Yeah its basically just to try or to make some changes on your system that require a live instance
Like for example expanding your root partition
Windows can do that no problem but for linux you gotta boot into a live instance because the root partition is mounted when you are using the computer

Yeah. I think DVI lacks some tech (like high refresh rates, Freesync, stuff like that) but it was basically HDMI back in its day iirc
But yeah you can natively adapt it pretty easily. A lot easier than DP to HDMI

a blower-style 4070 Ti and a 280 in a Ridge
I wonder if it's possible
it'd probably be horrendously loud
but mechanically interesting
Or maybe deshroud the GPU and sacrifice a little bit of GPU temps by slotting the rad in where the GPU heatsink sits
Get the shroud off entirely, lay the 280mm rad right against the GPU heatsink and use the included fans as intake (or replace with Noctuas/slim 140s if need be to increase pressure going through them)
cuz that's 49.6mm thickness
you can get it to sub-2 slots
leaving potentially just enough space for a 280 to cool the CPU while still having the graphics horsepower to drive a 1440p high refresh rate experience
