They are vendor locked. You can't just solder a new one afaik. You can use external drives with thunderbolt but a good enclosure can be fairly expensive.
I've been looking at the 256v or 258v as a potential new laptop for work, I just use a browser and ms word though, nothing too heavy.
Can't quite compete with apple on battery life or build quality for the price. But it's as close as you'll get on battery for x86 windows and the Qualcomm ones are supposed to be really buggy with terrible software compatibility.
Next gen ones should be out pretty soon too.
