iirc you have to pledge $194 at the kickstarter to get one
but funding may have ended yesterday not sure
Oo I preordered this
The barebone is 194
which means you have to buy your own switches right? Those are like $30
I got the full keyboard is $214 which was only $5 less than the website
noice
o
š
so many different infos on these
idk what to buy anymore
q1 he seems good
well we'll see in like a month or so anyway
think theyre supposed to ship out in feb?
damn late februray
@neon root someone is asking me, are there any skates you prefer for speed?
tiger ice skates
cheap, good, fast
maybe not cheap, but good and fast
have you tried jades or whatever they are called
jade skates from xraypad? have not tried them
might try them out though, they seemt o be on sale. time to buy another custom mousepad from them along with skates
kk
Jades are very similar. Id say they're around the same but the jades are wider and thicker, allowing more clearance to the mousepad
So for like, a g pro super light, jades are better
A fine gamer meal
WHY
i got 2 superglides, why not use 1 as a plate
The pain
when i get paid, ill buy a burger and fries to put onto my plate
probably not
but it is sink safe
easy to clean since its glass
i posted the picture in my friends discord and they all got mad at me
sounds like extra unnecessary work š
imagine the paint stripping while washing it with other crockery I can't
its glass on top of the design so shouldnt be a problem
but will let you guys know later down the line
If u notice like
you seem to be suffering from lead or acryllic poisoning
then yeah lmk
š
otherwise send supreme a suggestion into their inbox
"GAMER CROCKERY? HOW 'BOUT IT?"
man I'm so tired
it's not supreme

freaking pulsar
ill be down to buy some Supreme gaming gear
3k for a mousepad
just for it to be worse than a random $3 mousepad
lol
why do their branding have to look so similar
I've made that mistake before, silly marketing
You about to use Windex to clean it or something?
ive found a cursed post on twitter that i dont think should be shared here but im gonna be quitting the mouse hobby if more people are like this
g502 is not that good of a mouse to require a jar
idk whats wrong with people at times
aight, this one is more cursed than putting food on a glass mousepad. putting pizza on an otsu
I recommend
So I'm looking to get a new headset for my pc. I need something comfortable for long play sessions. But also good audio quality. I tried looking up top headsets but every site is different.
Forgot to say this but mic is not necessarily needed but if it does have one I don't mind. Also wireless is needed
Why is that?
From my experience with my arctis 1 wireless, there's a difference between wired and wireless mode
Can't say much about bt since it lacks bt
It uses 2.4ghz wireless
Normally you want a good dac+amp, which usually prefers wired
They have BT DAC's
It's also just the case of
Most of all gaming headsets in general are 300% gamer
10% actual audio
ye
I really like my arctis's sound but I'm sensitive to flatter, clearer sound profiles anyway
Ears no likey with tinnitus
Ima suggest pc38x again
It's not wireless
But 3m cable or something stupid long
It may as well be wireless
By good audio I mean be able to hear bullet directions and footsteps when I'm playing games like dayz for example. Of course there are other games but that one is the one that first came to mind.
I like wireless because it allows me to still be able to hear the game and discord while in another room. Lol
You guys have any tips on how to make my cables look clean? I am currently wrapping them together with Velcro to make it look like one big cable then making a ring with the excess cable at my computer's USB connection.
more waiting
woah
i also have this gamesense radar still lying around that ill giveaway at some point
that one specifically is unused. still new in the box. bought that one to do a giveaway and bought the asuka one for use, this one
i also have the yuki aim x gamesense sonar one but its xxl and now sits in the closet because after buying it i remembered why i dont like xxl mousepads
the base is nothing to write home about. good but not great but not bad. the surface though is a good control surface but not super muddy
HOLY i just checked their website and the Sonar, their glass pad, is $54 rn
actually insane price for a glass pad granted its a slow glass pad but still nice
a while ago my sister gave me her logitech g305 and I used it for a bit, didn't like it, also had a double click issue which isn't really relevant, and now when i tried using it again it won't turn on but the bluetooth dongel thingy will be recognized by my pc as just USB receiver
Is it out of battery?
other mouse worked w'/ the battery im using rn
time to wait for more moneys. gonna do unthinkable and buy the hyperx pulsefire haste 2 mini
I'm trying to do this thing where I reconnect the receiver with this thing
(I wouldve copped it if I didn't spend so much on video Games)
but it doesn't seem to work
the first pulsefire i actually kinda liked. haste 2 should be an upgrade and no holes and now smol which is a plus for me since i like smaller mice. just have to hope that when i reinstall their software its not as horrid
I never had a logitech mouse break on me for real, so unfortunately I can't help as much. RN all I can say is try checking the insides for dust, see if anything is unplugged or loose or anything
this reddit post seems like it can help a bit:
The only issue I really had with the og haste was that it was a tad bit too wide and maybe long
but now idk, i got used to higher rear humps on my hts+
nvm, bought it now instead of waiting till i got paid again
insane random ass promo code
$16 off is insane
free shipping is 3 to 5 business days so like wednesday to friday next week roughly
honestly, i wonder if that promo code works on stuff thats on sale cause the first pulsefire haste wired is $40
but like, why would you anyway? (wired goes for like 25$ sometimes)
for other stuff then, hyperx has decent headsets if you want specifically a gaming headset
actually
i think even if theyre on sale theyre cheaper on amazon at times
guess only good for new items that wont be going on sale any time soon
You could even say...Radical dude
what's a good mouse for double clicking? price idm but
nothing crazy like over 200+
something that's reasonable
? a mice that double clicks, allows fast double-clicking or has a doubleclick button?
cause double clicking usually means the mouse is broken
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G502-Performance-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07GBZ4Q68?th=1
This you can program so clicking is binded to the scroll wheel
But in general, most logitech mice are really easy to spam
Logitech updated its iconic G502 gaming mouse to deliver even higher performance and more precise functionality than ever. You can make a macro for your buttons that double clicks, or auto clicks. Those are fun to break games with when they aren't prepared for you to click 100 times on "accept" before the window gets a chance to go away.
2 clicks in one. I donāt mean broken mouse button.
Wouldnāt work, considering Iām playing minecraft with it
Will a 2m 3.5mm jack extension cable affect audio quality if I already have 2m cable on my headphones?
suppose if you really get down to the nitty gritty, some cables are better than others for signal *quality yes, there's a whole niche for that specific subject
but signal loss? not really
not in any reasonable capacity over 4m I would think
I have really basic headphones, nothing amazing, so I guess I won't hear any differences, nor will the mic quality get worse ig
Thanks for the info
I assume you've tried the GPro Superlight? It's got natural finger rests and easily clickable buttons
I donāt like it honestly, itās a nice mouse but it feels like itāll break everytime I try clicking on it cause of how light it is
I have a viper ultimate but itās kinda small for my hands
Plus I canāt ādouble clickā on it
Ah I gotcha
I can't say much for what is better then. I used nice like the pulsar x2 mini that was good but kinda hurt
Burst pro air is pretty good, just a tad bit heavy and bad skates
Look into Vaxee too if you can. They make some good mice
My speakers are going out and I was wondering what is a good 2.1 set
Rtings is doing switches now
https://youtu.be/RMKbFbQWqFo?si=NHgHW3bdwgTDhP_b
We updated our keyboard latency testing, and throughout that process, we realized that we weren't helping you all as much as we could have since we were only purchasing one type of switch on each keyboard. The initial plan was to create a switch database to help us in the future, but if we were going to test a bunch of switches⦠why keep that in...
Feel like itās lowkey a waste of time
Most switches are just recolors, the difference between most modern switches are minuscule and most ppl end up lubing or breaking in
That's just one of the tests they're doing, and they do mention that lube changes the feel
where objective sound comparison
Check the site for reviews once it's launched. Unless it is already, I didn't look.
Oh it is up
Im curious on yalls opinions on the pc38x? I personally love my pair, good ol sennies has never let me down, but is there even any headsets that contest it at its current price range? Just out of sheer curiousity
Yeah I donāt recall seeing too much other competition in that headphone space
is this screen cleaner good for monitors? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PHVDTDW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
sadge, my hyperx pulsefire haste mini was delayed
dont know anything of that one but one i use is called whoosh!. works good
Probably shouldnt be doing this but i finally swapped out the ptfe skates on my rvmse to the glass skates that came with it and using it on my resin mousepad
fastest combo in the west
this thing is moving so effortlessly and quick, insane
wont use it 24/7 on the resin
I have $226 after tax to buy a monitor

Oop i hate android links
But thats your best bet id say personally (it is a curved monitor as a heads up)
Also as a seperate matter, im having no luck finding a longer cord of this exact shape but longer and im hoping someone is able to help solve my niche issue

27" 1080p tho
Should be about right
Depends on your state tho
Is this on sale?
I would insta buy this but I have to think cause Iām not a huge asus fan
Tbf they never specified size
There is also a 1440p 240hz ips display for 250usd somewhere in #tech-deals
it is on sale
What about this one? AOC 24G2ZE 23.8" 16:9 Full HD 240Hz IPS WLED LCD Gaming Monitor, Black/Red https://a.co/d/aWP9zNa
Doesn't seem to be on sale
Don't be a fan of any brand
It is but I would rather have 240hz than 1440p
Why? Do you play a lot of first person shooters competitively?
Also what gpu you on?
1440p tends to be a lot more noticeable of an upgrade than 240hz, but if you play competitive 240hz could make a difference for you
If you play casually the QOL of 1440p is so much nicer
I went from 1080p165hz to 1440p 165hz and the difference is night and day
I play shooters yes even with a 1440p monitor I would still play on 1080p
Building gpu with 7600

Play on low settings anyways so quality dosent really matter
Ah alr, not sure I'd run 1440p an a 7600 anyways
This is solid

I love astros and I'm thinking about getting some A50s. Are there any massive problems or flaws with them?
they're just logitech
wait.. they're $240?
yeowch
if you don't mind open backs and wired
there's pc38x
otherwise cloud ii wireless
I would go with these because I need wireless. But what makes these better than the A50s?
value, sound quality
Are they comfortable for long gaming sessions? And what about the cloud iii wireless? Are they the newer version of the cloud ii?
yes to both
240 also gets pretty close to the maxwells price
When are new headsets normally dropped every year? Does anyone know/keep track of that?
Like headphones? I donāt think they release new ones very often, itās not like phones where there is a new one every year
Even big brands like sony and bose their ones are only every 2 years or so seemingly whenever
I think people are starting to realize that gaming doesn't mean better.
If you're using Astro EQ presets, going with astro is no brainer. Especially if you're only going to game with them (no music/movies)
Also with wireless headsets, you need to look at mic quality, if you don't already have an external microphone
I have to highly recommend the corsair hs80 too(with a eq curve), can be found very cheap sounds good, but most importantly extremely comfy
Yeah, I bought a pair of those on sale, decent audio and good mic
Anyone have any idea about Valgazza Case - ROG Strix?
Yeah I could careless about the mic. I have a yeti so I'm set on that. The only things I need are wireless, good audio and comfortable. And ik before when I have asked for wireless with good audio. Somebody said that wireless and good audio quality don't go all that well together. Atleast compared to a pair of wired headsets.
I think you should be good if the headset has a dedicated dongle, but if it has bluetooth, that's when you start noticing compression and latency.
My Sony WH1000xm3's have a noticeable delay when watching streams, but my hs80's are fine
Also with wireless, headsets tend to be heavier than wired
Dav3 3d print, doesn't feel bad so far. Haven't gamed with it yet. Down to ~28 grams
I've had the wired version for a while, not sure if there's a way to add a battery
My bad I was thinking about dav3 pro
Just that the unused slot there looks like a battery port
Haha, that's actually for the side buttons š¬
also not sure if you did it to reduce weight or if you also like high scroll wheels but if youre a high scroll wheel enjoyer, big w
i really dislike when scroll wheels are damn near flush with the mouse buttons
Haha it was done by accident lol. But yeah, I agree
Looking for a mic that is fairly good and also has a app that can control things like noise suppression
What's your budget?
How much background noise do you have? And do you have a mic stand already?
Do you want something ready out of the box or would you want something that you can put together?
Some background noise like keyboard since mechanical and don't have a arm
For it
Besides keyboard and at times a animal not much noise
Okay, is it mainly for gaming? Audio quality isn't super important?
Yea, want fairly good quality but does not need to be like super good
Okay, you could pick up a mic stand (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DHLSTLV) Link is for large size, but there's a cheaper medium size as well.
and one of these (https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATR2100x-USB-Cardioid-Microphone-ATR/dp/B07ZPBFVKK)
Since it's dynamic, it should cut out most of the noise. One downside is that you'll have to have it right up to your face when you talk.
Most gaming mics are condensor mics, which pick up everything around you. So if you want to look into it further, look up dynamic mics
Anyone know how bad the lenovo tx62s are?
which do i do. tempted to do ice blue since its the only with cat patterns on the mouse and i think the only one with the cat dongle
I thought there were multiple different ones with a cat dongle
Didn't the black one have one?
(also yes you need the cat)
think the black one has a cat
think black, pink, and violet have the cat
theyre $150 instead of the others at $140
blue ice at $160
im beyond help. i have so many hobbies
only hobby i havent fully delved into is gunplas
i have 3 figures and they were presents from my aunt
Send me a mouse
Anyone else find it ironic that a mouse is dressed up in cat decorations
Almost like it's tattoos of it's cat victims

I dont think i could ever justify spending that much money on a mouse, my wallets are too barren š
These are the ones that are not in display cases
theyre also the main ones that i like and use quite a bit and switch around
It's the part that says "not in display cases" when I start to realise just how down bad you are
pulsar x2 might go into a display case since i have the la-1 superlight
dont ask about my mousepads
if the base of them are good enough

i have to pry it off my desk, thing is stuck

I envy your being able to do that š
dont believe so

its still available to purchase, they havent sold all of them yet
Lol I have a low profile. Favorite keyboard

or just not using a brass plate
like no reason besides looks since its def not gonna sound good
looking for a rec on a mech keyboard, good for gaming but also doesnt suck to type on. its gotta thock, and its gotta look cool. i also dont wanna build or mod anything. is it keychron? i dunno... what should i buy
keychron is fantastic
we love them
I've a k4 from them, best keyboard I've owned
Keychron is a pretty easy go to here
which is fair, since I've never had another keyboard over $30
Is it k2 v2?
I think that's one I often suggest
Has a hotswap version
Also one sec
Rtings
Does switches now

Not sure how good this source is but they have a huge amount of information
If you feel like drawing from this for a bit more of an informed choice
Rtings seems to focus more on sound and feel, with latency and specs as a bit of an afterthought

Usb vs. PCIe capture cards, what do I need to know?
Make sure it's rated for the resolution you want to record at. 4k ones are hard to find.
They are? I see pages of results on 'wegg with "4k emblazoned on the devices
Sure but they're probably low Hz 4k
elgato
if you already have a lot of usb stuff already, id just go pcie. usb dropouts arent fun when trying to record with a usb capture card
granted i have an itx build but there are some people that have that kind of issue even with normal builds
main 2 companies youll be looking at are elgato and avermedia
My new motherboard only has 2 pcie slots. I love M.2 slots, but let's not forget what that area is really for
Well, 2 after the primary video card slot
another mousepad to add to my collection
how much do you spend on mousepads a year

You can't eat pancakes on the same mousepad...
well its glass, so i can
no one's stopping you
and no one will
today
and one on sunday
and one on the 12th
the one on the 12th tho was for the neptune pro which doesnt ship out till early april
thats a preorder that dont count
butt...still
key question tho, do you even use one mousepad consistently?
or are you buying them to look at and go woooooow
for like, a month or 2 and then i switch, use that for a month or two. if i actually really do like the mousepad, ill keep it in rotation like the freefall sv base control 2
dream gamer glass pad i really enjoy and keep that in rotation
currently rn im using a npet mousepad which is really fun to use
do photography as well time to time
think the only mousepad i really didnt use or give a fair chance to was the vaxee mousepad i bought
used it for like 2 weeks and didnt like how slow it was and also its not stitched so i feared itd meet the same fate as my really old qck of just it tearing/separating at the edges
same goes for mice. the mice i do like i still have on my desk that i rotate out and ones that i dont like or have upgraded from are in display cases
SteelSeries Apex Pro HyperMagnetic Gaming Keyboard ā World's Fastest Keyboard ā Adjustable Actuation ā OLED Screen ā RGB ā USB Passthroughā https://a.co/d/bGZ7Ls3 Is this a good keyboard? I'm starting to realize I'm going to need a new one. The one I have has been acting really weird.
The Apex Pro is the world's fastest and first Hall Effect magnetic switch gaming keyboard. Featuring OmniPoint 2.0 Adjustable HyperMagnetic Switches with Rapid Trigger, total adjustability of actuation points, and 2-in-1 Acton keys for 20x quicker actuation and 11x faster response, all while play...
That's gross overkill in terms of cost
You can get 2 entire hot swappable custom mechanical keyboards for that amount
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k10-pro-qmk-via-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40398046134361
@slim saddle
Keychron K10 Pro QMK/VIA Wireless Mechanical Keyboard allows anyone to master any keyboard keys or macro commands through VIA, it has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hot-swap with any MX mechanical switch in a breeze.
Sure it doesn't have the OLED screen on the keyboard or the Steelseries software
But it's a hot swappable (meaning you can replace each switch if it breaks or you want the keyboard feel different, which the Steelseries to my knowledge cannot do) proper mechanical keyboard that costs half as much
And it's VIA compatible which means you can make per-key RGB profiles, remap every single key and then some
Also wireless
Just a whole lot better value than those "GaMeR" keyboards
Yeah I'd NEVER pay 200 USD for a non-hotswap board, no matter how fancy the switches are
nah apex pro is nice
although wooting i think is a bit better for now
but 200$ is alot
LGG has a sale going on granted its mainly xraypads theyre selling. $13 is pretty gud
Any recommendations for a decent, cheap microphone? It's just going to be used for zoom calls and occasionally discord, doesn't have to be anything crazy good. Basically as long as it isn't ewaste let's say within $25?
If no non ewaste options I'll spend more
Iirc fifine k-669 is decent for 30$
I ended up grabbing a solocast for $28 from amazon warehouse, ty for the response
fair
not bad for 28
Yeah its certainly more than enough for what it's gonna be used for lol
I mean it could be nice, but getting hotswap full size for half the price makes it moot
Unless you wanna go hardcore Steelseries ecosystem ig
it's the analog switches
or well a pretty decent copy of wooting's tech
it's basically a keyboard with cheat mode enabled, if you utilize it well
wait which one came first, apex pro or wooting?
apex pro actually
but steelseries managed to add this feature through firmware updates
tbf I kinda don't give a rip about that
but swallowing that high a cost is just no for me
Admittedly I've never had any of those switches near me to test
i mean wooting is that expensive too
but I don't see the point personally over a good Cherry MX brown set
cherry brown is one of the worst switches you could get lmao
I wonder if there is a hotswap-compatible wooting set
knockoff blues exist lmao
which I am using right now
or membrane, ew
it's the worst of tactile tbh, scratchy as hell with weak bump
anyhow
I'm guessing you can't get hotswap-compatible analogue switches anywhere right?
you can
there's keychron
it's actually on kickstarter
but you could pledge $200 for fully built one
Ah Keychron the GOAT
I can't find it on Kickstarter ngl
besides if you have a good hotswap keeb already you can always just get the switches once they become available and swap them in
nah, they need firmware that supports them too tbh
I'm gonna admit tho
I don't really get this craze of "Just touch and activate" since I always bottom out my keys
basically always anyway
guess I'm too used to the old crappy membranes where you have to bottom out or nothing happens
it apparently is that good to have if you game
since your inputs are registered instantly as your brain commands
I'm not going to the next CS Major if that's what you mean
you can program them to have variable actuation too
Besides at the level of gaming where you need that tiny advantage you're getting sponsored for every peripheral, PC part and probably even your underwear
so like buying it with your own money makes little sense to me
unless you just wanna show off
but yeah most I'd spend on a keeb if I paid for it is 100-120 bucks
even that only begrudgingly
Now if it was given to me for free in a sponsor deal then sure it's a great thing
For example I might think the Everest Max is really cool and I'd love to have it
But I just can't justify spending 180 euros on it (though it does have modularity going for it, but even that's not tipping the scale over)
theyre nice and for the people who might find it useful theyre good keyboards
and not alot of people find use in hotswap tbh
Repairability
I'd say that's a pretty big thing
"Oh no my Shift key no longer works, time to buy a whole new 100 dollar keyboard I guess"
Vs
"Oh crap, my Shift key's acting up, I'mma replace that switch and be up in no time"
meh
9/10 ur not gonna have that issue
apex pro and wooting keyboards are unique enough for the price
if u find the features good enough then whatever
Ye I don't really care for the "Fine tunable" switch
Again I don't use it for anything that requires that sort of stuff nor do anything that'd take advantage of it
Sure a CS/Valorant/Fortnite pro would probably appreciate it but they get sponsored for every piece of kit imaginable anyway
Honestly I think you're more likely to find practical use form a hotswap board than the adjustable switches
Cuz again
A hotswap keyboard is pretty much infinitely repairable (unless you like break the circuit board inside somehow or corrode the connections)
They took it off Kickstarter and put it on preorder I think
https://www.keychron.com/collections/keychron-q-he-series-keyboard/products/keychron-q1-he-qmk-wireless-custom-keyboard
Keychron Q1 HE is a full metal QMK wireless keyboard with Magnetic Hall Sensor switches. These switches offer precise actuation, rapid trigger, and adjustable actuation points. Connect the Q1 HE with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Ye
There's quite a few cool things you can do with analog switches, and depending on the person, it can be worth the extra money even if they don't get hot swap or anything like that
Bingo
So in theory
I can just get the 110 dollar K10 Pro
Order a 35 buck switch package
And upgrade the K10 Pro to HE switches
Getting the same abilities of the Apex Pro or Q1 HE for like 75% cost
Switches are available already
It's only a QMK question if they'll work
Since the pin layout is the same
As far as I can tell anyway
Although I have to question if there is a hardware difference in terms of the controller on the keyboard
Yea but there might still be a hardware difference in how the controller handles the inputs
There could be difference admittedly
Dunno
I don't think there is but I'm not claiming for sure
At the end of the day
The whole magnetic switch is pretty cool
But I'd never pay 200+ dollars for it (especially when the board isn't even hotswap)
I do wonder if analog keyboards report each actuation differently to the computer
Like a strong hit of the a key registering Ƥ for Germans?
That would be an interesting use case
Could have potential at least
Like traditionally it's just a list of key codes of which keys are being hit, I wonder if it adds in how far each key is being actuated
They can already do that
If you look at the product pages it's already a feature that's being advertised
But the tech would have to massively come down in price to be widespread for that to be usable
Okay that is pretty cool
But I'm wondering how that works hardware wise, is that done on the keyboard or by the computer
It'd have to be done by the computer
Since the switches only report switch position
The PC would have to compare that to software bound values and interpret on the fly
Then they have fit in twice the data in the same format while maintaining the polling rate ig
Because usually keyboard just give a list of key codes over USB like 000 001 002 003 if you press 4 keys, now it's like 000 005 001 005 002 005 003 005
I guess it's possible with how nkro is
It's gonna be interesting to see where it goes if anywhere
thats why i said it depends what u value in a keyboard
i like my keyboards how i like them so i went custom
but still makes perfect sense to go with an analog keeb if u can find use in them
Pretty sure that has to be done software side
Or at least it did 5 years ago

š with the right software does this mean you can do diy "rapid trigger" stuff?
$35 upgrade to that would be sweet
Vid doesn't really show whether its processed on hardware or software end, just that it can be customized on software end
Well he said the software "disguises" it as a controller
Implying that analog keyboard hardware input isn't supported. Though that could be game specific maybe
Yea that only tells us that games can't process whatever data is fed into the game without using controller specific code
Right, I see what you mean now
I just feel like its likely that most keyboards won't be able to use the switches because the controller on the keyboard cheaps out and is only capable of processing like 1 bit per socket, and that analog keyboards have a different controller that can instead process like 4 bits per socket
dunno
not too sure how they work
Yeah good point
I'm definitely going to wait for them to release, $5 savings isn't worth them not working well or at all
at the same time, it having the same pins points towards it being something current keyboards are capable of, just an unused feature or smth
You make a good point about the chip/controller though
Actually I would imagine if it can control RGB lighting it can control a 255 state switch
The question then is if it can communicate about that 255 states with the PC, it may just be presets, its not telling the PC the rgb values of every single LED, the only thing it needs to communicate is what's written as the current preset for the rgb
Damn just me asking about a keyboard lead to this entire discussion. Lmao
This may not be the right placeā¦. Do Furmax desks come with the tools to assemble the desk?
I may end up using my keyboard on my lap. Not optimal! Lol
You will probably need a screwdriver, desks don't usually come with tools unless they use something proprietary
Is there a 3.5mm extension cable that can transmit both headphone and microphone signals?
3 pole yes
Don't make the extension too long tho
After a few meters of cable, like everything else, you'll eventually get signal issues
About how long is "too long"?
Keen gear
And now I can see that on my headphone jack and the jack on the extention cable I bought. The former has 3 stripes and the latter has 2
If by software side you're talking about the software to control the keeb, that is all it did. Software doesnt need to be running for controller emulation or for DKS (Dynamic Key Stroke, having configurable key outputs depending on percentage pressed). All of Wootings features are done on driver or firmware side, apart from being able to store more than 4 (one digital and three analog) profiles.
That is usually done at firmware level. You need hardware support for device spoofing.
Doesnt mean there isnt additional driver stuff going on for the spoofing tho, but a lot of it is firmware stuff usually.
gotcha
So uh yeah i didnt get an exact answer on if this keyboard is good or not. Alot of back and forth happened but i was only told that it was to expensive and a few other things. I dont care about hot swappable keys all that much. Lol š
Do you know any good ones tho? The cord I got from ugreen has such awful connectivity
If I said ugreen would you be mad
š
Cos all mine are from ugreen lmao
2
2 of my wires don't work
And it isn't my headphones because I tested them on even worse stuff
I'd believe it
WHY
how long is the extension tho
like 1.4 meters
and the rest of the cable?
Theoretically
it'll be expensive to send it back imo
Or heck, maybe I just get new headphones again and pray
what headphones?
O
2 pole is one or the other
Ye I have that
Ye
some iems need a lot of power to drive
I had BUDGET budget ones
I tested it with an actual 3.5mm headset and it also disconnects
Turtle Beach headset
ah so it's the cable then 100%
Like, gets unplugged outta nowhere
yeah I'd get amazon to swap/send another
I'll do that. Thanks
if it doesn't work out
honestly
most budget brands on amazon would work with decent reviews
3 pole audio is pretty basic
they've had that since forever
gat demmat, I didn't know about Phanteks' screwy RGB connectors before I bought these Halos
Or, I did read about that in some reviews and forgot about it when the Halos went on sale again
Looks like this is what I'll have to use to make it work.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BT8JXSG/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_jQiqEbK1P5S8Z
Phanteks introduces an easier and more convenient way to upgrade your lighting solution with our new Digital RGB LED Controller Hub. The Controller Hub can be used manually with the custom color modes and pattern using the 3-button remote or sync directly to a compatible DRGB motherboard using th...
they should include Phanteks to mobo ARGB tho
I hear that the premium "Lux" versions do.
The only thing these come with are screws
that's such a scam holy crap
Any chance someone could find me non-stick-to-my ears-when-I-sweat headphones for like $50?
My ears hurt after like 30 minutes of wearing them, unfortunately.
Basically, just a wired, fabric headset under $50-60
Looks donāt matter
sorry, we don't do selling here
Bet

Is $29 too high for this 3.5mm extension cable?
https://www.newegg.com/p/1B9-058H-01R24
Thats daylight robbery
6/12/25ft options https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-Female-Extension-Adapter/dp/B01CNAUYBY/ all under 10$
But that's not 4 pole
How about this instead?

I dont think it would make a major difference, maybe useful with something like a ventus or a Phoenix fan?
any of the 4 prong wongs will work if you want smaller but no it should be fine
Wongs?
ones*
I did
but sora v2 just launch
and the scroll wheel on my sora is bugging
Well what happens when they release Sora V3?
The kingdom hearts gets stronger
hell ill buy that too
right now im
saying i probably wont
but thats what i said when i got the sora
and the mouse after that
i also said i wouldnt get another keyboard after my akko board
I havent come close to endgame
closest thing was when I went f### it with my pink hts
and 6 months after the q1 pro i sold it and now im waiting for a boog75
pretty good for endgame cant lie
but just the minor double clicking and small pinky discomfort
I WOULD spend 120$ on my possible endgame
but gwolves support is so bad its not even a meme anymore
but is it worth it?
tbh i spent 45 on my sora
4 versions of the same software
nothing worked
jeez
literally had to go back the the FIRST EVER release
buy random $40 wired 8k dav3 off ebay. ez endgame
I bought the IKEA mousepad, only $12
I just don't like how it's smaller than most gaming pads
But it feels good so far
The desk mat was only $7 more, and I think I should've gotten that instead, but next time
How long did it take to put together
As a bum who was gifted sensory issues as an f u for existing, regular mouse pads make me feel icky with their material. Ive experimented with a lot of mousepads and thus far this by a long shot is my favourite, vaydeer has great stuff in general
https://www.amazon.com/Vaydeer-Ultra-Thin-Aluminum-Waterproof-11-81X9-45/dp/B089DD1TF3?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A18A2IODLCR2U2&th=1
aluminum?
time to make my own gaming mousepad company and start making large aluminum mousepads to combat against glass mousepad market
Not only alluminum, you flip it over and its leather, i use both sides depending on how cold my room is/what im in the mood for (i prefer the leather side more but the alluminum side works well too albeit a bit more noisy than i prefer)
They even give you little grip stickers for your mouse and the pad to customize what side you want to use and help with noise
time for the foldable-cooling/warming/ceramic mousepad
Hmm... you could probably do that with a TEC inside the ceramics. One side gets hot, the other cold, and you have an insulator between the layers.
I honestly would only recommend it for people like office workers
It doesnt track as precisely as youd want for esports and the like
Isn't aluminum also highly malleable
So it would gain dents so much faster than even cloth
It's not pure aluminum, it'll be an alloy and probably strengthened
It doesnt say what it is an alloy of but it is an alloy yes
Is it stupid that after all my time spent looking for headphones, my favorite pair of headphones is my hyperx stinger wireless?
(I tried sony xb910, xm4, bose q45, bose 700, xm5, soundcore q45, tons and TONs of earbuds)
just...does anyone know a GOOD pair of headphones that are moderately big?
depends what you looking for and at what price bracket. Like I really enjoy my mezes but they are also 800usd
think now is a good time to just invest in a pricy headphone pair?
or wait till later
Everyone has their own preferences and what sounds good to one person sounds weird to another
That said the most I'd ever spend is about $300
really depends what you are looking for
some people just like a massive amount of bass
in that case they can just go cheap and get a Skullcandy crusher or something
Meze 109 pro?
Artisan now has an official US retailer (again)
and I guess this is how @hushed root gets his money, bro been a mousepad guy and never told us
ye
nice choice
I have couple pairs of difference headphone myself
debating to pickup a Hifiman next
or Focal
I'd want to try out some of the open back Focal's. I had the Celestee's for a bit and really liked the dynamics of them
FOUR NINETY NINE SHIPPING
3 DAY DELIVERY
INSANE
THIS IS CHEAPER THAN BUYING LOCAL IN JAPAN
Yo what
actually just realized, need to check shipping to see if they still ship it flat or if they roll them to get it down to that $4.99 price
if its still shipped flat thats crazy
how good of a shipping deal does artisan have?!
I don't know any other company besides Amazon with that pricing
i dont see anything about shipping the mousepad flat. should i be a test dummy and buy one to see if its shipped flat or not?
or actually i can just email
theyd be
really really
really
reallly
realllyl really really
REALLY
stupid
sent email just to confirm
theres people on amazon that roll them
ok their upcharge
on the large size
is gross tho
17 dollars
on the large for some reason
for shipping?
no
just price straight up
goes from 34.99 for the med
to
52.99 for the large
the med hayate otsu is
28 dollars
the large is 36
in japan
its not actually much better to ship a large from
japan
*from here vs. japan
$59 for the hien for xl, feel as though thats what i paid for through LGG before artisan dropped them as a seller
slightly cheaper actually than lgg for what i paid
well, doesnt show taxes
why does it not show taxes
imma assume its part of the mousepad itself in that upcharge cause looking at what i paid for through lgg and jp, $58.99 through jp. lgg: $54.99 for pad and $4.93 for taxes
now hold on a second
its actually more expensive
š
jp at least a bit cheaper than what lgg was charging
thats what i paid
granted will say when i bought mine it was also when artisans website was also still very bad to order from and navigate
thus far jp is good for the small and med pad but not the large and xl
sucks for me since i only order xl whenever theres an option to for a mousepad
i already got an email back from them
shipped flat
specified too for the sizes
corrugated flat mailer for L and XL and bubble mailer for S and M
I nearly bought that exact pad like a year ago
My issue was it wasn't big enough tho
Gib desk

How to mouse
That blue one is weird
you can plug a USB into it and then put it on the desk
yes the new one doesn't have a port
you have to use the dongle
Ig if you like mice that sort of thing has a different appeal
I wouldn't do transparent lol
Doesn't look too bad at a distance
I have one of the ones on the left
wish it was black though
The hyperpoll razer one
ah yea
For da v3
good mouse
It's the closest shape to the mamba which I loved to death
I use it daily lol
You know when you find one that just feels so perfect for your hand
Mamba was that for me
Which is really weird, I know it wasn't a good mouse overall
yeah lmao I do
But luckily da v3 is decent
That is this mouse pretty much
sheeeesh
just a v2 of it
I know too much
But tbh recently especially after I got my sora last year I stopped caring as much
Any budget mouse mat recommendations or should I just buy a $10 on Amazon
Hey guys. Any advice on keyboards? I dont want a 100 keyboard. It can be a 75 or 60. For gaming and video editing. Budget: 150ā¬
The steel series qck ones are my go to, probs more like 15 for a decent size but
@calm cobalt if no one else says anything
Look up keychron c1 pro hotswap
Iirc that ones 75%
But I know it's not the best, only decent
Thanks felix
Np
rainy75 if you can buy it
there's some yunzii board
search for stuff on YouTube, there's a lot of good budget options but they're all different based on your tastes
yeah the yz75
Anyone here tried out some of the hand shaped keyboards like this?
They have a steep learning curve but once you have it down you can type as fast as a regular keyboard
The advantage is only slightly better economics
What is a good keyboard that is usb type c wireless I thought that I would be able to use a visa gift card but they blocked out of USA purchases I was looking at the keychron v5 max wireless keyboard
I've been terribly interested in this thing, but disappointed that the joystick is just an 8-way hat
I also saw one or two complaints about durability
Gotcha. I kinda wanna try one seems fun.
People who learned it does it by any chance also offer a typing speed advantage?
It depends on the individual
So I'd have to just try it and find out then?
Do you know if people make custom key caps for those things by any chance.
What is this type of keyboard called?
Do you know if there is a version that can function as a full size keyboard (meaning 108 keys)? Or like a 65% where I can make function combinations to make up for it.
No idea
Ahh alright.
ya, these things are gimmicky
You don't think physical space is a factor? There would be no difference with literally every key at your fingertips at once?
From youtubers I've seen that have tried it, they had their typing speed at or below their previous typing speed after a few months of use
There's a factor of additional "processing lag" as your brain struggles to remember exactly what key is where and what modifier button you need to press to get to it
I was only thinking of using it for video games, not as a replacement keyboard
But in the end
You could have small keyboards as well
One big board for typing
Other for gaming
From my experience
Smaller keyboards are better for typing
Since everything is just compact
I had from full factor to 65%
For me the lowest I'm willing to go without losing my typing speed and not confusing my brain is 75%
Since there's still function row
Why would you need the function row to type tho
I use the special letters and symbols a lot
And my keyboard doesn't only have one language
not like it matters anymore, im selling everything pc from my life
Mind if I ask why?
accident leading me to being unable to use laptop
Understood. Hope things get better for you soon.
oh uh oh, hope you get better as well
Not sure if this falls under peripherals, but does anyone know a good desk around the $100 or less area? I'd either want it to be L shaped, or someway of having another desk next to it to make an L shape
At least space for 2 monitors and my pc
Preferably black, aside from that no super specific requests
Probably wanna measure your area that you want and just go to IKEA or another furniture store to browse
I haven't had much luck online looking for l shaped desks
Check fb marketplace
lots of good cheap desks on there
saw a 70 inch motorized standing desk for 60 bucks once
@neon root Boog
end game now hopefully
ngl I can't tell if the rapid trigger is working š
Hays name of the color if u know
SHEEEESH
Out of curiosity how comfortable is the wood palm rest?
i havent really had the chance to use it for an extended period of time yet
but its not that uncomfortable to me because
the bottom of your palms above your wrist where my hands rest on the keyboard are decently padded
Ahh okay.
what are some budget fast and good sounding keyboard switches
depends what you think sounds good. do you like the creamy or thonky sounding switches, or do you prefer something that's quiet or clicky
If you want fast there's Cherry MX Speed Silver, or the more budget option Akko CS Silver. Other options you can see here https://www.rtings.com/keyboard-switch/reviews/best/gaming
ty
I'm looking at the Kailh Speed Coppers myself if I build a keyboard at some point
Clear tops are good for RGB too
Any opinions on this?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CK8H31Y1/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
So remember this convo? I found out why it didn't work for the past year
I was a moron. You can plug in the wire even deeper than normal
or at least my new cable can
Does anyone know what prebuilt 80% keyboard l should get for under $100?
Something from keychron is the basic answer
š
been there before
this message made me cringe
I think there were some reviewers that used that language
ya
but like...why
why is creamy a cringable term nowdays and why is it an accurate term ?
It's cringe because of the sexual connotation, and it's accurate because it feels slightly mushy like you're sticking your finger into mashed potatoes
I don't even think of it in such connotation unless specifically implied when talking about keebs
But it's all too easy to think like that I guess
well damn lol i used it because it's used a lot in keyboard reviews. i never thought of it that way
also i was just trying to help if he was watching reviews too x.x
i personally havent used any pwnage products, however, this deal is kinda a banger if anyone needs a mouse and mousepad or keyboard and mousepad. or keyboard, mouse and 2 mousepads with extra stuff
its at the top of the website but code "valentine" for the keyboard bundle
looking at their site, they seem to have quite a few bundles running but the one posted above is the cheapest
living in cali, my total comes out to $70.34
What kind of keyboard is it? Mechanical or optical?
amazing
i bought it for the he but it is genuinely a really amazing deep poppy sound keyboard
miles better than my q1 he
everything is well lubed and high quality
they feel like mechanical switches but are hall effect switches
they use two magnets to detect when the key has moved instead of a leaf with an actuation point, so as soon as you press the key down, it detects a press
even 0.1mm down can be detected as a press if youd like
Hall effect
Theoretically those would never wear out
as soon as you stop pressing the key it stops detecting a key press
true
but tbh most mechanical switches nowadays are like millions and millions of presses
Still, it would be cool to get a "buy once, use it for life" thing
Because I've definitely worn out switches playing certain games
I'm now imagining a hall effect swapped G502
the endgame 65 would prob be the one i buy if i do get one
or ill get my friend to make me a custom case
its not really that helpful for mouse because the travel distance is already super low
opticals make a lot more sense
and are becoming increasingly common in good mice actually
take a look at the sound tests for the boog
i dont think you can get much better than this
they're also making a zoom75he thats like 50 cheaper with pretty much no tradeoffs
guess it looks a bit more basic
im aiming for 65
might wait a little for pcbs to be a bit more mainstream
of if they make a universal software so we can get custom pcbs made
oh ic
btw you should compare size between 65 and 75
it ends up being not that much more unless you're really just doing it for aesthetics
