SHP9500/9600 are not good. They have major issues in the Treble area, which is where most of the high notes exist and can be painful to listen to.

For the same rough price, you can get the more balanced AKG K361 that lean more into the Harmon Target, which is a warmer target.

AKG K361 are almost completely Harmon Neutral.

Is the connection a Fiber Connection?

If it is, you'll want to stay with their provided Fiber Box, and then use a separate Router.

If it's Cable, then you'll need to find an Xfinity Compatible Modem (Arris makes a lot of good modems) and then any Router you please (Asus makes a fair bit of good ones.)
