You want THONK?
but usually much easier on the ears
if u want quiet id look more into maybe silent switches
they usually have dampeners that make the buttom and topout much quieter
idk if they exist for magnetic switches
I think the switches I was considering were Boba black u4 or something like that?
It's been 10 days, had a lot going on so my memory is foggy
I don't care for the feel just need quiet as possible and a neutral aesthetic finish
After that whether or not it's HE is just an extra if it's there
I like optical/HE, but not really needed it in the last couple years
More focused on a work scenario than a game scenario
Which the wooting would do all but the price is a lot for it
Hence me looking elsewhere
def an option but pretty expensive
ik theres like penguin silent switches or smth and plenty of other cheaper ones by brands like akko
if all u care about is aesthetic and silent its probs best to get smth like a keychron board with silent switches
Hmmm
You know any silent switches that work with that K2 he?
I like the look of that thing
But not the keycaps lmao
I will get different caps
The wooden sides on that look really nice tho, it'll match my Dan A3
I think it's K2 HE?
It's the wooden looking special version with the 75%(?) layout
idk much about magnetic switches
u could probs google see if they exist or not but i got no idea
pretty sure most magnetic switches are compatible
uhhh i don’t think so?
Ah ok
I'm not familiar if there's a whole cross compatibility thing with those boards that can hot swap
Guess that's something I could also look around for
i think magnetic and normal switches arent compatible

Oh yeah but I want it to look as nice as it sounds
most are very plain looking
I normally advocate for stuff like normal keychron but personally I do not vibe with the normal aesthetic they have
I don't like the rounded keys, nor the grey/red theme
Just not my thing
just get a v series keyboard and swap out the keycaps
or u can just buy them barebones
and use ur own switches and keycaps
Hmmge
Oh I see what you mean
Hmmmm I'll have to think about it
Lunch time is over
Thanks for the ideas tho
Was worth it
yep
any good productivity usb c wireless mice?
wait it doesnt even have to be usb c
just wireless productivity
any drawbacks to bluetooth mice?
just latency but really doesnt matter much
lkike noticable?
not really
wait it depends on stuff like polling rate tho right
depending on the kind of productivity youre doing, something like this would be good if youre sitting there for a while
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Vertical-Ergonomic-Bluetooth-Compatible/dp/B09J1TB35S/
Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse Desk life getting you down? Lift yourself up with Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse – a comfy and intuitive wireless mouse with quiet clicks crafted specially for small to medium hands. Available in right and left. Lift’s unique 57-degree angle elevates your wri...
dont have to worry about that stuff if youre just sitting there for productivity stuff, for gaming, yes it kinda matters more
theres also this if you like the trackball on the side
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Trackball-Precision-Ergonomic-Bluetooth/dp/B0877DK2FL/
Meet ERGO M575—a wireless trackball with incredibly easy thumb control. This is the newest addition to the Logitech Ergo series that promotes increased comfort, lower muscle strain, and improved, more natural posture. Forget about sliding around a mouse or moving your arm to move the cursor. The ...
theres also this too if you want something a bit more normal. theres also a cheaper verson of this mouse as well from logi if you dont want this one specifically
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-MX-Master-3S-Graphite/dp/B09HM94VDS/
If you want a side scroll mouse for productivity and don’t care much about shape… here’s the keychron copycat https://www.amazon.com/Keychron-M6-Wireless-Mouse-Black/dp/B0CML668QG/ref=asc_df_B0CML668QG? (Less then $50)
Difference between Bluetooth and dongle type of wireless mice are like, around maybe 10ms
Which is very tiny
yeah i mean it looks p good
ive seen also the mt760 from rapoo
these bluetooth specs wont be an issue, right?
oh I can't send images
125hz @ a claimed 8ms latency?
I haven’t had any experience with rapoo, but I have had tons of experience with keychron. Keychron is a very reputable brand and tends to make great products. I’m sure the Bluetooth specs won’t be a issue on either
is the razer huntsman v3 pro good or is the PRO X TKL RAPID (logitech gaming keyboard)
Recommended would be just to grab a keychron keyboard instead of either of those
ik razer is controversial but logitech i heard isnt bad
I have had a few LogiTech, RedDragon, a XiaoMi and one Razer mice.
So far my favorite has been my Razer Basilisk V3. So far it's been the only mouse to survive 2 years of heavy abuse without issues.
so is it good or no the razer huntsman v3 pro
I haven't used that model specifically but I haven't heard bad things about it.
Both brands are fine, but both don't make good keyboards for the price. If you want the analog switches, Keychron K2 HE would get you that with hotswap and with qmk/via support, and 2.4ghz and Bluetooth wireless, while being $140 instead of $200+
Bridge75 or Rainy75 often gets recommended of late. Very high quality for a low price
Guys for a 5600g truenas server, with no graphics card but has a 800w psu, should I go with a 300w UPS or a 900w UPS?
I’m thinking about the apc 300w UPS but I’m not sure if it’ll ever overload the UPS, but I don’t think it should go over 200w usage, I just want it to go into hibernation mode automatically when it detects a power surge/outage then I’ll manually turn it back on when it’s safe to do so
I cant find one that has usb c
I also dont want to carry around a docking station everyitme
Do you have a kill a watt or similar
^ ye was gonna say if you can measure the output over some time that helps. Ultimately depends on the load and if you want to expand it to other systems
Yeah guys I’m currently stress testing the cpu. On idle, it uses about 60w, during the stress test of the cpu, it uses about 135w
i meant testing power draw from the wall since software monitor doesnt tell the full story, and you may have other devices also drawing power
I have a smart plug that tests it & only the pc is connected to it
Wait so I also have POE switches for security cameras, would outlet -> UPS -> smart plug -> POE Switch be okay? Sometimes I need to turn off only the POE Switch remotely just to reboot the cameras
But maybe I’m just overthinking it, my router is nowhere near the pc tho so I won’t really have a use for the coaxial part of the 1500VA ups
The switches use a combined total of 20w, so if I connect those + my pc to the UPS, they’ll use about 160w at peak power consumption
You wouldn't need a smart plug after a ups for power monitoring since a ups would do that
Unless you're using it for turning on/off
my ups gives these statistics
Wow that’s a nice software to have, so for the UPS itself, assuming like it’ll be used maybe once a month or twice, do you think the battery would last 5 years before having to replace it?
Depends on the type, but most cheaper ups batteries (aka SLA batteries) only lasts around 3-4 years before the battery life is degraded too much
The considerably more expensive lithium UPS will last 10
I don't think there is even a lithium UPS that isn't rack mount
Actually that's a bit of a lie
There are some lithium power stations (you know, those battery banks for camping or whatever) that might have a UPS feature
Some of them are designed to work as a backup as well. Not sure if they are really meant to be 24/7 though
Yeah idk either, also they often don't have a rated lifespan for ups use so idk if it would even be able to last 10 years in that use case
Though it is usually around the same price as a regular ups
Yeah. Those ones I find interesting as a portable multi use backup
Did a little bit of research on products and it seems like ecoflow has an ATS add-on for your house to connect to one of their monster batteries for backup power
Like the ones that store multiple kwh of power
It is all lithium batteries so kinda expected tbf
Still not as expensive as some lithium UPSs rated for servers though
And those I believe have less capacity as well
Well, less usable
I assume they don't fully charge the cells in a lithium UPS to extend lifespan of them
Idk if it's the same with ecoflow or other power stations
And also it's honestly around the same price as buying a large generator and an automatic transfer switch for the generator
And way cheaper than a ng standby generator which needs to get plumbed to a gas line, or a propane standby generator which needs a propane tank (which you might already have, or not) and also plumbed in
Oh yeah if you happen to have an EV, you might also be able to tap power off of it with an adapter
Some ev cars can output 120v from the charge port with the adapter
So you can run like a fridge and maybe some lights during a power outage
And the capacity of that battery is so large that it'll last like a week under conservative use
hey guys what would be an appropriate mic to pair with a schiit magni and HD6XXs
i had previously been recommended an elgato wave 3 wondering if that's still meta
idek if the amp matters cuz i don't think the mic goes into it but honestly i have no clue how it works
probably shouldn't be blind buying something this expensive though
Old modmic, some good lapels are on Amazon cheap, sm7b if you want to spend a fortune with an XLR mixer
Fifine is decent for budget
@dapper adder know any mid range mics?
just go for fifine if you're just going to be on stuff like discord vcs
sounds good
If you have NVIDIA use broadcast
ok
not much point in spending too much on a "good" mic when all you do is discord vcs or game comms lmao
That'll serve as a good "mixer" for BG noise cancelling
yeah i'd imagine
also since i'm here my friend is looking for a wireless headphones with decent soundstage and neutral frequency response for $180
how do i tell him he's never gonna find one
heapdhoens sorry
Closest he'd get to that is used nova pros
alright i'll pass it on
Almost nothing else really gets there
like obviously wired there are options
Yeah fr
Exactly
not made to have good frequency response
i assume for gaming as well, so it needs low latency, that would be a hard sell lmao
nobody uses wireless headphones to mix that's stupid
I would highly encourage him with Senns for a long cable if he can compromise
Many Senns have long cables
you'll never get the right mixing quality
Like 3m
okay thank you
Pc38x for example
me when i need to walk to the other side of the room with my wired headphones on
Competitive to hd560s but with a banger mic
So not far off the 6xx
(i joke but there's actually a use case for music producers ngl, sometimes they walk up to an instrument somewhere in the room and keep their headphones on)
some people even have like a pulley system to take up headphone cable slack but still will be able to use the length of the cable
That's actually genius wtf
lmao
not the exact same thing but people with wired vr headsets sometimes also use a pully system, so they dont keep stepping on their cable
https://youtu.be/9uxpCUVjgM0 here's a vid of somebody doing their diy version
Help support the channel :)
https://www.youtube.com/@Barnso/join
My headphones have a long cable, which is handy for grabbing things off my other desk, but I will often roll over it with my chair which AIN’T good. Is there a way to make something that will keep my headphone cable under control?
i do see some design flaws with this, most notably that it doesnt really allow for moving the cable in any direction without potentially getting off the pully (though technically rectified by putting a wire retainer/guide to keep the cable positioned) but i could see those cable rollers (see attached image) would make the movement more smooth
also this pulley is useless in the case of this since it's not supposed to move, so it isnt required for their design
another method of taking up slack that i've thought of in the past is by using those... idk what they're called but they're string and retractable? like the kinda thing used for the vr headsets?
you could do what gas station does with the hose and do loops kinda to take up slack
not exactly as pictured
kinda like this
lmfao
I probably shouldve posted this earlier but Addice Inc and LGG got a sale going on.
Addice has arc mouse skates for $0.99 ea. shipping for 1 set for me is $4.16, total $5.22
guys do i get 560s for $150 or 6XXs for 170
6xx for 170 sounds dope but both are good
will i need an amp for both of them
both should be at listenable volumes with regular amps, though an amp and dack goes a long way for improving the audio quality
i would go for the 6xx
since pretty much every part can be replaced
without any tools
earpads, grilles, headband foam, headband, cable, even the drivers technically
though you probably wouldnt want to replace the drivers since they are matched at the factory for each pair
Dack
deck
Gooss
dock
Guuse
di-

duck
560s would be my pick, don't need a dac for it
Pretty sure 560s go for like what .. $120 on sale?
to be clear, you can "use" the hd6xx even with the apple dac, though the max volume on that will pretty much only get the headphones to a listenable level
i'm just wondering because currenlty right now hd6xxs are $170 which is pretty cheap afaik
170 is the lowest price it gets pretty much
Unless you buy used
Which is also fine because of how common replacement pads are
You can use any pad from the HD 600 line
Ima vote for the 6xx’s
6xxs have been purchased
any mice recommendations? i have a glorious model o and like the design but have had it forever
and a mousepad too
or a controller with back paddles too ^^ i want a xbox elite series 2 but heard its got a stick drift problem
every controller that doesnt use hall effect analog sticks is going to get stick drift at some point
mousepad recommendation, if you dont know what kind you want, then i recommend xraypad aqua controll II or control+
if you can only buy something at a retail store, then steelseries qck or razer goliath or strider if available
if you have a bit more money to spend, then a artisan hien or zero
mice recommendations, idk what you want. endgamg gear op1 or xm2, razer viper or deathadder, ninjutsu sora v2, lamzu atlantis or maya, logitech g pro x superlight 2, wlmouse beast x/mini. forgor what else is there
scyrox v8 is popular budget mouse rn
you think the best option would be the warranty then? im not familiar with mousepads and texture material etc but id like something that covers a large area as i aim in games using my arm on low sensitivity
If you use a very low sensitivity maybe you'll want more of a speed pad than a control pad
for the controller ye, warranty. iirc microsoft is a bit more friendly than sony is with right to repair so after warrenty you can probably buy parts or send for a repair to someone
xraypad also has different sizes
they have sizes of up to 1200x550 if youre into that
low sensitivity or low dpi?
aqua control II would be the faster of the 2 that i said
ye, just do the aqua control II
think i might go with the 450x400
just measured my desk area should be enough
wait i might be dumb
450x400 is 17.7x15.7 inches right 😅
the pictures on peoples desk look a lot smaller
450mm x 400mm is reasonably sized but it would not be like the size of a desk mat
fyi to yall btw, Aliexpress Xraypad store allows you to customize a massive mousepad, i believe I paid 40$ total
they do on their site as well but i think i paid like $40 for mine but it was during their valentines sale last year? or this year. forgor
dont think their black friday deal is as good this year
is there a noticeable input delay difference in wired vs wireless mic?. and if i plug a wireless mouse in to make it wired would it remove said input delay?
Delay ain't noticeable if it has 1000hz polling rate or maybe 500hz if you aren't a hard-core gamer
We have 4000hz wireless mice available now too
Some wireless mice have better latency than wired
imo for wireless mice i would go 1000hz minimum polling rate if you are playing games
any alternatives to a magni+ that i should consider for 6xxs
are glorious mice bad
i like them but theyre the only thing ive ever known
i have model o but kinda want model d
or another mouse that has holes in it like glorious cuz i like those
is it possible to feel a difference in polling rate hz past 1000
If your monitor isn't even remotely fast enough, practically no
The accuracy between 1K, 4K and 8K can from memory deviate as much as 1% in the form of a couple pixels
If you're minmaxing though, every little bit counts
hmm ok
idk what to get. i heard razer viper v3 pro was good but no sale and expensive
Vv3 pro probably has one of if not the best 8k sensor on the market rn
Which has a greater impact than polling
The V2 pro is also very close to that
Alot of options, you should be fine with a fiio k7 or even k5, though k7 is quite nice with output selection (speakers or headphones, many DAC amp combos including the magni switches output by unplugging the headphones
The K7 also supports balanced output so it can power more headphones than a magni (also has a more powerful amp)
Might still be on sale
Toppinggggg
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004861469804.html not on sale anymore
how do i figure out if its fast enough? my monitor is a msi g272qpf
1000hz = 1ms per refresh
Most monitors have like 1-3ms internal latency, plus the latency between refreshes (500hz = 2ms)
Your monitor is 170hz so 5.88ms between refreshes plus 1ms grey to grey pixel response time
^Rough guide yeah @terse hare

The razer seiren mini is $38
The fifine is like $30 (-arm)
The neat bumblee II is $16
The fifine budget ones are supposed to be really good
I'm not all familiar on which, but it's around that price so you're close lol
ah ok thanks
so if im undertanding correctly going above 1000hz mouse wouldnt do anything for me?
1000 imo is enough for most people
felix has said this before but sensor accuracy matters more than poll rate
A vast majority yes
yeah me neither
Well shoot
Make me
how do you guys determine whats of good quality and what isnt im still new to computers and stuff and trying to learn so appreciate the help
outside of reading reviews from different sources idrk
Reading at least a review a day for a couple years
You're basically in a chat room with several people who learn out of pure curiosity and have done so together for going on 3+ years now lmao
This is a large part of it tbf. The more reviews, the more reliable the data we can see and share.
The more sources, the less bias
that's the only way to know unless you test yourself
manufacturer specs are not good for comparing because not only do they lie sometimes
but their measuement equipment may be calibrated differently, or have different equipment that measures differently, or even have the same equipment but measure it differently
Companies will not show anything bad about their product
Hey our power supply is 80+ gold and hyper efficient for only $60! It did explode a couple times during testing but that doesn’t matter.
I really wish that was an exaggeration but it's definitely a thing that happened
Even better, they were force bundling those power supplies with 3080 and 3090 GPUs, which were notorious for creating the exact conditions that caused them to explode
I personally blew up 3

whats the best mouse rn you guys could recommend thats within a $50-$75 price range
this walmart slop i got rn is gonna drive me insane with the god awful tracking
I like my Basilisk X Hyperspeed for 3 years.
I think most people would mention the G502 which is on sale rn https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Lightspeed-Wireless-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B092CRH1RX?th=1
scyrox v8 (if you can find it in stock) $70, deathadder v3 wired $44, endgame gear op1 or xm2 $55-$75 (theres also wireless versions), some still recommend the logitech g305 $30, fantech aria $70, logitech g pro x superlight (the first one not the new one and specifically in white on amazon) $80 just outside of price range. normal g pro wireless is $67
feel as though im missing another mouse
huh, so it is.... best buy on some crack rn. $120 for black or white superlight 2 but $80 for magenta superlight 2. but for the first superlight its $80 for white but its $151 for magenta for superlight 1
if you dont mind magenta, then do that superlight 2 instead of the white superlight 1 from amazon
alr ill check these out, appreciate yall as always
razer basilisk v3 wired $40, razer basilisk v3 x hyperspeed $50, raze viper v2 $80 just outside of budget
glorious is alright
good deal. just eh company. havent followed them in a while to see if theyve improved on anything
ive heard a lot of good things abt razer viper
the v3 isnt on sale tho and the v2 looks fine ig but has some weird design on it idk if id like
the hump of the v2 is fairly low and the middle is pretty narrow
for me i like the shape but i also have smol hands
are there any non apple earbuds that fit airpod cases?
Maybe knockoff airpods lol
I feel like it's going to breach some patents if somebody legit copied the airpods case design
i do not reccomend buying reps 👍
apple sure does love having proprietary hardware
Oh it definitely does, they're made in china or wherever and sold as fakes
Yeah please don't
oh
i think the cases look cool but i dont want to spend a lot of money
like the custom ones people make
not the stock ones
the stock ones suck
but like the cute pokeball ones and stuff
there are wireless earbud cases for alot of different earbuds
can you recommend some that are common for custom case makers?
Oh, you mean a case that goes around the charging case, not the charging case itself
I was very confused and thought you were talking about putting samsung buds in an airpod charge case or something
i guess so, im not familiar with earbuds
Why do you even need a case case
But your case is in your pocket like 90% of the time
theyre not meant to be looked at, but its still cool to have them look cool
oh
yea
still
just buy like a keychain or smth
Attach a "remove before flight" tag to it frfr
damnn
what is the P that is glowing
checked and couldnt find it
what keyboard is this? i'll check
ik C stands for caps lock but idk anything else
razer huntsman v3 pro tkl
c is caps lock
s is scroll lock
m is macro (only used for macro creation)
g is game mode (disables start menu key
p is for profile switching it seems
i have no clue
how can i use scroll luck on a tkl
the manual makes no mention of what that light is used for like you said
oh wait, looking at the graphics on the keys, looks like these buttons are used for profile switching
you may have somehow triggered a hotkey combination that enables the profile switching
where did you get this info
first 4 i know because i also have a razer keyboard
last one i found because of a reddit post and the manual kinda implies it
though doesnt really mention it
or rather, it mentions the fact it can do profile switching but not what the indicator does
does it mention if it supposed to stay on forever?
it probably isnt supposed to
try pressing page up on your keyboard
to load that profile
or fn + pgup
from the videos tha ti just watrched it looks like its supposed to be on
interesting
yeah idk it doesnt bother me too much but also i noticed there is a problem
when i switch profiles the indicator should to the profile color but it doesnt
yeah i have no clue why it would or wouldnt do that
especially since the manual is kinda useless
are there any good wireless earbuds with tracking for under 50 dollars?
Tracking as in like find my device?
I don't think any of those exist for under 50
Actually
Only the google pixel buds supports Google's find my device
In terms of tws earbuds
There are cheaper earbuds that play a tone to find it but no location tracking ofc
which of the soundcore a20i, p20i and qcy t13 have the tone feature?
oh
nevermind i found out
for cherry switches its an option but there are better options
youd have to dig around a bit more
if you enjoy the board tho and like the white + plus LED redragon is not at all a bad option
that price however is not a deal LMAO
i got a similar redragon board for 40
I have mixed feelings on reddragon. I got one of their boards with my first build and the build quality was actually pretty good, metal plate, good feet, etc.
But one by one the switches started failing
Not sure if they've changed switch suppliers since then
is it hotswap
Yes
The latest low profile design with a 30% lower key height provides the most precision you expect from original mechanical switches, enabling you to react faster to situations and enemies in games. 1.3mm mechanical OUTEMU switches reduce the travel distance and clicky noise while keeping the same signature durability and accuracy.
They call it shrapnel because as time passes thats what it turns into
Its competent for the price yes
sorry i think you forgot to render that keyboard
real
the image makes it kinda look bad
the product images look so much better lmfao
is this fr what youve been waiting months for
ye
aw hell nah
such a gamer now theo
@tight pulsar what switches i put in neo ergo
i got like 3 months to decide
mixing keycap sets
:)
i still got that bag of like 400 greetech browns
never broke any in enough to be worth ot
bro is on to nothing
literally the most basic ass switches 🔥
well ur just wrong then
oh good thank god
i call them reds if im giving advice lmao
sure
nah those suck

yeah i mean they were what i expected for like 4 cents a switch or whatever i paid for them
mhm
you get what you pay for certainly
@queen sigil I decided
Bridge75 HE ver.
And these
Memory foam rest too cos I can ache if I don't have anything soft to put my hands down on
Strange that first pic has really odd compression
Anyway
thoughts on jds labs
no longer sure if i want to shell out for a fiio k7 or a magni+
could just buy an amp aswell idk
From jds the atom stack is pretty popular, often compared to the schiit stack
might you say they're pretty equivalent
cuz i might just get the atom amp because my computer by itself is having a little bit of troulbe driving 6xxs
don't really care to shell out cash for a dac yet
I would say close but many people say that the atom has a slight edge. also that's ok but make sure you have something to plug the amp into. most of these use rca input since it's just an amp
the atom has a 3.5mm in iirc
it says it has both 3.5 and rca so i most likely will be going with that
you could try cleaning it

Ive heard good things about it
Its a lil bit older now tho
Id look at reviews first tho
Deathadder essential is a great choice too for a lower price
Or if you can snag one for 30 to 35 a g305
Essential is wired but cheapest from my memory
Like 20 to 30
I don't know if audio devices like earbuds count as peripherals but anyway
I'm looking for some quality wired earbuds that don't break the bank but I don't know what all these terms like "warm" and "bassy" mean...not an audiophile so should I really worry about that stuff?
"warm" and "bassy" just refer to how the earbuds sound
afaik the de facto brand for good wired earbuds is Moondrop but don't jump on that
apple earbuds
they dont really go in ear so if they dont fit your ear hole shape then big problem
probably not the best i could do for a small budget though
if only phones still included the earbuds in the box
I C this as terrible
did you look into topping
Should I get the fo27q3 for 600$? I want the “best” 27 oled and according to rting it is
Is qd oled text bad?
Nope I have the same panel it’s pretty clear
It’s very pretty 10/10 my second favorite purchase of the year
You have the same monitor?
No I have the Samsung https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/samsung/odyssey-oled-g6-g60sd-s27dg60
Samsung makes the panel everyone uses
He's the younger brother that gets oled hand-me-downs btw
I feel like this must be said
Lol nah I bought this one
I believe you
I only get gpu hand me downs

I said jk

i need a pair of hd660s or my life will never be complete 😔
noty yet
You get used to it but I wouldn’t say it’s good either
It’s much better on woled
neo lineup go crazy
fr
keyboard prices have changed so much over time
over covid entry level dropped like 50%
Yea it's insane how much cheaper they can produce em
Ik someone who is a ghost designer and it's dirt cheap for em to make
paid 110 for the 67 lite 4 years ago
now u could get something liek that for like 40$
fully built
Only downside is a lotta projects for smaller designers are hard to run now
no keybord really special anymore
same
but I wanted a silent keyboard but didnt wanna turn my qk65 silent
and the neo ergo lookin mad sexy
You still game ?
not much
Hall effect keyboards lowkey go crazy
I always got one sitting on my desk ready to go
well half that stuff lowkey just cheating
tarkov the only shooter i been playing "recently"
and that games movement so clunky it doesnt matter
theres always like keychron or whatever if I want an HE keyboard
just wait a year before keychron releases tented alice for 100$
Keychron always screwd up alice layout
fr?
im mixing keycap sets from DK so i hope it dont turn out real ugly
Don't have the sb kit ?
the what
Reasonable for this economy
I haven't looked at the key cap side of the community
Has that gotten better
idk i havent been too invested
pbtfans still selling sets for like 75+
for the most part i think sets are still the same price as they have been
while aliexpress kits still like 15$ for 99% of the same thing
unfortunate
gmk kits still 100+$ 💀
I don't think they'll ever drop
Unless geon mass produces some for his shop or something
i love waiting years for keyboards to arrive
Ye I don't think I can do that again
erg kits are funky to me
happy to say I never did
Ye there's a reason why they're not so common
worst thing that happened was like kumamech
where i ordered accents that was like eta a couple months
then it got delayed like a year
Insane
then the company changed names and died
The amount of vendors that robbed everyone
and the accents were warped lol
Towards the end of my kb hobby, I was jus getting stuff custom made
so my wait times were like 2 months max
i sold the 67 lite to a friend for cheap
i lowkey shoulda taken out the holy bobas that were in them
i actually really liked those
and i 100% dont have the patience to make and lube another set of those
thank god for prelubed switches
Do you have any other rabbit holes you're in now?
Still trapped i see
too poor to really get into those
i got into arcade rhythm games
stuff like sound voltex, DDR, In The Groove, etc
I remember you buying some type of game pad last time I was active here
yeah its like an replica arcade controller
this thingy
home controller for this game
I know this is a weird question but the pg27aqdp has a lot of input lag on 60hz according to things is this a firmware issue or just a unit monitor issue?I play on console sometimes that’s why it’s quite important to me
You don't have to run the monitor at 60hz
Also the increase in latency isn't so horrible that you would feel it
Maybe only in competitive games
@dapper adder @shell niche
Note the wording
Input lag at fixed 60hz
If you turn on VRR, it's not an issue
True, but the monitor also has "horrible VRR flicker"
Mmmm, can't win em all
Most woled's have that problem
The other easy answer is to just play in 120hz mode
5.3 on vrr flicker
you guys are so helpful
Again, common OLED issue
Just play in 120hz+ on everything
i dont use vrr tbh
Or yeah try vrr
See if you're ok with it
Either or, as long as it's not locked 60 you're fine
Yeah I had to go check the number though because I just saw red (not blood) while looking for the 60hz performance

So this implies variable fps
The 60hz responsiveness on that screen is fine though is the funny part
Just don't lock it to 60, easy rule

i play d2 a lot and ark which is 60 hz i should be fine yh?i just dont like 32 inch monitor which are the alternative they cost so much more here because they are 4k
D2 supports 120 in multiplayer
Just enable 120 on your console and use vrr in the console settings
That should minimise input lag
yh the pve mode which is 95 percent of the game is 60 hz
Wait how did I see 5.3 I just looked again and now I see 4.7
was I just blind LMFAO
If you have PC btw for a screen like that, D2 runs on a toaster pc
120+ is ez
yh right
I used to get 1440p 120 out of my old 1080
Ultra?
It was pretty cranked
Probably changed a fair bit now but not enough to revolutionise the demand
I'd know if they did lmao
what about the lg 27 240hz?is it a good alternative its 200usd cheaper in my place
Go even cheaper
Ktc OLED is often sub 600
Near 500
Same panel as the LG
Comes with a better IO
lg 27gs95qe-b this
Yes
The ktc uses the same panel
The koorui one is quite nice too as is the aoc
Or if you're baller, fo27q3
cant go qd oled my room is bright and color fringing is a problom fr me
like the text clarity
QD OLED is the opposite
Woled has the problems vs QD oled
The ones you're describing
Quantum dots fixes it due to different sub pixel layout
Also if your room is bright I'd suggest against OLED altogether honestly
If you aren't regularly keeping brightness low, you risk burn in
Anything over 350 nits needs careful care
And not the same constant game for hours on end
compered to w oled i have lg c1 and its amazing even in bright room i tried the fo27q2 and it was really bad in my room it had purple tint looked like ips and white text had some serious color banding my lg c1 doesnt have that at all even tho colors on the qd oled were better its just a dealbreaker fr me
Gen 1 QD OLED had issues
Gen 2 you won't see things like that
OLED you will definitely have sub pixel issues
But if you want a bright screen for fast fps
Get a fast IPS with ulmb2
They don't look as nice but they won't burn in like a woled would in a bright room
480Hz+ULMB2+Fast IPS ≈ 240Hz WOLED/QD-OLED
i still want w oled more i think
How does a mini led compared to a qd oled
Other than like no burn in and whatever
I know miniled has worse contrast but idk how much worse
Miniled is LCD with arrays of mini LED backlight for local array dimming
OLED is oled
Like qd-oled but betterworse
Usually worse
But significantly better than any other panel that isn't oled

Depending on how many local dimming zones there are
Took the words out of my mouth
Highly recommend
Best panel in the price range by a mile
Yeah i bought an ips panel like 2 months before i started seeing that thing pop up
Was.. rough timing
I only have one monitor so i have every reason to pick that thing up
Dual monitor setup and id make that led my main
Technically speaking
And I mean very technically speaking
If you can make a circuit board to replace the original circuit board and you put arrays of mini LED panels to replace the backlight of your ips panel and program in the logic to dim the appropriate locations according to what the display is showing at a low latency and everything that a whole r&d team has worked on for months or years, you could convert a regular ips display to miniled
Then you could add an OLED layer
Oh and bezel-less
Give it a better heatsink
Upgrade the ports

Who does this
This isn't keyboard enthusiasts yo
Don't forget to pay HDMI for the royalties
Yeah i would love to do that but im also insanely talented at not being able to do things
I mean, didn't dell or whoever do like dual displays to get better contrast ratio
Somebody was like "yeah this is a great idea" and spends several million on r&d on a failed product
oh it wasnt dell, idk why i thought it was dell
it was panasonic
same. actually somewhat tempted to sell one of my monitors and go miniled
@neon root
ACII @neon root
what design did you put on the pad?
plain black

designed pads in the 2000s left a bad taste in my mouth because of sensors in mouse were bad
Recommendations for a budget microphone? 50-100 dollars would be perfect
Fifine something
Though $100 might actually get you something quite good I just forget the name
^
I think you need additional stuff for the sm57 tho
Probably a dac or something id assume
This is the fifine setup I'd recommend.
https://www.amazon.com/FIFINE-Microphone-Condenser-Streaming-Youtube-A6T/dp/B09Q2ZZGH2/
A6T is a USB gaming condenser microphone kit, featured with automatically gradient RGB, tap-to-mute and mic gain knob. Streaming microphone with boom arm plug and play for computer/PS4/PS5 as well as MAC OS/Windows. The gaming PC mic for computer laptop presents clear and smooth sound, which clos...
Big links means big savings ong ong
That is pretty hard to beat for 50 bucks
Yeah
And the arm can be reused with a nicer mic if you ever decide to upgrade
Just know that for game chat and discord the bitrate is low and a nicer mic isn't going to sound much better than the fifine
Lol yeah i noticed with my pc38x
Its a middling headset mic but good enough i can tell
If you're recording and editing content that's when you might consider a nicer setup
Sounds good
And if you already have a decent headset mic you could also play around with voicemeeter (free) to see if that would work instead of a whole new mic
Over covid when I had a lot of discord and zoom calls I used voicemeeter with my Razer headset mic
Got multiple compliments on it
The original Sennheiser PC37 and PC37X are still legendary gaming headsets but now its being made even better with the Drop + Sennheiser PC38X. With the PC38X availability right now and its price being higher than the PC37X, is the PC38X worth it versus the competition that's becoming better and better these days? Also can we solve the PC38X ...
Skip to the mic test if you want
Thats what im working with now
One notable one was some kid (who I didn't know at all) in one of my classes DMing me over zoom to tell me I sounded like swaggersouls
W/ a pop filter
Thats beautiful lmao
that seems like a good enough baseline that a little voicemeeter tune could be fine. But the fifine arm combo is also good value, up to you.
The shure sounds really nice with a windscreen dang
I think this is the vid i used
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEd7jw0uNE4
Voicemeeter, Voicemeeter Banana, and Voicemeeter Potato are extremely useful apps for any Windows user... however, they are so complex very few people stick to using them. In this video I explain how to setup Voicemeeter Banana with EarTrumpet and the Virtual Audio Cables to have a virtual mixer on your desktop computer. This is by far the quick...
Ill try it
Might be better to save that money on something else tbh lol
Still would love to grab a dedicated condensor at some point tho
get a fifine and call it a day
cant be beat
the mic arm usually sucks pretty bad but i mean who cares
its 40$
for a mic and arm
if u do end up getting a heavier mic or something nicer i would upgrade to a gas spring like a the compass
depends how much moving around u do
The 38X mic is excellent
Tbh I'd suggest mixing software
Yeah joe was on the same page there
I'd put it up there with like a mod mic? Very very good, you just need to play with it, maybe noise treat the room a bit, get desk pads to avoid desk reverb
Stuff like that
You can have an excellent mic but crap sound treatment and it can sound worse than a $20 amazon no name mic that has a quietened room
TIL Logitech still uses the same switches in every mouse
The same double click prone omrons
My mind just gravitated towards "Avoid"
Felix will remember that.
I've been told a few times that they've had revisions, turns out that doesn't matter

It's easy enough to change or repair the switches
What’s a good controller for pc? Not for fps but for single player games
I wont get stick drift?
If you pick their hall effect ones you're much less likely to get drift
Bet, thanks
For casual stuff I'd reccomend 8bitdo (doesn't have rear paddles). Ultimate 2C model has hall effect and is like $30
Oh it does have an extra set of bumpers though
Hall effect sticks get drift?
Also i own the 2c and i love that thing, stupidly exceptional quality for the price
My only issue with it is the triggers feel a bit cheap, theyre still responsive tho
Id actually recommend it over the regular pro controller, its only weakpoint is 8bitdos miserable software and driver support
Ooo this is a good deal
Inside on left has damaged foam but that could be fixed pretty easy
Also its an hour and a half drive
Im tempted to message ngl
That price is alluring
Its christmas list time, meaning my family is asking for lists, i want some perpherals, i would like a new keyboard, preferably full size creamy ish sounds, i dont want to mod it either. Perferably staying to the left side of $50, maybe at 50 or a little over that would be okay
💀
Well really any bad enough damage can misalign one, or gunk build up
Human use
Lmfao
not too sure if gunk buildup would cause it, but permanant magnets arent actually permanant either
If I stuff my skin down the side of one opening of a controller I can guarantee I'd cause stick drift
But what do I win from doing that nothing
Only a hospital visit
Or I could be more sane and use copious dust
though hall effect sensors are way less prone to any sort of drift, due to it requiring a relatively strong magnetic field, as compared to the... i dont think they're called hall effect though they do use the hall effect physics that are more sensitive to the hall effect sensors lmao
most modern controllers have a sensor calibration thing built in anyways so any "drift" that you may encounter with hall effect due to any changes in the magnetic fields or whatever would be negated, at least once you run the calibration
which is also kinda why not all controllers are able to get a drop in replacement with hall effect joysticks
like the xbox one controllers, those dont have an easy way to recalibrate the joysticks
but microsoft added that functionality for the series controllers
I just refer to Murphy's Law here tbh
While they're advertised as "Won't happen", never say never
Lol
oh it definitely wouldn't "won't happen"
maybe it won't happen before you break the controller completely
but permanent magnets do slowly lose magnetism
though tbf even without intentionally breaking the controller, the controller would probably be worn out by the time the magnetism gets too weak? i mean, it takes like a century for neodymium magnets to naturally lose magnetism by half
True
True
Hiya should I get a new Viper V2 pro for 80 bucks or a refurbished Viper V3 pro for 100? Or maybe other options?
Both got very good sensors so if you want something pretty much endgame those are good
V3 is a little better, if you feel that's worth it
V3 pro for context
V2 pro is just a tiny bit more jittery but still very very good compared to the competition
I do suggest loading up the buttons how you prefer in synapse then uninstalling (nuking) that software tho, avoid any combos that need synapse open
Here's what the competition looks like:
(EDIT: The less smooth and close to the blue line that the aqua lines are, the less stable)
But ofc this depends on what's comfortable to you
This is under the assumption you like the shape of a viper, if you don't know? You might want to go to a store or ask around regarding your hand and grip shape
I have a friend I can test the viper V2 shape although no easy way for the v3
For the reviews I've seen I belive it's fine
V2 v3 same shape
Isnt one of the main differences the shape change?
Oh you know what I'm wrong
Nvm
They did change it
They went to the newer mouse button design
Also to mention
Looks closer to a DA v3 now
For the 80 dollar price the V2 does not come with the hyperpolling dongle
Ah yeah fair enough
If that interests you v3 then
In objective terms that's a worthy point of suggestion
Just make sure you're pretty comfortable with that sort of shape
I realise you said you can't test but returning exists

Yeah I can't I'm having a friend order one from the us and then bring it here
So yeah....
Yeah Balkan doesn't really like to have options
The V3 pro is never in stock
And I'm not spending 150 on a mouse anyway
Fair enough
Original plan was to get a V2 but then I saw the refurb v3
Well if you can verify your hand shape is pretty good for these then I don't really see why not
It shouldn't be much different from the v2, more comfortable I would say
Just make sure viper is a good fit for you cos a comfortable hand >>>> a good mouse
There are other mice that are comparable
Yeah I'll check out my friends viper 8khz for shape
Rtings says it should be fine
In a mouse specific discord everyone just kept sending me ultra fingertip micr
That are tiny and unusable when not fingertipping them
I mean I want my mouse to be comfortable when I'm just browsing not only when I'm hardcore gaming
Totally agree
Thanks for the help man, im leaning onto the V3 for now even though it's refurbished. One guy told me the V2 feels a lot worse without it's hyperpolling dongle
I'm gonna be real
The extra polling is not gonna be noticeable at all without some insane high fps rate lmao
4000Hz can be divided into your fps
So if you play a 144fps game, your mouse is updating it's position 4000/144 times
Which is like 28 odd? Times every frame
We are however talking in accuracy terms here but the V2 sensor wasn't wildly inaccurate at 1K polling
It's not as good as the v3 but it's very close
So some 28 chances for both mice with 99%+ accuracy to update themselves every frame leads into the world of overkill lol
I'm not saying it's not worth doing, more accuracy, better response is a good thing
But anyone saying they can feel the difference in what is essentially 0.025ms jitter has the reflexes of the actual divine 💀
I would say the V3 is worth it but not because of what that guy told you lmao
305 is pretty good value for your money if you need a wireless mouse
Not sure about the 502 though
Idc much about wired vs wireless
Honestly wired might be a bonus, not having my mouse die mid game
Well, you will get a low battery warning
My orochi v2 has one and it's a very unnoticeable red flash considering my hand covers the light
Like, for me, after it warns me of low battery, it takes another like 2 weeks of use before it dies
And that I don't tend to look at my mouse in a game lol
305?
I might not need a mouse but mine might be dying
So im looking at some options
Of course, I use it at a lower polling rate than most gamers, I have it set to like 250hz or whatever the lower but not lowest setting was
And yeah 305
I use it for my laptop
Cool, ty for the info
His point wasn't that 8khz is better. He said he used it at 1khz he just said latency was much better with the hyperpolling dongle
I'm not even gonna run it at 8khz anyway
Depends which shape you like more and what you use it for

Ok I can believe that yeah
Fair enough
But the v3 pro having lower latency than most wired mice is still crazy to me
Only a 1ms response time to clicks
Telling you man
Razer is goated af if you ignore the software side of things

The software, ass, long recognised fact
But the mice, amazing
They were born by the mice, they intend to die by them too
Shame they didn't commit to gaming phones the same way, those old RP phones were amazing
Literally the two best things they made imo
Rest is meh or barely noteworthy
They software is great in customisability if only it wasn't a memory hog
The keyboards are quite good
And I like their headphones but I am switching my keyboard soon enough
I've used it all man, trust me, the best parts of razer are the mice alone these days
The keyboards are getting better but they are still wayyyy overpriced for what they give
The best combination imo is the mice but ditch synapse completely, use WDL for any rgb
I used to use everything razer
I got woken up out of the nightmare
I say all this even with their newest stuff
Good example, my $20 KSC headphones have better audio than most of all Razer's headphones in the last 5 years
Only headphones I can't confirm that for are the new V4 Krakens (Good lord the price tag) or the Barracude chroma specifically
The rest I have hands-on experience with
And a bit of reading tells me they still aren't quite up to scratch
Kraken v4 pro maybe, but still lacking for that price cos jeez
Keyboard wise, I'll leave that one pending
I have a new board coming in a few days, I'm retiring my modded huntsman mini analog
Long never advocated for these but I'm moving on to something that should be way better
Spent a ton modding this thing too to make it even a bit nice
I'm gonna get a madlion 68he to replace my blackwidow v3
And I wanna get a proper audiophile setup to replace my blacksharks
Like a 100 dollar amp/dac and some open backs
Based
Yesss
Go get a Topping DX3+ Pro and a good pair of some nice vetted headphones
Open backs you can get Senny HD's on sale quite regularly
Koss make some nice stuff
With a DAC you can look at DT's
I think also audeze?
Hifiman
Much better choices
Even IEMs
If you don't mind in-ear headphones ofc
Some IEMs can have phenomenal sound and you don't spend nearly as much for the set comparatively
Though I couldn't give good suggestions there 'cos I have tried them too many times myself and never gotten comfortable, so I just don't buy them anymore
Others here would have good suggestions for that tho
God that sounds so much better than a LOT of razer keyboards and it's only $40

I'm tryna sell my blackwidow V3 tkl for the same price as one 😉😉
That's gonna sound nicer than a v3 from memory
