It also will make 0 difference using a gtx 1070
So you might as well go for cheaper platform if money is a concern
True
It's only two generations old, it can't be that bad
But 12100 is more expensive
For the platform yes, however the CPU itself, no
Hmmm, one second
Well, I'm gonna ask again, would there be a decent AMD option?
5500 but it costs more
No igpu tho
That too
You sure?
Cpu itself is about sane price
5600g is the one with igpu
How much would a motherboard be for it?
That links to Amazon where it's that price plus $14 shipping
Amazon Prime
Wait, unless
The seller doesn't qualify for prime
thank you!
@potent portal, what does K mean in a Intel CPU?
It can be overclocked on a Z sku board
They also tend to be clocked slightly higher out of the box
🤮
I'll keep looking, thanks though for helping
YK, maybe a 12100 or 10400 is just the best option for me IG
Your best options for low cost cpus with an igpu is this @little osprey

Woops excpet non f
Yeah
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-10400
Is KF a over clocked CPU with no iGPU?
You might not even need new memory if that 7700 system has some
Correct
K isn't even worth your while
Yeah, but someone told me Dell RAM sticks aren't the best
Yeah Intel artificially locks out overclocking to a premium price for almost no reason
Better than nothing, you can get some different ones later if you really want.
True, that'd save me $50
It could be jedec tho :p

PC Builder - Intel Core i5-10400, GeForce GTX 1070, Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower
Around November or December
Ah
And? 2666 isn't really that bad
That would save money and a set of 3200 c16 would get like 10% more fps best case for $50
Would do this

PC Builder - Intel Core i5-10400, GeForce GTX 1070, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Although yeah bring forward the dell ram at least for thenmonent
I already bought my SSD
That's the one part I already have
Bought it for $35
Thank you guys though
Your help means a lot
Does he need igpu though?
I thought he had a 1070
Otherwise ds3h ax and 12100f would be very similarly priced
idk they said so
Ah ok
they said wont be getting 1070 for a while
Is going with the 10400 a bad choice?
If you're referring to me
If you need the igpu, it's fine
Otherwise I'd spend the $10 extra on 12100f and ds3h ax
I would but money saving is important for me and I need the iGPU for until I get the 1070
I'm hoping the 1070 is a decent card as well
I haven't looked into it much
I'm just hoping I'm not making the wrong decision
I mean a two generation old CPU can't be that bad, right?
It's not, don't let CPU benchmarks make it look bad because they intentionally make a CPU bottleneck to show scaling differences.
Most of the time you'll be GPU bound in the real world
Why does Amazon sell it for more than the 12100?
The 12100F is on clearance because the next gen is coming soon
12100 non-F is still $130
Oh, but is the 10400 overpriced?
Is it true that the i3 13xxx will be 6-core?
No, it's technically a higher tier than the 12100 being an i5 instead of an i3
No low end 13th gen is just rebranded 12th gen at a higher clock
I thought i3, i5, i7, and i9 labels didn't mater?
Also I was told the 10400 and 12100 wasn't too different
They don't compare between generations, correct, but that's why the 10400 is still the price it is. It was higher priced at msrp.
Oh
So I'm not overpaying if I buy from Amazon?
It's not out of stock, one sec
If it's at $160 that's too high, B&H has it for $130 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1558681-REG/intel_bx8070110400_core_i5_10400_processor_12m.html
Buy Intel Core i5-10400 2.9 GHz Six-Core LGA 1200 Processor featuring 6 Cores & 12 Threads, 2.9 GHz Clock Speed, 4.3 GHz Maximum Turbo Frequency, LGA 1200 Socket, 12MB Cache Memory, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dual-Channel DDR4-2666 Memory, Supports Intel Optane Memory, 10th Generation (Comet Lake). Review Intel i5-10400
Free shipping and all that
Well, that's what I was saying
It's hard to judge if it's overpaying without saying what the price is lol
I've never bought from B&H either
They're reliable
How long is it gonna be on sale?
My birthday is the 20th this month
So I'm hoping it's gonna stay at that price
If if doesn't, I'll go with this
But the regular 12100
Just keep an eye on this page for the lowest price https://pcpartpicker.com/product/X8snTW/intel-core-i5-10400-29-ghz-6-core-processor-bx8070110400
👍
I'll make sure to come back here and ask once I get the cash from my birthday
But thanks again for the info
Thst would be why I said if you need the igpu it's fine
Pretty sure the 12100 has better iGPU graphics than the 10400
But as far as performance I don't know which is better
Single core, 12100 slaps the 10400
Similar multi core iirc
Though ig with a 1070 won't matter much
If money saving is the goal you can even get a B460 board instead of B560 and save even more
Which I guess doesn't save you any money over this one https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dCbTwP/gigabyte-b560m-aorus-pro-ax-micro-atx-lga1200-motherboard-b560m-aorus-pro-ax
Yeah
So yeah just go with the Aorus
10400 isn't a crazy downgrade from a 12100, right?
Not at all really, unless you're looking at using a 3090 ti with it
A 1070 will not care at all
I don't have that money nor am I involved that much in PC's
I just want something that can run my games I listed earlier
War Thunder is the most demanding I can think of
War Thunder seems to spread the CPU load out fairly well so the 10400 will be fine still
I see load on about 8 threads in the lobby
iGPU or with the 1070?
I have no clue what threads are
CPU threads are based on how many cores the CPU has. A modern quad core like the 12100 has 4 cores and 8 threads, while the 10400 has 6 cores and 12 threads.
Having more threads available to use in games that use a lot of threads like this means you can do more in the background without killing your fps.
So if a game wants to use 8 threads but you only have a cpu with 8 threads you won't be able to watch a youtube video while you game without losing some fps.
While if you have 12 threads youtube can just use one of the remaining 4 threads
So the 10400 would be a better option for games?
If I just want to check out Discord and have it run in the background
It depends on what games but overall I'd call them even
Especially if you're GPU bound which most games are
Already bought most of the parts
Roblox, TF2, CS:GO, War Thunder, and Garry's Mod time to time
Maybe Minecraft
And WoT Blitz possibly

The motherboard, should I change it to atx instead of micro
No need really unless you want to add a capture card or something later

True
could anyone tell me a good price i could sell a pc with a 1060 3 gb, i5-6500, 3 tb hdd + 128 gb ssd, 8 gb ddr3 ram and wifi 6e +bluetooth card?
in america.
probably 300 $ at most right?
i was gonna put it on craigslist or facebook marketplace
$300 if you're lucky. List it for that and take $225-250 when someone tries to lowball you.
1060 3gb only goes for $60 right now
The rest is worth maybe $150
alright then. if i bundled it with a 28 in 4k monitor and a decent wireless keyboard and mouse, could i maybe sell it for 500?
Probably
alright thanks
its a razer basilisk x hyperspeed and g613 keyboard so pretty good
the monitor is bottom tier but still big and 4k lol
Mouse goes for $20 used and keyboard $40
So hopefully the bundle value helps you
You could do $300 without the monitor
any good mobos that pair with the 12400f
Any specific features you need like wifi?
Either or
It's regional
b660m-a wifi or gigabyte b660 aorus pro ax if it's still $145, if you want white
is that better
i love the look of the aorus pro
Mostly cosmetic differences
similar, won't notice much of a diff with a 12400f
i think the msi one has better vrms but i could be wrong on that
Reason: Bad word usage
would only really notice with a 12700 or 12900 anyways
Yeah the MSI was tested to work with a 12900k without power limits and didn't throttle
yall think the 7800xt is gonna be 700 bucks
But that's not something to worry about on a 12400
850-900 imo, but we won't know till release
No clue, they haven't announced yet
7700xt is coming out soon
™️
last i knew it was either october or november, but i could be wrong
Nov 3
cant amd completely destroy nvidia rn
that's what we're hoping for
No what AMD is doing is letting nvidia be crazy and take the high end at the cost of WAY higher cost and power
because if 4060 ti and 4070 at 900 and 1200 are what we've got as the options, or 4090 for 1600
Meanwhile they're doing nearly as well with much less power
it's not looking too great
nvidia prices are crazy
There's room in AMDs stack for a 7950XT or 7970XT that they just slam all the power into like nvidia is doing but I think that's unlikely
what is NAVI
It's a codename for the architecture
oh
does the 12400f come with a stock cooler or do i have to buy a seperate cooler
it does
Forgot to ask, what about the 10400?
it does
Thank you ❤️
is it good enough to keep it at a good temp?
for gaming it's fine, a bit loud
if you want it quieter with decent temps, 214xt
if you want it quieter and low temps, peerless assassin 120 se.
alr thx

@mossy venture, @potent portal, final revision, any last words before I start buying parts this month?
This is on a Google Doc BTW
looks good
Both CPU options have an iGPU just as a backup if the used GPU I'm getting fails on me
Also I'm probably not gonna get the GPU until around November or December
Tbh I'll say 12100, then at the least you have the future option to do a way better upgrade than what 10400 would ever allow (the sockets allow*)
same, 12th gen better for upgradeability
best case scenario you could upgrade to 13th gen in a couple years
while the 10th is plain dead 😛
850w is more than enough for the 3080 for vr and gaming
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GLpq78 any improvements that can be made?
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower
im prob going for the 7700xt or 7800xt instead
I'd get g360a, and I'd probably get an 850 for a 7700xt, just in case. They might not follow the same namings as current gen, so 7700xt could next gens 7800xt or 7900xt for all we know
i was being a dumbass and already bought it but i got it for 80
Still a good case
Ok thx
So just 850w psu and I’m good
Only 25$ 💀
Seems a bit steep to go from one of the best psus to one of the best psu's lol
Nope
Mhm
I cleaned out the socket and then it worked, i think my GPU is dead now because nothing will display
There was thermal paste in my socket and i could feel that the CPU wasn’t getting hot but now with it clean it is
Are you connected to the gpu and not the motherboard slot
1070
I'm mainly looking at the 10400 because it's on sale and for the GPU I'm getting, I don't think it's gonna care what CPU I have that's newer than it
But if the 10400 goes back to $160, I'll get the 12100
That gives me a thought
Is the 11400 a good option for $170?
No
Because when the 10400 isn't on sale, it's usually $160
The 5600 is cheaper
Is the 11400 garbage?
Not worth the extra cost
12100 my beloved
Well anyways I'm gonna take this apart tonight and learn a bit about computers
Probably gonna stream in VC since I'm gonna need guidance if I can get some
I'm stupid
Because Iowa hicks hit different
how get rgb for chep
does this have rgb
Does if you get the rgb version.
IIRC 214xt $20 with rgb, 120se $20 no rgb or $25 with rgb
Actually rgb version is on sale for $23
Yo can I get any help I was playing a game on the pc and it crashed out of nowhere after I reset it when I turned it on it’s makes 3 beeping sounds and doesn’t display on my monitor
Is the ram dead
this better than the 214xt
?
Close enough. Better heatsinks have 5 or 6 heatpipes, but that's about it
should my 9 5900x running at a constant 91 C (Max) with max graphics while gaming worry me
it idles <40C
What cooler?
360mm capellix
sounds like a remount
And double check that you peeled the plastic off the bottom of the cold plate while you're at it
You'd be amazed how often people forget that
cold plate ?
The metal part that touches the CPU
It'll be either nickel plated or exposed copper
oh it came with thermal paste pre applied
was just a bigger plastic cover on top to make sure it wasnt bothered

GTX 970 is around $100 on eBay and so is the i7-4970k.
Ohs hit

Maybe 300?
Ssd and psu would be worth more parted out imo
It was just the price he bought it at.
what are some good rgb strips
the fan on the assassin 120 se is better, idk about the heatsink itself but it should be about as good
hey yall i have a problem with my pc vga error light turning on can someone help 😀
Turn off PC and reseat gpu
is sn520 good nvme
which one would be my m.2 LMAO
Prime example of why you unplug extra drives during window install, but probably the bottom one. I still suggest your shutdown then unplug whichever you don't want windows installed to.
shut down the system and take out the drive(s) you DONT want to install Windows on. then, there’s only one option
is the m.2 new?
if you just got it and installed it it'd be the one with no partitions lol
both the hdd and m.2 are new
no, old model and bad endurance.....
why does one of the drives have a partition if its new
lmaoo
ok thanks
I have no clue it booted up like that
🗿
💩
btw on that other server(s) someone probably will tell you the same thing of unplugging the hdd during the windows install. edit: yes, when PC is powered down and not in use, lol.

definitely do not pull a drive out while installation is happening lol
Can the NZXT kraken z53 240mm have a gif in it?
No
I also wouldn't recommend that aio honestly
$300 for just 240mm is ridiculous

hi, I recently took a break from using my pc and now, after a few months, I have started using it again and my CPU is overheating. It will run like 80 degrees on idle and 90-95 on a game, its not a thermal paste issue as I checked. The pump is working because when I feel the tubes they vibrate and I can feel the heat coming out of the fans so I'm not sure why its happening. If anyone could help thatd be great. I have a 3080, 5950x and my cooler is a corsair h100x. Also, for some reason my cooler won't show up in its software and I can't read aio pump speed in bios. Thanks. Any help appreciated.
I'm assuming this is celsius?
I'd make sure the fans in the aio are spinning
Also check the cable for the aio

@mossy venture everything? Dang it's that bad? I thought I'd done enough research lol
It's pretty poor choices also windows is free and works just fine if you don't activate it
They're all pretty good if you ignore the prices but that's v important
Would a 12400 be a better budget option than a 12100 if it's on sale?
the better budget option is th 12400f in any scenario
12100 is only worth on the extreme budget
dont get me wrong, the 12100 is a very good cheap cpu, but with only 4 cores you are very limited on the amount of apps running at the same time
What’s a good cooler for the 5800x3d?
Thinking of getting it but don’t wanna spend too much on the cooler
Arctic liquid freezer ii 360mm or 420mm
If you have an actual gpu, then tbh don't bother unless 12400 comes back at $150ish again.
I would prefer an air cooler
No air cooler can sufficiently cool it
Hello so my friend is trying to run multiple instances on laptop but his computer is running a bit slow would a cpu or gpu I think it's cpu based game he has a i7 10th gen laptop with 6 cores 12 threads and the game name is Global MU Online he says when he opens a lot of them his computer starts to get laggy what do you recommend cpu upgrade is my guess
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/69f8yK @fossil cedar hello pato if you could look over this the cpu and gpu need to stay but everything else can be changed for a cheaper price

getting a 3600 kit on an non k cpu will risk a gear 2 on that kit
change ram to 16GB
also power supply can be chnaged i feel like that price to high
Will 16GB make it any cheaper
yes, but instead of cutting the memory in half you can cut the cpu
a 12700f could suffice
tbh idk he just told me he wants to open game a lot
idk what that game even is
never played it
lets do that ig
well can 12700f survive wiothout one
ill have to ask him when he comes back after cal
yes
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3070, Deepcool CK560 ATX Mid Tower
rgb on 8x2 sticks is just a waste
also if you want to upgrade memory speed like 3600+ you will need a K cpu... non K could potentially switch to gear 2 anything over 3200 because... intel ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Um budget and also rgb? And why does cpu and gpu need to stay? They're an awful pairing, also i would recommend them waiting 17 days and getting 13th gen instead
@fossil cedar something about the game and opening it many times
Well he doesn't play many games that require high gpu
most games will require 4 maybe 6 cores
maaaaybe
12900 is a waste for gaming... heck even the 12700
Even more reason to just get a 13600kf or 13700kf
Well look at the game I mentioned like I said what he said is when he opens a lot of instances of game cpu goes to 100% and computer tseats to get slow
well you need the exact information
or bring him here
we dont know the exact game, nor how many instances of that game he opens
I'll bring him here but he said he'll talk to you guys another time
Yeah no crap he's trying to launch multiple instances on a 6 core 10th gen laptop cpu
on that case it could be justified a 12900 or a 7950
and more than 32gb on memory
halving the memory to 16 but wanting more cores was just wth
He says he's been playing game for 20 years 💀
They're probably doing that on a threadripper lol
Well idk how much ram he will actually need
and he is doing that on a trp then he obviously have the money to spare
If you think 32 then alright
no worries pato :3
but to advice him on anything lioke that we must know the exact situation
which game and how many instances
imagine running multiple instances of civilization
Whether you're a new player or someone that's been playing the game for years and years, Jewels are as essential now as they've ever been. Knowing this, I bring you the best way that I found to get a lot of jewels whilst being 100% AFK.
This is the method that I use to gather hundreds of jewels a week with almost no input other than trading the ...
He wants to farm jewels ig
Yea idk this is outside my scope
I just play space games haha
seems like a very light and old game
12700 + 32 should suffice for like 4 or even 6 instances at the same time
214xt or assassin x120
both will do the the job just fine
214xt is cheaper
12400f isnt a warm cpu
however if you have more money then pa120 se is better
il g o with the pa120 se cuz its just 10 bucks and u said its better
it is
i just built a pc on the newegg app, does anyone know if i check the compatibility of the parts and see if there are better parts to pair it with

👍
what about running 40 ha
Did they legit build the 12400 to be used for gaming specifically?
40? he need a trp then
oh
But if I go with the 12100F, that's $100
40 instances of that game at the same time means he make real money from that game... i dont think he wouldnt have the money for a threadripper system anyway
i mean... which cpu?
Ryzen 5 5600x
on air you can do a pa120 se or an ak620
I'm very very interested in this, I'ma watch the video RQ and see how much this is gonna cost
on water, you can go liquid freezer2 240 or 360
ima do the air prolly
doesnt
pa120se is very good, but the ak620 is a beast
12400 come with an igpu and 12400f doesnt
choose the one that fit your budget
i looked up pa120 in the pc part picker and there are 7 options
yes, the F versions dont have igpu
¯_(ツ)_/¯ intel
black and whites, rgb and non rgbs
yea i just saw that lol
all of them perform the same
I love rgb
got the cpu out the way now i just need the other 2
rgb makes me act up frr
country and budget and i can help you
Oh okay well I got a number out of him he wants like 20 or something
20 is still quite a high number even for a 12900
necessity for high fps
US and obv not the highest end but i want a good gaming pc
could probably pull 10 to 12 at a time on a 12900
who much you want to spend? also you need monitor on that budget?
thats quite the buddget... one moment
Thats enough for one third of a threadripper
lol fs
why is the 3080 so expensive
no wait
@empty pollen, I got a question, but I'll let you finish helping this dude out
@empty pollen , I got a question, but I'll let you finish helping this other dude out aswell
can i get a threadripper build so i can tell him price
isnt a threadripper like 7.5k
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Deepcool CK560 ATX Mid Tower
yeah, now you need pato for that one 😛
there is no way for a 12900 to run 20 instances of that game nor to cheap on a system to perform that amount of tasks
Help
im probs gonna get a 7700xtttt
oh wait
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400A ATX Mid Tower
wait you just built one?
Yea
that is only 1.6k tho
idk u could prob get a better gpu
im not really experienced either
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Deepcool CK560 ATX Mid Tower
i can go with more expensive parts, but those will have a lot of diminish returns... but ok
i mean if all the specs n stuff are good on this i can just add more storage
and i think i already told you a few times but i um bought the case a while ago for 80
isnt that just light up
i would get rgb if i get water cooling
i swear there was an rgb channel
@empty pollen okay what you think 13900k can do
Run fortnite
could be... have a lot more of cores
but we need the reviews for that
@empty pollen, is there much of a difference between the 10400 and the 12400?
I'd like to go with the 10400 since it's cheaper and the motherboard is gonna be cheaper as welll
If userbenchmark is correct then
btw what do you mean by diminish returns
`UserBenchmark is NOT a reliable source of information and has been blanket banned in many hardware communities such as r/hardware and r/intel for what started as an anti-AMD bias but has spiraled into delusion.
In fact, they tried so hard to skew results in favor of Intel's midrange that they even cannibalized Intel's own high end. For example, according to UserBenchmark, the i3-9350K is rated higher than the i9-10980XE.
For a similarly convenient quick-and-dirty hardware comparison website, we recommend using PassMark instead of UserBenchmark.
PassMark CPU comparison: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleCompare.php
PassMark GPU comparison: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/singleCompare.php
Want to know more?: https://youtu.be/RQSBj2LKkWg`
means like you will get better parts, but the performance on games will be very very little
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Deepcool CK560 ATX Mid Tower
Wait, what's the point of the K?
to have better memory ocing and a better binned cpu
I thought so too
so the diff between the first and second one
One sec
mostly rgb, better memory speed, better drive speed... overall like 10 more fps
for like 1k more
they are both 32 g ram and 2 tb
speed is different
@potent portal, for a budget of around $600, would the 10400 or 12400F be a better option
different memory speed im pretty sure
3200mhz and 3600
for the ram
and diff brand
and rgb
10 fps for 1k
and pci gen 3 and 4 for the drive
thats what i meant with dimisinh reutrns
might just have to go with the 1.6k
my choice as well
but you wanted to blow the full budget
c*rsair made meme memory sticks
@empty pollen, would you know the answer to this at all?
plus they made 3800c18
12400f any day of the week
depends on if i wanna have the rgb bc you said it was rgb on the second one and i saw water cooling
if you dont have the money 12100 is better on gaming, 10440 is better on multitasking
$600 to spend on what exactly? What GPU will it be paired with
yeah the water cooling is a must on k cpus, they are hotter, and rgb 🙂
F cpus are a bit cooler
you can go air on F cpus and you will be fine
on aios no
what is fcpu
isnt f
there are four types
1070, and the 1070 will be free, but I'm still gonna consider it as if I spent money on it
So more like around $450 IG
@empty pollen https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zNzY8r
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce GTX 1070, Cougar MX410 MESH-G RGB ATX Mid Tower
Where could I cut costs on this list if I did go for 12400F?
I already bought the SSD, so really can't change that
Only thing I can think of is dropping to a 12100F
so from pcpartpicker do i buy from amazon or build it on a website and just order it from there
Mhm
and get a ck560 case
cheaper and 4 fans
PCPartPicker is more of a organizer
bet
I'm building my first PC too 😅
You'll learn a few things pretty quickly
you can click on every item as well and they will tell you where they can be found
pcpp compiles prices from multiple sites and shows you the lowest. Once you have a list you can click the price to bring you to the website to buy it. It's usually from Amazon and Newegg, sometimes B&H, in the USA
I was really confused when people started using numbers for CPU's and not using their marketing name such as i3, i5, i7, and i9
the cooler will bring one for free
Depending on the CPU, thermal paste will be pre-applied, but not a lot of it
5600 and b550 pro vdh wifi
Same perf for a bit cheaper
AMD Rzyen 5?
Yes
Does that have an iGPU or would I have to get the 5600G?
so should i just buy thermal paste just incase or no
5600g, but then the 12100 is better and cheaper
If it has a stock fan with it, I'd think it would have pre-applied
get an mx-4 if you want to have one in case, but the cooler will bring on lil tube for free
It's not the same CPU
Otherwise yes, no stock fan, then definitely get thermal paste
Any cooler you buy will basically always come with paste
ok bet
i need rgb strip for my pc elp
Most of the time you don't need paste unless you want extras in case you want to repaste
help
that little syringe... thats the free paste
Well okay, let me RQ go over the options I've been thinking for CPU's
however, mx-4 is better than the free one supplied and its cheap anyway
10400, 12100, 5600, and 12400
I'd kick out 10400
No specific variant, just any of those models
And if you want igpu, 5600 isn't an option
Think of 5600g as completely different from 5600
Because it is
Yeah, that's why I asked about the G
Half l3 cache can hit performance
than the 5600g
i mean, you have the gpu already
you dont need the igpu
go either 12400f or 5600
The only reason I was thinking about the 10400 was because it's a bit older and it's motherboard socket is gonna be cheaper as well
you will lose a ton of performance for saving some bucks
and not that many in any case
Fair enough
casue the 12400 and the 5600 are cheaper, plus the 12100 is way better for gaming and a lot cheaper as well than the 10th gen one
Will the 12400F be going on sale any time soon?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
hello everyone. I am trying to decide on upgrading to the ryzen 7 or not. I am running an asus 3060ti 32 gb or memory b550 ud ac mother board 1tb HD. Woulodl the upgrade be worth the money and or would it cause trouble on my rig?
Which Ryzen 7?
runing the 5
depend on what you have rn
havent got that far checking compatibility and spec growth
which rig do you have right now?
7700x required a new motherboard, 5700x isn't that big of a difference from 5600
Anyone know why my games would be crashing all of a sudden?
Context?
perfectg thats what i needed to hear to be honet
Anything specific you doing inside them before it crashes?
Like starting a match or something?
Good stuff, just let anyone here know if you have anymore questions
bruh
Hm?
can someone help me find a good rgb strip for inside pc
tried playing cyberpunk and 10 minutes in would crash. Same thing would happen on my old pc. Everything is up to date and tried lowering the graphics
Drivers possibly?
not my area of expertise sadly xD cant help you on the rgb strip issue 😛
I would answer, but it's not anything I would know anything about
^
Sorry
I honestly have no idea. i can run tarkov, fivem, and cod just fine
i swear there was an rgb chasnnel
Interesting
channel
it did the same thing on watch dogs
I'm unsure
the dude at newegg also didnt know. sent me here lol
@empty pollen, @stoic island, 12400F, 12100F, or 5600
What would be the best option to pair with a GTX 1070?
depends on price at that point
that wont get bottlenecked?
if you're going to upgrade gpu, 12400, if not, 12100 is fine
Can you run 3dmark's timespy demo? You can find it on steam
I'm gonna treat the GTX 1070 as if it cost me $150 and my total budget is $600
I'd like to upgrade
whats that lol. sorry somewhat new to pc
But again I wanna save money
I mean, ig according to bleach 12100 is fine for most games
War Thunder is gonna be the most demanding for me, otherwise the second most demanding is games running on Source 😅
yea uh you'd be fine
whats the difference between a founders edition and a normal gpu
TF2, CS:GO and Garry's Mod
Good question TBH
different pcb and heatsink
I was curious too
same chip, different stuff you put on it
normal loooks better so ima just stick with that lmaoo
@stoic island, I'm not gonna count my chickens before they hatch, my birthday is the 20th this month, so I'm hoping some stuff might be on sale and I can go from there
I just want to have some options for when that happens
@empty pollen, thank you too for the help
aight
You're welcome
👍
👍
what is the diff between windows 11 and 11 pro
well what should i get
bet
should i get windows 10 home
@stoic island, quick question, what would be a cheap motherboard with wifi that I could use for the 12400 or 12100?
also for my monitor i know if the refresh rate doesnt match it messes with frames or wtv so what should i go for
You technically don't need to pay for it at all, but if you want the key there's cheaper options on non-official websites we can't say anything more specific about. Around $20-25.
Right now, aorus pro ax is at a nice price, usually, MSI b660m-a wifi, and the less desirable option of ds3h ax is fine too
This is just a setting, you can change the resolution and refresh rate once it's running
Pirating an OS? 💀
It's official keys, not pirated
i mean im just settin all of it on new egg and idrc ab price
But yeah you can use Windows for free without a license
You just won't be able to use the "personalization" settings and you might get a watermark
Would this guy work?
All of which have wifi correct?
And 13th once launched, to add to that
"ax" means 802.11ax aka. wifi 6
Interesting, okay
like how "ac" is 802.11ac aka. wifi 5
So if the name of the board says ax, ac, or just straight up wifi, it probably has wifi
I don't plan to upgrade to a 13th generation CPU because I want to resist upgrading as much as possible unless I need to so I can play my games
Good stuff, thanks
So if there is a 11th generation board with wif I would love to get the link
That's a good attitude to have. Most modern processors are way overkill for gaming, even the 12100 pairs fine with a 3090 ti.
i swear someone said they have an i3 for a 3090
Bleach does
Mhm, that's the 12100
oh
Well, is there any 11th generation boards that have wifi?
yes
any reason why my cpu is running at 100% while i play and power usage at very high lmao
that does
What CPU, GPU, and game?
@empty pollen the pc i built on new egg was 2.6k that is 1k higher than what you had
With LGA 1700 to rephrase that
Oh
RTX 3070, Intel Core i7-11700F, and cyberpunk
I'm stupid
had to pick a monitor, diff gpu, and the operating system
Cyberpunk uses a lot of compute power, even with a good GPU
What fps do you get?
And on what settings/resolution?
Mfw 580p
i have all graphical settings on low
@stoic island https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WNjBD3/gigabyte-b660m-ds3h-ax-ddr4-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b660m-ds3h-ax-ddr4

$120
is just bare board
havnt checked fps yet
That reduces the load on the GPU but not the CPU as much, which introduces a CPU bottleneck
Gigabyte gaming x ax b660 is $108 on amazon warehouse
Any way around that
Atleast it was yesterday
Turn up the graphics settings and it'll use the GPU more, eventually the GPU will become the bottleneck and CPU usage will drop
last time the graphics were up it crashed
Just remembered to check that, it's $90
Well that's cyberpunk for you lol
watch dogs did the same thing lol
That's another game that uses a lot of CPU power
damn. So is there really no fix for it
Unless you're getting really low fps there's nothing to fix
when building on newegg does it come as a pre built or do you build it
Intel LGA 1700 Socket: Supports 12th Gen Intel Core Series Processors DDR4 Compatible: Dual Channel DDR4, 4 DIMMs Sturdy Power Design: 6+2+1 Phases Hybrid Power Design, Premium Choke and Capacitors, 8-pin Solid Pin CPU Power Connector Comprehensive Thermal Design: M.2 Thermal Guard Next Gen Conne...
Non ax though
You would have to build it, the ENIAC build service is suspended for now, indefinitely
How much would it be to install a wifi card
Reason: Bad word usage
...
Don't worry
does it come with the wires
Can get a cheap wifi card though
i aint know lol
The parts should come with the wires they come with. I don't know about ENIAC, but they've stopped doing that anyway. Possible exceptions for open box/refurb.
Yeah, could you find me one, also I'm thinking about getting a fan pack for this case to cut costs
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vYp323/cougar-mx330-atx-mid-tower-case-mx330
If you can find me a budget fan pack too, that'd be great
fs thank you
That'd end up more expensive, no?
and everybody else that has helped lol
Well the MX410 is already $68
Actually, one sec
Yes, but I get more fans out of this
I was thinking a five pack
I'll check what size the MX330 has anyways
Two front and two top 120mm's
And a rear pre-installed 120mm
For budget best bet is probably a case with preinstalled fans
Antec Mod - In Power We TrustProfessional Modding Authentication: Tens of thousands of modding enthusiasts around the globe swear by Antec. With impeccable quality, the PF12 has become an established reference for quiet 120mm fans. Reliable Brand Guarantee:Trusted Antec quality, backed up with 2-...
Five for $20
That's what it's supposed to do
Okay thanks for the help bro im still new to pc
If you're trying to reduce overall power usage you can underclock and set fps limiters
If anyone can find me a budget case that has a decent amount of pre-installed fans and beats this in price and amount of fans, lemmie know
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZT4BD3/cougar-mx410-mesh-g-rgb-atx-mid-tower-case-mx410-mesh-g-rgb
Montex x3 mesh perhaps
Only the white version is on sale though
3 140mm and 3 120mm
Shoot the p400a doesnt have rgb fans doesnt it
No, but tou can add some
Duckkkkkkk
yes 😔
And its non digital?
P400A digital does
Is it p400a, or p400a digital
uhhhhhhhhhhh
yeahhh i dont think its digital
ill just get rgb fans then
oh well
does anyone know any good rgb case fans
antec or arctic
Arctic
Ye, pretty sure p400a has two non rgb fans in it but I could be wrong
i just got the blue screen of death...
What does the error message say?
You can get an idea of the cause by running whocrashed if it's not a common error
Also what ram
Balls
Well my brother said he's buy me this for my birthday
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZT4BD3/cougar-mx410-mesh-g-rgb-atx-mid-tower-case-mx410-mesh-g-rgb
I think it looks nice TBH, but I do like the one you send
I like that one, from the same brand you sent
Yeah it's understandable if you don't want the white, I wish the black was on sale
more expensive with less fans though
This one gets two 200mm front ones
I think the cougar 410 is probably a good choice unless there's something you don't like about it
I like the Cougar MX330
But it doesn't get as close as many pre-installed fans as these ones do
I just don't like the over all look of the MX410
@weary galleon, if you had to pick between these two, which would you pick?
https://www.newegg.com/p/2AM-00CN-00033?
https://www.newegg.com/black-montech-flyer-x-atx-mid-tower/p/2AM-00CN-00009?
There's always the DIY option for cases
is your motherboard micro atx or full atx?

I work with wood and weld, I don't cut metal
Micro-ATX
I would probably do the air 100 then
Worst case option is always the milk crate
Best airflow without an open chassis right there
However the air 100 is $75, so it's only $15 more for this one (2 more 120mm and front 3 are 140)
https://www.newegg.com/black-montech-x3-atx-micro-atx-mid-tower/p/2AM-00CN-00036
4 fans is plenty though so if you like the air 100 go for it
@weary galleon, since my brother is gonna buy my case, I gave him three options and told him I'd prefer the Montech X3 but whatever works and told him to surprise me
https://www.newegg.com/black-montech-x3-atx-micro-atx-mid-tower/p/2AM-00CN-00036https://www.newegg.com/p/2AM-00CN-00033?
https://www.newegg.com/black-montech-flyer-x-atx-mid-tower/p/2AM-00CN-00009?
So we'll see in 17 days on my birthday on the 20th
Thanks though for helping me with some options
yeah, no problem
@potent portal https://www.ebay.com/itm/275305718713?
I like 😍
But $140 seems a bit demanding
I dunno, I'm getting a free GPU, but I think this is the first time I've looked on eBay for a GPU
depends on many factors
like?
mostly price
the gaming aspect on both of those is almost equal
however the 12600k have oc potential, better memory controller and more cores for other tasks
Depends on budget of the whole pc
If $1600? Sure. If $1450 or lower, not really
