Would I be able to divide those 16x5.0 lanes to where I could have one slot at 8x4.0, another at 8x4.0 and one at 8x3.0?

the compute I do is all pretty much direct on GPU
it takes a while to load into VRAM cause of the slow PCIE connection, but once its in there, it performs exactly as fast as if it was on 16x
after talking to a partner, the P40 wouldn't even be compatible for what I need so its no big deal

What you need to know is how much memory crosstalk is there between GPUs as well as back to the system. If there isnt much of either then required bandwidth for the GPUs will be low and thus not need high PCIe lanes, then you can likely get a board that supports at least two x1 chipset outputs which most definitely exists. Likely there are cheap-ish boards with x4 + x1 chipset lanes available.

The case itself is very nice. Plenty of space for cable management and an overall easy case to build it. It does support a 360 radiator, but it's a tight fit.
My biggest complaint was that it wasn't actually a wooden design but instead a plastic that is skinned to look like wood.
