But 5950X is a little bit hot boi
Why
That's just it's design
Dang that sucks
So download occt
Ok
Run a power test in it
oooof really
And use hwinfo64 to check the cpu frequency
my 11900k was 32C idle and 90C underload
Yes mine idles at 55C most of the time
Let me put it back up and check
Very normal esp. when you don't have an offset mount
Cos it measures tdie temps and those take forever to drop down to 30-ish
Unlike the CCD's which are already down in the 30's
So the CCD's (your cores basically) will spike to 50 or 60C then straight back down to the 30's but tdie takes foreverrrrr to come back down
So by the time your cores spike up again for usage, the tdie isn't even below 50 yet
Unlike intel which the IHS is a lot thinner so it drops very quickly
If you do a stock power test for it and you see over 4ghz, maybe 4.2GHz across all cores then it'll be in working order @dapper fern
Hopefully not too hot at stock, only 145W
Hwinfo 64 open?
yes enable sensors
Ye sensors only
Then open occt and left hand side middle, it'll have a few options, click power
Or cpu, either one
Power also does gpu but it's quicker
i see power
850
Ok go
its running
is it any of those
That's occt not hwinfo64
Open the tab core effective clocks
Then grab a screenshot of that and then scroll down and grab a screenshot of cpu temps
this one you mean
Ok power and temps look fine
Can you expand the core clocks tabs pls
Core clocks and core effective clocks
Ok power and temps are fine, you can stop the test
now is at 70
That's fine
it keeps going up and down
It can run 95C all day and be fine
spikes fast take a bit to go down then up
What matters is your full 100% load state is 66C
gotcha
ok let me find it is that what it called exactly
Precision Boost Overdrive
gotcah
Enabled - not manual
ok
Manual is for if you want to do all the tuning by hand including curve optimiser
Ok
Also turn off asus multicore enhancement
Aka MCE
It can overvolt the cpu and actually hurt it
are those just enabled by default or what tho
MCE likely is
Should be under the second tab in advanced
Tweaking tab or whatever it's called
Partway down
Asus multicore enhancement
Or multithread or something with an m and c lol
Okay I even searched it can’t find it
Okay
This
Not there idk
There is something called ai overclock tuner
Leave that disabled
Pbo still on yes?
Ok leave bios and run the tests again
In
It's fine
Okay
Your cpu is fine just born a little weird mmk
So run the Occt scan again
Ok
@cyan ravine is it fixed
Pretty much, just making sure the cpu is running the right settings
nice
Much better, temps?
idk if the test makes it hot but id say the same 70 now
Power tho
i bought more paste comes tomorrow i will repaste cpu again for the 4 times
I wanna see power draw
where is it
Yup, all looks good now
i guess the nzxt coolers are bad lol
Run a cinebench test real quick and if you score like, 27K, you're good
R23 cinebench
It's handling the chip fine like any other decent 360 aio
You don't need a repaste imo
Just run cinebench and lmk the scores after 1 pass
Single and multi
oh ok
Just run one pass of both
You'll see an orange bar on the bottom left, mouse over it will give your score
As soon as it appears that's a rough score - good enough for this
ok
Don't need to do full 10 minute run
Ah single core yeah
yes
Everything we've done has been stressing the cpu
gotcha
It won't
99% of the time it'll save itself from going too hot
And slow down at 95C
okay
And not all core OC - that can kill the chip
cuz i really hate doing that
OC is manual PBO and curve optimiser - the right way to OC
i never oced cpu before just gpu and used that auto one lol
should i overclock the 3080 ti i have
Up to you tbh
will it be better tho
it runs well on hitman 3 max settings 4k but sometimes it hitches
idk what causing it to do so
Hello can I get an experienced builders help
ask inside the general tap more people there on
yeah I tried haha
sometime they miss it try again lol happens with me all the time
Its the last message sent in general lol
Sobbing metaphorically
i don't have much experience i just go after high end builds lol i don't pay rent or stuff so i keep my money
i had a 500 budget when i started
had a 2600 and a rx580
R23 yes?
Those are a bit low, go back to bios and flip core performance boost back on and then run those tests again
That mightn't have been MCE after all
any recommendations on argb fans?
Arctic P12s
those were the ones i was looking at just wanted to make sure lol
Yep, good value:perf
whats the recommendation on how many fans intake to exhaust ?
more intake
Yes
Your cinebench scores should be around 26K, and around 1570-ish at the minimum
It's definitely doing better than before but another bios switch needs flipping
I'm outta time to help tho
is the ryzen 7 5800x worth it?
for what price
Shame on you for not being here 24/7 to help everyone in need.
$199
How dare you
Choosing a cpu involves a lot of factors. Price, what you're using it for, do you already have a motherboard that supports it, ect.
If I have a 1660 ti what psu should I buy
Well what CPU are you using with the 1660 Ti?
Ryzen 5 1600

hard to comment on things without a price
yup ur right
but can't find corsair vengenance ram 32 gb with ddr5
the only i see is ddr4
Check what motherboard you chose
Motherboards are either ddr4 or ddr5, not both
is this a good build at all? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/skellamator/saved/#view=j7CTMp
it's private
this is my friends build im just here to see if its good because we both have no clue on anything
this is much cheaper and a lot better https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8ZZcPX

and windows is free to use
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-13700K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
that's pretty overpriced
yup
i keep hitting enter instead of '
no cpu cooler?
stock cooler
ahh
i will checkout the electronic markets and online markets like amazon or ebay
i'd get g360a
mobo is super overpriced for what you get
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-13700KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
you meant me ?
check that list
sure
i will check it out
Ill get the link 1 sec
What do y'all think of this as a portable m-itx build?
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, Radeon RX 6600, RAIJINTEK OPHION EVO Mini ITX Desktop
i could use the case and the psu you mentioned it would save my money and the psu have a good performance
but about the rams and motherboard i would prefer mine especially DDR5 for my intel core i7 13th gen
ddr5 isn't really worth it, and a $300 mobo is just excessive
too much psu
and the alo you guys mentioned is good but i prefer nzxt because of how it looks cool and hot lol
can do much better
nzxt products are almost always overpriced and mediocre
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P200A DRGB Mini ITX Tower
Mucho Gusto!
i agree with you at this point that its overpriced but im soo excited for it about gifs and how it looks
I need 6 cores and for it to be easily carryable...that case doesn't look easily carryable
there is another alo CORSAIR iCUE H150i
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Desktop
Cant argue with that
same as nzxt answer
can add a lil lcd display in the pc easily and much cheaper
Can also buy some used parts and save more
yup uhhhhh
the scary thing i dont trust online shopping i dont want to take risk because of the sellers , idk if the seller is trusted or not
did anyone faced troubles with shipping ?
I buy almost everything from ebay. If it doesnt work send it back and get a refund. I buy mostly for parts machines. 90% of them have been all good.
Bought this. It was a scam return to the seller. All it needed was a bios update and I had to reflow the GPU.
PSU is overpriced, use the stock cooler, Do you need 32GB of ram in your carry on pc?
I'd rather have 32 and not need it than to have 16 and need more
Also a good pack of fans I buy those b stock on ebay
I play lots of modded games like Minecraft, Skyrim, etc as well as Forza horizon 4 and 5
I say B stock and they are no longer available
I'm just trying to make a small, semi-easily portable m-itx build that I can take with me to work when I have absolutely nothing to do or I need to stay over for a few days due to weather
You also might need 1 more fan splitter with that mobo
Gross fan hubs always break
I just havent had the best of luck then 😦
People also say Corsair RAM sucks, but I've ran multi kits across multiple systems w/o failure
I bought my kit 3 months ago and xmp has already become unstable.
I have a kit that's 3 or so years old and still going strong
LPX i havent had issues with but the rgb pro I cant seem to get a good kit.
I decided to swap to balistix rgb
i will try my luck with some parts if i didn't found it in electronic shops that is in my city
Not sure if this is the right chat but my mobo is showing as my cpu not being detected i reseated the cpu and switched cables for the cpu power no luck its a intel i9-13900k
thanks guys for your info
I know its hard to trust online. I once was like that. If I paid money I wanted it right then.
What motherboard
Msi pro z690-a
Did you update the BIOS?
yup but i will try to see the seller and the reviews and ratings
I did not ill try that out thanks @woven horizon
13th gen does not work on 600 boards out of the box. Youll need to use flashback or a 12th gen CPU
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6600, Phanteks EVOLV SHIFT XT Mini ITX Desktop
I actually like this case more
Making me want to build a mini pc.
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 2600, GeForce GTX 1080, Fractal Design Torrent Nano Mini ITX Tower
Lol
This is for when I have to stay over for days on end at work so...
I actually like the phanteks Evo shift...
Looks interesting
Cant someone recommend a decent looking m-atx case?
is it really a scam return if the gpu needed a reflow
The motherboard was swapped, fans swapped, ssd removed, 5600xt was not the original one, psu cable extensions removed.
It was a disaster. Thankfully I was able to salvage it and turn a great profit.
Eh if they scam return take pictures and do a partial refund.
the only time i've shipped a pc for sale was to a friend
If they ask why you didn’t refund everything tell them that it was missing the original parts and once they are returned they will receive the entire amount minus shipping.
i don't want them to have the option to return at all lol
I do returns minus shipping both ways. It discourages them from doing returns when they lose 60 getting it to them and 70-80 sending it back.
They have to ask themselves is it really worth losing $140 to return this?
I don’t charge restock but some sellers charge up to 30% their return rate is likely a non zero number but it’s low.
my return rate is exactly 0%
This is why I take videos every time I open a box containing expensive things. So if I do get a rock in my GPU box I have more than receipts.
Yeah me too, anything I'm selling worth more than $100 gets a handwritten paper with my username. It adds to buyer confidence.
I also have "warranty seals" for my refurbs with unique numbers
Because I do warranty them
Hi builders. I don't know if this is the right place, but I'm looking to improve my 3D modeling rig with some beefier components, and while I have an okay knowledge on how to build. I thought I'd try to get some help with this one.
What do you currently have? It helps to put a part list together in https://pcpartpicker.com/ and link the build here.
Let me do a quick build to further explain
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR
so this is my current build. I'm looking to up to a beefier CPU with 32 threads or approx. And at the same time, get a more updated MOBO(If needed). My current MOBO has very few fan headers, and even a splitter doesn't give me the optimal use of fans I want.
Also my 3080 eats up most of the space it has to offer, and I'm afraid that all my parts aren't being used optimally for it.
I'm also afraid doing these upgrades will make me have to start my PC from scratch, and will erase most of my work stuff I have currently on it.
But like I said. I have some pretty basic knowledge
I also don't have my OS loaded onto my SSD, for kind of the same fear of losing everything, the SSD was a more recent upgrade for the software I'm using.
Do you have enough room on your 4tb to back up everything to it? Or is that your boot drive?
It's kind-of just extra storage. My 1tb HDD is my boot drive
alright. Back up everything you have stored on your 1tb HDD and 1tb SSD to your 4TB HDD. You can then use the SSD as your boot drive which would be miles better. Also, you would only need to upgrade cpu/mobo. Everything else is fine. Going the upgrade route of a new mobo you could also get you a NVME SSD which I would suggest.. a cheap 512gb for boot would be fine ($30 give or take). Also, what case do you have?
I'm honestly not sure. It was originally a cheaper cyberware pre-built I bought years back and gutted most of the components out of (Besides the Mobo and a few fans).
And I'd like to get an NVME as well.
ah, that explains why not much upgradeability for your fan space.
Alright. I'd also suggest grabbing a new case.
There's literally 2 fan headers haha.
Since your GPU is fine that def saves a good chunk.
I was thnking of going with a ryzen 9 5900x.
How do you feel about intel?
I've actually never used Intel
alright. I think a 13700k/kf would be good for you. Unless you want to spend the extra for a 13900k, but I'm not sure you need that.
Whats the main difference?
You would want a z690 board with bios flashback so you can flash a bios that supports 13th gen
the i9 has 32 threads which is closer to what you were looking for.
yeah, I'd probably shell out for the i9. Just for the threads.
Alright.
Is there a case you'd recommend as well?
Do you need igpu?
I'm gonna put together a list
I actually have no idea what that is 😮
well.. modify your list
the cpu gpu
not the regular gpu
I'll take that as a no then
Oh. I don't think so
@warm cave I personally like the board I chose in this. It has bios flashback, wifi, looks good, and performs well. You could go with the MSI Pro for a tad cheaper, but I don't think it performs as well as the Tomahawk. I threw a 512gb NVME on the list as well. If you wanted something a little bigger for your boot drive, could opt for the 1tb of the same one. The case would be good for you to keep the stuff cool as well. Why pcpp is claiming it'll draw 800w, I'm not sure, but you should be fine with 850w psu
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-13900KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
@warm cave There are cheaper mobos/cases, but I figured reliability here is a must since it seems like your work is important.
AWesome! I took a look. I great appreciate your time. And yeah, my work is really important. I'm just trying to get my rig faster, more cappable. Then it would just be finding the time to complete the build while making sure my data stays uncomprimised.
You mentioned backing eveyrything up on the 4tb.
How do you back up all that data and relocate it?
Also, would I have to get a new OS key?
I certainly don't have the one the computer came with haha
btw an SSD is gonna be more safe/reliable than an HDD
plus way faster
If they are files that you can normally move around on your PC then you can just transfer them to your HDD.
Ah okay!
@warm cave This. I would suggest converting to NVME/Sata SSD for the future as your budget allows. In the long run (and even short run) you'll be thankful you did.
I would prioritize NVME though
Yeah I wouldn't mind having an NVME solely dedicated to my boot. while using my
SSD for my work software.
1TB NVME will easily fit OS and most commonly used software
Those go for an arm and a leg right? I think I've actually seen em for about $100?
100/tb is pretty typical for SSDs at this point
some are cheaper some are more expensive
OH! Ontop of all that. How do I optimize my cooling?
the Arctic AIO I put in there will be the main source of cooling for the CPU. It's liquid cooling. You'll want to put that in the front of the case with the fans as intake. You'll want 3 fans on top for exhaust and 1 fan in the rear as exhaust.
I suggest grabbing arctic p12s since they are good performers.
Thank you 🙂
2 intake 4 exhaust?
3 intake 4 exhaust
it's how I ran my 4000D with no problems
oh 360mm rad
why using a z690? why not a z790?
still negative pressure though
ddr4 read up a bit
he already has a build
I didn't know that
sadly you are losing a lot of potential goin dd4 on the 13th gen 😦
he already has ddr4
trying to get him an upgrade cheapest way possible.
he needs something with as many threads as he can for his 3d work
The only thing new in that list I gave is cpu/mobo/case/aio/nvme
If you wanna revise it to something better that'd be cool.
without sacrificing reliability.
100/tb is premium at this point
mp33 is a fantastic nvme that's frquently 60-70/tb
in usd anyways
I'd say if you averaged out some of the best options it would be around $100
But yes there are cheaper ones that work well
A lot of the upper mid range to high range ones are $100-130
no reason to buy any gen 3 drive besides mp33, so the other options would be gen4 drives
unless other gen3 drives are on heavy sales
like mp34 gets close to mp33 sometimes
I may have ran with only 2 up top. I can't remember now.
hi does anyone have a good build for 500-600 dollars
usd?
are you in the us?

😭
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower
the serious answer is to drop the gpu yeah
and change to better cheaper psu
you're perfectly fine
😳
😳
its not even a tuesday my guy 👉 👈
every day is homie appreciation day
will there be good deals on parts near black friday time?
probably not?
I call heads
Ok you get ehads
I'll take heads, pato tails
Anyone know where on the b560 motherboard i connect the coolant with the fans and additional fans?
Which B560 and which cooler
CPU_OPT is for extra fans that need to run the same speed as the main CPU fan
This is an installation video on the @NZXT Kraken Z73 RGB in the NZXT H710i.
This is a visual upgrade to the original Kraken Z73 I unboxed and reviewed a year ago (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMvO2NBQcSs) that packs RGB fans and a very nice white aesthetic.

My board doesn’t have pump fan1 option
Alright lads I’m needing some help also please. When I built this pc, my buddy swore he knew how, but didn’t at all, lmao. So I’m going through trying to rewire it now. First question: where does the power sw & reset sw go?
Prime Z390-A btw
It’s from a prebuilt Check this out on @Newegg: ABS Master Gaming PC - Intel i5 10400F - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 16GB DDR4 3000MHz - 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD https://www.newegg.com/abs-ali559/p/N82E16883360189?Item=N82E16883360189&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-360-189-_-11062022
RST = Reset
PWR = Power
GND = Ground
NC = Not Connected
The good thing about switches is positive and negative don't technically matter
Okay, gotcha. Is there a difference in either of the PLED ones then? Can I use the one on top or on bottom?
PLED is for the light that shows it's on, HDD LED is the one that shows activity on a hdd/ssd
Those ones polarity matters, + to + and all
Ahhh okay. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately that doesn't narrow it down, but the model is printed on the board itself
If you're near a microcenter there's a deal on AMD, you get a free kit of DDR5 and $50 off a motherboard with a 7000 series CPU
Another question: I have this cable that splits into two of the same 8-pin ends. Is it okay to use both of these for my 3080 with two 8pin connections, or do I need to use separate cables?
Definitely separate ones
Awesome ty
Thats actually incredible
without oc youre fine to use 1 cable
i think sep cables looks better though
Yeah they’re just kinda weird because they separate and I’m trying to have a clean build so i dunno
I wouldn't be spending that much on a 2 year old dead platform, and especially not that CPU which somehow managed to be worse than the 10700
11700k is faster than the 10700 in every case though no?
thats what i saw on gns vid
Didn’t find the link to the combo you mentioned
Cut the unused ends off
It's in store only
That's why I said if you're close to one
Can I actually do that or is that satire lol
No really you can cut them
Yep
Just don't let the metal inside short
ye
Gotcha, yeah I may do that, idk
or get cable extnesions and hide the uglies
Yeah, and you can get sleeves to hide the electrical tape too
Does either end specifically have to go into the psu?
Yes
You can make magic smoke if you do the wrong end
(if you get cable extensions make sure tis got the right stuff)
i relinekd better ones
Yeah mine only has 2 8-pin as opposed to the ones with 3
yeah saves you on upgrade though
True
On a 3080 triple 8 isn't critical unless you plan to OC a lot
^
hmmm
Don’t think you wanna see where I’m at currently 💀
35$ seems worth for some good looking cables though
It’s ruf
Yeah for sure, the bad thing is that this case is smaller on the back side and the cables for my psu are THICC
I doubt it's worse than mine, if it wasn't glass it would be bowing out from how tight it is
oomf
Yee
So is my Torrent but I've just got so much stuff inside of it including several sata drives which adds to the disaster a lot
yeah ive got 2 sata drives and the hdd im considering to remove
i literally dont use it
I use my HDD still, even with my server handling most of my long term storage now
Currently I have more than 2TB of data on my system
lol
And that's after cleaning up games I don't play any more
I have a 2tb hdd and 1tb nvme but I wanna upgrade my nvme
I have my desktop, documents, and downloads redirected to E
That's actually 2 1TB sata drives in RAID 0 so I only put replaceable data on it lol
I think this board has 2 nvme slots?
I have another 6TB stored on my server not including my storage spaces backup 💀
my new board has 4, current has 2
nah, likely just a 2tb pcie4 drive
They’ve actually come down in price pretty significantly
That same drive like a year ago I stg was $500+
that’s 120$ more than my 11700k 💀
cod damn
i dorgot pcie4 drives are crazy
i just want direct storage lol
Gen 3 drives can do that
@languid nimbus since you rewiring can you do mine
I can ASSURE you that you don’t want me to hahaha
I'll just leave this here
https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-MP600-PCIe-Gen4-NVMe/dp/B0BJL1FRRC

Whatever you’re watching on tv looks a lil frisky
Dang, OOS, I was ab to order it
what to do with all this storage
Moar gamez
i installed like my almost my whole steam lib
I just need to win the lottery first
You could probably fit another 4 installs of CoD games before you run out of space
Damn I’m torn on whether to run the pcie over the top of the gpu or under it
I might TRY to fix it when i get 13600k
It’s lots and lots of fun 👍👍
Is it gen 3? And does it have a heatsink?
Yeah gen 3
Here’s the front so far, ignore the cpu I’m replacing the cooler 💀
Under the GPU will keep it cooler but the top slot will be slightly better latency
wow you have bottom hole
4090 comes into chat
Same thing
nothing will stay cool
Dang
Any amount of extra airflow over a device with no heatsink will keep it cooler, even if it's warm air
my top slot had heatsink on both side ssd but my other 3 slots are only heat sink on top
The top slot would be best in your case then
Yeah I’ll probably go top. Gotta figure out where to run the 8pins, through the side or the bottom
sadly i broke a screw in the ssd slot plus my ssd is 3.4 gen so i putg it in 3 gen
but really ikts running 3.2
@potent portal i mean can you put ssd in slot without screw if theres heatsink on it
If the heatsink is secured sure
Especially if there's an adhesive pad to hold the SSD to the heatsink
its starting to melt
The adhesive?
the black stuff to keep ssd cool
not melt
just weak?
like i went to take ssd out and ssd stock to it but when i ripped sdd off the black stff came with it
little bit
its just become unsticky
hmmmmmm
ahhhhhhhhhh
wym
like how are all the cables managed so well
yeah i got tht i just didnt understand
youre fine
spent like an hour on just cable management when i first got it
Sure but that's easier with a sata drive, a gen 4 nvme for $135 per TB is actually not a bad deal for the latest thing
I'm doing my first actual custom build by myself hopefully next weekend
yaaaaay
Gonna look like ass but idrc
oh
just take time on your cables
do it slow, i dont assume youre really in a rush
Ima try my best but I'm not gonna lose my mind over it, I'm not too worried about looks
The side panel closes? It's fine for me
Clc 280 comes with lga 1700 bracket, right?
If I get round to building and don't have the bracket I'd be upset lol
Aside from that I don't think I've anything else to worry about, unless mobo is dead from amazon warehouse
if not, email evga for a bracket, i dont think theyll just say no
I should check lol
should be fine, i doubt you got over a year old stock
Yeah fair
Question is do I just reuse my rmx 650, or just use the gt 850 I bought pre emptively
13600k+ 3060 ti either one would be fine
I'd use the gt 850
i say gt850, save the 650 for a spare build or resell it
Makes changes later easier
That's what I'm thinking, also easier bc rmx is in my current build
850 is a better unit too iiirc
Other nice thing is I have a spare 1660, so I can sell the pc as a whole without ram, and throw a spare ssd in
or buy a 40$ kit of ddr4 and sell it as a complete system for quite a bit
Gt is high pri B, best evga g_ unit that's a b tier
Yeah true
Rmx is one of the better A tiers, but either way it'll be the same experience with the 850 possibly being able to support gpu upgrade in a few years
def
Funny part is I got the 850 for less than the 650
i paid 30$ for my 650 g2, i dont regret it, ill definitely need to upgrade for a high end gpu in the future thouhg
650 was I think $60 on amazon, 850 was $50 off b stock
lol
i mean with my 7700k that'd be fine, considering its a 450w card at stock tdp
my 1080 on this unit has drawn 500w consistent before and it didnt care
I mean maybe, and g2 should be ae to handle the transients which I think are up to 600w
should be fine
but with 11700k id actually be pushing it
considering with oc it can draw like 200w
Depends on scenario, 1440p or 4k gaming would probably not go well
And if anyone buys that thing for 1080p, burn
I snagged an x27q for $170 after tax on prime day
I've been spending way too much money lately lol
$80 earbuds, $120 mobo, $170 monitor and soon to be $300 cpu
Just waiting for Friday
Nice thing about the monitor is it also gave my brother a huge upgrade
From 1050p60hz TN to 1440p 75hz ips
I would've given him my old main one but he draws a lot, so better panel quality is important for him
yeah
That one was $120 used, which imo I overpaid for but I was super hype about 1440p and stupid and didn't know a thing about refresh rates lol
lol
Was a very nice side monitor though
ahh mine was used
Yeah it's decent, but I also don't have another similar specced monitor to compare it to
The 1440p ips one looked a lot better, but idk if it was because of resolution or panel type
Linus did it on a 550W https://youtu.be/yU4CFhtS95Q?t=541

Nvidia's RTX 4090 is the new king of GPUs. It laughs at last generation ray tracing performance, it shrugs off the most demanding of games, it... reco...
the 4090 is not a super high power draw card for what it is
roman reported ou can cut power by 33% if you drag the power slider down to 60%
and you lose 7% perf total by doing that
Yeah fair, and it doesn't spike anywhere near as badly as high 30 series if I remember hearing right
330w or so
I still care more about to 7900xtx
amd has always been awful for me
I can understand that, but personally idc about nvidia vs amd
i just care about my user experience
Before launch I was expecting 40 series to do a good bit better than it is
nv cont panel may be ugly as balls, but at least it doesnt crash any time i open it
I didn't have any big issues when I had my 6800xt, which is the main reason I'm not concerned
Amd has been good this year
That was mostly pricing that was laughable, and I kept saying it was just early adopter fees. Lo and behold, it's cheaper already.
I still say wait for Zen4 3D
It's about 3 months away by now
Doesn't the 13600k contend with the 7700x at $100 less?
With cheaper mobo and ram options?
🤔
I do think zen 4 3d will be good, based on gains from 5800x vs 5800x3d
You can get a 7700X from microcenter and get free memory and $50 off a board
I wonder if they'll also be releasing other am4 3d chips, since they said am4 isn't dead yet
Or if it's just 6000 series apus
This is only speculation but I think only lower end stuff will be on AM4 due to platform limits, maybe a new gen APU
7800X3D and 7950X3D are the only confirmed so far
7600x isnt fast enough cpu wise to make an x3d variant tbh
13600k slaps it up and down for the same price
That would be technically difficult also since the disabled/cut cores means they need to cut the cache too
hell, the 12600k beats it
yall talking about these zen 4's and your ddr five's meanwhile im good with the best platform ever
Sure how much FPS you getting in games hmmm
Honestly it's probably fine for all but the latest stuff
Okay play cyberpunk in 4k
sorry i dont play scuffed games
*1080p
not really but ok

Fart
😃😁
Idle doesn't matter at all
maybe cuz I add enough thermal paste?
Max load temp matters
i idle at 99
You don't count

copped the 5800x for $199 yk 🦾
sometimes i idle at -196

LN2
other times -78.5
But yeah what's your temps under full load @zenith cargo
not the worst
dont make me roast you
Cinebench multi core is a good test
Fart
L
i hate you
single thread of a c2d
alright fight me nerdge
hello
idk, ill check
very new here
you dont say
@idle veldt buying a laptop perhaps?
||shush far||
there's an actual reason why i asked lol
Valorant, csgo, overwatch, cod, pretty much all the most common ones
sorry for ignoring not buying a pc
lol dont worry about it
lol
When are you planning to build
but yeah man i’ll shoot some questions when i need to!
probably in the next month
7900xt and co might be available by that point
We'll be here when you're ready
wow, what a friendly and welcoming mod. surely this individual is never mean to anyone for what platform they like
true nature exposed
I have question the mobos in your name what ram can they run
DDR3, DDR3/4, and DDR4 in order
That's pretty good
Ddr4 still relivent
poorly
only works right with A0 ddr4
The question was "what can it run" not "what can it run well" lol
ordered my first thing off newegg!!
You never did before? Banned
lol
i rarely order off newegg
trash
lemme show you what you shouldve gotten
fight me
Literally everything has the "potential" to be b-die
^
i mean i own it, and my kit is bdie, so im just hoping this is unbinned bdie as well
you wouldnt want to buy low-bin bdie either. because thats just rejects lol
my kit of it does 3200 1t shrug
Eh reject b-die still better than some average dies
my a0 bdie does 4000C12 1.8V i think
i havent run it on a new enough platform yet to actually confirm it though...
I haven't tested the max mine can do, I'm happy with 3800 14-13-13-30 1.48v
my rev.e hates anything past 3200
yea i bought the 4 dimms from brutus
Id bin my own memory but ddr4 too expensive
just decided to go for pre-binned
Is a gtx1050ti good for 60?
You'll need to be a bit more specific than that
I assume you mean 60 fps, 1080p? In what game? With what CPU?
I mean 60$
Usd
Yeah that's not a bad price
lol
Minecraft yes CoD no
Any gpu that get atleasg 60 fps
Warzone requires a 1650 minimum for 30 fps in 1080p
I found a 1660 ti for 110 and a ryzen 5 1400 for 50
1660ti for $110 is a good deal
grab that over the 1050ti
ryzen 5 1400 is pretty bad even for $50, avoid
get an i3-12100f if it's within your budget
3600 minimum I'd say, my 2700 barely kept up with my 1060 in some games and those are all CPU heavy games
12100 is another good one yeah
Easily
gigachad 12100 almost kept up with my 3090
1440p tho right?
1080p
Yeah I meant mushroom and the 3090
So I should buy the 1660ti and search for a different cpu?
Can u direct me to budget amd cpu?
i can't
they don't exist LOL
amd abandoned the budget market since 3000 series
just buy an i3-12100, brand loyalty is bad
Are you asking because you already have an AMD board for the CPU?
if he was looking at a zen 1 cpu, doubtful
Yeah
Used 3600 or a 5500
5500 🤢
How much should a used 3600 cost?
Basically the same chip lol
USA?
Yeh
90 max
5600
I have bad news...
was talking about i3/r3 market segment
$100 is the lowest on ebay lol
well your first mistake was looking on ebay
Fb, or offer up
a 3600 just sold for 90 including shipping on hws 25 minutes ago
https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap/comments/yo9qz3/usanj_h_ryzen_5_3600_cpu_wraith_stealth_cooler_w/ here's another one for $90 shipped
https://www.reddit.com/r/hardwareswap/comments/yo911i/usatx_h_ryzen_5_3600_w_local_cash_or_paypal/ 85 shipped
Might as well get the 5500 for $100 new, then it has a cooler and warranty
cpu warranty is pretty whatever
5500 loses to 3600 in general
and some of these listings include stock cooler
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/P4FKHx/silicon-power-sp016gxlzu320bdaj5-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr4-3200-cl16-memory-sp016gxlzu320bdaj5 get this instead
12100F + board vs 5600 + board they're within spitting distance of each other, doesn't matter if R3 or not
Like, $25 difference
$25 is pretty significant at this budget level
it's $28 right now assuming you pick the cheapest board that isn't complete ewaste
Idk where you're seeing this but from what I see it compares pretty well
I picked a b450 ds3h v2
hey, my buddy has a really old pc and is looking to build his own, but he is under the impression, building one is 2k plus.
I explained I built mine with a 3900x for $1500 and that you dont need 2 grand plus.
He plays VR games and is looking for a modern system. is there a good gaming build for around 1k or less?
not really worth it imo
that'll work out to $20-25 extra
for the same performance
just for a warranty on a part that pretty much never fails within 30 years
would someone be able to build him a list? I am not knowledgeable enough to help him out
USA?
yessir
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6750 XT, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
wow, thanks!
I should keep lists with parametric filters for these things...
I already made one for power supplies
what would be a nvidia equivalent to the 6750?
3070
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6G4Ytn close enough ig
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
if he's willing to go used, 3070s go for like 350 used
can save a lot
could get a 3080 at this budget if used
wonder why they drop value so much?
Mining died out
supply much larger than demand
Farms sold off to reclaim investments
