It likely won't no but I still think it's missing something
GT1 frequency is still fluctuating
Side panel of the case off might* fix that
But not by a lot
Someone said not enough power...first 2 tests in time spy series its not full gpu usage
Off
U get 99% the entire run?
DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Guide by Pato
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Graphics-cards/wiki/How-to-use-DDU
Try it then reinstall latest drivers
Wil do with next driver they release
No
Does it run a demo before the graphics test 1 and 2
I dont think so
demo is good to have on
When you go to run the test you can click on 'time spy' or the picture instead of 'run' and there's an option that says 'include demo'
warms up gpu a bit
I might have been running it with demo just checked its on lol
That explains it
Ok now started with 99% usage
Yeah it warms the gpu up before the test lol
Unlike earlier

That really explains a lot lol
Atleast explains the not fully utilizing gpu first few seconds
Ye
is your cards bios set to oc mode?

Whats that exactly
Typically that only affects the fan curve
hm. I had to turn my tuf gpu to oc mode to get a higher oc
Go back to 105 750
Likely the heatsoak stopped it from boosting higher before
From the demo running lol
U can turn gpu to oc in bios?
Yeah that would work for sure
there is a switch on your gpu to the left of your pins
Oh yeah noticed that
There's some exceptions depending on the model but the exceptions only give you like 30MHz over the base, it doesn't affect actual headroom which should be silicon based. Unless they were 2 different vbios versions.
Didnt touch it
Changing vbios is just a fan curve and a slight clock speed change that you can still use afterburner to do
It won't do anything
I see. Hm. The 2070S I had would not OC stable at any OC until I flipped the switch /shrug
They probably had different versions on each bios
On tuf fal'cie really has it dialed in it's a 30MHz change and a different stock fan profile lol
Like 1830 vs 1860
Iirc
more likely the "oc mode" bios has a higher PL
iirc my strix has 480W in "P mode" and 390W in "Q mode"
That's another possibility but not common to my knowledge
this is what I was thinking with the 2070s
well, my card is that way
i flashed it so now 480W is "Q mode" and 1000W is "P mode" lol
Well I guess 480W would be quiet compared to 1000W
Sips I think I figured out why that 3080Ti was scoring a bit low
I forgot about the demo before the run lol

Running on barely any sleep I got a project due today
What's your GPU score now?
I didn't know you could turn that off
you have to have the full version
didn't stop me from getting 1st with 1650s and 12600k though 😛
I haz
i wonder how fierce the competition is for i3-12100 + 3090

very common combination i'm sure
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/TZ7n9r someone wanna tweak my parts see if they can make it cheaper lol
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 2060
I feel like that's prob about cheap as it's gonna be.. maybe different mobo
lol that’s what i was thinking but i’m not to sure what mobo
and i don’t think i could downgrade the gpu to anything
that will still be decent
maybe ram ?
Would go used 2060 if you're going 2060
i cant find any unfortunately near me
could you find new ram?
Well do you really need rgb ram? And I'm guessing you need wifi?
i do need wifi yes i could get rid of the rgb ram
so what’s the difference with ram anyway like obz prices are different but why wouldn’t i want the 16gb 3200 corsair ram over that one? like is there any differences?
Mainly price but also corsair ram is dodgy especially on the basic kits
If you buy known good kits it's ok but the regular stuff they mix chips with so no complete guarantee xmp runs
Corsair makes some good stuff.. and then they make some horrible stuff
like... Asus' TUF model 😄
hm yeah i’ll stick to the same build i got and just slowly order in parts lol
Ye
seems what’s best honestly
I feel you tho, i feel that 'build pc nao' energy lol
i may need to find a new gpu though because i don’t wanna order off isanek there shipping is ridiculous
what is build pc nao lol
i just wanna get all the parts and get to doing it honestly
i have a case and cpu cooler coming and i have the psu
i just need the rest lol
Build pc now, energy?
That is was got me
that's why I've ended up spending so much
i just keep in my head to wait it out and find good deals lol
Ah sadge the eagle is oos on memory express
Yes keep waiting
More good deals to come
memory express shipping is stupid too
amazon and newegg have the best options
shipping wise
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 2060
yeah that would work
i’m gonna keep waiting though see what gpu deals come up
is the gigabyte board better then the msi?
Yup
comes with wifi?
ohhh okok
Scheme? Convention
i never knew that
Ax is a type of wifi
Welcome I am 7am felix
All good
AX200
Oui
i need to find a new job mines stupid at this point i’m not even getting paid the correct amount lol
small local business 👍🏻
and they always make up excuses why they can’t give it and then will say i will get it the next payment
Not correct, you mean it's a lot less than expected?
Is that after taxes?
they just gave me 323
and he’s
yes
not he’s lol
after taxes 650$
i got 323 this pay
Idk how canadian law works but over here incorrect payment is incredibly illegal
it is lol and i’ve told them but they don’t care
Like, drop everything else you're working on and fix it immediately kind of bad
so i think i’m going to just get a new job and report them
How old are you again? If you don't mind me asking
17
I had this pc for two years and was wondering what I should upgrade about it?
My pc build parts:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4
Memory: ADATA XPG Z1 16 GB (2 x 8 GB)
Storage: Silicon Power A55 512 GB SSD
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6
Case: Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower
Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart 500 W 80+
Well what's your budget
Can't go much higher on GPU without a CPU upgrade so if you've got the budget I'd do both of those
And power supply
I was gonna say something about psu
Oh yeah definitely
Don't want to take the L with the TT W
Pretty sure that was the white label one so yes explodey
little bit of a pop in it's step
What would the best AIO with a screen be?
Nucleus (if that ever came out, damn ek), or probs the ryujin if you needed the actual screen imo
The ryujin ii ofc
Sounds like lawsuit time
ong lol
How much pay are you missing?
supposed to get 650 every two weeks just got 320
Idk if it ever did EDIT: it finally did I guess
, but they refunded my preorder and gave me an ek elite 360 as well as an apology for the delay so I walked away pretty good from that
Rip instead they selling gold wb's xD
Oh it did come out
It did?
Dam I should have pre-ordered it :(
@untold vessel ek nucleus 360
It'll use the bones of the ek aio which is stonks
It's not insanely expensive either for an lcd aio
Nah sips is doing a i3/3090 so I'm sure they can upgrade gpu hahah
can we all agree, if the 2060 super is on the build list, and the budget is 1k, they probably got the budgeting right
The 12100 has very similar single core performance to the 12400
Not how that works
Normally yes but the ryzen 1600 is comparable to the i5 6600
Lol
I bottlenecked a 2070 with a r7 2700, and that's only one tier above what they have
I bottlenecked a 1030 with a 3470. Totally irrelevant to this conversation, just wanted to feel cool
Pretty good yeah
haha
i had a i7 3770 with 3080
but i was 1440p
I like g.skill over Team, and it's only a couple bucks more than comparable team memory
@potent portal what are parked cpu cores
I seem to recall you having issues with that too
How do I underclock my voltage?
maybe
Also I guess the 5600 is single channel
For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.
let me refrase\
are parked cpu cores bad for performace
No it just saves power
well im plugged into battery
It shouldn't be
That would be motherboard dependent but I don't think there's any AM4 boards that aren't dual channel
If anything parking inactive cores is better for performance since they're not heating up other cores for no reason
okay
It only works single channel ramjso
How do I undervolt my CPU
So that it doesnt jump above my voltage
I have team now and I haven't had any issues with them but when I was looking at timings the G-Skill was better and $5 less than Team
What does it mean when there is a beta 2.90 and 2.91
For BIOS
The single digit dif
usually some slight revision to something
But what would require so bad to new version
if it's beta that means both versions are still being tested
Then one of 2 things has happened, one of the memory controllers is dead or you've overtightened your cooler
Oh or a pin is bent, 3 things
https://i.imgur.com/9qGoVZJ.png @potent portal is this okay to buy also i heard ddr5 ram isnt single or dual
so you can have 1 stick on pc
So I changed a few things in BIOS, mainly just updated the BIOS and then had to re set all my settings and now its saying set up pin again despite not letting me set it up on login for windows, any way can fix without reinstall windows?
You still want two sticks
While it's "technichally" dual channel, two sticks are still much better for performance
how are zotac cards ???
Mid, buy if cheap
what voltage is it jumping to?
dual
not really tbh, at least i have seen on laptops
but two stick is recommended ofc
but if you're forced with one stick from factory
it ain't a big loss
kinda yeah
The ASUS Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop lets you install one memory stick, but do you have to? I’ve compared 10 games with and without the RAM installed to find out the differences! Check G14 prices - https://geni.us/a7wwQs
Sources referenced:
16gb vs 32gb in games doesn't matter: https://youtu.be/sZaIibCSHlY
DDR4 dual channel beats single channel:...
doesn't seem too big to me
diff looks to be 15% at best
this is with gaming load that is
but i would say it's worth it to have two sticks
gotta wait until ddr5 prices becomes more reasonable tho
I'd figure that'll be when DDR5 can solidly outperform decent DDR4
I expect things to get better with zen 4 launch
ye
for now ddr5 is still dummy expensive
too much for me to say get a ddr5 laptop and upgrade ram right away
it's good to know that running one stick isn't very bad
unlike older ddr standards
im not soldered
I hope you arent
doesn't change anything tho
HAHA
not sure how you could solder yourself
but it's good that it isn't
hm
https://i.imgur.com/aTrHkwB.png quad-channel brrrrrrrr
I think you have to attach yourself to something to count as soldering yourself
is going 3600 to 5700x worth it?
Depends on what you do
If you just game on more gpu dependent games at higher settings? Probably not
If you do workloads or play more CPU dependent games and aren't happy with current performance? Sure
use soldering iron
Hey am I doing this right? I'm installing these antec fans by daisy chaining.
pic too blurry
Lemme get a better pic
I plugged in my 3 fans into the splitters.
One had 4 and other 2 has 3 pins
and the splitter is plugged into mobo?
Yes
then u have done it right
Alright cool, it just looks a bit goofy thouh 😂
cable manage it
Alright lemme try.
send a pic of entire pc ill give tips
Done it way too many times, the feeling never gets old
If 3070 is 575 or 666 would you spend like 200 more for 3080 12GB that's 881
3080 12gbs are 800, and good models too, gaming z trio and aorus master atm
But it if you where going 3070 route I'd go rx 6700 for like 380$ instead
price to performance the 3080 and 6800xt are actually pretty good right now
not saying they're cheap but it's much better than it's been
3080 10gb hasn't been making much sense at around 730 where 6800xt is sitting at 670 and 6900xts dipping to 750 ish
^
really? i can get an fe on best buy as of yesterday or i can get one used on r/hardwareswap for like 350 probablu
Huh. I hadn't really checked off of Newegg lol
yep 3060ti and 3070 fe are both on bestbuy rn
3070 for 500 is mediocre tbh
Especially now
Not worth it
yeah thats a good point
Either wait 2 months
Especially an FE
Cuz FE is only 1x8 pin iirc and no bios flashing cuz only 12 pin connector to card
im not buying anything now bc i have a 6700xt and ill wait a couple years or so
this doesn't matter for most people
most people aren't buying their card to squeeze out benchmark numbers
gotta remember people like us are in the extreme minority lol
True
But still aftermarket quiter 6750xts for under 500 or rx 6700 for like 370
Or 6700xts for like 400 ish
Enough rgb for this guy?
3070 at 500 isn't that bad of a price compared to 6700xt at 400
absolutely not

Mobo reflecting the fans pretty cool tho
FE fans are loud man
FE is ugly
No rgb on the cpu wb smh
shiny
100% 2 fe fans are louder than than my old gigabyte gaming oc 3 smaller fans somehow same rpm
Blinding gpu
I don't even hear my FE
Oh i do
which is that? Looks like a copy of a 9800 GTX or such.
Rest of pc is p12s
duct tape works good. oh wait, wrong fans
Turn up to 70% fans and you will hear
my AC drowns out any noise 😛
True
100% is screeching
Never tried 100% on case fans
IME the only time I needed 100% fans was when my room was 38c
Damn why room 38c
I have my fan profile set to performance on my case so they're running at like 70% already
only time i use 100% fans is for benchmarks lol
Why would u do that
AC decided it didn't like that is was 111f out
so it said nah not working today
Bench i do 70%
more like a week
And temps 50 to 55c
because Las Vegas is hot, yo
Damn
Not as hot as here
my gpu thermal throttles with 100% fans 😦
113f on a normal day
With aio?
that was weird. seems like my whole power went out for a split second
My 12900k under load was like 200w if i remember correct
I got 180w out of my 12600k
my cute little i3 peaks at 67 watts
well friend wants to buy local so if gpu breaks or something they dont need to send it out country for support also friend needs nvidia fopr the processing power amd is slow they said
bro just google
I OC good
What UPS should I get for my pc? I have a 1kw psu
I trust group more
nah while google when we got sips\
Talking about the gpu fana
buildzoid has good guides
Huh? What country they in and what work will they be doing
it's not as simple as that even if you use xtu
well, the bigger the better
it just provides more convenience
as much as you wallet allow 😄
yeah, but idk brand/model and all taht
you got me there 😛
Gwt 5k ups like linus
Image needing to worry about ups
i have no ups
this is the first time this has happened. now it's got me trippin lol
my mining rig turns off often
i would like to not disclose the country part but they working with AI stuff with nvidia cuda cores rendering much faster
Philippines?
Country is needed to recommend and countries have millions of ppl in them it's not doxing
i don't see any need for it
is it okay if i dm
no, thailand
Sure
Oh

not like we hate countries in this discord
pretty unnecessary to hide the country
unless you feel that his/her country could be mocked... which is a no no on this discord anyway

lol if you tell someone your country they'll know exactly where you live
Now i know youre 1 in 330 million
with some deductive reasoning.. you could easily find him
okay, he uses discord
anyone mind helping me i have a question about a pc i bought on newegg
What's your question
!ask
didnt handle with care
although i did make progress on my build purchase wise.
so far ive got artic 120mm fans installed in my h510 flow from nzxt top and back exhaust and front intake asrock riptide X570S PG mobo with 32gb of trident z neo at 4200mhz
next check ill be getting a x5900, nh-d15, 500gb + 1tb m.2s, and an 850w power supply
whats the best option for m.2 and power supply
Your ram won't run stable at 4200mhz on amd unless you desync infinity cache but you're better off just doing 3600mhz/3800mhz synced
Country?
Consider sending back the ram and just getting a 3600c16 kit then
it did say designed for amd so im wondering why it wouldn't be stable
I'd go with this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Gs7G3C/team-mp33-pro-2-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-tm8fpd002t0c101
And this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/P7pmP6/thermaltake-toughpower-gf1-pe-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ps-tpd-0850fnfagu-1
That's just a marketing badge
Ram is ram
Although yeah poor choice
Technically you can run 4200mhz but it will be way worse cuz it has to be unsynchronized infinity fabric
i did a little reading and thought 4000 was the wall and 5000 was a gimmick from mobo manufacturers
also for m.2 i was looking at gen 4 is there any advantage in that
4000 on amd is if you're really lucky, most have a 3800mhz max some lower
Only in download speeds if you're connection is like very high speeds and if you're moving files from one place to another not really especially for the price atm
Team mp33 has better random iops than a lot of gen 4 ssds anyway
Random is real world performance opening things etc
Sabrent is okay usually terrible price to performance
samsung 980s?
additionally how much do i lose by going sata for deep storage because $/gb is so low for a 2.5" ssd
Depends, the really cheap ssds are usually barely slower than a hard drive
Samsung 980 non pro is meh, pro is terrible value
If you want a gen 4 ssd, s70 blade would be your choice although for 60$ more on 2tb imo it's not worth
https://i.imgur.com/ykWeVOM.png 6500xt sad
i really hope thats a b550 or x570
Lookin like a b450 tomahawk
I think it's a b350 tomahawk actually
Nah its b450 actually looking at the vrm heatsinks. Just don't ever remember it being that grey in colour
Neither but the heatsinks are a def match
Maybe it faded

Actually it'd be the camera flash probably
Aio prob cost near the same as the cpu xd
why
6500xt on pcie gen 3 tanks on performance
Anyone know any good deals on 3080ti right about now?
Do you need a card right now?
Not particularly
Cause if you can wait it's likely worth waiting for 40 series.
Otherwise this looks good to me: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=12G-P5-3955-KR
Ok, in your case I'd wait
The 3080 12gb games within 3% of it
You can wait either for prices to drop further or to get a 40 series gpu
And the gaming z trio is $770
Is that an 80-12 or a 80 Ti?
The EVGA one I just linked is only $29 more
How do I tell if certain cards will work with my current build?
Ask us
what parts might not be compatible with a 3080ti
for a friend: he wants to build a pc his budget is pretty low and he wants to know 1660 or 6500xt he’s getting the i3 12100
1660
Still beats 6500xt on pcie 4.0
Extra 2gb vram helps it in a lot of games too
i feel bad for him so i might help him get the 1660 super even though i probably should focus on my own build lol
What's your current build
What country is he in
What power supply
he’s with me rn lol
What's rhe budget for the build?
how do I check my power supply?
900
Physically
but i think he’s going to take it slow and piece it together
but i’ll show him what you make!
alienware?
yea
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/NyV9wc is what I got, could buy a used 2060 or smthn similar for cheaper
PC Builder - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6600, Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower
Honestly I might just recommend replacing the whole build. 7980xe isn't exactly the best anymore, and you could part out that build and get a good bit of a new build paid for
1080 tis still go for a good bit
hmmm
The 3080 will be gasping for air, as I'm sure your current parts are
he asked if that case comes with fans
this case sucks
okok i got that
Can add p12s for like $10 a piece iirc
Forget Canadian pricing on them
yea
what does “iirc” mean
Holy crap that's ass
if I remember correctly
If I remember correctly
looks futuristic
Looks like an oven
That's going to be hard considering the PSU and motherboard will have to be replaced together most likely (Dell loves to use proprietary PSU connectors and motherboard form factors)
It would not surprise me at all if that cpu thermal throttles
Very much
That's not correct English
cooking my eggs on the grill lol
But words
hmmm
let me check my psu real quick
I'd assume it's 650w max
While dell makes good psus, 650 is not enough for a 3080
Can keep storage
then build a new system with the other 1080ti
sell that (sell it after using it even)
then build a whole new system
Why not just build the new system, and then replace the 1080 ti later on
i would say salvage that 18 core cpu but x299 is expensive
could
it says max power 1500 w
the psu, given how old the system is, probably would be some degree ok. the system itself tho, very blegh
sli is dead but that can be a good thing here if you sell the alienware with only 1 1080 ti in it
i feel like you'd make more back selling the pc with only 1 gpu not 2
I have no idea what psu oem that'd be
what's oem
a company that actually makes the thing for the main brand to sell to a customer
Dell psus can be good quality. Biggest issue is proprietary connectors
there's enough pcie connectors for a 2x8 pin 3080 ti but I wouldn't run it in that
so is this psu good enough or nah?
it's likely fine but you'll have other issues because of the case
ignoring the 7980xe sitting on what looks like, as dell is famous for, a 120 rad
truuuuuu
it do be having a 120 rad
looks kinda like atx
I am gonna get a new case first I think
can probably transfer to new case
I'm more worried about the case, the airflow, the layout
dell uses proprietary stuff so the board might not even have the right mounting holes for a standard case
mhm
i wouldn't be sure but I believe they've done that before
it just seems like, too much effort imo lol
Yeah, my point about the PSU is that it likely can't carry over to a new motherboard, and the motherboard quite likely can't carry over to a new case
yeah I'm thinking the same thing
that's what I am worried about
So personally I'd do it all at once and wait for 40 series and the next gen cpus
So right now you could save for that new build
yea and sell what you've got now but sell the pc with only 1 1080 ti
bad idea to build everything but leave my current gpus?
going back to the proprietary dell thing
yea it's massive lol
it's just too much work lmao
sell the current pc with 1 1080ti then use/sell the other 1080 ti
make a whole new pc in the process
how much do you think I could get for everything I have now?
it's so unique I'm not sure
2 years ago it was considered a fair price at 800
x299 is cool
500 sounds right imo
but it's alienware
250 sounds doable
evga has 2060 for 209 rn
new too, not even b stock
tho that one's single fan
if ur gonna buy a 2060 then using the 1080ti is fine
but using just one of them until a full pc build later would be good
those things are still relevant
yep
very relevant cards
Hey y'all I'm still trying to diagnose and fix my pc. So what happened was when I try to turn it on the whole pc lights up for a second and then everything powers off. If I try to press the power button it's like it has no effect. This all started when a small outage happened at my house when I had my pc plugged in without a ups or surge protector. Oh also idk if this is relevant but also for my AC power supply cable I am using an amazon bought tripp lite one because I lost the original one that came with my power supply while moving.
The only way I eventually somehow turn it on is I turn off the power supply and hold the power button for like 10 seconds then turn back on the power supply and press the on button. (Sometimes works sometimes need to repeat.)
This issue has been happening so often now and I'm worried something in my pc might be damaged. What should I do?
Looks like the cable you got is the problem
I have considered but I was hoping to somehow find a way to test whether it was the issue or not.
The usual way to test is to swap parts with a known good part
So trying a different cable, trying a different PSU, etc
I don't have another cable or PSU so I guess I really have to get another one.
Wait so for AC cables you can't just buy another one if you lose the one that came with your PS?
I've never heard of that tbh
Agh bestbuy employees told me any cable that looked like an AC cable would work.
It's just a little extension cord basically
Unless I'm missing something here
I doubt you could get the PC to turn on with that method if the cable was at fault
Yeah it's weird it turns on for like a sec and powers off but sometimes when I'm lucky my pc fully turns on.
Yeah.
I mean it's basically just an extension cord
Have you tried kinda flexing the cable when the PC won't turn on and see if that works?
Specifically up near the plug ends
Flexing the cable?
Like kinda pushing on it a bit
I don't have another cable tho.
Basically if one of the wires slipped out of it's terminal
Which I doubt with how you're able to get pc to turn on
But still
I think I’m going to buy a new fan hub so that might make my fans work
It's most likely that PSU imo
Having issues where draining all power out of the capacitors then being able to turn back on is suspicious
So it's probably the outage that fried the psu?
Yeah it's actually so weird it's like a game of chance sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't.
Not a 100% accurate test but a good place to start
Like flipping a coin.
I'm very scared of shocking myself the paperclip won't hold electricity right?
No
Alright I'll try that first, then cord, then new power supply.
Any voltages on the 24 pin ATX connector won't shock you anyway.
Hopefully not. I'm like very prone to static electricity. During winter everytime I touch a doorknob I get shocked.
Anyways thank you guys for helping.
ok so question
if I were to buy a whole pc build good enough for a 3080ti without actually buying a 3080ti
how much would I be looking at spending?
Idk, depends on what you plan with the PC and what country you live in
Also 3080ti typically bad value compared to 3080 10/12gb
I won't be buying it until the 40 series comes out
and streaming
usa
and for the whole build including gpu maybe staying under 2k if possible
lol
yea
and a small form factor case preferably
I am ngl I do not know what mATX is
I am new to building pcs lol
can you explain that to me a little?
ah
A4-H20A TRIBUTE TO SFFThe A4-H2O is an 11-liter small form factor case, a collaboration project with DAN Cases. Based on the original DAN A4-SFX case sandwich layout concept, the A4-H2O continues the minimalist and compact form factor with improved hardware compatibility (including AIO water cooling) and simplifies installation. I was kinda lookin at somethin like this
so itx I think it said
is mATX better or just different?
EXTREME AIRFLOW QUALITY MATERIAL MODULAR BACK PLATE UP TO 6 SSD OR 4 HDD + 2 SSD ATX PSU COMPATIBLE DUAL CHAMBER DESIGN VERTICAL GPU BACK PANEL (OPTIONAL) GERMAN ENGINEERED https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvaRGVPWlh0 EXTREME AIRFLOW SUPER FINE MESH FRONT, TOP AND SIDE PANELS The mesh design on the front, top and side panels of the O11 AIR […]
this one looks like it fits any mobo
would something like this be better than the first one I sent?
SFF?
sorry lol I am new to this stuff
oh yea that is pretty big still
do you have any recommendations for sff cases?
I am just going to college and want something that won't break or be too big while moving it back and forth
i wanna rank up
just simply join in on peoples convos in general
u alr kno
you will eventually rank up, no need to rush things
geting more rank just gives you another color, nothing more
Why's guy in build pics lying or cooking their 9900ks
huh?
They are probably just cooking
can i get some opinions on this build? any better picks i should do, making a new build for gaming. dont wanna spend a whole lot more than i currently am
Yeah you could definitely do a lot better for the price 1 sec
This is a lot better and cheaper, or you can save more money and do just as good as your list

PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
thanks i really appreciate it
Np
;l
You talking about ryzen 5900x I think it was and 2080 ti person
Bc I don't see pic anymore
Yeah i just saw that
Really not sure of there's actually just a 9400f in there and they lying or just hate their cpu tho
It really looks like it was pieced together with a pc junkyard as the main supplier.
A little bit of this. A little bit of that.
I had a N1 run a 3600 and 5700xt
Not saying it's impossible to run it's just

That doesn't mean it wasn't ok lol
No it wasn't my computer started to turn itself off while gaming

Power spikes go brrrrrrrr
But like mining and benchmarking was fine tho
I had my power go out for a few seconds today. I thought my PSU took a crap on me.
But back on that build, it's discussions like these that make me think that these hyper 212's save computers
Like
The cpu can't turbo high with it yeah?
Hyper 212?
This is nice
So therefore almost no risk
Yea so it's safe
I had the power go out for 2 hours earlier today

Who wants to see a keyboard full of switches with pen springs
Does is sound like blue switches lol
No clue
Ordered parts
Just need a keyboard to do it
Not tryna take apart my main keeb
Grats
Anyone have any recommendations for good sff cases?
P200a is also decent
Ssupd meshilicious
in gaming it probably can
but in a load like p95 a properly cooled 9900KS will do like 300 watts
and the hyper 212 will not like that
Pain
bruh
Ppl of reddit are dumb
they always are
"corsair makes good psus" or smth
buying ak600 for 5800x3d tho
pain
Ak400 is too expensive tbh
imagine paying a lot for cpu
only to cheap out so hard on cooling
and cheap out on psu
this is too stupid
i hate it
lol my account history is like 100% hws now
only one thing here isn't hws
someone was asking why his 12600K was throttling with stock cooler
lol
I assumed they upgraded from 12100
Can someone explain to me the downsides to an itx motherboard?
What exactly does less expansion mean? Like less USB ports and stuff like that?
Less sata sometimes too
less ram slots (although if you do ram oc this is actually a good thing)
So assuming I only use 1 m.2 and 1 gpu is there anything I should be worried about?
not really, itx boards are viable for a reason
just have to know your use case
are you putting it in an itx case?
cause if not then you should just buy matx
I am trying to make a small portable build for going back and forth to college
Also yea I’m looking at the lian li a4h20
How much more do you think I would be spending on an itx build compared to a normal atx build?
The only different thing is the mobo right?
It depends on the target perf/budget although not much more mostly coming from the sff psu
sfx psu, itx cooler, itx mobo, itx case are the main differences
you also have to worry about gpu dimensions
some sff enthusiasts are willing to pay top dollar for blower 3090s and stuff
This case says it fits a 240 aio and a triple slot gpu
Aren’t those just normal parts?
322 mm
Personally for 2k I'd do something like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vvgfxs
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Lian Li A4-H20 X4 Mini ITX Desktop
Only thing to note is that board only has gen 3 pcie slot iirc
It's an itx, I wouldn't be surprised
interesting review
smart way for them to get rid of that inventory i guess
pcie 3.0 isn't a big problem
and they don't hide it anyways
Ok so assuming I don’t buy a gpu right now would the rest of that build work with a 1080ti until I get a card at a later date?
good morning u s a
i got a feeling that it's gonna be a wonderful day
the sun in the sky has a smile on his face
Sun in the sky
and he's shining a salute to the american race
You typed too fast smh
Would this work with a 1080 ti until I get a new gpu at a later date?
Yes ofc
Ok cool
Not common, the non lite version was released and it was giving whea errors at gen 4 for some reason sometimes
Ok so assuming I wanna start by purchasing as little as possible what should I buy first with already having all this stuff
Obviously I would need the case, the mobo, and the psu
What else would I definitely need to get in order for this to work for now
Could I re use the ram and the cpu for now?
You can run it without the case
How about you put a list of what you have now
But buying an old itx mobo is gonna basically be impossible for a decent price
Well assuming you want to move to the itx form factor rn you can carry over the gpu, ram, well half of it and ssd
Is this ram good or is it still worth buying new stuff later?
It doesn't say what speed it is, I'm gonna guess it's kinda slow tho
But it can do for now
Ok so I think I’ll probably be purchasing a new pc in the next couple days
Or at least most of one lol
When you say most of one.. How long will it be before you buy the rest of it?
Probably wait until 40 series cards come out and then 30 series cards drop prices
So the part you would be waiting for is just the GPU?
The only thing I would need besides that is new ram which I would probably buy in the next week or two
What I'm getting at is, if you are going to have to wait on getting the rest of your PC, you may as well wait until you can get all of your PC because by then prices on those parts may fall even further, or better sales on better parts.
Well I’m going to college in 2 weeks and don’t wanna bring my current pc with me because it weighs 60 pounds and is massive and awkward
…how does your PC weigh 60lbs
Wanna see it?
Good luck on even getting all yours parts before you leave for college unless you pay the premium for overnight shipping from each vendor.
Of course it’s an Alienware
Remember a person finding one with 3*980tis
For 200 bucks
But it was water damaged
Alienware best
This one has 2 1080ti lol not damaged at all
They already have a 1080 ti which will work just fine
Maybe I’ll find one with 2 3090
That’s the dream
a 3090 is a 3090 lol
Ehhh not always
it would still sell for more than 200 tho lol
Could have a 3090 that acts like a 3060
Gamer nexus said 3090 good
Just there case not bx it suffocated it
We called Dell’s G5 5000 a "warranty with e-waste attached." We said the 1660 Super in that system was the bottom of the barrel, but maybe, just maybe, Dell’s RTX 3090 can redeem them.

I see. I was just making sure he knew that waiting until the last possible minute to order parts was better than holding onto parts.
in regards to building a full pc
Ah yeah but they'll have a working pc
They already got an ssd gpu and ram they can use so that cuts it just down to psu case mobo cpu cooler
Not good just "better than dell"
that's why I asked lol
Intel LGA 1700 Socket: Supports 12th Gen Intel Core Series Processors DDR4 Compatible: Dual Channel Non-ECC Unbuffered DDR4, 2 DIMMS Commanding Power Design: 10+2+1 Phases Digital VRM Solution with 105A Power Stage, 10-Layer PCB Cutting-Edge Thermal Design: Advanced Thermal Solution with Fins Arr...
That one
just to make sure I had everything right
why is the ddr4 more expensive than the ddr5 lol
Also wrong psu
yea those were the 2 things that pc part picker didn't add to the cart
The psu aint on Amazon 1 sec
For Amazon you're over paying cuz only white version
Either go for different seller
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Q36qqs/cooler-master-v-sfx-gold-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-sfx-power-supply-mpy-8501-sfhagv-us
Or
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vJPQzy/cooler-master-v-sfx-gold-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-sfx-power-supply-mpy-8501-sfhagv-wu
is there one that is similar to this one that I could get on amazon?
The white one
You can get lower wattages
But if you wanna go 4070 or up you'll want an 850w
ok
if looking to go 4070 or something, may as well just wait till they release then buy after that
They have 1080 ti now and wanna go sfx for college so not really
ah ok then
