280mm aios should be good for anything basically, as long as it's a good aio
Like liquid freezer ii
ik that made me sad I wanted the 280 argb, now I gotta front mount a 360 one instead
Yeah get 280/360 instead if it fits in your budget/case
I mean whats your case?
Really dont feel like taking all 3 of my front fans off lol
Im getting a i5-12600k
Yeah I'd deff grab a 280/360
Alright
I already have fans in the front i dont want to remove then i can only support a 240mm or 280mm on top
Moving fans aint that bad but fair enough
I have a habit of losing screws too…
Ive lost both my screws that hold in my glass panel
They’re on my desk somewhere but i have no idea where
Uhhhh
Magnetic trays are nice for holding screws
Or even just a plastic chinese container or something
Magnetic trays keep them nicely in place
Putting screws in containers for me has resulted in many nightmares when accidentally knocking them over and every screw goes everywhere
Yeah, if using container i just place screws on table because i work on the floor
Well i was literally just taking out the screw to adjust a cable that kept getting in the way of my fans…
Get an Ifixit kit, the lids have screw dividers. Best purchase I've made in regards to tool kits
Would highly suggest this $20 kit, it's what I use. Allows you to open about anything you'd need.
It has a divided grid lid so you can hold screws
Great kit for the price
It really is
I've been so happy with it. It lets me open up every console and PC case
280 is closer to 360 than 240
yea arent 280mm rads usually thicker?
Guys help me pls
I can’t control for my uni fans by lian li l-connect software
I can’t change the speed of fans also the lightning
I tried many things
Define "many things", what have you done?
Check the cables in case one of the motherboard connections came loose.
Someone told usb cable is enough
Sata also
But I already plugged Argb cable and fan header
PMW cable”
Do you have any other software installed that might interfere, such as motherboard software?
RGB for aorus motherboard
The RGB Fusion app? That's known to cause a few issues. Make sure it's not running at all on startup and reboot.
The usb cable is enough right?
It should be yes
hmm what about bios settings?
That won't interfere at all unless your bios has RGB controls
And if you're not using the fan header you don't need to worry about fan curve
No?
what's issue(s) with vortex in reservoir? Does it matter or people just don't like the slight noise?
Do you know?
They aren't to my knowledge
Do you have the rgb header connected?
Idk I didn’t exactly build it all
I got a buddy to help me
I could’ve figured it out but it would’ve take a lot longer
Welp i guess go diving for rgb headers in the back of your case, see if you find any loose ones
I thought t he re was like some app you download to get it on
Well that only applies if the rgb headers are plugged in
The app depends on your motherboard
You'll find it on your motherboards website, then go to downloads
And it should say something like rgb ish
Believe it's aura sync
Np
With what
Take pic
Looks like USB 2.0 maybe
Msi b550 gaming plus
Because I got it al hooked up I’m just having trouble hooking up that last cable there’s not really good step by step videos on the thermal take pure plus 12
Prob a good time to check manual for the fan hub then
Tt website doesn't want to load for me
yea
Oh ok thanks I’ll hook it up now
from mobo manual:
Thanks for the help 😄👍
:)
can someone tell me if the DEEPCOOL Gammaxx 400S is a good cpu cooler? its going for $25 CAD right now, and I want to upgrade my intel stock cooler on my i3 8100.
so do I need a liquid cooler for amd ryzen 5 3600 or will it be fine with a regular cooler?
3600 is fine with a regular cooler. If you're not overclocking even the stock cooler is sufficient.
3600 shipped with wraith stealth
Not spire
I wouldnt recommend sticking with stock on 3600
I would go for gammax 400v2 or se 224 xt or vetroo v5
cool thanks
anyone know if vetroo air cooler have rgb software or no?
No, it'll just connect to the motherboard and use that software
Id spend a couple extra bucks for this https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/kjdrxr/deepcool-gammaxx-400-v2-645-cfm-cpu-cooler-dp-mch4-gmx400v2-rd
hey everyone, I just got the z690i aorus ultra, however the liquid cooler is little too big.. anyone has ever used a zx90i aorus ultra?
What do you mean by too big? Like it gets blocked by some parts on the board?
the double posted
... I really wish people wouldn't do that
Me too
Sorry about that, I thought I was in the wrong chat earlier because noone replied
It's okay lol
Hello, I'm doing my first RGB build and going to have about 9 corsair fans in a Lian Li O11 Dynamic. Is an iCue commander pro needed for this many fans? Also anything else that you think I might need?
I would advise not going corsair for rgb, icue uses a decent amount of system resources you need stupid expensive hubs that are proprietary and the fans are expensive, I'd just get an rgb hub an arctic p12 rgbs personally as they are better and cheaper
also icue is just an annoying piece of software to deal with
along with razer synapse
avoid installing both on your system, choose components to avoid them accordingly
Every rgb software kinda sucks
i havent had too much trouble with the aorus one aside from the crappy interface
simply get the lian li unifans to go with your lian li case
i say "simply get" sarcastically, because iirc they still hard to get
but totally worth it
Gigabytes rgb fusion is pretty good yeah
What would be a decent price to performance RGB fan? I want to build in something like a Lian Li 011.
Arctic p12 if they're in stock
I believe there's a 3pack at a decent price
There's an argb and rgb variant
3 pack was scalped for a while
:/
sad
Yeah, and the non-rgb are usually $6-7 per fan, and worth every penny
My son is going to want the lights so I might do 3 on the vertical mounts and maybe black on the bottom.
Shhh
is 46C ok for downloading doom eternal on steam and having chrome, discord, and spotify open? on the cpu? 5800x arctic freezer 2 liquid 360mm aio
keepin an eye on my temps ik this runs hot
Temps while doing small tasks won't really speak for how it will be under load. If you want to temp test do something cpu intensive
fair enough, any recommendations for cpu intensive stuff? ik a lot of games are gpu intensive but im not sure about cpu
I mean cinebench probably won't show the full under load Temps but it'll give a good idea
Cinebench is a cpu bench marking software
alright it peaked at 74 and stayed 73-74 the whole time, that sounds good to me i think
Pretty good
Idle temps just really your room temperature
true true
Does anyone have a CPU cooler recommendation that comes with more than 1GB of ram? Amazon says this one comes with 1 but idk if that's enough to sufficiently cool anything
Wait, are you serious?
Lmao
Hey is a NH-U12S enough to cool a stock 11600k?
Not sure if I should just go all the way to a NH-D15
It is but why?
There's literally better coolers
For less or same
Like uh peerless assassin
Noctua U12S is meh
Okay, I’ll look at others. I’m not as familiar with air coolers as I am AIOs so thanks for the help
Yeah the peerless looks fine, a bit shorter too
Yeah it's nice
Ehhhhh, get neither, get a peerless assasin 120
Pa 120 is close to d15 for u12s pricing
👍
in all fairness the u12s is like 1/3 the size of the PA 120
Yeah but it's a terrible price for what it is
agreed on price
If you want something u12s like get like an id cooling se 224xt or vetroo v5 lol
U12s redux isn't too horrible
for its size its decent but as @shrewd juniper said there are cheaper/better options
Ye, I'm just saying I'd prob pick it over 224xt or vetroo v5
Can't compete with pa120/fs140 but can definitely compete with 224xt or v5
I would only get the vetroo v5 if I really needed it to be white lol
have to admit the white vetroo v5 looks really good in all white builds
Yeah it does
Yes
Yeah I’m not doing a white build, don’t care too much about size assuming it doesn’t exceed max cooler height so peerless looks best
Not at all, just joking around from the Amazon page LOL
Perfect my new -i9 gonna be happy the
Too late already ordered
With the retro fit kit
I just hope cupper cover all cpu
SKU CW-9060047-WW
iCUE H115i ELITE CAPELLIX Liquid CPU Cooler
It seem to be large to fit
Reason: Bad word usage
Would it be worth buying a freezer ii and replacing the fans with the bequiet ones?
Why would you replace one of the best fans with not as good onez :p
Arctic p12/p14 fans are super quiet, that's what freezer II comes with
I can't hear my 6x set of p12 at all, even on max
ah alright
Just wondering if i should go through this to loop my gpu so i dont have to deal with an enemy AC-130 in my bedroom/office
EKWB are pretty expensive usually compared to others. Check alphacool blocks too.
Ill try i just trust EK with gpu blocks mainly
p95 small ffts is the biggest thermal load you can apply to a pc
there's plenty of alphacool stuff etc that are better ek just market more
Lian li fans better than Corsair?
Which ones exactly? There's so many corsair fans
but I'd always get lian li over corsair fans, corsair have icky proprietary rgb, but I'd always get arctic p12/p14's (rgb) for cheaper and they're one of the best fans
I had ql120 that broke
well should i go for the alphacool aio for the gpu
What GPU? If it's the 3090 in your name only things designed for your exact model will fit because there's still no universal bracket for 30 series like there was on 20 series.
Besides that, you probably want a full block with active backplate, 3090 memory gets HOT
That's a mostly reference design board so the reference AIO might fit. The standard model is listed as compatible but the OC model isn't on the list, but it is on the 3080 list. They may have made a small change that makes it not fit.
It's not an active backplate, but rather passive, so the memory temps may become an issue if you do anything memory intensive such as mining.
i dont do mining but i do gaming and rendering mainly
Anyone know anything about the alphacool eisbaer aio?
what you want to know?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MJoU_NzHGI
anyway, seems like performance is a bit bad. (360 beaten by many 240mm aios)
Today system builder James joins us to take an indepth look at the new Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 360 cooler - from discussing the new updates, an unboxing, a full install and then finally some performance testing. Check out the full review over at www.kitguru.net http://bit.ly/3cf6k0Q

I want to buy H150i cooler, but I want to ask first does it fit to MSI Z690 motherboard ?!
Buy an arctic freezer ii
Or lian li galahad
Or ek aio
@fresh smelt
does anyone know any decent white rgb fans that aren't super expensive
well any other recommendations for Gpu aios or waterblocks for the Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity OC
ekwb
well i did have a full parts lists ready
i have that one in my list iirc
than look no further
the whole list is gonna cost me around $521
and if everything loop related is made by ekwb it will save you a lot of headaches
I am not saying other companies dont make good custom loop products its just a pain to mix parts from different companies
Have I put the fan correctly? On the heatsink
Very
Yeah that was supposed to be also instead of so lol was just confused how it could be that slanted
hi there, what is the best budget AIO for LGA2011 for Corsair 750D case?
Depends what fans
The one I put in the list I sent
Would that be bad?
On the screws I managed to get the top right and bottom left screwed in
Arctic liquid freezer/ek rgb/lian li Galahad
In what way?
There's no way that thing is touching the cpu properly
So I need to screw in the four screws right?
Yeeee
Reason: Bad word usage
Did you just rip the cpu out
Uh no you'll be able to get all 4
To bend pins back you need to slightly heat them up and try bend them back but it's not very easy
A heat radiator work?
Ehh if you put it next to it or a hair dryer or something
^
uh
chances are the pin can be important
or not
but i suggest bending them back
not break em off
not really
Oh
best to just heat up the pins and take something thin and hard like a credit card and slowly run it through the lanes to try and bend the pins back
breaking off pins is one of the worse things you can do
I got tweezers
also the pins are kinda fragile especially in that bent state. if you arent really steady or careful with the amount of pressure youre using, you could potentially just accidently clip one off
pga problems
you're supposed to twist the cooler before you get it off the cpu once you finished unscrewing
Ik
Next time imma use little bit in the middle
Done
Good?
@mystic tiger @marsh badge
@shrewd juniper the cpu keeps sticking to the cooler should I just not put any paste
I think that was Lian li Galahad right?
do NOT not put any paste
What PC? That's fine for low end stuff
What are some good adler lake compatible radiators?
Arctic Liquid Freezer II
Or EK-AIO if you want RGB, or Lian Li Galahad if you want white
I don't know if EK has a LGA1700 bracket, I know Arctic does though
I still love the look of the captain ex one I saw in a build video.
They should make that for 12th gen
What about it do you like? The CPU block?
The consensus online is it looks nice but sucks at cooling
2016 so not that old but it doesn't say 1700 in the list of compatible sockets
I saw stuff about it from 2008 unless they re released a newer version.
I've seen something similar before, let me see if I can find it again
It has a very mechanic clock like feel. Adds like a classical feeling to it.
If I have 3 other case fans do I need a radiator for overclocking? Or could I just get a whatever they're called that is a fan that sits on top of it.
Overclocking on 12th gen? You absolutely need liquid cooling for that, they draw TONS of power and give off equal heat
Fuu they're all so expensive or not really feeling the look.
I'll look some more tho.
Maybe take a look at EVGA clc? Pump looks different but same theme
$180 is kind of the top I'm looking to go here but even that hurts the soul.
Slap some better fans on that and it's a really good cooler
What about nzxt x53? I saw a video saying that nzxt coolers should PROBABLY mount.
Krakens do have the 1700 bracket available https://support.nzxt.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407896253339-How-to-get-the-LGA-1700-Bracket
lit
The thickness? That doesn't make as much difference honestly.
As long as it's a good model
14.17mm radiator thickness lmao?
I have that cooler
I kept the fans they are quiet and semi efficient and they can sound like a harrier jet is taking off and be really efficient lol
depends on your fan curve
Sounds like $18 for a 3 pack of P12 fans could help, even on full speed they're silent
You can take the fans off radiators anyway right and replace later if you want?
sure
@knotty sparrow is right about the fans not being the best but they are alright and I bet they push more air than most other fans at harrier jet level noise since thats how I clean the rad it blows all the dust out I just couldnt sit next to it with them at that speed lol
I also got it right when EVGA released it and its still running strong
I think all the good ones are shipping with or shipping separately from site
refurbished Lenovo thinkcentre m93
Someone can help me?.. my question is about parts that I need for:
- I have a graphic card RTX 3080 FE and I want to buy all that I need for cooling with a waterblock.. but I need advisory.
Thanks
Don’t post the same question in different channels
Ok I understand
What’s the best software to use for checking component temps and clock speed?
hwinfo
@raven ruin Any idea when you will have the iCUE H170i ELITE LCD Display Liquid CPU Cooler in stock.
They don't respond to tags but why you want that specific aio?
420mm radiator with three ML140 fans and the LCD display. It will look amazing in my planned build.
Ahh fair enough
I'm not sure if it has been released yet 😦
Probs not
Hopefully enough to cool a 12900k https://i.imgur.com/8K3HFfG.jpeg
https://i.imgur.com/IuvBA4y.jpg
What in the hell is that lol
A water chiller
Dammm boi
man, I need one of those
I want an AIO like this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/662435148557713418/912318971888418816/IMG_8987.jpg
Ln2 aio?
Noice lol
Thats not enough cooling if you ask me
does aio cause a high pitch sound or is that a power supply? all other fans are not the culprit
will a liquid cooled system heat up the room at a faster rate than a conventional fan cooled?
Could be pump noise
I mean, it's the same amount of heat, maybe it'll be slightly more delayed because the liquid soaks up some heat, but once coolant temps go up, the same amount of heat at the same rate will come out
High pitch sound could also be coil whine, common in PSUs and GPUs, they're not indicative of any problems, it's just annoying
if a gpu is going to be kept at 40c instead of 68c because of a water cooled system, i cant help but think that the heat is entering the room more efficiently
do i want my room to be the same temp as my case or do i want a hotter case and cooler room? is that a question that i face or am i wrong?
It's not that, because whatever heat comes out, will radiate out, no matter where it is, if the heat is in the radiator fins and being blown out by fans or if the heat is in the heatsink fins being blown out by fans
But well, in the long run, it'll all try to get to equilibrium
How long it takes to get to equilibrium will depend
i know in the long run liquid and air will be equal, im just concerned about rate. the linus video on this was over 24 hrs and didnt address rate
@slow condor pretty sure GN covered time to steady state in air coolers vs AIOs at some point
It's something like 1 minute vs 5 minutes
Try fractal torrent perhaps
and why do u say that one
Great airflow, no rgb
Well, forgot if rgb fans or not
Could turn off rgb anyways
Fractal’s Torrent PC case is brand new and already ranks one of the best we’ve ever reviewed, while also offering unique, well-designed features. Our review is overall positive.

the funny thing is im using a haf 932 atm and that same channel reviewed it agian 10 yrs later and the thermals are even better
I mean, they did a review on the haf x, not haf 932 iirc
u think theres a significant difference between the two?
Old cases are old cases, I didn't really pay attention to them
Does the liquid cooler ii come with the fans installed already or would i have to put those in? Just a random question i just thought of
Ive never used a liquid cooler before so i dont know much about them
yep
you have to install the fans yourself
wait no
it's all ready for you to just put it into the rig
oh cool
ID-Cooling Frostflow 240 is it good?
no info on it but, for an i5 11400 just get an id cooling se 224xt/vetroo v5/gammaxx 400 or gte
well it's a deal if i get a intel cpu and a b560m both together worth 300$ i get it for free
ohh well if its free then sure
don't i need pipes and other crap worth 200$?
no aio, means all in one , its all included, thats just custom loop cooling
oh
but i don't trust myself with maintaining a liquid cooler
i fear that i would mess up and it will splash all over the pc
you cant/dont need to for aios
.. i'm dumb
dw lol undersstandable mistake
nah it's a consistent thing about me i always overthink something and in the end i end up saying some stupid crap
I think it's a legitimate concern tbf
yeah but it got better after i started doing physical exercises it help me build confidence
That's good. I've read that exercise also helps the brain 👍
Yep. Hmm, I wonder if there's a test of how long would a cpu take to heat up to throttle point if pump was switched off or failed. My fan fails, then I get a silent passive heatsink 🙃
Thoughts on best cooler for a non oc, i7 11700k? I don’t care if it’s air or a aio I just need something that can get my temps under control ( with current cooler I hit 96degrees on halo infinite)
Arctic liquid freezer ii/ek rgb/lian li Galahad 240mm +
Hey all. The rear exhaust case fan on my NZXT H510 started grinding on me after a big move and a change in environments. Nothings broken of bumping it there's no sag. I think the bearings just dried out.
Any advice on how to get in there and lube it back up?
Equally I am wondering if there is a 120mm replacement to the stock fan you would recomend in case it goes kaput or messes up further when I attempt a repair.
I've heard mineral oil or some very light machine oil works but I wanna be sure before I do anything to it.
Please tag me in reply or DM me because I otherwise have this discord muted.
Arctic P12
Super silent fan and moves a lot of air
Plus about $6-7 for one
would it be worth replacing AIO fans with those?
Depends on the aio, but often yes
hey guys, what is the difference between Lian Li ST120 vs Lian Li SL120? thanks, i want to install about 9-10 fans in my Lian Li O11 case not sure which approach is better
The St120s are fans that come with their AIOs. The SL120s are their Unifans, that have a unique feature where they click into each other to minimise cabling. Considering you want 9-10 fans id recommend the SL120s
Is this a good cooler to go with? Was wanting to go with the liquid cooler ii but this ones on sale and $65 cheaper than the liquid cooler ii
Not really also it's 75$ liquid freezer is def worth the 10$ extra/20$ for rgb
Alright
Hey guys, Im looking to purchase the corsair H150i Elite to pair with my 11700k. I also bought corsair SP120 fans. My question is, can i add the new fans to the controller of the AIO? I just wanted to make sure those were the same connectors as they use on their other products. Thanks!
Probably but i don't touch rgb with a 5 ft pole and i wouldn't touch proprietary rgb with a 50 ft pole
yeah its not a priority just figured id just get something different then all my black pcs ive had in the past lol
The mags have really loud pumps and fans. The fans you can change but not the pump.
Alright
what if you want to replace the cpu on a watercooled loop? do u have to drain the whole system? is it a hassle
If it's hard Tubing, yes you should drain it. Soft Tubing might move enough to get it out. AIO is no problem.
PA120 black is out of stock everywhere, best alternative?
For what cpu?
11600k
Yeah I could go white but it’ll look so out of place rip
I might honestly just go white and take the loss
Next best option would be scythe fuma 2 but that's grey
Hm alr
Went very unessecary with this but I splurged on the z73 is it compatible with this mobo?
pcpartpicker is telling me it is unsure but assume that is just referring to the bracket nzxt said they are shipping with their coolers now.
Why not some different aio? But well, either way, you can contact nzxt for brackets later if necessary
Honestly I just really liked the look and the graphics aspect.
My cooler says 360mm. I saw a build video with the case I plan on getting and just kind of assumed this would fit but I think there was another size and want to make sure.
Lian Li O11 Dynamic
And the mobo more importantly since that is what pcpartpicker is telling me it is unsure about.
MSI also has an aio with a screen now but well
There was the corsair one too but I just didn't like the look as much. The color scheme of their monitoring software, the circular cooler, etc I just liked more.
On the nzxt model
back bracket broke . one of the nut holder are broken . where can i get backbracket for a corsair H115i? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
The backplate? If it came with the cooler, just contact corsair support
So does asus but it's dummy expensive, eks screen got delayed til Feb :/
Wait so I was thinking
water coolers should keep my room cooler for longer right
I understand that either way it's the same amount of heat
but since water has a higher heat capacity it should let the heat out slower?
answered
Hello! What cooler is best for my i5-11500? Should I go for an AIO or an air cooler? Can you recommend one? Something on the cheaper side around 70 to 80USD hopefully. I'll be doing programming, casual gaming, and some video editing.
Gammax 400v2 or se224xt or vetroo v5 is fine
If you want to go for better premium cooling get peerless assassin 120
Using an aio on an 11500 is a waste of money
I wouldn't even bother 11500 isn't bot enough to warrant it
Leaves an upgrade path on the same cooler
But yeah i have my 11500 runing on a 400v2 and its never hit 80c
Ehh i suppose but without swapping boards not many upgrades worth your time
Like 300$ to go from 6 to 8 cores, and might not have good enough mobo for 10/11700
Fair
Why are noctua fans more expensive than alot of other fans
Maybe because they are “premium fans”
(gonna talk about the a12x25 )Because they are better than a lot of other fans, they have great reputation and even though value not as good, they are slightly quieter and better to p12s at max speed etc
The fans are. You'll want to swap those. Arctic p12 are about $6 each and some of the best.
with Arctic fans, can you still use the EVGA software to control them?
It depends on your motherboard
The rgb version of the p12 is about $15 each if you're talking rgb
And that would be controlled by your motherboard, and whether the evga software supports your board is the question
Okay, I need to check it in details. I'm planning to use msi z690 pro-a
MSI does not work with evga software
Third party apps tend to destroy MSI lighting
okay, thanks for the info

does anyone know of good flowing in cfm fans? noise is of no object. price for 5 i want to be around 100 bucks
Hello, I have two sets of Corsair Corsair Air Series AF140 LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fans, and also some ML Series 120mm Cooling Fan Kit - Black/White. I have a Corsair C70 and a just beought NZXT AIO X53. Not sure what fans should I use on the cooler, and some for in air and out. I gladly appreciate the help.
it appers we have the same problem
lol
fan confusion
Uh I'd just use the aios fans
I'd just grab some arctic p12/p14
ehh. i kinda iffy on those. they are like too cheap. and whats the diff between a rifle bearing and a normal bearing
Price doesn't= quality, they are great fans, compete with the a12x25s from noctua at a fraction of the price, also pretty silent
Haven't heard of a rifle bearing before
ah
I was told by a friend who has the X53 and recommended to change the fans
x53 fans?
well mostly want high flow fans to push more air into my pcs small case
more to cool the gpu
They mean as in fans that came with the x53
oh
Well you could get the phanteks t30's? Think that's the name, but diminishing returns tbh
The fans comes with thr AIO
Any advice on how big one can go with a CPU/high end graphics card and still successfully air cool? I've spent too many years as a plumber to want liquid in my computer. Everything leaks sooner or later.
Air cooling is perfectly acceptable for most CPUs and almost all GPUs, but not all coolers are created equal for both
I am running the light simulator X-Plane and it likes as much memory and graphics as you can give it.
Oppps Flight simulator
You could use a 5800X or 10700k with a good air cooler, and even a rtx 3090 is fine on air in the right case
Or a 12600k if you want to go new gen
Thanks. That is helpful.

Anyone know if this comes with the mounting brackets required for socket 1700?
I don't but noctua would send you out one on request. For that price you can get an arctic liquid freezer ii 280mm or save money and get the 240mm version, if Arctic doesn't include the bracket they will also send out upon request
Noctua will ship a free one on proof of purchase @smoky kiln
https://noctua.at/en/intel-lga1700-all-you-need-to-know
Designed in Austria, Noctua's premium cooling components are renowned for their superb quietness, exceptional performance and thoroughgoing quality.
thanks for the help!
I got a used z63 and the faceplate looked like it has a scratch and a weird mark on the thermal plate. It also has a decent amount of dust all over it, anybody know if the scratch will effect performance and the best way to clean off the dust besides an air can
scratch should not do anything other than looks, and just get compressed air for cleaning dust, least annoying way
theres also a small burn mark is it good with that too?
burn mark? I wouldn't worry about the mark, I'd worry about what made that mark lol
did they stick a blowtorch to the PC?
well i dont know what it actually is, its like a tiny dark circle so i assumed it was a burn mark but its not like blackened or anythin
just never seen it before and he said he doesnt know what caused the mark
Heyo. Can anyone tell me if a Hyper 212 will have out of the box compatibility with an AM4 socket? I have read some stuff online about an upgrade kit being necessary. I hope that isn't the case
I'm pretty sure you just take off the AM4 retention bar things and use the ones that come with the cooler
AMD's desktop socket hasn't changed for cooler mounting in years, and neither has the 212
additionally will the 212 be sufficient for a R9 5900x?
what would you use instead? my budget isnt flexible anymore
Around that price, fs140 might fit in the budget
im seeing $120 for the fs140 thats over double what im spending on the 212
jk thats only on newegg
That's over double what you're spending on the 212, if you're spending more than 20$ on a 212 we have even more issues
Fs140 should be like 40-50$ on Amazon
yep. fs 140 and others are $35-45 right now. Actually, can I get some input on em? 😅 Would be for 11600K or poissbly 1x700.
For intel go peerless assassin
For amd go frost spirit
Nice, I was leaning that direction. Thnx. 4 more hrs on certain sale prices.
Can you overclock whit a hyper 212 rgb black edition?
Depends on the cpu, don't buy it tho
The cooler?
Yes, 212 is very underpowered considering it's price and competition
If you're looking for something similar to 212 black for lower powered cpus, id cooling se 224xt or vetroo v5 or gammaxx 400/gt
For more beefier cooler for same price, peerless assassin 120 for intel, frost spirit 140 for amd
why do we not have a cpu cooler teir list here 😔
Gamers Nexus just released a video about this
hey guys
where tha heck to cpu backplates come from
do they come with the motherboard?
or the cpu or the cpu cooler?
with intel it comes with the cooler, same with amd however amd does have its own bracket for its cpu cooler that comes with the cpu
for AMD they come with the motherboard. Third party coolers sometime come with their own ones
ok thanks guys
ive built a lot of computers now but i never knew where these things come from lol
and i needed one to finish a build
Too many variables

That'd be an intriguing project. How would we organize it?
Hi guy have a question, trying to complete my new build, im going to have a few lian li sl120 fans but for the cooler because lian li galahad 360 the lga 1700 mounting kit takes about a month to ship from aliexpress i might go with a corsair cooler... is it better to have the same brand in terms of fans/aio for simplicity in terms of using the software to control RGB lighting/fan speeds?
Ehh i wouldn't go with Corsair, proprietary overpriced bleh.
Lian li should be able to ship you the lga 1700 bracket if it didn't come in the box, no need to get from AliExpress
I just want to know how things would work if you have like different brands for software purposes like is it more easy to have things all the same so that youre under the same software to access the RGB etc.
Oh but look at Lian Li's site https://lian-li.com/lga1700-mounting-kit-announcement/
2021.11.05 Edit: Temporary out of stock, ETA on November 25th, 2021. × Dismiss alert LGA1700 Mounting Kit AnnouncementExisting owners of the GALAHAD AIO seeking to upgrade to the new Intel LGA 1700 can request the mounting kit through the official LIAN LI Aliexpress store hereThe bracket is $0.01 USD (minimum required order), and the only […]
it says you need to get it from their retail store and its from aliexpress which says shipping about a month 😦
As long as it's not proprietary you can use 1 software to control everything
Oof, you might be able to get it for free from customer support
How can you tell if its proprietary? I was planning on getting Corsair iCue H150i Elite LCD with the Lian Li SL120 fans because that AIO might come in stock quicker with the lga 1700 mounting standard, i did want the Galahad 360 but the lga 1700 mounting bracket might take long
All of corsair is proprietary, nzxt is also mainly proprietary to my knowledge
yeah i prefer having one standard software to control everything, so probably might be better to just get all Lian Li fans/aio and use their software?
Yeah probs, or ek rgb/arctic liquid freezer (rgb) if you were gonna get the black verisons
Yeah im looking for white instead 🙂 ok thanks for your help!... ill try to contact lian li support and see if they can get it out quicker
Np :)
is a case fan a "must-have" in any system? I just remember that I didn't put any case fan in the low-end pc I built for my aunt. Is that okay? the pc has no GPU
At least one fan is still good in a low end system with no gpu like that. Usually the one the case comes with is fine.
And if the case didn't come with one you can slap an arctic p12 in there for $6
Should my new AIO CPU cooler pump be making a constant low clicking sound? I’ve never had a liquid cooler before. Kraken X63.
No but can you dm me a vid of it?
Let me try getting a recording, might be a while.
No rush
Thanks!
Just sent that.
Yeah that doesn't sound good
Return and exchange?
I would say it’s a little exaggerated in the video, but it’s definitely noisy.
Yeah i would
What should it sound like?
@cyan plume wait actually what way do you have your radiator mounted?
Quite possibly some air trapped in the aio
Front of case, I tried both hoses up and hoses down, but hoses down only barely fits and the power supply shroud is cutting into the tubes.
Hoses up is actually better usually, means any air will be trapped at the top of the loop in the pipes and wont enter the pump
Also tried rocking the pc back and forth, no effect.
Just some gurgling but the noise stayed consistent.
Yeah then I'd return
I just got a few days ago, so that’s probably a safe call. Thanks for your thoughts
np
looking for reccomendations on a good fan upgrade for my pc. i currently have 4 stock case fans and 3 lian li st120mm fans on my AIO cooler. id like to make all 7 fans white fans to go with the rest of the build. easy RGB control is a plus.
How much are you willing to spend on this? White + rgb + quality fan is going to be a premium
thats fine
its not the worlds best pc but has nice componants and was my 1st build. looking for fans now then i need to locate a company that makes clean aftermarket psu cables
Extensions are safer than custom cables. Cablemod is generally good.
that's the site I was looking on for a 30 series cable because this Nvidia cable is UGLY! but that will have to wait until after the fans. them being different is bugging me lmao. didn't know if I should just stick with the St120 that I already have some experience with or go a different route.
also sucks trying to find just 7 fans too. I only find packs of 3.
Getting a 3 pack of st120 plus a single is an option. Personally in your shoes I'd go for the uni fans, sl120. You can get two 3 packs and a single fan, and it should be easier to cable manage with the interconnect system they have.
I see what you mean, the black fans really stand out
I got the corsair 12 pin cable from best buy, no more adapter. You can get a custom white sleeve to put over it or cut off the black one.
I got more benchmark points with that cable too lol
What's my beat option as far as finding the single fans so I only have to source 7 and not 9. And yeah I'm hoping the cable mod is a solid choice.
Newegg sells single sl120 fans
Perfect! Thank you!
2 packs of 3 and a single
They sell single packs in pretty much every fan?
A lot of them yeah. Might not always be in stock because shortage.
Yo
I have a question
It's ok but of a stupid one but like idk
On aios do you have to put water in em
you dont have to put water in them since they already have water in them hence all in one
has everything
Okay
has the tubing, has the block, has the radiator, has the fans, has the water
Only ancient 2010 era AIO coolers needed to be filled, modern stuff is all sealed and ready
Some have fill ports, but you don't need to fill them for years
So I’m so confused this cooler was $800 at one point nows it’s $460 does anyone know what the actual-price is :ASUS ROG Ryujin II 360 RGB all-in-one liquid CPU cooler 360mm Radiator
I wanna buy one but I don’t wanna pay 200 over retail for a cooler
MSRP is 310$ iirc, but it isn't worth much over 150$ anyways
I love my lian li galahad. Great price and works very well.
Ek made a 280mm rgb aio finally
I pretty pretty much just have the bracket left to be able to put on my cooler. I need a lga1700 bracket tho which nzxt is OOS for and put me in line. Can I request the bracket through newegg since that is actually who I ordered the cooler from?
Newegg won't have them
Dam
So like I have a i9 12900k, z690 asus maximus, ddr5 g.skill 6000 cl36 would it be wrong of me to like just use a aio?
Cause I think it's ok my friend thinks it's stupid and I should do a custom loop
Arctic liquid freezer II 360+ size for that hot chip
can confirm great aio
I was going to look at getting a kraken
Not as good cooling on those
Keep in mind your 12900k can use 240W of power at stock settings
and much more expensive
All that energy translates to a lot of heat, you really do need one of the best coolers
If there's no wire in the way/stopping it for a sec with your finger doesn't work rma time
Anyone know where I can buy the CORSAIR iCUE H170i ELITE LCD Display Liquid CPU Cooler OR the upgrade kit?
But screen
Still ridiculous but ppl have proven they'll pay for it
https://www.in-win.com/en/cooling/ase120
anyone have experience with these? thinking or replacing my LL120s
No but be quiet just released silent wing fans that look like that if that's the style you're looking for
I want subtle RGB. BeQuiet stuff is not available here, unfortunately
Shame :/
Get cooler master mf 120 prismatics
10/10
I mean its just 30 obnoxiously bright LEDs on each fan
I was dead seriously considering it
if thats what you like, then have at it bud. live your best life
Nah fam I dont even like rgb lmfao
Just wanna make it as disgustingly rgb as I can
"disgustingly rgb " 🤣
feel that definition in my soul
just leave it on rainbow wave
ALL THE COLOURS
oh snap! HAHAHAHAHA. amazing
I was not kidding when I said it's disgustingly RGB lmao
I paid for 30 obscenely bright leds imma use 30 obscenely bright leds
@shrewd juniper look lmao
Lol
I miss the old logitech logo
Hey guys, I need some help please. From newegg, I want to order a Kraken Z63 in white color, but I'm not sure if the LGA 1700 bracket is included in the box, can anyone please confirm, or give me a newegg link?
I already have a kraken z63 in black color which is a waste for now, I gotta finish my 12th Gen build
To start, z63 is not a great cooler for the price, but if you really really wanted it, well, it's a 50/50 chance, but you can get brackets from NZXT if necessary.
https://support.nzxt.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407896253339-How-to-get-the-LGA-1700-Bracket
That's right, due to long waiting queue, I decided to buy a new Kraken instead, as I've heard that they are shipping new coolers with those brackets
They were making new coolers with new brackets, but retailers still have old stock, so that's why it's 50/50
Got it. Can you please recommend a good white cooler for 12700K
Lian LI Galahad 360mm
I have h510 elite, need 280mm
Pretty sure Lian LI made a Galahad 280mm too, but would change case too if possible xD
haha, its brand new, can't return because I'm in middle east
Sad international return policies are annoying
yup, the govt duties and taxes etc, that's why I don't want to get involved in it, but really interested in 12700K, or else, I can go with the 11700K. I need the 12th gen for production workflow, fulltime
There are some kraken coolers which are sold directly by nzxt on newegg, I contacted their customer support, no answer yet
NZXT is OOS on their LGA1700 brackets with no forsure time on when they will ship it to me. Is there like a temp $50 cooler that forsure comes with the bracket on amazon? Kind of really need the pc for school with a week left so will overnight it.
Also preferably something I don't have to apply thermal paste to. I don't think you need to apply thermal paste with a fan cooler correct?
Idrk
you need to...
I'm also stuck with the LGA 1700 issue
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08WPDD6GD/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1Z5H6ZGWCMTNX&psc=1
Think I'm just going to order this for the time being. What kind of paste is good enough to get me by that I can also get on Amazon?

ARCTIC MX-5
I'm not sure about the cooler performance though
ty
welcome
dont order that, overpriced, what cpu is it for, either get cheaper alternative or better for same price, and just use the stock paste
not unless its very new but ek has one now
What cooler should I get then on amazon that will just get me by for now.
And switched it out to the arctic paste
what cpu is it for?
12700k
just use the stock paste
the absolute minimum "to get by" cpu cooler for a 12700k is a scythe fuma 2
I just need a cooler to get me by for now.
technically an id cooling se 224xt would be the same perf of a u12s but 30$ instead of 50
it would overheat af so for that to work you would need to power limit in bios
yes
yes that will handle a 12700k till you can get better
Aight ty just overnighted that. Have finals and projects so need to get this built and running tomorrow night.
Because I messed up and started dismantling my pre built.
ahh nice
which one? I can only see 240 and 120 on newegg
Sorry
We can't find this Item. Please check your Item#.
what country?
Saudi Arabia
ahh
That's the issue, it shows me some kraken coolers, but I'm not sure about LGA 1700
even contacted nzxt directly, still no response
https://sa.pcpartpicker.com/product/smDkcf/arctic-liquid-freezer-ii-280-728-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-acfre00066a you can get this if you want a 280
yeah, optimally a 360mm but arctic is the best tied with EK rb and lian li galahad for intel
np
@shrewd juniper That's not a lga1700 cooler..
nvm thought you meant arctic liquid freezer
ohh scythe fuma 2? should have the lga 1700
What do you mean should have the lga1700?
but its the same issue, like NZXT
nvm it its not
says contact the manufacturer for bracket
Can't even cancel order bc amazon is having issues.
BMH why not just buy a liquid freezer?
I have an nzxt cooler. If there is a cheap freezer that actually has the bracket I will get that.
same here
most of them you need to request from manufacturer, usually arent in the box yet
maybe just return it?
msi does ship in the box by the way

Possibly but most likely have to contact noctua for bracket
They do have a mounting bracket here:
https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NM-i17xx-MP78-chromax-black-Mounting-Platform/dp/B09FSWN7XR
But check its compatibility with the cooler models
I already ordered two things and amazon is shtting the bed and not letting me cancel orders. So unless I can get those cancelled I'm not touching anything else on Amazon rn.
But thx
Ok it let me cancel one order now I just have to figured out if this has the bracket or not for the noctua cooler.
https://noctua.at/en/productfaqs/productfaq/view/id/247/
Mine is the NH-U12S redux. It says it should have been putting the LGA 1700 bracket in October I believe so ya'll think I'm good and it will have it?
The following table shows when individual Noctua CPU cooler models will approximately be available with LGA1700 mounting hardware included. Please see this FAQ for how to check if your cooler has LGA1700 hardware included.
Not sure
I'm also confused with this 12th gen, already have a kraken cooler, still waiting for the asus mobo, will try the old socket on it, gotta take care of the pressure though, 12th gen sits bit higher
Looking at the site I believe it should and it is shipping through Noctua not amazon so I just got this for now to get me by.

Watch NZXT get the brackets back in stock in like two days.
That's always my luck.
If they do you can just return the cooler then
dang, what a pain w / the bracket fiasco huh. Well, this is another good cooler option for $40 ish. No 1700 bracket though of course https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0982VWQN1
Damn I'm sad, I need to change my phanteks cooler because they don't make LGA1700 brackets
even emailed them
currently running this
Thinking of getting a 12700 or 12900 CPU
I do have room for a 2 or 3x 120mm rad in the top of my case
should I go liquid instead ?
Yes, 240mm, ideally 280mm+ aio is min for 12700k and 280mm, ideally 360mm+ aio min for 12900k
Get an arctic liquid freezer ii 280mm + or lian li Galahad 360mm or ek rgb 280mm +
Does this include the lga1700 bracket or no ?
LGA1700 mounting bracket will be available in late Nov 2021
are we late nov 2021 yet ?
Probably still have to call/email to get the bracket
AAhhh yeah makes sense
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
you have to order it from lian li's official store on aliexpress
If I order my parts right now and have to wait a month before I assemble things I'm scared of running out of warranty
before I get my things

oh nice guess I'm fine then
Question, is a Cooler Master M240L 240mm version 1 AIO enough to cool a Intel I7-10700K?
don't get that
go with liquid freezer ii or ek aio instead
Already bought, just was wondering if it was worth going through the RMA process to make the most of the 80$ I already spent.
oh hm
Since the one I got was a lemon
Thank yah!

price pls
190$
Yeah
All fans should be unifans
So I did order the backordered version of the lian li aio
Even tho it's back ordered it will arrive in time since the bracket is only coming in early january from aliexpress...
I'll report back on how long it takes to get the bracket
These came with my nzxt cooler. This isn’t the right bracket or brackets to be the lga1700 tho right?
The bigger one is plastic the smaller is metal.
Oh yeah nvm reading pamplet def not.
Founders edition has a weird PCB, reference PCB is what many aib cards use
@mint spire this is what founders PCB looks like
This is reference
Which company makes reference?
How would u get your hands on one?
Or is it just manufacturer exclusive
Basically, Nvidia sends the reference schematics to anyone that makes cards (MSI Asus gigabyte etc), and they either choose to use it or make their own pcb
Ya'll think I could just order a LGA1700 bracket though and it would work with my cooler or does it have to be specific to the cooler?
speific
Far as I know, reference card would be like most of the basic blower models.
Afaik cards like trinity and xlr8 are reference PCB too
Idk trinity but xlr8 I agree, had an xlr8 card w/ a blower. Aib's don't usually want to use extra money/effort on those certain cards.
Yea but just saying not just blowers since xlr8 looks like
Ah, so now there's many 2-3 ref models. Good to know. Makes sense w/ todays stuff. I figure almost every maker has ref, then some also have a handful of non-ref cards like Aorus Strix FTW3 (maybe not last one).
is 65 celsius normal for gaming laptops ?
while gaming?
thats normal
gaming laptops have bad cooling for the most part, and tend to be very loud
would cooling pads help by any chance
maybe by a few degrees
thankss
Eh
It may or may not help
But laptop fans are indeed loud
And 65c is amazing for a laptop
Optimized for static pressure during the development of the new p12 PWM PST, special emphasis was placed on a focused airstream and thus a high static pressure. The fan guarantees extremely efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance. Therefore, the p12 PWM PST is particularly suitable ...
these fans are fine for a p400a case right?
not fine, they're one of the best fans
so yeah you're lookin at the good stuff
alright ty ty

I just kind of feel like if I'm going to spend $30 on a cooler might as well spend a little more
you can get the aio if you wish but you can get a peerless assasin 120 instead and that will do just fine, also if you use that attitude youll 50$ your way into spending 300$ extra for hardly any more perf if at all
"diminishing returns"
Time to bother w/ a re-paste
Where does the water go in a radiator?
In an aio ? It's already in
Oh right thought they meant fill lol
I dont see how water can enter the fins
Water flows through anything that's bigger than its molecues
the water flows in the channels that run BETWEEN the fins
Does a thicker radiator require stronger fans?
Require is a strong word
ideally, you look for a fan that has the most static pressure
some fans do that by spinning fast, others have better fin design. look for fans with high SP, but lower top speed
thats should mean less noise
Why aren’t gpu aio’s more common?
they're annoying to put on
and for watercooled models, it needs the case to have another radiator mount and therefore applicable to less people
because :
- Expensive
- On a cpu if your AIO goes, you can just replace the cooler. On your GPU, if the AIO goes, more than likely your GPU is a brick
You can custom loop it but that's spensive
sure, as long as the PCB is compatible with a block.
also, and this is a big one, AIO cards dont generally perfom much better than air cooled ones.
cerainly not enough to justify the costs
$73 good or nah?
Nah
Is there any good one under $100
What cpu you tryna cool?
5 5600x
You don't need more than a frost spirit 140
But if you want aio, arctic liquid freezer /ek rgb/lian li Galahad
240mm +
Don't those CM units leak?
Idk if that one in particular does but they're mediocre at best and have a history of leaking anyway so i wouldn't trust
Adding that the "hybrid" GPUs w/ aio connected don't cool much better than the best 3fan models. Would be neat to have a 92mm cpu hsf or something like that on a gpu.
is it a good idea to install aio like this
that's fine, best would be mounting it on top tho
mounting it on top is impossible with ram
does the way the cable faces matter
nope
Is it ok to leave all my fans on exhaust for a custom loop
Im planning to use 2 radiators and i saw a vid saying that if i leave one radiator on intake and the other on exhaust its just gonna take the hot air from the bottom rad and take it to the top rad which wont be efficent
Umm i mean technically but it's a poor idea
It will be bad for cooling and create more dust
You'll want front rad intake, top rad exhaust
The front will take in cold air and the top will exhaust hot air
Im using a phanteks neo qube
There isnt a front panel
Just top, bottom, and side
Side is gonna be occupied cause im planning to use a distro plate
Something ive been wondering is there a reason that AIOs arent made where you can see the liquid like custom liquid cooling?
Same thing applies if you replace side with front
Ohh then bottom rad should be intake
Alr then
I mean it would be clear plastic
Wouldn't look v good
