Oh
You sure it wasn't just me with a nickname
What if I kill Prussia
I read that so wrong
Are you really into cars
I think it was something racer as his name
I forgot the exact discord name
vintageracer prob
Ohh yeah vintage my bad
He helped me out with my first build
they disappeared after a while
He left
Yeah that pc lasted me like 4 years started off mid range ended mid range
Never had a BSOD or anything with it either
I think 9700x and 9070xt is considered high end
It is
At the rate of change the industry is going through it may still be in 6 years
Ngl
Need more radeon cards like the 9070xt to wake nvidia tf up
okay so with RTX3060 at 100% usage at 85C (1080ti 0% at 27C) & like mostly high settings in RE4, I'm getting ~62fps... now to add some smoke & mirrors... (I think I actually know how to use this now but)
That's something a 9700X and 9070 XT user would say (you're not wrong though)
Game developers need to start optimizing their games to run on a 1070 with these prices these days
And ngl considering I got this pc for 1200 while overpaying on looks
oh waiiiit
I'm purple ;)
let me connect 1080ti to monitor
Motor is royalty
I should just make you blue again
Bro and people spend 3k on some trash Mac 😭
That'll normalise the server
I have a 2k MacBook lmao
And 2 iron tiles
Sure
I'm industrialising the hell out of wallonia
I'm in the airforce bro and the things I've seen people spend there money on
Oh I got it for free
I had someone arguing with me that Macs were better for gaming
Also I’m getting 2 more 6tb hdd for free 🙂
They have like 3 games over there lol wat
Yeah probably from your work right
From my dad
My dad gives me way too much tech stuff lmao
okay fr this time I hope
@median frigate are you sure they weren't just a masochist trying to escape from financing their 3 grand laptop paperweight
Yeah they don't even play games
💀
Mine literally is a paper weight
I barely use it
64gb of ram and 4tb of storage for what 😭
"you built that pc 3 years ago this Mac is new"
Macs are great until you realise they're just Dell XPS' with an even bigger brand tax
"and it connects with my phone and watch"
My dad has reasons to use em so
I can't even use one Idk how to do anything mac related
Wait til he learns your pc connects too
I had to watch a youtube video on how to restart one
I want a macbook but the notch will probably bother me
My dad has a 96gb ram and 4tb storage MacBook

I used to do IT as well and anytime there was a problem with a Mac there was one dude on the team everyone would send the ticket too
Damn
Isn't that like a 5 grand laptop
Yup
I have no real need for a laptop tbh
Cybersecurity teacher

He has a main, a backup, a secondary, a secondary backup
He runs Linux on it
That would tie it all together nvm
He runs Linux on his 60tb nas
And his home server
Wait I mixed those up
He runs it on his home server not his nas idk what im on rn
Damn neither of my parents know how to do any of those
I gotta up my knowledge on pc stuff so I don't gotta ask you guys so many questions lol
Damn
My mom can barely use newer windows without asking me or calling me how to do something
My parents don't know how to do anything I know how to do lol
I at least know how to build one confidently but not the best at descerning which parts are best
And I don’t even know how to explain it cuz Windows 11 is just a whole different thing
I’ve used it for maybe less than an hour
I can do lists, just not building (well)
Mobo manual is goated
Only thing that confused me when I built my first one was the fan hub
Unpopular opinion but most build guides just put people off cause they overcomplicate things
But that was actually simple
Instruction manual >
Fr bro it's really just following the manual
Tells you what everything is on the board
Counterpoint
Asking everyone how to build it just puts everyone else off instead
Lmao
i mean also not really
they do provide important detail
The first one I built I sent like 20 pics here to confirm 💀
lol how is this worse than single GPU rn
honestly i hate (video) build guides though
i much rather have a pdf build guide
When I watched them initially they were just talking about random things I didn’t understand
Read Instruction manual, learned how to do it within 15 mins
Regardless
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070, Okinos Aqua 3 MicroATX Mini Tower
I prefer them as I'm not gonna sit here for 6 hours answering every question (This has happened before I'm no longer nice)
This gotta be the best price to performance build rn
No
Actually the 9800x3d is probably overkill
The 990 is a weird pick but ok
For most right?
9800X3D is fine
Haven't bought that yet
Is there something else you'd choose?
For loading servers in rust?
T500 is op
Oh server hosts
no way, a free monitor and free keyboard and free mouse
Ok one sec
I gotta be able to load into rust server the fastest lol
Look into optane maybe
Actually I think loading a server in rust isn't related to your computer speed
Lowest latency storage
Oh loading into
Debloat >>>> highest performance
why you speedrunning
Gotta be the fastest on wipe day to your build spot
my schools' IT lead uses a Chromebook...
Yeah really not seeing anything worth it rn
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/99RwrH/klevv-cras-c910-1-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-k01tbm2sp0-c91
Schools don't count
Schools all use weird hardware choices for "Security" lmao
I can’t wait to go to college
They will use chromebooks because the executives wanted to
No more Chromebook!
no this is a personal choice lmao
Make a nas
That's just pain
yup
Theo organize your drives holy hell
On a scale of 1 to 10 how stupid would it be for me to get 2 2TB c910
@median frigate This would be like actually fastest but the point of it is redundant https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KmfxFT/teamgroup-t-force-ga-pro-1-tb-m2-2280-pcie-50-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-tm8ffj001t0c129
You don't get the value out of spending that much over a C910
0 if you need the storage
organized but C:\ needs more stuff
Uhhhh… I’ll have 13tb of storage in my new pc
I'm just chilling
12tb hdd 1tb ssd
oh I got my MP33 from RMA finally
now that I have both the Sabrent & the MP33
they've gone back to sitting on my desk like they did before when they were broken lol
don't mind the name
@median frigate Reason why I say this is games like rust will have like, milliseconds difference to gen 5 over any plain old gen 4 or 3, and mere seconds over sata because the IOPS speed of games aren't fast enough to leverage the extra speed anyway
hey rust load times actually kind of scale with faster drives
Once you hit the point of nvme, a well done install debloated properly is the hands down winner vs any super fast drive
I just want more ssd storage tbh
Debloat in every single case is ALWAYS better
true
yeah for gaming you can go real cheap on nvme. c910 is TLC tho which is nice for longevity
But with the same OS state, you can still get up to 20s faster on gen 4 over gen 3
it's just huge loads
rust 💀
On rust??
Same pc same install?
Mmmm idk how much I'd believe it then
Cos really stripped installs just beat the pants off it to a point where scaling is never worth that 1%
rust is not exactly known for its optimization
maybe
I'm sure there is something there with a 2 minute load time
But like, it will be literal seconds
I mean I'm kinda weird by rust player standards
And as @frigid stag pointed out, used optane >>>>> gen 5 if there's enough of a load to bring that difference out
I'm not the people that sweat on official
I play bigger maps with longer uptime, like monthly wipes
Optane would strip any nvme just cos consistent peak load
rip 3dxpoint though
Used optane isn't unobtanium tho
true, it's basically all used though
Like if it really matters that much, make it a genuinely good one
x2 is just gen 4 x4
And no if you are just doing a gaming build we do not recommend gen 5 to anyone
Gen 5 makes sense to like 1% of 1%
ight thank you
Klevv Cras C910 >>> Gen 5
@median frigate consider this https://www.ebay.com/itm/286202075540
Item: Intel Optane 905P 280GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe HHHL SSD SSDPED1D280GAH HP 927609-001 1. Items will be shipped within one business day of receiving cleared full payment; 1. PayPal Payments Only - All major credit/debit cards accepted via PayPal; 2. Payment must be made within 48 hours after winning eBay auction, otherwise, an unpaid case will opened...
Ah I see wym
Wait but that's only 280gbs
do you have a gen4 1tb m.2 suggestion
Mb lemme find better
Here
Klevv cras c910
$51 usd
OP value
It’s pretty expensive though
You might want the gen 5 instead when you see the price of optane
Again, if he can see the genuine difference that much, 905p would be better
optane is just how you get the best rnd performance
im buying new exclusively but is it a good pick for 89 for the 5000mb/s or 151 for the 5200mb/s
there's no beating optane for rnd
now I get why it seemed like fps was dropping with this whole scaling thing going
58fps is the input fps
117 is output
Pick this
Yeah bro seconds is huge in rust
5000 and 5200 is gonna end up basically the same
Unironically one of the best ssd you suggested
its just e16 speeds
so 1080ti is doing the framegen & 3060 is doing the rest
Then the 905p honestly
figured
It's faster then the c910?
Just double check the mobo has the slot to support a x4 gen 3 pcie**
And yes
It'll beat any nvme you can buy rn
Random perf is unbeatable
What's the FPS/CineBench score difference between 6000CL30 and JEDEC DDR5
Virtually nothing
Cos cinebench isn't a ram test
Jokes on you I ruin my random reads and writes accessing it over the network
I remember reading the AMD blog and saying that with Ryzen CPU performance is aided by a lot with fast memory
What makes it so much better just curious still don't fully understand lol
is 117fps @1440p in RE4 with most settings maxed out good for 3060+1080ti/13600K(stonk)/7200c34 2x24gb? I don't even know tbh lol
yea higher IF clocks helps with performance but it barely shows up in cinebench if at all
Cinebench doesn't leverage dram caching
It's purely cpu/ L cache
If L cache at all
Nor do games?
It doesn't even reach L3
Cinebench (at least anything from original to R23) score won't change regardless of your memory timings
tbh I hate Cinebench lol
rust has entered the chat
it's noob benchmark
Cinebench is a bad synthetic test
Okay then let me rephrase
What's the difference between JEDEC and 600CL30 DDR5 when you actually get to take advantage of the extra bandwidth/caching/whatever makes it important?
Rust is one of the few best use cases for X3D cache lmao
I don't know the technical term here
Quite sizeable
Where it counts you can see 20%+ scaling
10-15%?
ballpark number up to 15%
Ah
it looks like its using ur cpu's graphics
I mean it's cool for getting basics like multiplier, bclk, vCore, & LLC but otherwise it's a cooling ability/silicon lottery test if you ask me
Insane difference lol
With some actual tuning even more, hynix is like kinda set and forget
I remember some jedec 5200 v 5600 testing on launch at 10% or so
I don't think I even have iGPU drivers installed tbh
Guys is it ok for my 8gb test stick of ddr5 which is meant for 4800 mt/s to be clocked at 6000 mt/s
The "I can do it in 5 minutes if I use synced" type of tuning life yeah
depends on what the timings are
i'd make sure the displayport/hdmi is plugged in the right port
if timings are auto yea it's just gonna be terrible timings
I remember the last time I watched Jayztwocents, he claimed you didn't need to get good RAM cuz it didn't help your cinebench or port royal scores--neither of which are affected at ALL by memory speeds
Some ddr5 can't run 6000
Namely
i think its auto
Oh ye @mortal grail
Apparently there is now 6000CL26 memory available
As well as 8000CL28
I mean if hwbot boints is your goal yea
Is jay2cents a good source for learning more stuff
Those are cudimms, useless on AM5
This is probably a better source for learning
If you want to learn the unga bunga way
I've watched some of his Vids but I mainly watch Linus whenever I'm researching stuff
Its just gonna be like this until i get new ram
Not really no
Intel website got so many good guides
Bro what's that mean🤣
To be fair, he's specifically in the circles of overclocking CPU+GPU, memory is less important in the benchmarks he usually runs
What about Linus tho he's good right?
Depends where youre at
Oh boy
I mean samsung and hynix can both do 6000 with loose timings and some voltage lol
😬
GPU 1 is RTX 3060 (set as preferred GPU in System Settings>Display>Graphics) GPU 2 is GTX1080ti (Preferred GPU in Lossless Scaling). DP is connected to monitor from 1080ti. Am I doing it right? lol
Start with Twitter latency enthusiasts
their lab stuff, sometimes good, linus himself, very hit or miss
Has AMD said anything about maybe supporting CUDIMMs?
Exactly as he'd say it. He'd "what's that mean?" press stuff until he learns
Unga bunga ddr5 tuning
What this button do?

His older videos are better
well he cherry picked the two worst benchmarks to show how memory affects performance lol
Who's the best to watch to learn pc stuff then
He doesn’t really deal with ddr5 overclocking
Intel website probably
They got lot of guides
buildzoid if you have a lot of free time and are willing to listen to rants lol
I'm not saying it's good.
I'm saying for his very specific use case it could be true
But generally memory matters a lot now
He’s entertainment
lol "PC stuff" is kinda vague
So I realized I have to basically redo my whole pc, I ordered an ssd, mobo and about to get a cpu. When I do bios/windows installation do I need a cooler on the cpu? I just need to make sure it would be able to boot so when I get my case and aio figured out I'll have a decent installation.
Teach me overclocking stuff frfr
Yeah I just wanna know how to pick the best parts and not have to ask any questions
Newegg discord
Same with building in general

Yes, you need something on the CPU to cool it to boot, otherwise it'd likely just overheat (and beep at you if it has speakers) without booting
if Jay used ycruncher to show how unimportant RAM speed is, he'd look as ridiculous to his audience as he did to anyone who knows about benchmarks when he used Port Royal & CB lol
Intel website would prevent 90% of troubleshooting 😴
Give me 128gb
My friends might wanna build PCs too so I gotta put them on to what's best 😂

Chips and cheese is good if you want like, trained professionally type learning, skatterbench too
GN is good for reviews
Don’t throw them into the deep end
Buildzoid for some decent electronic learning
I don’t see a problem using CB if it’s not your only benchmark
Appreciate that. I'll just rip the aio out of my current build for the booting process then
32gb is quickly becoming the standard
ya just ask around here. The stuff I know is form talking to people here for the most part
Techpowerup is ok for technical details
beyond that it's mostly trial & error
FPS benchmarks are hit and miss tho
branch education for general specifics
wait tpu has a youtube channel?
Uh no i think you should plug it into the 3060, just try as a matter of fact
This is written some time ago but still kinda relevant
Also dumb question, do I do windows installation on another pc then put the ssd into the new mobo?
They do but not much depth
No
he's doing the lossless scaling framgen using a different GPU thing
do you want me to walk you through it
Derbauer is quite good
well then idk what im talking abt in that area lol
im a 1 gpu kinda guy
I don't have all the parts in front of me so not at the moment but I will be back lol
When did you guys get into overclocking? I probably should've tried on my last build since it was starting to become ass
HUB has great sources if you can ignore anything with ram dependency
When I was getting bad lows in 4k lol
GPU and vrm tests from them are pretty concise
Needing more fps
I'll try that. I thought I remembered hearing in eh... maybe Daniel Owens's video on lossless that you plug it into the GPU that does the frame gen? kinda makes sense cuz that would be the last stop before the monitor but I could be wrong so I'll run it again. It also might not matter lol
most part reviewers are kinda bad with ram
I probably won't since my new pc gonna be insane
Nice lol if you want you can friend me and I can assist you when you do build it
especially anandtech but they haven't been relevant for a while after ian left
My last pc definitely could've used it tho
im clueless on the subject lol
Kinda learned from them and then found the other stuff
That would be amazing
Another decent one ye
Hey anyone see that dude I met in Walmart here? He told me to join.
lmao
When I found out my vengeance ram could be faster.
@sinful blade i think that’s your guy
Was it a huge diff for you?
Then I learned vengeance sucked
ya the problem with RAM is unless you really care about RAM, you don't care about RAM. I remember trying to watch GN & Linus's videos explaining RAM & neither seemed very helpful at the time
And I improved tremendously
For gpu kinda, for the rest not really, cause I found out my ram couldn’t overclock well
heck I wonder if I could find my first overclocking question on this discord because this was the first place I ever mentioned it iirc
They still aren't
The best teachers for RAM for me is wegg
ram just has too many moving parts tbh
r/OC just abused me
buildzoid should have a good video for specifics
Wegg actually taught me things
BZ is good for like basic knowledge
He's honestly not the best ram overclocker
yea but he can actually pull up the spec sheets and explain everything lol
I wanna see more 7200mt/s
Yes he's great with technical details, not with practical details
he's more knowledge and not rules for OC
Search through Twitter and blur busters and you’ll find out some things
I kinda separate the two
lol I remember annoying Forks in VC cuz I kept calling my 10900K a one, zero, nine, zero, zero, K
But how much fps gain are you really gonna get from ocing ur ram
Is it worth all the trouble for a 2 fps increase
Displayninja iirc can have some excellent reviews
make it 20 with better frametime consistency
Depends on game maybe 30 %
the goal that people aim for
20 would be worth it
If you do it correctly, quite a bit for rust tbh. First couple times tho, if you're too brave, you'll make it worse not better
main improvement is the 1% lows iirc
What does ocing it do tho to increase the fps?
Main point is doing it correctly
I wish more reviewers compared older hardware with newer hardware, like a 9070xt with like a 7600 or even 12600k
Lower timings higher frequency
Improves latency and bandwidth for higher level caching
I can get better lows
means the cpu can process the memory faster?
Yes
It's not as limited by it
PC's are all about limits
I mean arguably
Going beyond 6000CL30 for Ryzen is kind of pointless
Intel loves as fast as possible memory tho
Bottlenecks if you will, but we don't talk about bottlenecks
By OC'ing you raise certain limits so the PC doesn't bounce off them as much
you're gonna have to access memory for one thing or another either way, if you can access that memory faster, you save on waiting time
I wonder how the image would change if higher speed memory would be stable with Ryzen
oh man the internet really is forever. I was so tempted to edit this but I'll just own it lmao
Why is that the case for ryzen can it not handle more past that?
MSI MPG Z490 woo
need to be unsynced above that
Isn't 2:1 also have a major performance penalty?
I have that motherboard somewhere lol
Compared to 1:1
and that loses performance until like 10000
My friend had his ram at 6400 and his pc kept shutting off
Unstable
Intel has the same issue it's just in a different manifestation
Then he switched it to 6000 and he was fine
Intel has gear 1 2 4
iirc ddr5 is all 2:1, it's either all 1:1 or all 2:1
Picture is so pixelated
I got 6600 to POST but couldn't even get it through ycruncher 1b
actually might be thinking Intel, everything gear 2
Intel is G2 for DDR5
ye for ddr5
Ryzen has Sync desync 1:1:1 or 2:1:1 or inf:1:1 or inf:2:1
Gear 2 = slow mo mode
Ye imc can’t run ddr5 speeds on intel that’s why
from 6000 up to like 8000
The syncing implies a physical limit for the bandwidth
So like
You know hdmi
Imagine hdmi 1.4 and 2.1
DDR5 10000M/T igpus probably like that one
for some reason I aim for FCLK to be 2/3 of MCLK
1.4 is 6000 on amd
2.1 is higher on amd, like 8000
It's not the best example but in terms of the limits of what the cpu itself can do
It's not far off
The cpu can't physically go faster without changing the way it runs
So very fast memory would supercharge Ryzen but rn we can't have that cuz IMC weaksauce
imc skill issue
Me while Intel can do 8000
Current ryzen still uses the same kind of IMC as zen 3
so 6600 (3300) = 2200 FCLK
6400 (3200) = 2133 FCLK
6200 (3100) = 2066 FCLK
next gen will be all new
Intel is 7200 gear 1 irrc
but maybe I'm just making crap up
That kinda sucks
However if and when a sufficient IMC is available, oh boy will those Hynix kits that everyone should get overclock hardcore
intel doesn't care about ram much well on raptorlake
2
2 for sure
Oof
do we have any monolithic chips on am5?
Hold on
apus
8000
you know
are they monolithic?
Isn't the IMC for DDR5 on the modules?
yep
thought it's all chiplet still
there's a 4 core epyc that sockets AM5
lemme double check
Or what am I mixing it up with?
I/O die
wait does RDNA 4 still use the chiplet design or they dropped it?
guessing the latter
dropped
Guys
Slow down
lol
Gotta overclock your brain rq
Then what's on the modules if the IMC is on the CPU?
The cpu cores
better than i3 14100???
IO die + 1 or 2 CCD's in banks of 6 or 8 cores each
No like
I remember that DDR5 moved something to the memory modules instead of the CPU
Voltage regulation
monolithic AMD chips have historically been better with hitting higher IF from io being also on a better process but not sure if that applied for this gen
Aite so that's what I mixed it up with lol
All ddr5 manages voltage rails via the sticks themselves for better signal
does look like 8600g and co are monolithic
newer DDR5 has cudimm
So a clock gen chip to match the requested speed
I'm hoping Zen6 will support CUDIMM
But the board needs to know what the clockgen chip is
They cost too much
Otherwise no dice
top 20 4-core 7zip
that is a negative but in due time itll drop to something reasonable
It's bound to have new IMCs so you might as well make it support the newest tech
Possible
oh wait
That might be interesting
That could also serve as a whole generational uplift itself so they won't necessarily use it
someone took laptop CPU & put it on LGA1700
ur thinking of the pmic
Imagine X3D with incredible memory performance
Ye that's the one, Felix helped me out but thanks to you too
CLK driver?
CLKGEN is cudimm
yeah it's just a lil vrm
So they basically applied the pmic idea to clocks as well for cudimm
i wana see someone epower a dimm eventually that'd be funny
12600HX beats Epyc 4124P for 4-core ycroncher tho
surprising
Melted sticks would be wild
the substrate on those screws mem signal integrity
Not negative, they cost too much cause I can’t afford it
does 4124p not have avx512?
don't think we're power limited on ddr5 rn though
only reason i can imagine 12600hx would beat it is avx512
It should do
nothing like b die scaling up to like 1.8v+
But zen 5 is 512, 4 is 256 plus 256
alder 512 is pretty doodoo as well
Idk if 4124 is 4 or 5
Imaging wanting avx512
lol I couldn't figure out why my CPU stayed so cool running AVX512 until I realized it drops clocks to freaking 4400
cursed chinese products pt. 69
i mean id rather have it than not have it
Is 512 like important really?
no
Intel doesn’t have it
for specific loads
So no
I would be surprised if a marketed workstation/server cpu wouldn't have avx512 support
lol it's arguably the best 4c/8t CPU besides Epyc 4124P
Lol
no offset u can disable?
XD
Intel doesn't have product stability either so IG that's also not important kek
couldn't find one tbh
512 on alder draws less power than avx2 even
Phantom spirit ftw
hm
probably same as avx2 tbh
AVX 2048
how is it that ycruncher is still the only bench that uses 512 lol
finally something strong FOR RPCS3
or wait dosent geekbench have one run that uses 512
[Ripperdoc intensifies]
i need kiroshi implants
lol ehh it pulled 334w with ecores disabled with direct die waterblock
wait speaking of rpcs3 im surprised no one has tested the 9950x3d on that emulator
just need to overclock eye now
isnt power draw borked on the older microcode that allows 512?
or is that a raptor thing
It's been done, meh improvement at best
proof?
i remember one of them doing vid*current instead of actual vcore
I really need to dismantle 3080ti/12900K & rebench 12900K with A-die

RPCS3 doesn't use enough 512 for it to matter
I forgot the source
bruh
lemme check
AVX512 on my G7400 went pretty nuts
It's been done tho
didn't raptor just not get 512 at all
nope
think alder had 512 for a while and then they patched
u can still get it on older alder chips
it's called that on everything isnt it?
100C on 2-core
microcode update for some exploit iirc
Idk tbh
Lol
Ah tpu mb
What batch number
Told u tho
heck what program was that again...
Not a number
userbenchmark still haven't reviewed the 9950x3d
i think bro blew up his house
You had to find old marked chips
idk about other boards but z690 ux lets u use the latest bios and still load avx512 microcode
oh wait now that i think about it
the cpu i messed with was felix's and it was on his board too lmao
ok but why exactly did intel disable 512? was it expensive?
That one has 512
yeah
I think he's went out to steal some some Empress Catherine-strength copium to somehow make himself delusional enough to somehow write a negative review of it
He'll be back
because both motorstorm games on my 13600k runs like poop
i could load 512 microcode on latest bios all i had to do was disable ecores
Ig I’ll order a few and find out
kpx and kryoe look disgusting there
People were still using weird pastes back then, not mine
Lmao
I could call the store and ask them but they’ll probably think something’s wrong for me asking about rectangles and ovals
Wth do you need 512 for
oh there was a lawsuit lmao
?
rarely
think avx512 going away had to deal with that
I mean so is hyperthreading
512 is basically entirely irrelevant unless u play emulated games or do hwbot
Ig they got rid of it too
but muh hwbot points
It's literally just a scorepadding thing for the most part
pay 2 win dlc
With how poor the implementation can be
scorepadding?
Proving them wrong. Based
Anything after 12th gen has 0 chance of having it
And new 12th gen cpus won't have it
oh well
You had to disables e-core to enable avx512
That is such a generalized statement as to be absurd
There’s new 12th gen?
Then they just decided to fuse it off
he means newer batches
Well i mean newer
only early batches had 512
Which games tho
It is literally what some people say
there's actually a single 12900ks with 512 iirc
Lmao
it might be true that MOST games do not use it, but you can not say that none at all do
i think it was a splave chip
Apex is AVX/2
Games also don't use PhysX
512 is used for like RPCS3 and that's basically it
MMTool
Maybe a handful of mid 2010 games
you can edit BIOS & change microcode
@mortal grail new gpu for you to recommend
Ik
PS3 emulation instruction set XD
7650 GRE also
if every cpu had avx512 then maybe we'd see it being implemented more
but nooooo intel is stupid
Holy good deal but thats been out for a bit
Paywall opportunity
lmao
AVX-1024 when /j
$10 a month for 512
didn't Intel have the OC warranty thing for a while and no one used it
the what
Anyone remember when Intel did actually do DLC for CPU features?
Lol uncharted is one of the only games that scale from 512 on pc
lemme find it
Bro are these legit
imagine microsoft for whatever reason decided that on their next windows version AVX512 is a requirement to install and run the OS
windows 512
Do AMD have it?
yea
yes
ryzen 9000
Heh
am5 has full 512
It's also for switch emulation
even more full than x299 even
Wait even Ryzen 7000?
Pretty much this
Switch is like jaguar processor so yeah
damn it was 4 years ago
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-kills-off-performance-tuning-protection-plan-overclock-warranty
Scaling from 512 on PC is uncharted territory for other games
And 8000 yes
So AM5 is based for emulation, interesting
i mean they have no way to tell lol
Just get the amazon accidental protection
It’s much easier to use
it was a funny option for a bit
i still remembered when intel killed off laptop undervolting on tiger lake chips (11th gen) because of "plundervolt" ooooh so spooky 😡
i remember threadripper i think uses or used fuses internally that blow when u overclock them so amd knows when u rma
no questions asked replacement
True was nice
They blow when you remove the cpu out of the oem board yeah lmao
Lenovo exclusive pc's
that too
😭
I might unironically get Zen4 miniPC and get all the emulation software going on it and make a "PConsole" for gaming at work
LOCKED cpu
Steam Big Picture too
perfect
Intel already did it kek
💀
god modern pcs suck so much
lol
feels like satire lately
Nah, it'd be an iGP thing, no proper GPU
Everything is so locked down
For older games
First tier of Intel Battle Pass grants you blue-colored smoke instead of gray-colored smoke emitting from the CPU when it overheats
it's not just locked down, it's that it just objectively sucks
this looks like a scam
Well yeah
users will love that one
at this point they are the ones being used
Usually those low prices are for a different model, click on the listing and there's a bunch of different cards sold in one listing
Ill look
Ok buddy
this guy when mod mode
dosent asus have a microcode selection in bios?
They seem fine to me. Except the chiplet stuff
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808198627767.html it says 3080 ti
the z690 ux i played with let me use old 512 microcode with latest bios and it worked
yes but this is to edit the .cap file so you can add microcodes to select
oh fancy
Premium tier 1 experience (Armoury crate broke everything)
.🧢 is crazy lmao
I reinstalled windows and armory crate still try’s to install just to fail
No cap ong bro
That's actually funny
Yeerrr
/dev/nvme0n1p7
capper
Makes sense
Lenovo makes mobos?
Stop the .cap
nah its an OEM board extracted from an existing pc
Oh
but surprisingly its not proprietary
lol I looked all over trying to find the damn program
Well good for them
then it was in the BIOS & Firmware folder
well now it is but back then not so much heh
I try to stay organized & just confuse myself in the process
Organized Confusion
It was good while it lasted💀
😏
I'm going to yoink this
yoink anything you wish
Cool
but I didn't delete the partitions on the other drives
so I wouldn't have to redownload a bunch of crap
I did that too
is there a way to rebuild start menu? lol
But it borked itself
I've been slowly adding things back manually
so, none of their motherboards use anything proprietary? no restrictions on supported CPUs, RGB, what cases can be used?
only sometimes not proprietary
I just did Winget for most of my stuff
I manually reinstalled stuff in the same locations
it does it really fast cuz it's already there lol
Ah fair
just to rebuild part of the start menu
but like Steam detected all the installed games
but doesn't bother adding them back to Start Menu
like dammit
Ohhh that
I'm trying Ghost-Spectre for daily
Now you have to manually add each one lmao
dunno if I'll hate it but
it was an AM3+ motherboard so probably at the time it was near standard
ya exactly it's crappy
but now they use their own goofy stuff like HP/DELL
Lenovo, dell, and HP all make some proprietary mobos
ohh
what kind of particular stuff?
Well, a lot of them
Hp should die for their printers
Take your play higher with our latest OMEN Gaming PC Components. Learn more about OMEN's Components here.
their unfortunate Segway is the HP OMEN line
different cpu_pwr, board shape, heavy bios modifications
and much more
DIY my ass bro your printers barely work
i am hoping that this here Lenovo prebuilt has no, or at the very least minimal, proprietary parts
lol auto re-order ink or just stop working cuz evil Amazon ink
HP is gonna make an SSD that makes you pay a subscription for it
rent-a-printer for like $.25/page lol
lemme see these newer proprietary boards do NOT use standard 24pin for power
Honestly I barely use the start menu
I just use the search
Or win+r
they have their own psus
What a deal
You’ll be disappointed
A steal even, from my own wallet
95% of stuff I need is on taskbar lol
fr, they are not great for upgrades
like seriously
Fr
omg the wait is almost over
strange, I was told the one I got here wasn't proprietary
just wanted to know what specific parts would be proprietary
The only prebuilt from those three that aren’t proprietary is the Lenovo legion lines
Motherboard, which screws the cpu, ram
"advanced cooling"
I dunno about you but everytime I've seen an HP Omen, I get jealous & wish I could be cool & have some HP Omen stuff in my pathetic custom PC
and this is the one I use. considering swapping out the case sometime but don't know if i could do it
finally my day has come
You also can’t do that
When you buy an omen and get locked to 5200mhz ram
The case is specially formatted for the motherboard

looks nice but...its just another PSU lol
You’ll have to heavily modify the case internals
Which at that point, just buy a new build
I wish I had that
lol my favorite is those pre-builts that downclock memory if you put aftermarket & you can't change it
or awful motherboards with like the power button glued to it & sticks out of the case
I didn’t know their motherboards had that limit and I told my friend to buy a 6000 kit
Trolled
When I originally bought my prebuilt, it came with “5200mhz” ram, but the cpu couldn’t physically handle anything over 4800mhz
I think it was an Acer PC but let me not tarnish their good name starting rumors

when I bought my pre-built, it came destroyed by FedEx. Best thing that could've happened in hindsight tbh
If you ever wanna badmouth a company, I got one for you
Bad customer service
typical office pc
my dad used to buy like cheap model Dell PCs & wonder why they were so terrible
this pc opened my eyes (in terms of performance)
I remember he had this one piece of crap for like 8 years running Windows Vista
going from FX to a 10th gen i3 was nuts
He sound like people I know
had to like open Outlook at night so it'd be ready by the morning fr
i literally just bought a 9700x/7800xt prebuilt a few days ago

ayyy another 7800xt user
This is my prebuilt
Well, was
price was ok i guess
i just cant be bothered to build a pc
Yeah
1 year warranty
I replaced all the parts
Glad to see they believe in their work
Except the case
this looks exactly like a Corsair coldplate
They’re terrible customer service
Asked me every question before they ever wanted to send me a simple part
asetek
can always tell it's asetek from coldplate or just looking at the locking mechanism
I had a question about the ARGB hub, and they proceeded to ask me questions over 38 emails
lol so HP just decided to slap its name on some stuff already in the market ig
yeah asetek huge oem
just a few years ago they were practically the only oem everyone used
coz they had a patent on the pump in block design
thats most tech companies nowadays
i think it's voided nowadays tho
ngl I still wanna buy this & OC it but not enough to actually do it https://www.newegg.com/hp-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/0RN-000Z-00P46
damn guess i gotta change my profile soon
ah another embed fail
lol
