how come people don’t like the Logitech g733? I don’t care about the mic at all tbh and most of the time the difference in quality between certain headsets that are like $30 more won’t be much better yk

How do you benchmark speaker cables? I'm trying to decide whether to buy a spool of belden 8402's or 8451's and looking at the data sheet I have no idea what I'm looking at besides 20AWG and 22AWG Kek

calm cobalt

danm that's expensive lol

calm cobalt
#

just stuff like this lol

#

the plan is to build my own cable bc everything out there is expensive af

white flame
#

Well if you're making your own cables you'll need something to test them to see if they're connected properly

calm cobalt
white flame
#

A tester like the one I linked doesn't do load testing, which is what could melt it

#

Just shows how good the signal is, and if it passes spec

calm cobalt
#

oh

calm cobalt
#

@white flame can't I just test my wires using a digital multimeter?

white flame
#

That'll only tell you if the wire is connected on both ends. Signal attenuation is more important for audio.

calm cobalt
#

ahhh I see

#

I thought a strong signal means it's also good to go lol

white flame
#

A wire could be connected perfectly fine, but if it loses integrity at 15 KHz or something it'll sound like trash

calm cobalt
#

yeah that's a fair point

glass bear

yall hear about the pulsar x2

neon root
#

ye

#

more and more mice coming out with no holes or at least visible holes

glass bear
#

but its looking like its going to cost over 100

#

was thinking about buying the xlite v2 but i have ftip

neon root
#

more than likely itll be around the $130~$150 range to compete against the viper v2 pro and logitech superlight

glass bear
#

thats what im afraid of

#

if they can keep to like 100 maybe 110

neon root
#

up to you if you want to see if the pulsar x2 is lighter than the 2 options and see what they improve on

glass bear
#

i dont care about the weight

#

as much as i care about the shape

#

ftip grip with that ergo shape is not the greatest thing

glass bear
neon root
#

why look at pulsar mice then

glass bear
#

good value for the most part

#

xlite is crazy value

neon root
#

i mean, it being cheaper shouldnt determine whether its the right choice for you or not

#

could just go for something else then like gwolves, glorious or something else out there

#

cooler master even

#

asus has a lightweight mouse

glass bear
#

money is unfortunately limited for me

neon root
#

could also take a look at the pulsefire mouse. also a good mouse. wired version like $50 or so and can go down to like $30

#

they have a wireless version at around $80

#

white model tends to be out of stock though

glass bear
#

yeah i saw the pulsefire haste

neon root
#

fnatic bolt is around $70 or $80 as well

glass bear
#

problem with pulsefire haste is 3335

#

rather get the xlite for that much

neon root
#

sensor really not much of a problem depending on the surface youre on and even depending on the surface youre on, really wont matter much

#

unless that particular sensor has problems that i dont know of

glass bear
#

it wouldnt be any sort of upgrade from my current m800db

#

and it does suffer tracking issues i think

#

might be poor tuning on my mouse

#

but stuff like diagonal movement especially sucks

#

high dpi variation too

neon root
#

i mean, could just get a pulsefire from amazon, test it to see if it does suffer from the same issues and if it does then you could return it

glass bear
#

true

neon root
#

doubt itd suffer from the same issues

glass bear
#

rtings also says somethng about click latency

#

i mean i doubt it would be worse than the m800 i have

neon root
#

switches dont seem bad

#

ttc gold

glass bear
#

ive heard people say that

#

what is that

neon root
#

its the switch in the mouse for clicking

#

like how keyboards have switches

glass bear
#

same as kalih 8.0?

neon root
#

same in the same its a switch, yes

#

same as in its just as good?

#

no

glass bear
#

just as good yeah

neon root
#

kailh's are the ones that are good and youd want. the ttc golds are fine

#

theyre not bad but theyre not great either

glass bear
#

i see

#

the fnatic looks promising

#

apparently a similar shape to the viper too

#

idk why they had to make the scroll wheel so ugly though

#

however i think i would also like my new mouse to be an upgrade in terms of weight

#

if i already have the m800db the fnatic doesnt seem meaningfully better outside of bug fixes

neon root
#

up to you if you want to try and cut out weight. gets harder and harder to try and find a mouse that cuts down weight with a good build quality that isnt going to be priced fairly high

glass bear
#

true yeah

#

xlite seems to do it pretty well

#

im just waiting on that x2 and then ill probably make a decision

neon root
#

could also go for an asus mouse, lol

#

#

for my wired mice, i use a bungee. not as freeing as a wireless mouse but depending on your movement zone, its close enough

id rather just use a wireless one that weighs a bit more

#

no space on my desk for a bungee either

#

I live in canada

neon root
#

check out keychron. dont know what their shipping rates are though for canada

#

but they have fairly good keyboards at a pretty good price and you can customize them later down the line as well if you want

#

if their prices are too high for canada or their shipping is too high, then id recommend a corsair keyboard with G keys on the side (only if you want basically a stream deck and its functionality built into a keyobard to use for like streaming or other stuff for productivity), razer is decent depending on which specific board, same with steelseries. def try and look for deals if possible. believe some steel series boards go on sale time to time

#

also if youre a student with access to a student email, believe razer has a 15% off discount for students across everything in their stores

keychron has many stores in many countries

they even sell in Thailand

apple has student discount?

its either a discount or they allow for students to get basically a free work from home job

for students

what is a good 65% keyboard in the 100-200$ range? I currently have a ducky mecha mini v2 with cherry silent reds but is 60%. How is something like the keychron Q1?

neon root
#

q1 is a 75% so its a bit bigger compared to a 65%

#

My 65 on top of the keychron q1

half kettle
#

so not to much bigger then? kind of like a row of keys wider?

neon root
#

wider and taller by a little but also the bezels are a bit thicker too so that youd have to take into consideration as well if youre using it to game

half kettle
#

I don't mind thickness or anything just don't want to go to large because of space and not needing much more than 75% size.

neon root
#

if anything, the keychron q2 and k6 would be better imo

#

but thats just me since i play at a low dpi and id ended up hitting my q1 a few times due to its size

timber ridge
#

and its normally exploded layout compared to 65s which are typically not exploded

So TL;DR - I need a Bluetooth card/adapter that is supported on Win11 or I can install the drivers from the MFR instead of using windows update.

I'm looking for the best recommendations for bluetooth for my PC.
I have a bad history with bluetooth not working on my computers (I got so sick of it never working properly that I built my most recent computer without bluetooth built-in).
So now I need bluetooth for a peripheral device and the USB adapter I have doesn't support Win11 and uses windows update to install drivers... and is discontinued... which is weird, because I've had a similar issue with drivers for older hardware types (serial adapters).

the only thing I don't like about the rk61 is that you have to use the right shift for ? instead of left, at least that is what I read in a review. How does the rk855 compare to the rk61? is it similar except for extra arrow/control keys?

just get an office chair

if you specifically want a bucket seat since those are what is catered to gamers like gt, dxracer, and stuff, go for a secretlab chair on the higher end

Question for corsair RGB users
Lighting node core:
Pinout: +5v, data in, data out, gnd.
I know data output is necessary for RGB sequence effects but what if I connect to the last RGB port on the controller a non-corsair led strip with only data input??
Will that stop RGB rotation/sequences ...?

If yes tell me if this solution could work: connect the data-in power to the 4 pin of a fan, that way the fan will give back the signal and the data-in will be sent to both the fan and the led strip

#

(with "to the four pin of a fan" I mean something like making a 2fan with one header. I put the cable into the data-in pin of the fan connector)

# queen sigil how much money u lookin to spend

well, max is 500 dollars, which is the same price as the DT 1990 pros, i have that headphone on my mind because people say its great and one of the best heaphone, and it has a great build quality as its fully metal, and they look really really nice and them being open back will be great so i wouldnt sweat alot and have it on for as long as i want, thing is Leyo, i am not like a headphone reviewer or whatever, so if i get those headphones, i will love them and get used to it easily

#

currently i have like an old razer headphone and i love it, but the reason i want the DT 1990 Pro's or something like it is because i miss the feeling of having studio headphones that i want to connect to my audio interface

if the tofu65 is similar to the 60, then it should have more potential

queen sigil
#

if being able to mess around with parts is something you want id go tofu

timber ridge
#

but then youd have to do stuff like filing down standoffs/pcbs

#

etc

queen sigil
#

compared to the nk65

random umbra
#

are there any better options on kbd than the tofu that is 60 or 65

timber ridge
#

bakeneko65/any board that uses the files

queen sigil
#

is this gonna be ur first custom keyboard

random umbra

It is

#

That’s why I’m pretty much lost on this haha

queen sigil

@timber ridge whats ur opinion on going from 72g holy boba to 80g oil kings

timber ridge
#

all new gateron is really nice but expensive

#

i spring swap all my switches tho

queen sigil
#

more like spring weight wise

timber ridge
#

get some long springs

queen sigil
#

Because I dont want light linears but I also dont want super heavy ones

random umbra
#

Oil kings are 60 bottom out aren’t they?

queen sigil
#

but the 72g holy bobas feel really natural to me rn

#

i was planning on gettint 80g tx longs

#

just from divinikey or somethign

queen sigil
random umbra
#

Ah my bad

timber ridge
#

long springs feel a bit heavier

#

and are a lot snappier than reg

queen sigil
#

do u think 72g holy bobas will feel somewhat simular

#

to the 80g

timber ridge
#

i havent used a tactile in a long while so it might be hard to say

#

and all my switches use 62-65g long springs

queen sigil
#

idk because just moving from tactil back to linear but trying to get the same acuatuion weight

random umbra
#

Is gaming still easy enough on 65+ springs? I’d imagine it wouldn’t be bad but no idea

queen sigil
#

spring weight is all preference

timber ridge
#

it feels natural to me but thats because thats all i use

#

but when i first stopped using mx reds, the first thing i noticed was i didnt get as many typos/accidental actuations with heavier switches

#

may not apply to you but something to point out

queen sigil
#

as long as its not super heavy or light (to you)

#

and ur used to whatever it is

#

u just dont want it to be so light that u might misinput or too heavy that u might be slower

#

tbh there needs to be switch spring tester packs

#

just like 5 of each spring from like 45->80 or something

timber ridge
#

if you have the budget, id skip tx and get sprit springs

#

imo they feel much nicer but tx is still good

queen sigil
#

I though sprit was tx tbh lol

timber ridge
#

ggs lol

random umbra
#

Thank you guys so much

timber ridge
#

np

#

and id avoid creams unless youre buying some that are already broken in

#

of if you plan to break them in yourself

random umbra
#

I’ve heard they need broken in a lot even when lubed

timber ridge
#

ye

#

not a good stock switch

#

oil kings on the other hand is really good along with all the other new gateron stuff

#

but its p pricey

tight pulsar
#

i just use mx blacks

#

and mx browns

#

and soon mx clears
