Alfred was up to me today
bro got nerfed but is still coming
The stupid bastard is sitting off the the coast
Bro is quite literally taking the piss
black or white desk for a gaming setup?
Interesting
Black you really want like, a proper contrast to see things
Black also shows dirt easily
I guess the white at least contrasts with my mousepad
Dust you can see so easy on black lol
I recently swapped to white if you remember
I easily prefer it
These are the choices
Def white
(it's the exact same desk in two colors)
That's a really easy choice there lol
Motorized too so it's sit-stand
You gonna review cards and stand like steve?

:3
I'd need a stepstool for that
I got offered like a year or two ago, decided to finally step up for having chat control
bro really just wants to ban people now
bro is 6 days
You get your xt yet?
like
Not ready yet no
Ugh but like bro can’t believe I caved
7600X, 2×8 6000CL40 (Hynix sticks) with a 6700 XT and a 180hz monitor
What do you need to upgrade for your setup?
Half rank ddr5 gone is a start
Omg cl40
Desk, cable management, UPS, audio interface and microphone, webcam and lightbar
Do you need all that stuff?
that's what I can all get for the price of the upgrades I'd do
Nah, only wants to ban me
Like you’re actively using that stuff?
Do you have regular blackouts
Yes
I'm going to start streaming (maybe even vtubing) once I have the webcam
No, but we do have pretty bad storms in the spring and autumn
Thought live2d models used like phones
Don't need ups
How am I supposed to get my packages delivered then?
Lightbar is also neither here nor there
I mean I live in Florida I should have one lol
Fedex footy kicks
whats wrong with that
it's just something I threw in there cuz I have no desk lamp of my own
It's nice to have but if you don't regularly experience power outages or blackouts it's not really necessary
and I study at my comp desk too
my fear is more a storm frying my setup
Won't happen with a proper psu
I've just been living off a surge protector and it's all you need imo
your psu is meant to protect against surges
Surge protectors do work if you get a good one
Yeah get a UPS if you need to keep a pc running critically or live where power is unreliable
maybe 5 or 6 times a year
Don't get it just to have one
That's not nearly enough imo
Won't. Only if it truly sucks or your house is wired like ass
SMH when you don’t have to large hurricanes a year
My guy we spent 4 months last year rewiring everything in the house with like large gauge copper wires
Even made a mfing blueprint of all the work
You definitely don't need it then
New house electrics I'm not even worried
the idea was to have it be between the wall and the TV, networking gear + PC
so that nothing gets damaged even if something went wrong
ive known people rewire mansions in 2 months
but I can shift it down in priorities
u can rewrite a mansion in a day if u got everything staged
Japan rebuilds stations in 4 hours
@devout forum i really wouldn't worry about it
moving furnitures out of the room, breaking down the walls to remove the old wires and all that
if u hire 40 people u could do it a lot faster
If surges are a common thing there then sure but 6 blackouts a year, meh
me, my stepdad, mom and sister
I don't think they are?
power seems pretty stable overall
6 blackouts a year are like 3rd world standards
though I wouldn't want to XOC using it
Do you lose a device or two a year to a bad surge
pretty much how iran runs
Not that I know of
I already have a power bar that is supposedly surge protected
Buuuuuut I dun really trust it all that much
Then get a proper power board
i was thinking about getting link mobile home batteries for rooms
Proper psus have isolators for surge protection
but i honestly do not want a lithium ion battery exploding anywhere enar me
Fully agree tbh
Li ion is a lot of nuisance
u see that one video of the dude in china who had a bike battery explode while he was carrying it in an elevator? drowned in blood basically from the damage it did to inhaling
id need to port it outside in some way if it failed
most batteries arent that poorly made though but still its a thing that could happen
Out of the sun
Biggest issue with those is heat
heats fine i just dont want to drown in blood
Lithium cells go up just by being in the sun, to use ebikes for example
It's a common problem where I am
In the cool, in the shade, where there's nothing flammable
That's the best place
i wanted little wheely mobile battery power stations and id just feed everything off it and let it be drip fed from the house but.... ideas
You could buy that ye
it allegedly has Ethernet protection too?
Better than a ups imo (in terms of need)
yall realize a simple capacitor can protect against surges?
i wanted these
why are yall overreacting now like its the 1990s
surges dont really do much unless its a crazy flux
I don't think that's an RJ45 port on it
i just want it incase brown outs or w/e
That looks to me like an RJ11 port
Please tell me one of yall is a licensed electrician
That's 45
we had a licensed electrician oversee our work and he nodded on it
So he just stood in the corner and nodded
Ahh props to yall then, that's actually a big accomplishment

like bro your saying rj45 protection
cat 6 does 48V2A thats like what a $1 capacitor handles
"yes yes touch those wires together oooh yea"
its literally nothing
like he said "it's TECHNICALLY not regs work cuz y'all used better stuff than new building regs say, you're fine"
The stuff I've seen people DIY when I was apprenticing under my now ex's dad is wild
Yeah we weren't BSing
splicing grounds to live to jank tap in a power outlet
that's scary
thats fun
bet that smells wonderful
anyway
Tastes even better
I trust you on that, it'd be nice to not have to unplug everything every time
well i mean there is always the guys who charge crazy for amazing cable routing, but either way its not like you cant get away with a poorly routed cable box
I mean if $20 makes you feel better sure, just as long as it's not a $400 UPS
I've had sparkies that do it free
we had a system embedded into the back of a mobile platform that caught on fire once and u could only get to it by crawling into a giant cylinder to get to it, and whatever they used on those industrail things was like... toxic. so ur crawling in smoke/soot/dust of highly toxic electrical bonding chemicals
only 270
Hell I charge pretty simple rate for cable managing
im sure ima have fun cancers later
2200VA
well that just shows that your skill suck
APC one
Yeah really not needed
I can get it for much cheaper tbf
I didn't do that panel there lol
yall worrying about surges its just as stupid as people thinking static electricity does anything to modern motherboards lmfao
but I heard that if you get a UPS it should be high tier
If that was me it'd look better than my pc and bloody colour coded
Can you come manage my cable?
it can, it just doesnt happen often
https://ipon.hu/shop/termek/powerwalker-vi-2200-shl/2063555
This IDK whether worth it
ive defntly static zapped a mosfet and killed it
yeah - it doesn't.
but it is like 130 bucks
Don't need
ok
pretty much all modern well built pcbs have esd protection built it
ok so its impossible to happen
Thats actually terrible
thanks
it's a nice to have (y'know even if power does go out, you can stay online and whatnot)
yes its physically impossible
You don't need that
Lol
If you are worried about no power, get a generator
i never said that
Not a ups
im sure some static killed someones dads circuit in the 1980s
but no static gonna be killing an ROG board in 2025
ud be surprised the kind of static u can build up in certain geographic areas
ive arc'd a good 3 inches in dust storms
and youd be suprised how a component as small as your finger nail can discharge that much static
@mental yoke you in a dry area
B580'd?
i been all over
Cos static is common there
:3
Ltt had a pretty good video about static and pcs
it doesnt happen often
Lightning strikes
your building is meant to protect against that
grounding the space station is fun
What im just tryna say is that with the modern standards we have in 2025, if they are followed, you don't gotta worry about all that bs
its just advertising and consumerism
Think the last time I felt a static shock was a few months ago, I don't even worry about grounding myself it's so rare
boy cry wolf though, it can happen
Can I kill @mortal grail with static?
⚡
Palpatine lore says it's possible
I suppose that surge suppressor would be enough to stop that
If old boards can be killed, close enough
and if it dies, it's cheaper to replace than a 200 dollar UPS
Yes you really don't need a ups
surge protectors dont even die and they protect against that
go buy the really good ones on aliexpress
i actually was rubbing the bare cpu on a 2080ti on the carpet when i was sticking a water block on it
Aite then I'll switch it down the line
Belkin is really good and fairly inexpensive
Also comes with a 15k equipment warranty
Also just so yall know, i got a whole UPS built into my house to me its nothing more than a hastle
Ima be real with you rn
Did the same thing with my 4090
Belkin
sadly I dunno if they're being sold here
Is like
the worst paert about surge/static protection warnings, is when idiots ground them selves to the chasis and then turn power on while working on the pc
changing the batteries is more pain than the power running out twice a year
like bruh ur so close to completing the circuit please dont
LOL actually?
I mean the charging cables are kinda mid but everything else 0 issues
I've had more belkin cables fail than generic random amazon/aliexpress crap
ngl apple cables = 🤤
Yeah
#1 would be nanoleaf tho
Wtf is nanoleaf
Failure rate of 3 for every 1
Oh those dumb LED panels
bruh really?

how are led panels bad
like on a electronic standpoint i thought it was really hard to mess that up
I've replaced each set 3 times under a 2 year period via warranty
And yes
How
Tf

Is Club3D good with cables?
They're ok
Hot take I think cable creation make decent stuff
Ugreen too
Amazon basics cables>>>
Ugreen I've had like no bad cables ever
I've also had great luck with Anker cables
i dont think ive had any bad anker stuff
Im using their charging station, some 45w usbc/USB(normal) block and a lot of their USB-C cables
Haven't had a single one fail
Just so yall know
When it comes to chargers, specifically talking about gAn
big names like anker and ugreen usually are the ones that suck the most
ive had 4 of these for travelling for awhile and love them
suck in what way
Don't own any gan but will note that. I was considering one
im not sure what gan is besides some charging spec?
gimme tb5 power
Temps, flux in voltages, outputs. i was buying a GAN charger for my sister and went down the whole rabbit hole, from what i saw from many many comparisons and benchmarks its always the weird chineese ones that are like half the price and way better
that 240
CN has a huge push for fast charging
i want to say its just power but i also know the difference in quality
fast charging is just a gimmick isnt it though?
Tons of chinese mobile phones have like 80+W fast charging
no
Asia loves it man
Qi wireless is considered a gimmick
5 mins for a full iphone, why not?
i like wireless
Qi sucks
wireless doesnt suck though,
Mag wireless is nice
i thought companies just limit phone charging
Ahh i have Anker's 250w GaN charger and 0 issues from the few months I've had it so far
More expensive, heats up more, and takes more time
i dont see the benefit
RM 10 pro does 120W fast charging lmao
Use it for my phone and laptop and it works great
benefit is ill pay for it and deal with those u dont have to 😄
Being able to just put it down without making a mess
i like throwing my phone and not plugging it in
thats not what i meant, as in connect another 120W power to it and it doesnt fast charge
i want to get logitech lightspeed kb/mouse on a charging mat
They do that too
For CN phones fast charging is a feature
i wish it had wireless charger on top
id use QI for that all day
not for my phone though
i regret not getting huaweii before i left asia
I feel like Qi charging is just a big gimmick
there watch and phone combo is nice
Was talking about ugreen in particular
Lol
Ahh
It is for many. I like it cos I hate having cables everywhere and I never need a fast charge
The heating is the main concern i had
It's one of the 3 big reasons I picked the phone I did
QI is the one place where apple actually does a good job
ngl apple watch not able to be used on a normal mag safe charger kinda irks me
and its because they use good conductive metals
Magsafe is def better
Basically in apples term
magsafe is nice
Lower wattage (with apples cooling) > higher wattage(cheap chineese plastic)
But wireless charging is actually a make or break thing for me on phones lol
If I can't just put it down after work on the wireless pad then idgaf
ive honestly made it a point to not buy anything that isnt usb-c either
I don't wanna shuffle my drawer for a stupid charger and wire
tired of micro-usb cables laying around
And they tangle
Like we're fussing over something small sure, but the option is just, so nice to be able to use it
honestly, this is a more obscure use case, but i can charge my phone wirelessly and use the port for full fledged data in/out
it might not seem like much but when ur doing certain networking thing it helps
I would say similar to an aux jack
I want to have the option to continue using the phone for music or whatever if I need to charge it
yea thats one problem with usb tethering and charging and why wireless can solve some stuff on it
but i love throwing my phone somewhere to charge but even the magsafe has a lot of compatability issues with cases more than like 2mm thick
Oh yeah
It's truly a gimmick without the magsafe stuff around now
Getting it to charge properly
i never got the point of USB-B and micro usb
And no one decided to implement qi2 as well
god i hate micro usb so much
so
Cable spec in general is a whole can of worms
Why hdmi and dp
But also 10 versions of hdmi 2.1
Why 30 usb connectors but like 4 types can be usb 4
Lmao
Someone just said I give manager vibes idk if I should be offended or thankful…
can i get a raise?
I was a manager for 3 years, guess I picked up the demeanor
Remember, HDMI gives digital content protection, DP doesnt
educating people on the standard of the cable and the cable actually being the standard is a never ending battle
oh god not that again, i literally took months of my life learning all different cables
But like if they actually did things properly we wouldn't have tons of specs dictating what 2.1 is, is my point
Dolla bills yall
and id be lying if i knew what the diff between those were
You can buy a 1.4a hdmi and it can be 2.1 now
lmao what
Cos the publisher of the spec changed the way it qualifies
standards be damned
This was a whole thing like a year ago
I did not hear about this
Lemme see if I can dig it up
not a story the jedi would tell you
so they regressed some standard at 2.1 that 1.4a had to change to meet but when it was regressed 1.4 already met all the reqs?
Yeah here we go, my brain had it halfway there
2.0 not 1.4a
But similar big issue
Cos you can buy 2.1 thinking it does 38.4gbps, then it doesn't
thats a nice infograph leme peek it
Dp at least has the decency to mark this with dp 2.0/2.1
Dp40 and dp80 is the marking
computer engineering vs computer science?
whatever ur job wants u to have
yea 2.0 to 2.1 isnt bad, i was like literally going to be blown away by regreessing 2.1 to 1.4a lol
cus thats a lot
This is such an annoying thing on monitors
bro i'll bet you 100 bucks you cant tell me what any of the last 7 can do
Many say "2.1" now but don't do actual 2.1 bandwidth
inject ai into ur tv as soon as ur thinking stuff, ezpz
That's for soundbars
Iirc it's for passthrough audio via hdmi
ive never used arc
Most people don't
Lol I never learned that one but I'd like to think it's straightforward
there are a lot of really weird old standards hidden amongst computer systems, like windows has some stuff lol
Dvd audio being 1.1 spec probably as old as I am
dvd audio sounds like it was gonna be popping then blu-ray came along
tech just runs over previous tech
Having audio and arc over hdmi is so nice for home theater setups
Yeah earc is a whole thing for people
im just gonna go basic and get a sonos set
i never even know what bluray did
Dvd but better
its old
Like straight up
its all... uhhh 4kuhd now
? i think theres something newer
my movie tech is lacking
Blu ray was a sony thing wasn't it
yea
Proprietary tech
are they doing 8k physical media?
They shut down the last plant this month so idk
i have a massive 4uhd steelbook collection
Many films aren’t even shot in 8k
sitting in my dark dolby digital room with atmos is an experience
Not nearly enough to start selling movies in 8k
yea 8k will be a weird jump in display tech relying on a lot of ai upscaling i guess
wait for what?
arent 3rd world countries still on 720p?
Blu ray
lmfao
there has to be some media places still, physical backs up arent going to go away
Well I believe DVD is 720p
Optical media is still getting better but it won't be sony this time
ah
we still use tape
Jeez I've never seen anything like that before
thats not my pic but we had one similar
i dont even think thats real
You guys on tape cos it's reliable despite being old or another reason altogether
reliable, old, and other reasons
Whoa.
I bought 2 PS5 controllers from goodwill, wish me luck
Good luck
A short compilation of Kimi Räikkönen's legendary bwoah's and mwoah's from the 2016 Formula 1 season
I have a particular skill:
fr why don't they just use the real thing
I thought that was a Windows update meme for a second. I just woke up
Is it possible to change the shipping method of an order after you already bought it ?
Probably not
I just got a 5070 ti but bought it so fast that I didnt think to pay for faster shipping lol
How much
Not worth honestly if that wasn't a psu bundle
What's done is done. We shouldn't roast this guy. It'll just be a toxic morning for the whole chat and we don't need that lol
Yeah that's true lol
It wasn't but it was worth for me I just needed something tbh
I say at most like 5 lines and I'm done caring
It's fine the gpu market is ridiculous lmao
I paid $900 for my 3080 when I bought that now I just paid $970 for a 70 series lmaoooo
I mean up to you man but that price I'd have waited a while longer
Anyway
You can contact newegg cs if you want help with changing shipping
No one here is cs
But that should be doable if not shipped already
Well I wanted a 5080 but they are all 1300 - 1500 which is a bit over my budget I could get anything under $1k so I just went with that
ah ok i will try that ty
It's ok
Yeah I doubt it's possible to change the shipping speed though
Maybe I'll just wait I don't want to mess it up
If they can adjust the method then it'll adjust the speed but they will hold the gpu until it's sorted out
I was going to buy another and cancel the other but I didn't want my order to get cancelled lol
I tried buying the 9070 xt like 3 times and all my orders were cancelled which is why i got this
There are more 9070xt cards coming
Yeah I'd just wait. Even if you could change shipping speeds, I think atp they'd have to swap the whole shipping method (which would include shipping trucks, routes, etc.). Ultimately just not worth it because it's just begging to be lost in shipping atp
9070 is also 12% slower for 9% less money
If you're open to one of those still they will come back in stock
(Not to mention OC'able)
We don't know when but the narrative is it's coming back for sure and not going to be priced to the moon
Yeah 9070 xt is a way better value but it is what it is I just needed to get something
They're actually really close in value
Oh really? I guess at msrp tho
its insane that the AIB's are allowed to mark them up so much
It's even more wild when the pulse and swift are basically good enough for everyone
Good bins, decent design
Within a couple % of the uber premium
Anyway, food for thought
I think it be worth considering anyway but again up to you
Can understand feeling pressured into a choice (both by missing out and by advice lol)
The 9070 reminds me of the 6800 a bit tbh
It's like
Lmao yeah market sucks haha
Mostly there but it is deceptively strong performing
lolll
I didn't even know the 6800 existed until somebody mentioned it a couple days ago
6800 was underplayed a lot by people at launch
Wth
💀
You've been here longer than me what
lolll
Since like 2018(?)
That 2020 year is a lie lol. I was auto-kicked for swearing
I'm impressed you didn't know about that card
ikr 💀
Next you'll tell me you've never heard of the 7650 GRE
I wasn't as into PCs at the time. I was focused on school for a fat second
Bro okay I've NEVER heard of that GPU
Ik cos everyone hasn't
Most forgettable sku
💀
I forgot about it until bacca mentioned it yesterday
JP keeps winding up to make a huge announcement I swear
lmao
"I'm tired of sleeping"
If that's nsfw here then this whole chat has issues
Lmfao
💀
That just falls under gross imo
Nah everyone knows that one, you forgot about the 4095 GRE
Zeus bolt 4095 ti super xtx gre
Zeus save us
I have managed to never get kicked lol
Give us a 128GB GPU that does 437891437109x better at everything than Nvidia for like five cents
LOL I was auto banned for the night incident
Night incident?
I did get auto muted in a server once for accidentally sending an everyone ping while trying to tell someone not to do exactly that.
I'll dm you
dm me too please. I am also curious
Whoah
Whoah
"Feet pics Felix"
Yeah it probably happened I just don't remember
Cybertruck 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 meme song (Non-Copyright version)
For those wondering, the song is copyright except for this short part.
it matches the vehicle though, both being ugly
6800 XT or 6900 XT for 1440p native maxed out?
315 USD for 6800 XT, 488 for 6900 XT
I'm thinking 6800XT
but there is a ~15-20% difference in raw power
That 6900 XT is worth a normal used 6800 XT (actually, a hair more). Plus the used market is inflated atm nevertheless. I'd say go for the 6900 XT if you can and don't regret it later
That is, if you don't plan on upgrading soon after or if this is a secondary build or something. In that case, just go with the 6800 XT
Oh I didn't realize they were that close
6800 XT. It's a big price difference anyways and it's still a good GPU
Yep
I mean I amprobably gonna go used 4080 later if prices hold
and let my sister have the 6800 XT
I mean she's not gonna take advantage of it in Minecraft lmao
Or just get a 9070 XT to keep it all AMD and not evil
I wonder if my PSU would be able to handle it
What's your PSU? (And CPU?)
650w EVGA 650 GQ
7600X
would move up to a 7700 with an RGB stock cooler
it's painful yes
Maybe just go for an 850W and you won't have to upgrade later lol
(But yeah even 750W to 850W is still crazy in price :/ )
Oh I'd do that for the ITX rig it'd go into
it's more whether it'll be fine for my sister to use later
I'd still try to upgrade if possible. With the directly hardware is going in, 850W will be the minimum for a mid-end to high-end PC in the next half-decade
Hmmm
(maybe not quite the minimum, but you won't regret that 850W purchase in the next five years)
WE WALK LIKE DEAD PEOPLE WHO HAVENT DIED YET
Again the ITX rig I'll keep gets an 850
ohh okay
I'm hopeful I don't need to buy a 750 for my sister's build (cuz I already have a B-tier 650)
which she'd inherit
I mean
Honestly, I probably still should get it for her if she'll ever inherit another GPU from me
70 class gpu for over 800 😔
back in my day 70 class gpus were like 600cad 👴
or like 400usd
80 class GPUs used to be like 500 at one point too
kinda crazy to think that intel is probably older than most people in this server unless they are practically at retirement age
intel will be 60 before the end of the decade
also crazy to think that some companies have been around longer than even your grandparents
like, 3m is old enough to be your grandparent's parents
💀
ibm is also older than my remaining living grandparent by like 15 years
or actually only by like 10
since he's in his late 90s
Just want to say appreciate the help ya’ll
Just bought the 9800X3D and didnt realize there releasing a new one
How long has the 9800 cpu been out
What
like 2 months i think?
Bro what
they pressed enter before they could finish typing 💀
Bro probably typing a paragraph for that edit rn
i dont think they're releasing a new line? maybe just more models for the 9000 series
@fresh timber
they also have a mid generation refresh for laptops/mobile usually
My bad yea 9900
yeah that would be the same line
usually the x700 or such would have the best price to performance ratio though, at least historically

LOL
this is too wide 💀
bruh
@mortal grail I messed up man
I got a bundle I wanted last night with a nicer model and the psu would be decent as a backup to mess with
But then I saw the Msi stock notification and for the sh*** and giggles I brought it to checkout fully expecting it to be OOS
Like I even had to make a account so I was totally not expecting anything
But it went through for the ventus
Stop harassing me
The ventus is like the worst model in terms of cooling and volume but like it’s not unforgivable
Because it’s a two slot card with a thin heat sink
It’s just worse than the models that are overbuilt and don’t push past 60c on load
good use of RT?
it's unforgivable (i dont forgive it)
But like it’s not even a bad price
tiles having reflections makes sense
light bleed too
Mostly that it’s loud
But an aggressive fan curve brings it to like 34-35dcb
UNDERVOLT
loudest hottest design
And that would bring it lower
Yeah the cooler it like only 1kg
for the general user tho ventus is probably not recommended
And it’s a two slot card
and msi even has the balls to make it "oc"
unless you got nothing else
Well I know how to undervolt
AMD Radeon RX 9050 seems to be on a table Thus far, only RX 9060 XT rumors have any evidence. Yesterday, we learned that NVIDIA might be considering launching the GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card, an SKU class we have not seen in the GPU maker’s portfolio since the RTX 3050 series. The new card […]
pls be 75w
I’m more comfortable with the Msi afterburner undervolt a than I am with adrenaline
Please be a good price
$150 guess
Uhhh.. me
Never undervolted with AMD before
If it beats the rx6600 I’m happy
Easy
i know one person who uses adrenaline to oc or uv
Ik that now
I just did it yesterday. $6:( lower
Me??

But uh yeah yall think I should just wait and test the cards see which one I like more?
I got it to run 150w
But can’t find a stable clock speed and vram speed to use that 150w
I’m not against paying more for a fat premium model
But if I can tune it to be what I’m comfy with
I prefer oversized coolers for my devices
I prefer overkill as well
Oversized cpu cooler yes, 3 slot gpu cooler for a gpu that can be 2 slot, yes please
The ventus is hotter but it’s like 70c core and 80c memory
It’s nothing crazy
It’s just the other model is 55c core and like 60c mem
I mean with the bundle it was me saving 100 bucks over the xtx and I get a decent psu as a spare
But now the ventus is straight up like $240 dollars cheaper than the xtx
was the cheap good argb like the ct120argb? or what is a decent cheap argb fan
Thats the best way for AMD cards
MSI afterburner is pretty terrible
💀
that cant be real
Hmm I’m feeling nervous about the ventus now mostly because of Msi return policy
Hello all
in what way?
sometimes i regret not buying off amazon cus how easy it is to return things but majority of time when i contact a company and tell them i bought direct from them they seem to bend over backwards a lot more
newegg has been good on returns for me
Wegg return policy has no restocking fee and free labels iirc
Msi I have to read more but idk
third party sellers are the thing that will screw you over but thats not unique to newegg
Well it’s directly from Msi
i wouldnt be worried if its direct manufacturer honestly
i mean ud prolly have a wait game so get a back up
but they would probably fix it if it falls within the actual boundries of their policy.
Like I’m not super worried about like the rops issue I’m sure they’ll deal with that rma because it’s a defect
i actually have no idea i dont think ive ever dealt with msi now that i think about all my computer stuff
i heard a lot of intel horror stories about honoring the bios things but all those people didnt buy the cpu direct from an authorized retailer or w/e
But if I like tried to get it quiet and it’s just not meeting my reqs idk if they’ll be ok with that
ah yea, that could be ground for a restock fee
they prolly dont have the volume to be able to eat opened product without a loss which is sometimes acceptable but.... business and money 🤮
Like I still haven’t read deep enough about it
i just did the same thing with some security cameras
i should just chucked it off a big reseller but i like supporting the companies directly
I mean realistically I could just sell it afterwards if they wanna charge a fee
But Florida is full of crazies
it isn't
and it isnt even ai, just a bad photo meme and i still can almost belive they would

"the floating point 5-p integer calculation on the 5050 is the same as the 4090 so yea" ive seen so much dumb word trickery 🤦
a 400$ 4080 would be
thats an interesting speed test if its trying to look at what im thinking it is
well nothing u cant already get but
i get sold on nice looking things easily
Huh
so it turns out
if I get the 9070 XT
I can use my iGPU to power my sensorpanel
ooooo
ive never done a sensor panel but i would just put a tablet or phone on the case somehow
the issue is that to use the iGP in the 9800X3D for the sensorpanel is that I'd need Radeon drivers more than likely
i think i was trying to do something similar with my old 2080ti/9900k set up where i wanted the igpu to drive certain things and the rtx to do other things
it was always finnicky and i had to reset it for different inputs
seamless would be nice, i feel like i saw something where it does kinda do that with the bios/gpu, isnt that what optimus was trying to do?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_Optimus yea except for laptops
honestly id rather use all the die space on the cpu for processing, but having the ability to troubleshoot a system without a dedicated gpu is invaluable imo
TBF I'd rather not use up the one HDMI for the sensorpanel
I wish all CPUs had decent GPUs (so basically like any Ryzen G-series) and then every piece of software they had hardware acceleration would just let you set it to the CPU's iGPU
DP-to-HDMI exists
(Just not the other way around)
ive seen some jank video inputs hardwired into things not made for video if it comes down to it but the wonders of a usb-c interface 🤤
For small resolutions (like 1080p at the highest iirc) unless it's an active adapter*
Buy a gt710 for the sensor panel frfr
Make sure your system supports it. My Z790 with a 13700K didn’t support Thunderbolt
i feel like calling this a sensor panel might be disengenious if its just an lcd/led screen ur powering, or is it some integrated?
I mean fair... That way I can use 2 DP for the main monitors
Adapter for the sensorpanel
And HDMI to the TV
It's a 7" screen intended to have a sensorpanel displayed on it
👍 makes more sense then yea
Likely gonna mount it under my main display with a 3d printed bracket that connects to the VESA mount of the arm
It'd be nice and integrated that way
Looks cleaner, leaves me all my desk space
going to flush mount it into cabinetry or something? i feel like a bare bone 7' android tablet would do the thing better
Yeah that’s sort of what I did. Only I just used a 3D printed mount. A little jank but it worked until I decided to take it out
then all u need is a usb port
Those are expensive
u can get em like 10 bucks off ali
While this thing is cheap as chips
Even better if you can find a way to take the battery out and it function from the PC's power (turning on and off from the PC as well)
+80 bucks shipping and duties lol
oof
Cuz customs is a heck
But ye
It's a simpler solution for me
Y'know
It's that Jonsbo one that they also put into the D41
*onto
i just put my sensors on my monitors usually
Can't recall the proper name but it's that
Ye that one
Again, mounting it to the arm under the main display would be pretty clean
that looks nice in white
I'm still firmly convinced getting anything white for gamers is ill-advised
Unless there's not much of a white tax on the product
i want to get.... this.. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/silverstone-rm42-502/
The spotlight for goons
I need a rack
and i love handles 🤤
I need a SFF with a handle fr
i was eye balling one sff.... i was going to do an amd build before some stuff happened
Those are normally way cheaper
yea it was like 230 during xmas
could wrap some handles on that one easy though
Huh that looks kinda neat ngl not big on screens as a design aspect but even i gotta admit that looks cool
but case with them integrated is better
Yeah I need a light order of 999 of these
Whats the name of that case?
NR200P
Atx or nah?
the nr200 is that newegg one
mITX
There’s a micro itx?!?
Hm

It's a SFF case
It portable
Need a small GPU though
Didn’t notice my typo lol
I hate typing with one hand but my dog walked up to me lol
would be nice if gpu manus would go wide on boards for itx cases sometimes
ive seen a few but rare
mostly the cooling anyway
4070supers (cept two asus ones and a couple gigabyte ones) and 7800xts would prolly fit ngl
Like as wide as an mITX motherboard is tall for vertically mounting the GPU in a sandwich-style case
oh that case is not ideal for gpus: Graphics card support Max. 215mm
For sure if small enough. I think it's hard to even fit a normal two-fan GPU in that thing
The NR200P can probably fit my TUF 6800 XT though (with an SFX PSU*)
Oh 💀
it wouldve fit my 3080ti
CH160
I'm personally gonna go with a 2000D
And an Asrock mobo
Keep the option for 9800X3D open for later
ill prolly stick with fractal, i always memed them but they are very quality on their upper tier offerings
I need slightly bigger though for my TUF 6800 XT (like maybe a three-slot case)
Though I will admit that the 14700K is still quite tempting
It'd work really well for a streamer PC
Then again
AM5 is just overpowered rn
ima get some am5 soon 😄
You won't have a need for a CPU-streaming PC if you get an RX 6000-series or pretty much any Nvidia GPU from 2000-series and onward
I personally love the 14700K
But it's hard to justify it
Just use AMD's AMF or Nvidia's NVENC
Especially when the 3D-Vcache is so good for games I actually play a lot
Like PDX games love the cache
So it's actively hard to justify the 700K
stream set ups can vary so randomly
Any PC setup can vary so randomly
X3D kinda shot Intel in the foot
yep
Anyhow
The point is that I wanna make it cost-effective
I don't have thousands of dollars to blow on it
And frankly, AM5 is probably the socket to be on
VCE, nvenc, qsv, media engine
ur trying to start streaming? or just enhancing the setup?
Intending to start vtubing
Tho that being said
I dunno if anyone would wanna watch lol
Yeah the videos I record with my 6600 are pretty nice
if i was going to vtube rn id get some iphone/apple and use that for ur camera, they got some nice tracking tech for cheap
easy to integrate without utilizing resources of ur current system
Considering your tech knowledge level, you'll probably be able to use an old PC for a dual PC streaming setup
More complicated to setup but better performance
you should not do a single system set up for streaming if u want it to be any level of serious
for multiple reasons, is it possible? yes. but dont. no.
Best I can try is like using a laptop for a capture PC
Well
Not really
Most larger streamers (especially with their paltry tech knowledge) don't use dual PC stream setups anymore
Yeah that's a hard no
Ain't buying anything Apple
they also have teams
thats a whole other ball game
Both on principle and in ecosystem
"old" and "iPhone 15" do not belong in the same sentence
Ye that too
it integrates with facial tracking vtube stuff really well
beyond discussing using it for a vtube camera im not harping it
I believe it was iPhone x that was the first with faceid
if u want the cheapest entry into vtubing, just get a iphone
I can use a fairly standard webcam methinks
iPhone would have the best facial tracking quality
you can but
If it's Windows Hello compatible it can definitely capture facials
It's got the IR element to it
i dunno im not a vtuber
Nah it's doable in 2025. This is what most streamers do now lol
I don't need it to be optimal I just need to get started
it is, its always been doable, u want ur chat on a different place trust
Single PC streaming has been doable for like the last half decade at least
Dual PC is just wasting money at this point
Not really
Hardware got where it's negligible or no perf impact
if u intend to make money off it
It's just more complex to setup
