A single USB port can handle 127 devices as long as it doesn't have to power all of them
(255 per internal hub, 2 ports per hub typically)
So if I plug the majority into the powered hub I should be fine?
Yep
Ok Ty
Or keep the higher power draw stuff like controllers on the powered hub and low power stuff like flash drives on the non-powered
It’s all controllers and kb/mouse :/
Will that still work the way I have it in the pic?
Well wireless controllers will want 0.5A at least when charging, wired only ones are fine
How much do you guys think i could sell a pc with 9400 cpu and 6600 gpu for
And yes I am thinking of selling my pc
depending on the rest of the system
i think it goes for 600-700, maybe 750
600 would be more reasonable tho considering the cpu is 9400
It has 512gb nvme and 16gb ram
I could throw in 2tb hdd storage but it might have more value to me than to the overall build
I agree
Thanks for your input
Anybody know what combo i could use for mobo and CPU ? Rn im rocking wit a i5-10400 and a Asus prime but im tryna upgrade
Gpu?
Rx6600 and budget is around $450-500
Any reason you want to change it?
Those two should be pretty capable together rn, I would keep waiting until like, Intel's 13400/13500 comes out
Big big cpu power boost by doing that
Every time it’s a cpu based game my game crashes and then fps drops idk y so I’m thinking it has some to do wit the cpu
Game shouldn't crash if you have a cpu bottleneck something else is wrong with your system
Either it's overheating or something in windows is corrupt etc
I fixed windows like 2 days ago I factory reset
Run a cpu stress test like occt and download hwinfo64 and see what temps you're getting
Okay
I have the intel stock cooler
Temps are around 68-70
So should I just buy a aio with the money and thermal paste
?
no
$20 cooler might help tho
try downloading HWinfo64 and monitor your cpu with the sensors only section
oh right I wasn't reading the this
Okay but do you have some rgb fan recommendations cause my pc has no lights
The ram I’m running is 2933
I think
sure, arctic p12 argb or inwin sirius loops (latter is cheaper*)
@rugged burrow next time you crash run download and run whocrashed
Also assuming you mean cpu cooler, id cooling se 214xt
I had that one in my cart but then I took it off cause I thought it was bad since it wasn’t that expensive and instead I put the deep castle 360
you absolutely don't need a 360 aio on a 10400
that's like
dumping the ocean on a small fire
guys, I finally got the computer up and running but
a $20 cooler is more than enough for a 10400
Ik but since I have a Lian li with like 4 fans I was going to put the thing in there just for the looks
my computer is detecting hardware issues (like insufficient memory on minecraft when doing shaders, overwatch closing midgame, and warframe restarting and even redirecting me to a site about possible issues)
bit of a waste still
you can put that money aside for more ram or a far better cpu that can use it later when you upgrade
I was thinking of getting some Corsair vengeance rgb ones 3200
I wouldn't do vengeance 3200
Or some Teamgroup
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 has a high count of issues trying to run it's advertised speeds so I always steer people away from it
What motherboard do you have?
You might not be able to run anything over 2666
timings. like the 3200 bit, timings play a role* in the speed
roll?
Ah okay then 3200 will work
a sus
Although not really worth the upgrade from 2933
You got your ram sticks in slots 2 and 4 from left to right?
Yea
Hmm i would definitely wait til your next crash, then download and run whocrashed
https://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed
Then with this motherboard there’s a problem tho my m.2 slot doesn’t work
I have my ssd and hdd connected but my m.2 never pops up
Idk y
By crash i assume you mean pc crash and not the game? Because if it's the game then it's the games issue most likely
Yeah it’s the game
You formatted it in disk management?
It don’t even appear
My fps drops and it crashes my game
Then it's most likely the games problem or graphics drivers
It’s like that for Fortnite and Val only tho
I had to put my settings down for both and they still drop badly
You tried repairing the games?
Yup
What gpu you got?
By repairing u mean uninstalling and reinstalling?
6600
That works too ye
Hmm
Tried ddu?
!ddu
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Ima try that when I turn my pc on
Then yeah I’ve done it
Are up here fans good to or naw ?
I can't remember
Okay
Yes it's a great 1080p card, could probably do 1440p okay too in most things
ight👍🏼
should I install this one or ;0
Ye
R7 5700U is better than a r5 5600, yes?
No the U is a low power laptop chip
But for a laptop would it be as good or better in comparison?
Looking for a comparison to performance
So you're comparing laptop to laptop?
In that case are you comparing to the 5600U or 5600H?
Yeah there's no laptop 5600 non h or u, and if you're comparing to desktop, it will always win because more power is possible
At any rate you probably want to look at this. All the laptop chips fall way short of the desktop 5600. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/4274vs4156vs4284vs4811/AMD-Ryzen-5-5600H-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-5700U-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-5600U-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-5600
Remember that the U ones are 15W low power models and the H are the higher performing ones
Bro, I just heard about Philips(the brand) new gaming line Evnia. Thier flagship monitor will cost $2000
Same thing, noones gonna scalp monitors
Nope
32" ultrawide curved
Now if it was 48" and 8k...maybe
But for $2000 I could buy a 8k tv
Any idea of what kind of panel tech they are gunna be using?
Ah it’s a oled panel, that’s why the price is so high
Similar panels are around 1500+ and they are probably sourcing from someone else
It's Corsair branding lol
Pretty much, or asus
Yee
I was gonna run Asus, but I liked LGs pricing better
I swapped one of my 24" 1080p LGs for a 27" Samsung G5 Odessy 1440p curved monitors
I wanna do the same to my second one now
Typically the best priced monitors are gunna be the producers of the panels, like lg and Samsung for the super highend gigabyte is makeing their own 2 (could be wrong on that don’t rlly rmbr just rmbr they are bgr and not rgb)
My panels just don't like up properly lol
having the same issue the chin of my monitors aren’t the same size
My 1080p LG is dedicated as my movie monitor
A longer desk would probably help too....
Ah 2 mounts gotchya

Lol
Alienware has a qd oled but for like 600$ less
I think everyone has an OLED for less
Yeah I think the margins on qd is quite a bit better 2
I'm thinking it's because it's a "NEW" "GAMING" brand
The price is just to hype it up
Oh it definitely is, it always is. Easy bandwagon to hop on just following the gaming trend and hoping for some whales
Gaming brand hype+new brand hype=Overpriced POS
It’s a lot of testing the market to see how well it sells, if it sells pretty well then mission success lower the prices a bit blah blah blah
Higher prices to start so you don’t take too much of a hit on margins
But there is a such thing as too high
For example
My work sells those to guests for $4 each
32 oz for $4
Depends on what kinda compatibility it’s has with existing products and if it has any “new features” there will always be great value products but some people just throw cash at niche issues
Also cookie dough Ben and Jerry’s is bomb af
I would simply rather starve
Is it worth $4 for 32oz though?
Brownie far better
Yeah Ben and Jerry’s is a staple of high end dessert dining
Keep in mind
We're right across from two gas stations that sell the same ice cream, just bigger tubs
For the same price
Convenience is a incredible selling point
Could buy pc hardware on Craigslist for pretty dang cheap but you take a risk of injury and lack of convenience

We also sell the frozen microwave dinners at $8 each
Oi. Why you taking pics of my work?
I bought a $250 trio bundle of hardware for $50 on Craigslist. They came to me and everything works. There is some gold to be had.
Yeah fr lol
Lol
Who's gonna walk that if it's lashing rain tho smh
Id do anything for food
You underestimate the hunger that overpowers people.
You underestimate the laziness that overpowers people, especially when there's food without leaving the building
Speaking from experience? ;)
Just a lil bit
I wouldn't usually pay 4$ for an ice-cream that small but in certain scenarios maybe
All from Amazon.de?
i would swap for 5600
That's what I'm thinking yeah
Yea and u could spend a lil less or ram
Probably better psu for the price or similar one for cheaper too
yeah
Lemme see what's available
okay
Budget of roughly 1050€?
yea around 1k€
Okay 1 sec
can be little bit more
@jagged brook you need wifi?
wdym
Do you need wifi?
Like does your computer need wifi or Bluetooth or will you be using wired ethernet
Ye
yea sure
You willing to pay more for it though?
For the ram it'll cost an extra 20€ but lemme see if it will make difference overall
@jagged brook imo if you don't mind spending 1075

Would lian li strimer triple 8 pin work on aorus 3070 ti master GPU? Cause I know that GPU has 2x8pin and 1x6 pin
The lian li triple 8pin strimer is not 3x6+2. They are 3x8 so you can plug in 2 of them, but will need a separate 6 pin.
@obsidian wigeon
Hello y'all my pc is experiencing issues again. After like 3 or 4 days my pc would just black screen after turning on. I see the cpu light on my motherboard but after I force it to shut down and turn it back on it is fine.
Is this a cpu problem, should I do an rma with amd?
You might try reseating your CPU.
should i get rx 6700 or rx 6700 xt
Is your bios up to date? I've seen the board be the cause of similar things
My case finally arrived.
#build-pics message
@potent portal
I just ran mc at max graphics
The coil whine is screaming
Should I return
yeah it'll do that. If you want, you might be able to RMA the card
swapping it out for different card
Would that fix it?
Also is coil whine rare
Bc I don't wanna return it
And get one with worse whine
Chances of that are very very low if its loud whine
I usually get low whine
Also
I got it from newegg
And newegg isn't selling anymore
you would contact the manufacturer and see if they will swap it
Ok
Well that's weird
It's only mc
Wait I'll send a pic
Loke
Like
I just ran a stress test
probably high fps
And no coil whibe
Why would higher fps do that
I mean I do get like 400 fps
not sure the specifics but higher fps makes it louder usually
So how long would a new one take to arrive
Also so if I switched the card
What is the chance of any coil whine at all
for an RMA they would send you one and then after you recive it you ship the old one
Ok
But what if the new one has coil whibe
Whine
Bc I have a red devil rx 6800 xt
So should I return?
coil whine is normal
But mine is like a loud squeak when I go on mc
oh nah that’s not normal
Or should I say the server page
actually, try limiting your frame rate in your GPU drivers
Ok
I get really quiet coil whine all the time too
Yup only when I set the fps to unlimited it whines
Also
How long of a warranty do GPUs usually come with
Looks like a have a little time
Also I could also undervolt my gpu if it's really bad
Right?
Ok
I don't like coil whine at all though
Do you have coil whine?
Yeah
Ok
But if I can hear it
Should I just undervolt
Brb
Ok
Back
Should I undervolt if it's really bad?
Also do you know any really good noise cancelling headphones
I have razer
They are decent but not the best
Ok
Just think about this: deaf people don't know if they have coil whine and never will
Alr ty
Ok
Ok
How am I getting 250 fps on gta
I mentioned before, it can get louder when you're at very high fps. Turn on vsync and it might help.
Ok
wait my gigabyte b550m d3sh mobo on the box says its ryzen 5000 ready, does that mean i dont have to update bios?
ryzen 5600
not all ryzen 5000 work out of the box
wdym
5600 is one of those, needs a bios update to work
No my x570 from Asus was ready right out of the box
oh
I have the same cpu btw
probably a newer one shipped with a newer bios
Expert
oh ok imma just contact gigabyte just to be sure
like yesterday
flash a new bios and just go from there man
wdym by that
set it up try boot it if no work then update bios
ok ok it just wont boot up right if not right bios?
ok
That's what my parents said when they dropped me and look how I turned out

...
Yes
i need my psu and then i can build my pc
it was supposed to come today but its not even shipped yet 💀
you could honestly do all the rest before the psu if you want
how can i do that?
just run the psu cables last and install the psu later
yea the problem with that is i dont trust myself and think i will mess up
but idk why my psu is delayed for so long
they change the date from like today to saturday
Where did u get it from
amazon
it hasnt like shipped yet i orderd it last wednesday
it said it was supposed to come before today
taxes
Where u live
mhm 10% tax goes crazy
That like 7.25% makes me wanna die
its 10% for me
Nice
yea...
Also never listen to me I'm the guy that bought a pc but no monitor
I have a 1080p Dell now
nice what hertz
Better then nothing
yea
oh ok
Please don't cuss me out
lmfao my monitor also bad
you know what you must do 💀
i have a acer 75 hrtz and then my new pc gonna be getting hella fps
Get a job
144 so expensive
we're soon in the realm where basic iGPU's will be good for 1080p 60hz
it already is
not entirely, 680m still doesn't hit high settings
i brought my laptop like 2 years ago for 300$ and i get 80 fps average in valorant
My unpopular opinion is
oh
gn
my pc has been giving me alot of issues lately.
its getting worrying as I built this pc and havent even had it 2 years yet, however my prebuilt lasted 5 years before dying.
I am assuming it is my graphics card as I get graphics driver errors and even a boot error led for vga.
ocationally it will drop my second monitor and set windows to this screen only instead of extend.
the graphics card has had a power surge when my pc (unbeknownced to me, wasnt a proper psu)
I have gotten, system_server_exception BSODs, I am probably being senile, but I am afraid if it continues to crash and crash and crash, it will damage/corrupt things.
ever since I have moved it from the old pc to this one, which ever screen has anything as strong as youtube or higher, the screen will randomly blackscreen for a few and back on.
any ideas?
its a 1060 3gb card. I pulled it from the old system as the time of this build was when gpus were insane for price. and since, I havent been able to come up with the money for a new card.
I have some things in the works and that may change, but until then. any fixes?
also on the side, I need a cheap reliable stream pc as I want to get back into streaming. if someone could help me with a pcpartpicker
If I were to buy a new Win 10 Pro key right now, and redeem it on a new build, will I still be eligible for a free Win 11 upgrade some time in the future?
Is there like a hard date when this will end?
Thanks
Does anyone got a budget build list for around 1500 aud?
Was thrown together quickly on mobile so might not be perfect https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/qx3Tqm
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
Better than what the dude was gonna buy
Good afternoon, I want to upgrade my pc. I need a motherboard a gpu and a cpu options that work together Smoothly and run max settings on any game. Budge doesn't Matter i just need options and what components work with others to avoid any bottlenecks. It would be much appreciated. Thanks
If budget doesn't matter get a 13900k with a z790 godlike and a 4090
Okay sounds good. Is there any other options as well. Im looking to go to AMD for cpu and gpu. Also i can tell you what i have. All im looking for is max out all settings and having more than 200 fps while playing any game. Atm i have rx580 msi. Intel core i5. Asus b250 ma motherboard. 165hz 1080p monitor.
My PC has a lot of random crashes and like lags when I stream on twitch or even discord
I have a relatively good PC as well so idk why
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower
This is my PC, not sure if peripherals might affect it
Decent system and sounds like it could be driver issues
Also streaming requires a really good connection
5700xt notorious for driver issues
My bios is not up to date sorry this is so late.
I really want that to be my last result I'm terrified of doing something wrong to my pc.
My last motherboard had a similar problem on an older bios version but it was fixed after an update. I highly recommend updating.
Yes, I keep them up to date every time one comes out.
No studio drivers, game ready drives.
My 3 brothers have the same PCs, I build all of them, mine gpu is the only one with the issue but my graphics card barely survived a surge in the last pc. All 4 PCs have 1060 3gb
it might just be an old card. my supervisor got a 1050 Ti from a friend. it was also having issues. my RX 480 (from around the same era as the 1050 Ti and 1060) has also been having issues
but I would try DDU in safe mode and reinstall just to be sure
if not, then maybe something in the BIOS that doesn’t like playing with PCIe. I think there are PCIe settings in some BIOS firmwares (if not, maybe just a BIOS update would maybe work)
but that’s all I can think of
Yeah but the weird thing is that I have a really good connection. Its like gig down 400 up
I've heard that but I'm using like the recommended drivers and everything so I'm not sure what could be causing it
Unless they're still just that bad
and if there was something I should upgrade to be able to stream, what would it be?
Or would I be better off selling this and buying a new system
I figured maybe that would be the case but before I go digging around. The issue only started in the last 3-4 months after it has been in use about a year and a half.
The mobo is the b550 msi tomahawk
Does the MSI MPG Z590 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1200 Motherboard support a E typed m.2 pcie wifi card
With AMD for GPU's recommended isn't always good that is why they include optional
Yeah I tried the optional and it seemed the exact same if not worse ngl. Could other drivers do stuff? I havent really changed any drivers besides GPU since I built it like 2.5 years ago
Check your bios if it is up to date
I have not changed those since I got my PC lol
You mean updated?
Yeah
Does it need a flash drive?
I think I didn't wanna just cause I couldnt find one 😭
You can use a flash drive to update it
Some MB companies does allow to start the update in the OS and then restart into the bios but no idea what MB company you're using
It's MSI I think
Are bios important?? I have some from 2020 I think
And is there a video tutorial you'd recommend?
If that's possible
It is important for certain things to work well
Lets take bearded msi board as an example which there is an update here for windows 11 support
Or this one as an example for better memory compatibility
Oh
I'm on windows 11 lol
And I don't think I have that one
Is there a place I can check?
I am using his board as an example
Very, it's only the connection point of everything to everything
You'd have to go on your MB manufacture to find out and also without restarting your system you can do this https://youtu.be/elt1QaaoEhQ
How to Check BIOS Version in Windows 11
systeminfo | findstr /I /c:bios
Imma get a flash drive and update my bios lol thanks for the help y'al
Find out what version you're on first
If you can grab a screenshot of the main bios page you can find out very quickly and we can link the latest version for your model
I know my MB and everything
I was active here like 2 years ago but once I got my PC fully working I thought it was a waste of time lmao
I built my pc but I probably did something wrong cause I was pretty dumb
@ripe spear@potent portal
That seems to be my bios lol
Anyone can recommend me a good gaming monitor for 4k maybe 144hz or more I own a Samsung odyssey g7a something it’s 4k 144hz and it’s just bad in every way bad colors tried calibrating it a lot I can’t get accurate colors it looks washed out
Only 3 years out of date lol. Lots of fixes have been done in that time.
no but I can recommend you getting a 5080ti, leaks are good 👀
Sadly not all of the Odyssey line are good. Maybe half of them are, and they're not worth what they cost. I'll dig up a couple recommendations.
What features do you need specifically?
And what budget?
2k is fine maybe or 1k
Yeah haha 😆 I just needa find a flash drive IG
I just want good colors and hdr not dark spots
Mostly watch movies in 4k and game at 4k I have a 3080ti 5950x
Ok so you probably want OLED, what size?
28 is fine
144hz or 240
Just something good no problems like that bad odyssey bad experiences
I tried every setting possible it just looks washed out
Still new too has the plastic tape and stuff on it
That sounds like one of the bad models, they used a cheap backlight
It is I sent it twice for repair first time they said they fixed it run a full test all good lol came back to me same problems second time they said they did a complete lcd screen replacement lol
And same thing wasn’t even replaced
It has dead pixels dark spots screen is just hello
Yellow
They lying to me they didn’t change anything
Not a single screw looks scratched
This one looks like it'll fit your needs. 4k, good HDR, good out of the box color accuracy, 160Hz, 27".
OLED would be ideal but those start around 40".
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gp950-b
I'd hate to recommend another Odyssey after your experience but these Neos are great for HDR gaming.

let me check it if you have more do send it to me plz i will ready every word
Here's a more complete list including relative ratings of each for the categories you mentioned.
thank you so much i will look at them now
what does Low contrast and poor black uniformity. mean
i guess they all have their pros and cons which really confuses me as to what to go with they all really great monitors like the features in them
unless you're picky about certain things, any of the highly rated monitors will work great for you
gotcha and yes i am sorta picky
what do you think of this one https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/gigabyte/m28u
Contrast ratio refers to the difference between the brightest white and darkest black on the screen at the same time. Black uniformity refers to how even the blacks look, and is mostly affected by the backlight. Both of these are weaknesses of the IPS panel type, and OLED excels at almost everything except brightness but they're typically much larger.
ohh i see that explains it
should buy LG 27GP950-B
do you recommend a better option
The LG 27GP950-B is an impressive gaming monitor, and one of the few currently available that support HDMI 2.1, making it an especially great choice for console gamers. It doesn't stand out much for PC gamers, though, so if you're not interested in console gaming, there are better choices available.
man i have a headache from reading lol
could someone help me out a bit here?
I have browsed pc part picker for lists and havent found really anything close to what I am looking for.
I want to build a stream pc to throw a capture card in, stream 720p
some of the streaming builds I did look at, all have 30 series cards. as far as I am aware, as it is for just streaming. from my gaming pc. it doesnt need a high end gpu, or one at all if it has IGPU correct?
could someone make a part list for me?
Im not worried about looks, it wont be shown off or anything like that. I dont even have RGB in my pc.
Personally given a budget like yours I'd go with the Neo G8. It's a little bigger than you asked for but it's got everything you want and more for $1300.
problem is desk isnt too big
its a secret lab desk the 800 one
this Samsung one i have already taken half lol
Well finding 4k at 27", especially good ones, is a bit of a challenge. The really good ones start at 32" which is much more reasonable of a size for 4k anyway.
Unless you're only a few inches from the screen the human eye can't tell the difference between 1440p and 4k at that 27" size anyway.
yeah i understand i guess i will keep reading but if you were to say buy this i would no problem but which one do you recommend mostly at a 28 or something
i can make room i think get rid of the boom arm speakers
If you want to stick to 27-28" then I'd go with the LG or the M28U
The M28U has great color calibration out of the box
lg it is i don't see any other options really lol reddit people seem to say worth it
those streaming builds are probably meant for both playing games and streaming off of at the same time
i guess there is no perfect monitor out there that doesn't have cons
Correct, some features are mutually exclusive just based on currently available tech. You can't have better of one thing without sacrificing something else.
They're working on smaller size OLED right now which is the current best type, but it's at least a year away. They just put out a 13" one.
ohh thats cool but i might just buy this i will do some more readings after lol this is kinda hard
but i made up my mind i think
indeed man
now they saying it has a glow in the corner
LG 27GP950 Backlight Bleed Battlefield 5
That'll vary by sample, backlights are rather inconsistent
this from reddit
ughh i hate monitors lol i need or make my own but no experience invite people ask them what they want and build it based on their answers
Some people that actually do have the skills have tried that with mixed results
Firmware especially is a difficult thing with monitors, it can take a dedicated team just for that
yeah i see i didn't finish my coding courses left mid way lol
I figured as much, is it true a stream pc doesnt need dedicated gpu?
I know next to nothing about stream PCs
ah.
All i do know is that with newer hardware a separate stream PC often isn't necessary
im trying to find just a budget build to get me back into it at 720p as the internet isnt the best here. then after I get the office setup a few months down the road. ill upgrade the stream pc. so just trying to find something cheap for now
Do you mean one that's a separate PC from the gaming rig that controls the stream in case the game/PC crashes?
yeah, a 2pc setup
I already have a gaming rig
and I if I need a gpu, I do have a rx 570 in a box somewhere. but I cant stand amd gpus. the drivers always give me issues
You could get away with using an Intel iGPU for 720p sure
It would have to be a fairly recent, midrange one though
Like the one on the 11500
I want to upgrade ssd to a wd black sn850x 2tb on a predator 300 315 55 95ns laptop will it fit
Which predator 300? Triton or Helios?
how does something like this look?

yes. I am aware the case is a bit much and that power supply is maybe a little over the top. I plan on keeping those once I do upgrade the machine
This PSU has been on great sales lately https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SL9NFVS
The fully modular Toughpower GF1 series is available in 650W - 850W models and built to deliver 80 PLUS Gold efficiency. The series features a 140mm hydraulic bearing fan, Japanese capacitors and other premium components to help deliver a continuous and stable power with an ambient temperature up...
pcpp shows out of stock but it's in stock
What's the difference between Japanese capacitors and American ones?
Why are those so special?
it's basically just marketing at this point
They generally are much higher quality.
These are all great capacitor brands.
Many of them are Japanese.
Typically Japanese caps are rated for 105-110C and cheaper ones are rated 95C. It can affect the life span of the capacitor but not in any meaningful way, you'll upgrade long before it's a problem.
It's less "buy this because it's Japanese", it's more "buy this because it's higher quality and rated for 105c"
only freesync in stock
in amazon
i will probably go with the LG one they did say there are better options you see real 4k when you buy a 32inch
don't they have one 32inc for that LG or something else
Modern Freesync is Gsync, they're cross compatible
Oh really
So the one on Amazon it says only freesync does it have both or it’s a different model
There is no true gsync anymore. The required module for that caused the monitors to fail idle power certification for sale in several states. Gsync now just means "nvidia is fairly sure it'll work with the freesync". Lack of the gsync branding only means nvidia didn't test it.
Uhhh I see
@brittle tinsel Be aware, the ROG riser is built to the 3.0 specifications.
bruh why is my ram usage high on id;e
idle*
44% 💀
I barely have anything running
Still plenty for any GPU that's currently out even a 4090.
Also why a 10 day later reply? 💀
Define "barely anything", something like a browser would use a lot
Have you heard of the 'Ten day waiting period?'
tf is a rog riser? I think you may have pinged the wrong person
whats a good cheap power supply that meets the needs of this build? im not looking for one that has room for upgrades. just fits the needs of this system and then I can worry about the rest later.

xpg pylon 450w
are those safe? the psu I had in my last system all most caused a house fire. fortnately I had just got home and sat down when sparks started flying
it's a decent PSU, it should be safe
alright, thanks!
Are any 1200w 3.0 PSUs out yet?
@brittle tinsel CX450 is good too https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Q7L7YJ/corsair-cx-2017-450w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-cp-9020120-na
you don't need 3.0 native. It's just a plug
You also don't need 1200W even when overclocking
they also cost a fair bit more from what I've seen
4090 doesn't spike nearly as bad as the 3090 did
the platform and draw are still the same, it's just a different plug
like an american wall plug compared to a european one
Figured I'd future proof and just get like a 1200w 3.0 and kinda like reuse it for 5 years or so.
adapters will do fine
just not the nvidia one
in fact, I trust custom adapter solutions for bending more than the native 12vhpwr connector
Well there is this one but OOS https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-toughpower-gf3-series-ps-tpd-1200fnfagu-4-1200w/p/N82E16817153436
you also have msi Aip
but expensive af
I can get 2 equally good 1650W's for one 1300W MSI
"Future Proof" isn't a good reason btw. It's not possible for the 3.0 connector to draw more than 600W.
I am gonna stick with 3.0. now are there any issues with that thermaltake PSU cause for $30 more I'd get that over the MSI A1000 3.0 PSU.
Nothing bad I've heard, they had the GF3 already and just added a 12+4 plug to it.
Ahh gotcha.
there are corsair power supplies that are ATX 2.0 that are better performing with an adapter than ATX 3.0 PSUs
Corsair adapter is out right? It was the super thick gauge one with 2x8 to 12+4 right?
I mean that's just dependent on the PSU
ye it's out of stock all over the place tho
AX1600i beats everything
ye
to me 3.0 isn't worth investing in. It's just a plug and they seem to charge extra just for a plug
AMD won't even be using it. They can still get away with a dual 8 pin on their 350W 7900 XT.
I'd rather go 3.0 with extra wattage for the headroom and just be safe then sorry.
I've seen a 3x8 so I'm not convinced that it's a 2x8 necessarily yet
Oh I'm sure it's triple 8 but they CAN do dual, the triple is just for overclocking room
again, it's just a plug. no extra safety, no extra headroom
it's just a plug
it's like the difference between usb c and usb a
The plug also offers communication between GPU to PSU doesn't it?
Sort of but not really
not really no
All the extra 4 pins do is announce the wire exists and how much power it's rated for
sense pins are preconfigured so not really any communication, it can also be modded for an invalid power amount
Hmmm.
Yeah I find that rather amusing. It's easy to jump a pin and turn a 300W into a a 600W
yeah, it's a deterrent but nothing stopping someone from still bypassing it
shunt mod 2.0
lol true

$40 more for a plug
a good adapter will cost less than that
you could even do a sleeved adapter which would look better if you know where to look
well.....
Well what? You want to get technical don't you?
Most people don't put kW vbios on a 3090 while running a 13900k at 400W
well...
case study: forky
probably near 1000w from just quad opteron and all the ddr3 dimms
You guys are certain there aren't any cable concerns with a 2.0 PSU?
the concern comes from the adapter
bad adapter? things go bad
Wouldn't a 3,0 psu solve that then?
for a normal person no'
Certain ones appear to have bad quality control and design but most are fine
It's mostly the early adopters that are having issues, that got the first run of cables that are extra fragile. Jay tested one and tried his hardest to melt it and couldn't.
its like spend 40$ on a psu with the connector
or
spend 20$ on a decent adapter
only truly bad adapter we've seen is the nvidia one. Bequiets 12vhpwr iirc comes loose very easily too and that's native
the best adapter is probably the corsair one but that's for corsair psu's
I saw that vid.
I mean if it avoids the clutter and most importantly risk of getting a bad adapter I'd rather pay a premium and be safe then risk being sorry.
the 3.0 native isn't totally safe either tho
There's adapter cables that don't have any clutter at all because they plug straight into the PSU
Corsair for example
2.0 is arguably more safer in the current execution than 3.0 due to 2.0's redundancy
3.0 will eventually be safer, but not rn
Yeah we're very much in the growing pains phase of new tech
Thanks nvidia for solving a problem that wasn't a problem until you made it one
cable go melt
We already know this issue, but they demonstrate it even on the PSU side that it's just not a good idea to flex it
that's the adapter tho
ye
hmmm.
It's A problem but not necessarily THE problem, true cause is still under investigation
Is the flex as big as problem on 3.0?
nope
No*
hm, whelp
not as bad as specifically the nvidia adapter
custom adapters we haven't heard reports of issues yet
hell I'm seeing people mod their own and they do a better job
lol
it's true tho lol
with peaks better than 3090/3090ti im surprised they went with this route
coulda still use 3x8 pin
easily
nvidia's oem did such a cockamamy rig of it it's actually garbage
Some of them we have actually, there's many reddit threads
what are good budget pc fans with rgb

Searching
like they mention cablemod's instructions there but I haven't actually seen a cablemod one burn up yet
1,719 votes and 77 comments so far on Reddit
Oh actually they have a whole megathread now https://new.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/ydh1mh/16_pins_adapter_megathread
yeah I'm looking at the megathread
ah
@potent portal they were using a zalman psu with a corsair adapter
that might count for something there...lol
fail
Although maybe zalman uses the same design as the corsair type 4
they might but also, pinouts the wrong way could definitely give off high heat or resistance
or more importantly kill the card but anyway
SCP will keep it from being permanently damaged (hopefully)
so cablemod said there that they don't offer any support officially for Zalman
that's a false positive then
Zalman sounds sus
Found this 32inch
2 reviews on Amazon
Read the description it almost convinced me lol but I will need to look it up on see if people recommend this or not
With two whole Amazon reviews? I dunno about that one chief
But rtings.com will help
Btw, Asus ROG monitors, are usually overpriced
And this is coming from an Asus fan
Anyone know if the intel B560 motherboard is compatible with any of the i7/i9 processors?
What case would y'all recommend to fit a 3080 with an aio in that not insanely expensive so i can do a second build in to move my old pc parts
Yes. 10th and 11th gen cpus. As far as overclocking those cpus.. I don't believe so. You can however overclock the RAM.
Define what is insanely expensive to you. I myself would suggest a Corsair 4000D Airflow.
Thank you, still debating if I wanna upgrade to Ryzen 9 cpu or stick with the current motherboard and just get a i9
what gen ryzen 9?
4th gen
how come?
7900x?
Also what's the current mobo
Oh b560
I would suggest going 13th gen if you're going to upgrade, am5 isn't worth it
I almost wanna say if, going for a new build, to just go 13th gen
Or waiting for am5 x3d
What Bacca said XD
For case, 4000d/5000d airflow, g360a, p500a, deep cool whatever it is 560
I can wait for 13th gen
Pretty much any lian li case that has a mesh front and isn't over $150
It's alr out
If you're gaming, I would go for the 13600k or 13700k
The 13900k is maybe 3% better in gaming than the 13600k, not worth the jump
I just upgraded to the kraken z73 liquid cooler too
13600k fine for a 4090 at 1440p
You alr buy it?
If not, Lian li galahad or lf2 better and cheaper
Yea, but haven’t opened it
$280
Personally I would
On Amazon
Lian li galahad is a bit more than half the price
And performs better
Just no lcd screen
Assuming you want white anyways
Liquid freezer ii is even cheaper and better
Thanks neo
I did only get it cause if the lcd screen lol
I would return it and get a Lian Li Galahad.
Especially since you have not opened it yet. Save yourself a few bucks to put towards something else in your system
Or deepcool ls720

Although I like the y 60 case
Galahad looks noice. Especially white
H7 flow with the toilet bowl?
Yea I meant the lian li lol
Oh sorry I don't pay attention to Nzxt lol
Toilet bowl fun if you spill water in it
you ever dumped a 5 gallon bucket of water into your toilet bowl?
serious question
Uh, no
I ain't ever taken a dump of that volume
I think I might die
But yeah I haven't thrown 5 gallons of water in
If you pour it into the bowl fast enough.. your toilet will flush itself lol
well yeah. I guess I didn't mean a full 5 gallon bucket.
I’m curious everyone prefer intel or ryzen? And why?
Intel just for better value
Neither, just at this point intel has better price/perf
If the next time I'm buying a cpu amd is better value, I'll buy an amd cpu
They all lyin. We are all Intel Shills here.

Only @frank stirrup shills AMD.
It's ok though because he's wrong.
Will Newegg's pc build help me assemble my computer?
CLEARLY SUPERIOR
Newegg used to offer to put the PC together for $100 if you bought a whole builds worth of parts.
That service was discontinued last I checked
Unable to find the correct model
1 of 2 things.
- They haven't gotten it to test it.
- It's crap so they didn't bother testing it.
I'm gonna go with 2.
Yes probably I couldn’t find the correct model it’s just those idk they don’t have that model
Even in google they don’t have the full model name listed lol
I found it in other site
It’s like they getting paid to say best a lot
ABS
Reddit people seem to have problems with it
Man idk what to do every monitor review I read has many problems
@earnest olive nzxt is good now so buy it
Hi! I need help with my pc build. I just built a pc for the first time and tried installing windows, however after realized that my pc does not seem to be finding any wifi networks, and I also don't have any access to ethernet. I tried getting a USB wifi adapter, but that doesn't seem to work as I need to install the driver, which I can't do without setting up my windows. What do I do so I can use wifi on my pc and finish setting it up?
Still a pretty expensive case especially with no RGB fans.
Then again near Fractal Torrent performance for that price.
I need to watch the GN video still.
download the drivers on your phone then plug phone into the pc and transfer the drivers over then install. OR plug your phoine into PC and turn on tethering to give your PC internet and then install the drivers.
idk if I can use my phone but i tried downloading the driver on an external hard drive and that didn't work
did you really just send the same question twice 12 minutes apart
I/O sad in my opinion.
It's just so nice to have multiple USB type A ports on the front panel
try using your phone.
It's "okay"
But all there H5 cases came like that only way to get 2 USB is with h710 or H7
Well that's still like 155+ at that point since it's what a $95 case plus $60 in fans
Hey how does 4 x 4669 v3 compare to a 5950x? Considering the price which is a better buy?
For what workload?
And do you care how much power it uses? Because 4x E5 will use about 5x the power at full load
Yeah well under $100 you're looking at a GT 1030 at best
Not gonna be able to find those for 100$ new
... and that's not 100
Yeahhhh
Is there any more context to this?
If it's like a 600$ build you can probably get more budget to the GPU
Could get an A380 for $140
Programming and compiling. Simulations etc and 3d rendering. Power isn’t a concern, how do they compare in raw calculations?
Acxtually
someone make a 600$ build for this man lol
ima tell him to sell his 2013 pc
for like 450-500
I also have a 2013
but his is a Acer 💀
There's a $210 3060 rn
Multiply the E5 score by about 3.5 for a quad socket. It doesn't scale perfectly, and the programs MUST be NUMA-aware to use more than one physical socket. Single core the 5950X will win no matter what.
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/2678vs3862/Intel-Xeon-E5-4669-v3-vs-AMD-Ryzen-9-5950X
If someone would make this dude a $600 part list I would appreciate that. Its strictly for gaming
ill be back here for myself in like 2 more weeks for a $1800 build for me
@floral path I assume you'd be using a prebuilt system if you went for the quad socket xeon setup like a rackmount?
Yeah the Hp Proliant line
four of those chips would easily beat a 5950X in multicore, so if that's primarily what you need, and dont care about power but just compute performance, i'd say go for it. Used LGA2011-3 quad socket servers might be a little pricey though. I havent checked their pricing in a while
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cNyJGL
GPU is a placeholder, grab this while it's in stock

PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, GeForce RTX 3060, Deepcool MATREXX 40 3FS MicroATX Mid Tower
Last thing the system cost as much as the 13900k Raptor Lake. Would it still be a better purchase there?
which system? and are you saying it costs as much as a 13900k alone? im confused by your wording
mb dont go for those FC servers
Hp Proliant full build 4 x Xeons. Or 13900k? Are the latest cpu doing anything different that would make them better then 4 cpus?
the xeons destroy the 13900k and 5950x in raw multicore performance
ill send it to him
Thank you
Those quad socket lga2011-3 proliants are pretty overpriced though
consider a used cpu/mobo or case if you need to lower the price further 👍
Awesome!
Not trying to stay under 150
anyone think they could help me get my graphics card in my pc?
like install it?
yeah nvm i couldnt figure out how to remove the panel that blocks the hdmi plugin
i got it though
can someone explain this to me plz
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 is a fantastic gaming monitor with a bunch of features and the 4k resolution and 240Hz refresh rate make it future-proof once high-frame-rate 4k games are available. It has better local dimming than most monitors and it delivers a satisfying HDR experience. However, there are too many issues for a premium monitor, so if you're willing to sacrifice picture quality for a worry-free gaming experience
this part
However, there are too many issues for a premium monitor, so if you're willing to sacrifice picture quality for a worry-free gaming experience
is it saying bad picture quality in normal use and in gaming good
hello everyone
im in need of a build at $50,000 MXN (about 2.5K usd). high fps in titles like apex, fortnite, call of duty, etc.
it needs to be able to include monitor, keyboard and mouse
and ship to mexico city
unless you know you'll be buying the next greatest graphics card in 2 years or more likely 4 years to use a monitor like that, I wouldn't bother
4K at 32" doesn't make a lot of sense outside of productivity
were it me? I'd wait for a sale on the Gigabyte FV43U, it can go as low as $700
big 43" with a KVM, QLED
or alternatively go with M32Q/Q-P/Q-X
is it good in picture quality or hdr games movies
more importantly do you have the system to run that sort of thing
i have a 5950x and a 3080 ti
not enough
4K60 you could do quite well
but not 240Hz
not even a 4090 could realistically achieve that in a large majority of games
doesn't have to be that much it can be 144hz or 165
ya well FV43U is 144Hz and much bigger
and cheaper
it's a bit steep for a 3080 Ti tho
i ready many reviews on rting site I'm overwhelmed lol
I would rather a 1440p screen for 3080Ti
i have a 1080p and 1440p and a 4k
but bad
idk whats wrong with it
looking for a better one
its this one
Take the fight to any gaming challenge, with Samsung’s ultimate 28” gaming monitor, the G70A - equipped with a 1ms response time, UHD 4K resolution, 144hz refresh rate with G-Sync and FreeSync Premium support, HDMI 2.1, and fully customizable Odyssey Infinity Core lighting.
thats the one i have right now and using
that one should be good tho? it's just expensive af compared to M32Q
idk whats wrong with it its bad picture quality even in hdr and non very low brightness even at 100 the color modes are the worst
they look washed out
oh my did I start this or is this a side thing?
screen looks yellow
yellow?
i sent it for samsung repair twice lol
maybe poor factory settings on it
