lemme tell ya, having a pc in your room in the winter is the best thing ever
No monitor signal
a poop
uh oh
im excited to see how much this expensive space heater works
lol
It says d4002
my room is on a regular basis like 10 degrees hotter than the rest of my house
and I absolutely love it
in the winter?
just always
oh same
but it's the best in the winter
winter its always colder like 10-15 degrees
Got it working
nice
dang i cut myself tryna use this balisong
I wasn't sure if it was my cable or motherboard's transfering speed
update them
depends.. my room gets heated up 10 degrees when I play games
But I am assuming it's the ram
Lol, gpu doesn't show up in task manager
very large icons
bro i cant have more than 3 icons on my desktop
that's the no driver experience
Would require me to ddu when I put my 3060 ti back in
and theyre in the corners of my monitors
800x600
Wait crap
put in both gpus
If I want to post it in hws I need a ss
yep
Of the gpuz
my desktop has a fair few icons on it
I have tons of icons and they are all organized in little groups all over my screen XD
Oh pog
3 icons i cant show my background here so little snip of it
LOL
Welp, time to unplug my 12 cables again
might mount an aio with tape ngl
Also have to find that screw
'
this one has slightly fewer icons on it
jeeze
BRUH
its only 50c
only? at 8% usage?
oh i was playing games a bit ago
i didnt close the game i just muted it
i closed it when i took the picture of the background
That screw is gone
rip
bro....
It's gone
well.. stop screwing around then
why on a blanket
xD
I have literally only ever checked my temps once
lmao I got you beat
ooof. I monitor my temps 24/7
48 degrees at a 3% load
gotta click the comma
right before the pic icon
reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee whiiiiiiittteeee
oh thx
120mm aio don't go brrrrr

I open this app maybe once a month shut up
lol
still
too much effort to change it
I don't think it's a waste
i mean its only graphics updated so
I already have it from when it first came out
didnt it release today?
not the remastered one I have the original one
idk anything about the remastered one
wait if you have the original why would you buy the remastered
that is an awful use of $60
the game?
@broken lake
teardown is fuuuunnn
yea
fun for like an hour
shame my laptop's cpu can't handle it
then it gets boring
i would say it's worth the price tag
So the vega 56 is only partially working
Do I make someone's day and sell for $50 or keep as backup
it's kinda like minecraft
for what I paid it was good
sell to me
something you play for a bit
ive watched smii7y play it
but thats mostly making content for money so not reliable for a recommondation of "its fun"
is it coop or single
I think ima make someone's day
single
oh wack nvm then
make my day and send me a 3090ti XD
why does "Stray" have cyberpunk as a player tag
make sure its fe edition
Welp
my c drive at 400gb used
I am wiping my ssd tomorrow to build a new pc with it
can someone recommend a game
i think so
Final Fantasy 14
If mmo isn't your thing.. FF7 remake intergrade
raft kinda drew my attention
raft is fun
yea im guessing with friends tho
I have enjoyed both
i like to do those type of games with other people
RuneScape 3
if you have friends you can play with I would def recommend playing it with friends but it is enjoyable either way
I has no friends
very
SAMEEEEEEEEE
but the world file i been playing on is on my friends pc
making a post to hws now
no.
no im 4th grade
I'd like to think I am.. does that mean I am? Probs not.
ik im not i couldnt graduate so im down below that
gl
can i see it
posted it for $60 local, hoping to make someones day
how much to ship
if someone feels like they want it shipped, did $125
hmm
im looking for someone local before i consider shipping
lmk
which is why it's twice as expensive to ship it
Kinda sounds like beamng drive ripoff lol
just wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. Computer getting slow when opening premier pro or any other adobe aps. Wondering if it is the gpu or the cpu. Have a 3700x with a 5700xt Right now
Ups finally stopped being annoying
My case got out of the severe weather and is coming Tuesday
God damn it all my parts are at my house now but I have work for 6 more hours
patience
I bought a steering wheel to play forza and some other games and I was wondering if it was any good for a starter got it for 80 it is a Ferrari t80 488 gtb
Brand new
Hello I need help with a build and getting the same performance or better for cheaper :>
can you return the 11900k and z590?
No
:(
I bought the 11900k which was dumb but it was on sale for around 270
@fossil cedar
I can't return the 11900k and z590
shame 1 sec
That is a thing I do not have
would do this, 6700 is only like 5% less gpu for 50$ less https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8T9rpH
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-11900K, Radeon RX 6700, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
I was always gonna get the gpu 😅 not atm tho rn im using a zotac GeForce 1060 6gb mini
Thought it was like 11% worse
1 sec
Wait tho
Mm?
Will you be able to do it off a 1060
Nothing would change, just carry over the 1060 till you can buy a new gpu
Yeah that was the plan
Then legit only difference is 1060 instead of 6700
So I can use those same part just with the 1060 ?
Also an argument could be made to get the p6 850, if you want to go for a 4070 or similar
Though it'd need an adapter
Wait pato
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/q8wcBj actually yeah id do this
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-11900K, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Well I was planning on upgrading to a 6700xt or a 3080
I've seen a lot saying 40 series will be atx 3.0, but nothing about 7000 series
just wait for next gen gpu
Any input pato?
id do this tghen https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bMd9nt
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-11900K, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Also what's the price on the p6?
afaik it should be but will probably be shipped with adapters
Yeah probably
Another question that you probably won't know the answer to: will adapters be universal between psus?
p6 850w?
Yeah
12-
I'd assume not because pinouts
Ah ok
120
Was like 95 earlier
yes because theyll be like extensions
Oh cool
So should I just go for this build
Yes
yeah i would then use 1060 til next gen gpus
Alr fs
I'm trying to just be able to play most games with mid graphics and still run 60 fps
I was so restricted with my old build I could barely play minecraft since it was so old
thats a nice build minecraft will do great on it even with a 1060
You think I can run something like gta?
P-perhaps
Alr
I got this in the mail today
Is it possible to install windows without a flash drive or do I need one?
Need either flash drive or cd disk + disk player
Ok so I need to make a pit stop to Walmart on my way home
How big does the drive have to be?
For the flash drive for installing windows, 8gb+ is enough
Ok thanks
youll be fine with a phillips head
just make sure its not too fine of a tip
Cool
Magnetic tip can be really nice
Most stuff will be thumb screws or a normal sized Phillips head, nvme drives will need a smaller head
Ok that’s good to know
a finer tip works too
TMI
🤨
what is the easiest way to wipe an ssd
dban is a software to completely write a drive
it's pretty effective
but hammer is indeed easiest
all you have to do is a couple whams
I never used it
but
easiest is to just format it
no need for dban
dban is only for when you're selling the drive
it takes a long time too
Questions with what I'm doing now and stuff is 4000 series really worth it for someone who can't even see past 60hz
Like they just add performance into new gpus but we just have 1440 screen isn't last gen okay too
Bc I was looking at either 6800xt/6900xt or 3080/3090 gpus
Either get a 6900XT for $700ish or wait for 4070 or w/e is $600-700, but I don't see any point spending $700+ for anything currently out unless perhaps a 3090 on some weird sale.
Okay I'm gunna be straight with you I wanted a gpu with an AIO with what I found online
6900xt is $999
6950xt is $1299
3090 is $1299
3090 Ti is $1500 ik evga has some sales but I missed out
I'm just gonna ask here so: I already have a guess but I want confirmation. I have upgraded my pc recently to a rx 6900 xt, i7 12700f, 32gb ram and I still lag while playing VR. my best guess is my cable or motherboard transfer speed is too slow. any ideas?
I use a quest 2 with the official link cable and my motherboard has 10gbs transfer speed
I know this might not be the best place to ask this kind of question but I have gotten good help for stuff like this in the past
Ahhh my ram isnt going in and I don’t wanna force it
I had the same thing earlier today with my new ram and I shoved it in and hoped for the best
ended up fine
That’s what I just did
Also probably a stupid question but I was told I could build my pc without a case and it would be better for testing and stuff but how would I turn it on?
Short the power pins
If it doesn't have power button
The power pins of the mobo of course
Put like a spoon on them
Anything metallic
Ok
I'm just using the panel from my old case
Are the locks open?
Yea
You lined up the notch?
How do I tell if I have LGA 1200 or LGA1700?
Not to say newegg is totally right always, but their listings sometimes say. (basically 600 series is lga1700, 500/400 is lga 1200, z690/b660/h670 vs z590/b560/h570 w/e)
I am lost again
My aio instructions say to plug the aio into CPU_OPT but the plug doesn’t fit into that
3 pin plug can go on 4 pin header
But it has something around it and it doesn’t fit into that
try the other 3 pins
It tells me to plug this into this
Unless I’m just an idiot
Can someone help me figure this out
I'm guessing you're trying to plug it in upside down if that helps
That is a weird looking header but yeah you might have it backwards or on the wrong set of pins
I just connected it to a splitter with my fans
That works.
Is there maybe another cable or an adapter that came with the board that would fit that header?
Don’t think so
those are some wack looking fan headers
I like the idea behind that board, adding a daughterboard to compensate for ITX limits
Is that the smaller board on top?
Yeah
The one they call BTB
It's kinda genius using that to add headers and M.2 slots
Is there something that would show me what I have to plug into my psu?
Not sure exactly what needs to be plugged in
https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/M4dbyK I built this list for a friend, hes in NZ and has a budget of around 3000-4000. Lmk if you would make any changes
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Lian Li Lancool II Mesh ATX Mid Tower
The motherboard has the big 24 pin connector, the CPU has the 8 pins top left, and then the GPU. That's typically all you need for power, unless you have extras like SATA drives or a fan hub.
Ok cool
OH @broken lake top left by the CPU plug is the standard fan header
if he has a budget of 4000 u can put a 4090 ti
Yea I was using that for the fans on the aio so I put a splitter on it and I am now using it for both
Ok
Exlusively treaming SOT at 1440p might as well save some
4000 NZ, not usd too
o
Like 2500 usd
alr
Ok I think I’m ready to turn this thing on
But idk how to short out the power connector or whatever I was told to do
@potent portal do you know how to do that?
Where are the power pins?
They're on the f_panel, and usually it's printed on the board
I found it
What are you going to use it for? What's your budget? Will you be using multiple high end M.2 drives? How much overclocking will you be doing?
Yeah they're dead quiet to me too, even at full speed
3.7k
im using a ryzen 9 5950x
for gaming and editing
and some school work
but i was just asking
i returned my intel chip
Should still be fine on a b550, like aorus pro if you plan to oc
and graphics card
Does anyone know why I’m still getting Alienware stuff after I built my new pc?
Could that be built into the gpu?
Or would it more likely be the ssd
Some things might trigger alienware to pop up if it's built-in
e.g the alienware monitor I used to have would auto install that alienfx display software every time it was plugged in, even if I didn't want it to
Oh so it’s probably my monitor?
Yeah if you've got one it would be that
Ah
One of these three would be great, pick your favorite. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/BYBhP6,7HjNnQ,pnqBD3/
ASRock B550 Steel Legend ATX AM4 Motherboard vs. Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard vs. Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard
This at 130 is also nice
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nHxbt6/gigabyte-x570-aorus-elite-atx-am4-motherboard-x570-aorus-elite
what do you guys think of this? need some input. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tcT4Zw
That most of it is a waste of money
oh rly? pls educate me. first time building a pc, so idk what it should be.
Ddr5 is a waste of money, that mobo is super overpriced, if you're not overclocking cpu no point to a k cpu or a z690, ssd is overpriced, aio is meh, liquid freezer ii 360 argb is cheaper and better, psu is super overpriced
This instead for nearly half
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Qhh9nt
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower
You're within 5% of the performance for nearly half the price
In most cases that'll even perform better, because the gpu is the 3080 12gb instead of 10gb
Gaming cases anyways, unless for whatever god forsaken reason you're playing at 1080p
12900K and DDR5 is an immediate money sink, and Z690 strix isn't even on the map for most early adopters
O11 air mini is a better value spend, comes with fans, CLC 280 is also a perfect fit for it, Power supply is a better quality. P12's are also dead quiet and infinitely better than LL120's (They also have an rgb version)
980 pro is buying into marketing, good drive yes but unless you're doing like 4k video scrubbing or large data management daily you will barely notice any difference over an MP33
P41 also beats it
Yup, those are more effective choices over a 980
Wait I put p12's not P14's oops
Kek

thank you friends @cyan ravine and @mossy venture
Np
Assuming you really want o11 (if not swap for p500a or 5000d airflow) and really want top of the line (and a lot of rgb)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/D8ph2m
But otherwise I'd just do this, like 5% worse for hundreds less
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HFR4PX
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-12900K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower

I have an external device with both USB A and a USB C port, the USB C was sheared of the mother board, can I still charge the device with a double male USB A cable or is it trash?
That depends on the device in question, some will be wired to only charge from a specific port.
Is there a way I can look that up or trace the circuit board?
What's the model number? It'll often say in the manual
It’s a JYX-66BT external speaker
It looks like the USB A port is only for connecting to externals and not for charging unfortunately
Yep it's labeled as 5V input in the manual, separate from the USB. Bad luck, sorry.
Yah, thanks for the info though, much appreciated!
@fossil cedar appreciate all the help with parts and everything
It works great
Case is coming in tomorrow
No glad to help
Yep
nice
Ok I might be stupid but why is my computer not letting me connect to wifi?
No
Does it come with antennas?
This thing?
Yep this is the antenna
Next thing on my list is probably new antennas because this is obnoxious
Does it matter which connector goes to each connection?
If windows didn't auto detect drivers you might need to download them on a different pc then put them on a usb or something
Antennas just improve signal, should work weaker without
Ok well the antenna is connected so we about to find out
Also what is this?
Ok so how do I do the drivers thing?
Asus board momen?
Gigabyte board has app center too
Aorus board
Go to a different pc, google your board by name, go to the site, then support then choose OS then download driver
Then put on usb stick into new pc
Hey can someone help me out? The CPU light on my mobo is red but my pc is running at good temp and everything seems fine?
Is a 16 gb usb big enough for that?
If everything is working fine prolly just a false positive
Is there a way to reset the light or smth like a check engine light?
Which one do I do?
I don't think so
Scroll down
ok ty
Also change to windows 11, i assume you're going windows 11, what cpu did you get again 12600k?
Should be called like wifi or something along those lines
12600k
If you're going 12600k or up you wanna use windows 11 to take proper use of the e cores
Windows 10 doesn't have the scheduler yet :/
I’ve had issues in the past not being able to play some games on windows 11
Also many options here
Probably want top and bottom
So I just plug the usb in and it works or do I have to do something else?
You have to run the drivers install
good
Hey, i have a short question and i am not the pc specialist:
https://www.newegg.com/asus-geforce-rtx-3060-rog-strix-rtx3060-o12g-v2-gaming/p/N82E16814126522?Description=3060&cm_re=3060-_-14-126-522-_-Product
i like to buy this card and like to know if this one fit into my PC:
HP Z240 Tower Workstation
at the moment i have the nvidia K620in> Thank you for your help
cant say for sure if it will fit in the workstation but if you opened the side panel and took a pic I could get a better guess
3 fan probably won't, 2 fan might
is the same or better ? and thanks for the recomidation
3060ti is around 20-25% better than 3060
i will make the picture tomorrow and get back to you
is yours the larger of the two cases
great than i switch over to the 3060i
the right one the white one not the slim
yes this is my one
yeah you should probably be able to fit a gpu in there
airflow won't be good though
Psu likely is not enough
hm how i can fix the air problem ?
Would require a whole new case, which would likely require a new motherboard and power supply
But if you need a new power supply you'd need a new case anyways
ok than i have to switch over and ask what card fit in the pc that i have with the option to get 4 monitors on it
no
What’s the best site to go to when trying to buy a pc??????
Then no reason to be looking at a 3060 ti
i make 70% office work
Abs on newegg
and 30 is photoshop
Depends on your budget
Picture size and areas lighter maybe 4 layers. That’s it
I dont know much about photoshop, but it sounds like a 1650 would be enough
And would also be fine on that psu
Gtx 1650
I find it only with 3 monitors
Yeah, your best bet will be buying used
great. I will tomorrow to find it.
Most I'd pay for it is $150
Newegg have it for 319
Yeah... I'd suggest buying used
You know a good place to buy it ?
This also has 4 display outs https://pcpartpicker.com/product/wdvdnQ/xfx-radeon-rx-6600-8-gb-speedster-swft-210-video-card-rx-66xl8lfdq
Ebay would be a decent place
Is 6 or 8ggb better
Vram doesn't really matter for your use case
Thank you for all your help
Recommendations?
It was working fine
Then I went to install the Nvidia drivers and it restarted and now I’m getting this
ok now it is working again but it is showing the complete wrong date and time
Clear your CMOS and sync the time from inside Windows. If the time still resets itself after you leave it unplugged for a few minutes after that then you've either got a bad battery or a bad motherboard. Start with the battery in that case.
Should I be worried about my gpu sagging a little or is it fine?
Yeah, if you want, you can build a little sag bracket out of Legos or buy a sag bracket
Doesn't look too extreme altho it is a thick boi card
I wouldn't be too worried about it tho
is 66 degrees normal for a gpu?
100%
cool
what is a good way to test a new computer?
like is there a common bench mark that people usually use?
3dmark time spy
it's free on steam as demo version
you can skip the movie before the actual bench with alt+f4
For testing a computer the demo is still good because it warms everything up first
ye
I like WD ssds
nice UI
why stuff have to be sold oput
whats diffrence from 4x4 and 3x4
I need ssd to download mu big games
4x4 is pcie gen 4
3x4 is pcie gen 3
The first number is the gen and the second one is the lanes
so they both have same lanes
Yes but the perf between those two drives is quite big in some cases
*rare cases
Not much to a gamer
Ok so I plugged in my old computer to see if it still works and whenever I turn it on it does this
Any ideas on why or how to stop it?

It's not just a gen thing but also the drives are quite different
Maybe a half second difference in load times
https://i.imgur.com/PmtvrZz.png well they have this
I had this drive fore but 1TB i liked the UI for it
Uninstall all the Alienware bloat
And after it finishes it says this
Like a mp33 pro or something (or upgrade to s70 [blade])
should i just get 2x2TB ssds and sell my 1TB
How much more space do you need
i would like 4TB in my laptop
Delete all the partitions and reinstall windows
What does that mean?
so either i can do 2x2TB ssds or buy 1x4TB ssd
What laptop is it?
It's saying it can't find the OS and it looks like a recovery image is loaded
Could be worth looking at a p31/p41 for 2tb of storage upgrade
Very efficient drives
now do I go 3x4 or 4x4 would be nice to go 4x4 bc laptops supports the fast speeds windows go brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Kinda depends what you plan to store on it and all that
everything
Also not sure if the secondary slot supports gen 4
brb
Falcie could probs help look around, I'm on mobile currently so can't really look around
Whenever I turn this pc on it doesn’t even let me into bios
nice but i didnt get speed info brb again
https://i.imgur.com/dOshOHo.png give me a moment this info doesnt look right
let me talk to legion peeps
https://i.imgur.com/Y0gocJY.png my gpu isnt listed HAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I'm stuck on mobile too until my RMA is done on my motherboard. It's been 3 weeks...
I can look around
Asus board?
What’s rma
Returning a faulty part and having it replaced
All good
https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Legion/Legion_5_Pro_16IAH7H?M=82RF006XUS @potent portal @desert gulch
found it
why wont my graphics card show up on my color changing software? I have a MSI Radeon RX 6900 xt gaming trio. I am trying to use AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series RGB LED software
you probably need to use msi software
https://i.imgur.com/97QZH6M.png i think this is ssd inside my pc
@obsidian wigeon do you think you could help me whats difference from WD 770 vs 850
770 is lower end
https://i.imgur.com/sVJxmYw.png would you save on the $30
yea but its gen 3 im looking at gen 4
S70 is not gen 3
well on best buy site
Why
idk if i can shop other places
S70 is $240 on best buy
https://i.imgur.com/GIPQtAM.png
https://i.imgur.com/y5dNWJq.png well we have these i looking at
Which is overpriced
whats S70
An ssd?
https://i.imgur.com/FBBOp2o.png oh this
Why are you limited to best buy?
Because https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qCqPxr/adata-xpg-gammix-s70-blade-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-agammixs70b-2t-cs
Or https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yGTp99/sk-hynix-platinum-p41-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-shpp41-2000gm-2
the SK is $259
the XPG is $209
Yes, it's the best gen 4 drive
SN850 is also good
gets 7000MB/s just like the SK hynix
More to ssds than speeds
with 176-Layer NAND Flash whats this
Can I ask why you're limited to bb?
like what bc im sure SN850 is good all around i had 750 didnt fail on me once
I'm half sure I understand what you were trying to say
The sn850 is not a bad ssd by any measure
It's just overpriced
its just priced $239
for 2TB
Mhm
cause i say this i saw 2TB i think gen 3 ssds like $200
we have XPG 2TB at $209
SN850 at $239
SK hynix Platinum P41 at $259
2tb mp33 pro is $147
2tb p31, which in gaming loads is better than s70 and sn850, is $200
Making a generalization of gen 3 ssds as a whole isn't very fair, because there's ssds like p31 and then ssds like the p2
I like WD UI tho for there ssds
i just meant the good ones
Sigh
i got a list from luke once
Mp33 pro objectively is good
970 Evo plus is $190
I like Samsung UI too
gen 3
i was talking about price
....and so was i?
haha
Experience the breakthrough upgrade from a global tech pioneer. SK hynix Platinum P41 delivers the 176-layer NAND, fastest-in-class speed, easy data migration, and 5-year warranty. The latest innovation from the world’s second-largest memory maker, Platinum P41 is designed to provide striking per...
P41 is the single best gen 4 drive
When considering spending $240 on an sn850, id just go for the p41 instead
Though if you're gaming and such you likely will not notice a difference between the p41 and mp33
little expensive i wanted to get 2x2TB gen 4 ssds thats why i went after SN850 bc i could get 2 of them
Aside from install speeds and boot time
2xs70
is NAND flash good for anything
Not a clue
@bitter mason didnt you have a SK hynix Platinum P41
i remeber seeeing pic
https://i.imgur.com/e4yI2iF.png @mossy venture BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
looks pretty

ik you said this 2 days ago but we continue looking at ssds
question
can 3.0 ssd run in 4.0 slot
does game storage neeed dram
@earnest olive i'll ping you bc i need answer before bed so i can send it
ugh its 1am i need sleep
3.0 ssd can run in 4.0 slot
well are all SSDs backwards compatible
Dram affects sequential speeds mainly, which are near irrelevant for gaming
Which is why mp33 is a great choice for builds, dramless and cheap but still great for games
Dram doesn't really affect seq speeds directly, dramless drives usually doing lower rated seq is mainly the controller's fault
Depends on the 1030
Once again I want the 4 HDMI gt710 to come back lol
s it convenient to have 2 512gb ssd or just one and another hdd but 5tb?
I like 1tb SSD as boot drive and adding whatever more storage you need afterwards
A mp33 1tb is like 69$, it's really not that expensive
Can you send the link where you saw the price?
What else do you keep on the boot drive besides the OS?
Iirc they're not in the us so prices will differ
Games
But definitely only 1 1tb or 1 500gb ssd
Ok sweet
TEAMGROUP MP33 M.2 PCIe Solid State Drive uses a high-speed PCIe Gen3 x4 interface and complies with the NVMe 1.3 standard. With 3D NAND flash memory, the transfer speed is 3 times faster than SATA III. Suitable for players who have needs in speed, and it is the top choice when it comes to upgrad...
ty bro
I do but 12900k build is still a bit of a mess
i got my steering wheel today and its not connecting
i have tried reinstalling drivers
USB?
ye
Try other ports, preferably 2.0
maybe the game isnt compatible?
i was playing forza 5
Possibly, what input method is it using?
If you don't know what model so I can look it up
This one?
Thrustmaster T80 Ferrari 488 GTB (PS5,PS4,PC) https://a.co/d/eBJ1RdI
Thrustmaster is proud to introduce its 8:10 scale replica of the genuine Ferrari 488 GTB wheel, officially licensed by Ferrari and PlayStation 4, and designed to provide total realism in all PlayStation 4 racing games that support wheels. Also compatible with PC (Windows 7/8/10), this new Thrustm...
yup
Seems like you're not the only one having issues with that wheel paired with that game
am i doing something wrong
Forza 4 works but 5 only half the functions work
i downloaded dirt 5
4 seems to work ok
ok im downloding it
alr thanks i thought it was broken
Didnt work
Im gonna hopfully get a reply from the staff and see if thye can help me out
@fossil cedar I have found the first issue
The aio is way too tall XD
Doesn’t quite fit
Is this any good?
Enermax Liqmax III 240 RGB AIO CPU Liquid Cooler - 240mm Radiator, 120mm RGB PWM Fan, for Intel/AMD, 5 Year Warranty (w/ LGA1700 Bracket) https://a.co/d/iQew0QI
@broken lake which aio is that in the pic?
If that's the galahad I believe you can just take the top off
Ah ok
Can you guys help me find a good aio that fits in this pc that doesn’t cost a million dollars
EVGA CLC
Weird
Enermax has had some issues with AIOs failing in the recent past iirc.
I wouldn't trust them
It wasn't an all caps message btw that's actually how the brand and model are capitalized
It’s an sff pc
Rare sight of an angry fal'cie demmit
Still that AIO is tall because???
What case
Lian li a4 h2o
ML240L V2 would be cheap-ish
Indeed. I have the V1 with the old fans that died, the V2 fixed that.
Should be like $75
I still use a V2. On it's 3rd year no problems
It saturates a comfortable 202W on a 10th gen lol
I originally got mine for a 2700 but it's fine for even my 5800X when gaming
360 version?
240
are we talking about V1 and V2 xeons perhaps 🧐
I did swap the fans for P12 ofc
@broken lake CM ML240L V2 if you can find it
Wegg usually has it cheap
Yep they got it for $75 on marketplace, called it
It's the 4 pin RGB model, not a-rgb
This the right one?
Kinda mid for that price ngl
Well it needs to fit in my case
Yeah that's it, try the newegg link above

It doesn’t fit
He tried it, dun fit
Ah
Too tall
We're referring to this list
What cpu btw?
I can't remember
I’m thinking I’ll probably order off of Amazon because 2 day shipping
Plus I can just use the refund for this one to get that one
12600k
Ah it'll be alright, you can manage maybe a mild OC with a 240
Better off undervolting it if you want any extra performance
Yep that's how I've got my temps under control with it
Ok I ordered the shorter one
I’m gonna put it together using this one for now
And just not put the side panel on
Oh so you never tried the speeds
@potent portal question what difference from getting fast speed ssd or putting cache into ssd tomie put ram into cache and it made ssd go brrrrrrrrr
I'm ofc with my small 16GB ram I could only cache 4GB sadly but if I get 32GB I can use more ram 😛
Ram is ram for a reason, it's not storage, once you turn off the PC, whatever was on the ram is going to be gone, writing onto the ram might be fast, but you still have to write it onto storage to store it, which goes at the speed of the drive

https://i.imgur.com/UnLPS3Z.png @stoic island this is what tomie downloaded
not yet sorry lol
oh
Ye I know what primocache is
RAM cache can be fun to play with but it's risky to use since if you suddenly lose power or blue screen all that data is lost
Yea they said power lose can be bad so getting UPS work ?
That's better than not having one but still doesn't protect you from sudden shutdowns or blue screens
Hi guys, I’m a rookie at pc builds and finally planning to get one after years of pushing to the side, can someone help me try to build one? All I know is I want a 3000 series gpu
How soon are you looking to build? Next gen is due in 2 months or so
And what's your budget?
That budget gets you a pretty high end build right now, probably a 12600k and 3080 12gb
Unless someone here is selling a used pc that I can buy w the 3000 gpu
No buying it selling in this discord, sorry
no problem got it
I'll put a list together though
Thank you I also need help with finding a monitor that works well with it
Colorful lights you can set the color, pattern, and brightness on
thanks @potent portal for your help!
Oh and this is USD right?
yeah usd
Cool, give me a couple minutes
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
- unswooshes then swooshes again *

Thank you, I’ll look into it!
wait for Fal'cie tho, always good to cross-check in case someone else finds something better
will do!
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
You could always upgrade to the 12700f like Felix suggested but personally I don't think it's worth it
I'm glad we agree that's the best GPU option right now though
@wintry lodge Sales change frequently so I'd consider these lists good for the next week at most
the swordfish
got it! Thanks guys!!!
Yup, the one that's the same tier as mp33
Exactly, it doesn't need the heatsink but it's better to have it and not need it, especially at that price
So I should get the 12600k?
Personally I would but you can go for the 12700f also if you want. It doesn't make more than a couple percent difference when gaming.
will it make a difference if I pick the evga 280 cpu cooler than the arctic 360 cooler?
The Arctic one is one of the top liquid coolers. The CLC isn't far behind, but it is louder.
I’ll stick to the attic
Arctic
I’m trying to buy everything from Newegg so I’m looking up the specific parts, for the motherboard they have the MSI PRO Z690-A DDR5 LGA 1700 atx intel, what’s ur thoughts on that compared to the b660 ddr4
if you're going 12600K the z board will give you the OC options to make it actually worth it
z690 in that case
I’m goin with the 12600k so I should go for the z690?
imo yes
cos you can OC the cpu that way
which is what you pay a bit for with the intel K chips
Yeah it's nice to have the option to overclock later
But not the ddr5 version, make sure it's ddr4

Current DDR5 is barely equal to midrange DDR4 while being much more expensive
I’m totally understanding everything 😂
ddr4 = basically the same here but cheaper
Higher number does not always equal better is the gist of it lol
got it
but you need a ddr4 board to work with ddr4 sticks
slowly but surely we'll switch to ddr5, it just doesn't make sense for most people price wise atm
Yeah next next gen will see better ddr5 options I think
the gpu it’s 3080 12 gb but does it have to be specific brand?
Z4 looking cope
specifically the one we picked
The one we recommended is one of the best models you can get
they come with warranties
unless you have an astonishing record of clumsiness I wouldn't
so I don’t need to add the protection plan that it’s asking when I add to the cart
nah
Nah imma take care of this bad boy
do keep in mind 3080 12gb is different from 3080 10gb
but aib partner doesn't really matter, just try not to get ventus
I figured it is so I just got the one they told me to get
this one
model doesn't really matter no but performance can vary a little bit between each, this one is basically like the best price to performance model of the stack
this for 770 after promo without mir is good too
~~https://www.newegg.com/evga-geforce-rtx-3080-10g-p5-3897-kl/p/N82E16814487541~~
I don't like mir

I got the list
Corsair 4000d airflow case
Msi pro z690a ddr4 lga 1700 motherboard
MSI gaming GeForce rtx 3080 12gb gaming z trio
Phanteks amp 1000 w 80+ power supply
Intel i5-12600k
G skill 32gb ddr4 3600
Swordfish nvme pci 3.0 x4 ssd 2tb
Arctic liquid freezer 360 cpu cooler
Do the Newegg make it or send it by parts? Where I have to build it?
So I have to get the parts through their pc builder instead of their regular website? In order for it to be built?
Yes, if you want then to build it. That way they can finish it faster since all the parts are pretty much in the same place.
Gigabyte Aorus 3080 12gb is bae <3
I'm gonna shill it. Sorry not sorry lol
Is there another alternative for the arctic liquid freezer cooler? That is not loud
Bc the pc builder doesn’t show it available
I looked into it and it looks like the build service was recently discontinued
What so they can’t build it?
With ENIAC gaming PC assembly service, you’re leaving your build in the hands of experts.
Looks like it's discontinued as of June 30th
So yeah they won't be able to build it for you
It's not hard to do yourself, just like a big Lego set
Any local shop should do it if you prefer that, call for quotes
got it
With a couple youtube vids and the people in this discord.. we could get ya well on your way to building your own pc. It's quite fun and the feeling you get when you finish and press that power button and it boots up is amazing.
I get the same feeling every day when I press that button.
Thanks for all the support guys!
what is your budget and country
Not in an itx case, tubes face up
Ahh crap sorry about that, looks like the others got you sorted with one that does
Under about 2-3k if possible then I can just upgrade parts over time etc. and UK
Are you going to use ethernet, or need wifi
I think wifi because my wifi box is downstairs so Ethernet cable would have to go all the way up
If you dont plan to oc the cpu, here

PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Thanks for your help. I’m stuck between custom pc and mac studio because I don’t have a clue how to build etc
I'd do this, 3080 12gb is like 5% better but it's not worth £150 more also psu is better and cheaper, ram is just same but chewper
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/BDgCC6
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Actually that Amazon seller looks sketch, only 1 rating
Ooh nice txm price
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Would do this
Same thing, 3080 12gb is a bit better but not 100£ better
Yeah txm is goated here
Appreciate your help. Do@you prefer pc over mac
32GB RAM would be nice to have
That 3080 is showing up as 900£ for me 1 sec
Pc , gaming sucks crap on mac
pretty crap
I also just prefer windows ui
Would probably go for this personally
