dang
I even had to resort to post on linus' forum
Its very difficult to judge without listening to them
you can also try reddit
it doesn't seem like it has worse specs
What do you think shoukd i risk it with the lite or get the kraken x
I can get both
if you dislike heavy headphones you can go for the lite
you can go for the non lite then
To be honest i dont see why an overwhelming majority of people on reddit say the cloud stingers are better
is it weird that i stack 3 mousepads?
you do you
my wireless charging mat is basically stacking a mousepad on a mousepad
feels fine to me so I don't care
i have an extended one on top of a super long extended one on top of a small one i use for my mouse so that the drop is reduced
I like more drop so I have my mousepad hanging off my desk lol
(for my wrist to rest)
once im level 3, ill send a pic
my setups kind of scuffed
cant post links to the video i made either
@deft sinew here's showing the length of the cables
And with my setup routing the cable around back behind my monitor
Just right for head level
interesting. i dont need to go far at all with mine.
@daring zenith they are the HS60 Pros?
tkl gang
I use numpad for macros
nice
@warm plaza for GTA 5, I make things a bit wacky by using arrows for flying, and using l,./ for phone

:p
Anyone know how long the apex pro has been OOS for?
Anyone have the glorious GMMK? My ducky one 2 mini recently broke 😭 and I want to get another 60% and I want it to be hotswappable this time
How is it? If anyone has it
Seems good, I want to get one.
yeah its decent
Well thats unlucky.
I singed up for the mailing list to tell me when the apex pro came back in stock and apparently it did yesterday at 11 pm and I was asleep and it sold out again already
check out RedDragon, they make good budget peripherals.
if youre going for very cheap, i highly recommend this (its $20 when its in stock) https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-MK270-Wireless-Keyboard-Mouse/dp/B079JLY5M5/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=logitech+keyboard+and+mouse&qid=1587490275&sr=8-8
I’m going for a Logitech g203 prodigy mouse
Figured a better mouse is probably worth a little more than keyboard
logitech makes pretty decent mice
How do I know which switch type I need
the biggest why to tell if you prefer cherry or brown is going someplace that offers a lot of choices and getting a feel for those. some people will tell you avoid this and always choose that but its up to the user what you like
Yeah, go into your local computer store and try them out, that'll probably be the easiest way to tell
I wish they had headphones out on display like they do in Japan
Cuz going into a store and touching things is the best way to stay safe right
😛
however thats the only way to tell between switches
Brown switches are a mix of blue and red, so you can't really go wrong with that
Blue is good for typing
Red is good for gaming
And there are like a million other types too
just wear gloves and a mask
Brown is good for typing and gaming :D
but it's all your preference
its about the sound and feel
Brown and Blue has a click when you press down on it
Reds are linear and there's no tactile click
if you want your discord to hear you click clack and have a hard stiffness or no noise and soft press
good mic then
and someone else with the same exact keyboard has it clacking all the time on discord
I don’t want it to be loud but I like some feedback
it depends on your mic to pick it up
plus discord noise suppression is helping a lot
I’m not serious enough or a good enough gamer to really care
hey you're good at what you do
if thats the case find something that looks good and matches your style setup and boom bada bing
theres a good ducky keyboard people like
It’s more that my hardware has been pretty terrible relative to new setup so anything will seem like an improvement
Wait, what's your budget for a keyboard?
corsair has some really nice keyboards for a relatively low price
brb
i use the K55 RGB and its $50 with 6 macros and changeable rgb lighting
Browns are tactile, blues are tactile + audible click
numpad is good for day to day use
Macros are quick functions
Might as well
Hmm
Can you want a bit?
i can setup a series of types or clicks and assign to macro meaning it can do multiple items at once
The optiplex series by MSI isn’t awful
or does it need to be in stock now?
I think that’s the name
Well I want the biggest size then
I don’t know my monitors
With brown switches
Budget Atlas?
Cheap as possible without getting something that breaks in the next 2 years
Hmm
Idk if I’d ever use dedicated macros
@daring zenith Do you by any chance know how long it would take
Bells and whistles are non essential
I'm not sure
It's on preorder on B&H and out of stock everywhere else
Alright
Honestly if you can spend the money on it a Corsair is the best keyboard
My opinion
But you do you
Mhm
Which model(s) would u reccomwnd
also comes with a wrist rest
The K70 is easily one of the best
i use the K55 and cant compain
complain*
meh. i have a hard type but im a big guy so its harder to be gentle. they are loud if youre forceful
I mean
Super quiet
MX silent isn't exactly mx brown
Mhm
It doesn't have a click but is quiet af
But if you want a quiet keyboard
I can always return it if it’s really annoying
Atlas you should try silent switches sometime you may like them
You need to get used to it tho
Amazon has a really good return policy
I'm still going to suggest a corsair K70 with brown switches.
You mean silents?
sorry yea
ive never had to return anything to Newegg so i cant speak for that
I mean I play with headphones on and they block out a lot of noise
the one you linked had mx silent
I put the wrong color lol
Really just concerned about annoying someone in the room w me
yea my b I meant silent
Especially if I take it to college
Hmm
If your roommates don’t mind it’s fine
(switches)
But if their super picky I’d switch to Mx Silent
if you play spacebar wasd and maybe a couple extra buttons most keyboards dont make much sound
its actually typing it when most sound is made
Ok I’ll consider the k70 but if anyone has other brown switch boards that are cheaper that’d be cool
My old one made mad noise
Hmm with Corsair you get the most customization and its super nice
Cherry MX Browns are ideal
But if you don’t want the customization of RGB and all that
:D
go for gatron clears
gotta stay protected during the pandemic
Lol
Gateron browns are good too
ya
True
People swear by gateron browns, some even consider it better than cherrys
Yea
So complicated
they are more smooth
Okay lemme just lay it out like this.
Switches are based off color, Cherry made them first, so theres ther cherry MX blues, MX browns, etc.
And my spelling is awful
Then other manufacturers started making them, like gateron, but they usually dont make as good a switch as cherry
Cherry is something else
Right now you seem to like the brown switches.
i personally have razer purples
Oh yea with Best Buy the Strafe mk.2 is on sale 50 dollars off making it 100 so it’s an amazing deal rn tbh
So the options are Cherry and others. I suggest Cherry Mx browns, or Gateron browns.
Ok I’ll filter by those
ya
Difference is the browns are slightly louder tbh
I mean, if the switches make a click, it makes a small sound
I have really loud blues
My mom kicked me out the house until I came back with a new one
I know someone with cherry brown switches and their keyboard is quite a lot quieter
Might be because I got a cheapo blue knockoff, but still
my razer purples are really loud
I play a lot of FPS games, I will likely be typing a lot, I don’t wanna annoy another person in the room, and I like having a little feedback from the keys
Browns are just good for that
Ok
Yea Atlas browns and silent
So that’s settled
I'm in the same situation, and that's my plan for the future.
Anything else will make it sound like your committing war crimes
My plan is to get one of these without the switches, and add in cherry browns I buy off somewhere else.
https://www.pcgamingrace.com/products/gmmk-tkl-tenkeyless-brown-switch

DESCRIPTION
GLORIOUS MODULAR MECHANICAL GAMING KEYBOARD
TKL PRE-BUILT WITH GATERON BROWN SWITCHES & BLACK KEYCAPS
Trying out different switches, replacing old ...
Btw is it ironic that I learned how to type from playing Minecraft as a lil kid and raging in chat from pvp
I type at 135 WPM
Toms hardware: good website or bad
Steel series apex 3?
i type at like 70 but i'm still one of the most seasoned typists in my school
also i'm pretty sure the apex 3 and pro both use hall effect switches (google it) and although the keycap mount might be proprietary, the switches are actually very dated and well-regarded technology
Any good cherry Mx red keyboard for under 50?
I type at near 100wpm, not great, not bad
I mean
If you wanna type fast
A keyboard will help
Like
There’s this ergo keyboard
100 minutes per word
LMAO
type
Ima be fr with u
Minecraft chat
And nitro type, the 2 things of my childhood that taught me typing
Both work
Minecraft chat is the only typing practice
Am I the only one who prefers a lowkey keyboard?
I think so, yea.
Wdym by lowkey?
yes
@jovial scaffold lowkey = low height keycaps
for a fairly extreme example, think macbook
Do Lenovo keyboards count as low
I think they call the laptop style keys chiclet
chiclet is the actual name for the style @west hornet but it is not a name that makes "sense" for people that dont know it
and if we are being technical about it, chiclet is a specific "type" of keys, generally used on laptops
Switches or keys?
Heck, is there a difference between switches and keys?
(when it comes to laptops, idek if there's a switch, if the whole thing is one thing if you know what I mean)
there can be a switch
macbooks come to mind again, with their butterfly switches
thats from back in 2015
yup
butterfly switches feel weird, putting aside them failing I'm still not sure whether I liked them or not
Does that use a single piece plastic lever?
The middle portion of the butterfly mechanism
i honestly cannot remember the complete breakdown
but i know there are mechnical drawings around of the switch
so, just google that
anyone know what USB adapter I can buy to connect to a mini SSD Drive. I need to get the files off of it
Thx for the explanation naed
you, as always, are very welcome @jovial scaffold :)
:)
hey guys
Im an fps gamer
soooo
what gaming mouse would you recommend?
My masterkeys lite l mouse is broken
the keyboard is really nice
Not the mouse that much
G pro wireless or G502 hero
Best bluetooth headphones with 7.1 and decent bass under $100 that dont look dumb
with budget I wouldn't recommend wireless, bluetooth has lag, any surround in headphones is trash. stereo is best
maybe something from akg if you want bass?
actually I hear these are pretty good, right at 100 https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-headset
they are open back which is nice but if you have a lot of background noise can be a struggle
Ok, i currently have razer kraken pro v2's, would this be an upgrade?
i really want the razer kraken x
but im too poor
its so expensive
its literally 40 bucks
Yes I would say it is an upgrade
you can take a look at this https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/928765-what-headset-should-i-buy/
Hi, i am PC gamer. I want very long lasting , Solid build and high quality headset . 1) Corsair void pro rgb 2) Logitech G933 3) Steelseries arctis 7 4) Razer Kraken 7.1 v2 5) Sennheiser game one. 6) Astro Gaming A50 Which one should i go for? Which one sound more better? Is u...
Thanks
I really wish there was a good option for wireless open-back headphones.
okay gamers I'm looking for a new headset, I need one with a mic but also has good quality for music too, I actually prefer music quality since i'm a pretty casual gamer. I have the Cloud 2s now but I want to step up in audio quality. I have a sound blasterx G6 as my sound card as well
budget is probably $100-$150ish
I heard the PC37Xs are good but I want opinions, feel free to @ me
whats a good 60 or 65% mechanical keyboard for under 100 cad
why no tkl
should i buy the DIERYA Mechanical Gaming Keyboard 60%
Are the hyperx cloud 2s good for $100 USD?
I have my Astro A40 headset connected to my PC via optical cable and USB, but the microphone that is built into the headset is not working. Any suggestions?
i ordered a usb to SATA transfer tool about 3 months back and it finally arrived today. I tried hooking it up, but its not popping the storage device when i go my my folders or connected usb devices. any ideas?
details
?
there are about a thousand different models on the market
so, as with everything else you have asked about, the more details you can provide, the easier/better we can help you.
i couldnt find the actual one, it was removed from amazon apparently. but the model number is 5YZD.168
you are connecting both usb plugs right?
I'm thinking it's the hard drive, making weird noises, then again I haven't ran a hard drive out of a computer. And yes both USBs
if the drive is "clicking"
then you are out of luck
Yes it's clicking
tough luck
Hard drive bad?
harddrive = dead
Ahhh
K, thanks
And here I was thinking I bought another bad item from amazon
Can I fix it or would it be better to get a new hard drive
nothing for you to fix as such
the time you would need to (most likely) invest in it, makes it so that it is just way cheaper to buy a new drive
Ok
I was planning on buying one eventually originally, just hoped I could save some money
Anyone know sound mixers?
I want to be able to send my mic through the onboard sound effects and then to my computer with out my friends in discord hearing all the system sound going into my board anybody know how?
@merry sundial you around?
someone has a question for you :)
@tranquil lichen he is the one you should talk with :)
Give voicemeter banana a try - it's a free software mixer.
I need help with my mouse
It doesn't work on my pc
It's recognised but it's not working
I'm using it on an old machine
Talking about 10 years old
I am using a linq d27 (i don't have money for something better) and its not working on this machine
But it usually works with other machines
That uses the same 1.0 USB reader
But the connector of the mouse is 2.0
What should I do?
might not be getting enough power
because different adherence to usb spec on that old machine
try and plug it directly instead of through a hub
I'm not using a hub
ah, i thought your reader was a combo hub, because it didnt logically make sense that you would mention it otherwise
No, I mention it like that way because I don't k ow how to call it otherwise
then keep on speaking, because it still doesnt make much sense :)
These not working together
if it doesnt work, it doesnt work
Oh ok
Awww
aside from a externally powered hub, that MIGHT work
sorry mate
best 1440p ips 144hz monitor?
Prob XG279Q
3.5/5 Stars, people have rated it.
anyone have any recommendations for a new headset? left ear on mine just went out 😔
Sennheiser GAME ONE
sennheiser pc37x is also good
so i'm looking to actually get a proper headset and mic setup. right now I just have my cloud 2s hooked up to my G6, but the mic cable is starting to go, so I'm gonna get an actual mic instead. I'm thinking about using the massdrop x sennheiser HD6XX and then getting a blue snowball iCE with a stand and pop filter, etc. what do you all think? I wanna hear your suggestions. feel free to @ me if I don't get back to you, I have a habit of just not checking back lmao
@autumn shard I would recommend the pc37x over the game one, open-back headphones are a total game changer
although they do leak sound, they'll have better positional audio than any surround can produce
nice, i'll look into those later
also, have a serious look at EposVox on youtube for gear reviews by someone that is not a raving lunatic :)
I use the HD6XX with a Schiit magni heresy and modi 3 and i love them
the person who helped me bring my computer back from what I thought was total destruction?
lol
hello @brisk parcel :)
yeah i thought that was you lmao
I was a little unsure about using the G6 with the HD6XX tbh, they can drive 600 ohms but they are an AMP/DAC combo
when not at the actual amp here, i use a centrance dacport slim for my 990's
So I know jack about headphones but I want a new pair of closed back headphones for about 200$. Preferably nothing “gamer”. I hope y’all help me
I have a scarlett solo as well, so i'll test them out on both when I actually get those things lmao
:)
they work better with 1/4" than 3.5mm I believe
@timid field you are both in luck and out of luck
in luck because you have all the time in the world to talk about it
out of luck, because you cannot actually go and try on cans
trying on in person is best
but the fact that the G6 can drive 600 ohms is really good, I know they'll have plenty of power at least
and yeah, they're right
Welp that ain’t happening for a while
nope, sorry!
trying them out for yourself and seeing what works best for you is a must
head-fi.org is also a decent place to read up on "hidden gems" in cans
what do you have "now" @timid field ?
what you could do is possibly look at a few recommendations, get them on amazon and try them out for 30 days, you can return them all and get which one you like best
I had a pair of skullcandy hesh 2 wireless
for the time being you can look up headphones for your price range that are closed back, and where you can go to possibly try them on
They broke so I’m looking for a replacement
so... bs on string?
a cheap-ish set of AKG might be lovely for you
they have a tendency to be around 60-ish
he's got a point lmao, but if your budget is really around $200 i would go all the way
and yes, that might not sound fantastic, but it will give you something that doesnt make you dread putting them on
"not sound fantastic" VS buying a pair of 200 cans
give open backs a try if you haven't already, they're a completely different experience
they will sound like heaven vs the Skullcandy ones
don't buy them yourself, but when you can go to a place where you can try them
The only reason I use headphones is to drown out the sounds of my family
and yeah, they will, skullcandy isn't the best lmao
I love open back but if you have people yelling in background...
ahhh i see
I guess I’ll get some of those cheap headphone for now
you are in the US @timid field ?
Yes
i'm gonna be honest, I have a pair of 1more quad drivers, and they're still better than anything i've ever listened to
:)
they are earbuds, but they keep the sound out really well
I’ll go and try some for myself after this whole virus thing dies down
i know they sell their triple drivers for around $200 I think, you'll love those if you wanna spend the money
good iem's can be really good
i just really really really dont like using iem's unless i have to
but the quad driver earbuds sound better than the TD headphones IMO
yeah they can get uncomfortable after like 4 hours but they also come with a crap ton of different ear pieces to try
Well thx for the advice y’all
i am talking molded @brisk parcel
even then, i just dont "like" it
i will use it, when i have to, but .. yeah ... no!
ah ok i gotcha lmao
@timid field you are very welcome :) and best of luck:) as can be seen by the talk here, its a topic with a LOT of opinions. Just please remember, the only one that actually matters in the end, is yours
this?
@timid field if you get a chance to try these, they're amazing:
https://usa.1more.com/collections/headphones/products/tripleoverear
yeah iTech those are the ones
they are a bit cheaper on amazon
they are, the 1more site was the first on the google search though lmao
they seem decent
tbh people really don't know how much of a difference multiple drivers can have, it's crazy
they're meant for mobile listening more than desktop, but they still work great on a PC too
sure thing! anything i can do to help
though whenever you can get out to try some cans, give some open backs a listen, just for the experience
you won't regret it
i'm ready to fall in love with my 6XXs as soon as I get my refund from amazon lmao
lowkey hoping thermaltake gives me a refund too 😂 one can only hope
Anyone have experience with a amazon refurbished mouse?
I’m poor and am looking at the mm710 refurbished because it’s 34$ instead of 50 and just wondering what to expect
Just buy something off of offer up or craigslist
I've had bad experiences with used stuff on amazon
I've heard poor things from amazon refurbished products
I ordered it but I figured if it’s bad or from the first batch before they re did the qc I’ll return it
And since the new one is on sale I’ll save up a little more
ok your choice
np
@green drift Just get it. Amazon renew stuff is almost always great. Just contact them with any issues and you'll get a replacement/refund. I've bought a mouse and some other stuff like that. I'd highly recommend it if it's a good deal
Alright thanks
can I plug this into my wifi card
is memory express a reliable place to buy keyboards?
@green drift is it Amazon renewed or used/refurbished
@calm cobalt Its renewed mb
any one got an opinion on Rosewill Mech gaming kb?
why rosewill
cost
I have this: https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-Programable-Resistant-Anti-Ghosting/dp/B01EJ0ZHS6/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=e-element%2Bz77&qid=1588199023&sr=8-1&th=1 but in white. You can find models like this for around $35-40
Hey. I'm selling my Oculus quest for 450 if anyone is interested
@upbeat hedge read the rules please
n o s e l l i n g
does anyone know a sitr i can buy optical red gaterons from
any recomendations on a wireless headset for pc ~$200 or less?
depends wireless or wired?
wireless
i need something wireless that has a reciever of some sort so that i can connect straight to my pc. i.e logitech g533
not just bluetooth connection
oh idk then
hey guys Im having some trouble with my mic/headset
whats up @slate cosmos
@frank shore I wouldn't go with skullcandy. I have a long history with them. Products are cheap and service is poor at best
If you can, I'd go for some Bose qc II or something from Shure. They are brands that actually care about their customers
I recently bought a refurb Turtle beach Elite Pro Headset Direct from Turtle beach I'm happy with
@hazy fiber I took the leap on some steelseries arctis 7s. I've had good experience with steelseries in the past. And it was the most readily available option at the moment
Have had them set up for like an hour and already fallen in love with them
Alright, cool :)
How do i find out if my usb port can utilize a dongle with HDMI, VGA, 2x USB A ports, and an Ethernet jack all at the same time?
It says on the laptop thay it's "USB 3.1"
are akko keyboards good?
@frank shore used pair of Sony xm2 and buy a Bluetooth dongle.
akko keyboards are decent
Hello, I'm looking for a good tkl mecanical keyboard (preferably wireless) any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you.
Hey everyone, looking for a new gaming headset. I've been looking at the SteelSeries Arctis 1 (Wireless), Razer Nari, and Corsair Void Elite. Any suggestions?
My suggestion is to not get an expensive "gaming" headset. Get a good studio one
@left hawk the problem i was having was the signal from the dongle i was using was very inconsistent. i liked the solution i had but the signal was spotty or the 2 sides would desync and id get a flutter effect
but im pretty happy with these arctis 7s
If you get a decent dongle and headset the signal wont be spotty
@green drift renewed is good
@hallow basalt RGB or no? Any switch preference?
@pale star i use the Corsair Void Elite RGB and I do like it, but i am looking to get another HyperX Cloud II wired headset when i get some $ put back. I just prefer the feel of the ear pieces over the Void
@calm cobalt Alright thanks
@pale star I use the SHP9500 and the VMODA boom pro, but the SHP9500 has gone down in quality since release so idk if i can reccomend it
I appreciate the help! I'll have to keep digging into them all and wait for a deal to pop up! 😄
g502 proteus spectrum vs deathadder elite
G pro wireless
G pro wireless
Best budget freesync 144hz monitor??
might get more luck in #old-monitors-and-tv
I'm having clicking issues on my G pro wireless
It's not double clicking but the sound is not right, and I'm not sure if anything happened with the actuation distance on the switch
yeah idk what's wrong
I might have screwed up the omeron switch a bit
I guess I click pretty hard when I'm tilted
I think the switch is fine since no double clicking
well the spring on the switch
Does actuation force feel different?
no
well it feels different
but it sends the signal at the same place
might make it so that i can't click as fast
and it also could get more damaged from me using it
it took a whole month to arrive though and also the price of the mouse went from $150 to $200
@hazy fiber rgb preffered but not necessary, and as for switches clicky or linear are great. thanks for the reply
I like linear
I personally use a k95 platinum xt with MX brown. I love them. What's your budget @hallow basalt
huh the mouse fixed itself
well ok no problem anymore
maybe the spring readjusted itself
@hazy fiber 100-120 or less
soo, i love my deathadder elite but its starting to fail.... should i just get a new deathadder elite or the v2 version?
@hallow basalt
You can get a k95 platinum for about $100 on ebay (used with cherry mx speed)
There are cheaper, also rgb options with corsair if you don't need macros, a numberpad, or per key rgb
I think Razer makes sone pretty nice ones too.
It's hard to tell you what to buy. Switch preference is a personal thing, thought cherry mx are standards. I would just decide what features you want, and look for a deal on one.
I'd recommend you check out the k95 platinum on ebay if you want all the features. I'm a fan of corsair support amd say it has some good value. Otherwise, look at razer's lineup, maybe an rog board and find a deal
@hazy fiber thank you for the suggestion i'll look into it
I honestly wouldnt buy a used keyboard unless it is thoroughly cleaned
I'd say saving $100 is worth a little time cleaning
can anyone help me with a custom keyboard? Need it to be hot swappable and not cost too much.
GMMK
kbdfans has some nice kits for hotswap but mainly 60-65%
@young vine are you being enslaved?
oh
🙂
🙂
I know this doesn't relate to computer peripherals, but how is this microphone? https://www.amazon.com/CVM-V30-LITE-Microphone-Super-Cardioid-Jack(Black)/dp/B07DWS7TRY/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1QVYKLMU66G8J&dchild=1&keywords=canon%2Bmicrophone%2Bfor%2Bcamera%2Bdslr&qid=1588608471&sprefix=canon%2Bmicrophone%2Bfor%2B%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExOUZKNjRFQ1hGUjBYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTY3NzI3MlAxUFlVTDI4V0I0TyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMzIzNzE3MlFITzlKSjkyWDlSSSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1
It was like $50 at the time and I've actually gotten compliments for good sound quality
I pre ordered a drop alt and im so excited for it to come in
but i have no money for the sakurios i planned to get but ill get them later, for now i will use the extra MX blacks i desoldered from my broken one 2 mini
and i ordered krytox 205g0 so i can lube them and the sakurios later whenever i buy them
AND i can use the one 2 mini's stabs and lube and band aid mod those for the drop alt since its stabs are kinda doodoo
cant wait for it to come
and im gonna paint the alt's case and integrated top plate with white plasti dip to match with my all white setup
lmao
what about that huge razer keyboard at ces one year
Yeah is it?
@sturdy barn I need to know does it click like real blues?
i sincerely hope it honks like a ford T
Please we need to know
gamers idk what to do
part of me is saying that just getting the pc37x is good enough, but I really wanna jump on maybe a 58X or 6XX and get a mic like a blue snowball
what do you guys think? I know the 58x and 6xx are leaps and bounds above the pc37x, but i'm just not sure about what I should get
@brisk parcel go and have a serious watch of some of the stuff on Eposvox's channel on youtube
will do, thanks! anything specific you wanna link me to?
I hope the keyboard I wanted comes back in stock soon
@brisk parcel not really, just have a listen to some of the mics he uses as a start
it should get you an idea about things :)
alright cool, will do 👍
@daring zenith Yes, it also has connections to work as an actual switch would.
please take a video of you pressing it
Yes please, I wanna hear it
we’re begging you

I've been looking into a MIC for streaming I was thinking the Neweer NW-800. I'm looking for one that is 3.5 instead of USB since I'd like to utilize my soundcard Just wondering thoughts on what's good. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XBQ8UGG/?coliid=I2MGF7K3KY3IGG&colid=14Y2TIU38DEZ2&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I don't know much 3.5mm mics but I do not recommend buying a xlr mic and using it with xlr to 3.5 cable
if you get a xlr it should be with an interface and with a condenser like that neweer, a interface that has 48v phantom power
Yeah I've heard that too. I thought, not sure, that you can us the xlr to phantom and then an xlr to 3.5 and it's fine but I'm not 100% certain of that's how it works.
@errant seal i use the blackwidow ultimate 2016 version, got it for 11 dollars, id say its solid
Hi. I’m looking for recommendations for a big gaming mouse. Currently have the rival 310 and it feels small
I have big hands and the g502 hero, I like the way it fits in my hand
I've had my G502 for over 4 years and counting, should i keep using it till it dies or consider getting an upgrade soon
the g502 I had was giving me issues without a second thought after emailing them they sent me a new g502 hero. All I did was email them and say a button wasn't working. right the middle mouse button. Might be worth looking into!
Any cheap keyboard ideas? I’m trying to see if I can keep a little more money to add another stick of ram but I can live without 16 if anything
@boreal cove thanks
np
Here's the keyboard I keep hoping will come back in stock:

Could someone help me pick out a new router? My current one is running slow and considering the times, we want it to run fast. However, I have no idea what to look for as in compatibility so could someone help
what is your current internet speed cap
a mesh network would probably be a good bet to reach 4 floors, but the ones i've seen are expensive. you don't really need a expensive router for 30mbps
Oh sorry no thats what I gte rn, not the limit
100
and I get more like 20 actually
Im not worried about buying one, I have one in mind. Its the setting up I dont understand
Although idk if the one ive picked is good
what did you have in mind
lemme send
THe main reason is on the forums for my wifi company someone said they used this and it works
The only requirement I see for it is "supports DHCP Option 61 on WAN"
I don't know much bout routers, but i'd say just make sure this has the range you need. if it doesn't you might want to look into mesh wifi systems
I've seen some from linksys, netgear and google
k
oh idk if i’d like that
Guys I need help, blackwidow chroma v2 vs k70 lux RGB (red cherries vs green razer) also have an option of the k70mk2 brown switch. Which one ? Help plz
Depends on personal preference
I like brown switches
So basically, Razer has green (Cherry MX blue clone), K70 has either reds or browns
Fair enough but what about the other features and like build quality
I like Corsair better
Fair enough
Razer software I've heard is absolute crap
Really?
That's what I've heard, for mouses at least
Apparently synapse is lit af
Fair enough thank tou6
those are all different switches, so it depends on which switch you like using
Cherry Blues have a tactile feel, but are quite loud.
Cherry browns have a tactile feel, but are quieter than Blues,
Cherry reds are linear, no tactile feel, but no sound until you bottom out.
The razer keyboard has a cherry blue clone as far as I can tell
I mean rgb software is buggy, i hadn't had a major issue with synapse yet
My friend said it was buggy and couldn't assign buttons correctly on their mouse
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Ik this was a while ago but linear all the way
what is the deference in keyboard between like blue/red/silent/ the other colors
@muted vector Theres basically 3 large categories for mechanical keyboards, Clicky tactile, tactile, and linear. And after that, all the switches under each category are pretty close with little differences.
silent are quieter
that makes sense nuclear. but oo ok. are mechanical keyboards better? and which is quieter. my friend has one but its really loud and i want quietr
Blues are clicky tactile, browns are tactile, reds are linear.
Linear switches tend to he quieter but they also make specifically quiet switches like silent red for example
@muted vector Blues are loud, browns make a decent amount of sound, and reds make little sound.
Yea silents are quietest
oo ok thanks
My omnipoint switches sound amazing imo. If anyone wants ill video it tmr
arent those linears
My are, yes
What switch is soft press with an audible click?
?
Hello friends
I'm looking to purchase a wireless mechanical keyboard
The keychron 2 looks like it might be the champ
but i'm looking for other peoples opinions\
also
what are the best kind of switches 🙂
I dont have a answer to the wireless keyboard thing but switches are all preferences
They're either linear, tactile, or clicky
Theres no "best"
dang
Are you planning to game on it
nah its a productivity thing
but I might switch it over to gaming if i feel like it
Ok then you dont need speed switches or anything
Reds are a solid starting ground
Do you want a loud keybaord?
Wdym by optical switches
pretty sure gateron also makes the optical switches
Hm I see, I'm not rly certain what they mean by optical switches there
but i'd go gateron tbh
Okay cool cool
I'm kind of going for a productivity typing experience
like the kind where it feels like I'm actually working
probably browns
silent no, non clicky yes
but not crazy like my razer huntsman lol
Not rly silent just not clicky
my razer hunts man has the loudest option lmao
I personally don't lol. It drives me crazy after a while
its just for a productibity set up lol
I would go with browns or reds
Reds aren't clicky
its supposed to be a mechanical keybord lol
reds are linear
probably brown then right
blues are clicky
if I want the best mechanical keyboard experience what do you suggest
But just because its not clicky doesn't mean it doesn't sound mechanical
hrm
I think the best starting point is reds if you have no experience with any
You can always return it if you dont like it
the logitech g910
go to bestbuy and try them
im probably going to go browns
for razer it's like razer yellow is linear, orange is tactile, green is clicky
thats what im feeling rn
idk bout the optical switches tho
I like my browns. Briefly tried reds. Both real nice
blue is just too loud
Brows have a good reputation
i think ill go with clicky

cause thats what my razer huntsman has
So blue then
and i think it would be weird to transition from it
Not brown
HMMM MMMM
I can't decice
decide LOL
while im here
does anyone else have any other suggestions on keyboards
Only difference between blues and browns is an additional sound after its pushed
They feel the same
topre :v
Just pick one. If you get a deal, you'll probably not regret it
don't be that guy with blue
lol
But yeah lol
in vc
I say brown but its your decision lol
HMMMM<MMM
Reason: Bad word usage
L
well i'm going for a wireless keyboard
going for a really nice wireless set up
this is hard
i can't decide LOL
i can't decide between the
i'm probably going to get brown switches
But now I can't decide between the full size one or the small one
the k2?
whats the difference LOL
size
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxS30X_unjU the k2 is a 75% and the k4 is a 96 key
Today we're going to compare the different mechanical keyboard sizes and form factors, which should help beginners recognise what's actually available on the market.
Featured mechs :
Full size
- AKKO 3108 V2 Keyboard: http://bit.ly/2UgiDkS
1800 - Drop Shift : https://bit.ly/...
wdym
i bought the k2 with brown switches
idk i just know about expensive keyboards
yea
https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/fmec3h/sgh_tgr_jane_v2_tx_keyboards_matrix_mona/ 2k for a built one right there
What makes it worth 2k @tight pulsar
Does it print money?
I would NEVRR spent that much money on a keyboard lol
I’d ask people to recommend me a mouse but
The Logitech mx2 is already good right lol
Also
Keycap recommendations?
I don’t like the default ones for the l2
What does that mean lol
and tgr are the best in the game, everybody wants them
Why have I never heard of them lol
But why
it sold out in 40 seconds :/

basically why
So they're, "the best" and everyone wants em but why do they want em
super hard to get
But what makes it super special tho
Like is it made out of space alloy or something
the name
The name???
yea
Then wouldn’t getting an equivalent
@jovial scaffold exactly
Yes Nike shoes can do the same thing but Gucci shoes are Gucci shoes
Idk about dropping 2k on a JUST a keyboard
custom keyboards are kinda like sneakers, where they sell out super fast for some and you can never get them again outside of the initial run
Them switches better feel like BUTTER tho if I'm dropping 2k on em
and people drop thousands on old korean customs because of the rarity
Fair
like for OTD (another high end korean maker) old boards its crazy, people spend $6k+ on old boards https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/fzn58i/usca_h_otd_356cl_w_trades_paypal/
Yikes
WHY
Its like a mickey mantle rookie card lmao
I’ll pretend I know what that is
Baseball player
but a lot of people have some sense of money managment
Idk
I understand the value of those kind of things
But with like mechanical stuff
I feel like they have the potential to lose value real quick
yeah i kinda get it but also lmao no i would never spend anywhere close to that on a single thing
I think things that are assigned a value like art are kind of too risky to have
Collectibles are a very risky market
Cause one day it can be worth millions
Then quickly drop price
Like you don’t see a crazy mouse market yet
Right...?
yea
I dont feel to bad about buying my apex pro anymore tho
