Full 4:4:4 is beyond hdmi 2.1 and dp 1.4a

That's dp80 territory (2.1)

And you wouldn't do 8 bit if you wanted actual hdr

That would be a weird trade off lmao

The last one barely clocks in at 30.77gbps

And that is with the proviso of DSC being active

So the answer to your question is go to hdmi 2.1 or dp80 cos none of those are ideal at all lol

It's just lossy compression of the data over the cable to try and fit more in less, it will make a noticeable difference

Way I see it is beyond 20% you will start encroaching that

And it'll be more noticeable at lower ppd

At 50% it can definitely be noticed quite easily

Some monitors use dual input to make up the difference

You're giving up an extra monitor port for that tho

And can be concerning if one of the ports dies

I can try a external kvm but the ones with edid support are very finicky and the ones that don't have edid support don't have edid so the mac won't wake from sleep when you switch to the pc and back
