but tldr, i bought an Acer Bifrost a770 bc i found a great deal on it compared to what the LEs where then listed for. plan being ofc to get silly with my EVC and push it a bunch. but after i disassembled the card i came to realize that Acer reversed the voltage controllers as compared to the LE, and used an mp2975 for vcore and a 2979 for everything else, whereas the LE and most other models use either a 2979 for both, or a 79 for vcore and a 75 for the other minor rails and sometimes also vmem. turns out that the 2975 has absolutely 0 online documentation, and while the i2c registers are apparently similar enough to the 2979 to get some minor functionality, i could not get vid offsets or ioutgain working for voltage control and PL unlock respectively. so it was kinda useless for the whole purpose for which i purchased the card

so ffw and i found a deal on an LE, so i purchased that and listed the Acer. couldn't return it since i had already soldered to the i2c header like a dummy bc i just assumed that the better IC would be for vcore

now i have my LE but cooling is a huge limiting factor, so i've ordered an AIO i'm going to design a mount for

i will have my fun benching, and then will reassemble it in its normal cooler for display purposes and daily the b580 bc better driver support and so on
