Happened suddenly as well, it was never like 50/50 works with normal pressure/doesnt
So my guess is something inside the switch is messed up
Kinda sucks since the mouse is only 1.5 years old :/
Then again I got it for like $15
isn't 1.5-2 years the normal life expectancy from a mouse?
I've had about 5 mice in total that I used frequently ranging from very cheap like $10 to $100ish lasting usually about 1.5 years before something started giving.
My Deathadder lasted over 2 years and was still fully working when I moved to the Viper. The left click had 'softened" a bit but was otherwise working fine still. Just wanted a lighter and smaller mouse.
Little update here; support case got escalated and they asked for proof of the ebay seller refusing a return/refund, then asked for my shipping address
update to the update, razer is not going to honor the warranty. :(
sadge
wlmouse beast x mini is finally moving through usps after long delay
expected delivery: march 7
it just now moved to a new state yesterday
keep seeing people roast logitech rn because of their keyboard they just released
Logitech G502
They released a keyboard?
I ain't gonna pay attention to them until they release our damn g704 Superlight
Sooo, what's there to do with wireless earbuds that won't hold the charge anymore? Have to spend another $180?
Umm they won't just stop working they'll have less battery life sure but
Like just charge them more often
Sometimes you can pop it open and swap the battery with an identical spec one but depending on what ones they are you might end up gluing it back together
Thanks but at 30 minutes of play time they might as well be dead
Yeah
What did you do/what poor quality ones did you buy?
That's incredibly low
How old are they?
I mean i use my galaxy beans daily for 2 years and they're a bit worse batt life but you'd have to be playing hours and hours before you needa charge them
Or maybe bring them to a shop/get repair done by manufacturer?
They just decide to explode in your ear sometimes
I have a pair of OnePlus Buds Pro that are 2.5 years old but they laid around for about a year because I got Sony LinkBuds. However LinkBuds are suffering from low battery now as well (also seems to have common Sony's left earbud battery issues)
I'm sorry what
Um well I'd request a quote for batt replacement from them (whichever you prefer) maybe
But open ear wireless buds somehow a rare thing
Nah the problem is that sony used the wrong battery in some models and it's the wrong voltage for the charging circuit, so it only charges a little bit on the new firmware versions since the alternative is spicy pillows in your ears
Louis Rossmann did a video
Galaxy buds live (beans) are the best option, they're technically not open but they don't go in your ear canal and give you good surrounding awareness and get loud enough to hear stuff around loud things like trains
My headphones: https://amzn.to/3rg0fOj
Detailed thread on the issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHeadphones/comments/x7mx2n/wf1000xm4_severe_battery_issues/

Headphone exploding: https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHeadphones/comments/117ueiy/wf1000xm4_battery_exploded_while_in_charging_ca...
Spicy pillows is a fun name
Depending how old they are they might fall under warranty for replacement?
This is all subjective but the beans didn't fare so well for this reviewer... (Higher score means worse in this instance)
Both pairs are over a year old now
Some warrantys are 2-3 years
Well after doing a lot of research myself from multiple review sources, they're pretty comfy, sometimes they bounce out of your ear but you can feel them slipping that's the only downside really
They're not amazing sound by any means but they get louder than linkbuds (which I've heard are really quiet in loud situations) and are perfectly fine, the mics not the best but it's fine (sounds better if you don't drop it in water)
As for water/dust resistance
It's deff better than the lowest score
I've dropped mine in water before because I'm a goof and they're both fine
I was pretty happy with LinkBuds until the left earbud battery started to go. I got mine for $130 on sale but they're back up to $180 now lol. And likely the new pair will have the same problem.
I know it's an old design etc but i cannot recommend the beans more if you're not using them for like running or something like that
The reason I picked LinkBuds is because of the design. The hole in the earpiece helps me hear pretty well (I wear them at work) and I haven't had any more ear infections since I got them which is a great plus.
I had the ear infection problem too
The beans would be perfect for work unless you do manual labour or something
And no issues with ears with the beans since it still allows air to come in and it's non invasive in the canal
And batt life after no joke multiple hours a day every day are still great
Hmm, I'll look into them
Obvs do your own research but highly recommended
My research amounts to a return period for the store I get them from
Tbh I can't even find my LinkBuds now
Oops

is there a way in the Windows settings to change the lift off sensor distance of a mouse or do you have to use specific software? I got a terrible wireless mouse while I'm waiting for a new one to arrive and it moves the pointer around the screen when I got it like an inch above the mousepad.
believe only through software for the mouse
yeah that is likely a firmware based thing and you'd need specific mouse software to change it
thanks i just didnt know what the layout was called
@neon root thoughts on the lethal venus pro?
want to get something similar to my hayate otsu but a bit bigger
honestly, forgor what its like since its been in my closet for so long since ive been testing out other mousepads. i dont have a hayate otsu so idk if its a direct comparison or not but i can say though is that the stitching has frayed a bit since ive bought it (it started to fray within like the first 2 weeks). but overrall the pad was good and didnt have any other problems with it and was slightly slower than my artisan hien? think it was slower. Also correct me if im wrong but i think LGG has a second version out or is coming out, forgor
hmm ok
i think the hayate otsu is supposed to be like a
slightly better hien?
Hey, late update.
@ivory fable I think also @daring zenith
I just got the porta pros today
They are
Actually phenomenal
The porta potty pros?
Ye
Koss porta potties
They're as good as my Senn's but a bit warmer
They sound amazing for what I paid for
Though I could kill the delivery guy
Left it out in the heavy rain yesterday, no message, no warning, hiding in a corner
LUCKILY off the ground and on a step
The box was soaked, I got a message this morning that it was delivered, 24 hours later
The headset box inside was very wet too, but thankfully Koss aren't so stupid to pack everything in cardboard yet so the set was perfectly fine
Protected in plastic
Look I'm normally ok with this
You know cardboard is pretty solid
Fairly water protective
It was raining inches yesterday
The box disintegrated in my freaking hands
I was livid
But thankfully the set was fine
I would've been panicking if it was a normal drop delivery
As their other sets are in full cardboard packing
Not plastic
Not koss

So uh yeah, happy to say they are an excellent recommendation

Minor drama aside
pretty fun, got any aftermarket ear pads?
Nah man, I got them as a present, the fact you can replace them for like $5 is a big plus
I also have ksc75's on the way for myself, if I'm not mistaken they're the same drivers but clip on headphones not a wire headband
yea there's some nice earpads for them
I didn't like how ksc75s fit on my ear but it might be my ear problem
I may look into custom earpads if they're worth it
Like sound wise
As they are rn they fit really well
Really really nice set
Noticeably a bit warm, but exceptionally clear for what, 70 usd?
I can't remember how much I paid but they were very inexpensive
On sale tbf lol
Seen worse, my friends work laptop had a must sign for these type delivery, the driver signed it himself and left it underneath his door mat (to hide it if you're blind)??? I could see it from across the street that his door matt was levitating, he wasn't from home and i wasn't able to collect it for him til an hour later
A lot of deliveries they don't take my signature for here
I don't mind that
What I do mind is it's bucketing rain for a whole day
And they dude didn't even think to try the door
I was home
but the fact that it was specified in the shipping requirements by his work
Skull emoj
It was the worst rain we've had in months
Ffs
The inside was soaked
Better than dubai

There was enough rain to float it away
Thankfully it was on the step and not on the ground
A lot of my street had some flooding
So you know
I feel like
maybe a little bit
Peeved
Understandable
The headset was fine tho
I will probably still send the video off to the company in question
I unboxed it on video as a grubby dirt sodden mess
The company in question never notifies me
And I've always worried about this
Instead I get drop telling me on their business hours it's there, a day later
Not really drops fault
No but that's really bad
It's bad yes, but delivery company at fault
I leave clear instructions
Clearly that doesn't seem to be enough
Oh deff not drops fault
I ought to put flight beacons down my path
Guide them down like it's bloody LAX international

Would the logitech g prox superlight2 be a good pickup?
g pro x superlight 2 is good if you like that shape but do a bit of research on it cause when it first came out it had some qc issues. id assume its fixed now but just in case
So what's another good option a razor mouse?
for a direct shape or near exact shape to the g pro x superlight, from razer itd be the razer viper v3 hyperspeed (granted this weighs at like 82g with the included battery) or whenever it does come out, the razer viper v3 pro which leaks suggest itll be about 50g. other mice like the VXE R1 Pro would be good. very similar in shape as well to the superlight
lamzu maya is slightly smaller than the g pro superlight
if you just want a ambi mouse, theres the viper v2 pro, pulsar x2, ninjutso sora v2, lamzu atlantis, endgame gear xm2we and the vxe r1 as i said as well
believe all of these are at $100 or less except the viper v2 pro unless you find it on sale
and the pulsar mouse
lot of mice out there these days
Where's the IBM model f or model m
(they're both terrible for gaming but amazing for typing)
Or a beamspring
Currently in stock where!? Is the only place being sold on there website?
How is a membrane board in meh tier and not 💩
Because some membranes are surprisingly tolerable
As in being better than cheaply made/cheap mechs
huh
Alright, friend wants a keyboard, coming here for recommendations.
Requirements: brown switches (or equivalent), full size layout, white (at least keycaps, base as well if possible)
Budget: 200USD (though they've only ever used laptop keebs so I don't think something super premium is entirely necessary)
Just sifting thru pcpp found these, don't know if they're any good though
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3HFZNS2

That razer mecha membrane is not that bad fr
are keyboard switches universal
ive had a keychron v1 for i think 2 years now and ive been very happy with it but i think i want "smoother" sounding and feeling switches
i think i have brown keycaps currently
again idk much about keyboards, i had 2 random mechanical ones before this one that sucked
yes
there's two pin types tho
which the v1's pcb does support
3 and 5 pin
idk what that menas
just how many pins it has to mount
so like would these work with a keychron v1
@floral lake ^
5-Pin
so yes?
yes
yes
best budget mic (~$30)?
Hyperx solocast
How does one trouble shoot a PC?
My pc was fine for the first 3 months after building it now it randomly blue screens every couple of weeks
id start by knowing which code the bsod threw
best 100ft (up to $20) ethernet cable?
Do you guys have any decent recommendations for a pair of wireless headphones? I already have a mic so I'm not concerned about the presence/quality of a mic on it. I'm a bit flexible on budget but I was looking to spend around $100. I was potentially looking at the Logitech G733 since I've had good luck with Logitech peripherals in the past but I've never purchased headphones before. But I'm open to any brand.
Anker q30 perhaps (V sound profile if that matters to you)
Do note that for gaming you might want to use it in wired mode for low latency
I use their q45
With a modified EQ so that it's more neutral lol
So is the latency bad on all wireless headphones? Part of my look to wireless was to fix some of my current cable management issues.
For Bluetooth, yes, it's generally not great latency wise
There are wireless headphones with dongles which work better but idk any in the $100 range
That are good anyways
USBC plug is also convenient for plugging into phones
Idk why they standardised this
Thankfully apple has a usb-c to audio jack with a dac for $7 on amazon that's based af
If the phone in question doesn't have an audio jack (they all should really)
Bluetooth yeah, and depending on how you set up the wireless adapter, 2.4ghz can be barely any better
That's a shame, I figured 2.4ghz would have been decent just because of how good logitech's 2.4ghz gaming mice seem to be. Maybe I'll just save my money and deal with wired headphones
Sadly not really the case unfortunately
Though my personal experience is just one of many people here
But I've found wired headphones just so much more reliable
No panicking about forgetting to charge, occasional signal drops, software updates etc
I prefer a good set with a mic and good speakers and a long aux cable lol
Sennheiser is really good for this, 3m cable with each set. You can walk to your door if you need to
Just keep track of the cable and it's fine, I use a velcro strap to keep it tied up
PC37X/PC38X are good sets from drop.com if you can go a little over 100 for that
That's fair, I've had a nice pair of Sony MDR-10RNC headphones that are about 10 years old but I'm starting to have issues with only getting audio in one ear sometimes which prompted me to start looking into headphones and I've had issues with getting the cable tangled on things in the past which is why I had been looking at wireless but I'll check those out and look into wired a bit more too.
You can get some really nice ones a lot cheaper if you don't need a mic
Like one I just got the other day from drop was Koss Porta Pros
If it's not your style then that's fine but their neutral sound tone is excellent, and they're only like $40
Made in the spirit of classic 80's style premium headphones, they're really good and lightweight, though the cable is not 3m, not by a long shot lol
Slightly warm sound, but otherwise incredibly detailed, especially for something that's got very little external noise isolation
I was suggested them by others here, was thoroughly impressed
2.4ghz is a hit or miss since it's such a congested frequency
So so so many devices use it
You have heard how people say 2.4ghz wifi is slower than 5ghz, but it isn't exactly due to the frequency
It's just due to the 2.4ghz bands being in a traffic jam basically
A cult classic
real ones remember skiptrace
Opposite of cult classic

New is $5 more
stupid question that google could prolly answser but they're not giving me it
how do noise cancellatioon headphones like the sony wh-ch720n uncancel noise?
When I have them on my head, but powered off, they cancel noise to some extent
When I have them on my head, powered on, they cancel noise completely
When I press a button on the right headphone, they uncancel the noise and I can hear far more clearly than I could with them on but powered off
I know they use a microphone that analyzes the ambient sounds or whatever and produce opposite sounds
It's way more simple than ANC, it's literally just the headphones using the mics to just pass through audio and playing it on the headphones
Maybe there's a bit more processing for wind rejection and such but the basic principle is just mic takes noise, speaker plays same noise
is that how it works in games too? like tarkov they have headphones that can help get rid of ambient noise but very well
*inversed noise
It do be simple doe
Good isolation ≠ ANC
No they're asking about like, "transparency mode" I think
Idk
If it's ANC it inverts the noise and "cancels" it
If it's sidetone it replays the noise
So like an open back effect
Both rely on a microphone afaik? I'm not a whole lot privy to the mechanics myself
It's the same principle as noise cancellation in video production afaik, you can use artifical sounds at distinct inverted frequencies to cancel it out
Sidetone should rely on the mic since sometimes I can hear wind noise when using it if it's strong enough wind
Oh hey from sony themselves
It does yeah
You're listening to the outside via the mic
The process for anc is similar except the difference is it has a signal inversion in the circuit
Very ingenious if you think about it
Ngl I prefer using very good noise isolation headphones with sidetone than a ok ish isolation very good ANC
I like my ears loose and naked
My ears are covered for most of the day with over ears
That's probably the most sexual phrase about ears youllever read in your life
Cancel them out with under ears
You haven't seen the ear people
Elves?
Maybe you mean Dumbo the elephant
That just reminded me of something I read that was way more sexual about ears than what you said
I'm trying to look for that gif of that advertisement with a person undoing the lock on a wheelchair and the wheelchair rolling into a road backwards
Can't find it
anyone familiar with sim wheels
im looking at a warehouse deal of a g920 and g923, with the 923 being about $100cad more, is it worth the higher price or nah
mainly will be using it for stuff like farming simulator, though i do plan on playing some other driving games
just get the g920
923 is just one with different color
technically there are some improvements, though idk if the improvements are worth the extra cost
or at least it seems like they've had some improvements in the hardware but idk
looking at a random comparison video on youtube, probably not worth $100 more
lmao
i was also looking at the t248x and t300, but those are going to be a bit more
about $40 more for the t248x (btw i didnt mention, but im only looking at openbox wheels to save a little bit)
and about $250 more for the t300
or a bit under $200 more for another one but that one is missing some hardware
no idea what hardware though
what is assembly hardware though???
why didnt my message send either
oh
it did, i restarted discord lmao
upon further examination, the t248x is quite plasticky
for the price, i would rather go for a g920 tbh
even a new one ☠️
lol yeah
damn i just looked at the trueforce compatibility list and it's still so tiny lmfao
even if it made a huge difference (which it seems like it doesnt really), that is still quite... paltry
☠️
buy local
lowball people
does the hyperx solocast use a audio jack or usb-c
It probably only uses usb2 speeds though lmao
You might as well get the cheapest moza wheel
The logitech wheels are a joke compared to mid-tier
I went from g920 -> t300 -> ts-pc racer
Sold the old ones on ebay and upgraded
Also the first thing you're going to want to do is replace the pedals
r3 bundle starts at $400
sim racing gets pretty expensive, so the entry cost is pretty small in comparison
Hmm
Would a g920 be worth it at 200cad, in lightly used condition
MSRP is like 400cad
Moza r3 bundle is $600, and oos
200 doesn't have tax (local marketplace)
400 (new) is before tax
600 (new) is after tax
Also note that I'll be doing less sim racing (well, I'll do some) than I would be doing sim driving
Though the moza r3 has easily changeable wheels which is a pro, but idk if I want to spend $600 right off the bat
I guess if I'm unable to buy the g920 for 200, then I'll save a bit more of my fun funds for a r3
I would hold off on the g920
Only because in comparison to the other wheels, it feels like a plastic toy
It's tough because you can't really go out and test these things before you buy them
Do you have any local sim racing groups? Maybe someone has an old wheel you can try/buy
Take your gaming experience to the next level with the Thrustmaster T300 Ferrari Integral RW Alcantara Edition. This racing wheel is compatible with Sony PlayStation 3 and 4, as well as PC, and comes with a stand for easy setup and storage. Made of durable plastic and featuring one fan, this wheel offers an immersive and realistic racing experie...
hmm
i did some thinking, i'll probably pick up the $200 g920, and use it till i save up enough (or decide that i dont want to play racing/driving sims anymore) and go for a moza r5, and give or sell the g920 to my friend that only has a wheel with no ffb at all (xbox user)
mostly because i'm not sure if i'll like sim racing/driving enough for it to be worth it, so $200, while it's not exactly cheap, is less painful than spending $600 or more and needing to find a buyer if i end up not liking it
and while i do regard that friend like a little brother from a different mother, i don't want to just give them something worth $600 lol
nor can they really afford buying it off me even with the friend discount
I picked up this abomination for $40 at Walmart and I hate how much I like them
Onn is basically Walmart brand Amazon Basics
I have a portable speaker from them, for $10 it's a great speaker
It's not a bad quality sound (considering the cost), pretty comfortable to wear and I haven't had any battery issues. Controls are kinda wonky but it's something you can get used to
I've had a similar experience with my ~$40 razer hammerhead earbuds
@west hornet I bought a boom arm so i can hang things from it for different kinds of shots
works fairly well. kinda
fishing wire taped to the subject and taped to the boom arm
lightroom wasnt really able to do a good job of removing the wire from the bottom left of the mouse since it was too dark so Ill have to do a better job on my end of placing the wire so theyre more visible and easier to take out in lightroom
Can be a combination of both
Depends on the budget but there is a lot of cgi involved if it's a razer pr video lol
Reminds me of that one flash clip
The power of visual effects continues to allow film makers to push their visions of what superheros are capable of doing but what happens when you take that away?
Superhero films and series are rife with incredible action scenes, and everybody gets in on the fun. Of course, for these scenes, the majority of the fighting sequences are loaded wit...

For product announcements cgi is common, for release and ads practical is the preferred method
I like to use fishing wire or floral wire for that kind of thing
Pretty cool though
any recommendations on a 50 euro printer (or about that) with a scanner and decent software and network connectivity? it would be perfect if it was compact
my beast x mini finally came in after delays. Expected delivery date from usps, March 7. arrived today, May 6
Laser printers are a bit more expensive upfront but you will save LOADS from not needing to buy expensive ink cartridges
Also the text clarity is very nice and sharp
just found out i got my beast x mini for free
was refunded a while ago because of how long it was taking and insurance covered the cost of the mouse for the company that i bought from so they got paid cause it was deemed lost
tf
W
im tryan find a new mousepad
i swithced backed to my razer focus glide from the hayate otsu
and realize i like it a lot more
beast x mini
what the vmse should've been all along
could just be how im holding it or just my smol hands, but the side buttons are so far up forward
mmm, actually, probably because im used to my rvmse cause comparing, i have my fingers in the same exact position but the beast x mini is slightly smaller so its not exactly in the same position
neptune pro came in today yessir
Anyone got any advice for a keyboard? My budget is somewhere between $150-200 CAD(im in canada), I want it to be black, mx browns or something that sounds similar, and back lit isn’t important
Preferably 75%
If possible, dm me recommendations, and thank you, any recommendations will be appreciated
any suggestions for a wireless webcam? bluetooth or dongle is okay
nevermind, google says wireless webcams are not realistic yet
Bluetooth especially won't work because it doesn't have nearly enough bandwidth
Also considering that some webcams strictly require usb 3.0 speeds now
Unless they use some compression algorithm yeah, 1080p would use nearly the full 10Gbps most 3.2 ports use
could use your phone as a webcam through apps but there can be issues with it
and instead you have to pay for expensive toner cartridges
though at least those dont dry up
ipwebcam works great from my experience a few years ago
but now my phone supports acting as a webcam if i just connect it to usb
no app required
so i use that instead
I know a guy who found a junkyard Laser printer that still worked once he cleaned the cartridge lol. School trash into one man's treasure
They're expensive but 1) don't dry up and 2) can print a lot more pages than an ink cartridge
I have like 4 laser printer in my house lmfao
And one dot matrix printer
Which is the cheapest one to print with
was at like 28 or something and now at 104 all because of the pic i took for the beast x mini
Good morning
I love these bots
Just “hello” or “good morning” in random chats at the most random times of the day
Good morning
any opinions on whether i should get a newer xbox controller or a dualsense controller for gaming on pc? or some other option?
for like rpg games
type of game that would be like third person
like ff or nier
or tomb raider
current controller is having some drift
Anyone here have decent experience with custom keyboards? I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for keyboards similar to the Zoom75? I hate to say it, but I am def falling for the trend of creamy keyboards. Not sure where to look, buy, etc.
I use a normal Xbox series controller
Never have issues
My controller is an Xbox 1 controller
It's fine, but starting to show it's wear and tear due to potentiometer joysticks
Use the series controllers
Better quality
Xbox controllers have better game compatibility on PC. With Sony controllers sometimes you get the wrong buttons in games.
Hmm alright
Hall effect swap?
Potentially, though I rather have usbc instead of usb micro b
Fair
And I'm too lazy nor have the tools to swap the connector either
At least on the ps4 controller you don't need anything besides a screwdriver to swap the port. Which is great because of how often it breaks...
favorite gaming mouse that you've tried/use?
razer viper mini, razer viper mini signature edition, gwolves hsk 4k pro, and rn beast x mini i like quite a bit
favorite, of what i have would be the viper mini
i dont think its $20 anymore like it used to be but good mouse and really good value
I like a heavier mouse since I have a habit of lifting it, so I favor the G502 Hero
(that's what happens when you grew up on trackballs)
I've tried a reasonable range of mices and for me so far it's my Razer Basilisk V3 Ultimate.
Expensive but works really well imo.
Interesting.
For me I like heavier mice as it gives me more control. I have tendonitis in both my wrists which makes it hard for me to hold my hands/fingers straight. As a result I have a hard time holding anything light without shaking.
anyone know if there was anyway to switch between Audio devices with one click
Best I can do is 3 without hotkeys
have a usb headphone and speakers hooked to the green audio port in the back have to manually switch through the audio icon down below
games on the speakers blow my ears out
Stream deck is made for things like this
Hotkeys too yeah
any recommendations on a ~50 euro color printer with a scanner and decent software + good network connectivity and phone printing (nfc would be appreciated)...? it would be perfect if it was quite compact
That's quite a unicorn you're asking for
Even basic HP printers start at like 75
Black and white Brother printers are 100 for used if you're lucky
I just realized that maybe all of that I'm asking for is a bit too much
HP DeskJet 2720e, sells for €45. Let me see if it has some of my requirements
I know there are some printers that basically let you pay few bucks for the device itself and then take every cent from you from subscriptions and ink cartridges, is this printer one of those?
Every HP printer is one of those
Yay
You either pay a monthly fee for the subscription and you only get to print 15 pages per month without extra charges, or you pay $35 per ink cartridge and HP will lock your printer if you use unofficial ones.
Well if you have any other recommendations at this point let me know, even if I have to spend almost 100 bucks.
Anything that is actually worth the money
Rtings does printer reviews
No idea what the prices will look like local to you though
Actually that Canon Pixma MG3620 looks decent at around 50 bucks
side buttons on my logitech superlight v1 are double clicking ._. is superlight 2 next purchase or try team razer for viper pro v3
You could just repair the switch
It's just a quick bend of the metal. The tricky part is getting it back on.
theo has money, buy viper pro v3
But is it any good
i use ninjutso sora which is like 39
slightly more comfortable shape offset by it being like 40% heavier
Before I hop on the wagon for the Corsair Harpoon RGB (wireless) I was told to ask in here for a mouse suggestion and was hoping for one that would be around 85-110Grams around same size (large hands), black with some RGB (or white light preferably) has a dpi around 1000-2000dpi
my previous mouse was a Steel series Prime Black ice edition but unfortunately my mouse wheel has finally given out along with it's button, and my current mouse a Steel series rival 3 (wired) is currently having mouse tracking problems and I've tried many solutions but come to find the sensor in the mouse is set a lil too far and a has slight "lod" issues (kept seeing the lod term and was a little lost on that)
54 grams is pretty light
Even me with my weaks ass arms can handle 99 grams
Or more since I did get a denser battery
tbf my mouse is 49g
but still, I can use a 70g and even 110g mouse with no real issues
54g is light but when youve been using something lighter for longer, everything heavier starts to feel like a brick. its like playing at 240hz vs 60hz. ye its fine but like, why go back
Also depends on mouse size (and skates)
I have a ROG Harpe Ace and somehow it feels heavier than a 70g logitech mouse
mouse size and how its built. i have the hyper x pulsfire haste 2 mini which is like 4 grams lighter than my death adder v3 pro but feels like its 30 grams heavier than it
despite it also being a smaller mouse
i like heavier mice
Nothing wrong with heavy mice
Anyone have suggestions for a good cheap headset, like $50 or less? I need it to be comfortable, wired, and have a decent mic
yes this
the shape they cooked is very nice though
i do use ice skates on the sora
stock ninjutso skates are rather bad
If you want
I just use tiger ice cause they cheap. Less skates has less initial friction
There's a guide on skates somewhere. Idk where but I think pulsar has one
the v3 was a slightly nicer shape but like way heavier
yeah i think less skates is faster
like less overall area
Yeah
Although I discovered that the middle piece makes the mouse faster...if you already have big skates on the top and bottom
I've wasted like 10 bucks worth of plastic skates testing it...sucks
look at something from HyperX or Steelseries. They go on sale fairly often, however HyperX is cheaper and steelseries tends to have better audio quality
Koss porta pros
Solid for $40, haven't encountered anything better yet apart from a budget condenser and IEMs
+apple dac
You might find the shape odd, they're in the fashion of old 1980's studio headsets, lightweight and portable but good speakers
The sound is a little warm, but very neutral, for something this cheap it's a bit stunning
but do they have a mic
There’s a version with a mic for $60 and reviewers say the mic is impressive
The koss?
It's $29 on drop.com but you'd have to wait a minute for the next batch to go out
https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-koss-porta-pro-x-headphones#signupv2
Would the in-line mic be decent for recording or would I need a boom mic?
For an inline mic it's quite good
But it's not like anything top tier
Think of it like
You know your mobile phone?
Like a really good mobile phone mic
It can sound good but not like, crystal clear or perfect
A cheap condenser would be likely better, especially if you can edit the audio later or use compression software like nvidia broadcast
Not all condensers are great tho
Got a few options, like seiren mini, a cheap or used modmic, there's a good fifine in the budget class iirc
It depends how much you'd want to spend total, if you went the external mic route I'd suggest one with a shock mount solution involved (either internal or mounted to an arm)
I thought about going Blue Yeti but ideally get a decent mic in a headset suits my needs
Blue yetis are old, I've worked with a lot
I don’t stream or anything but record stuff on occasion
They have a weird raw audio pitch distortion
I would say even the best Yetis don't sound the best imo
Technology has come a long way since the yetis hit the mainstream
Most streamers opt for shure now
But those are ultra premium xlr
Genuine studio mics lol
In my experience, a modmic, easily sounds better than a yeti
Just about any modmic
And if you can find one used on the cheap it'd be a solid extra
But again, for $29 the porta pros is a strong candidate on it's own
For an all rounder package imo
I've owned a modmic 3 for about, 7? Years now
I was recommended it by one of my old esports teammates
Of all the mics I've used, even against my Shure, it is shockingly good
If you could find an old one used for like $30, fabulous mic
Just googled and there's one in my area on ebay for $20

This is Aus so probably not one you could grab but this is what mine is
I'm pretty sure this is a II or III
It comes with magnets and strong 3m tape that attaches to a set of headphones
I don't think I've ever had the 3m tape fall off or peel off
Actually, I might be able to do a recording
One sec
I used to have a Behringer B1 but I never ended up using it
This looks like a good option. Though ideally in my situation I would need a USB connection. I just checked my laptops and I didn’t see a jack. They may be on the front, but the front is inaccessible with my setup
Koss was connected with an apple dac
Actually
The apple dac had an influence
Took the apple dac out
It was putting a lot of compression onto the porta pro recording
I'm actually a bit surprised, I guess I never tried them without the dac, they're better than I remember
Ye
I think listening to both uncompressed, I think the portas are kinda good enough to not even prefer the modmic
Heh, that might be the modmic showing age
I damaged it a while ago trying to adjust the angle
Years and years ago
It has two modes as well, that was iirc cardioic
Ye second mode is all directions
Omni directional ig
Compared to the blue yeti tho...
Yetis (or at least the classical yeti) have like this audio distortion effect
It really messes with the clarity?
So you get this like, I wanna say, "cheap" but that's not the money word here
But it makes it seem a lot worse side by side to equivalent competitors
It also doesn't have any noise reduction afaik, absolutely just raw capture
You'd want to use compression software for noise or background noise cancelling
Though I think the other two aren't totally free of that either, but they're both a lot more clear sounding imo
I might try the other modmic mode rq
Nah the second mode sounds worse haha
I'm backtracking a little now, I think the porta pros are just good, the only catch being the mic might twist and get covered, or that it sits down at the chest level, so it mightn't quite sound as consistent as the recording you just heard
I was holding it down there but a bit raised so it didn't mess with the recording
So if you did say this:
https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-koss-porta-pro-x-headphones#signupv2
https://www.amazon.com/Apple-USB-C-Headphone-Jack-Adapter/dp/B07KDR2JPG/
Did the apple dac disappear off amazon us?
I can find it in AU but not US
Well it's on the apple store
Normally the above link works but this is only $2 more
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MU7E2AM/A/usb-c-to-35-mm-headphone-jack-adapter
Grab this and the headphones off drop and you'd be at $38
Then potentially tax and shipping might get it closer to $50-ish
Man I really ranted on there for a while

It’s all good. If there’s a usb-c adapter as above that should work for me
That one has a built-in dac
It's like as good as you can buy for a dac up until like $140 lol
And there wouldn’t be auto compression?
It won't drive really strong headphones tho but the portas are ok with them
Hmm
I mean you saw the mic change
I think you'd get that with the territory yeah, but it does make the audio a lot nicer
Could always alternate
Use the adapter for casual time
Plug straight into pc for streaming
Lol
I mean yeah, it's not like my topping dac, but it does disgustingly well for a $7 dac
I was gonna respond with GPUs be like, then you edited
It made me question why I spent so much on a dac+amp combo lol
mine is the schiit

schiit tastic audio
I definitely can say the portas are better than most of every gaming headset I've tried or heard tho
for reference this is a real company @neon forum https://www.schiit.com/
Cloud II's are good, though I do think they're sort of like, the least evil rather than the best choice
I assumed so

As far as gaming sets, cloud II's are about as good as it gets, bar PC37x, PC38x
Lol
Yeah, I believe you. I might opt for the version with the mic and get the adapter. That seems like it could be the best route
Sounds good. Just be wary they do preorders and send the portas out in batches
So if you need something a lot sooner, you might want to maybe try an alternative shop or place for them
Or dial back to the other suggestions
Yeah, I saw on Amazon there’s a version with a boom mic
Nice
It’s close to what I paid for the ones I bought to replace my old ones but I’m gonna return them. I don’t want wireless. I want wired
And I don’t want to deal with charging nonsense
And for recording I don’t want to introduce latency
Yeah I get that
I remember my older wireless headset was annoying
More annoying was it cutting out tho
Poor signal or low battery
Lol
I'm waiting for another set of those portas atm
Version without the headband
Hope they ship some day 😭
💀
Think it's been like, 2 months? Since I preordered these, the portas came much faster
I don’t generally go for on ear, but I’ll give these a shot
I mean, the above I mentioned
Ah yeah, if you prefer iems, there are some really strong candidates there
I'm no good with them, I've tried all shapes and sizes for a couple years, had no end to discomfort and irritation
But they're really powerful audio for a low price, but I'm not as well read on those
I use an er2xr in ears but that's probably outside of your budget
It's very nice though
Does get kinda uncomfortable after a while, I can't really wear them for more than let's say like 2-4 hours.... (Though more because I need to be able to hear at times)
And then I use a q45 as a daily driver.....
Which also would be outside of your budget
Lmfao
Tbh if I were to go back, I probably would have spent the slightly higher price for the se version which is a fully flat curve
Though the xr aren't bad, the bass boost is tasteful, and I can still hear everything clearly
And then the mic I use.....
Also outside of your budget

theres a google sheet
and also a boardzy video you can find probably

I have made an executive decision an have bought a wooting 60he module 🗿
🗿
@dire tartan o hi
thanks for showing me your address
V2 is also like $60 less and only a bit different
V2 pro
2g more, slightly different finish
Slightly different shape
v3 is more like like a g pro x superlight
v2 bit more narrow and decently lower hump
v2 is also older and not entirely sure if it has the hyper dongle or not
think they only started incluing the hyper dongle in box with the vmse and the v3.
my deathadder v3 pro i had to buy the hyper dongle for it
So got lucky and found a Logitech G403 hero for $20 and once I'm home I get to use a working mouse with adjustable weight
I just got the VXE R1 Pro Max for $42 with the 4K dongle
Love it so far
Off /r/hardwareswap
update: The perfect mouse for me the 403 and software very simple and easy to use
yes
yeah they exist
if it has a good review, yes
Hi, looking for some advice. whenever I use the in built mic on my earphones, the audio quality tends to suffer too much, so much that the game is basically inaudible. I dont rly have an inbuilt mic or an external one for my pc. What can i do?
Will this issue persist with other earphones too? This is the third one i've got and i've noticed the same thing all 3 times
I use the one plus buds, and used boat bt buds before this
That sounds like bluetooth compression issues to me. You might need a newer bluetooth card.
(i had recommended them to get a usb mic or such when they asked in general)
I had issues with using bluetooth headsets on windows 11. Idk why, but switching to a wired headset fixed it. If I joined discord, I couldn't even hear the game at all while in a discord call. None of the fixes I found online worked. If you have a wired headset, try that.
Is there any chance the microsoft display dock (intended for lumia 950) works with other devices too?
In theory it should work with other usb-c 3.1 phones
If the port supports display output
So it works with samsung dex
But you will need a lumia 950 to update the dock's firmware
A firmware update for the dock? Lol
Is there a way to do that without the lumia? Sounds like something you could do from a pc too
~maybe~
Not without downloading the specific firmware update app's apk
Which isn't a public download
So you'll need to run the lumia's OS in an android emulator to go that route and hope it can communicate properly
Is that a50x headset worth the cash?
they're well built
and are pretty good for wireless gaming
but you could get something wired with similar audio quality for less than a quarter the price
and you're basically only going to be using it for gaming, or maybe at home; not a very good travel headphone
it has terrible noise isolation and has fairly bad sound leakage, especially considering that they are not open backs
its a pretty good shape tbh. Altho, Rtings only touches mainstream gaming gear, and of course Razer is right there with the V3 Pro
What they review is determined by member votes, so that'll bias the selection towards more well known or hyped up stuff.
at least it makes common stuff easy to decide
Common.
I think most people know what keychron is, if they Google computer equipment
Dt 990 pro and The Logitech g studio microphone?
Is that a good headphone and mic combo?
for $350 id just say f it and just buy the shure sm7b especially over that mic from logitech 💀
asus just doing random ass side quests now. also 47g for a carbon fiber shell is crazy. glass skates too with rog print on it. calling it now and saying that rog is gonna charge like $400 for this
what the heck
I dont even think the ROG Harpe Ace was that successful either
...47g for carbon fiber seems kinda...heavy...imo
i expect in the 30s if ur trying to use actual carbon fiber
They don't have an interface if assume though
The Samson q9u might be better since it also has a built in dac
Or maybe like
At2040usb
PC38x
Or Drop koss porta pro
Otherwise go iem and a finine condenser on a boom
@primal pawn I am slowly learning the ways of the keeb
today I found CK720

I have learneded is not that bad'ed'ed
now get some new switches and mod your stabilizers
bought a wooting keyboard. ive adapted to it faster than i thought i would but im at 0.6mm actuation insterad of 0.1mm. 0.1 is way too sensitive still for me and even at 0.6 its still pretty senstive and im messing up a bit but not as much as 0.1
wooting module i should say, not the full keyboard. threw it into a tofu case
@neon root is gud?
idk really. definitely more responsive than a normal keyboard but feel as though it heavily depends on the player and the game where you can take advantage of it. felt a lot nicer playing cs2 with this over my normal keyboard but playing xdefiant it feels about the same if not worse because im accidently pressing a or d and strafing back when i dont mean too
they give some decent stuff in the box as well if needed. pre-installed silicone between the plate and pcb and they give foam instead if you want to swap out the silicone but also they have just foam for you to put under into the case. they also gave some extra longer screws and some o-rings which is nice
Yeah optical is like that
I tend to swap between optical and typing on my modded mini
You might see me occasionally half type a message
Like thi
Cos I brushed enter on accident lol
thats how i am but when just trying to type normal words or i accidently press space and cut off a word that goes into another word
Gah I hate doing that. I go for the ' and hit enter. I prefer keebs with a recessed enter key.
havent tried it yet and dont plan on it, but i feel as though rainbow players would also probably benefit from a keyboard like this as well
@neon root idk why talking about this made it occur to me now after years
Why the hell don't I set a deep actuation for my enter key????

even more big brain move, put a bunch of silicone or foam under the enter key so then you have to press down even harder on it
could anybody help me with my blue yeti ive tried two different cables and my pc still isnt recognizing the microphone thanks
could be dead or potentially windows is recognizing it but as something else like "generic usb device" or something or its under a different name
or just really bad luck and the 2 cables youre using are bad
Not even a usb device connected sound?
its not being recognized as anything tried 3 different data cables with it on different ports no connection sound when I plug it in but it gets power
Interesting
Considering that other usb devices are working, and 3 cables and different ports aren't working, I think it's safe to assume that the mic may be dead
any good mouse recs? roccat 122 aimo finally gave out and I was just about to get another one but appears theyve been fully acquired by turtle beach. I have a relaxed claw grip, and am open to any mouse or brand pretty much
Keychron has been making some interesting mice recently
would you go for one of their wired or wireless ones
I believe all of their new ones are wireless now
oh you right they only have one wired
My HP Officejet Pro 8015e, fresh out of the box, refuses to connect to our network to complete setup
There's a reason HP is the most hated printer brand
Alright, what should we get instead?
what's the expected duty cycle
if you have a crap load of prints, xerox
brother and canon are also generally fairly good
if prints are mmore rare, (only printing occasionally) a laser printer would be a good choice so it doesnt dry
It's not a crap load
would you say that it's more than 100 pages a week? or 10 or less pages a week
10
or less fewer
i'll assume you don't need colour printing or scanning: Brother HL-L2460DW
if you need scanning and dont need colour: Brother MFC-L2750DW
Burn the HP printer to the ground, you need to subscribe to use the damn thing
You pay per page and if you don't pay you can't use it at all
I forgot about the subscription printer
Actually I did the math a while back, and it was worth it if you printed like over 200 pages a month since the subject includes the ink
Forgot the exact numbers
I don't think they have a 200 page plan?
I forget
I just remember 100 pages
Anything over you still gotta pay per page and it's like a buck
It was some larger amount of pages, purely because of ink costs
But yeah, especially for 10 pages a week, wouldn't be worth the subscription
Definitely a waste
#general-chat message didn't write down the math, but apparently I said over 100 pages a month was worth the price
The HP subscription is so stupid. Even the "free" plan. Your unused pages used to roll over, now they don't. Oh you haven't used your printer in 6 months but now you need to print 20 resumès? Expect to find a charge on your credit card because you had the gall to use more than your allotted 10 pages.
Incredible greed
Real
Debating if I should adapt one of the unused M.2 ports on my motherboard to PCIE so I can install a USB 3.0 card. Any cables yall would recommend?
mainly doing it as im quickly running out of usable USB ports on my ITX mobo and the NR200p has 2 additional gpu slots I could use
It would be a lot cheaper and easier to just use a USB hub. I recommend a powered one if you get more than 5 or 6 ports.
I have an Atolla hub and it just went kaput :( might as well get another one tho
M.2 cards with 2 USB headers are $30, and that only adds 3 ports (2 type A and one type C) and then you still need the cables to run to the PCIe slot covers so you can access them.
For the same price you can get a 7 port powered hub from a reliable brand like Anker.
in anime we trust 🙏
Is this hp officeJet 3833 good?
This one is €30, I'm looking for one that doesn't cost thousands just for a bunch of prints, don't want any sorts of subscriptions to be able to use the printer. I basically want to be free from all the hp taxes, hopefully this one is ok
My main requirements are: good printing quality, wifi printing (nfc would also be appreciated), "cheap" compatible cartridges and a flatbed scanner
The cheapest per print printer I own is a dot matrix
Ended up getting it for €25, it is basically brand new, + it has both cartridges (likely used) but I think it was a fair purchase
Check the ink cartridges and see if they're "instant ink" ones. Once a printer uses those, it's locked into the subscription plan permanently.
As expected they're not from the hp subscription. They also said it got used rarely so subscription would likely be a waste of money
Ok well keep in mind the cartridges dry out roughly every 9 months and they're going to be about 60 Euros each to replace. If you use all of it then you can refill the cartridge. The printer might not like that depending on firmware.
302xl (both) can be bought for €25. At least one print per day average.
Really? That has to be aftermarket cartridges
Which will work as long as it never had the instant ink
Likely
https://medium.com/@prinscansolution01/how-do-i-bypass-hp-instant-ink-34390555316a
Just in case hehe
Btw I'm never going to subscribe
I didnt even know HP had a subscription service for Printing
good to know. Never buying a printer from em
They'll tempt you with promises of free ink but it's only "free" in the sense that as long as you don't use it, then it's free.

wait redragon made a rapid trigger board?
Redragon K617 Rapid Trigger Keyboard is designed with magnetic switches, ensuring heightened precision and durability. Its tunable rapid trigger guarantees lightning-fast responsiveness, complemented by an 8KHZ polling rate and dynamic keystrokes for unparalleled performance. It's the top choice for FPS gamers seeking immersive gameplay.
15% off sale puts it at $55, free shipping
custom switches can haave pretty high polling rates I think
my evga board has optical switches (I think?) and they can go to 4k
I dont even know what you need the polling rate for
I understand reduced latency, idk why but i know it should
If I was looking for a keyboard I might choose this
basically (for example) a 1hz polling rate only checks for an update once per second
it's a bit like tickrate in videogames I think, if that makes more sense
but say you press the button, you could theoretically have a .999 delay before it registers since the key is only polling once per second
up the polling rate, lower the posible latency
for keyboard I dont know why it would work because for mice its about how often the mouse refreshes on screen
higher polling would theoretically...mean smoother movement
8k seems excessive for a keyboard, seeing as 4000 is already .25ms
only up to your monitors refresh rate. After that it just reduces latency
yep
I personally didnt like it. twitchy hands
& I guess increases precision maybe
it does, but not if you have shakey hands lol
also the fact that my mouse was a qc-nightmare G-wolves hts didnt help
According to this post redragon has made a bunch of mag swich boards?
https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/17znfnd/rapid_trigger_keyboards/
Redragon - M61 / K683-WB Fidd / M68 / K701-WB / K617 Fizz / K630
Anyone know a good rapid trigger keyboard/mouse
@west hornet @neon root thoughts on op18k?
wooting is the known keyboard for the rapid trigger but arbiter studio's polar65 and drunkdeer are also good options and cheaper. the drunkdeer would probably be the better option of the 2
good. pretty much everything from egg is good
holy sadge its out of stock but these were discounted heavily. they said it would be but damn, $15 is a steal imo for these pads
what the hell is boardzy doing to the strawberry mouse 💀
What the...is it not wide enough?!
What even is that? Grip tape covered in clay with grip tape on top?
It’s the wolf special
The customzy grip tape
great for 25 bucks
i like this ergo shape a little less than the sora shape but
W secondary mouse for when my sora v2 dies
claymaxxing for the gwolves strawberry is insane
i wanna buy the mouse just so i can put the clay on the mouse
lmao
Big hands
Wth
I'll make you claymaxx
Jesus christ. Just buy a cheaper mouse and clay-fix it, WHY TO THE LIGHTWEIGHT MOUSE
To make it just the right weight
Got the ksc75x's
They're very nice
So much so, it's made me fall in love with my phone all over again
I knew the dac in this was good, but never had a pair of headphones that could demonstrate the strength of them over my little apple dac dongle
I uhh
Can definitely notice with these
It's a bit WHOA

Huge leap in power and clarity
Yeah they both have the detail, phone just has a lot more punch. I've never noticed this before with like any other headset
If anything the detail is clearer
Ok no I know why it was doing it now
Dolby enabled itself with this new ai feature
Honestly? Wasn't bad tho
Lol
It just sounds loud without it
sale ends very soon so prob no one gonna see it but $30 gecko mousepad with free shipping and also addice giving away some free mouse skates from esptiger
https://www.addiceinc.com/products/errennir-gecko-large-gaming-mousepad
guess i shouldve posted sooner. sale ends at midnight

they had a timer going on the page for when the sale ended for the gecko, guess not i guess
still good deal. $30, free US shipping and free tiger skates with any purchase
Those timers are often meant to use psychology to manipulate you into buying, using the fear of missing out against you.
still good buy
so much so, i might buy a second to give away
and get skates for my deathadder
Yeah most of the time you can just open the site again on a different PC/browser/incognito tab and you'll get the offer again.
shouldnt need either theoretically? do you not have a mic in port
kinda interesting that it uses trrs though?
looking at rode though, it seems like trrs lavaliers are made for directly connecting to a pc, and trs lavaliers are used for cameras and other audio equipment
yeah it seems like the trrs is just used to trick devices with combo jacks to think that there is a headset plugged in
do other mics work? recently someone had a similar ish issue with their mic not working, and apparently there was some privacy setting on windows that disabled the mic
you could test to see if it works on your phone if you still have a headphone jack lmao
but your mic shouldnt need an adapter for a pc
Yes work on my phone
likely a setting on windows then
I will try it on my New case tomorrow
did you try it on the mobo io, or on the case?
hmm
