Personal preference, reds are linear, browns are tactile, blues are clicky (least popular). I have red switches but I haven’t tried a tactile switch so I can’t testify to the feel of one. reds are linear (they just slide up and down smoothly, no bumps)
browns are tactile (there is a slight bump like a little but noticeable resistance first bfore it goes down smoothly.)
Blues were clicky (has clickbar. is noisy. has tactile bump too but moreso it's the loudest out of all even if u click lightly)

in my experience "gaming" membranes are usually all pretty low quality

Yeah I’ve been using a default dell keyboard for years and I’ve gotten so used to the way that my fingers can lay flat that trying a keyboard with those raised keys feels like work. And past mechanical keyboards seem like the keys are too easy to press. Plus, I’m not a big fan of the clickity clickity that a lot of people like. Maybe I will just try to find one that has a harder activation pressure
