We have nowhere near enough VRAM

Its not speed. The 5090 can already generate 8x faster than people can read. But it can't generate with hardly any better model than a 3090 or 4090

So in order to get better results, you need more memory, which uses CPU, at which point the speed of that 5090 becomes 100% completely worthless

It works like this:

Both GPU's get their "layers" of the model. They solve their numbers, then just send the tiny packets with the final numbers to each other. Its not like its streaming massive amounts of info between

they are doing their local calcs, then passing the results through PCIe. Thats why I said I don't need much faster at all

Also, very fun fact. If you can load all of the model in the VRAM of a GPU, even on a super slow connection like PCIE 1x gen3, it will not slow down at all. It will gen at the same speed as if its on gen 5 x16
