Can we pin the eloshapes website pls
Very useful tool to streamline suggestions
I'm thinking about trying the HarmonicDynes x Zeos Eris, but I'll need a new dac/amp to drive it. Should I get a schiit magni with internal dac which just has unbalanced 6.25mm and use some funky way to convert 4.4 to 6.25 or should I get a fiio k7 with 4.4 out? Price would be the same.
Those are closed back 4.4's?
Semi open back with only dual 3.5 to 4.4mm supplied
looks closed back but I'm guessing the side little vents things make it semi-open back?
I've had this schiit fulla for ~3 years and the usb port is getting a bit lose and it's taking some finagling every time I move it to get audio from it so I'd prefer getting something new
Genuinely curious, at 32 ohms and 4.4 balanced, seems like my iFi would handle them
Ahhh, gotcha
I was thinking about getting a zen dac but uh it's $230 now so I might as well either go schiit or fiio
Holy what>?
I love the "best dac under 200" awards and it just says $230 right there
LMAO! yeah, I still have my V1
Yea that does have 4.4 out
I also have a Zen Blue for my stereo downstairs
Ordered it by accident the first time, decided to keep it and use it with my home theater
fair enough
but I feel like fiio k7 or schiit magni with internal dac both have better amps, just by spec, Schiit Magni does 2500mw at 32ohms, Fiio K8 does 2000mw balanced at 32ohms, and then there's zen dac listing just 300mw at 32ohms lol
I'm running 250 ohm Beyers right now and they're still banging. How hard do you want to blow out your ears lol?
quite a bit lol
I know it's not just volume though it's also clarity
However, the Burr Brown in the iFi is said to be the best DAC, or at least it was. NOt sure if anyone else is using it
part of the allure of the eris is the bass, I want a lot of bass along with everything else
but yea it all differs depending on who you ask when it comes to audio
I've got 3 or 4 different firmware files for the iFi to change the sound.
If the other two are cheaper, I'd go with one of those but I ain't the person to ask
Pretty sure you can't go wrong with either, Fiio and Schiit are the go to's
I wanted to go with schiit at first, but having to do funky stuff to get from 4.4mm balanced to 6.25mm unbalanced is probably not worth it, and k7 supporting 4.4mm might be the better option but I'm not as familiar with the k7
Anyways in general most headphones won't need more than 300mw at 32ohms, but something like planar magnetic might take up to like 1w, but shouldn't need anything further than that
I'm guessing the eris will be fine on zen dac too
I'd go with something that has a 4.4 balance plug so no conversion but that's me
It can get wonky
@west hornet are you familiar with zen dac 3?
In fairness
It says best under 200 quid
Not dollars
Sneaky
☠️
V2 is still under $200
I wonder what changed under the hood
I see
Other than that not a whole lot
Still the same Burr Brown processor
and XMOS audio processor
The main plus to all the iFi units is they can be powered just from USB without an external brick
Hence the lower output power
what equipment would i need for dt990 pro 250ohm
I have an Mtrack solo but I think I'm going to need an amp
I think m track solo is only going to let you use the port for listening to playback of your microphone or whatever you plug into it so you probably need a separate dac anyways
Can get schiit magni unity with internal dac, can get zen dac v3, can get fiio k7
? i currently plug my headphones into it via 3.5mm aux
idk mine only gave me playback of the mic when I used it
weird
usually they allow low latency monitoring and listening to the backing track or whatever audio from the pc at the same time
also afaik the m track solo should have a dac for headphones or powered monitors
but yeah, it's probably not going to provide enough juice
We will see i guess
you could either go the route of just getting an amp and connecting that to the m track, or you could get a seperate dac/amp
I do not have the money for that 💀
yeah you should try first
though usually, even if the dac/amp is able to make the volume loud enough, it's not going to propely power the headphones so that it has its full dynamic range or whatever
especially with planars
Yeah hopefully it powers it enough
It doesnt need to be extra loud but i feel like a going out and getting a dac for normal use is over the top
a dac is just a digital audio claymore anyways
Wdym lmao
Dacs dont do any amplification
It just simply converts digital data to analog signals
Usually at line level (depending on what you define line level as)
Tbf I think a good amp would make a bigger difference than adding an amp and dac
Amp does the amplification
There are RCA outs so you can directly output into like a Magni w/o DAC
DAC just like, cleans the audio up or something
Without needing the jankier setup of 3.5mm to rca
So it sounds gooder on your headphones
More detail
Magni also takes rca
Doesn't "clean"
Wrong term
The DAC takes the digital signal and, stay with me on this, converts it to analog
Lmao
WHAAAT

It does a bit more than convert but ya, that's keeping it simple
hey guys, im in my uni so i decided to opt for a mac for convenience, but i'd like to play some games during my time here, for that, what mouse could i get, preferrably wireless but wired is also fine, that'd meet my needs. In AUD if possible, also not that costly since it'll be pretty casual gaming. Thanks 😄
Deathadder essential
G305 my beloved
ight ill check those out tysm
Try anything keychron
til keychron makes mice
which one? most of them have usb's, which my mac sadly doesnt. Also, how do I know my mouse will be compatible with a mac? the mouse I use at home doesn't work with a mac
Oh forgot to mention the DA essential doesn't have synapse compatibility iirc on mac
You need to program it on Windows first
Then you'll be good to go
im ngl, i understood nothing 😭
If you want to program the buttons, you need a windows pc for the first 10 minutes to set it up
Then you will be fine to use it
damn it got on board memory
wish my keyboard did
too old
nah i have a razer blackwidow v2
lmfao
i've been using it for... like
well, pretty much since it launched
bought it on a sale during a black friday for like 80 cad after tax
So what if I told you it does have onboard mem
it doesnt save macros and stuff though
or at least last i checked like... 5 years ago
That's cos razer stingy
☠️
If you want basic stuff programmed it does work
Every wireless mouse they have are both 2.4ghz and bluetooth compatible, their software is available on macos, your mac should still have usb type c ports if you don't have type a ports, and the keychron mouse come with type a and type c adapters
ohh
makes more sense now
ty
If you absolutely cannot use usb type a or type c, you can still use bluetooth
OH YEAH i forgot that modern macbooks dont have usb a anymore, only usbc/thunderbolt ☠️
yea thats what i was wondering
lol
gotta love apple 😄
thanks tim
i have the m2 💀
and apparently they dont even have a headphone jack anymore
no they have the headphone jack
thankfully
but i use bt earbuds so i dont need em
oh idk mine has lol
well, i mean, considering that your m2 has, maybe they havent removed it... hmmmm
Yo, I checked literally every store that retails Artisan Mousepads
Every single one was sold out
Touring season this year is rough for me...
in Japan?
rip
yeah i checked like yodobashi akiba, umeda and i checked a couble bic stores and didnt find anything
and this was back in may
average mans pants pocket can fit this
Hello any advice what artisan mousepad should I get I mainly play fps cod val r6 d2 I have v3 pro if it matters no glass skates I mainly want precision and accuracy I want mid speed like not too fast not too slow with leaning towards slow to have more control ig
uhhhhhhi think there's a spreadsheet
Yea it's pinned
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RAnmZxDNduaGV8kB-GCvZ0MO6d9-0j9jmrU2f8dp0Ww/edit#gid=0
Might be out of date though
Prob something under medium
my mousepad is a random sheet of rubberized fabric from my parents garage
Imagine using a mousepad
Imagine using a mouse
I use a ratpad
Should I get the vv3 pro I got 18-19 9-10 cm hands and can use any grip(I just find a grip that’s comfortable)but I use claw mostly
it good, also slightly on sale rn on amazon. just dont get gengar version
there are other mice though better for claw though unless you do like razer
but also depends on your hand size (i still have no idea what the cm measurements are)
I will say as a 18x10 hand, the V3 pro feels amazing, but lately I've been testing mice like the lamzu Atlantis mini and it's pretty good
Well the vv3pro does everything better then gpx 2(not saying it’s a bad mouse) sora v2 sounds very small idk if I’ll like it what other recommendations?
Thx fr the feedback
I think i just spent over 2 hours trying to figure out the differences between all microsoft surface pro typecovers (keyboard)
And I understood nothing
lmfao

Chair recommendations around $250?
I've been testing some of newest ergonomic IKEA office chairs for about a year now. Here's a quick comparison between the Jarvfjallet, the Hattefjall and the ever popular IKEA Markus chair.

I've tested a lot of office chairs, and while comfort is very subjective, I do think some chairs are better than others. So here's my tier list of what I personally think are the best office chairs for the home office. But I wouldn't take these rankings too seriously, as "lower" tier chairs can still be great and "higher" tier chairs don't guara...
not many other mice that i can think of that are on the larger side but could also check out the wlmouse beast x max. theres anothe mouse company i cant remember that also has a mouse around the same size as a gpro and viper v3 pro
i have the same size hands as you and i play relaxed claw and relaxed ftip on the sora v2
mine are like 19 x 9
if you dont care about 4k i think its the best option on the market rn
or ngl the beast x is
slightly bigger but same weight
and it comes with 8k
budget friendly keyboard that is programming friendly and gaming?
What kind of budget are you thinking, $50, $100, $150+? And do you have any switch preferences
Most likely keychron has something that fits your needs
50-80 is probably ideal
Do you have any size preferences?
Try looking at this to start, can go bigger, can go smaller, can get a knob

The V1 allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
Thanks !
Im tempted buy a pair of HD 6XXs, considering OHMs and db would i be able to run off my mobo or should i get an external DAC/AMP?
Heres my setup im working on if this helps any bit https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6VWLz6
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Phanteks Eclipse P200A DRGB Mini ITX Tower
Probably better to drive them with an amp
It'll run off mobo but it's gonna be quiet
Yee i didnt know the output on my mobo
i would highly recommend getting an external dac/amp
dont really need any crazy, because despite it being a 300ohm headphone, the sensitivity is good so you dont actually need that much soup relatively speaking to power the headphones
that being said, you'll likely be able to be able to drive the headphones to a listenable level with just the onboard audio, but the onboard dac usually is of a lower quality
and also may have more self noise
A Breath of Fresh Air Improve the quality of your everyday audio with the ZEN Air DAC. DAC stands for Digital to Analogue converter. In a nutshell a DAC converts the digital info in your source device your computer games console tablet or smartphone to music that we can hear through speakers or h...
So would this do enough for what i want?
Or maybe just a sound card?
i assume that is your budget?
i would probably recommend a Schiit Fulla (US$110) https://www.schiit.com/products/fulla-2
if if you have a little bit more budget, I use a Schiit Magni Unity w/ DAC (US$190) https://www.schiit.com/products/magni-unity
if you want balanced audio, for a somewhat similar price, the FiiO K5 is around 110usd
fiio technically has better value, but it's made with cheaper labour (and is also from china)
while schiit is designed and produced all in the USA
seems like the k5 is discontinued? here's the k5 pro though which is currently on sale https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003682930042.html?
make sure to select the us plug though
Im sorry but schiit is a fire name
Why should i use the magni vs the fulla?
And ive heard good things from FiiO
magni has a bit more juice to power pretty much any headphones, in case you want to increase your headphone collection
also has a better dac technically (though it isn't like, a huge jump)
the fulla has the benefit of also including a mic adc though, so you can plug a (3.5mm ts) mic into it
and also it's quite small (not that the magni unity is big)
the magni is the schiit
oh yeah, and if you want to output to powered speakers, the magni has rca outputs (and inputs)
fulla is headphone out only (1/4" trs)
Mkay mkay
lmao
Those jokes are dogschiit
you also get some schiit stickers with your purchases
oh yeah
note that the fulla is bus powered, while the magni requires a chonky wall wart
Tf is a wall wart
Both of these are from my schiits
(my UPS doesnt have enough space so i used a christmas light extension cord to give space for these lmao)
left one is for my vali 3 and right one is the magni
I still dont know what a wall wart is 😭
oh it's the plug transformers that plug in the wall
looks like a wart when plugged in, hence the name
Here's my stack
the vali is kinda redundant since it's another amp
my magni is my dac, and the output is feeding into the input of the vali amp
though when i dont want to produce more heat from the tube (or i dont want to wait for the amp to warm up) or if/when the tube finally dies, i'll have a backup ready
i still havent figured out where to get replacement tubes from for the lowest price; though these tubes lasts for 3k hours apparently so im not in a huge hurry
wall warts are pretty typical for electronics lol
though you may call it differently
idk what if there even is a proper name for it
wall transformer?
idk
Lol no im talking about the tubes
oh
tubes is an older tech
some people love them, some people hate them
most audio equipment that predate the semiconductor era use tubes
hell, tubes arent really produced anymore, so any tubes you see are mainly old stock from like when the soviet union was still around
aka like the 1960s
Which is more price for performance in your opinion?
solid state would be the best
tube amps can "colour" the sound a bit (which some audiophiles hate because "it isnt what the sound designer intended" or whatever, while others like it because of it)
but the vali 3 doesnt include a dac, so you would have to use the lower quality dac in your mobo to get audio, or buy a modi, which is going to set you back another hundred
anyways
magni unity would be more than enough for your needs
the hd6xx would be perfectly powered at 0db gain (on the middle option on the gain selector)
btw just as a note before you buy the hd6xx
with it being open back, there is absolutely no noise isolation at all
wearing the headphones barely makes environmental noise any quieter, so if someone is watching tv or whatever nearby, if you can hear it with your ears normally, then you will hear it with the hd6xx on
so you may also want to grab a pair of iems or other headphones with better noise isolation in case of a loud racket lmfao
my pc setup is in the living room, so i have to switch to my iems every time my dad decides to watch tv (which is quite rare thankfully) but yeah
(my setup is in the living room because there's alot more space for vr here if you're wondering)
I just realized that my answer might not have been clear by saying solid state lol
I meant the Magni unity or fiio k5, which are solid state
I own the pc38x, im familiar with open backs, thanks for the heads up anyhow 🔥
So would the fulla not properly power my setup?
Since i do have a stereo/subwoofer setup in that
- my senny microphone im thinking about getting
it technically can, but the only output is the 1/4" jack
that being said, even with the magni, you will have to unplug the headphones to activate the rca
oh interesting was there not a physical switch on the magni that lets you swap between RCA and the headphone jack?
Nah
There are a few switches though, but not for that
There's a power switch in the back (like all schiit devices pretty much)
There's a gain selector switch (low gain, normal, high)
And an input selection switch (DAC or RCA input)
Also of course a volume knob
Oh yeah random interesting fact
The wall warts that schiit provides are ac-ac
It's just a simple transformer to make 110vac or 240vac into 12vac
The rectification and voltage regulation is done in the amp/dac
This is only specifically the lower end and smaller units from them though
The higher end/ larger units just have 120/240v input
No transformer wall wart
Though do note that neither their wall warts nor their larger units have voltage switching, so you need to make sure to select the right voltage for your area
good to know
before i fry the hell out of my schiit products-
wonder if a third party wall wart that also transforms from 120/240v would work
if you can find a 3rd party wall wart
the good thing about schiit though is that they only have 3 different types of power supplies
the normal IEC c13 connector, 1 ac-ac wall wart w/ barrel plug, and 1 ac-ac? (i forget) for tube amps
with a different connector
ah
the tube amp one has a 24vac/6vac output
i was bored and tested it, but the 2op 2 pins (the ones that are further apart) are the 24v and the bottom pins are 6v
6th gear moods
interesting cutout choice by pulsar. no charge port, dock instead
second? ergo mag mouse now or at least soon to the market
dont know how many ergo mag mouse there are, only know pwnage
how obscenely priced is it
no pricing yet on it but i suspect somewhere between $150-$180
looks like they went razer route and used a cover for most of it so probably only around the actual click switches will be exposed
$150 for a mouse is dirty work
my blue yeti appears like this and doesnt work at all
Try another USB port. If it still doesn't work, something broke electrically inside it.
Also worth noting this is the third Blue Yeti specifically I've seen do this
the thing is the lights on the mic light up but it doesnt work
So power is flowing through it but the actual electronics are not functioning
can you go in a vc rq
i think i fixed it
thank you
Sweet. If it happens again you should definitely try a different set of USB ports since it was the controller itself. If it's in a USB 3.0 port, try a 2.0 port.
pretty average for high end mice
pretty cheap actually for magnesium
viper mini signature edition is $300. wlmouse beast x and finalmeme ultralight x is around $200
logitech g502 x and superlight x are both around $160
pretty much every wireless razer mouse is $150-$180 except for older models
Fake airpods
those already exist
pixel buds a and pixel buds pro
pro 2 came out recently
they dont look anything like this though
they're the round in ear type

still have no idea what the led lights are for on those galaxy buds
Looking for a 2.5k 5mp+ webcam like this, trying not to go too far above. 60fps would be great but im not too picky at this price range
Plug and Play: Convenient and easy to set up, this USB Webcam is always ready for your meetings. USB-2.0: Connect your USB Webcam to your computer using the included USB-A cable. Id say between 50-100, lower the better
why not get that one? $48
that one says its 2k
2k is just a generic term for roughly 2000 pixels wide
oic
in description it says 1080p @ 30 fps
sham
mebbe not
Toms Guide says it does 2k @ 30 fps
Your phone will often be a miles better webcam than any typical webcam
Might use my phone then ig
Idk how to deal with storage tho
Just usb c and have it link directly?
You can connect it to your laptop
Ill buy a laptop rq
Yee
If your phone supports it, you can just connect your phone to your PC via usb and it may pop up with "use as webcam" or whatever
If not, then you can use uhh
Droidcam
Im sure theres software somewhere yeah
Which sends it over your LAN
Mkay
Appreciate it
My s23 should be plenty good as a cam, dunno why i didnt think about that lol
Just gotta get a ring light ig or something to make it easier
Also you somehow came in the same moment I did lol
lol yeah
hmmm, can't find audio channel so here maybe
wife needs new headphones
over the ear
onboard motherboard sound 3.5mm jack
$50-$100
pref closed back
can go with the classic mdr 7506's
noted
i'll run these by her and see what she thinks
just listening to youtube and stuff on her pc
she likes bass too forgot to mention that
oh
then these wont be as ideal since they're studio headphones with a relatively flat response
idk if she's even that picky but i know in her car and at home she cranks the bass up lol
roasted the alternator in our car i had a system in because too much bass
💀
did you have a custom amp in there? how would the oem overload the electronics in a car lmao
maybe that alternator was already on its way out tbh
to be fair, you could always EQ it to have more bass
ah
well, honestly, bass in headphones dont really matter as much, since you would only really feel the bass if it were on speakers
so honestly yeah, get the sony's and EQ them
it's easier to eq to add bass rather than to eq away the bass when you dont want as much bass
i would recommend using like, equalizer apo and peace for the EQ
very light and feature packed
(equalizer apo doesnt have a good gui, peace gives it a good gui)
ok so i talked to her a bit more and she wants on ear
she tried my over the ear and it made the part where her glasses are hurt and annoying
she's got skullcandies right now lol if that tells you anything
tbh i dont really have many recommendations outside of skullcandy for bassy headphones, since i personally like having a "blank canvas" for whatever music i want to listen to
she only has the skullcandies because cheap and airplane
long time ago but they're starting to come apart like the ear cover part is shredding
i know most good headphones are over the ear so idk about much else
for on-ears, perhaps the koss porta pros? but those are open back, and also neutral, but could EQ that as well
it has a pretty light clamp force with it being pretty much completely made of spring steel
oh those look interesting
so it's nicer for glasses wearing
Equipped with dynamic elements that deliver a wide frequency response and deep bass,
right up her alley
thank you
yeah np
on sale $40 too
to be fair, laptop audio tends to suck lol
iirc the mic on the model with the inline mic is pretty decent
i would ask felix but i think he's sleeping currently
ah
Hey! Anybody familiar with armory crate ? I’m using it to change the color of my RAM / Motherboard. But I do not want the program installed. Is there anyway to keep these settings and have the program uninstalled ?
Afaik no
On my laptop, without it, it just stays on the factory defaults if I uninstall the app
You may be able to control the colour with a lighter app, potentially windows 11's WDL, or openrgb
I don't like armoury crate
wdym proprietary
works with all kinds of stuff
As in it's not open source
Damn
yeah the open source alternative is openrgb
I think both support asus. I had both for a few weeks
last time i tried openrgb it wouldn't control my asus X670
Did you install the chipset drivers? Those are required for SMBus access
yes
however
i may have tried to use it before openrgb supported it
it wasn't long after the boards were available
Hmm. Well I know they've been adding a lot of hardware lately so maybe it works now.
No it's just more bloated and closed source, tha'ts why it's not as recommended
hatsune miku glasspad from skypad/wallhack and its exclusive to only japan 😔
sekaiiiiiiii de~~
Any good webcams under 60$ that can mount to the top of your monitor? I'm also fine w base stands that just sit on top of my pc
free (assuming you already have one) + cost of mount - your phone
honestly your phone camera would likely outclass anything in the sub-$60 budget range
you could try buying a used point and shoot with either built in webcam capability (probably would be out of your budget) or with a hdmi/microhdmi/minihdmi output, and put it through a cheap capture card - may be a little above the $60 range though in order to find a decent semi recent camera as well
i just dont really think most webcams are worth their price tag when most people have a perfectly serviceable camera in your smartphone
only when smartphone quality isnt enough is when you may want a better camera, but at that point, you'll probably by buying some like $500 camera + $200 lens or whatever, and some good quality capture card, or maybe the camera can just output directly to usb
and then that would be a noticeable increase from your phone quality
I see thanks though!
kinect + adaptor
the kinect is so op
absolute w webcam
if you have one
yes
And the award for the bulkiest webcam goes to
xbox kinect
Honestly
It's not even the bulkiest
The people who have a cinema camera as their webcams would know
the kinect isnt a good webcam if you dont already have one
How do you use it on your PC anyways
adapter
It's actually officially supported to be used on a PC as a webcam
It can even do windows hello
It's just the world's largest windows hello face recognition webcam
Also I'm specifically talking about the Rev 2? Xbox 1 kinect
Not the 360 Kinect; idk if the previous versions works as well or not
Jesus Christ how do you even adapt the damn thing to USB
Microsoft sells the adapter

further update, person running japan account for wallhack meant to say itll release in japan first. there is hope i can get one later 🙏
Perhaps I need one as well
Also I think you can use the xbox 360 kinect as a webcam. I did it once but I just remember it being too bulky and too complicated to run
vancer x arbiter studio akitsu mouse
favorite fps game ?
dont really have one rn since cod is bleh copy pasta, apex is having trouble, overwatch 2 is just not fun with randoms, cs2 would probably be the closest to my favorite fps game currently but even that game has problems rn
valorant is just straight up unfun solo que if youre in anywhere gold-ascendant rank cause 90% of the people in those ranks are edaters or just have the biggest egos thinking theyre immortal or higher
never played. wanted to but never got into it
I personally find fps games with friends are the best, moreso with Valorant since COD gets older faster
wrong channel oops
I have more fun in val with friends but they dont really have fun with me cause my friends are trying to actually rank up while im trying to bhop backwords around the map
I once had a friend group of people who do both
is there a mechanical keyboard that’s wireless but also has a trackpad built in
I don't think I've seen that
It's pretty niche
I only know that there are membrane keebs with trackpad, but I don't think I've seen a mechanical one asides from custom built ones
Hell
Just upholster some plywood so that it's soft on your thighs, and VHB tape a mechanical keyboard and trackpad onto it
How good are pulsar mouses?
Any earbud reccs? Looking for in ear buds, rubber on the end not like the bs air pods is on, hopefully something to get me through a year or two of college
I'd like under $50 but up to $80 or so is fine w me

I grabbed the Galaxy buds FE for $80 off the Newegg market, they've been great so far.
They were mostly my pick because of the neutral sound profile but they have EQ with good bass if you prefer

Right?

Nice, I figured it was that or bottom right
I thought you said you got it with a $80 discount and was so confused lmao
It's currently 80 on Amazon as well

Small nitpicks like not autoplaying when they're reinserted
Ambient sound adjustments also affect your call quality on em
NC is real good for the price
Oh there's also the uhh nothing buds 2 pro
No clue how they sound
I just wear kz buds with a audio jack to usb c connector
In my opinion a superior listening experience for half the price
The only negative would be if you hate cords
I use cords at school, usually during down time tho
Wireless definitely does have that convience and out of the way element though
hey group. looking for a KVM setup to switch peripherals and 3 monitors between a PC and a laptop. Would this KVM do the trick? https://www.newegg.ca/p/1DJ-00Z3-00072
Based on specs alone I would say yes, but do keep in mind this ships from China and the marketplace seller doesn't have a stellar profile
thanks.
thats quite alot
?
not really?
kvm switches arent cheap to make
probably would have cost like ~$150 to make
maybe less since it's made in china
oh
but logistics costs and needing to make a profit will raise the cost to that
also r&d
Especially high bandwidth DP ones
They need better signal integrity and repeating so you need higher quality components
By the way
I think you'd find this funny
This is my earbuds at the moment
and one of the earbuds broke so it's just the right one lmao

might be a bit late but lethal gaming gear is having a labour day sale and the saturn design pads are at a good price esp the boardzy design. $10 for saturn pad
guess depends where you live, lgg is located east coast im pretty sure. some people are getting like $10 or less for shipping
put in a zip code for alabama and cheapest estimate is $10.60
i put a second item in my cart and shipping for me went from $15 to $16
wonder what itll be with 5 items
alright nvm, too ambitious. $77 for shipping for 5 boardzy saturn pads
Define "good," what do you want it to do, how would you like it to sound?
I can tell you those aren't hot swap switches so you'd be soldering to change them.
If all you want is a mechanical keyboard to say you have one and RGB then it should be fine.
Very plasticity
I want YOU to define "good." I am implicitly requesting here, a panel of unofficial (and maybe some official) experts to educate me about what factors and specs I should take in to consideration when making computer-related purchases. The response above me is a great example, actually.
I guess maybe next time I'll ask instead, "what do you all think about this?"
Unfortunately, keyboards around the $40 price range does tend to be quite plasticity
For $80 here, you can get a (still plastic case) but metal plate, hotswap switches, and good switches for the price
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-v5-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40293230772313
Alternatively, there is currently a group buy going on for a full aluminum case keeb for the same price, though it doesn't have the function row, or a numpad, but will have an incredibly high build quality for the price
https://clickclack.io/products/upcoming-click-clack-x-kochi-hummingbird68-magnetic-switch-mechanical-keyboard-kit?variant=41791315935268
The fully assembled version includes: ABS plastic housing The keyboard PCB, screw-in stabs, and the steel plate Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps) Keychron K Pro switches The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for V5. If it's out of your budget, I understand, but imo good keyboards don't really start until you reach around the $100 mark
Is that hummingbird any good? Looks intriguing
the hummingbird is tray mount
the group buy was sponsored on the latest glarses video and i looked at the price, and for what you get, it's quite good value imo
oh yeah i forgot to mention
the hummingbird is hall effect
I don't actually have a budget, I was just being cheap
The thing is, with keyboards, what is good for one person is unusable for another. I was simply trying to figure out what your preferences are.
yeah i have met people that somehow prefer rubber dome keebs over mechanical for some reason
they cant really explain the reason either
it just feels right to them?
those people are strange /j
It is because they have only ever used membrane
happy hacking boards are basically rubber dome aren't they
and they have a cult following
topre switches
and yeah pretty much
well
except it isnt mushy
since it's a capacitive switch
I prefer membrane but only because it's the quietest I can get without spending $250 on a custom build
@white flame can I bother you abt earbuds?
Woot has some deals I'm looking at
There's some other but those seem most note worthy. Are the galaxy buds worth the extra you think?
Definitely worth it imo
Was going to buy them but woot doesn't like me
Won't let me check out

Oh dope, thanks
I checked out the sellers for both the graphite and white versions, "lifeline786" and "OE USA" are good
I WANT THE DAMN HATSUNE MIKU GLASSPAD WALLHACK. RELEASE IT IN THE US ALREADY RAHHHH
Anyone have a wooting he60+?
I've tried one if you have questions I can answer
What do you think of hall effect keyboards now?
FOR GAYMING
For gaming those wooting boards and huntsman boards can be very annoying to adapt to, but when you're used to it I quite like it
Ridiculously sensitive though
The feeling of the 60HE was really nice tho
It genuinely feels good
Stressing the word good
bought the 60he module and threw it into my tofu. havent really modded it cause broken hand makes it harder to do stuff but is nice thus far but is really sensitive. i have mine at 0.6mm actuation and still too sensitive for me
also, unless they've updated it, their web software doesn't have macro access because they have a seperate softgware for macros that works for any keyboard and mouse. i think any. but it is a bit meh
they also have their own equivalent to snap-tap granted its banned in cs2
|| preorders 80he ||

What's the best looking and feeling keyboard out rn
depends on your tastes
Looking for something milky and quiet
best feeling imo is the og model f from 1984 or whatever year it released again
but that is loud lmfao
2%?
3.25 is the best milk
Get outta here
You're drinking cream idiot
nah man, cream starts at like 10%
Personally 15% does the trick
Next thing you're gonna tell me is 2% is water pfft
nah, skim is water
2% is like water + a knob of butter
also for the best feeling keyboard, you normally would do a custom build
Custom takes effort and cost but you can pick and choose your preferred mods and look
If you're very particular, you can really create the experience you want with your own two hands
We have a couple dudes here that know how
typically you get a barebones kit, and then pick the switches and keycaps you want
Not me, I'm a milk guy
that is the easy mode version
there are some keyboard enthusaists that design their own pcb and case, and that's hard mode
lmao
Got at least 1 person here who has before
Used to have others who sold 1 off designs
Infinity might have a good idea hold on
@primal pawn ^
I wouldn't have a problem with just switching caps but ngl I'm kinda lazy just wanna plug and play for most part
Bridge75 or Rainy75 if you want prebuilt
Im doing that its a wip
Thank you
👍
Vv3 pro
Op18k
Vv2 pro on sale
Da v3 pro
Uh
Why only razer in my head rn
Hey wanna talk about milk again?
Well there's reason for my madness
The late razer 8k sensor is probably the best on the market rn
Op18k is very close in comparison
I just can't remember the other options for some reason
Very late where I am
Lol
Ahhh makes sense
Da v3 and vv2 pro close behind, as is op18k
😭😭
You can also program them so you can avoid razer software
What's that
I like more control
Glorious mouse pad
Well
Desk pad
It's nice but I'd do a bit of research on what you like for feel
Whats the difference between the vv3 pro and the vv3 hyperspeed
Not entirely aware myself
I'm on vv2 *pro
Vv2 pro normally goes on sale on amazon from time to time
Vv3 pro improved the accuracy
What grip do you use
And also ships with wireless 4k or 8k
I'm a palmer 😔😔
Me too
There you go
That's a point for the milk team
But uh yeah, do some research on mouse pads
There's a big gamut, go to a store, try a few out
Find what makes you either feel most comfortable or the sharpest
Ptfe is the usual choice for mouse skates
I live in a town with a pop of 13k
Glass is an option (I don't recommend glass on glass)
We ain't got no stores lmao
Not even 30 minutes away?
Shopping centre???
LMAO
Try them
That's funny
Okay so
Costco also do it
Aren't wired mouses better
Wired and wireless are identical these days
Newer wireless mouses are much better nowadays
Wireless is in fact faster by a bit
The positives outweigh the negatives
Yep
No mouse cord drag
Free flow, no tug, faster latency
You can get more weight though, but some mice get so light it's negligible
Wireless mouses have gotten lighter
There comes to a point where when the mouse is too Light it's crappy
Yh
And that one ninja mouse that was going crazy back in the fortnite era a couple years back
Final mouse air 58
My surface pro keyboard trackpad just started behaving in a strange way... now it only senses touch at the edges. I cleaned it but no results, disconnected the kb but nothing, it still doesn't work right. This already happened for a short period a few days ago
Now it's working again. :/
An 11 day delivery window is interesting lol
Found the problem by looking up this reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/ei0b9a/surface_pro_7type_cover_touchpad_erratic_behavior/
I noticed mine was behaving only when plugged in with the new charger. Everything is fine with the old one. I'll just stick to the previous charger if I need to use it in the meanwhile
interesting
That will be a rogue short or ground
And since it's common enough to be found on the internet, it'll be a common defect
Bad parts choice or board design/cable design leading to the rogue short
Or lowest resistance into the trackpad
Or perhaps a bit less local, the io chipset/die is experiencing the short or high current, leading to weird usb behaviour in general
So I just discovered IEMs, or well these “special versions” of “earbuds” and I’m kinda interested in them atm, I got a very very specific advertisement on how they’d help me hear where the footsteps are in CS2
Which I really need 😭
Apparently there’s KZ KSN Pros, moon drop chu 2’s, a bunch of random names and I’m not looking to spend a lot for these considering I wanna test them out
The two you mentioned are good iirc
A lot of mentions from what I can see
Lemme throw a pair in
Salnotes 7hz zero
iem's are basically full isolation headphones, proper audio, some need serious amps to get the full range
Like good headphones, such as planars or open backs for example
Apparently you need to adjust the audio or base on these things too?
To preference of course
Would suggest an apple dac if you're looking at this (Beware they won't be very loud if you use this)
Maybe, depends on the person
Apple dac is a usb-c to audio jack adapter
Apple's official one is a budget dac
Unbeatable value
Oh no need to worry
But, no amp power
I got front 3.5 ports
Just a warning
😭
I mean, if you don't change to a better codec then you're sorta butchering the effort
Oh
Using your in built mobo audio just turns that codec into the bottleneck
So if the audio sucks then the headphones will play back the sucky audio
Is there any you recommend other than the apple one ig
This is just a random question but I got a razer X tournament headset and it comes with one of those USB A hubs that you can plug in the 3.5 into, is that technically a dac?
It...could be?
Google will tell you
It would need a decode chip
But I don't trust razer as far as I can throw them for audio
Their only good executions of audio are their laptops and speakers (inc. phones)
Ya no this headset is one of them off the shelf you’d see at target 4 years ago
And good is a stretch
Kraken audio is garbage
I owned 2 or 3 pairs so I would know
The mic isn’t that bad tbh
I hang them as display pieces
Just it picks up everything
Pretty garbage on the older ones
Yeah that's what makes it garbage
Sensitive mic is easy
The one I have is actually pretty clear though, somehow it has a better mic than my AirPods which I find strange
Mixed mic with proper cardioid isolation? Harder
Tiny headphone mics are garbage too
You don't have anything else to compare to?
The best I got are those plug in apple earbuds too
A proper cardioid mic was something razer took years to work out
I haven’t bought a new headset or anything in years
Their later stuff
Like their bt lapel mic
Or their blackshark mic
Those are decent
Kraken tournament pales in comparison
I thought black shark was bad
No??
Ok, compared to normal suggestions here, it's not great
But in terms of razer it's one of their best
Barracuda is not really any different
Nor is the newer kraken stuff
Good mics are more common in Razer's stack now
I just would never recommend
I don’t think I’d buy another razer headset tbh
Even with the “all ready to go” plug in, they want you to download their very crappy synapse 3
Good idea
I'm warming up to them a little bit again tho, since wdl is supported
No software needed
I’d probably lean towards HyperX if they’re still making good headphones though
Can't remember iii
No clue
18$, no clue if that’s the right thing
For????
Not the foggiest idea
I am not that well learnt on audio
I just know the topping is good enough to be almost endgame
Cheapest dac+amp combo you'll find afaik
So I’m guessing that image above is not the right DAC we’re talking about here
Don't think so, not aware of what it is tbh
Oh it lists itself as a dac
Interesting
It does have the ports but I wouldn't just buy any old random one
Idk if you got this off the top of your head, zero 2 > zero?
150 is low
And it's a combo dac+amp
You get both
You want both if the iem's need a lot of grunt
😭
Well I’ll look into this more in the morning
I just watched this and ngl they all got such nice price points https://youtu.be/5Gi0J20NSPk?si=QCAc4cO1ufPkvRDi

And from the looks of it, the zero and zero 2 are similar, just zero 2 is newer quality or smth
Zero is supposed to be really good
Chu 2 is more mainstream now but that doesn't make it bad
I was recommended this a year ago, and you know, audio has barely progressed in over 30 years
So make of that what you will
I would make sure you get a new dac tho, in-built mobo codec's are often rubbish
Some are ok, but that's just it, ok
Not great
Not amazing
The apple dac will help if you want to play on console tho probs
@lost scarab
Check out crinacle's iem ranking list
https://crinacle.com/rankings/iems/
Also yes, what you sent is a DAC
But it is highly unlikely to be anything decent. I can pretty much guarantee that the apple dongle would be considerably better for cheaper https://www.amazon.com/Apple-USB-C-Headphone-Jack-Adapter/dp/B0D7FF5Y3X/
Ignore the compatibility list, this dongle works with android and windows as well
If you want something slightly higher end, you can try getting a fiio ka13 or ka5 for slightly less than that
Iirc motor in this server uses the ka17
No it won't
Ps5 doesn't support it, and afaik neither does Xbox
also about the apple usbc dongle, imo it gets loud enough for any IEM you throw at it
it WILL struggle with some lower sensitivity over ear headphones though
i didn't recommend any desktop dac/amp on this list because for IEMs, any option should really provide enough juice to power them
and desktop dac/amp are ususally more expensive, but also often have a volume dial instead of buttons, which would be nicer
but in terms of value, the portable units are more useful for most people since they can use it both on their pc and phone
though most are bus powered, so your battery life on your phone will be drained faster than if you werent using it
keychron did a wooting keeb $224 https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q3-he-qmk-wireless-custom-keyboard?variant=41844681900121
Keychron Q3 HE is a full metal QMK wireless keyboard with Magnetic Hall Effect switches. These switches offer precise actuation, rapid trigger, and adjustable actuation points. Connect the Q3 HE with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Oh I guess not probs then
FFFFFFFFF

Thank you!
Also thank you to Felix aswell
Is there any point in putting headphones over IEMs? I kinda find it strange
I could see it if somebody has a headset, which I would like to figure out how i'd have my mic work on the headset, audio in the IEM
I'm kinda stuck between the 3, Moondrop only being the one "listed" in crinacle's just it's older model, the KZ Castor mentioned but not rated due to some boycott(?) and the Tangzu's not rated at all yet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CHYMRYMW/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CB8HHS8V/ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C6QJZ574/

boycott is somewhat resolved, though crinacle wont be reviewing them since he can't remain unbiased due to the beef https://crinacle.com/2023/08/17/the-kz-boycott-still-stands/
also crinacle has reviewed the chu 2, though it appears to not be on the ranking list yet https://youtu.be/dsyVzW71KJs
both the tangzu and the chu 2 are good choices though; i own neither of them, but friends of mine have the tangzu and/or the chu 2 and like it
the chu 2 has a more bassy response, and less treble, while the chu (1) had a much flatter response which most general consumers may not like as much
I refuse to do any choo-choo train puns for this

i would also find it strange
you can buy some IEM cables w/ a inline mic if you need a mic
or alternatively, get a mic to put on your desk
I really dislike moondrops now
My first pair of moon drop sparks was fantastic
They broke and I bought a second pair, the audio quality is worse, one break within the first few months, case broke, and they swapped to a really obnoxious voice assistant
F
chu 2 or 50$ tws earphones ?
Their wired iems should be fine; haven't really heard any issues with it, specifically the chu and chu 2's
Yeah, I haven't ordered the galaxy buds yet but those will be my replacement
Depends on how much you hate the wire or don't mind it
Especially with the price difference
Definitely more convenient

good ?
I haven't seen it before, but you should expect $28 worth of performance from it
Maybe worse idk
You'll probably find better value on like AliExpress
https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/ruizu-x02-8-gb-mp3-player.23281/reviews good for the price on this review
I’d probably invest in a table mic but idk when I’ll do that, apparently people put headphones over IEMs to “drown out” and extra sound? Neat ig.
I was heavily leaning towards the chu 2, with especially how it’s built but I think the tangzu might be for me cause of the treble boost I need for those footsteps.
I'm unsure about that practice LMFAO
Usually it's kinda uncomfortable especially with the wire
Most headphones have worse noise isolation than most iems
😭
Iems were mainly used by live performers so they can hear the rest of the band (and/or have a click track to stay on beat)
Especially useful for drummers because drums are quite loud
I know I’m getting the low end of IEMs but how well are the audio to let’s say, newer headsets atm?
I’m hoping better than Krakens, Cloud I, most Steelseries
Iems often are way higher quality than similar priced on or over ear headphones
Oh alright
For $20 iems, they'll.... Probably be similar ish? In quality
