CPU cooler
im talking about adding thermal pads or whatever to the back or other options
you can still get adie from corsair theyre just more expensive
its the successoor to the assassin with an extra heat pipe for like an extra dollar
live mixer is a weird name for a motherboard lmao
it has the best audio chip, that is why
the colors are mixed
yes
ngl, i'm honestly a lil nervous about recomennding asrock mobos for the 9800x3d rn
is that through something like an aux port, or does it affect usb sound too?
update already fixed it
true
there were posts as of yesterday with no boots
i been using asrock mobos and 9800x3ds, already have for like 5 people
all still work fine
white card in a black case is a bummer
i mean theres posts with it happening on MSI boards, its not an asrock issue persay
lightning under the heat spreader is cool though
its just a overwhleming majority of reports though
i'm sure most people would be fine
i'm not cofortable with it for my own build
PCPartPicker even tells you for some MSI motherboards that its an issue
wait can u just like email evga to sell you a motherboard cuz theyre not sold anywhere
there is a new 4000D
they dont have any in stock?
called the frame 4000D
even leftovers
i would assume they got rid of everything and only have enough boards for RMA, they wouldnt sell you those
no paste with the assassin
idk
pretty sure they do come with it
that case isnt the one im getting
im getting this one
yeah it comes with tf7
thats directly from the website, maybe theyre using outdated pics
ik someone that got old boards from emailing asus but theyre basically ewaste atp
you could save like 30 bucks on the psu for the 850 over the 1000
Very cool case, similar to what I was going to do before I changed my mind
unless you forsee yourself going to like a 5090 its really not that necessary
built in velcro for the cable management is cool too
Gf3 750w is same price
If not cheaper
yeah, i like that case a lot. if i had seen it earlier i might have chosen it
as a person with a 9800x3d the power consumption when gaming is nothing
Oh
i consume 180W under full load at 5.55GHz
Sick
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CBQVP6SS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2UXO5LPTDY3LN&th=1 is the 850 fine
just to save money?
would love to see smoke ran through it to see if it actually works like this though
i know u linked the 1000
overpriced
ten buck not a big enough save
but 1000w is so overkill
1000w is fine its just yeah a buit overkill
thx
That's opinion lol
do you have a monitor now btw? if so what is it?
ooooooh a pure power 12 is 99 dollars
nah i just asked cause im bored
but non modular
I got in the queue maybe last week?
yeah the nonmodular unit is worse
so only about a week from entry to received?

i didnt buy it
oh yeah, a tv
yup
Nono I got the email for the queue the other day
thats worth upgrading probably
mmhmm
oled is the best
ohh ok, i just entered today, i figure like a month or two
Saying I was up to buy one
havent seen the modular in forever
Apparently I have the RNG gods on my side but they're cruel to me
cruel to me too
smh
Well if MSI ships my 70ti soon it wont matter anyway
What's more cruel is when you're up next in the queue with no money to buy
on pcpartpicker it still shows the modular unit in pics, i was about to use then i realized wait this is nonmodular and performs worse, nevermind
Also I'm happy with my 3090
Probably won't upgrade for a while
i was happy with the 3080 in gneral things but the recent games i've been playing showed me its limits
if you're waiting on paypal credit to buy the bundle, how are you paying for all the other parts from amazon?
just returned that card
You're probably CPU limited cause my 3090 plays anything I want
i am gonna get those later
amazon gonna take a month to get me my refund
My baby
those im paying upfront
not the strimmers bruh
Why everyone hates them
worse quality, and theyre really ugly
the phantom spirit comes with thermal paste right>
yes
i swear people who used them always have them on epilepsy mode
does it do the job well tho
They work just fine for me and they haven't failed yet
yet
we out here flexin
or is it bad quality
they cause power issues sometimes
all extensions are poo
idk lol
That I agree since I moved them to the other PSU no more random black outs
i heard their is bad paste
tf7 is good paste
kk
not thermalrights
whoever says that is a shill for some company
lol noctua paste is worse, and people still buy that garbage
because the difference between like a cheap 4 dollar paste and a 10 dollar tube is minimal
guys nzxt paste is the best paste frfr real ong
Btw the cable that was powering the strimmers were warm when I swapped it the other PSU
i have pink thermalpaste
you're one of those people
im going to buy one of those stencils so i can do a cool design with my thermal paste
kryonaut extreme
Liquid metal FTW
IIRC they're about the same ngl
mayonnaise thermal paste
like
Zizzio paste better
i mean like price wise
they're effectively indistinguishable for performance
i cant talk crap i've bought kyronaut before
It’s a random Chinese knockoff paste but it’s good
i get it for cheap, extreme performs well on AIOs
Side bar I had to use a 40lb dumbbell to knock the base off of my computer chair cause I don't have a hammer lol
but it was a weird sale that bought it to like a dollar and a half
Worked better than I thought
wtf is a cryo sheet, never seen that before
doesnt matter when they arent reaching gamers at a good price
its in the name buddy
lemme get that sick rog pattern for my paste
I think the issue is primarily just
AMD not being able to get enough dies
-5c
meh
😄
Okay that is actually really funny considering I'm pretty sure the site's owners don't even have that many total sold lmao
Ive seen quite a few cards that are out of stock saying a ton of people have it in their cart. I think they have API issues
it is
or just straight up lie
I get a lot of telegram alerts for cards that never go in stock, think their API is clunky lately
or stock tracker websites will show all the bundles in stock but they arent, just weird stuff on the back-end or caching or something
i dont mess with network/web traffic stuff, too obscure for my smooth brain

I am seeing a few more cards staying in stock for longer, usually in the $900-1100 range. Either demand is slowing or people are less fomo
Don't forget about the spring air needed for the tires very important
only 20+ for the gold plated deluxe
Spoilers, sorry
Hmm yes and the seat lubricant

And gas for the heated seats
Where's the crank to charge the battery
5080s stay in stock for awhile past $1100, dont think many people want to stomach that increase over "msrp"
Welp I guess the base to my chair needed a swap
Feels like a new chair again
Plus need wheels I wanted to try
Only chair that support my fat ass
Lol
i want a herman miller, but its kinda silly pricing
Paid 200$ for a arozi Verona XL
Had it for like 3 years
You don’t want it trust me
never been a big fan of the gaming style chairs
You can find some herman miller used or refurbished for like 200-500usd if you look around
A shortened version of JDM: Japanese Drift Master's upcoming launch trailer, as shown during FGS Live From GDC, revealing the game's release date of May 21st. @rancid juniper
newegg dropping like 5 different 5080 models in the last couple minutes, big restock day 😄
I tried a 300 to 400$ chair a few years ago. Way more comfortable than Herman Miller aeron
I need a chair with a 350lb limit lol
Made me realise how overhyped they were
id love to know how they decide to use shuffle
i think i'd get the embody if i ever got one
For chairs it’s best to try it before buying
I need the big n tall version of chairs lol
I wish I got that chair used for 200, or a cheaper one for 60 instead of a new IKEA one
Hence the Verona
the last chair i got was a refurb from crandall, steelcase leap v2
This chair is over 5years old and parts are still available which is nice and 60$ for the base isn't bad
i have nowhere to go try a chair here before buying so its tough
Sometimes you gotta take a leap of faith
looks like the asus isnt in stock, that sold out quick, so asus has people willing to pay a premium
well the refurb i got was $700 so yeah i took a leap of faith alright
700 for a chair ?????
its an investment into my back health since im usuall in it 8+ hours a day
You know fair
which is ironic cause my knees are failing me from sitting all the time lmao
I'm 6"4 350lbs so chairs end up breaking on me
The Verona XL is extremely comfortable and has lasted me years
i used to get the big & tall leather chairs from staples
Only reason why I keep investing on it
i almost got the embody instead at that time, but it was $1500
i have a hyken staples chair its still ok
Mine was 1/10 of that
What's an embody?
Herman Miller chair
The Embody office chair increases the physical harmony between people and their technology. It has set a new benchmark for ergonomic seating that supports healthful movement.
@_@ y'all talk about me about flexing
joker aoffice chairs are expensive
I believe but Damm
I’d be 100% happy with mine if it actually reclined
you cant really put a price on posture/back health when youre in a chair all day
I paid like 60 for it 5 years ago though so can’t complain too much
For 1500$ it better be doing my taxes and giving me aim bot
Except that I could’ve got a used one for like 20 more which was way better
But it is what it is
100-150 dollar mesh office chairs still ok
the 5090 of chairs
I get it I understand sorry for the argument
Just making sure lol couldn't read the room
nah its all good in here, hasnt been bad since that one kid was in here going wild cause he paid $2700 for his prebuilt
I heard rumors of that lol
I just swapped the base of my chair and it feels like new
I think it was on its last leg pun intended
watching that unfold made me afraid to ever share my full build list cause im overpaying too, but not as much lol
Though it pissed me off not having a hammer and using a 40lb dumbbell to hammer is off was satisfying
The gym has been helping
yeah health/fitness is my number one focus this year
Ummmm I paid 200 for a 14900k and 300 for a 3090
Got a free pump from Amazon
It was the rads and tubing that killed me
And block
the year is off to a good start, just gotta maintain momentum. But now that winter is ending, I will start doing big hikes which should push the changes even more
You got this
3 weeks in and actually I lost 10lbs
3 weeks consecutively I just took a break today
I kinda started focusing on my arms
ive been doing every other day but this week started adding more on off days
im actually becoming addicted to exercise which is something i never thought id say
It's definitely a stress relief
god i hate clickbait
It's the diet that's killing me
?
seeing the omg msi 1250w psu has only 1 8 pin its anti amd
Yeah um definitely click bait lol
its not anti amd, who is buying a 1200w psu for an amd card
Doubt MSI would switch up the standards for a PSU
there's probably some obscure use case for it
msi store get it together
its also just like 2 psus out oftheir inetire lineup
all this fake outrage is annoying
they make some interesting cases
where are you seeing this outrage?
dumb posts and tech "news"
BTW for the Dennys enjoyers, this is not a meme/fake
ik i saw it this morning trying to see that the denny's birthday stuff was
Wtf
its because jensen was a denny's employee
The wheels I got btw
I bet Denny's is getting a metric boatload of money for that promotion
its not a bad price either
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy1_9dcToJU
GN goes hard on it in part of their new video, its great
Support GN and also have 10% of the sale go toward the Kramden Institute's e-waste and refurb program during this promo: https://store.gamersnexus.net/ We sponsored ourselves for this one, so grabbing one of our PC building modmats, project and soldering mats, dice kits, mugs, or other items will directly support us -- and while this lasts, the ...
I hate that information
we all start somewhere
Seems like all the big tech guys eventually have people turn on them, kinda funny
I hate Denny’s
when anything gets too big really
i wont be surprised to see AMD have more hitpieces in a few years
Hello
i dont think theyre competitive enough yet for anyone to care
they still have a big gap to close
in the cpu diy game
zen 5 was a rather large disappointment
and with how hard nvidia is leaning into AI, I feel like AMD isnt going to catch up anytime soon
I'm betting the 9070's converted a lot of people to team red now though, or at least made them a consideration going forward
A lot is an understatement
you know surprisingly i dont hear coil wine
only number i understand is the temp lmao
other than that id think this is a volt meter from an electrical box or something lol
It's a flow meter lol
L/min liters per min
I think that's just calculated based of the flow
I normally keep the pumps at 3400rpm
Pretty sure if your pump is PWM, it'll report speed
Muscle car engine-tier pump lol
Are they not annoying with noise?

If I could afford it I think the fans with the screens on them showing the temp and stuff are cool. But I also recognize how silly they are and wasteful for money
Not really no
Meh not my style
I prefer a useless fan with an image lmao
Yeah, I'm getting $9 fans
Thermalright has some $80-100 aios with an lcd display
Yeah I was originally gonna get one, but decided against it
Oh wow $70 for the 240
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/C9vD4D/thermalright-frozen-warframe-argb-7084-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-frozen-warframe-240-black-argb
The pattern on the aio I'm getting will match the mirrored effect of the fans
Yeppers
I got 12 120mm 2k rpm fans and 2 3k 140mm fans and 2 2k rpm 140mm fans lol
And a sensorpanel display under the main monitor
Thats obscene lmao
This will be my first "RGB" build. But I'm not doing unicorn puke, I'm doing like black and white colors or black and red or orange or something, rgb but not crazy
My current case is using the noctua grey fans, forget their name
iPPC fans are only really important if you like
Do a no RGB custom loop where you absolutely need the highest tier reliability
And do stupid stuff that needs you brute forcing airflow
That why my system was turning off too much RGB?
Nah I don't think so
Tho I dunno the situation
But if you get random shutdowns
My first guess is inadequate/dying PSU
Long story short 2 1300w PSU connected together but I kept getting blackouts just shutting off.....swapped the connector for the strimmers and fan controllers to the secondary PSU (connected to the gpu) and now no more blackouts
My thoughts exactly
You like
Plugged the PSUs into each other???
Or you had like a dedicated GPU power supply for some reason?
Much less two 1.3kw units
Like why
Yep they work in tandem
It's so nonsensical
That's disgusting
Ik ik
Interesting
Paid 70$ for one of them
Was it used?
eBay
Yep, it's likely a failing one
It's working just fine
I paid 20$ for the strimmers new
Doing this is just asking for trouble
Gotta love the marketplace
That's 20 bucks wasted
👋 🎮
JP wassup
Cuz unironically the Strimers often cause system instability considering they suck
Everything is working fine now
Hey joker
For now
Ur PC?
I think it'd have been significantly easier to just use a single PSU
And not bother with this
The spiders nest yeah
Cuz if you use 1300 watts on your CPU alone
You have issues
Or a supercomputer
@dusk knot actually how many like 128 core Epyc CPUs can run off of a 1300w PSU?
Like 5 or 6?
Another long story short is that I was making a single battery backup scream when I was playing cyberpunk and the battery back is rated for 1000w so I decided to split the load so a GPU is dedicated for one PSU and a dedicated Battery backup too
My area is prone for power outages
Also gives me more time to turn off the system
What mfing hardware do you run in that case???
LMAOO
The current gen ones?
Is it like dual Bulldozers or something stupid like that???
Ye
14900k and 3090 with a bios mod on it
On the high end, only 2-3
WHY
If you're utilizing it to the max
You have a 14900K and NOT have a 4090???
That's like
I have no words to express my thoughts rn
Just get a 9800X3D and you'd be perfectly fine with a single PSU
Wanna buy me one be my guest lol
I paid 300$ for a 3090 when they were still new
Hell you might have transient problems (dunno that particular unit's transient responses)
Racism is bad
But like
EVGA ftw3 ultra
You run a bios-modded 3090
I assume it's like an ultra-spicy BIOS that gives it like a thousand watts allowance or something stupid
There you go
There's your problem
I attempted that but was scared to keep it on
Why on Earth would you want to run a 3090 at 500 watts???
Especially with a 14900K which I will assume is water-cooled and set to permanent turbo all the time and draws like 400 watts as well
I undervolted the 14900k
Sorry part of my brain just leaked out my ears
Lol
Good thing I don't pay for light
I mean no disrespect but that feels wasteful for the sake of bragging rights
Hm
I'm still struggling to comprehend what might've led you here ngl
What like all the power supplies
Again my area is prone for power outages
A single 1000w battery backup was screaming when I was playing cyberpunk
Battery backup isn't for extended play sessions tho
It's there to save your work or progress and safely shut down
True but it gave me less then mins to turn off the system
2 minutes should be plenty for a shutdown lol
New batteries before you say anything about that
Hm
60 seconds including realizing the power outage, saving, quitting the game and shutting down completely
most power outages you would experience (depending on your area) is often just a quick flicker
UPS systems (even ones for datacenters that run 24/7 and require a 99.99% uptime) will not last for more than 15 minutes
And those cost like new car amounts
they have backup generators (often diesel or natural gas)
Like
I have noticed lately that I hear the backups switching to battery mode and back
your sensitivity might be set too high
It's once in a blue moon
My house is weird cause instead of the standard 15amp break it's 20amp
well that's not weird
still not weird
20a just means the circuit has more capacity
and 20a is required by code in certain rooms
POV you paid JerryXOC's stupid ass $500 for a full pc tune. yes this is a real "tune" he recently did, yes you see that correctly 14 million cpu errors within 11 seconds.
not strange
3 3d printers and a ac going simultaneously
Yeah I have 7 3d printers and 4 is the limit
@sweet phoenix @idle nexus @tranquil pebble have u heard of jerryxoc before, hes super memed
some guy recently came in this discord with some issues with their pc and it was from the "tuning" service they paid like $200 for or whatever
ongod
he fried traces on his z790 by wrapping in aluminum foil trying to "get rid of all EMI"
LOL
wait i remembered wrong
it was 85 bucks and it wasnt even overclocked

Is it really that big a deal if you have errors at all?
In OCCT that is
Like I'm fairly sure I have some errors even with just PBO enabled
I think it's probably either my mobo being garbo
My chip just being a lame duck
Or Windows being quirky
Maybe two out of the three
Or heck it could be all three at the same time
occt isnt even the hardest all core load to stress cpus on
so
yes
its a problem
even just a few errors
let alone 15 million in 10 seconds

ive never seen that, ive tuned pbo on many systems from ryzen 2000 up to current gen
maybe if you do it wrong?
I mean yeah that is ridiculous, small miracle it even runs
And it's a practical joke how awful my mobo is
So I'm attributing it to that
well it doesnt dude said its a stuttery mess and BSODs
the guy that paid for jerryxocs "tune"
what is it
aSUS Prime B650M-A II Wifi
The Benchmark Edition™️
U can get a cheap good b650, why dont u?
Am broke
is there a chart on b580 performance with some titles? thinking of getting one instead of 4060/7600 range but i need to know if it struggles with dcs for example
And I got scammed by the builder
Cant even spend $90?
Nope
😭
I still wouldn't get an intel gpu with all of their improvements
yeah true, also i know atp this is stupid but im considering the 4060 lol, yeah bad nvidia release but for 50$ more than a 7600 with all the nvidia features that might not even be a bad deal
Those are handled by my parents
What nvidia features would you even use..? Amd has equivalents to everything
But help was needed for this situation
So for now I'm broke until work picks up again
I have a 4080 and I've never once touched DLSS, FG, or RT
It's all useless gimmicks
ngl fsr is super bad and the new one is barely supported compared to dlss 4
i prefer amd for the price and always went amd but it's just unusable
no?
interesting
Unusable how?
I've been dailying amd cards for 4 years now, never once had an issue
awful shimmering, everything in the distance unrecognizable, i would say its literally better to play 720p instead of fsr in my experience
You must be looking at early versions of FSR
nah, tried it like 3 months ago with cyberpunk and it was awful
Hell it took nGreedAI like 4 years to FINALLY fix DLSS
i mean im not comparing the companies themselves, its just that nvidia has a more mature upscaling
And I can confirm to you that you used a significantly older FSR versions
hey blackhole wanna hop in vc i wanna show ya something
Because FSR3 is parity
I'm not comparing them? What
if youre busy i understand
Can't do that rn, on limited mobile data
all good
you talked about dlss being just as bad when it came out, didn't say it wasn't, nvidia isn't just superior to develop technologies, they just had more time to refine it
dlss and fsr are both still gimmicks, I don't see any reason why you would use it with a modern card
They're more or less parity with quality
Their app STILL being dogcrap be like
They've abandoned Shadowplay basically completely afaik
While AMD kept improving their own software tools
Wasn't shadow play just like a remote play from a mobile device
shadow play is SO glitchy
And consider this
For the same cost
You often get up to 30% more frames with AMD, while having no significant losses in feature set unless you're doing very niche content creation tasks
9070 XT is competing with the 5080 in performance and against the 5070 in price (according to MSRP)
The list is pretty long where nGreedAI is fleecing their customers
Look at the 5080 STILL having 16 gigs of VRAM
9070xt is closer to the 5070 yi
I only use it when my card can’t do 1440p at a good frame rate
I don't care if Team Green's pointless gimmick is 10% sharper than AMD's pointless gimmick
What I care about is getting more good-looking frames for less money
I can name a lot more uses
Those pointless gimmicks is what makes the company so profitable
Ai is no gimmick seeing how much it’s making Nvidia
Like it's all fake crap
massive bubble
It's gonna end like a housing crisis
I wouldn’t be surprised if dlss is scraps from other projects
With a gigantic crash that's gonna rock their crap
Once they start using practical use cases it probably won’t
oh also there's a couple of softwares that straight up refuse to work on amd or have like 10% of the performance, mostly with real time video upscaling stuff or ai related things, even if it's a handful of things
It makes a lot of money
But bubbles are bubbles
Again, those are gimmicks
The level of craze for AI is a bubble, nothing else
do you use any of those softwares?
blender, adobe suite, daz3d
blender is not good on amd
yes
Adobe wasnt that bad when i used it
yeah blender msotly
With a 4060 you aren't gonna be doing any cuda/ai related tasks well lmao, that's reserved for the higher tier cards
My AMD sucks at stable diffusion 🙂 unless zluda
A620 is actually fine
Rocm is ass
then yes go nvidia, but you're going to want more than 8gb vram
That board isn't
Depends on what CPU you wanna put in it
It’s crazy how AMD is only good on Linux for anything rocm based
7800X3D I'd argue is just fine
No upgrade ability to brrr
7950X hell nah
AM5 go whee tho
How many watts u running 7800x3d
yeah the 8gb vram argument is valid but at that price range unless you risk all the performance for the 12 on the 3060 you would have to jump a big price difference for the ti or 3070
Motherboard no brrrr
65???
105
there's some fine a620s
Probably because it was easier to integrate
No???
this sounds like outdated info or you're just hating AMD to hate it. The videos comparing FSR4 to DLSS show the gap has been closed significantly
I don’t mind far
Like all core power virus draw for a 7800X3D is 88 watts
Even that (admittedly bad) board can do that
i support amd as a company and making a lot of open source technologies and actually being competitive but i just wish they worked as well on workstation tasks or won in raytracing
Ironically if all you ever do is game
A620 isn't stupid if you pair it with a 7800X3D
I wanna see a cheap motherboard Handel my 13600kf, if I don’t tune it I will use 160w
It's 105
Do you ever do any of those workstation tasks tho?
At like 65w lmfao
I watched hubs video a couple weeks ago and it was pretty crazy to hear him say he preferred fsr 4 in one of the examples because of how it looked, but on average it was in between dlss 3 and 4
yeah, blender and fusion
It does, that's the limit with pbo
Pretty good for their first iteration of fsr 4
Highest I saw it go up to was 92 watts
I have seen so much hate directed at AMD because people are basing their opinions off what the hardware and software was years ago, not what it is today.
Anyone know why on bios my system fan is shown but the rpm is not detected?
I can imagine it will be identical to dlss within this year
Either way a620 is horrid
Can a620 Handel a 120w TDP https://www.techpowerup.com/cpu-specs/ryzen-7-7800x3d.c3022
The 9070xt is competitive in RT now. But I agree they're still severely lacking in productivity spaces.
Intel and Nvidia sucks cause they don’t work on Linux’s well
How about this
There's A620 boards that are just B650 boards with a software lock
So that statement is at least half-assed
an 18 game average would be much more accurate
Ok and? It being locked is a reason to say avoid it
they didnt make one
It sucks
Yeah I barely had amd problems
I think its a skill issue
are there even 18 games where RT is even worth turning on at this point lmao
You can literally just flash the B650 bios on it and have all the functionality for like half the price
Deal
Yeah a620 lightning wifi was pretty good but out of stock
It's also a Gigabyte ITX board lol
Nah prob like 3

Like a lot of companies do it
I used to feel the same about AMD GPU's, but this generation changed my opinion entirely.
Give me a 620 that can Handel a 7800x3d at full power
a620m pro rs is great
Actual A620 chipsets seems all but extinct by now
You need a manual programmer, and it will not always work, people are not going to do this or even know how, your point is meaningless
Yeah, so a 6 game average is probably all the games that are even remotely good for RT
multiple can
Like most can lmfaoooo
Theirs some that does the 120w?
RT is still largely a gimmick imo
not everyone needs manual cpu oc lol
Agaun6
Thought yall was smart
If I can’t make my cpu do what I want I don’t want it
It's NOT going to draw 120 watts. Ever.

But can it
It simply
Does not
It's 105w max, the tdp is 120w meaning 120w tdp cooler at minimum
Pbo? Anything, can it draw 120
It's never going to. It would actually immolate itself
That's why you can't OC
Because adding basically any more than 90 watts just kills it in a snap
It's happy at 88 watts or so
7800X3D can't do PBO
It's locked
You can undervolt
But you can't just jack perf like other 7000 series
How do u not know this lol?
Because of the cache above the cores
My 5500 can pbo kek, but it unstable
TFW 7800X3D made the 14900K obsolete for any game using 15% of the power
Only good for imc
theres people here who think 14900 is competitive with amd
The binning is horrid
But pbo gives a pretty small performance increase so its not a big deal that it cant do it
For cores
Ah yes
That explains every single awful take you have this far
To be fair I do beat a lot of AMD CPUs in multicore
That doesn't make your takes any less awful rofl
Windows is indeed lame
Xmp is ass, manual tune better
Linux is also lame for most users
Umm. 13-14th Gen good if your not an idiot
People can barely read these days, they aint doing command line
Sounds like skill issue
agreed
Call me when it's actually useful for anything other than command line lmao /s
I figured out how to use Linux faster than it took for me to use windows
Littelry anything
The self-immolation disagrees lmao
Including actual server manufacturers who know more about gear than any of us
Vms, pcie pass through, nas, self hosting stuff like home assistant. Sharing your gpu, Linux is more stable than windows because its purpose built
Like when you screw up so massively that every sane host provider just outright abandons your product
You know you're screwed
Also AMD drivers are open source on Linux
Did they fix the b580 yet
Oh, I also got better battery life in Linux with my laptop
You recite the words but none of them mean anything to 99% of people
What does is a familiar interface, wide compatibility and not needing to spend 3 hours to have a graphical user interface lmao
Cool, but they are differences that matter to somebody
Yeah yeah we get it
You think you're so much better than anyone else cuz you use Linux
You can’t ignore that it exist
I use both windows and Linux for Diffrent purposes
Anyone who gives a crap, raise your hands!
The only advantage windows has for me is the wider gaming support
You’re
You can use it just fine without it
Just depends on distro
Steam deck users
Nobara for example
Man I shouldn't say it but I really wanna
Oh yeah.. I was going to ssh into my server but I turned it off lmfao
Can windows ssh yet
I’d love to control my windows pc from a cmd line
I think cachy is easy to use as well
I really should go and sleep
I'm getting cranky
Mint too
Ive used stuff like Ubuntu I know, it's just too much work for the average person. I've never seen a use case where the benefit is worth the time investment
I love using ssh on laptops and monitoring them with btop
It's like almost 10pm and I've been up since 5am
Sleep
How long ago
If 14 year old
Me can figure it out, so can you
More weary than me
4 years later am goog at Linux
@nocturne flicker kinda wanna copy your build lmao
Trust me nobara is really easy to use
Thinking about it I spent pretty equal time on both is
Though it might be smarter to go 7800X3D+6800XT
I didn't say I cant figure it out, I said it's not worth my time
For 1440p anyway
2020ish
Thing is a 7700 is like half the price of a 7800X3D
In 2025 its really not that bad
It very much would be
Then again, I can just do the funni
7800X3D+7800xt
Also smarter to not be on 1080p so you can actually justify it
Agreed lol
I seriously think yall should split your partition and try nobara
Just split off like 100 gb
One day I shall replace my 1080p monitor
Is a 7800s build satisfying?
Both are 7800
CPU and GPU
It's a match made in heaven lel
Pricey for me tho
I just have to get annoyed enough with the color black inducing flickering and I'll replace it
I have no doubts, its just not worth my time. I wont gain enough to switch. If I was moving into DevOps or something, I'd learn it. But I spend enough time at working dealing with OS issues
Can u control bitfenix nova mesh tg case fans?
It is easy because every time I scroll on outlook it causes very bad flickering
@nocturne flicker the OCD friendly value oriented 1440p gaming PC?
How does that sound?
My gpu is making scary noises.....
I mean sure, X3D could be overkill for a 7800XT but like
It is perfect?
sounds like standard coil whine no?
Fan rubs against some things somewhere
Thats what mine sounds like when the encoder is being used
Or coil whine ye
wdym? encoder?
It's not a big deal @lavish stag
I mean, I would go anything X3D because there is no real reason not to if you are just gaming. Maybe if you are on a tight budget. Also, I dunno anything about GPUs right now because the GPU market is pain and scary
Nah thats amd sounds
alright thank god
You're fine
fan doesn't seem to rubbing against anything on the outside
A part of the gpu that processes video encoding
Its nothing bad
I am kinda budget constrained
However I play a lot of Paradox games that LOVE X3D
Yeah its coil whine
Mappies go brrr
I don't actually know how X3D impacts Paradox games besides that one Stellaris benchmark GN used to run
Like from a logical standpoint I know I SHOULD go 7800X3D instead of 7700
9800 good
i just started hearing coil whine today out of the blue...
Expensive tho
maybe you only just noticed it now
That being said
or perhaps certain loads cause the coil whine
It's only 10% more than the 7800X3D new
could be worse, could be 9950 prices for almost no gain in gaming performance and more power usage
I can get a used 7800X3D and save a bit, but even then it's like 50% more than the 7700 (that I can then PBO to make it an effective 7700X)
It's realistically a question of whether I can get a reasonably priced X3D chip
i mean the diff between non x and x was never worth
Also I've thrown together a parts list of my current build and the total spent makes me feel bad. And that isn't including all the money on stuff I replaced
if you have the means and want to no worries
as long as you aint playing scalper prices
Also that 5900x I broke
its gonna happen
as long as you arent going into debt, you can always make more monies
any mid high to high end gpu is probably going to have some whine
I got a free tree from subaru
WTF chat I'm taking a Google IT Support course on Coursera so I can get my Google IT Support certificate and they're teaching me how to build a freaking PC which I already know how to do..... Didn't know IT support technicians are supposed to build PC's as well lmao!
how can you support IT if you don't know how the computers function
well do you think most were entirely hardware iliterate?
its standard in most college curriculum (for IT) to take a PC repair course where you build PCs
IDK you tell me?
Is it???
yes
my programming degree made us take two courses dedicated to repairing and diagnosing hardware
Well then, I guess I will pretty much fly through this course easily then since I already know how to build PC's lol
Brand new 7700 is 100k HUF
Brand new 7700X is 125k HUF
Like new used 7800X3D with warranty is 130k HUF
Brand new 7800X3D is 186k HUF
Like new used 9800X3D with warranty is 205k HUF
Brand new 9800X3D is 230k HUF
had to use an anti static wrist strap and build the pc in front of the instructor like your assembling a rifle in the military
software and hardware are obviously well related to it not really a surprise man
I thought IT support technicians just fix errors and bugs on software apps lol
But yes
Until I got to the PC building material course here and I'm like wtf I already know how to build a PC lololol
never had a IT person ask you about lights or what physical things you tried before?
The value pick would be the 7700 (with PBO on)
But X3D is just really good)
I had to learn it for networking
Nope
you've had pretty bad IT
yeah a lot of IT support is dealing with people who have no concepts of computers. Asking them to reset hardware or find ports on a machine is one of the first things you always have to do. Knowing nothing about how a PC/device is laid out would make that hard.
how much is 30k huf to you
They were indian...
It's a pretty significant jump in money spent
Like
ok then its not worth it to you
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Lian Li Lancool II Mesh ATX Mid Tower

if you really have to think twice that hard
It's not the absolute end of the world for the X3D benefits
But it would eat into the budget
Why do most IT support people I talk to on the phone when I need help troubleshooting my PC always speak with an India accent???
a disc drive in 2025 wowzers
Holy storage
ah lancool 2 mesh, that was my dream case for a few years
How much is that
Because I know that it's REALL good
Spent more on storage than I did anything else
because its cheap labor
cause theyre cheap labor compared to people who speak english as a first language
It'd allow me to go ITX too cuz it doesn't need a lot of cooling
Which would be SWEET
I can't understand a thing they are saying to me with that Indian accent OMG
why do you need a disc drive?
Itx tax
That
you seem to really have an issue with it
you were real unlucky most indian support i've had have had pretty understandable english
Uses parts don't really have that
And I can get reasonably priced ITX boards for AM5
also pretty sure the mesh 2 cant support a disc drive
Yes, that's why I'm taking Google IT Support course on Coursera so I can learn it myself and maybe get a job as an IT support myself hehehe
So it's at least an option with the 7800X3D
I mean true
The tiny OCD fixer lol
But like… is there a reason to go itx or is it just smth you want

i have the mesh2 but in a heavy dust environment it needs to be cleaned quite often
its something they want
Desk space is critically low
Like
My desk is so cramped I can't even mouse properly
I do things with burning blu rays and PS3 emulation
is it possible to build a super power mini itx pc that can run triple aaa games???
is your floor that dirty?
Can you not put it under your desk
No space
Huh
idk mr i can build a pc can you?
most triple aaa games in 2025 suck
Triple aaa
time for a wall mounted build
i actually built my pc myself too soooooo
Also the ground gets wet and mold starts to grow on the wall if I don't give it ventilation
Only specific disk drives are compatible with PS3 blu rays unfortunately
ik I was being facetious
are you living in a sewer?
Where am I gonna source a wall mount case in bumheck middle of nowhere post-Soviet Eastern Europe???
do you have a bachelors in IT
if you can find PC components pretty sure you can find a wall mount case
Read the previous message
It might noz technically be a sewer but it's close
you don't need one to build a PC?
My dad can help but he’s never worked on more modern pcs
yeah but if you have a bachelor's in information technology you can get good IT jobs that pay very good
sounds like a tricky situation, maybe you should save money for better living space first 😄
Celling mount 🤔
Not locally and import fees would be like a quarter of my total budget
yeah i'm not interested in that
you can, but doesnt mean you will. there's a lot of jobless people with IT degrees
i'm studying in another field
well i am that's why i'm learning IT support online
brother idk what you want out of this conversation
me neither but it was good talk
you want a congratulations or something?
hahaha no
because ngl like following that convo was weird
at least you didnt use an indian accent
what just happened
I have no clue what was happening
did I get punked or something?
Yesn't
ye you need experience
Unpaid internship go brrrr
yep, almost every industry has that problem right now, but IT is one of the worst. Need experience to get a job, cant get a job cause no experience.
this is how i feel doing rotations
slavery with extra steps
for the “”exposure””
Slavery with less steps actually
yeah its slavery with almost no steps and complete upsides for the employer
just spent 100 bucks on a physical, and another 100 on a background check and a drug screening i gotta make an appointment for
unless you're really bad
people rag on internships, but i think theyre undervalued. its the main reason i never became a programmer. i chose not to do an internship during my degree and was the only one without a job on graduation day
yeah internships is one of the only reasons I would consider going to school tbh
not saying its impossible without one, but it goes a long way to not be a complete dunce after leaving school
experience is surpassing education as being more necessary these days
Just drop out like me. Completely no downsides trust me bro
Probably not as bad, but I did make a bad decision by not working during my first degree. I lived off student loans for two years, which was a massive L decision.
I didn't work at all. Focused entirely on being a full time student
But I was foolish enough to think degree = job, cause that's what we were taught as kids. But it was false, sent out 1500 resumes and got 0 callbacks.
but that was also before i learned 90% of jobs on LinkedIn are fake or placeholders to keep a running pool of applicants at all times.
depends on the field too
it's gotten so much worse since I finished school too. I feel bad for anyone trying to look for real job postings now
some of the more vague degrees that dont have obvious career paths are kinda like that
like philosophy or something liberal arts
I remember I got your application one time! I turned you down because you lost the game
cant even apply for jobs now without worrying about getting scammed
If you do a degree like this without a clear path to a career, it's your own fault imo
college costs way too much to do stupid obscure degrees
ye these days its true
too many people go for it
If I was a young lad getting started, I'd be finding some sort of trade to get into that I could tolerate
the trade fields have such a massive shortage of talent
oh ye they pay well too
plumbers can charge like $150/hr without emergency rates now because no one wants to fix toilets
its like residencies for medical professions
though you usually get paid for residency
not well but enough
