at full throttle it would trip OPP on my PSU, but dropping the PL would cause it to not hit the larger voltage limit the KP bios had. so i did sort of a reverse shunt mod and put 8mohm resistors instead of the 5mohm ones, so it would pull less power but still boost voltage for moar clocks

yeah that's how most are. many don't even contact the main heatsink, it's a discrete alluminum cut plate that runs over the memory/VRM but doesn't contact the main coldplate or finstack at all
