Wait are they seriously 1000?
they do have mic
Wait are they seriously 1000?
@split nimbus no lol
Oh good
there are the koss ksc75 which seem ok for the price, doesn't include mic tho
~14usd
I'll see if they have a similar model with a mic
why not use your current headset, assuming you have one
basically it's falling apart
ah
It's a 8 year old $5 amazon basic or whatever
I would be totally fine spending above 20 for a good quality build that would last
razer and steelseries i would look into
apparently razer made a headset that shakes according to bass input from the game or video you watch
Yeah, I don't need that
beyerdynamic, audio technica, etc.
@west hornet audiotechnica sell headsets with mics?
Yeah, I don't need that
@split nimbus yeah just an example of a really good quality pair
i've seen a few, i think they have a pretty good wireless headset around 200 tho
I'm looking more for build quality, not sound quality
Basically anything with a decent mic that won't break after one year
probably something with changeable earpads that don't cost a fortune
Yeah, the "earpads" are what are giving out on these things
idk too many details but some heaphones like the hd6xx's i use or beyerdynamic dt 770 have replacement ear pads for when they wear out
TIL kensington makes headsets
My Sennheiser hd6xx come in today
Needing opinions and recommendations I am looking at the magni 3+ for a solid state amp. $100-300 is my price range what do you recommend
Don’t know if this is the right place to ask but, I’m assuming my stream looks bad when I’m streaming because I’m using WiFi and not wired. Im nowhere near any Ethernet ports in my house, so is there any Inexpensive and simple way to get more stable/better internet?
Nope sadly not. Gotta do Ethernet my guy
I’ve heard of powerline adapters, but haven’t really looked into them
Just get a long Ethernet cable and find a way to get it to the router
Dude my nearest ethernet port is downstairs and then some
That’d require like a 100 foot or longer cable
@devout fiber are you able to drill holes and such?
Nope
a cable is relatively cheap, but getting it from your router to your PC is a different story
and ah ok
powerline adapters can work yeah
I haven't used them myself but I think they would be perfect for your use case, I would do some more research
Okay I gotta look into it too then
Which Ethernet cable is good for in wall
cat 6 may be a bit more future proof
whats a better headset, Razer Naris or a steel series 5
the steel series on amazon.ca wont be in stock till August 20th thou
but it is 50 bucks less
is this keyboard good?
^^@split nimbus sry for the ping but is this keyboard good
it can connect wired thou
@calm cobalt I like the razer nari can’t speak to the steelseries one tho
Also I prefer wired keyboard as there really isn’t a point to spending extra on wireless if you don’t move the keyboard around - mouse I can understand
the keyboard has a wired part too
so you can connect it wired or wireless
and most other cherry mx red keyboards cost for in Canada
Even if it does have a wired part I wouldn’t spend the extra money on a wireless
But if you really like that one I’d go for it 👍
ik
but the only problem here in Canada is that all Cherry Mx Reds And Browns cost a lot
like either in USD
or like 150 above
sry 175 above
this is one of the best I found
Ahhh gotcha
yea if this was the US
i would have FOR SURE gotten a another heyboard
but thanks for the feedback
For sure
arctis 5 is pretty good for the price. idk about the nari though
My hd6xx came in!!
Niceeee
I'll be taking pictures when I get home
hey im new here and i’m just wondering what a solid 60% keyboard is
also possibly a good mouse too
ugly pics
that ducky with hyperx switches is good and the new razer is decent
Varmilos are solid as wel
yea idk if them or leopold make 60’s, I know they make 68 key ones
😔 the smallest they both make are 68 key
just curious, what difference would you say you hear between the 2
Dt990 lower end and treble is more focused. Hd6xx wider sound stage so less bass still is present but better highs and mids. And the separation is better
Dt990 fun headphones vs more focused headphones
But they both aren't bad headphones they serve different purposes.
I've heard the gk61 is good aswell
😔 missed my chance at a 356 mini https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/hv837r/usoh_h_otd_356_mini_v1_artisans_w_paypal/
Rip
as adverse as I was to paying over 100 bucks for a headset, the virtuoso corsair set is kind of nice, don't really regret it
nah I’d love to own one of those too expensive for me
but I have some friends who are making a clone of it and making a few boards so imma get one of them
What makes it worth that much?
basically theyre super rare (they made like 100 total), like 10 years old, good quality
like cars people pay big money for stuff
Ooh alr, wasn't sure what made the price so high
ya otd boards are like ferrari's of cars, super expensive, old, and its an original korean custom so its even more $$$
I was looking at the keycaps but none of them look interesting
can someone help?
Yam Yam Yam
my r key isnt regestiring
its a pain in the ass
i have to slam my finger on the r key
nvm i fixed it
Lol
now the iiii key wants to act up
Let me guess... membrane keyboard?
Did you by chance spill anything on it?
iiiiii
my mouse is a cheap one with a dpi button, but it doesnt state the dpui values? anyway to check?
like everything it depends on the model
their keyboards suck
no their stabs suck and their spacebar looks like a tire
your mouse wheel looks like a tire
This is my keyboard:
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16823201111
Yes
Lmao
Any good sub-$200 144hz 1ms monitors out there?
msi g241 @strong latch
I really do like the feel of that Rosewill keyboard. It's so much nicer than the keys on this laptop keyboard. (Though the new keyboard is put away until I build my new PC.)
anyone have some good $50-$60 keyboard mouse combos
Guys, any idea why my spacebar gets stuck on one side when i press it not in the middle. I have the hyperx alloy elite
Did you spill something or anything like that?
If not try taking it off and taking a picture and posting it here
any good webcams under 60?
phone
huh ill try it
yea droidcam is great
IVCAM gang
Logitech c920 works well for me, Although it is about 70 and out of stock everywhere right now
anyone know of a good keyboard and also mouse?
G502, G pro wireless, and glorious model O are my usual recommendations
Need a reccomendations for a good surround sound headphone
I also got the k95 Corsair keyboard with macro keys and a kain 120 mouse
Lol
Sold out lmao
Kacakaca
aliexpress is the best
What’s a good headset for $200 aud and down
@torn onyx Logitech g pro x
:/
😋
@torn onyx ath m50x, dt770/990 pro, sennheiser hd58x with a modmic
Ahh I didn’t see aud
Maybe pc37x
hey can someone help me out here?
my r key isnt registering
im just copying and pasting the letter r when i need to
it legit sucks ass
Membrane keyboard?
Hmm
i cleaned my keycaps before
Might have to solder a new switch on there then
lol
i might as well get a new keyboard
Lol
clean the switch
how
get some isopropyl alcohol and wipe it down I guess
maybe
now its not working
DAMNIT
soo?
could using a blow dryer to dust my keyboard be a reason?
@daring zenith
if it's not a advertised feature, it prob doesn't support it
@sly axle duckies arent hot swappable
Either u can de-solder and put a new switch or contact to see if u can get it replaced
use an air compressor/anything that blows air if u need to get rid of dust
I'm getting a ducky mecha mini, should I get mx browns or mx reds?
Thats all preference
Ik its preference, and I was looking into browns, but some ppl say mx browns are not good
although most youtubers and reviewers get browns
Browns are some of the most loved key switches around
yeah that's what I heard, but some reviewers said that mx browns are not great compared to gaterons
I can't get gaterons on ducky tho
ppl said they were too sticky and not really tactile compared to the gaterons
Eh, mx is kinda the standard. Idk much about gaterons tbh
If you really wanted to feel the difference you could get a key switch tester
alright, do you recommend any specific keycaps?
nah I'll just research more and get one
I like doubleshot pbt but I've only ever bought them from hyperx
Can't really recommend something else that I don't have experience with
yeah I was thinking about getting the pudding keycaps from hyperx
they look rlly good with the ducky keyboards
Look nice and feel nice
But i would get the board first and test it for a week or so before getting keycaps
ok thank you!
Np
mx browns suck gaterons are far superior on basically all of the mx lineup
Delux Ergonomic Vertical Mouse,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G4ZBW9H?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And rgb
I've been considering upgrading my keyboard but wasn't sure between the razer huntsman or blackwidow
huntsman te all the way if ur getting a razer board
I've definitely been leaning towards it, right now I have a 2014 blackwidow ultimate
Just build your own

should I get the logitech g pro x or the hyperx cloud alpha s
@wet otter Logitech
any reason why?
anybody know any cheap 3x2 macropads qmk preferred
@wet otter really good audio quality, build quality and is quite comfortable
If you want good audio quality, I would get an audiophile or consumer set. You pay a ton for the gaming name.
@here I just got the razer cynosa but the cynosa v2 just came out. Should I return the cynosa and get the v2?
@potent condor I would keep the original, the v2 is kinda a downgrade. The media keys are cheap and it's cheaper materisls
Is the DPI button on the mouse itself?
no
Have you tried clicking the settings button in top right
lemme check my g hub
I wonder if it's something about the "pre profile configuration" on yours @sly axle
Is there a gaming mouse for under 70 that has a thumb, and ring finger rest
g502
Wut brand? Logitech?
yeea
It doesn’t have a ring finger extended thing tho
ok
ring finger what
@daring zenith rest
Like the thumb rest is great
But I also want that on the ring finger side
But mouse no exist
Logitech Gaming Software
what were you looking for
@echo sonnet mechanical or nah?
Does anyone have a steel series apex 7 that they can give me an opinion on. Im looking to buy one but there aren't very many reviews on it.
okay so i'm thinking of replacing my mechanical keyboard switches
currently i have outemu blues but theyre just so so loud
however now i'm on the verge between getting browns or reds
what is typing like on reds?
reds are linear so yea theyre linear
Kk
Can I get a good xlr or usb mic for around 80ish dollars usd?
samson q2u best budget mic imo near that price. works with both xlr and usb, if you went a little more i'd say the elgato wave 1 usb mic
@golden bone
samson q2u or elgato wave 1 or yeti nano? @west hornet
yeti nano isn't bad but for the price i'd spend a bit more on a wave
purely for sound quality which is best
currently i see the q2u for 60, nano for 50, and wave 1 for 100+
both very similar but i prefer the wave a bit more
the nano is 100
Yeti Nano Premium USB Microphone with Desktop Stand, Black
someone in my area is selling one for 50
well used you can get cheaper ya
can't really hear because youtube compression, but if you were posting on youtube this is how it compares https://youtu.be/_mLyLh7cN2s?t=656
timestamp 10:07
if it's not damaged and stills works good than 50 ain't a bad price
good condition
they say they wanted to start streaming and could never find time to get into it
you can always try to ask them to send sample recordings if it's not too much for them to be sure
true
Can someone help me find out wether my keyboard switches can be switched
Gk61 gateron browns
I saw something about if my switches don’t have like 2 or 3 pins or something like that at the bottom of it , I can’t switch them , but my switches don’t have any pins at the bottom of them
gateron switches don't look like they have pins on the bottom
Yea but I looked up a picture of the gateron optical yellows and they have two pins at the bottom
I'm looking at browns
optical and normal are different
its hotswap and should support any mx switches, the pcb is 3 pin but you can just chop of the plastic part of 5 pins
That’s my switch
blurr
My lights are off
those are optical
if u wanna swap them this is where u can buy them https://www.epathbuy.com/product/gateron-optical-switches/
Gateron Optical Switches: red, blue, black ,brown, yellow and silver optional The specs for these Gateron optical switches: Gateron silver optical switch: bottom out distances: 3.20+0/-0.3mm actuation distance: 1.0±0.1mm Operating force: 45±15gf End force: < 110gf Gateron bl...

Hey guys I ordered a ducky mecha mini with mx browns
I was wonderinng if this was a good purchase or if I should have gotten a gmmk or anne pro 2
What’s the best quieter mechanical keyboard that still has a good resistance?
I hate the loud clicking sounds when people type it hurts my ears lol
Any suggestions?
Quieter switches?
Depends on preference but linear and tactile switches should be quieter
@haughty wren
For example mx browns are tactile and reds are linear
Tactile click makes sound
bottoming out makes sound
which one do you want to minimize?
I don’t want it terribly loud but I want the click
I think he has blues rn
then cherry browns or gateron browns
Yeah then browns would be the way to go
other companies I'm not so sure about
What key board would be a good pick for this? I use a wireless Logitech 20 dollar mouse and keyboard rn...
what is the budget
if u get cherry browns i will break ur keyboard
there's the 1000$ keyboards, the 100$ keyboards, and the 50$ keyboards
different price ranges
I don’t want anything to far over 100 bucks
@tight pulsar I'm getting cherry browns and you can't do anything about it
it sounds better than gateron browns
Ehh I just ordered a ducky mecha mini with mx browns for about $120
idc if gateron browns have a bigger tactile click
ur on drugs then
Ya mx browns> gateron
Gateron browns supposedly feel better tho
I like the sound of cherry browns better tho
mx browns are just dirty reds
That’s what I’ve heard too
sound isnt everything
it is for me now
Mx browns are apparently “sticky”
people dont like cherry browns because they have literally no tactile bump
which is why you buy tactiles in the first place
Anne Pro 2 gang
thats why theyre called dirty reds cause they just feel like scratchy linears
I just got a mecha mini with mx browns
I'll prob have to get a keytester to tell for sure but I'm pretty sure I'll like cherry browns
the sound matters more to me than the tactile click :P
I honestly can barely feel the click on these blues when I type
doesn't matter as much
I like the sound
im getting everglides cause im smart kek
Ducky > Anne Pro 2
Well the Anne Pro 2 is in stock more often
also if u looking at tkls i'd highly suggest the entr https://drop.com/buy/drop-entr-mechanical-keyboard
it has actually good switches
preorder eh
🤷♂️ its the price of gateron yellows in a retail board u gotta wait
Its nice but compared to the mecha mini the one 2 mini isn’t worth it
Unless u really need the arrow keys
arrow keys op tho
60% best %
Mecha mini is just meh imo
tkl% best %
gmmk rly just has hotswap going for it also the usb connector sucks
65% is the best imo
Is hotswap worth it
Depends
Like as a feature
I want it
not really
so eh
its one of those features that sounds great but 99% of people will never use it
Yea
^
too much keyboard talk here
go back to headphone land
not enough keybord talk

for most people its not actualy a useful feature
less head phone talk
this chat ain't big enough for the both of us
also hotswap is easier to break
I'm one to change my mind often so

indeed it is
I was gonna get the new novelkeys keyboard
but I want moar options
But I can’t wait that long
nk65 is pretty nice if u can grab it
but tkl
Honestly I’m fine with anything. Anything is better than my corsair membrane
I had a random dell keyboard
Same
Then I got this corsair thinking it was rlly nice
Paid $50 same as the price for a gk61
lol ps2
i told u it was old lmao
lmao wtf does this mean Polished holes for smooth keyboarding
Funny thing is it doesnt sound too bad
SMOOTH KEYBOARDING GUYS
like i could get the smooth keyboarding but what do holes have anything to do with it
Polished or lubed lmao
😔 nobody here uses a topre keyboard i wanna know how nice they are
ask mechkeys
yea but that requires more effort
lmao
also they'd be like it feels like topre duh nerd
hm wait actually i have to yell ask a vender there how long it takes to ship springs cause its been 17 days
all i look at is vendor announcements and show and tell lmao
hey should i save up for a 2060 super or buy a webcam for my stream, i have a 1660 btw
1660 is still decent, I’d wait to see if new cards come out, could be better for money or lower cost of 2000 series cards on used market
Webcam, the cheapest thing you can do is use phone, phone cameras are decent at webcam
why yall doing this in #peripherals-and-displays
i was just wondering cause recently all of my streams have been a little laggy and i was wondering if it was a gpu problem cause idk how good a 1660 is
and because it is a question based on a peripherals
and cause i can
You use nvenc encoder right?
and 2000series cards arent going down in price
A video encoder for streaming and recording built into nvidia cards
^^
oh ok do i have to download it
For single pc streaming you must use nvenc, it is the best way to stream
In OBS settings look under stream and encoder
ok
Default is x264 software you want hardware nvenc new
ok thx
1660s>>
and 2000series cards arent going down in price
@hollow pond wdym?
how many sales have u seen on 2000 cards
i dont even see prices anymore lol
it was conrfirmed that they're going to dry u stock on purpose to put out the 3000series
and when stock dries up
prices go up
Only tech that really gets cheaper anymore are really old cpu's
no
Ducky one 2 or Anne Pro 2
How much is the mouse?
Ducky isnt always in stock tho
Yea I've heard it gets sold out quickly
Anne Pro 2 is pretty much the same thing
Anne Pro 2 has Gaterons and Kahil
U could pay more for mx but just go with the gaterons
what switch do u want?
or u can check out the new razer
it’s down 50$ compared to newegg
I was thinking either cherry mx red, blue,or brown
I'm not sure if they're available
red
brown
RED
Anne Pro 2 has gateron browns which are pretty good
it’s all preference
So are brown switches my best bet?
Check out the huntsman 60%, anne pro 2, or the ducky and see which ones u like
Ok bet
Id recommend the anne pro 2
Maybe im not sure
anne pro 2 has gaterons, browns which are good
hunstman has like blue and reds i think
I see
huntsman is 120
Ye the huntsman a lil bit more expensive
I'm thinking the ducky if I can find it in stock
Theyre all in pre-order
Hmmm
if ur lucky u might be able to snag one if ur patient
Fr
Thats why i went with the anne pro 2
keyboards are a great way to gain patience
Whats the best mouse for semi bigger hands
model d looks pretty decent
Because the mouse I have rn for my Xbox is kinda small
Isn't it small tho?
Which one is bigger?
oh u like big eh
wired or wireless?
Wired
I just need something that is wide and sits a lil higher off the ground than the model o
Anyone here into custom keyboards? I have some questions
yea what u need @karmic bramble
I was looking at stabilizers and reading the comments on them. They mentioned lube for them. As I don't know anything about custom keyboards, could you explain the use of lube on a mechanical keyboard?
I am also curious as to whether what parts I have chosen will work together
@tight pulsar
okay so for switches and stabilizers, the stem (the cross looking part) and the housings are plastic on plastic, which causes friction. Lube helps get rid of that, for switches it slightly changes the sound/feel and makes them more smooth, which is what people want. For stabilizers, it’s more important because it reduces the rattle between the stem and the wire, and makes it smoother. For switches it’s more optional, but it’s something that makes the stabilizers way better
here’s an example for stabilizers before and after https://youtu.be/02o-8btbz8I
Well I cheaped out on my stabilizers and took the default cherry copy stabs that comes with the kits. They were rattling AF specially the spacebar. The other stabilizers were ok but there was a bit of rattle.
So I set out had lubed the F out of the fake Cherry stabs. The res...
Okay. That makes a lot of sense. If I sent my list of parts, could you calrify that they would work or not?
yea
Cool. Should I do it here or through DM?
doesn’t really matter for me
Okay
Reason: Duplicated text
okay dms then lol
Wired or Wireless?
depends on what kind of gaming youre doing but glorious model o- is what i recommend
also a good mouse
also on sale rn it seems on amazon though gotta wait for it to be in stock
Razer Basilisk is a solid wireless mouse
Elgato Cam Link 4K vs. dedicated card? +/-? Thx
depends on what camera but cam link if you can get it at a reasonable price
Canon Vixia HF R800.
i say depends on what camera because some cameras can connect via usb such as select canon cameras
It can connect with the cam link -- but I like to keep things in the box if possible and not usb everywhere.
check out canons support on their eos cam support because they have a select cameras that can connect via usb and be used as a webcam
otherwise again, cam link if you can get it at a decent price
yes -- this one is camcorder (and upgrade from my c220).
But I'm curious if there's a performance difference (there should be) -- but does it matter. As I'd rather go internal.
depends on what fps youre recording at and at what resolution as hdmi vs usb can only handle so much but cam link itself vs lets say an elgato hd 60 pro, they would be about same performance
Exactly. And HDMI. @humble depot makes fun of me because I only have a GTX 1060 6GB, but I'll never saturate it, so no point to by a Titan so I can say that I have a better card :)😆
well a cam link/elgato card wouldnt matter to much with what gpu you have
as theyre their own encoders unless you use the nvidia encoder in something like obs
To work at home what suits I7 or I5
would be a better topic in #cpus-mobo-and-memory Rogama1
That I know -- I was making the example that I won't saturate USB or PCI b/c I'm only doing 1080p. Just wanted to make sure there's no "gotcha" of running an internal card. That's why I gave the video card example, I don't need more than a GTX 1060.
@halcyon siren it’s pretty much exactly the same as the newer version except it doesn’t have the Blue microphone that the new one has
If you don’t really care about the mic then I would get the older one
that’s a Corsair rgb hub
@calm cobalt a fan and RGB controller
oh ok
Im thinking of getting a new monitor that has 144 Hz and good colors was a good low price one my budge is 200$
@west hornet the one listed first is shipped from China, the Newegg listing is more expensive
oh whoops
There's the Newegg listing
Don't want them to buy it and find it takes 5 months to ship xD
lmao
Is an analog keyboard good for gaming
A what
What is this black magic
Analog are okay. Unfortunately a lot of games don't have programming to allow that kind of continuous input to be usable. I would say if you're playing racing games, sure. Otherwise it's comparable to a standard keeb, maybe worse if the actuation is crap.
new keyboard
Purty
;0
hey guys
recommendations on mice
- keyboard, budget 57$
this is my current build https://pcpartpicker.com/user/denys4172/saved/b96Mbv
https://www.amazon.com/Razer-xasilisk-HyperSpeed-Wireless-Gaming/dp/B08BPJB2K8?th=1 ive seen this one, but ugh thats 50 bucks over budget
im fine with 6k dpi as well
dont need a high one, somethn thats responsive is fine with me
i was thinking maybe this mouse? but then what keyboard https://www.amazon.com/Razer-DeathAdder-Essential-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07Y693ND1/ref=pd_cart_vw_crc_2_4/137-7353764-5248962?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07Y693ND1&pd_rd_r=248d3e80-ee54-4355-919f-1352ab83c1c6&pd_rd_w=eyxFN&pd_rd_wg=PPCAN&pf_rd_p=6b8facbd-d0ef-4764-b637-32a50d28714d&pf_rd_r=X7T8SN0C4BWTNESF7N0N&psc=1&refRID=X7T8SN0C4BWTNESF7N0N
Hyperspeed Basilik is 60 bucks
So you want a mouse and a keyboard for 57 bucks?
ye
I would go with the deathadder then
I've never used the Deathadder but from what ive heard its a good mouse for the price
ye im watching a yt vid on 16k dpi
i dont like that reaction in games, hard to aim
mouse moves too fast even on ultra low sensitivity
tbh my logitech mouse aint bad
i dont even think i need to get a mouse tbh
i got wireless logitech mouse
thats my mouse
if u dont wanna get a new mouse, thats fine
idk what gen that is
i have had issues with it maybe cuz i dont have a mat
but response sometimes fails, not sure if it was because of battery issue
or if its the game itself
i played heroes of the storm, it is a click to move game
and so i would click and i wouldnt get a response
but doesnt seem to have that isue in any other game i play
Any good 144hz 1ms 1080p monitors for under $200?
i was hoping for ips ngl
ips isnt that great
its for movie makers really
to get everylast color out of ur screen
im not gonna be gaming all that often
but if ur gaming the difference is so subtle u wont notice
and if i am it's gonna be visual titles like ac
its still for video makers mainly
hmm ok
but y cant find a good one under 200
if u want psi
especially at that inch display
kinda gatta sacrifice one for other
higher cost for better looks or lower screen size for a lower price
I bought the most adorable mechanical keyboard that I thought was unique on Amazon (that I could find). Hopefully I don’t become a keyboard enthusiast and grow to hate it
Then again it was only $50, so maybe not a total lose
@edgy shard just be poor and that will never happen can confirm
It should be fine probably
Is the Corsair Harpoon Pro a bad mouse? I've seen mixed reviews of it, some people saying that it's amazing while others claim it's a terrible mouse.
It is a good mouse if you can get it for $35. It's a nice budget-ish mouse, but not worth $50 imo
If you have $50 get a refurbished Dark Core Pro
Looking for a new mouse any ideas
Yea, you aren't wrong it is cute, but not the mouse i need
Ah, that kind of mouse! imagine coming to a tech server looking for a computer mouse 🤣
From my experience, logitech mice are nice
Yea, you aren't wrong it is cute, but not the mouse i need
I like the Dark Core Pro RGB. There are some last gen ones on Corsair.com for $50 refurb and they are very nice mice. Great for a palm grip, a bit of heft, well built
I'm honestly not a logi fan. The ones I have tried were meh
I had an old ergonomic flagship and a midrange one briefly, sold both.
i know razer is a very expensive brand with not that great of build quality but their mice are quite good
i have the mamba elite and its really nice
Drop alt high profile, lubed sakurios silent linears, took the stabs off of a salvaged ducky one2 mini and lubed those myself, and some cheap $20
Pudding keycaps from amazon
The keyboard I might came in. I don’t know if I like it. I’m so used to membrane keys that a mechanical just feels like a weird adjustment
the hi pro alt looks pretty nice
What 100$ or below keeb withers switches should I get, preferably full sized
we can’t ruin the dell keyboard balance
Thoughts?

Im gonna be picking up a Steelseries Apex pro here in a bit
Does anyone know what keycaps would be compatible with the steel series apex pro?
I read hyperx's pudding caps work but you might have to slightly shave down the inside of the spacebar where the LED's are and the left shift @unkempt timber
Okay, thanks!
basically if its to thick of a cap it binds, the switches dont have a recessed LED like standard Cherry switches
Ok
little bit of a shame the 200 dollar keyboard only has ABS instead of PBT caps
Yeah, I wasn’t paying much attention to the caps customization until it was too late
good keyboard reguardless?
Yeah
im looking to grab one
Great Keyboard
the reddit for mechanical keyboards might be able to steer you ina clearer direction
Ok, tysm
np
Does HyperX make good headsets? All of my other peripherals are HyperX and I kinda wanna keep it consistent but idk if their headsets are any good.
only headset ive used from hyperx is the cloud flight which ive been liking as theyre pretty comfortable and lightweight but for overall sound and quality, theres probably some better headsets for around the same price depending on which models youre comparing
I would avoid "gaming headsets," as you get far better sound quality for the price with an audiophile or consumer set. You pay for the gaming name. I'd suggest looking at the Sony WH1000XM3s (NC), Grado SR60s (openbacked), or Sennheiser headphones
I tried a flagship HyperX headset and was very disappointed compared to my daily drivers
I bought some “gaming headphones” from amazon for $13 when I used them for my Xbox one. They were actually pretty decent and the mod wasn’t that bad
Gaming stuff isn’t always expensive
:P
True. But the $13 market isn't exactly picky
at that point it's like "I need something that plays sound"
Very low bar lol
And I’m like literally deaf
I use Apple earbuds for my PC and they sound good to me

Lol audio people are triggered
Yeah, no comment lol
Whatever works. If all you are doing is watching youtube and streaming spotify you wont ever notice the difference in a reasonable cheap set of headphones and $200 ones. Some headsets do just sound horrible though.
I use my beats lmao
@queen wadi If you're taking pics like that, id recommend using a slower shutter speed or more light and then bring up the saturation and vibrance in post to make the rgb pop
I am looking for a hub/docking station for a Macbook Pro that I can support an external hard drive, HP (HDMI) monitor, samsung TV as a monitor (via HDMI), and USB microphone as well as power my Macbook. Will the Wavelink USB-C Triple Display Universal Docking station work or any other suggestions?
@cedar dock it was my phone I don’t have a camera
Suggestion still applies other than shutter speed, but great pics!
Razer huntsman or a ducky 60 mechanical?
ducky
Cloud ll gang
Kraken te work perfect for me
Why do you hate ducky's? @thorny aspen
Fork knife kids man they made me hate them
Oh lmao
that doesn't mean they're product is bad tho
Id recommend them over razer tbh
triggered

if you are buying headphones under 20usd then you are just looking for something that turns on, but even in that case i'd recommend the koss ksc75 or ksc75x for very low budget
Duckies are cheaper and have a larger selection of switches
Although theyre often sold out now
@calm cobalt
Huntsman 60%s will be availible in certain retailers and is aluminum i think
eh I’m not really a fan of razers optical switches
@jovial scaffold also the price makes me mad I mean 110 for blue switches
And the reds arent out yet if im correct
Ya, the price for what your getting amazing. You're really paying for a brand. Thats why something like a gk61 is a good choice. Cheaper, better switches, and hot swappable
:v every tray mount will feel like a tray mount
So is the ducky better if I can find it in stock?
You can back order it on mechanical keyboard . com
You can
okay welp im gunna post this here bc idk where it does if it belongs here then thats good
but ewww
i mostly care about the color
it just looks ewww
@calm cobalt Yea wait for them to come in stock, I believe the TKL blue led one is in stock rn
does any one know of a good mechanical keyboard for around $70
@west hornet best iems for like 50?
artiste dc1 is good for money, but might be long shipping. i hear good things about the kz zs10 too and it would probably be better shipping
oh also forgot the TIN T2's @tight pulsar
if you kept the wire tucked somewhere so it doesn't hit the bike i think it should be fine, the tin's have a solid metal body, my only concern if i was biking is the wire getting stuck and them falling out of my ear, but falling out depends on the individual
ya they won’t get stuck or something idk if the sweat would be an issue or nah
I don't think it should be an issue, cables and iem are sealed mostly it seems
soon™️

Lol
I’m don’t like cherry switches
Too much hype for what it delivers
Gaterons are way better
But halo trues and holy pandas
ergo clears far superior tho
Lmao that meme
I dont like clears in my opinion
thats why u make ergo clears ez
are maono mics any good?
Cousin has clears and theyre
Anyone know mouse those bigger full sized mouse pads? any recommendations.
Where you can put the keyboard and mouse on it
I had a corsair one
Any decent 50~ dollar mechanical keyboards?
G502 hero, or cm mm711??
glorious has a pretty big mousepads
what do yall think about the logitech pro keyboard vs the steelseries apex 7 tkl
im considering getting one and theyre both $130
@gritty sluice Steelseries has a pretty big one
I just got a corsair one
It was 25 dollar for their 36*15 and it was the thiccccccccc variant. I think it's 6mm thicccccc
Was on sale tho
Steelseries arctis 1’s for $35 bucks on amazon rn
Too good not to share! Just found this item on Mercari. Tap the link to sign up and get up to $30 off. https://merc.li/8tt2nAVtb
This a good deal or nah?
Most of the newer controllers work with Bluetooth
bluetooth usually has some latency
😀
I mean if you're using a controller it's gonna add some latency anyway
and if you're really worried about latency just plug it in with a micro usb
I'm really confused this keeps happening with my One 2 Mini.
Basically seemingly randomly it goes into a weird mode where Windows goes weird.
Pressing esc focuses different windows, pressing tab pulls up the old alt tab menu, and hitting shift changes keyboard languages (as if per win+space)
Unplugging and replugging the keyboard does not fix it. Restarting windows does.
@graceful jetty has it switched into tablet mode?
I do have a tablet plugged in but this issue was happening to me long before I got my tablet.
i have $50 what is the best keyboard i could get
Depends on what you want.
I like to buy keyboards in local used markets when on budget because you get more for much cheaper.
not what i mean @graceful jetty. Windows has a tablet mode, that amongst other things enables a software keyboard.
oooh
It was the accessibility on screen keyboard
Enabled from the Settings app.
I think I'm always in tablet mode now (my tablet is always plugged in, but I don't always use it).
nope nvm
I forgot that option existed. Didn't touch it.
I thought you maybe meant Windows Ink.
next time it happens, check if that one has switched on
Doesn't it change the taskbar iirc?
i honestly cannot remember
I'd have noticed if my beautiful taskbar had been messed with
Actually the tablet is one of the things that helped me diagnose the issue.
When you hold a mod key like Ctrl and use the pen, it shows "Ctrl" under the cursor.
When it's in the glitched mode, I see Alt Gr under the cursor all the time.
that "sounds" like your input being "glitched/locked/bugged"
I'm on a french keyboard if that helps.
it should not matter.
What's weird is, I can sort of type on discord (typing is normal but some functions don't work), but if I go into Settings or the Start Menu I can only type Alt Gr keys (like € if I press E).
check your keyboard settings in windows, that you dont have a "weird" keyboard added
quick way to do that is winkey+space
Windows + Space pulls up the region switching dialogue I thought?
It shows English and French (AZERTY)
which is ALSO the keyboard switch IF you have multiple
Ah. It only shows English and French as options.
okay, so that does not seem to be the option then
In the glitched "mode", pressing shift on Discord or Chrome (haven't checked other apps) opens the Win+Space menu.
But on UWP (like Settings or Start), it doesn't seem to do anything iirc.
Can't check since I'm not in glitch mode.
aye, which makes me lean towards the glitched/locked/bugged comment i made earlier
I'd like to tell you if it happens on other PCs too, but I can't really repro the bug.
It hadn't happened in ~two weeks.
a couple of things you can try:
It used to happen a lot more often (every few days). IDK if I've been lucky, but I've only had the kb for a couple months.
run a reset of windows.
also btw I am off my PC until tomorrow so I will have to try stuff tmrw (it is late here)
I don't want to reset all my installed apps..
trying to use a different keyboard (and keep using it until it either happens or doesnt)
then take that keyboard, load it in a trebuchet (if you dont own one, get your mcguyver on and build one) and launch it at the manufacturer
Only the Ducky One 2 Mini. Other keyboard being a Logitech membrane (oof) keyboard I had to use for a month, and a G Skill full size mech.
see above :)
A key difference (besides the ducky being much smaller) is that the ducky is AZERTY while all my others are QWERTY.
haha good idea
because what you are describing should NOT happen.
I bought it in my local used market so I'm not sure if they'll take it but worth a try.
perhaps have a look at some of the mech keyboard forums and see if anyone else has seen that
o it’s a french layout
Fractal Design took my case from 4 years ago that I bought when living accross the Pacific because a USB port broke.
Yeah I hate it @tight pulsar
because it COULD be a borked solder joint or controller bug
I've googled it a lot. Haven't found much :/
try and reach out to Ducky
Some people suggest installing the latest firmware for similar issues, but been there done that.
wildew
also id just get something like switch hitter and see what the keys do
basically it tells you what each key resisters like if ur key was mapped to something else
it’s nice for testing pcbs
it has "some" way of triggering the alt-gr key
it might be a multi-key press, but there IS a way
Problem is, to test I have to repro the bug. As you can probably guess it happens very sporadically and this time hid for two whole weeks.
I can do Ctrl+Alt to access altgr functions, but neither ctrl nor alt are reported as held.
Should mention it's left Ctrl and Alt. The right ones are remapped to arrow keys.
which again, leads to the previous comment
