consumer grade cpus usually have 2 channels, thats why on the mobos you have A1, A2, B1, B2

you can go 2 sticks of dual rank, or 4 sticks of single rank

It's it's a am4 chip, most likely the latch was fully pushed down, just you didn't twist and loosen the paste before pulling straight out. Even with latch fully on, it's still not very hard to pull out the CPU with the cooler

As for not working now, check for bent pins as that's a common issue when that happens

That'll be RGB. There's a version of your board with RGB headers and one without. Do you have the jrgb1 header, bottom left, near the front audio? Is that 3 or 4 pins because the manual has it covered up?

A common thing I've seen is accidentally switching the power and reset buttons. Another thing to check is that all the connectors are tight, you have the 24 pin motherboard and 8 pin CPU plugged in, and GPU if it has them.

my pc is being weird, im on windows 10 (havent activated it yet so that could be the problem)
about ten mins or so after booting my pc it locks me into whatever tab i am in, so if i tab out it doesnt let me click anything, the taskbar buttons dont highlight, etc basically the only thing that functions is the tab i was in when it went wrong, if i try to alt tab the menu flicks up for a split second then disappears, same with pressing the windows key
it appears to only happen when i have several tabs open
it happened last night and i wrote it off as a RAM overflow and just ignored it but i know its not that because A. i didnt have enough open to cause that and B. i checked task manager and it was all fine
