I’m not to keen ok shooter games rn
Had my fill with cyberpunk
FO4 ftw
FO4 isnt for everyone
the story's not really that great if i'm being perfectly honest
New Vegas with 1k mods
-# New Vegas still runs like trash even with optimization mods
"light" FO4 modding
Not that i kinda want a game with melee combat or auto targeting to play with a controller mostly cuz i found that to be pretty relaxing
Speaking of optimisation mods why do people use them for minecraft and call it “demanding” it runs at 500 fps if you have like a 1050 or 960
Nier frfr
you can just abuse Fallout's VATS and play that way
I guess it’s optimized for lower core count CPU’s
FO4 has melee & auto targeting lol
It's not that it's optimized for low core count, it's a primarily single threaded game with only a little bit of multithreading
Turn based… i gotta read altho in a lot of true rpgs reading is prolly gonna be present
I don't really use the former & never use the latter but it's there lol
i don't know who the hell baldur is and why he has a gate....three times
just destroy the damn gate just saying
Minecraft could be used to "stress test" single threaded in a way
Idk then, it runs decently even on like a pentium potato pc
I guess people have really bloated pcs
it's more of a CPU bound game i think
Yeah Minecraft vanilla isn't exactly demanding
It could get somewhat demanding after putting some shaders on
amplified worlds on java used to be the bane of my existence
Ye some people have skill issue that complain about vanilla minecraft fps
It’s like almost 1k fps for me
TBF
If they grabbed a few optimization mods for Minecraft, it would probably jump up in fps
Apparently a 27inch 4k 240hz monitor was released
But honestly most systems should be able to run Minecraft at playable frames
Ppi is gonna be insane
considering this is Mojang we're talking about they will never do this
they aren't going to pull a Valve
He means like otptifine
Which u don’t even need tbh
Honestly, I suspect their complaints are mainly due to frame drops, which could be solved if they just capped their fps
But can even a 4090 drive popular games with high fidelity to above 100 frames at 4k
I know what he meant
and I'm saying that if they did it, it'd be welcome
but they will never do it
my 4090 gets wrecked by Indiana Jones maxed out with path tracing at 4k
Bingo
4090ti when
Isn’t path tracing… still experimental
Optifine is kinda outdated now (not in terms of Minecraft versions, but sodium works better
it'll run at like 70fps ish
Ah
I always just use Optifine because OG
pathtracing in CyberPunk is like 23fps lol
Damn upscaled?
I haven’t played it in a while tbf. I haven’t used performance mods since I stopped using the pentium pc and upgraded
I'm NGL I don't like optifine purely because of the ads they force on you to download, which are often malware or scams
they do that with Forge too
True
but I block all the ads so I don't care
Fair bit of modders have switched and/or added support to fabric
Unless a mod dev chooses to rewrite their mod to work with Fabric I'm not going to use them
but all of the good stuff is just on Forge so
If you play on older versions, then it would make sense to stick with forge since alot of classic mods have not been updated since 1.12.2 or even 1.7.4
In terms of modern Minecraft modding though, I'd rather stick with fabric now tbh
Advanced Rocketry my beloved
why does it do this to me gosh darn it
quick question unrelated to all this
is Black Desert showing as free-to-keep for the rest of you? i'm about to post it in the tech-deals
I think black desert switched to free to play a few months ago
i mean, when i looked at it, it showed free to play with a time limit for the deal so unsure
Hmm
Super sharp
Super aliased
Unless you mean over sharpened
Which then, yes, it is
I took a picture with my phone so it's kinda like a picture of a picture
Hall of fame 4090?
yes
I should have played with settings more
I haven't played the game more than like 30 minutes yet
Ah…I’m a few hours in. Great great game
Just like the movies that I’ve watched dozens of times
I hope you didn't debloat Windows too far to the point where Win+Shift+S no longer functions
lol no it works
but sending the picture directly didn't
so I had to screensnip or whatever
odd
so a screen snip of a picture of the picture on the screen
might lose some fidelity in that transaction
rich
I have one actually. 50 series GPU is the last piece of the puzzle
No
Stock tdp is around 120
Pbo is 160
Source: My one
7800X3D is 88-92 yes
Flipped vcache is a whole new ball game for power
sheesh
i debloated windows so much that i deleted system 32
been looking at milwaukee compact impacts since they would be handy especially for tight spaces, but just to get into the ecosystem, it would be like $500 cad lol
cant have bloatware if you dont have a system
$300 for the impact, $200 for a battery and charger
(yes there are technically knockoff batteries but you get what you pay for; they're all anywhere from being a fire hazard to being "safe" but have a considerably smaller capacity)
6969.420 up 🧐
hey look no mods here
Nope
darn
you go back to where you started when you use shaders pretty much
I hate directories with a lot of nexted folders
I had started this probably 10hrs ago
Teracopy
it's a good time to do something else you like
like watch breaking bad
some anime if you watch anime (never seen any anime)
dallas pays 20000 a month for wifi
My email from Newegg says it’s should be here from January 3-9 but when I click tracking it says 15-17
no idea
it's been like this for weeks
haven't bothered to fix it until now
so heres the thing
mechanism
Fumo Friday
Guys
My housemate keeps blocking my ps5 on the wifi
Is it okay to just packet request the router
if you mean what I think you do then you have some issues to work out with the housemate. This isn't a tech problem.
That's a person problem
Nvidia is gonna hit a limit sooner or later
smack right up against it as hard as Pentium 4 did
White Strix 5090 wen
OnePlus is out here trying to make the lock screen as easy to quickly read as possible. Based.
@grand kernel have to tip my hat to you btw
Your psu cable made me figure out the same problem on one of my own rigs
I never put two and two together
So that whole thing got me thinking, I went off, swapped the cables on mine, made a huge improvement so far
Wouldn't have realised it if your 13700K didn't unalive itself
Lol
its death was not in vain
got snow last night
roads here are covered in salt with nothing else so just drove on salt, literally
cronch
Collect and get a salt monopoly
What do you guys think the odds of me being able to snag a 5090 on release week? I keep going back and forth as to whether or not I should just pick up a 4090 or try to time the release of the 5090.
The 32gb vram would be a really nice thing to have.
well the 4090 on launch sold out within hours and on a lot of sites within minutes
but at this price point im not sure how much thatll be the case even for desperate scalpers
i would honestly just try and grab a 4090 for msrp now while you can and before any potential tariffs take effect
depending on what youre doing a 7900xtx would be way more than competant for a lot of use cases at a better price
there is a LOT of overpricing rn for the 4090 so
im too lazy too look for deals but this is pretty cheap compared to a lot of 4090s on the market rn lol
Not happening
I'm looking to build something thats the fastest, probably 128gb/256gb ram, I haven't even really looked at CPUs yet.
Why's that?
Are there any vendors that will have a larger supply?
Or do all the vendors get generally the same stock
How scammed do you want to be? Because the fastest is pretty much never worth it, since its wildly overpriced and will become midrange a couple or so years down the line lol
What do you use your pc for?
If youre gaming that extra vram does nothing for you
Even at 4k
Same thing with regular ram
If youre gaming there is zero point going for nvidia here
My 1080ti/Threadripper was the fastest I could buy and it's held up extremely well in the timeframe

1080ti was an actual competent product
Lidar processing
An argument could be made for dual 4080s
^
And warthunder
No point even mentioning war thunder lol if anything itll be the bottleneck
You will be competing against bots and hundreds of thousands of buyers. The website that you're ordering from may crash from all the traffic.
Not to mention i wouldnt doubt theres gonna be some artificial scarcity
I'm curious if 4090s will also be in short supply when the 5090 rolls out
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, 2 x GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, Fractal Design Pop XL Air ATX Full Tower
They alr are
They should be $1600
I cant imagine there would be too many people upgrading from a 4090 to a 5090
The cheapest is currently $2700
I see a ton of pre built computers on marketplace with 4090s for under 3k total
How much money are you working with out of curiousity
Because this is mostly value for money
1950x, it's a little dated but was an absolute beast at the time and still handles most workloads fine, I'm just bottlenecked by 64gb of ram
Idk, under $7k
I already have a case
And monitors
And peripherals
Check this out, although I'm not quite sure you need that much ram and cpu performance after hearing this lol
.
7950x is almost the same cpu for a good bit cheaper, and 4 sticks of ddr5 hurts performance more than helps unless you actually need that much ram
I'd probably start with one kit of ram, and add another down the line if you need more
I'm already almost immediately bottlenecked by the 11gb of vram on the 1080ti for all workloads I do
So I'm not sure 16 is enough
Id research if your tasks work well with two gpus
If so, two 4080s at $1000 should be better than a 5090 at $2500
Or whatever ridiculous price they're saying
I can parallelize some things but honestly I'd like to get a workstation card in addition to a 5090. That way I can use the 5090 for training and the workstation card for inference
Hm alright
I will say this is an insane jump from a 1080ti
Even stepping back to 3000 series would be a big jump
I'm just saying it sounds like you're underestimating how big of a jump this is already going to be, but its your build bot mine
Yea, I don't want to upgrade for a while and it'd be nice to give my existing PC to my GF so she can play Sims or whatever
1080 ti to 4090 is already like an 80% performance increase lol
I get it, it's not the best value for the money, but realistically if I'm only throwing away maybe 2k max over a few years, I don't see the problem
And it functions as a space heater while I queue compute tasks
My broke ass cryin in the corner
I'm not saying it's a problem, but you can just accomplish the same thing for less. Its not my money, you do you
Maybe. Or if I can find 2 4090s. My only hesitation is that not all workloads can be run parallel
Oh 100%, it depends on your specific use case
I work as a software engineer so that's my excuse.
Lol fair
Even though it'll be mostly gaming
Id start with something like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JfFmC8
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, Fractal Design Pop XL Air ATX Full Tower
What's the fastest cpu
Depends
Can always add ram and more storage if needed
Or 90th percentile value pick
So
For gaming 9800x3d
Thats a loaded question
For workloads thats different
There's thread rippers, EPYC cpus, intel xeon (imo don't consider this or epyc) and then regular intel/ryzen cpus
Id say the choice should be between 7000 series thread rippers, 9950x, and maybe 14900k
I don't necessarily need server grade. I hadn't heard anything spectacular in regards to newer AMD stuff
7000 series thread rippers would be what i lean toward
14900k with the fixed power limits is worse than the 9950x for multi core and single core
Intel had issues with 13th/14th gen with mobos feeding cpus too much voltage, which had the 13th/14th gen i9s trading blows with 7950x/9950x
With fixed power limits 9950x is the clear winner, it also runs cooler and at a much lower wattage
Unless you're doing any video editing, I personally wouldn't bother with high end intel atm
So let's call it
$650 CPU
$2500 GPU
$700 MOBO
$400 RAM
$200 PSU
That doesn't seem particularly unreasonable
Me when i get 16 cores to disable half of them
Yes it does, a $200 mobo and $700 mobo do the same thing
Didn't price our mobo but I did roughly price out 128gb ram
Again your money you do you
You dont need us to tell you what to do lol
Yea, I'm just running it though my head
Buy a diamond ornamented 4090 if you lean that way
I really want a 5090 but I'm not sure I'll get lucky
A 2x48gb kit would be a better choice imo, and you could add another 2x48 kit later if you need more ram. With ddr5 you lose performance/speed with four sticks of ram, especially with such a high capacity
True, that's a good point
The thing is a 5090 isnt even anything special compared to what you can get now
The absolute, absolute most I'd even consider on a mobo is $300-400, and even that's way overpriced
I didn't see any 48gb >6000mhz
Check this list right here
6000c32/6000c30/6400c32 is what you want
Perfect. I was just sorting on user bench
`UserBenchmark is NOT a reliable source of information and has been blanket banned in many hardware communities such as r/hardware and r/intel for what started as an anti-AMD bias but has spiraled into delusion.
In fact, they tried so hard to skew results in favor of Intel's midrange that they even cannibalized Intel's own high end. For example, according to UserBenchmark, the i3-9350K is rated higher than the i9-10980XE.
For a similarly convenient quick-and-dirty hardware comparison website, we recommend using PassMark instead of UserBenchmark.
PassMark CPU comparison: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleCompare.php
PassMark GPU comparison: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/singleCompare.php

Dont touch ubm
Lol
They are laughably biased to the point the intel subreddit banned them
I forgot we had that
That's good to know
Why google still has them as the top result is beyond me
I fell into the same trap a couple years ago lol
I thought my friends 2700x was better than my 3600 bc of ubm lol
Thankfully i saw the outlandish slander too quickly
As in them clearly showing biased results
What's super weird is they don't base their performance comparisons on just performance
But yea, I was looking to combine open street map with NeRFs to make essentially the poor mans version of Google Earth and then integrating some lidar mapping data of facilities within those areas.
They factor in age of cpu, power, efficiency, number of cores instead of just multi core performance, and more
I had also played around with using thermal cameras to make NeRFs
If i recall at one point a 2nd gen i3 was higher on their performance charts than a 5000 series ryzen
Yea, also CPU architectures are kinda comparing apples to pears
Fps is all that matters
Mmhhmmmmmm
And price ofc
nah i need my pc to be at least 50% rgb
because thats what really boosts performance

Ofc ofc
Every gen has a new DlSS that the previous gens will not support
Is that 1700 euros?
💀
new member of stock cable gang?
they were just predicting intel 13th-14th gen where age of cpu is the most important thing that determines its performance
💀
is 5090 out yet
Repinned a new custom one
Or two actually
ah
I had spare cables but not all in the right colour so I got creative lmao
I might just be done with custom cables the stock cables lowkey looking fine
it's nice to have one less failure point
I'm glad this cable at least didn't fail as catastrophically as the previous one lmao
I use mainly cable replacements now but my older pc's still have extensions
idr if you remember the previous one was hitting 9V on the 12V rail and actually had some of the connector melt
It taught me that the voltage readouts for 12 3.3 and 5 can tell you if you have potential issues
yeah
Like my 12v was running 11.6, now 12
I just wasn't seeing it bc I was 400 miles away at the time
It really taught me a lot lol
11.6 is still within spec but it's sus zone
my 5v was dropping way below spec
now imagine 9V lmao
Lol
Soon .........
this cable had issues on 3.3V and 5V but 12V was fine
I was getting whea errors LOL
interesting
mine manifested as my drives blowing up
I remember starting cyberpunk with hwinfo open and seeing 5V rail drop to 4.58V
and I saw explorer.exe crash and then spam 1000 errors that it failed to restart
and dwm was showing visual artifacts
then quickly got a storage related bsod
3.3V rail was also out of spec at 3.1V
but 12V rail was still in spec at 11.8V
for the other cable 5V and 3.3V were fine but 12V was bad
the melted pin was one of the 12V pins unsurprisingly
but yeah no physical damage on this cable, looks perfect from the outside
I suspect 5V and 3.3V rails don't draw enough amps to cause melting
whats the right channel to troubleshoot game performance
bro
game performance? probably just here
a number of hardware or software issues could cause lower than expected game performance
well im playing hell let loose rn and for some reason both my cpu and gpu util is at 80% while my fps is just around 70, with no cap in settings

no cap?
Apparently, arc b580 sucks on older CPUs. But that cpu he tested was an i5 9th gen
🗿
He also claimed that rebar was enabled
np fps cap
check my ps5
Pretty sure rebar is a motherboard feature not CPU as you can mod it on much older mobos
As long as that mobo supports UEFI
you are probably cpu bottlenecked
cpu usage doesn't have to hit 100% for a cpu bottleneck to be happening
80% is abnormally high for games
games don't tend to scale perfectly with multiple cores
you can even have a cpu bottleneck with 20% cpu usage
check the per-core usage to get a better idea
what's your cpu and gpu?
def not cpu bottleneck, r5 5600x rx 6600
I mean it could be a cpu bottleneck in some situations
especially if you have a lot of bloatware running in the background
or the game is very cpu heavy/very graphically light
5600x/rx 6600 generally wouldn't be cpu bottlenecked but it's not impossible
almost clean install, also its 80% cpu when im in a lobby of 100 people and such, i tried in an empty game and my fps is still kinda low with gpu at 75% and cpu at 40%
cpu at 40% can still be a cpu bottleneck
the requirements for the game is a 1070 and i5 7600, its graphics heavy
if the game is being bottlenecked by something occurring on a single core that doesn't parallelize
just check your per core cpu usage
would this also happen if it was a ram being full issue?
its 2x8 2666 mhz (yes slow i know) and it sits at 15 gb usage constantly
yeah that could definitely be the problem
2666 is probably gimping your 5600x to be slower than a 3600 in some cases
and you're sitting at basically full ram
Sounds like bloated windows
32gb 3600 would be best but 3200 is fine, could also try to overclock a 3200 kit to 3600-3800
I'm dailying a 3200 kit at 4200 rn
I would know. Got a laptop with 16gb ram and just on the Home Screen it uses like 9gb ram on idle
wouldn't count on an overclock but it is possible
i've had these sticks since they were 80$ lol, probably the only part i haven't changed in years
overclock would be fine if it was 32gb 2666 but it's 16gb so meh
Worth a try
almost clean
True
clean or debloated clean
I got my idle ram usage down to 1.3gb/32gb with a heavily debloated os
I held out on 16gb for a while, debloating helped a lot
Windows 11?
what would you consider bloatware nowadays? its almost impossible to get a fully clean windows without disabling a lot of stuff, i just did it with a clean uupdump and rufus with world region setting
"clean" windows is pretty bloated
yeah
Ye that’s the first issue
You gotta disable a lot of background apps, services etc to get it down
look into chris titus windows utility, it's all you need these days for debloating
Like windows 8 stock for some reason feels way more responsive than my windows 10 “tweaked” os
if you can reclaim 2-3gb ram that'll help with only having 16gb
maybe long enough to do a full platform upgrade instead of spending money on new ddr4
what would be good ram usage in idle for a debloated windows?
U can get 32gb for like 40 bucks now
out of 16gb? probably around 1gb
it'll be a bit higher the more ram you have cause windows will be less conservative with it
yeah i really should upgrade, but if i were to get like 2x8 sticks 3600 would it be worth keeping my original sticks for 32 gb at 2666 or have 16 gb at 3600
Just get 32gb 3600
never worth it to buy 16gb in 2025
Just in case
There’s like 1 or 2 cases where I can why someone would
Bdie’s expensive
I mean
if you're buying for the purpose of overclocking only then sure
buying 16gb b-die for actual use would be a terrible idea
A lot of xoc guys run it as their daily
And sr can get u slightly more frequency iirc
32gb of garbage ddr4 would generally be a better daily than 16gb b-die lol
but is there no advantage of having 4x8 compared to 2x16? i dont know much about ram configuration
Some have really expensive ram kits, like galax or that 4400c14 stuff from whatever brand
doesn't really matter when you can get the benefits of dr while running up against imc limits
you could have 8000c1 if it's not enough it's not enough
as soon as you hit swap space your performance is cooked
Yeah I guess they don’t play many ram intensive games
even swapping on a gen 5 nvme would be brutally slow compared to garbage ddr4-2133
it depends on the board topology
I think my board’s supposed to work with 4 sticks better too
4x8 is worse than 2x16 on the majority of boards
btw it says the r5 5600x is only rated for 3200, although i know people run higher frequencies than that, does it not affect stability or are there any side effects
That’s like the minimum guaranteed
ah i see
You can run up to like 4000 1:1 if you have a good bin
ddr4-3200 is the minimum spec where even if you run a garbage motherboard your cpu is defective if it won't run 3200
worth noting that minimum spec is 3200 for 2x SR specifically and goes as low as 2666 for higher configurations I believe
The early am4 boards were weird. I know someone who’s 1700x would only work at 3200+ on a specific board with specific ram
but minimum spec doesn't really matter
you should be able to run 3600 on any 5600x unless the board is the limiting factor
heck, I was able to run ddr4-3600 on a 5600x with a $20 first gen b350 board
but that 5600x was capable of running 4800 on a better board
nah the board is def good, but i just asked a friend and he has spare 2x8 3200 sticks, should i be running 32gb on 2666 or have just the new sticks
well yeah i could but if i just borrow ram for free until i upgrade im asking what the best config is
better than 32 gb?
if it's free you might as well try it
but you'll probably be running mixed dies
so even 2666 isn't guaranteed to be stable
just try it
if you can run 32gb 2666 stable for free that's probably better than spending money on ddr4
they're both kingston fury, does it being a difference frequency automatically mean mixed dies?
you can even get different dies in the exact same model number
with low end ram
they use whatever they have that hits the advertised spec and they advertise that spec for the kit as-is only
3200 16-19-19-39 could be one of like 20 different dies lol
lol corsair even puts mixed dies in the same package
my friend had a 2666 corsair kit with mixed dies
4x4gb mixed dies
truly the bottom of the barrel
don't worry it's corsair vengeance so it's premium
if i wanted to overclock my current ram is there any chance i can get it to 3200? or what are the variables that changes the chances i have at a stable overclock
lol at least it wasn't rgb pro
yeah most ddr4 can oc to 3200
not all
but you could try
just be warned that ram overclocking has higher risks than cpu/gpu overclocking
do i just set it in bios or do i need extra steps
follow a ram overclocking guide and do it properly
oh that's cute you think corsair bins their ram
and by risks do you mean frying the ram or just instability?
both + could corrupt your OS/files
Corsair is like the antichrist when it comes to binning
Haha you thought
meh thats fine the ram is probably like 15$ now lol
ehh the higher end dom plats yeah but there's also low end dom plats lol
could also fry your cpu's imc if you don't know what you're doing with vsoc
Oh you mean like the $600
unlikely at 3200 but still a possibility
the classic trap of expensive must mean good
That's not even a random number btw
And the most annoying
They put voltage locks on the pmics to prevent you overclocking
paying more for products that are worse than the competition
Corsair is the ONLY brand to do this
that's the corsair way
why wouldn't it be legal
they advertise a spec lower than the lock point
Less issues from bad bins cos no voltage messing
Meaning more bad bins
Meaning the CYCLE INTENSIFIES

as long as they meet advertised spec no legal issue
now uhh
corsair actually meeting advertised spec is not a guarantee
Not all, there are certain skus and I see them pop up every so often
Last I saw someone mention one was in december
No
I love the Chinese
don't tell me they lock the dom plats lol
They use the same sticks in all ram just different covers
I couldn't tell you if it's in doms but I would be surprised if it wasn't, they all take from the same bin pool
ah small indie company can't afford more than one pcb
They have titanium now too
The SSR gacha of the pc industry
Spend even more on Doms, still get Samsung C
yo guys check out my fire system I got i3 with intel hd graphics, nzxt cooler with a screen, corsair vengeance rgb pro, nzxt h510 elite 🔥
1 in 100 chance of high end sticks
high end bruh
Sign up now
I've seen this in the corsair server except with an o11
idk what the power supply is I filtered by cheapest
couldn't afford graphics card yet in my budget needed the $300 cooler
I'll upgrade later
And they put like a model car on the top with one of those square bases? So the aio up top was cut off from exhausting
That’s what as friend of mine did. He just said as long as it works he doesn’t care
Like completely choked
Wait until a year from now when he says he needs to upgrade because it doesn't work
throwback to when one of my customers told me they'd rather have rgb than a graphics card
I'll never get it
when the 3200g/3400g were out of stock everywhere and the best integrated graphics they could get was intel uhd 630 in an i3-10100
You lose so much sometimes for brand paying
with ddr4-2666
I recall they said something like
it's not a gamer pc if it doesn't look like a gamer pc
This is over the line into lost IQ territory tbh
Games play at 6fps but at least it rainbows
apparently they were very happy with it
playing minecraft at 720p 30 fps no texture pack on a 4k tv
lol
think that makes it a bad psu
I mean... yeah they probably are
f tier isn't a joke there's documented cases of f tier evga 700w causing house fires
even in a budget build never cheap out on the psu
I have a great illustration of gamemax hold on

Today we're "reviewing" the GameMAX "Hype," which DEFINITELY ISN'T inspired by a Hyte Y60. The Hype case is anywhere from $100 to $200, depending on where and when you look, and has poorly copied nearly every aspect of the Hyte Y60. We haven't seen a ripoff this egregious pre...
squeezing a bit more fps out of your budget is not worth potentially playing with your life and the lives of your family
yes, they can legitimately catch fire
It's more like you couldn't say if they would do anything because retail units are completely different to pre-tested cherry picking
@mortal grail https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007871648778.html $1 ram
and he didn't learn from that

btw felix
Shows 10 for me
vetroo offered me a replacement I'm wondering if it's worth it my pc is stable now but voltages are still below nominal
within spec but below nominal
Insane W
Wtf
Yes
12V and 3.3V rail are perfect but 5V still drops down to 4.94V sometimes
i'm wondering cause i would have to pay for shipping and also go through the hassle of redoing all that cable management lol
I have to link this part in particular lmfao

well their message is kind of unclear
am i paying for shipping for the new one and keeping my old one? or am i paying to ship back my old one
Basically the only thing they do that's decent is the spark and the M40 (On low end)
i kinda feel like im ripping them off if im keeping both
I would still claim it and send the old one tbh
Be a G, you got it for free lol
im just wondering if the 5V rail values are a sign that it's worth replacing
like will it get worse over time
You can use it in a new build
cause 4.92 is not a problem now but i would not like it to fall further
It's the GV right
yeah
GV1000
That moment when NFS heat shows my 13600k bottlenecking the GPU at 1440p ultra
Cpu: around 55%
Gpu: can't hit 99-100% but lingers around the 80s
That's a solid psu
white GV1000
It's worth keeping
Ah yes good virtue 1000
idk if my current psu is fine id just rather not take another one from them
id feel bad about it lol
Oh, well then yeah don't send it back then lol
pc is perfectly stable im just wondering if i should worry about the 5V rail long term
Go hassle lian li instead for a new strimer
if it can drop to 4.92 under load
the strimer is way out of warranty, they won't send a new one
Ur psu failing or is your motherboard having trouble keeping those voltages?
(Strimers are known for drooping btw, I did some snooping)
over 3 years old and the warranty is 1 year
Ripw
Yeah alr I wouldn't swap them, just tell them it was the strimer
my strimer was drooping too much on the 5V rail
no, brand new is 1 year warranty
Wtf
even if i have the opportunity to get another psu for almost free i don't wanna be greedy if there's no reason to be concerned about what i have
Doesn't sound good
this psu is only 1 year old
Mb I thought you bought a new one
Yeah don't bother vetroo
i was seeing as low as 4.58V on the 5V rail and it was killing my SSDs
But that's a massive W that they accepted it
yeah ive had nothing but good experiences with them so i dont wanna take advantage of them
Seriously why is your machine trying to fail?
He's an arch user
Lmfao
stock cable gang
^^^
they look pretty good on the gv1000 anyway
Makes total sense
some psus do have hideous stock cables
but these are fine
those are also the cable ties that came with the psu
I'd take practicality (if that's the proper word) over aesthetics any day
the strimer was nice while it worked
but you're quite literally paying to add another failure point to your system
so meh
Lol
it was a real pain to diagnose
Speaking of failure point, is the dreaded ram oc adventure complete?
i didn't understand why i was getting storage related bsods but my ssds were reporting good health and passed every test
no
Gonna take 4200m/t years
i have a good enough daily profile so im not in a rush to improve it
@mortal grail
basically this is what im wondering about
That looks excellent
under heaviest load the 5v rail can sometimes hit 4.92
4.92 is well within spec just worried if it'll keep dropping over time
Me rn
yeah
my previous psus have maintained much closer to nominal voltage on every rail
i never ever see 5V on the 5V rail
this hwinfo has been open for 6 hours and idle for 4 of those
cause i had karhu running overnight and it errored and stopped
so even at idle the closest it gets is 4.98
Thing is the best case scanarios are at or above
im used to seeing a little above nominal at idle dropping to a little below under load
Being close is good
like 12.1v, 5.05v, 3.32v idle etc
in any case i guess i have many years left of warranty so i can just monitor it
Build Concepts? shrug
Device Concepts? I'm bored you talkin to me?
forgot this one... can't forget the mgx suspension
thanks
... i know that you can still register the gpu... but i think its based off it's original sale (i more than likely dont know)
i dont know if that was just an evga thing or not
you can also buy warrenties on amazon at the same time anyway for a specific price
insurance i mean
True but they kinda bag you on that
I was just wondering if stuff like rma is still there on those returns they resell
I can't even find info about it online
hmph...
There is a used like new g502x for $45
Honestly I shouldn't even care thats damn cheap
It says it will come in original packaging so I guess i will be able to if something were to happen a year from now
if it isnt already a year old, ya know? and even then u might get lucky if it busts you may still get service at a discount or something.. i think thats a thing idk... a mouse on the other hand is like... i feel like you'll know difference if it works in 30 days, vs just getting dust up underneath.... i replaced a deathadder cuz razor was the best in 2015... but like, i really expected something to be wrong with a triple click...
spent i think atleast 5 years on it at around 100-200hrs a year, idk if anybody cares.. but yeah
dont ever slam~ an iron claw... but man was that mouse amazing...
now im evga x17 and i can play cod on cross controller and it's ridiculously perfect lolololol aside from getting only 60fps @ 5720x1080
lol
that's what they're running now i think, atleast for football, it seems google cancled the idea of rotary camera seats as 1st classism or something lmao
Depends on the nature of the purchase
Case by case
If you buy something not slated for a warranty, depending on how it is sold, the device will come with guarantees upheld by country (or state) of sale
:chatting:
If it already has a sufficient warranty though then they often just opt to that
i.e "Not my problem" approach
This does come with of course the implications of a transferrable warranty or warranty taken on by the agent but it still applies
Used mouse is kind of ...sus
Some countries also have exceptions, like for example where I am we have a law called "Fit for purpose" which extends beyond a warranty
good morning !!!
Also basilisk v3 hyperspeed is better for less rn iirc
Goo mor

Welp
9800X3D is now officially stocked here in Hungary
For 345k HUF
855 dollars
Jeez
644 USD if I "preorder" it at Alza
which is basically just a number they throw out there and probably charge more when stock comes in
675 USD without tax normally
but taxes are insane here
so yeah
9800X3D might as well be made of unobtainum
a 7700X is literally a THIRD that
30% price for like 75% perf?
Sounds good to me
Im curious if itd be cheaper to head over to a country next to hungary for the x3d lmao
I pay like no attention to logitech anymore due to their switches lol
It's just scalped by the actual retailers, no need to wait for scalpers to get involved
G305 is solid tho
I dont know anything about mice
I'd unironically be cheaper to FLY TO AMERICA and buy one at a Micro Center methinks
Hi
Step 1, G305 is the only one that is truly competitive
Step 2, look anywhere else

it's like 200 bucks for me to fly to and from the US, another 100 to travel back and forth to a Micro Center
I wish america was that cheap for me
Hell I'd come out to about the same amount and have a nice adventure
And I can also like
Buy other parts and save more
It's like 2 grand for me to fly
lmao
From where?
Lol
I joined the cult of G305s, what wireless outside of that is a good choice tho?
That's even more expensive than flying from China lol
Legitimately I can pay an all expenses trip to America AND build a computer for the same amount of money it'd take me to build a computer with parts bought here
huh
Lol the 2nd longest flight in the world leaves Perth to London
Read chat for context
though I'm almost sure that customs would try to screw me if I did bring a rig home
Basilisk v3 hyperspeed
Razer Naga Pro V2
So are mice like razors only competent product
Keychron has a good one iirc
There's also op1 8k
Keychron op
Keychron makes more than keyboards?
Keychron m4?
Honestly makes sense tbh
stay at an AirBNB, order from Amazon, pick everything up and profit
Their naming scheme will never not suck tho lmao
It's got the best sensor and switches for the lowest price if it's still cheap
I use a M3 mini 4k lol
And a vacation in the midst
I can deadass save like 2 or 3 months wages doing that
I wish it had chronology tbh
They had me at odd numbers for low profile keyboards even number for regular
I'm partial to SS Apex Pro
Blackhole buy mine for 851
Only with keychron do you need a 30 minute long translation of a product

Lemok...
It's a deal
Actually no cpu manufacturers
AMD
I like amd's cpu name scheme
True but im also biased and keep tabs on their products so i know whats happening
I dont keep tabs on intel
any good cheap low profile keyboard right now ?
Odd numbers keychron
Keep ur ram down close ur tabs

There was a limited run one a few months ago that was incredible
under 100 ?
I uh
All sold out now so even if I remembered the name it's gone
Only 68 tabs leave me be
Wtf 1 too little
How do you have 68 things to remember
There

Read the blurb
I've been summoned
Tulsa King
No but like fr how do you remember 68 things
14 of them are cookie clicker
Bro we're supposed to be friends here cut me some slack
I'll warranty an 8
$851 cpu
I'm sure you can do 550
Tbh I kinda feel the cpu a bit mid
It's really powerful but like
7
It has really aggressive pbo behaviour
Yellow names
Like 60% cpu it's going the full 160W
Get back to work
I honestly doubt I'd notice much of anything in terms of difference vs a 7700X
Like yes I know the 9800X3D is powerful
I still don't think it'd make that much of a difference
One thing I've noticed is amd still haven't worked out that annoying little micro stutter
Sure if I was doing eSports at 1080p, maybe
It's not experience ruining
Technically if there was a build budget you'd notice the $300 or whatever cheaper GPU.
But I have a high end pc I shouldn't stutter ever
But at that point you don't build your own PCs, you get PCs as sponsorship
TBF I'd be going with 7900 XT or higher
If I was to build rn
Speaking from first hand experience, cart before the horse there
Mods won't like that btw. I'm not a mod and honestly idc. But just warning you lol
has anyone watched resident alien ?
Stronger GPU > OP CPU?
Or it kinda doesn't matter
Like I'm not getting the reference
PC before sponsor
Always happens before sponsor
Gaming PC before job
I meant to say that the CPU to be the thing making the difference you'd already need to buy a 4090 and have like a 500hz TN panel
I know I get it
Mountain bike before car that can hold mountain bike
Pizza oven before pizza
7 before 5
cereal before milk
Oh good he's sane
unless its your scond bowl.. then milk before cereal xD
y'all said good GPU > good CPU so I'm just stating stuff y'all would agree with
cereal before milk is crazy work
Oh good he's sane
insane* bro what are you saying 💀
Pick your CPU before the GPU bruh
Alr you're a lunatic
thanks for clarifying
:)
Milk before bowl
yeah the milk goes into the cereal box
*bag
Table*
I speedrun cereal eating
Why box that's just weird
table?
Bag can hold milk
Table can also hold milk
Yeah get one of those anti spill tables
Bags to hold liquids is nuts
They hold milk
There's a dn joke in here somewhere
Btw balou went very quiet
💀
I would say it but I would be kicked fs
Gonna see chat in a while "I got a warning" lmao
I have no actual idea what's happening but I am sure it's happening
Lpl
I have my search ready I'll see y'all later in 15 minutes
t!remindme 15 minutes baloubaloubalou
O
O
O
Its most likely a return nbd

True but onboard memory
Also weighs more
If you prefer omron double click I'm not adverse
There are still other options
I'm not the guy to ask tho
Was boutta shower
And then
I got distracted
But yeah
If you want to maximize experience you'd prioritize GPU and display right?
You took forever to finish your thought 😭
yeah but you need a CPU that can keep up with it
@lone mango this is what upgrading to the basilisk v3 looks like
What's the point in GPU where a 7600(X)/7700(X) isn't enough anymore?
I like my Basilisk V3
So what youre saying is more rgb
7900 GRE is definitely not held back yet
Hyperspeed has none afaik
I would buy a white Basilisk V3 if it was available (I already have a black one and idek whether a white one is a thing)
7900 XT might be if 1080p
4080 at 1440p might, 1080p def held back is my guess
But what do I know
Look at my gpu cpu combo, i can say with confidence the only game my cpu holds me back on is minecraft
Oh wait it has the mouse wheel as rgb
Wtf it looks gaudy
Hyperspeed was no rgb what is this razur
I have mine set to white lol
You reckon a 7900 XT would be fine still?
It looks like something out of cyberpunk
My mouse has zero rgb, dysfunctional
Especially when you go up to 4k
Mine too
Felix I have ADHD. Let me have my RGB blinding me. It makes me happy
My gre is overclocked, still no trouble. Doubt xt would have any trouble (1440p and above)
You're in a chat surrounded by adhd, join the no rgb side
Ye if you go 4k CPU becomes significantly less relevant
💀
Like I doubt even a 4090 would be significantly hampered by a 7600X at 4k
well i have it, it's just not on
