@fossil cedar
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars, congratulations, you’ve won Mod of the Year
W
super flower leadex III bronze good psu?
Depends on price
Pretty sure that's B tier iirc, but I could be wrong
The gold is the A tier one
I'd check, but school internet has the site blocked for some reason, and my data connection isn't good enough to load the site
Gonna wait prob another month or so, but thinking about buying 7900xtx (hopefully by whatever point I theoretically buy it all the big bugs would be squashed and it’d be a bit easier to get). 850w PSU enough to handle it and 5900x? Thinking possibly, but unsure.
Yes
Depending on model
Though with current issues on the xtx, I'd specifically avoid the reference until more information comes out about the issue with them. I dont know a ton about it, Felix, sips and pato know more about it than I do
Yea, how do I tell which cards use the ref board? I assume it’s all the models that look like duplicates of each other…
I dont know
Any kf the three people I just mentioned (as well as many others here, those three are just some of the more active people) would likely be able to tell you
Hm alr, yeah I’m hoping by the time I go and hunt one down the issues with the ref + driver bugs are fixed
Appreciate the help though
I’ll just have to keep up with updates on it and see
What model is the psu btw?
Uhh it’s been a hot minute but I’m pretty sure it’s an A list EVGA 850
G6?
Possibly yeah, let me check
Either way, if it's A tier it'll be fine with an xtx
Most if not all B tiers would be fine too imo
It was the G1+ I think? Either way I’m pretty sure it was A tier on the list
It's fine, not like you're buying rn
yeah
Starting my second pc
Lol
When you build a 19,000+ computer and the specs are But 254gb of ram, 2 24GB 3090 water cooled, 64 core cpu, 28 rgb case fans, 1300w psu, 9tb of storage. This is only a game bc too much money but imagine tho
should i download the bios stuff on the motherboard site? or just the drivers is fine?
Finally built my PC but there’s a weird problem
My Ethernet can’t download
It connects to internet, but just doesn’t download after like 10mb
I don’t even know
I installed the lan drivers
And every other driver
But for some reason it can’t download for more than like a second
I RETURN
For some reason
I have 0 upload speed lmao
My download is 930 or something but 0 upload, no clue why
And even though I'm on an AMD board I have intel drivers for lan? not sure lol
I need help
My friend got a new gpu and it went to windows and I installed drivers and after that it just went to the boot screen and after that just turns off
Common, Intel is one of the big 3 networking chipset manufacturers.
Does it still get to bios? HDMI or DP? Have you tried safe mode?
It went into bios and tested for a cpu fan failure
HDMI
How do I go into safe mode
Find out how to boot into safe mode in Windows from Settings, the sign-in screen, and a black or blank screen.
Good that means it's still working, at least enough to post
I did load optimized default
I did the system recovery mode
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
is there a case that can be flipped to display the pc on the right?
so the right side is the window
Look up inverted layout cases, there's several. Check out the Segotep Typhon.
well when i look on wegg it comes with nada
be quiet! dark base Pro 900 Black Rev. 2 is the perfect case for all who expect the highest standards when it comes to modularity, compatibility and design. motherboard tray and HDD slots with enhanced possibilities for individual requirements three silent Wings 3 140mm PWN fans stepless dual-rai...
well theres this
expsensive as hell tho
Yeah some of the BQ cases are modular and you can flip them
@topaz flame what do you think?
you can either A. Get a windowless case
or B spend extra and get a really good case
B. xD
at this point i leave it up to you
@potent portal what about some rgb fans?
what are suggested that wont break the bank lol

@potent portal these?
Help please this is my first time building a computer and I’m confused on how to unplug the fan and get out that box I have a p400a
You can access the drive bay the box is in after removing the back panel
While you're back there you can trace the wire for the fan
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, be quiet! Silent Base 802 ATX Mid Tower
this is the end result
That looks a lot like my pc, just different brands lol
lol
Uh idk how to open the back panel I’m so confused
There's 2 screws on the back of the case. Once those are out, the panel slides off.
It’s not sliding off 😭
what case is it
P400A
should just slide off after taking off the thumbscrews
might be easier to grip case without getting glass dirty if you remove the glass too
What website is that?
its the manual for the case lol
so you should have something nearly identical
in paper
Ah
I probably lost it lol
but, for your reference if you hate reading off of dead trees
remember the thumb screws are captive
or they're supposed to be
dont be trying to pull them all the way out
Yeah turns out I was just weak I got help. Thanks for your guys’d help
how do i ruin ddu
nvm im dumb
i have to do it tommorow
you can just run it and choose to shut down after it's done
then just install the new driver tomorrow
well im not at my freinds house
How does one get case fans to sync RGB?
I have it plugged into the right place and they're compatible but I can't find them
Got it lol
i ran ddu and its in windows should i try and install the drivers
Can someone assist me. Ive put together a new build and im getting a yellow ram ez debug and red cpu but only yellow ram when I remove the ram. Currently running z690 ddr4 hyperx 16gb ram i513700k ram had issues before but ran on my previous build. Black screen on launch
You need to update bios to support the cpu
Which board do you have?
If it has flashback you can flash bios without using cpu
I have a z690
Yeah that can update bios with a usb drive
Put bios file into a usb drive, it's on msi site
Look up your board and get to downloads section
It's not an issue, but rather something to do with Z690 boards only coming with bios for 12th gen cpus
Z790 comes with 13th gen support out of box
Board made before cpu but not together = board go "the heck is this thing? I don't wanna boot"
^
Bios update helps it recognise the chip
Im gonna try all of that rn
Might need renaming bios file, but follow tutorials and the manual
It's fairly straightforward
Also lol
Gotta make sure the usb drive is an empty drive tho
The pro z690-a has a bios flash button, so follow the msi guide on the website for your board support
There's also a youtube video if you google it from msi themselves
You guys are awesome
Seconded
Might be something else
So I misstated. I dont get a black screen the screen doesnt come on at all screen flashes as if nothing is launching.
I have the flash in the bios spot
Its just sitting idle
What if I like
Installed this 12700k updated bios then launched
Which usb port did you plug it into?
It has to be the flashback port, not just any
Its in the flash bios it has a nice grey outline on it
Then you press flash button on the back of the board
I pushed button as well
I sure do hope so
Don't turn it off
If not swap for the 12700k?
Or you'll mess it up and will need an rma
So like this was an open box whats the chance that happened lol
And would swapping to the 12700 at any point not an option then?
Yeah just wondering if the guy before me made that mistake is all
But it did have all of the parts
Open box stuff are returned stuff verified working, so don't worry
Is there any light on flash button or the port?
If it's still on or flashing it's not done
It never flashed
Hmmm
Just turned red when I pushed the button
If it even flashes for a moment then stops almost straight away then the bios flash isn't accepted
Make sure the drive is empty, and bios file name is correct
You need a fat32 thumb drive
Oh right, that too
Ah good ol whatever its called
Formatting yes
Still no flash
You watched the guide ye?
In this demonstration, we’ll show you how to use Flash BIOS Button with MSI motherboard.
Try not renaming it to msi.rom but use the original file name instead
That's worked for me before
I tried that as well
Gonna just have to call it a day work early in the morning. Was hoping nothing would come up during this build but oh well. Thanks for the aid you guys have a great night sorry I couldnt produce results for ya
I needed results
So its on with the 12900
Launched immediately
What would I need to do?
Install manually through bios for the 13700?
That would work too yep
I currently have this pc that I still haven't sold because I'm amazing at procrastinating. I have a spare 1660 and 512gb spare ssd. Would I be better off selling as is, or putting those in and getting a kit of ram for it? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RCDhXy
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Cooler Master N400 ATX Mid Tower
After like 10 min or whatever we was installing windows update it went black but it was working
I’m pretty sure the gpu is broken but I’m going to check the temperature on it
And if it’s thermal throttling
Thermal throttling would not cause a black screen
^
Well it’s just turn off
Did it just go black and stop working?
Ye
That is weird
yeah more like cpu shutting down
Apply toothpaste
I’m not that dumb#
or maple syrup
in fact toothpaste can be used as a short term solution no joke
Superheat the air by applying 100,000V to it
Then air becomes a conductor
Wait that's bad
can you guys help me out on buying a pc
Well I got thermal paste so I’m going to use that
Is it overheating? You thing
Think
i mean you can use it for some tests, it will work fine
so that way you dont waste thermal paste
Or you could just run a test before doing any of that
And monitor your cpu temperatures not through task manager
MSI afterburner rtss good too
afterburner kinda wacky these days with so much virus-loaded versions around tho D:
or so i heard
Also MSI not paying the creator for a whole year
Dunno about the virus part but I haven't looked into it
It's still good to use if you don't have newest hw
It's a real thing, but easy to avoid
Go to MSI website
ye
Should be fine there
yup
It's literally owned by MSI so
I will do that
asus afterburner???
Gulp
that would be sick but i fear msi will just let it die
that meme will age like fine wine
It's literally an afterburner and launches your gpu to oblivion
Does anyone know of a good way to mimic muzzle flash?
are you sure you landed on the right discord? o.O
just trying to figure out a good way and/or software to mimic that for a setup
mimic muzzle flash for a setup? wut
For some reason imgur doesn't want to work, I was going for something similar to the first picture here with the netting, and wanted to try to mimic that from behind it
https://www.bizbash.com/home/media-gallery/13324676/vintage-army-1940s
Omg nothing legitimately nothing has worked for me during ky@build
I can’t even screw on the motherboard
I’m so close to giving up
can someone tell me if this is a good deal
What do I do I can’t screw in my motherboard
Got any pics of the board and case?
Sounds like you haven't put on standoffs for the mobo, if the case doesn't already has them installed
That’s why I’m asking I’m very confused
Any gap between it and the back?
Yeah
hmm
It’s like 2/3 of an inch
I would try taking it off just to verify
Actually like half
Do take a pic for me
Okay
Unscrew all the screws then adjust the mobo
I would start with middle ones for the first part to make sure it fits
Or you can start with the edges
Sounds like you didn't line it up right with the board
Damn I swear I did
Shouldn't really damage anything if it moves around, but it shouldn't move around unless it's incorrectly placed
Nah, it's not that easy to damage the socket
They put "safe zones" around the standoff locations so you'd have to gouge the board to actually damage it with the standoffs
You'd see visible deep scratches with exposed metal in that case
You're building laying flat and not standing up right?
It's hard to tell from pics
Yep
Is there an easier way to put on some screws because they’re positioned that makes the screw fall off and I can’t screw it in straight
just put the case horizontally on the table and use a magnetic-point screwdriver
You can shift the board around a little to line it up better. Don't tighten all the way until you have them all in.
Every hole should have a peg under it also, you're not screwing directly to the case
How do I install my laptop SSD to my PC? I got it mounted and a sata power cable plugged to my PSU but I am not sure what is with the 3 plugs on the SATA cable.
Just pick 1. Same as a fan splitter.
Near bottom right corner of mobo is the sata data ports
the good ol' 750ga
Yep.
solid psu
Aight is that all? It's all plugged in.
Do I just boot up my PC or do I need to set it up in the drive thing like with a nvme?
GUYS
quick
this is cheaper than msi a-pro wifi and like 10 bucks more than d3sh wifi
good or nah
IGABYTE B660M GAMING X AX DDR4
yes it's a good mobo
yes its a better choice, as it has flashback but whats the cpu and country?
ah then i'd get the msi b660 a pro for less
no no I mean
if it was 13th then then the gaming x would be the obvs choice but you wont need flashback
the msi b660 is like 10 bucks extra
or 20 I think
like 10 bucks less
up to you both gigab boards are a decent choice for a 12400
Yes for me, even if just a 12400. Always liked slightly overbuilt mobos.
I got my laptop's ssd plugged into my desktop now, however there seems to be an issue.
How come I can't see the files that were on the laptop before?
Yeah but you're only really paying for future proofing at that point
I got my laptop's ssd plugged into my desktop now, however there seems to be an issue.
How come I can't see the files that were on the laptop before?
Did you have encryption?
I don't think so.
also I should rephrase, I don't see all of the files but I do see some.
Is it because that drive still has win10 on it installed?
also not sure why but I see 2 new drives instead of just 1?
Nope you should be able to see them normally going through the folders
Help want to buy a switch needs are , I have a gaming computer 3090 ti 4k hdmi and a work computer with regular hdmi and would like to switch between them. Need 1computer at a time 8:00 am to 5pm both monitors then 6pm switch to gaming computer both monitors
Which switch do I need please help
Getting new monitors 4k 240hz under monitors
Kvm switch
Which one will work for me
nvm, seems I did. Problem solved.
Thanks guys for helping me install my ssd.
Was looking at the tesmart
I contacted them there answer was not I am looking pass 240hz
Are there some other companies
Brands
what is a reputable free disk migration tool?
I’m not sure where my audio plugin or my usb plug is can somebody help?
It’s the asus tuf z690 plus wifi d4
I already did
It’s my first time building so I’m confused
Bottom is audio, right is USB 3.0.
Line up the notch on the connector for the USB connector for your case to it.
Note the missing pin for the audio connector.
Ty but for the usb I meant like a cable
Because I was watching a tutorial which showed that
Oh.
Ok thanks for your help
Where’s the jfp on my motherboard? I have a asus tuf z690 plus wifi d4 I can’t seem to find it. Idk why but almost everything is named differently than the video I am watching
On the sff strix motherboard that I can’t put two m.2 on does the back m.2 just not have a heat sink or am I missing something?
Jfp?
Jumper front panel I think
Oh should be bottom right and be called f panel or something
Ok thank you
F panel is like always bottom right fyi
Not always very bottom right but in that area
Any ideas?
That's be it
No heatsink
As then you wouldn't be able to screw in the mobo
That'd*
Ok thank you
ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 is an Intel® Z690 (LGA 1700) ATX gaming motherboard with 16 DrMOS power stages, PCIe 5.0, four M.2 slots, WiFi 6, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C®, and Aura Sync RGB lighting.
I don’t understand how to set up my rgb on my fans can somebody help
What should I make my aio on the meshilicous intake right?
yes
gpu and cpu should ideally both be intaking air
If anyone has a minute and would look over this build list for me I'd appreciate it. Most parts were just quickly grabbed to get a price estimate for someone
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MxQMH2
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 6800, Fractal Design Pop XL Air ATX Full Tower
they would like Bluetooth whether that be on the mobo or a separate card
I'm guessing they want full atx too instead of saving $30
are they deadset on am4?
probably better to do atx yeah
They could get a good gpu boost going 12th gen there
am5? and no not set on a certain cpu
Or wait a month for X3D
That 750W is the price of a 850W A tier btw
RMx is great but $$$$
Guessing the case is an aesthetic choice too
nah mostly just a price holder
If they can spend $100 more https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yTTV8r
if not https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wQ2Zmr
Part List - Intel Core i5-13400F, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Pop XL Air ATX Full Tower
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Pop XL Air ATX Full Tower
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
that doesn't include the wifi and bluetooth though
if fine with changing cases felix's is a good choice
The other thing was they were thinking ddr5 so mobo and ram would last them longer but if you think ddr4 is a better move ill listen to you
could also switch it to that case or g360a in any of the three
Ddr4 is a better move
8gb ddr5 sticks are not good
ok
DDR4 does actively hurt 13th gen performance by about 5% on average across the board
Meh
12th gen is ok except maybe 12900k in some games
I would say whether it be worth spending more on ram and maybe board to make up that gap tho
Could technically get a 4070ti on that budget but you'll be pushing it with a 12400
Like really wringing that cpu dry lol
Assuming 1440p
It could be worth getting DDR5 for future builds too
I still wouldn't bother spending more on a cpu even if you go back to 6800
ok
Used GPUs are worth a look too
if i can convince them I will
I've seen 3080 around $400
i saw one today for 370 sold
"ehh I don't wanna end up with some crypto mining card" :/
Mining doesn't hurt it but ok, then get AMD used. 6950XT.
yeah that's gotta be up in the top 5 tech misconceptions
No one in their right mind used AMD to mine.
lowest buy it now is 670 :(
How do I install a Galahad 360 aio
Lga 1700
Im getting insanely frustrated from it
In this video, we show you how to install LIAN LI Galahad 240/360 AIO on an LGA 1700 socket. LGA1700 Sockets are found on Intel B660, Z690, H670 and H610 motherboards.

Did you strip a screw or something?
Airflow go crazy
I did replace thermal paste and still the same thing
Can you explain to me what's happening
There's like 5 different chains to read through and I'm missing a ton of context
Ok so my friend got new gpu and ram but when we went to download drivers it turned black and wouldn’t turn back on we got into safe mode ram ddu and still same thing got recommended to replace cpu thermal paste did that and still same thing
Just downloading drivers?
Hm
Have you checked the psu cables are plugged in correctly
I.e 4+4 into motherboard, 8 into psu
6+2 into gpu, 8 into psu
24 pin into mobo, 16+8/20+4 into psu
Having your cpu cables backwards can cause sudden behaviour like that
Also a dodgy psu
It’s a Alienware
For anyone curious this will run but volt and ground are all muddled
Still worth checking
Detected ≠ properly seated
Make sure they click top and bottom
I have
Sudden black screens on light load sound psu related to me
I’m going to try the gpu on my main pc
650
And the CPU it's also running
Ok so should be fine, great wall unit
If you have no problems with the gpu in the other system then I would def again check psu cable runs to make sure they aren't backwards
Or via bios if you have an option to set an LLC
I'm having a weird issue
Randomly during games my PC will go black and the fans speed up a ton
But I can still hear and talk
Is your gpu overheating
It never goes over 70 C from my monitoring things
🤔
sounds like gpu driver issue
It's random but I noticed it's only when settings are cranked up high in like warzone or OW2
I did a clean install of GPU drivers with DDU
So not sure tbh
Hotspot temps are what
70 sounds like core
Yeah it did the same thing on my main pc
Rma it
70 is all I could see, it's like the in game GPU temp thingy
Then it's not the gpu don't rma
Download hwinfo64 and check hotspot
Black screen and fans ramped is either driver crash or worse
There is one weird thing
For some reason everywhere it says I have AMD gpu and nvidia
No fans ramp
Not u
the hot spot seems fine, but it is saying GPU #1 AMD radeon
which makes no sense lol
Ok so try a game like warzone rq
That is weird
Did you ddu between gpu's?
What CPU do you have?
Me?
7700x
You have an AMD iGPU
@south cliff put gpu back in the alienware
I will ping you if I'm talking to you now Darth
oh
Ok sorry
Nah it's not hurting anything
alright lemme load it up
And then come back and show us that hwinfo screen again
Should I load up a game
Can if you want to test it
What would you do
@south cliff Testing it sounds like a good idea
Any old game tbh
I don’t got old games
the most unoptimized game of all time?
Should I download drivers
thats what it crashed on before lol
No temp over 60 in mordahou
Figurative, I mean literally anything
Nope hotspot ignores that
The highest it's gotten is 77
Show screenshot
I want that whole gpu screen readout again
Well I took it out
Oh wait wrong ping sorry darth
Your good everything looked good
Send me this again giraffe
It’s probably the ram
When it’s down resetting I’m going to test each one in my system
Yeah, just playing through a full game rn sorry lol
Ok
No crash this time
But it also happened in overwatch so it's not like WZ exclusive
what’s the difference b/t an ATX and a micro ATX mobo
Ok it's not the card overheating then, if you haven't tried ddu then try it
Yeah I'll just look out for it in the future
Would you perhaps know anything about ethernet
I'm having some really weird issues
What kind of issues
I have really good download speeds, but literally 0 upload for some reason
Only on ethernet
On wifi it works perfectly fine
I have drivers as well
You've installed the latest driver from your mobo support page?
Yeah I try to and it doesnt change the driver in device manager
And when I try to uninstall it it instantly reinstalls one from like 2 years ago idk why
Ok we'll try the one from the manufacturer of the chipset
Intel or Realtek? Those are the most common
Windows 10 or 11
windows 10
The second one, for x64
This driver released 2 weeks ago
I did that then restarted my pc this shows up 😭
Yeah I figured so
I think I might’ve messed up my drivers at the start because instead of individually downloading them I used the gigabyte master software or whatever
Ok well F8 and load safe mode with networking
Uninstall the driver from device manager
Then see if the default driver has any issues
If it does you might have a hardware issue
Could it just be the Ethernet cable?
That would be the next thing to test if the standard driver has issues
See what it does with no cable inserted
Wifi is nice to have as a backup isn't it
Just like that iGPU
It’s a new one every time 😭😭😭
If recovery mode doesn't fix it then it's a hardware issue.
Maybe the bad cable shorted the port.
Recovery mode doesn’t start
It just goes black then back to that screen
Should I get windows on a usb and try to reset it?
You can give that a go sure
If that doesn’t work and it is hardware
Is this something warranty would cover by any chance
Yeah bought it last weekend
Exchange will be faster and less painful then
Alright I’m gonna try and do a fresh install rq I guess
Randomly decided to work now lmao
Possible
I have no idea tbh
But that doesn't really account for the network issues
But I'm on it now and it works
Best I could get of the cable
It did happen to work after I unplugged that cable
And did the safe mode
I'll just another cable and use wifi for now
Hey guys, I need some help. I have a i9 10850k paired with an MSI MAG CORE LIQUID 360R cooler, built the PC around 1.5 year ago and recently it started overheating. The temperature is at 40C upon launch and slowly climbs to 55C whilst idle. When watching YouTube alone, even though I have hardware acceleration turned on, the temps go to 80C. Was also exporting a premiere Pro file just before and the temps went up to 104C. The max CPU usage I ever saw was 20%. I've reapplied thermal paste and cleaned everything. Could it be the orientation of the cooler that made air build up in the top compartment resulting in little water flow? Anyone have any suggested on what to do? Thanks
It was the ram that was the problem thanks so much
Geez. I’d get in touch with MSI, to be honest. Seems like a faulty cooler
I have that same cooler & customer service was really helpful tbh
Nice glad that's sorted
The msi aio's have an apparent history of clogging up, I'm not familiar if this specific one has the problem, but it might be related
Or yeah, pump dying, percolation etc
What was your issue? And would it matter that I got it a while ago?
I'll contact MSI, thanks
Idk if you're covered by warranty but yeah, they had a recall a while ago about it if you look up google
Mine just didn’t come with some of the hardware, but they fixed it. But yeah I did see that some of theirs were recalled
If you type in your serial number or whatever on the site it’ll tell you if yours was in the recall period I think
So one of the ram sticks isn’t working should I use dual channel for 16 Gb or 3 for 24 Gb
Is that product registration?
Yeah should be
I bought off eBay so don't have an invoice
Is there no way to just search via serial number? @languid nimbus
Hmmm I’m actually not sure, I can’t quite remember
I’m pretty sure if you just register it, it’ll tell you everything you need to know
Go and buy a new set of cheap 2x16gb
And sell the 24gb
You need an invoice for registration, I don't have one
Silicon power 32gb gaming is 64$
Ebay new?
Your ebay account will have details of the order no?
That can substitute an invoice
Provided it was sold "brand new"
Right, it was. Thanks

Boys and girls need help here. I have a PRO Z690-A motherboard with two 16gb ram (32gb) of 3200mhz but when enabling the XMP and putting it to the ram MGZ which it 3200mhz it crash and was only enable to leave it at about 3000mhz
I did put my ram in the good place which is 2-4
Hmm I think I need a different CPU cooler
thx
Gaming and windows no the Alienware
can it not take an nvme?
It’s a r8 so I’m not sure
I'd check, it likely can
Is this a good one for the price
yes
Yea
surely has a slot for m.2 ssd
hm nah, no m.2 slots for ssd
it can 100% take an nvme
I read that some parts do t fit in regular case
Anything else that’s decent?
this would be alright ig https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Pzkj4D/pny-cs900-480gb-25-solid-state-drive-ssd7cs900-480-pb
Is this one good
the two sata ssds i normally recommend are the mx500 and 870 qvo/evo
but the 870s dont come in 500gb and the mx500 is overpriced
It says it’s the same speed as the one at the top and 10 dollars Cheaper
look for any of these
speeds are next to irrelevant
much more goes into performance than just speed
the cs900 is a low end ssd, Im not sure with the one you linked falls
Give your computer a performance boost with the HP S700 SSD. yes
Ah that’s not the pro
oh mb
It’s 42 for 512gb is that good
Is there a big difference
Oh ok
Can I case swap the alienware r8
likely not without also changing atleast the mobo
Ok
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
good build?
you can do a bit better https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bbtqfv
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Assuming a ~1100$ budget I'd do this with one of the gpus, also i would consider the 13400f instead if you have the budget for it without compromising the budget towards the 6750xt instead

ok
I'm still waiting on my motherboard lmao
I can't even refund yet cause of some issues that happened
I gave it back to my friend and I was playing on it before I gave it to him and when he got home it started doing the same thing’s
A I’m so overwhelmed. Can somebody help me with the cables for my Galahad 360 aio? And fans
360mm
Yep
It's not the gpu tho because it works fine in yours. It's something else
Yoo same build
Big w
I don’t know what it could be
U have any benchmarks for games with those specs?
Goes to bios then load then black screen
I suspect it's psu or ram related
The behaviour is consistent with these two things
I did last night there was one faulty ram stick
I put a different psu in it
Ah, did you reinstall windows after that?
Should I put the oem one back
Yup
And installed drivers it was all good
Playing games anything
@ornate condor
Until he plugged it in
Oh
And it stopped working
OH
OH OK
He has dirty power or something
Oh boi I'm not that great on this subject
Is it just the plug#
Extension cords typically don't help depending on gauge and length but yeah not the root cause

He should try plugging in at a different part of the house
Ok I will tell him
Like, other half, different room
There's a chance it's related
If you were fine with the whole pc then there's a very good chance this is it
Alright he says he is doing something so let me get back to you
With my 12600k and rx 6800?
Yes
Any
So I haven't found an up to date answer for this:
If a motherboard supports up to 3200mHz ram, and I put 3600mHz ram in it, what will happen? will the ram run at the motherboard supported speed or not at all?
Depends a lot on the situation, if you're on like b460 you're stuck with a limit, on some other platforms, it might mean the traces are terrible but could probably do more, and on most platforms, there's the official support that's usually like 3200 but it can do much higher and be fine
But you could also be limited by imc
If you're on Zen 1 or Zen+, you'll be pretty lucky going over 3200mhz
I’m planning on getting this board https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813119572?Item=N82E16813119572&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-13-119-572-_-01142023
It's almost like his name starts the sentence

H610I will run 3200 jedec
3600 will not work
Also for reference, which cpu?
Iirc h610 is hard locked to 3200 max
I have 12400 currently
Yeah you'll be pushing it
12400 stock is the max I'd put in it
Motherboard is made for barebones spec
Got an ITX mobo recommendation that can take 3600 ram? $150 or less would be best.
I'm not sure what's there but looks like max 4 phase vrm
Asrock has one
Link?
Gimme a minute
Alright
Nvm they did have one
Aorus lite is pretty chill
Next cheapest is the z690m
Or otherwise aorus lite
yes
The asrock iirc runs up to 13600k
And aorus would do up to 13900k
No wait I remember
Good enough for me. I don’t need a beefy cpu for anything I do
Yeah
If ever you need an upgrade
I have an atx mobo now, but I want to build an itx with the same components, so I can always go back to my old case and mobo. I’m planning on doing it so I can take it to college and not have a massive case in my dorm
I don’t have a windows key, so I don’t care about those issues
I probably will eventually build another system
pretty pointless when the b660 hdv is like 80$ tho lol
oh itx ye
keep in mind that your cpu may not support 3600mhz ram in gear 1
it's better to go for 3200mhz xmp unless you are willing to do some manual tuning
H610
even in z790
a locked cpu may not run 3600 gear 1
it's silicon lottery
and 3200 gear 1 is far superior to 3600 gear 2
CPU currently runs 3600 mhz
oh you already have the ram running with it
use hwinfo to check what gear mode it's in
Yeah. I have a complete system. I’m just converting it to itx
if your system has defaulted to 3600 gear 2 you could be missing out on a LOT of performance
compared to 3200 gear 1
yes
you might need to manually tune it to run something like 3400 gear 1 if your cpu cannot do 3600 gear 1
I don’t know how to oc ram
i did a comparison here, if you look at cpu scores you can see that 3200c16 gear 1 beats 3600c16 gear 2 by about 15% in average and minimum fps
well check when you get back, if you're lucky your system just does 3600 gear 1 without tuning
It’s a 12400f, so It’s not a crazy cpu. I’d say it’s probably running in gear 2
Ahhhh
paired with a 3090
I have a 3060
it's just luck of the draw, some 12th gen non-K cpus can run 3800 gear 1, some can only run 3000 gear 1
it's not based on model either, you will see the same behavior between i3-12100 and i9-12900
it's just individual variance
So how do you oc ram
https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md this is a nice guide
you don't need to go this far just to set 3400 gear 1 though
don't worry about it until you can check what your pc is running at
if you're lucky you have nothing to worry about
if it is indeed running 3600 gear 2 then come back and ask for help then
Is there a ddr5 version
probably, but i haven't touched any ddr5 yet so i haven't looked for any info on it
Oh
How do I set up all the cables and everything
Very carefully

nvm
how much diff is the 5700 to the 5800
In gaming, next to nothing
He said it didn’t work
When I tried to connect my monitor it said no hdmi signal from your device on first time trying to do this. Any ideas on how to fix?
got a strange compatability or hardware issue going on if anyone would care to chime in with some advice
My friend just busted his glass on his o eleven dynamic L

Jog my memory again
I5 Raptor lake 13600, 32gb ddr5, 3060ti. windows 10. been running fine for over a month last night it just starts wigging out on warthunder of all games.
then it keeps blue screening me non stop, took out my ssd and video card, put them into a much older rig, no problems.
cant even keep my actual rig running long enough to even diagnose it
Do you have the specific blue screen error
i contacted windows thinking maybe it was just some wonky update i couldnt find, they had me reistall, which i had to do on this other rig, which whiped my SSD and it still doesnt work on my new rig
yeah that sounds familiar, but it was giving me several different ones also
i also got Whea uncorrectable error
yep, it's lumed TFORCE ram so it clicks in pretty solid
i havent, it wont run long enough to do anyways, i've got 16gigs of ddr4 i could try out though
Sometimes cpu can be related but I doubt if it's stock
it's stock, havent OC'd it
You'd need a different board for ddr4
you sure? i thought it'd run both
There's only one board that runs both and it's a h610 that can only do 1 stick at a time
Anyone know why I’m not getting any signal for hdmi from my pc?
And it's garbage for a 13600k lol
Yeah definitely won't fit

out of stock when I tried to buy it
