A huge majority of AI stuff is either optimized to run in 24GB, or needs well over 36GB. So while the 5090 has 32GB, I cannot think of a SINGLE thing extra it can run over a 24GB card

Like, I had 32GB withmy 3060ti and 3090 for over 6 months, and I could barely do anything else with it. Now that I have a 16GB 3060ti and my 3090, I have 40GB VRAM, and I can do insanely cool new things that 32GB is just not enough for

My job is in analyzing and optiming generation techniques to not step on the toes of real artists, and also supporting my artist friends

My 3 best friends are all commissions artists who rely on coms to eat and live. Trust me, I hate this BS just as much as anybody else

Its one thing to generate AI references in a specific pose or lighting to reference for a piece you are doing, cause thats a more accurate ref than what you might be able to find, but its another to scam people and pass off something you didn't make as your own.

AI is a tool, not a means to a product, and its gross that some people feel otherwise

If I remember properly, they reported a 30% reduction in wasted funds, and a 40% customer satisfaction increase for the ads, or something. It was a while ago lol

I could connect the other monitors to my dgpu just wanted to see if I could figure out the driver issue first

overhead from just connecting displays is negligible but I like having animated wallpaper engine stuff on those monitors sometimes so it's nice to offload that to igpu

amd had issues with it as recently as rx 7000 but I think they improved that with driver updates

where 144hz + 60hz would result in like 100w idle power on 7900xtx

but 120hz + 60hz would be 20w idle power

I never knew this, but all of the gaming cards including the 4090 are all codenamed GB2×× instead of GB1×× because all the GB2×× are used for the data center AI cards. Lame.
