
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6750 XT
Especially with the mobo, cpu cooler, PSU, & etc.
Switch to this PSU, same A tier quality https://pcpartpicker.com/product/n34BD3/enermax-revolution-df-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-erf650awt
Could use the savings to upgrade the cooler to the AG500 argb
6 heat pipes instead of 4, would go a long way on that CPU
Here's what I'd go with, saves a few bucks with some parts being better https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xqYjVw
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6750 XT
Would the top one be any good?
It's good but the AG500 is better
Alr
Is that ssd just as good as the one I picked out?
Actually, that was the original one that I was going with but then I kinda change some things to test out
The SP A60 is fine as a gaming drive
There's not a lot of point getting a SN770 for gaming, you save maybe half a second load time
In compatibility it says:
- The ASRock Z690 Steel Legend WiFi 6E ATX LGA1700 Motherboard has an additional 8-pin EPS power connector but the Enermax Revolution D.F. 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not have any available.
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Thermaltake Core V71 TG ATX Full Tower
Is that fine?
That's fine, the extra connector is only for extreme overclocking
A single EPS 8 pin is rated for 300W of power
Alr, then I'll go with that then.
Any good GPU suggestions that go well with the i5 12600k, under $500.
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Thermaltake Core V71 TG ATX Full Tower
You could bump it up to a 6800 (non-XT)
Games: Cyberpunk, Modern Warfare, some COD, Battlefield, Eve Online, possibly Minecraft, Horizon Zero Dawn, & etc.
Programs: Clip Studio, Visual Studio Code, Blender, & etc.
Trying to game 1080 FHD, 60 - 120fps 144h.
K
Do you already own the monitor?
A lot of people suggest me this or the 6800
No, not yet.
I've got a few picked out as preference though
Mainly from others that suggested them to me
go for a 1440 instead
HP X27Q is a good price right now
I'd check out the x27q
Alr, since u both said it lol
$210 1440p 165hz IPS
Nice
Oh also
The 13400f is basically a renamed 12600k, if you don't plan to do any cpu overclocking
And is cheaper
Also runs cooler
Not with that memory though
Uh that's kinda too late
12600k you can up the SA voltage for the memory but not 13400
Max 13th gen non-k can do is 3466 since SA is locked to 1V
So no better, haha
At least not without going into gear 2 which is garbage
Though imo 13400f with with 3200c16 overall would be like $90 cheaper, so more worth it than 12600k with 3600c16
Even if it is a lil worse
They already own the cpu though, so whatever
Or get a kit of 32gb 3200c14 and bump it to 3466
nyoooom
Yes that's b-die HP memory
Wonder if cl14 on my rev E would take under 1.4v-ish?
CAS sure but you're not getting the other main timings that low on rev e
Well, some of them will
Not rly worth the extra cost tho for most people
I know it's just fun to point out this cursed kit of HP memory
lol
I know rev e isn't doing flat timings, haha
I still haven't oced my Rev e
13600k with a 3060 ti at 1440p, dont need the extra perf
If I ever get back to timespy I might
Yeah you won't get as much gains at 1440p
Still could be worth a few frames in some games
Lows especially
Yeah, actually considering I play val semi competitively might be worth to improve the lows
But i really don't feel like getting any more gray hairs just to get a lil bit better lows
HP hardware is cursed. do not buy it
just dealing with their enterprise hardware is already enough pain
No it's not. And I'm not just saying that because my HP home server will explode if I say it's bad.
I haven't gotten the jet engine all the way up yet thankfully but that cooler is LOUD
Now that I've said that I'm at risk of a bearing blowing out next time I transcode a video file...
forgive me hp
which system are you running lol
I often forget Fal indulges in the same weird stuff Far likes
Is this a good paste?
https://www.newegg.com/arctic-cooling-ac-mx4/p/2MB-000S-00016
Yes
Hell no it won't, not for a good 3-4 years
By that time I'll be upgrading because AM6 came out with DDR6
U saying yes to me?
Imagine using AM5 for even one minute
Yes
Alr
MX4 is great budget paste, the best ones cost 3x as much for maybe 2-4 degrees difference
Oh cool. I'll get that one since it's the cheapest & got a good amount of reviews.
could windows crashing to a black screen (no error message) but power still running be an issue with the ssd?
Probably a curupted file or something
fresh install of windows
W
Try swapping out your ram
it only fails when i unplug the power supply, or hold down the power button
sounds like corrupted os
Is 90 degrees max and stays around 82-87 on my 12600k and pcore at 5hz and e core at 4ghz and voltage at 1.340 good? On cinibnch r23
looks totally fine
uV/downlock or not run cinebench.
or adjust fan curve
trade off more noise for lower temps
but it's fine really
cinebench isn't a game
Yeah true I had my fans speeds at max
I ran another application but forgot what it was called but it was supposed to be better than cinebench according to a ltt thing
Not an actual stresstest, but it's great as a benchmark having a score as opposed to something like Prime95.
Sounds right about where mine is at 5.3 p core 4.1 e core when running cinebench with a Galahad 360 AIO. Totally fine.
me when i run prime95 after increasing mesh from 3ghz to 3.1ghz
fivr speaks to me when i sleep at night
Anyone know how much this thing costs in the US?
I don't see it on my pc partpicker for some reason
It's not listed on any of the major retailers
That looks like the absolute most basic board I've seen in a long time too, even the DS3H has better features
It helps intels case with much lower barrier to entry immensely when cheapest amd board is 160$ and is ddr5 only
Right... but I still wouldn't want to put more than a pentium on there
I am hoping it costs like 80 bucks then I finally could think of a cpu upgrade
An upgrade from what?
didnt even know raptor had ddr4 specific boards anymore
