Yes sucking crap is a technical term for gaming on a mac
Looks sick, what pc do you have ?
Saved Part Lists
P12s>
How does it run ?
It's got no legs am afraid :(
In all seriousness, good, will probably upgrade to 13th gen intel when it comes out tho
Hell yee
Hahahahah made me laugh that and nice that’s the good thing about PC’s you can upgrade
Did you see that amd is announcing their new lineup the 29th?
I'm gonna have to try to hold back the upgrade-itis
Well snek has no legs and it zoomy too
Yes but ddr5 too expensive and i wanna reuse my great ddr4
But it no run
Yeah, that'll help me out too. I'd need a new board, ram, and CPU. I think the only way I'd go for it is if I thought I could get decent value selling my current system

Fair enough, although 13th gen is honestly looking really impressive
Do you need a certain motherboard for ddr5 ram
Yes, you need a motherboard that supports DDR5 RAM.
I see, pretty new to this. Is there a good motherboard that supports all the latest parts ?
Latest parts meaning? Latest Intel cpu? Amd cpu? Ddr5? Ddr4?
Gpu?
rtx 3080/3090. DDR5 RAM
Ok. Intel or amd cpu? That's going to be the biggest deciding factor of what mobo you get.
prob AMD i think
Welp. Then I can be of no further use to you. I know nothing about AMD cpu/mobo
Sorry 😛
Ddr5 is still terrible value atm for maybe like 5% better only really better off getting it if going 12900k
Which is intel 😛
I like intel
Yes
❤️
Atm there is 0 amd desktop cpus that support ddr5
how do you guys keep on top of the pc stuff, seems like its a never-ending money pit having a custom PC which you constantly need/want to upgrade parts?
forza 4 is acting weird with my wheel its like very sensetive but dirt 5 is totally fine
forza in general is weird with wheels
lots of ffb issues I've seen over the years
it doesn't even properly work with direct drive
yeah but i barley turn the wheel and im going side ways
If you spend the money to get what is latest at that point.. Then you won't need to spend any more money for a few years at least.
dirt 5 is doing me good tho and im having fun with it
Upgrading every time something new comes out is enthusiast/show offs kind of thing.
Or.. You just have a lot of money and don't care.
ORR you didn't do your research before you built your first PC so you end up spending an enormous amount more building the PC you really wanted.
I'll let you decide which category I fit into XD
thats fair tbf
maybe this 🥲

hahhahaha
random question but does favourites on your browser cause it to slow down or does it consume more memory the more you have. Only because i have a lot on my favourites bar in chrome
It'll be negligible
You can also create folders to put on your favorites bar to organize it if you wanted. Like I have all PC related things put into a folder called PC
Just really enjoy it 🤷
I am looking for a computer build with a budget of 700$ roughly but I don't need an SSD or an hard drive because I'm striping my pc for that, I am also in need of 32 gbs of ram because I'm look to stream.
You cab stream perfectly fine on 16gb ram, whats your current pc?
Might be able to bring psu case forward etc
what do you mean by cab im not familiar with that word?
but my current PC is Radeon RX 580Series I have 16 gbs ram and my CPU is a intel(R) core(TM) i5-7400
oh what power supply, case and what speed ram you have?
might be able to reuse some and save money/get better parts
you can check the sticker on it or download and run cpu-z or hwinfo64
okay gonna need a new power supply
what case?
an acer prebuild one
ah okay
ram is probably slow then
might be better off selling your current pc and getting a new ssd btw
i also need a new motherboard because that is also from the prebuilt
yeah no good cpus or cpus you can buy will fit in that board anyway
yeah
this was the computer that i was thinking to buy but i didnt have the money
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
i dont need the ssd tho
yeah but if you sell your current pc as a whole you would get more than enough for an ssd if you get me
anyway
im not sure i want to do that tho
what you going to do with the current pc then if not sell it?
i was going to give my current pc to my brother but im taking the ssd
or i would sell it after i get the computer
ah right, well you will need to buy a new ssd for that build anyway and do a windows reinstall so may as put the new ssd in your pc
i mean if it fits in the budget then sure
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
id do that
i see that you put an intel core i3 does that mean that its not as good as say an i5?
Depends on which i5, for example it's better than your current i5, worse than the i5 in the same generation but not by much
ok
Can also depend on what you're throwing at it
but also my current ssd is better than the one that you put in i would rather spend the money on something else
At this point as you go up the product stack you're mostly getting more cores. That doesn't always translate into better performance for every task (or much of a gain if there is one)
I'm guessing its bad to mismatch memory's but could I theoretically do that? with the pc still working
in general 12100 is better than the 7400 anyway @modest bone
thats true
whats your current ssd
Yeah newer generations of hardware can offer big gains
yes if it doesnt decide to error out, unstable memory is a very unfun time
I dont know if this helps but this is what im seeing CT1000MX500SSD4
thats a larger ssd, the one i put in the list is faster
not really anything you can do with another 35$ thats worth it anyway
But i would use that space way faster
yeye makes sense just letting you know
I haven't ran into any problems with the SSD that I own and use regularly
Yeah perfectly good ssd just remember to reinstall windows
alright my father is good with computers so we should be able to do that
what do you think of this?https://pcpartpicker.com/list/y9pFC6
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
I really wouldn't go 32gb ram with a 4 core cpu
If anything I'd spend that money going to 12400f
Id do this if you where to go over budget
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rTRCC6
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Or the msi board
Just the asrock ones cheaper
yeah I would just like to have that extra ram for streaming i think i can squeeze out the budget to 750 if you could add a 32 gb instead?
this is what i think would work but give me your thought on it https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hffDnt
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Extra ram won't actually help in streaming as streaming is done by the gpu, sure it's a nice to have but definitely an unnecessary spend
what does ram give you then?
I mean, depends, when I was streaming warzone I ran into ram limit with 16gb, though I did have a few other things open
Would drop to like 2 frames per minute whenever a gun fight happened
would ram help with stuttering or is that something else?
But id still get a 12400f and 16gb over 12100f and 32gb
Would run into page file tbh
Ram oc would help with 1% lows
But not more ram
Or save for a bit longer and get 12400f and 32gb
Or get 16gb and add more later
well i was thinking 12400f and 32gbs of ram
I can confirm this
More ram can help when you have a hungry game and all your streaming crap open sometimes
I've hit my 16gb limit with just a game before, kek
yeah does the game crash if you hit the 16gb limit?
Nah it will just go into page file instead
Not usually
also just normally with 16 gbs im using 6.5 without games
It'll just run like crap
Swap memory starts kicking in at full capacity so you'd probs see a really horrible gaming experience
yeah
Pagefile and swap memory are both the same, the PC will start to use your drive as a temporary memory
But since that's not near as quick as ram is, that's where you can see some pretty bad gaming expirience
i see yeah
cause normally when im streaming my game is lagging and stuttering when it normally doesn't when not streaming
also just playing warzone without streaming is hard on my computer
That's just bloatware
ok so thats normal
What're you trying to do?
Get it to turn on
New build for my friend
Doesn't post
Only sign of life is the psu light is on
Checked cpu pins?
Yeah cpu installed fine
Tried other ram slots?
I can try removing a stick
Did you double check the front panel connector?
Try one in just the third slot
Triple checked with the manual
@formal plover what's the connector going into the CPU power say?
Wanna make sure you didn't plug in pcie/GPU to eps/cpu
sadly he cant stream at general .. can u see special gaming vc @formal plover
It's a modular psu but it's the atx power plugged into the cpu
quick question is this a good pc build? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hffDnt
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Could try shorting power pins
Really bad motherboard, it'll overheat even with that i5
I'd reccomend a b660m (pro a MSI or mortar) typically
Yeah that's what I started doing in case the case had an issur
Punny man
make sure you plug it all the way
I'm live on Twitch, come hang out! https://www.twitch.tv/flite001?sr=a
flite001 streams live on Twitch! Check out their videos, sign up to chat, and join their community.
I'm showing a cam here
so something like this? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VrjbyK
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Probs was shorting it manually
Then u can put questions in chat or something
i have msi before it should atleast have lights when u plug everything fine
but heres the crazy part when i broke my mobo.. the mobo wont light up when i put cpu in xD.. i short my mobo for some reason
Yeah it's unplugged
👍
Wait
I'll hop on PC in a sec and make you list. What's your budget and what will you do with the PC?
ok everyone just chat on twitch
my original budget was 700 but i can mostly do 750
Ok
username is flite001
Doesn't let me send invite link
I'm doing split screen with twitch and discord
Can get asus tuf 550 to save about $10
Non modular though
what do you mean non modular?
oh i see
you gonna stream with it?
aight
do you need wifi @modest bone ?
no i have ethernet
aight cool
rip, fitting this all in is gonna be really difficult
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3YjbyK thats as close as i personally got with 12400 (non f for QSV, basically takes load of streaming), 32gb, 1tb, kinda made for streaming
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
but thats only 6600 so maybe someone else can take a shot at getting a 6600xt in or something
6600 is an excellent value
isnt the 12400f cheaper than the 12400 without f?
I mean, can take out the 214xt
But aside from that looks about as good as it'll get
5600 and a cheap b550 might be a bit less
is there any performance differences?
sadly 5600 spendy
so not much of a difference
ok
plus with 12400 you get QSV
6600 and up have encoder
ok
its already over budget by like $65
QSV is quicksync video
so just easier of saying quicksync
yeah im not sure i can get much more than 750-760 ill ask tho
yeah i get it
i was thinking along the lines of this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cBX3W4
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
You get it running?
so what do you think of the computer i put in chat?
Worse gpu for better cpu ehh
isnt the cpu good tho
well th board isnt going to change the computer
like the performance
but its a good mid tier computer
upgrading the CPU doesn’t always mean better performance, but you can for sure upgrade the GPU without worrying as much about bottlenecks
yeah it also mean that i dont have to spend more on motherboards
ye but don’t sacrifice a good motherboard for a better CPU
also the motherboard doesnt change the performance right?
Hey anybody ever had trouble connecting their controller to their pc?
trying to help a friend, his Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE is plugged in, Icue detects tempatures within its program but his CPU Temp reader is showing this: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/745130013950738593/1009591442978635866/IMG_7051.jpg
heres some stuff to try straight from corsair themselves
im very tempted to go back to an AIO cpu pump and get rid of my loop
changing motherboards only affect how much ram slots and stuff not game performance right?
not necessarily
some motherboards handle heavy load differently, temps, cooling, fan slots, m.2 support, etc
if you're overclocking
^
ok thanks
yeah we already looked at this, Interesting for me atelast , Were waiting on a response from corsair support but other then that were just trying to figure out if its something having an issue, He Uninstalled and reinstalled the Icue program, Updated it, made sure everything was updated but we cant seem to figure it out
finally had a min to sit down and take apart my water loop and fully clean it out. that distro plate was a ginormous pain in my butt
nice looking pc!
thanks 😄
are graphics card brackets worth buying?
Depends. Are they worth paying a premium for? No. You can easily build your own for much cheaper with Legos. That being said... if you want something that looks good, then sure.
But they are worth having either way.
You can literally use anything like even lego
Have you seen the Lego PC case?
I bet all those bricks cost more than a regular case by far lol
But it'll be very structurally sound at least
I see a project for my Legos in the future xD
I have so many legos it's ridiculous.
I haven't played with them in years.
You'll probably need a 3D printer or some scrap mounting parts from an old case to do it
Things like the PSU mount are very precisely measured, but a removable mount could be repurposed easily.
Hm. My friend has a company that has "use it or lose it" funding for peoples bills and they are about to lose it so I'm gonna use it.. maybe I'll look into getting a 3d printer with the saved money.
Any recommendations? I see them on sale all the time on newegg, but I know nothing about 3d printers to be able to discern if they are even that good.
I've never touched a 3D printer so I'm of no help there
I think LTT had a bunch of them and reviewed some?
I don't need some top of the line super expensive 3d printer. But quality:price is preferred.
So otherwise.. not really.
Hm. Is there one that does both?
I'm sure I could make use of both.
I apologize for late reply. I will have some questions here in a bit. I ended up getting busy and still got a little bit to do. Didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.
So if I were to want to print box mods for vaping.. which one would I be wanting to go for? I will also want to be making stands for the vapes and various other items. How would I go about adding threads into the 3d printed item for things like atty stands where the 510 pin could screw into. I would also like to be able to have detail as in my own logo or any logo/decal in the printed item as well if possible..
The resin printer you mentioned miniatures.. inassume the resin is a smaller filament that can be more precise with where it's placed by the printer?
Is there not an all in one printer that I can just swap out little bits of hardware here and there to convert it when I need it to be one or the other?
Without sacrificing performance/quality of either one?
Oh ok
Looks like I'm gonna need to be doing some research then.
Ah I see. Hm. I do not have the room atm I think to be messy and have to cure stuff.
Yeah I kinda figured that would be the better way.
Alright. I'll start looking into the ones you suggested. As far as the fookoos Odin 5.. what kind of tinkering and upgrading would I be looking at? Would that make the cost go above something else of comparable performance that doesn't require tinkering or upgrading?
This is what I'm looking at right?
What kind of tinkering and upgrading would I need to be doing for it?
I saw kraken and almost got triggered thought you where talking about the aio
Autolevel bedmesh? I kinda understand what raspberry pi is, but couldn't whatever is on that be used on my PC? And I take it garolite is the plate that the print starts on?
As far as the kraken heatbreak.. that would be compatible with this printer?
Ok. Do you have a link?
I'm unsure of what I'm looking at. I will get all this at once if I decide to get a printer. Fookoos seems like it might be exactly what I'd need.
I'll just have to learn it as I have it.
This was done with that fookoos. Looks like good enough detail for me.
@pliant swallow you def opened a can of questions. XD
@pliant swallow whats up with the Ender 3? It seems like thats a highly rated beginner one?
I guess I'm wondering how it compares to the fookoos?
hello i see a laptop lenovo idea pad 3 650$ i510300h 8 ram gtx1650 ti is it good 120 hz fresh rate
Should be able to get a 1660 or 3050 laptop for that price
But 1650ti
But it's too fresh
1650ti mobile = 1650 desktop ≈ rx6400 = bad
3050mobile is slightly better but not by much. So yes, 3050 laptop you should aim for that
Would DCS world run on a 1660 decently?
Friends asking for a $500 build, I've got a spare 1660 I could give him if it'll work well
Dcs?
That's what I expected. The vendor delivery guy at my work is swearing it up and down as he is also telling me about all the issues he has encountered.
I'm really thinking of going with the Fokoos Odin 5 because I think it's small enough for me, however I still need to do some research before I make a decision. I was at work last night so that is why I kept asking all those questions. I'm home now though so once I'm done with my class, I will be looking into it much deeper.
Idk, it's what he asked
Asked them what they meant lol
Distributed control system?
im trying to get a cheaper but reliable cpu fan for this setup im trying to cut the amount from 775 to 760 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cBX3W4
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
just the last step to get this one
I almost feel like there is no way you can get $15 cheaper with the CPU cooler without sacrificing performance by 100%. You'd have to like.. find someone who has a used one and is willing to come off it for like $7 or less.
To me it looks like you would have to try and find cheaper "possibly" RAM or go with a cheaper MOBO, which then again for a price cut you would be sacrificing more performance than the amount you are saving.
IMO just go mow a lawn or something and get that $15.
Clean out an old ladies ( @frank stirrup 's mom) garage for $20 or something.
Oh piss off
❤️
do you think buying a use one is viable?
sure if it's in good condition, but if all your parts are new.. may as well grab a new cooler too. $22 for your cooler is nothing compared to the cost of the rest of your build.
I spent $200 on my cooler.
I helped with this for even cheaper and better gpu too ;-;
wdym?
He helped you reduce the price of your previous list further by swapping out the gpu you had for a better/cheaper GPU that you have in your list currently.
ohh thanks that really saved my life
i think i could get it but it maybe hard, but i believe ill find a way
Where there is a will.. there is a way.
thank you guys for all the help
indeed
@fossil cedar what was that half a TB SSD name, I might need to add it
Team mp33
thanks
Which fan speed option on bios do I ignore so I don’t get the “cpu fan error” in boot
im not sure?
did you plug in your CPU fan into the right header
referring to pyro lol
but you'll probably figure that out when you get the PC
yeah
Ok so my new aio finally came in
What is the best way to clean off my cpu?
Microfiber and rubbing alcohol?
Yeah, I usually try to get the CPU warmed up a bit with a benchmark to loosen things up. You want high proof rubbing alcohol, I go with 99% but you can go a bit lower as well
Just be gentle
Ok
I just wipe excess off first with a paper towel. Then I use 70% alchohol wipes to get the remainder (IHS will be nice and shiny) then I wipe down with microfiber just to make sure.. then I give it a blast of canned air.
As far as gentle.. Just don't be like pushing down on the CPU super hard. I mean the bracket pretty well is doing a good job holding it down tight.
I think I got it good enough
one thing though
Reason: Bad word usage
give me a sec*
Ok
It's triggering me because it's slightly moved to the right
But it's ok
lol
Unless you want .1C less and put it exactly in the center
Ok I’ll do that
may as well since you are already right there
Looks good to me
Hey! What's everyone running for a case and 360mm aio? Last items I need beside a gpu. Rocking a b550 taichi. Decent airglow and possibly with rgb. Can always buy fans if the case is cheaper and/or comes without.
This better??
I am procrastinating starting this build so hard
I’m so nervous that I’m gonna break something
👍
is newegg a good place to buy gpus from
never had a problem buying from egg
Bruhhhhh
I think I need to buy more stuff
This aio needs a separate mounting thing that apparently doesn’t come with it
probably the lga1700 i’d assume lol
you could email the place you got it from and they should send it free, my air cooler didn’t come with the mounting bracket and they mailed me it free of charge
I could do that but I want it today
gotcha
Are the lga 1700 brackets specific to coolers or could I just go to micro center and grab one
yeah i’m not sure then tbh i’d leave it up to someone else to tell you what to do
Like does this only work with the msi mag coreliquid or will it work with mine?
Felix save meeeee XD
fr lol
i’m pretty sure there for specific coolers but don’t take that whole heart because i’m not 100% sure lol
Matters by the threading of the screws rather than the fitment of the bracket
Also that bracket looks plastic which is kinda meh
mine just arrived today and it’s plastic but oh well
Yours is a 12400f dun matter lol
The one that came with it is also plastic
lol
But yes this would fit with a mag core
lol all good
Does your board also have lga 1200 compatibility holes at all?
Does cm make one?
wouldn't take chances with brackets not designed for your cooler
you may get poor mounting pressure
or worst case break a standoff or something
Or just won't mount at all sometimes
Ok @broken lake they can send you one
Only available on the cooler master store apparently
This one? I think
Wha
What part
You mean the pga socket?
Yes
Pulling out the old cpu
Before
The new I got
Wondering if maybe thats why B1&2 doesnt work
That's likely a good indication
If you can show a pic please that would help
Would be good to see if any cpu pins are bent
Uh oh

I feel like that’s not something you can just glue back
Pic of the socket please
Like
Don't do anything else
Just pic of the socket
what aio do you have?
Is this the right one?
the brackets are different depending on the model
Above the socket*
the aio pal
No, in the socket
It didnt get in
which one did you have
I'm gonna show you lol
Cpu goes in fine
That interferes with the pin contact
603005870-GP/603006060-GP- this is the socket that you need
There is no MoBo that supports 5000 series on delivery
so yes, it works

is the 603005870
It can do things like lose a ram socket or two lol
this one works fine according to cooler master, is the 603005870
So isopro used on it fix it?
even the 603006060 can work
Ok because this one has 1 say shipping instead of the 5-6 day shipping on their website
You gotta get the paste out which is extremely difficult
Tbh I wouldn't touch it now that it's damaged
Isopro would melt it, no?
exhibit 583927272 on why I'm glad amd is moving to a real socket next gen
yeah safe to buy, it will work on your aio
so this doesn't happen anymore

Same
Was a accident
dude when I was switching from my 5800x to my 12100 I was lowkey scared to unmount the cooler from the 5800x
we are humans after all
Cleaned thermal paste off top and missed a lil on edges and placing in it got in
I’m just confused on how much paste you have to put on in order to get paste under the cpu XD
filter evade
getting thermal paste in the socket is pretty common
thermal paste gets everywhere
Accurate
It got my name XD
you're not supposed to dodge it
Any intel board/cpu bundle around 200?
you know you can change your own nickname right
Truth
you can probably get a 12100 + b660
What, yes they do
What board?
Unless a company is shipping motherboards with truly ancient bios they should all work
X570 doesnt without update
A 12100f + b660m ds3h gets close to 200 @little osprey
are X570S guaranteed to support zen 3?
that depends on how much time was your mobo on the shelf actually
maybe you are unlucky
I think X570S are the only boards that are guaranteed
X570 can come with the right bios. 5000 series has been out a while
otherwise there's a small chance you get a board without zen 3 support
Would get a b550 with bios flash button
yup, am4 mobo must have a flash bios support somewhere
to avoid any bad luck on the shelf
I cant afford the extra 50 for b550
maybe you wont need it after all, but better safe than sorry
You have a 200 budget lol
Huh?
as long as it has bios flashback
What you mean you can't
X570 is usually more costly than b550
but no reason to buy new b450
Ok bracket has been ordered

used b450 is so cheap now
Amazon prime one day is saving me
That was assuming I refund cpu instead of replace

what cpu is it
Refund which cpu??
5600

So how much can you spend?
100ish
Was it a tower
I thought my board had no bclk control

but it just has no bclk control on locked cpus
so once I upgrade I will no longer be stuck at 99.76mhz
no more ddr4-3590 lmao
Preferably under 100
Cheapest with bios flash and wifi
check used market
b450 is ancient tech
I've seen decent b450s that could run 5950x for $30ish
Used you could get the seller to update bios for a few bucks
Then get a much cheaper board
I could probably do that
lol ok just checked hws and some clown is asking $200 for a midrange x470
Hws?
Oh
ebay is also decent for motherboards
I got an insane deal for my mobo on ebay
$100 shipped for msi z690-a pro ddr4
perfect functional and cosmetic condition
not even a single thermal paste stain in sight
you can filter them out
It seemed to be seperate anyways
replacing socket is a bit harder than you think lol
The thin plastic piece?
how are your micro soldering skills?
if it was easy nobody would sell bent pin boards as is
Not easy
that thin plastic piece is there to protect very tiny and very breakable pins
That plastic piece can come out tho but at this point that board is pretty butchered
You're already running single channel
Single channel on ryzen at that
current board might be fixable enough to get back into dual channel
Maybe
is single channel on intel really any better
On cpu or board?
A double S
I don't think I have german keyboard on my phone LOL
yeah I dunno
damn it felix
now you making me want to pop out one of my dimms and bench some 16gb single channel b-die
on an i3
with a 3090
CPU bottleneck let's gooo

Not as bad as 10100 and 3090
I am almost certain that dual channel 10100 beats single channel 12100
Do single channel but them RAM OC it as tight as it goes
it's already running really good ram for a 12100
3733 CL11
Missed that part
I mean
this kit runs 3733c12 at 2 volts
so how much does it need for c11
lmao
maybe 3733c11 at 2.2v
2.2 and cold probably
Funny watt joke
it was in a custom loop
so I dunno
probably not that bad
Never hot enough probably
For benching anyway
it was a bit of a worst case scenario
Can someone find me a board cpu combo under 200?
6core preferably
12100f msi b660m-p
Get an updated bios 2nd hand board or get the pro-vdm wifi
And you won't consider used?
I mean it won't kill you to use your current board as is
Yea
you should try to clean it
What's the current board?
and see if you can get the second channel back
How to clean it tho
some board with a messed up socket that can only do single channel
The thermal*
@mossy venture
Ah
isopropyl alcohol
Dayum
B450
I thought my breaking the pcie lock was bad
I thought popping out my socket was bad
you don't want to know how many 3090s seby broke if you think that's a flex
Why is it failing to send pic
vrm explosion moment

"Bad network request"
Trying to send pic of under plastic where broke off if any bent
I only see what I believe to be sockets tho
Anyone there?
Discord might think it's explicit for some reason
How
Try another pic
It told me my hand with a Swiss army knife was explicit and didn't let me send
Editing the picture to be smaller let it post
If you got something in the socket and need to clean it out, isopropyl alcohol and maybe use a needle or toothpick
XD
3 pins on the corner?
Well yes from what I can see
Usually on pga you check the cpu pins not the socket pins
Yea
There's also
So if I put cpu in with it like that it be fine?
I don't have enough experience at this level to say it's fine but probably?
bruh
XD
what did i just read smh
You didnt see it
Not literally wash but clean
That makes 10x better

XD
Honestly dont care if its a downgrade from 5600 aslong as not worse than a 3600 if replace board and cpu
For 200
I was running a 3500x before the 5600
For a b550m steel legend

yeah i wouldn't buy it
if it was a1 or b1 maybe worth
if you already have a dac
or bt headphones
12100f is similar to the 3600
Not much better
Tbh I think Im just gonna buy a ps5
Save up
By the time I save up should be in stock
what kinda speeds would i get from an external hard drive
I used to get around 25mb/s with the one i used
would that be okay for games
Sure
Not a single one that I know of
Closest to those parameters would be sn770 I believe
Talkig nvme or regular ssds?
Talking*
Nvme
Or maybe it was 750 that was 4tb, but that thing is a joke of a gen 4 drive
sad P41 isnt 4TB
That would likely cost over $700
That ssd is not the singular best gen 4 drive
Only 4tb gen 4 drive I know of https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tPpzK8/western-digital-black-sn750-4-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-wds400t3x0c
Which is more expensive than an 8tb 870 qvo
Almost twice the price of 2 2tb s70s
https://i.imgur.com/vURXE0W.png best buy has this
but what about like 850 or something esle
Could be wrong on that
The sn850?
There is no 4tb version
hm
What are you doing to need a 4tb gen 4 anyways
I wanna download my games and other stuff
so I'm trying to build a pc mainly focusing at 1440p but I'm trying to decide what cpu+gpu combo is best for me, I am on budget of $1500 max for an entire pc. The current combos I have in mind are Ryzen 7 5800x + rx6700xt and i5 12400f + rx6800, could someone help me decide which i should get or any other suggestions you may have.
And that requires a gen 4 drive for why?
12400f and 6900xt.
you completely ignored the $1500 budget part
Gen 4 for games is the same as buying a 3090 for minecraft
Where.
well my computer comes with 4.0 slot i wanna fill it with 4.0
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Can even get a 12600kf and pa120
Didn't ignore anything
My computer also has the ability to run a 12900ks and 3090 ti, but that doesn't mean there's a use for one.
@empty gyro
anyone know a decent Prebuilt around 5-700$ that comes in white
Only build you'll get for that budget is this https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/871406424
And upgrade ram and add a 2tb hdd
Case is ass but best you'll do
Ye
no bottlenecks???
It is impossible to have a pc without a bottleneck, by definition
But no, the 12400f is enough for a 3090 ti
And you can get a 12600kf with a peerless assassin 120 for the cooler if you'd like, would still fit in budget
And there's a $720 3080 12gb as well, if you'd prefer nvidia
honestly don't think the person is up to doing anything to it or having anything done to it
That is pretty much their only option
It's a single ram stick being clicked in and two cables
If they can't do that then idk what to tell them
Like, put the pc on its side and push on a rectangle
Plug two cables into a hard drive and plug one into the motherboard,
what about for 1k? same deal?
No, one second
I think 850 is the budget, or like near it, probably about 1k, but they need a whole setup, so 💀
That budget is very difficult for pre builts
Nothing would be better than that Walmart build, and as I said it is extremely easy to do the two upgrades it would need, and it also leaves plenty of room for peripherals and monitor
the person isn't computer savvy at all
they on even know what the parts are prolly called or nothing like that
If anything they'd bring it to me or someone else to do it which I think was already off the table cause I already suggested doing a whole build for them and they said nah 🤷♀️
Idk what to tell you
It's either completely compromise on performance, spend more, or watch two YouTube videos and deal with it
Could also do that build and use an external hard drive...
For ram would need to add in the extra stick though
Not much of an alternative choice for that part
yeah idk, seems like laziness to me
i was doing stuff like that at 8 years old
was probably just as clueless too
I pulled my first build apart with literally no knowledge of pcs
Though to be fair I did then take the backplate off my gpu thinking it was part of the case lmao
I took my first one apart too
Nearly ripped the gpu out of the pcie slot lmfao
(I didn't but I almost did)
I did however fry an rgb strip
I stuck a 4 pin corsair rgb fan into a 4 pin 12v rgb plug thinking "oh it's just a different rgb plug" and killed it
I broke my pcie lock because I didn't undo it all the way
That was just a few months ago lol
how much y'all think i could get for a Gigabyte 3060 ti OC that i paid $850 for 3 months ago?
Depends on where you're at
Maybe less
350-400, just check ebay sold listings
location wise? darn i thought i mentioned it
canada
Oh
Ah
600-ish?
500+, again check ebay sold listings
Better do it soon cos the nvidia price drops are coming
is that extra 2gb of vram worth the extra $200? lol
Depends on price diff. $200 not at all
50? Yes
Though there is a bit more of a difference between the two than just the vram
100? Meh, yeah?
Yea about 75 is where I stop smiling lol
what y'all think of this build? buddy wants to build and it's over his budget but i think it's the best bang for his buck https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/wvillain/saved/#view=J7pnpg
Saved Part Lists
Didn't share the right link
ffs
Also what's his budget
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Deepcool MATREXX 55 MESH ADD-RGB 4F ATX Mid Tower
1200 after taxes, so 1050 before taxes
nothing on there has vuugo?
case has 3 fans with it and prime shipping, psu is the cheapest i can find out there that's half decent
Doesn't have gpu yet https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/TMRh2m
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
Bq is fine enough under 750w
Wait the bq is vuugo
Ffs
Ok got it https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/v7zsMb
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower
@j.#6910
Tf
Discord you suck
@high yew
Actually prolly worth dropping back down to 6600xt to get a 1tb ssd
Whatever the cheapest is between mp33, sn550, and sn570 pretty much
Is having my cpu just exposed to air a bad thing?
as in?
Waiting for a part for my aio to come in and in the mean time it’s just there
Is that an issue?
nah
No? The clamshell case they come in isn't even airtight.
Ok just making sure
My computer isn’t together at all right now so there is no chance of me turning it on
Because with how my case is my aio has to be installed first
Air isn't an issue for CPUs, the IHS is nickel plated so it doesn't rust or corrode
Deepcool castle I wanna say
Now I have a cooler master master liquid
And this is coming at some point in the next 21 hours
kachow
Nah we rma'd the parts
Damn, sorry to hear that. I was worried that'd be necessary
Alr what are your thoughts, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LXHDnt
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Memory is very expensive would pick better psu
Wdym by better psu, its A tier
Its too expensive for a tier 650w
Can you give me a better one?
By 5$, but it comes with 3 rgb fans
And you can also top mount 360mm radiators
What abt this memory instead its $113
I'd do this if the rgb is enough for you
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MJbfVw
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
If not yeah I'd get that ram
Np
Im thinking of getting like a foot long led strip and attaching it to the bottom of my case to give it a nice under glow effect
Do you think i could just attach it via usb to the mobo?
I mean you just stick it to the bottom and have the wire run up the back to one of the mobo usb ports
Assuming it's a usb led strip sure
Btw consider this for 10$ more
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6ft9TW/gigabyte-b660m-aorus-pro-ax-ddr4-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b660m-aorus-pro-ax-ddr4
If you need more io
@fossil cedar what abt this case
It's okay although for 60$ my pick would usually be mx330 g air
do
not
buy
3600mt/s
ram
with
locked
12th
gen
you too, stop it
Oh yeah get the 3200c16 version of it for a few $ less
Pog
@earnest olive what's the problem w it on locked 12th gen?
I assumed smth like 3600c16 is fine although you might not be able to do 4000
the chance of running it in gear 1 is very low
Really?
3200c22 will almost always outperform 3600c16
I thought the imc was supposed to be good
in fact some samples cannot even do 3200g1
but that's rare enough that we can still recommend 3200 over 3000
the IMC is good
the problem is that intel has artificially limited it this gen
???
if you have non-k cpu your VCCSA is capped at less than 1 volt
even if you have z690
What about b660 +k?
that works
K sku should be fine
it's board dependent
you cannot change it from auto at all
Bruh
It's wack
