Hi there, im building a new computer quite soon. Using a i5 12600k and need some advice on parts. I want ddr4 and overclocking capibility, preferably as cheap as possible. So far found ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4 and GIGABYTE Z690 GAMING X DDR4
What country?
Best ddr4 oc board is the msi pro z690-a hands down
It's not too expensive either *(usually)
It's usually a good value motherboard with good vrms etc
Lemme have a look
Yeah msi z690 a pro would be my choice
Maybe z690 pro p but i haven't looked into that much
You going for all black?
Not really, just happend that way
Okay 1 sec
The black NH-D15 wasnt that much more expensive so went for it
I'm putting together a list
Thx alot
@ember lion i would do this
https://se.pcpartpicker.com/list/rTtQcb
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Just to preference, the ram has a worse xmp but it overclocks better btw
Thx. Guessing the AK620 has simillar performance to the NH D15?
Thx for the cooler recommendation. Saves me some money to spend on extra fans
Yes
Arctic p12 for fans
yes, it go hand to hand against the nhd15
Did some digging, some says the AK620 supports lga1700 and some says it dont?
extra mounting bracket needed?
Planing to buy everything from the same site (easier with shipping) should probably message and ask them if they ship the "old" or "new" one
Oh well i just picked off of price mainly and it picks the cheapest so there might be some parts poorly priced or not available
Also ak620 is pretty new, i think it always came with lga 1700 bracket
Hmm, noticed on the Motherboard support page that it doesent support my intel 660p ssd. Though it supports the 670 ssd?
should this be a concern?
Thx, just double checking before i actually order anything
Don't use official compatibility list, cause it only lists stuff the manufacturer tested on the board
Got it
Hey you online my friend ?
sup
Hold on guys this setup my be subject to a huge bottleneck
Is it the best idea to pair a 12400f with a 6900XT?
That 6900 gtx can I run multiple monitors and game/stream efficiently, or is there a better option for a tad more. Also could raise my budget it needed
6900xt?
yeah on a 12400f
I'd recommend at least a 12600k/f to get the best out of that card
for streaming, id do this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TrTPQ6
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
the 12400f is enough for a 3090 ti
and beyond
@oblique sage
Thanks for the help I’ll probably grab the 3080. As for the gpu could I go with something a little more powerful just to be overkill?
You can do whatever your heart desires
There isn't really anything more powerful, 3080 ti, 3090, and 3090 ti all are very similar to 3080 12gb
You'd just be spending money to spend money at that point
I just got my 3080 12gb yesterday and I can say that I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a 3080ti +
How big is the difference between 3080 10g and 3080 12g
I’m sorry i had a typo i ment cpu not gou
About 5%, but thats the best air cooled 30 series model so it's worth it
You could put a 12600kf or 12700f on that mobo if you want, would want a better heatsink though
Ak620 would be good
Techpower says the 12gb is 3% more perf than the 10gb.
also says it's 3% less than a 6900xt
Yeah but for streaming I'd go with nvenc
says it's 9% less than a 3080ti, but the price for a TI isn't worth that 9%
More like 5% worse than 3080 ti at most
When just gaming in gpu bound games but it's not balanced at all
Ofc not, anyone buying a 3090 ti should easily afford a 12700f
12600k is def more than enough for multitasking while gaming for sure
Ok thanks again.
Np
games run mostly on 4 cores, a 12400f is more than enough, more cores have almost no impact in gaming, just on workload applications, it will handle even to the 3090ti just fine
the one thing that matter on them are the pci lanes and all of them have 20 lanes for the gpu+nvme... the 12600 have the same 20 lanes, just more cores
You'd be better off getting a $650 3080 10gb off b stock
The ask for help roughly once a day and keep asking the same qs basically btw
sounds about right
what do you think about this build?
PC Builder
You sent the wrong link, the right one is in the yellow box
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GeForce RTX 3060, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
do you own any of this yet?
no i do not
aight can you come up with a better one for me?
then do you need the 4tb hdd in it?
oh that was for me 😂 i just put it on there
preferably unless you find an adapter cause the room it’s going in doesn’t have ethernet
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VPFKKp here then
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
could get a 6700xt for a bit cheaper, if youre fine with an amd gpu
only $20 less though, not a huge diff
what’s the difference between the 6700xt and the 3060 ti
theyre pretty similar, 6700xt has slightly better raw perf, 3060 ti has a better encoder for streaming/recording, has slightly better rtx (rtx is a gimmick, my 3060 ti drops like 70fps with rtx on low in most games, not really worth), as well as a few other small things
some people just prefer nvidia cards for some reason
hm i’ll get the 6700xt then
here then https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MkJmmr
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
oh also, do you have a microcenter anywhere near you?
kk
yeah same lol, was going to suggest this if you did https://www.microcenter.com/product/646269/asus-bb-amd-value-2-barebones-pc
that’s a nice pc i love the case
i’ve been thinking about upgrading my pc
i want to upgrade my pc but don’t know what to add these are my parts
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Why not just use This as a main pc and then have the other one for your friends?
@ornate solstice ^
good point
Not sure why the other pc that I assume you don’t use as much has to be more powerful than your main system xd
i would probably leave the p2 in that pc though, the p2 isnt a great ssd
mp33 is a good bit better, id keep that for yourself
could carry the hdd over though
a lot of my low end games are on my hdd so yeah i’ll transfer that over
thank you for the help
I’d just wipe the p2 and put windows on it, it should have enough storage for a few games for your friends
could throw in a diff hdd anyways]
Yeah
Especially with the prices nowadays
@ornate solstice if you wanted to spend a bit more you could also get the 12600 instead of the 12400 but it isn’t really needed
Yeah
hmm well if i build the other ima want it to be able to support streaming
What is the best PCIe 4.0 Riser cable that is compatible with the asus ROG 3080 white edition and the ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII EXTREME. Asus makes a beautiful cable, but it's only 3.0. Any Ideas or successes?
It will do just fine
Didn't send the same image 3 times mate, they were all different, what channel should they have gone in?
general
it's the same image
lmao
all you did was scroll down the comparison list
weird though because I saw 3 different images.
Yeah it was three different images all 3 had different stat's which was why there were 3 different images. But oh well I'll post to general next time as to not get them removed
same cb score with the default comparison list scrolled down is basically all the same image
this channel is for help with pc builds
you didn't build your laptop
Like I did say I understand mate, I will post in general like you said earlier, you don't have to keep going on about it.
@olive cypress you built that backplate yourself? got any progress pics?
looks really nice, good work
there is a few without the rgb strip but not in pieces i dont think
i agree tho its very cool
figured homemade meant a custom laser cut or something
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
Updated parts list, hoping to buy parts this weekened, any thoughts or changes that you guys would suggest?
are you planning on overclocking or making use of the ecores on that cpu?
I'm hoping to, I still need to do more research though, I would like to have the option to do so
I don't believe that mobo supports overclocking
oh fr?
gotcha
any z690 board you would suggest?
I hear good things about asus prime but idk much
I'm a Mag z690 Tomahawk shill... so I'm prob not the best person to ask for a z690
it's a real solid board, but there is cheaper out there. I just don't know what atm.
Yeah I get that, I'll look more into z690 mobos for overclocking and such, thanks for the input
Other than that are the other parts looking good?
id opt on a different cpu cooler
and just going for a 2tb nvme ssd if you need more than 1tb of storage
do you think the kraken wouldn't be able to handle the OCing?
its just insanely expensive for performance comparable to a $60 air cooler
I think it's expensive compared to others of comparable coolers
you wont be oc'ing anyways on that b660
Im swapping the b660
If you plan on ocing I'd suggest a good 360 liquid cooler
at that point youd be better off going 12700f and b660
It's what I have and I'm glad I got a 360 and nothing less.
compared to 12600k and spendy cooler and z690
i gotcha
what about keeping the 12600kf, swapping for asus prime z690, and then this for cooler: https://www.amazon.com/DEEPCOOL-360EX-Addressable-Technology-Motherboard/dp/B07S34WNTF?crid=38P7KA6HFD3Q5&keywords=DEEPCOOL+CASTLE+360+RGB&qid=1645617299&refresh=1&sprefix=deepcool+castle+360+rgb+,aps,128&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&smid=A1TG24VCRPTZ06&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExRTVNTUYwVVRNSkdVJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODM0MDIwMUNEUEg0RjFZNEcxWCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzY4ODYyNlBWWDJLQlEyMThMJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ%3D%3D&linkCode=sl1&tag=geeka21-20&linkId=8dfc2561ab4453e614c67d11621a6cf0&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

thats the other one I was looking at
holy link
value just wouldnt work
??
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700F
this is a quick cpu/cooler/mobo list
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF
will that deepcool cool that cpu though?
heres with 12600kf
a 12700f?
i was hoping to OC the 12600kf
yeah.. my 12600k hits 50c while gaming with a 360 AFII
as you can see, even with same cooler on both, 12600kf is only like $20 cheaper which doesnt make sense when it gets smoked by 12700f in most stuff
i thought 12600kf > 12600f
thats pretty low
he's saying to get an i7
sure, but this is 12700f
50c feels so high to me.
its a 12600kf basically with 2 extra performance cores
I'm trippin if I get it to 55c lol
so 12700f is 12c 20t
compared to a 10c 16t 12600(k)
and then intel has to be dumb and only put ecores on the k and kf versions of 12600
which is dumb
lmao facts
so you're saying switch to i7-12700f, ditch overclocking, and stick with b660?
and go aircooling?
I'm starting to feel attacked
I personally would go with liquid.
basically yeah
kinda depends on what youre doing tbh
well i was only going liquid bc of OC
if just gaming and stuff, 12400f is a hard value to beat too
12400f would be the way to go if you are just gaming
got it, thanks guys
Has anyone had any experience with the new SL infinity fans from lian li and razer synapse?
I have the older models and they work flawlessly with synapse but for some reason the new infinity models just spaz out and have what feels like multiple lighting profiles going at once.
btw when i try to build a pc for the first time am i risking damaging the part
As long as you use common sense and don't use more force than you need to, no
If something feels like it's not going in, pause and check and not force it in
Especially with the screwdriver
AutoCAD project first
Laser cut
Glued + painted with transparent part
Final result with LEDs added
Can't see logo because of chonk cooler
Didn't take many pics but the whole process was pretty long after all
very nice work @olive cypress thanks for sharing
:)
Are gee bee
Did you need help with something?
How is it this motherboard?
Check this out on @Newegg: GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS ELITE AX LGA 1700 Intel Z690 ATX Motherboard with DDR5, Quad M.2, PCIe 5.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2X2 Type-C, WiFi 6, 2.5GbE LAN

if you want to 4k game effectively, you'll want a 3080ti or 3090
possibly a 3080 12gb
wonder why guy deleted his message.
Ddr5 is not worth it, I would get a ddr4 motherboard
hey, I am looking for someone to build a spec list for a top of the line pc. It'll be used for gaming/streaming/coding. I don't have a budget or anything.
what country? and you want a list for the pc or whole setup?
if you don't have a budget we don't know how high you will aim 😛
Well no budget is just high end i guess
seems like a job for a ks hehehe
@fossil cedar us
whole setup: monitor mouse keyboard etc or just pc?
okay well assuming you need monitor n stuff, if not just ignore them https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v7bVmr
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-12900K, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P500A D-RGB ATX Mid Tower
was about to say "kinda cheap" but then gpu and aio with no price 😛
i was like "wth" a 3080 and a 900k below 2k? holy... i want two! extra fries as well
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ccqgQ6 my build
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-12900K, GeForce RTX 3090, Cooler Master MasterBox TD500 Mesh White w/ Controller ATX Mid Tower
What's with the drives lol
I will add 3x 2tb sn850 soon lmao
It goes like okay drive bad drive okay drive okay drive good drive
Just get more s70 blades :p
actually it was good to bad but idk why list made it reverse then lol
S70 blade better than sn850, and bx500 bad
S70 is my boot now . I will replace it with p41 later . I'm too lazy to change it lol
couse I have to clone it and stuff
Sn850s for main apps and library , 970 evo plus for personal files , bx500 for some backup
got monitors very expensive
700$ for gundam and 500$ for white strix monitor
Smh
What is THE BEST option for me
I need a laptop mainly for school, so i want to prioritize
battery life (8-10hours) while using regular school programs (but ill obviously
have it plugged in while gaming). BUT ALSO GOOD FOR GAMING, For example TUF, but idk if that is the best option. I also don't like the
typical "gaming laptop" look, but i can stand some
design as long as its not too much. My budget is
around $1000 USD.
Something to keep in mind, gaming laptops don't have great battery life
Tuf does
I'm now selling my 3050 ti laptop to buy a laptop that has better battery life
I doubt that, are you getting that from their specs or actual reviews
https://newegg.io/b18fc96 my possible pc build, i checked most of the part. i believe that they should all work. idk if anyone else wants to look haha
For the same price, you can make a 12400f 3060 ti build
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Cougar MX330-G Air ATX Mid Tower
Reviews, i dont know about specs
Hm, then maybe
ill resend my copy paste so other people can help

im more of a amd guy tbh, and isnt my graphics chosen not much worse then what you sent @mossy venture
hmm it does look nice but its missing cooling
6600 is far behind the 6700xt

you need to see gamer nexus video about that one... you ll be surprised
i saw it
hmmm but in terms of like being able to use 2k on high and 4k mid? dont want 4k really btw
4k gaming is a meme, I wouldn't recommend it even on a 6900xt
2k is fine on a 6700xt
im kinda going for a low teir build just like 120 fps on most games
I wouldnt run it on a 6600 though
Also 12400f beats the 5600x and is cheaper
B450s are old and tend to not be worth it
If you really wanted amd, then I guess go 5600 and b550 pro vdh wifi
But 12400f is better to get if you're buying new
5600 over the 5600X doesnt the X have more clock speed?
6600 is a lot worse than 6700xt
just 200mhz more, but its a lot cheaper
everything else they are identical
they have R14, R13, R10 versions lol
Yes, but it games maybe 2% better
It isn't worth the extra $
Were going to keep talking here
problem with dell computers is that they tend to use propietary parts everywhere to cut corners... its sad to see... good laptops, but on desktops.....
lmk when you stop
Try asking again tmrw, a lot of the people who usually help are asleep
I dont know laptops well enough to recc one properly
just keep buying prebuilt haha
shows same price on newegg, its on sale rn
yeah i bet hahaha
Then sure
i switched mother boards
I'd do the rest of my list though, cheaper and better quality overall
hmm now back to the graphics card, not trynna do 400$ trynna stick to that 300$ any other options better than that one
Though case is a bit ugly
But you're saving $200 from other parts
No
😦
No no no
hmm illl peep the other stuff rn

Also you don't have to buy windows
Especially if you already have a windows device
@earnest olive What fans are these?
Wow the margin on that option would be insane
i dont have a pc of my own rn. just my work stuff haha or i would just move lisence
1 grand for 128gigs? holy eff batman
thats dells specialty
That would be over 16gb btw
Still free to use, or you can buy a cheap sub $10 key elsewhere
3200c22 i bet
One sec, I'll dm it to you
Prob idcooling fans considering bleach
yes tuf laptops have better battery life couse their gpus are low tdp
okay you guys right dell bad
Are they any good? I'm not so worried about efficiency as I'll have 10 of them, but what I'm more worried about is if the white leds will turn yellow.
alright. I was looking at some coolermaster ones, but idk anything beyond arctic p12s and they don't come in white argb
afaik
ok nvm, I guess there are white argb p12s
well you are a degenerate anyway... you are not building a pc, thats a hovercraft xD
LOL
jk btw 😛
I'm actually not even going to be putting my rad as push/pull this time
Guys is the color accuracy in the 144hz version of the TUF f15 bad
I was thinking of grabbing some extension as well as another gpu bracket
the bracket I have.. the white led turned yellow.
leggo bricks ma friend
the other day i saw the rog herculz while surfing newegg
kinda tempted xD
If only it was white lol
have it on my cart as well, who knows
the ones that came with the bitfenix nova mesh se
16ga is good for extensions?
its kinda rigid but is very good
the g6 as an example use 16ga
18 is kinda... thin
gotcha. I was thinkin 16 was always mentioned to be good.
one of the tier A requirments was to have 16ga on the main cables
or was a requiremnt to be gold tier A cant remember
oh I see. I believe mine has 16ga
i was looking at the lian li rgb etensions and those are 18ga... and i was like, my psu cables are 16ga...
hmmmm
you were saying something about a new gpu bracket as well
just saying 😛
yeah.. mine is already white, I'll just not use the lighting.
I can't find one that would look good that I'd trust tbh
just go to your local toy store for some leggo kits
there are some gorgeous builds on google using leggo
with bulldozers, shiips, even a crane as gpu bracket xD
ugh, gotta clean the class I guess
the lights look white in a pic, but they are yellow in person
yeah thats what they look like
I've watched all my fan lights turn yellow the last 2 weeks
almost like they aren't gettting enough power, but they are being powered through sata so I know it isn't that.
I just downloaded some drivers that are available in the ASUS Armoury Crate. So does this mean theres no more need to install the AMD adrenaline driver software for the cpu?
alright order is placed
@sullen spoke
@grim wraith
What’s up?
Yeah she used to have the 850 psu
anyone have any promo codes?
The only ones we have are publicly available or from the mailing list. There's no exclusive discord code or anything like that.
@cyan ravine what card is that and how are the temps?
And is the reservoir built into the gpu?
Looks like a nice loop
They're alphacool aio's they link to each other, no room for a reservoir but the temps never go past 65
It's an eagle 3080 and 5900X

No reservoir sounds really hard to fill. Did you do a split valve to keep it from leaking while filling or are you going for the "soak up the leaked water with a towel" method?
Sexy pc 👀
Quick disconnects come with it
Again, aio's
Interesting. So it's more of a pseudo closed loop?
Yea it's like a waterloop without the pain of waterlooping
You'll still need to flush that out once in a while because the clear parts let light in but it might not be as frequently as normal
Oh yeah for sure
It's already got some build-up after 6 months
But fill level seems fine even now
If I had any complaints it's that the coldplate is very flat so on a 12th gen the cooling is kinda meh
Today I'm trying the contact frame mod to see if it's any better there, more p12s too
im looking to building a new system. im thinking about putting a ryzen 5800x with a 3080 ti and rune a panel 1440. is this a good idea or should i change something? tag or dm me with info thank you
I’d get a 12700k
280 on Newegg
And maybe get a 3080 instead, a 3080 ti isn’t that much better
We sure like that $800 12GB 3080 nearly making the Ti obsolete.
How can I know the BIOS is not good before I buying motherboard?
Did you mean not updated for the cpu you're about to pair it with?
Where are you seeing a 12700k for 280??
you got a link?
11th Gen Intel Core i7-11700K unlocked desktop processor. because I don't see it on amazon either
Nvm
that's 11700k...
Well a 12700f is 312
imo if you aren't going to OC then get something less.
can't go with something less when that something less is 12400f
there's no non k 12600k/12600kf that has the e cores
Yea prebuilt with k chips r weird
Bc most of time people don’t even know what an oc is
Xx600 non k is just dumb but 12600 non k is extra dumb
How come I can’t post in build pics??
Keep asking a question once in a while and you'll level up to "green" soon enough
Trident z rgb or corsair veangence rgb pro 16x2 3200mhz cl16
Definitely trident z if you're choosing between those two
Or go silicon power rgb/ripjaws/oloys
For nice and cheap
Stop 👏 asking 👏 if 👏 you 👏 don't 👏 listen 👏
I hope I don't annoy you to the point you do this to me
Nah you actually listen and ask about alternatives that's fine
They just ask and ignore
i know i will enrage pato with questions when raptor lake launchs, for now im just waiting to be tuesday to order my 12700f and the 690 steel legends
ew steel legend
fit my budget
is for my sis pc, so she doesnt care
ah I see
im waiting for raptor launch for mine
I will probably pick up the strix with raptor lake and build a new pc with current mobo/cpu
or maybe just sell them
I like the look of it
you got me on the function over form, and she will probably love the white tint... she will have a 5000x white so.....
Matching nice
hear me out... function AND form
not on that budget, and it isnt my moeny anyway XD
😛
i will try to grab some 250-350 mobo when the time comes
funnction+form
thats why im thinking in something like the 690 carbon
just curious.. do you use the 750ti because that's all you can get?
i have the coin to buy a 3080 strix but i wont
Hear me out function over form
And save money

The temptation
but I do save money 🙂
on my swearing jar i have 1.7 already saved for mobo+cpu+mem+gpu only
but, im waiting
Oh btw ravell b&h seem to ship worldwide
They do. Can confirm
yeah i check b&h from time to time
I'm thinking if sapphire releases a 7000 series card that look slike the one I bought, I'll upgrade
Ah just mentioning cuz like strix 3080 12gb on b&h
yeah, i saw it already
I was tempted but import from us too much
and everyday i restrain myself
how much is import?
to my country is 6usd per pound, plus a 6% custom tax
Um like 30% maybe i can't remember off top of my head
tha 800 strix could end as a 920 in my hands
still reasonable
but i have a good feeling about 4080s
or 4070s
if not, well at least im goin to get a 3080 heavy discounted at 40 series launch, in any case im not playing that much lately, so...im ok
however, i noticed some artifacting on a youtube video this morning... maybe those are the drivers used on the 3060ti
i should ddu today, i was so lazu that i unplugged the 60ti and plugged the 750
😛
same drivers xD
for reference, i sold my 60ti+psu to my sis at 500, yeah at a lose, but, family is forever
lol wrong app.
i dumped the 750ga for a 850g6, so it was a win for me, and the 750ga will serve her well in the new pc with the 3060ti
@fossil cedar thank you, I'll be buying this all shortly
Np
Vin diesel army?
Ye
@fossil cedar bought the msi 3070

Def zip ties for itx. Zip ties are great because it's easy to squeeze cables together with so you can get some nice looking runs by only spending like a dollar or two for 100+ ties
Well done?
I would try taking out all or most of the wiring and stop them from crossing over as much as possible if you want it clean
Thanks guys I’ll go buy more cables then 😦
Zip ties* >.<
Sooner or later I’ll reassemble this brick
Hey boys the graphics card I was going to buy is sold out any good ones y’all know of?
God thats a broad question
What are you looking for? Do you have a budget? What are you gonna play/create?
What's your budget and country
arc alchemist cards look like they might be good but not released yet
its also speculated that they might be cheaper
so it could be a release worth waiting for
they are not that "good" in a sense, but if they are budget friendly, they will be very competitive on the low-mid range
like very friendly entry level cards
is a nice aproach from intel, like they are not trying to start very high, but to wrestle the low-mid market first
nvidia now have a new reason in the low-mid range to not delay the 40 series that much, while amd will try to wrestle the high end
when did you sell it?
cause like at the moment that's actually above market price
unless you were pairing your 3060ti with something insane like a 1600 T2
like a month ago
which psu?
nono, it was a 3060ti+750ga at 500 to my sister
for today's market yes
prices are actually a little higher now than they were last month i think
at that time the same card was at 550 so so
coincidentally eth is going back up
an xc3 ftw
550 where? retail?
egg
that way i bought my 850 g6 and im holding the extra 400 for 40 series
psu is probably worth 70-80 used
even less, but im noit going to buy used for my sis rig, she got the gpu+psu used by me, at least she have the safety that they were lightly used, very lightly
3 months of use
well, almost 4
that's fair
the other option she had was the 2 fan xc black but it was 429 at egg... so 400 for the 60ti xc3 was a better deal for her
the xc black was a 3060
Between 500-600$ but whatever works
buying a used mining gpu is usually fine cause it won't degrade the gpu when done correctly, but some people are stupid and mine at stock so there can be degradation, or fans can fail earlier
yeah, when you buy a miner gpu its a gamble
could be an excellent user, undervolted and proper maintenance every once in while or a complete idiot
Can get a 3070 off b stock or new
Or 6800
How much does the 3070 cost new?
prices on my local fb market... they are insane locally xD
thats why importing new from egg its a way better deal here
Oh boy I feel like I went back to January looking at that screenshot
yup, is sad
Assuming you're in the us 560
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qQM48d/msi-geforce-rtx-3070-lhr-8-gb-gaming-z-trio-video-card-geforce-rtx-3070-gaming-z-trio-8g-lhr
On a random side note anyone else agree that the eagle shroud just looks lowkey nice on the lower end cards?
That’s perfect thanks bro
Np
It's decent ye
Although will only be recommending gigglebyte gpus in countries that they actually rma in
3070 fhr gigglebyte gaming oc
I assume you've heard the sad story of my gpu?
I haven't? Unless this was the one with like several RMA's
Nope
So I bought 3060 ti fe to sell to rawr because india prices are dummy, i go to mine with 3060 ti and 3070 in pc because needed to wait for him to come EU, i put 3060 ti on top cuz 3070 2.5 slot card and i have matx board, as soon as i slot 3070 in, capacitor rolls out of the card onto the floor and it won't boot, i contact gigabyte for rma -> you'll have to go to retailer, goes to retailer (currys 🤮 but i was able to get it for €720 in like march 2021) they explain they don't send to gigabyte for repair, i assume they basically send back for scraps? And that offered me a replacement or cash but replacement would have been lhr and i didn't know if currys would be like since we don't have this exact model you'll have to pay price diff( Currys where selling 3070s for 1.4k at this point)
So i got got cash back instead
Rip
Luckily had 3060 ti for while to keep me going

Damn that's painful
I must call myself a bit lucky gpu's have been good to me
Everything else I've had some weird rma incident or another
So far 2/3 have been good to me
Managed to get a 6750xt for rawr instead cuz i wanted to keep mining and rtx voice is quite important to me cuz my keyboard is annoying af on discord
How is your keeb annoying in discord?
I remember the 6750XT, the reference cards look nice
Noise usually
Clicky clacky
Razer uh blackwidow?
I was thinking about grabbing some Kaihl Bronze Speed switches
While we're on the topic of gigglebit, I had a gen 4 ssd fail me within a week. I was still a bit novice to the pc world but I at least had a bearing on benchmarks. I slowly watched the speeds of the ssd slow down every day until the speeds were slower than the wd hdd in my system and then I sent an rma
for that clicky clicky
Granted my bad experience has just been gpu, I've had their b450 ds3h for 3? Years now and it's done me well apart from being a low end b450 lol
yiiiiiikes
Yea my swapped giggleboi ssd is actually kinda ridiculous
my experiences with gigabyte are mostly positive
but i had a gigabyte b550m that was DOA and it was so dead it killed a known good cpu and nvme
and then the replacement was also DOA
but it didn't kill anything with it
Lol
I love my g32qc
i like curved
I like curved too
I can't wait to post a pic of my first setup compared to a pic of what it's evolved into.
it has curves?

*issues
yeah I said tissues on purpose
Well I'll be
tissue for your issue
it's my bed time. I just pulled a 24 hour stint to complete the last expansion of ff14.
The website works for me
and that was with skipping all cutscenes and clicking through all dialoge without reading
pics or didn't happen
oh you are on phone
Yep
hm yeah loads up fine on my phone too
Local internet provider could be your problem
lol
same internet that my phone is going through
like.. the internet from my phone is what my pc uses
The heck
It was working fine on my pc yesterday and Ravell is having issues seeing it on his pc as well
120mbps DL and 40 mbps UL for $60 a month VS 50mbps DL and 15 mbps UL for $150 through a ISP.
Flat monitors

Flat monitors are the best
best economic headset+mic for gaming?
Define "economic" because that could mean $50 or $500 depending
Could even mean a $10 headset from the supermarket lol
Pc part picker is saying i would need to update the bios on my mobo to properly support my cpu
Agony
It's unlikely you would actually need to at this point. Even X570 boards should be updated enough to support 5000 series unless it's one of the ones that came out a few months ago.
If it's Intel don't even worry about it.
12400f and some b660 had some issues with bios early on but the chances of having that issue now are quite low
Ofc not just the f sku but yeah
Tfw earlyish in 12th gen release I had to use my 12400f to update a friend's b660m-a pro so it would support his 12400f 💀
Only Intel is capable of pulling something like that off
Hey guys, what do you guys suggest in power supply? Is ROG a good one? I see rog Thor 1200 wat is less expensive than rog Thor 1000w p2 anyone knows the difference between them?
What gpu and cpu are you running
I have Intel i9 129000k and 3080 ti tuf oc
If I’m not wrong the p2 is the newer version
Yes it is but what’s so special about it?
I would run those two off a cheaper 1000W than the Thor ones
Can also go lower but good for peace of mind
Supernova G6 is always the first one that comes to mind
I am trying to find a quality power supply that can support the whole built

Thor is good quality iirc but it's also priced more than it needs to be
Like a lot more
Yeah the p2 is like $300
Yes very over priced haha
Price increased it was 287$

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/QdFbt6/evga-supernova-g6-1000-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-220-g6-1000-x1
As said above the supernova g6 is good
Supported by lga1700
Ofc it is
Ofc
As an owner of a 12900K I can personally vouch there's no special psu type needed
As long it does the job without issue I don’t care about names lol
I'd def pick the G6 if it were me, it's a stellar unit all around
also the cheapest of the 3
Nice pick thanks for the recommendation guys
Oh that isn't even a agf lol, that's just an ag
It's stil agf based iirc
But yeah G6 rocks, and it's a solid value too
What’s your built guys?
My brains glitching atm
Same here
🤣🤣🤣
Maybe try and see if there's a update or maybe try a restart?
Power cycle brain
As far as the windows 11 any special editions needed?
Not really no
Well the issue is I havent taken anything in the last two days but I feel high
For most people home works fine
And im at work
Gotcha thanks guys
I had a seizure reading this because it didn't make sense lmfao
I meant haven't
Ye ik
Wth you can mount more than 10 sata drives in the Lancool 3
I reread that like 5x thinking i was an idiot lmao
Better than walking ig
My brain feels foggy and my reaction time is slow
What cl is your brain?
Right now, 60
Last question lol about storage, what hard drive ssd do you guys recommend for best performance and price gaming model!
Or I'm just adjusting idfk
USA?
Yes
Ssd? P31 if you're gaming, s70 blade if you're not
What would you be using the drive for?
Hdd, x300 or most Seagate/wd drives
Gaming computer and work
Does your work involve writing and reading a ton of files?
Actually p41/s70 blade for not gaming
Yes
Then yeah a nice P41 or s70 blade would be nice
Lemme see what else is nice in that range
Sure haha
Actually ye s70 blade would fit both needs
What capacity of drive are you looking for?
2tb
Aight I'll check
S70 is $200 rn
I don’t know if my motherboard can support 2 hard drives
Does it have an m.2 slot?
I might get a good one for gaming and cheaper one for storage
Or do you need a sata drive
Then I'd get an ssd and a hard drive
On a 12900K board? I would riot if it didn't
I got hero z690
4tb hdd for storage would be good, x300 or a seagate/wed
Didn't see the build from earlier
Lmao imagine if it was h610
You're good lol. Wasn't directed like that
Specifically that one h610 without an nvme slot from assrock
Hdv?
Indeed
Is it better than Samsung 980 pro right?
980 pro overpriced
I see wow
P41 is genuinely one of the best, if not the best gen 4 ssd
We are paying for brand more lol
S70 blade is definitely up there too
Samsung made a name for itself and now it can flex that price
Marketing at it's finest
Lol
Thanks guys you’re the best
Np
best economic headset+mic for gaming? below 50
^ we already replied
.
You need to be more specific
that is why i defined
mb i did not answer earlier i was doing something
Trying to be as cheap as possible? Or max $50?
$10 more I know HyperX Cloud II's are decent but this isn't my strong suit
#peripherals-and-displays normally has more veterans of this field lurking
Hi everyone, I bought a gaming chair last year but it's giving me a back pain and it's not comfortable, does anyone know a great chair for a good price?
Also I would like to know the best ddr 5 ram I can get in the market 32gb. is 64gb needed for gaming and multi tasking or 32gb is enough?
32gb still more than enough, have you already bought a ddr5 board?
Also good chairs are usually not gaming chairs
Another question for the #peripherals-and-displays channel but office chairs are great
Sure, I will ask about that there
The best of the best isn't available rn, but if you were to pick now it'd be anything with hynix pretty much
But a lot of wasted value if you want cream of the crop stuff that's available today*
To me the best value/performance are HyperX Fury 2x16GB 6000 sticks
You get almost guaranteed hynix but it's also not stupid expensive
my friend recommended corsair dominator platinum, I was looking for something better in price and value
Ye dominator ddr5 is premium on premium like trident z5 lol
These are on the cheaper side of ddr5 iirc
I see, haha
You get the best chips but not overspend for them
(overspend in context of ddr5)
I would also consider taking the board back if it's still possible and getting a good ddr4 board
Ddr4 is still faster in games unless you do good ram OC
ow I haven't started the build yet
where can I find the best gaming computer for a 3080 graphic card?
You can run a 3080 with a 12400
There's a fair bit of misconception in the pc market about what's needed, I'll make a list rq of what would be a decent 3080 build all round
ow thank you very appreciated
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Or alternatively this since it's purely for gaming (this is faster)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jRC92m
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Ow thank you very much a lot cheaper than I expected haha
imo if you went 3080 12gb this is def worth the higher cost https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qFytt6/msi-geforce-rtx-3080-12gb-lhr-12-gb-gaming-z-trio-video-card-geforce-rtx-3080-gaming-z-trio-12g-lhr
That's the one in the list no?
I'll update it
oh wait nvrmind

i have like 20 pcpp lists open and clicked on the wrong one lmao

So yea, if you take the ddr5 board back, you'll def work out a lot cheaper overall
Even long-term since ddr5 is still going to get cheaper
And faster
definitely
@cyan ravine is ASRock Radeon RX 6900 XT 16 GB OC Formula Video Card better than asus tuf 3080 ti oc 12gb ? in gaming?
no value in a 3080 ti when 3080 12gb exists and comes within a couple % of it
and yes, in games, an OC Formula* has very few equals
I see, the winner is radeon rx 6900 then
@runic spruce dude photobombed himself. Lol
Nah it’s one of those fancy aios and it has a gif of his face on it
Oh ok lol
theres a lot i would change
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/R4tKHx/powercolor-radeon-rx-6800-xt-16-gb-red-dragon-oc-video-card-axrx-6800xt-16gbd6-3dhroc could also get this, if youre fine with an amd gpu
is theres any specific tool i need to assemble a pc?
No
Only your hands and a screwdriver and you're good
Preferably a magnetic one
Any toolkit should be fine lol
Sę
@fair pewter
oh i see thank you, i will review it
that list is for if youre gaming
if not, id change some stuff around
Ow is Radeon graphic card not supported by intel processor?
it is
no reason it wouldn't be
I see, I and my friend got the asus 3080 ti tuf OC and I am not sure if RX 6900 xt OC is a better option
3080 12gb is a better option
I see thanks
if theyre in the us
Intel cpu + AMD gpu just feels, interesting.
what about amd cpu and intel gpu
what does OC means lol can any graphic card be OC?
I see for high performance
It makes sense thanks
*unless it's a mech oc lmaoooooooo
Mech oc probs in some cases does slightly worse than non oc due to throttling
So 3080 is powerful than ps5/Xbox graphic card right?
yes
Easily
Interesting, do you need a special monitor for 3080?
No
Ofc if you want high resolution or high refresh rate then yeah you'll need a monitor that supports thay
https://youtu.be/UnvxSkqJ8ic?t=893 sounds like an air raid siren
The Alienware R13 is easily the worst pre-built gaming PC we've ever reviewed. Dell manages to downclock an i9 to equal an i7 performance instead, yet charges $5000 for the PC.

Unfortunately, eve...
I am looking for one but I am not sure which one to get in term of value
Okay thank you
Sounds about the same as modern hardware's fans in a h510
If I'm being honest
Never heard it
g27q is also priced well here in thailand :p
yes
Great!
M27Q is here rn
That is overpriced
I got mine for $300 and there used to be $250 deals
there used to be
current price is 360
it has been for a while
Ye overpriced
so it is not decently priced here
They have M27Q-R tho
G27q got different ghz which one 175ghz?
im sure theres some differences that makes it a worse buy than the g27q
g27q is 144, its not a big diff
My bad too late here and I am half sleepy
144 million hz
haha it's cool
that refresh rate go brr
one day, just you watch
that's what you think
That’s in 200 years from now lol
I should sell all my monitors bc I can't even see above 60hz 💀
lol
