I have a desktop that won't boot, it is an older computer that has been working for years but last week it stopped booting.

All the fans and lights turn on inside but it does not complete its booting stage.

I tried taking the RAM out and putting them back in individually but it did not work. I also checked the connections by just pushing in everything I saw to make sure everythings in.

I then noticed a red light that said CPU under it. I read my motherboards manual and it said that if that light is on then that means there's a problem with the CPU.

The motherboard is the ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0.
The CPU is the amd fx-8320.

I contacted some computer repair places near me and they all told me that they dont check AM3 socket stuff anymore, however they said they can check the other components like gpu psu etc

The next thing I plan to do is take the cpu out myself and put it back in and hope it works

So I have the following questions that I hope some people can help with:

1. Is it worth it to get my other components checked by the computer repair places? They charge ~45 which I would rather put into buying new cpu motherboard and ram if I have to upgrade.
2. Is there anything anyone can think of that might be the issue and that I could check?
