#old-cooling
1 messages Β· Page 19 of 1
Slightly worse than me on a full water loop
So your answer is again, yes
You've overkilled it

AM5's IHS being so thick and ryzen efficiency means that basic cooling is ridiculously powerful on these things
And by stacking the deck on cooling you gain basically nothing
A dual tower is good enough for most of all AM5 ryzens
If not all, if you leave pbo off
Oh wow ok
That's very good to know!
I got a little irresponsible and broke the budget a tiny bit on this build so I'm a little paranoid about anything going wrong π So far smooth sailing though, it's running beautifully and I'm super happy with it.
I was especially worried about the temps because I was like "I know I did a good job with the thermal paste this time" (I had to redo it on my old build bc I did it wrong lmao)
It's basically, as long as it doesn't throttle at the tjmax
It's fine
You have a boatload of headroom there
π«‘
When my pc turns on my aio makes a gurgling sort of noise. It didn't used to make that noise, it started recently. Should I be worried?
That could be an indication of a leak if fluid level is dropping, but it's probably nothing
Permeation be more likely than leak tho
Which just happens with age
But if it's only at startup I'm betting on it being nothing of note
Do yall know if the dell 2023 g16 with the 4060 has any thermal issues?
what's the price on it?
it's a fine laptop, but only if it's on a good deal
Like 1200
1200 is pretty meh yeah
you're looking to game, right?
Try 1000 or less for a 4060 laptop and it's good
Most laptops now are pretty good, just a case of filtering through the pros and cons
the only red flag is msi
gigabyte is ok if cheap
but lenovo loq tends to be that cheapest option that's as good, if not better
compared to tuf
gf63 is the one i would absolutely avoid
cyborg ok, passable
has big drawbacks tho
outside of low tdp
single fan (which is fine for low tdp but there's noise concerns)
and only one ssd slot
cyborg has pretty nice battery life despite being intel
but gf63 barely lasts 4 hours
bravo, the ones with 7035HS cpus, those are pretty decent
not tuf good, or loq good
but it's pretty usable
Sorry it was the 4070 version, the reason I was getting the laptop is for uni bc I'm going to be an airline pilot and they recommend bringing a computer that can run a flight sim for extra practice
I mis typed earlier
The reason I was looking at this one was the i9 and the ludicrous 32 gigs of ram
If you want high processing power get ryzen 9
more efficient and pretty fast
They can do similar for like, half the wattage
And the igpu in them is solid for battery use
Runs light games
4070 is kinda bleh tho
4070m is a slightly better 4060m
ye
Sale on best buy
Ideal specs
If a 2080 will run it then a 4060 or 70 will be fine
yeah
laptops have no x3d
Hey
unless you drop 5k into one

Sedge
yeah

7945HX3D only exists on Strix Scar 17 X3D
This laptop is mostly for class flight sim and a few light games ie silent hunter 5
Is ddr6 that much faster than 5?
My current laptop (an old thinkpad is still on ddr3
nitro 16 is also another solid lappy
MFR-PART#: G733PYV-XH97 DISPLAY: 17.3 WQHD 2560X1440 16:9 300nits Anti-Glare DCI-P3:100% WV CPU:AMD Ryzen9 7945HX3D (16-core/32-thread, 128MB L3 cache, up to 5.4GHz) MEMORY:DDR5 32GB (16GB DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM *2 ) jd STOREAGE:2TB PCIE G4 (PERFORMANCE) SSD GRAPHICS:NVIDIA GeForce RTX4090 Laptop GPU ...
A cool $3699 for X3D and 4090

Can get the same experience with a basic laptop, parsec, and a full desktop but be completely faster
yep
Same price
No kidding
ya
you can safely pick up the nitro
$70-90 for 32 gigs of ddr5 sodimm
if you need the upgrade
The nvidia nvs 5400m is a joke
i can imagine
It's this bad
Which was fine in 2012
All the ram is ddr3
So the 16 gigs I got cramed in there is like 1 or 2 of ddr4 or 5
Compared to more modern cards

94x faster lmao
That's 3dm11 too
Not even something that fully uses a 4090 iirc
Yet some how I can still run sea of thieves
At like 25 fps but still
... on a good day
SoT runs on a toaster now
I was running 4K on that on a gtx 1080
It's old like, UE and dx11
Fallout 4 on potato mode got like 23
Ie only with unofficial patch to remove some bugs and minimum graphics
Wait is directx 11 old? I thought it was still standard
I can't complain too much tho bc I got it for free of the hs tech guy when he got an upgrade
I made the mistake of trying to run dcs and got .2 fps
Also the computer i had before the thinkpad still had a floppy disk
damn
You don't know pain till you have tried to install windows 7 via floppy
It took 14 disc's to install windows
I'm just glad I didn't go for 8.1 which can be purchased as 3711 floppys
Read it and weep
Oh crap I just realized windows 7 was 2153 I did my math very wrong
I couldn't remember the corect number so I crunched it and used the wrong data no wonder it took all day to install like 8 years ago
Still faster than Dial up
I think Japan just finally moved on from floppy recently
What it's been Obsolete for eons
Just this year even
No more CDs too
I better get some sleep it's like 1 am
Good night
Ouch
Back in my day, what we called a "floppy" disk was actually floppy!
It was always floppy, just not the whole thing. The magnetic film on the inside was paper thin.
It's zip disks and the like that aren't floppy
They wouldn't fit in the budget regardless but does any cooler with the little digital screen Infront put images on the little screen or is it only that kraken one?
There's several coolers that can do that
I've had to deal with the 8.5 inch ones before
Deepcool digital have temperature displays on their towers. It's about as affordable as a screen can get
You could do AK400 digital if you really want something like that for your 7500f/7600
If I ever get one I would specifically get one where u can change pic on front
But I was tryna figure out of the one that show temps if u can change it to show a pic or if it's only a. Select few
This PC build is jus smth I'm getting with. Christmas money quarter of birthday money n jus month budget and a half
These you can very easily pay like $150 for
Not really worth it
Budget for each month is like 300 to 400 on free stuff so I can't go buying more parts next month gonna spend that n the next month on PC accessors n games like a new mouse n games I didn't have on old PC and a GPU holder n etc
It's a fun gimmick but there are much cheaper, better ways to do it
By atleast September the plan is to have CPU changed. Keep power supply if it turns out to be good n then maybe switch motherboard
GPU I plan on using ts for a while while if possible
Like you can buy a raspberry pic screen for $100 and mount it in the place of a 120mm fan, and you have a full screen in the case for less
Run dynamic wallpapers, idle games, full animated gifs instead of small low res ones
It looks way better, there's no competition
True
You can also do this exact same thing with an old phone and a usb cable
I don't plan on getting either anytime soon though. Just been watching high end pc builds n almost all of them have it
For free
Just know when you see it, they spent 100-200 dollars for a pure aesthetic
π
It's a whole gpu upgrade or cpu upgrade
Or ram upgrade
That stuff just ain't worth it imo, when your old android phone can do better for free lol
I get it's preference at times but saw one girl get 500gb n a good but not as good as rest of parts motherboard
But had like a 300 dollar cooler
N a 170 case
π
So few people need a 170 dollar case LOL
She claimed it was for work n gaming but idk 500gb with her budget jus didn't seem rigjty
It's not
I just want the h9 eliteπ
Or the over hyped lin one
Aesthetic wise smh
Dynamic o11?
Wait I think I meant flow idk
All elite nzxt's are basically unusable
I don't like RGB strip
Idk I jus like very plain glass view
Mesh is how it breathes tho
I know lol
Lol
Would rather suffocste being handsome n I think the case would agree
Well those would be the ones I'd check out, for similar panoramic glass but way better price or performance
Or even aesthetics
O11 vision is a good case
And yet it's aesthetics first
It's a lot to spend on a case tho
Current one I have came with nc fans n has a little spot in bottom to add figure or that's how it's advertised
Pretty sure that little spot is for airflow n has mesh st bottom
That's a really weird gimmick to focus on for a brand
The ones that would use that too are the ones that say like "GUNDAM THEME" in their reddit post
And then it's just the one gundam in that spot
Nothing else

That's what you have rn??
Check second image lol idk how new egg works tho maybe they just got pocs from Internet
Ordered yes
I know it's airflow is trash smh
That looks like a good case
No it looks good
π
Sama normally good
Airflow side not front
Nv5/Nv7 derivative
And sama quality usually good
I'd take a chance with that
Looks like it comes with no fans though
A couple packs of thermalright c12c's would fix that
Yeah wth they just stick figures in the corner lol
Like it's a pedestal
It's just a dead space tho
Lol
The fans r pre installed
Atleast it says in description I think
Fans r cheap but the fact they were ore installed n the case looked this good with no mesh sealed the deal. Budget for a white case was 60 but I couldn't resist lol
4 is good rightM
π
Second question Mr felix
I know argb means u can change colors if I'm not mistaken
You could get 3 more if you wanted to be pedantic (airflow course needs direction for vector changes) but probably wouldn't do much
Yes
But for something like this how would I change the colors if u know not specifically but jus curjoud
But...?
Like for argb in the case it makes sense since it will be connected to motherboard n everything so on monitor u could go in n check n change thru there right?
Usually via mobo software yes
Or openrgb
Or in future just windows
Which will be nice
Ok thx
That's only thing that has confused me
Is how many drivers or things I will have to have downloaded to be able to change colors
What I do when I install windows
Go to the motherboard website
Go to support
(they all have this)
Download the latest bios
Then go to the drivers page
Download basically everything, or at a minimum chipset drivers
In this case, b650 or a620 chipset drivers
And I stick them on a spare usb
A second usb, different to the one I'd install windows with
Then install those right after I install windows
N u do that on a separate computer?
Ok last question
Or same pc before you take it apart/wipe it
This may not be ur field
And idk much Abt internet speed myself but isn't more mbps better?
Didn't you order a mobo with wifi?
If so why is this one with more mbps decently cheaper while the other one has way less
Nope I switched but I haven't bought it yet
So you have a mobo with wifi ye?
Someone told me I can jus use this network card n put it under GPU n it isn't that difficult. Good?
No
Don't buy a network card imo for AM5
Currently switched to b650m pro rs
So many boards have wifi
B650m pro rs has a wifi version
They physically wire wifi in for no effort
That's also 150
π
If you need more than wifi 5 you're honestly not gaming
Lol
Also I would need to check but I think there is a b650 wifi but it isn't the pro rs wifi that may be in same range
The only thing you lose is cpu overclocking
Which on ryzen is mostly pointless
Personally I would switch
But b650m pro rs wifi also decent
Now as I said haven't checked diff in price but if the b650 wifi not pro rs wifi but jus the wifi version is at same price range could u go between the a620m pro rs wifi or the b650 wifi
I would definitely opt for the preinstalled wifi though over the wifi card 1000% btw
Even if the extra card is faster
Less things to plug into the mobo is always better
Both aesthetically and configuration wise
If you intend to do cpu overclocking, b650m
Otherwise a620m
If you're not familiar with cpu overclocking, a620m
That answered lol
Idk what that even means besides slightly I think
Also I switched back to 5 7600 for cpu
Overclocking is dialing up the cpu for the free performance baked in
With same GPU should still be able to handle the games I mentioned perfectly?
Which on ryzen is like
Yeh I ain't doing allat
1 or 2% for a lot of instability and potential for blue screen of death
π
Won't make a difference
π
It's an inside joke
Hahaha
Recently found out farming equipment is insanely expensive
Yeah man, they work a large scale business basically
π₯π₯
Pay hundreds of thousands for good tractor and trailer tech
Oh also is it build posted somewhere in here?
Build?
I have a few builds
Smh
I hate the rich
Lol jk
U got it dream one?
Each time u see it I meant to say ur or u
7950x3d+4090
13900KS/14900K+7900XTX
5900X+6900XT
6800H+3060M
11500H+3060M
Felix
That looks like a bunch of calculations to me I have no clue what that even means in the slightest
It's fine lol
Well thx again
Buying GPU tmrw n rest of build should be bought by end of monthπ
Nc build but I won't lie to u
I thought that was a pacman map on the right at first glance
Hahahaha
It's an alphacool eisblock
Basically the only rgb in that system pretty much
There's a bit behind it but you can't see it cos the 4090 is enormous
Well I normally can't
I normally leave the rgb off on the right side one, completely darked out that build looks really nice
Welp I got a lot to do today, so good luck with it. I'm out βοΈ
Are these good? Is there cheaper equivalent?
https://www.newegg.com/phanteks-liquid-cooling-system-t30-120-triple-pack/p/N82E16835709193?Item=N82E16835709193
Idk but I will say 29 reviews n all being 5 stars is pretty good
Prolly thermalright b12s/k12s
$85 for some fans is crazy lol
7th of the price, not as good I'd imagine but still plenty
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JmfnTW/thermalright-tl-c12c-x3-6617-cfm-120-mm-fans-3-pack-tl-c12c-x3-d6
Pretty much
B12 or gentle typhoon get really close for a lot less
Like
Indiscernibly close
I submitted a warranty claim for my Lian Li AOI cooler but never got a response...
They are constantly loud and my CPU keeps over heating
They have problems yeah
Even the brand new ones
What do you recommend for replacement
What CPU
Also what colour do you want
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
And the colour
Whatβs that
That's an acceptable answer lol
Ok
Look up thermalright phantom spirit evo
Similarly
Thermalright peerless assassin (SE or non SE) ARGB black
Thatβs different
My current one attaches to the top of the case
This one does not?
Yes
It's an air cooler not water
If you want to use PBO I have a different suggestion
Is that equivalent to just having a better fan by saying yes to that lol
Well compared to the galahad, if you had unifans it would've been almost comparable
I just want to be able to play all my games without the junk sounding like an airplane
Yeah it wouldn't
Whatβs your 2Nd rec
How big is your case
The tower I recommended would be way better
Much quieter fans and better cooling
So I gotta get new stuff
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZQBzK8/thermalright-aqua-elite-v3-6617-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-aqua-elite-360-black-v3
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/znH7YJ/ek-aio-basic-360-77-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-ek-aio-basic-360
Pick
If you want some background, they ship noctua stuff rebadged as their own
Same factory, same fans
But just cheaper and better
Price β performance
If you look these up you should find good reviews (not the aqua elite, that's a variation of a frozen notte)
Which would you recommend I do development and gaming so I slightly push the pc sometimes
And that big block just sits ontop the cpu?
I want quiet tbh
And when I mean
Quiet
I mean like
Never makes a sound
The big towers will be very quiet too
I need that I share my room unfortunately lol
But not dead quiet
Quiet but not dead quiet
The thing is the fans are good
The ek basic is the only one with somewhat noisy fans at load
Galahad is noisy
So which one is the dead quiet one
Deepcool LS is noisy
The aqua should be, the phantom spirit evo 1000% will be, the peerless assassin will be
Quiet aio would be like...
Cooler master atmos
If you wanted something not thermalright
Or arctic liquid freezer ii refurb off ebay
For like 70$
Thermalright is like the new noctua if that makes sense
You place it on the front
Not the top
Put it this way I'm pretty sure your 3070 ventus will be louder than every suggestion I've just made
Hm
I run the ek myself
Maybe the phantom spirit then
And it's dead quiet (with adjusted pump)
The phantom spirit is just a better noctua nh d15
You probably know what that is
Quietest and best tower cooler that's been out from noctua for like 15 years
Lmk how it goes
What do you think about case fans
Should I leave the factory ones
They are βquietβ but is quieter an option
Quieter is an option
At this point you'll make everything quiet but the card will still scream haha
O the phantom has no RGB lol
It does
A little bit
If you want more, peerless assassin
Peerless assassin is very similar, just a tiny bit worse
SE or non-SE doesn't matter
As long as it's under $40 and you like it basically
Easy install?
The other one I'm suggesting
Just off the old , thermal paste, and put the new?
No
As I said quite similar performance
But the phantom spirit is way quieter
Like should never make a sound just about
Hmm a decision
The only other rgb I really have if the 3 front case fans
Removing the cpu cooler fans takes it all
Look up thermalright c12c's
They're the fans on the peerless
And on the phantom
Thermalright k12
If you're interested in changing them
For the case?
Ye
No rgb?
Tho as I said, at that point you'll make the pc so quiet the gpu will be by far the loudest part
Oh oopss
So case fans decided
The other ones^
Well yeah man, if you want quiet pc
I'll show you the best of both

All the choices are good
Pick your poison
I donβt get the rgb just on the outside
?
You mean you want rgb on the fan blades too?
Sorry if itβs worded bad haha
Yea I think it looks neat
So Iβll get the fan blades for case with rgb
Yeah if you want man
I need to decide for the cooler tho
I have reviews I can pull up if you're curious
GN called this the king of 2023, the peerless assassin
And you only have to really replace the fans if they break
Which, you know where to buy

Not discounting that fans usually last many years
And this likely wouldn't be necessary

But does it have RGB fans
The peerless assassin does
Like full rgb
Look
I guess Iβll do those
While we're at it, if I could make a suggestion
To make your pc quieter
What resolution do you play games on
Oh 1440p
How adverse would you be to swapping to a new card
Flip the old one, upgrade
Or even fan modding it
Which card?
Your 3070 ventus
I got my current one 2 years ago
Is it worth / time to upgrade
https://a.co/d/9K8BJRC should I get paste
ARCTIC, a leading manufacturer of low-noise PC coolers and components, initiated and continues to shape the trend towards quiet cooling systems. In addition to an extensive range of CPU coolers and fans, ARCTIC produces high-quality monitor arms, wall mounts, thermal paste as well as thermal pads...
When replacing the cooler you donβt need to repaste?
I was thinking sidegrade to quieter or deshroud the card
Comes with paste so
But good paste or β¦? lol
Ye
Eh I think Iβll skip the GPU for now
Alr
we will do a case fan and cpu fan cooler upgrade
But you know, take the fans off your 3070, stick the fans on that we looked at above
The c12c
With a couple zip ties
It's jank but it would be a lot quieter I'm pretty sure
Eh it doesnβt need to be that quiet tbh
Alr
Just no more airplane cpu cooler
Yea well that should be unlikely to happen now
Ye ofc
Idk when I should upgrade stuff to keep it smooth
Should be fine long time
We will see
Perfect ordering the fans now
You donβt think I should get the Mx6 tho
Not necessary?
I don't think so no
Marginal improvement and then you probably won't use it again for ages
I mean up to you
It's $7
But I'd say meh
Np
Let us know how it goes
Everything can be reversed and fixed if you use amazon so
Just hoping I donβt damage nothing swapping the cpu cooler
So should be nothing to worry about
I feel bad for all the galahad owners imo
π
Feels like a lot of people were affected
Yea and they donβt respond to us π€‘
Probably inundated
I hear about it frequently lately
That said, always good to send follow up emails
They won't make it an issue until you do in my experience
As with all warranty services
I send a follow up no reply either lol
Thatβs why Iβm giving up on them for now
The cooler comes with paste right
Iβll watch a video on it later but is it as simple as remove old one (wipe old paste?????) and then paste and place new cooler ontop it?
Ye you wipe it off
You can use alcohol wipes ideally
You know like the ones from kfc?
(ever been to kfc?)
Those are fine on the parts?
Ye
Yes I have KFC π
Alcohol is good for PC's
Lol
Those little wipes they give you
Those are alcohol wipes
I donβt think I have any tbh
Similarly you can get 99% alcohol from a shop
And spray it onto a paper towel
Very effective
Or just use a good paper towel
Paper towels are good, serviettes
Toilet paper if you're desperate
Paper towel sounds better lol
Just make sure you leave no paper behind
Perfect Iβm excited
Like whatever you use
You don't need to do a perfect job
But I'd get the top surface basically spotless at the minimum
Just scared to break it
It won't break if you leave it in the socket and don't wipe stupidly hard
Picture this analogy for me
You're 45
New parent
You're 2 year old toddler just ripped a fat duce
And you're wiping his ass
That level of gentle

Got it good analogy ππ
Like a real fatty surprise
And you gotta be 99% thorough

I need a coffee
Alr I gotta dip good luck
I got the fans
But I might have got myself in a Small mess
I am trying to setup the new fans but Iβm confused on the plugs
Idk where this one goes
That's ARGB 3 pin
Ugh I caused a disaster
I put this into the MOBO
Then I daisy chained the other cable
And this one I left into nothing
Oh no

I think I know what may have happened if you left it turned on too long
So the first pic is the fan motor plug
The second is daisy chained rgb
And the third is a fan motor daisy chain
Rgb again
They go into 5v argb or for other boards jrainbow (msi)
The fan motor plugs go into the fan mobo headers
So like
Cpu fan
Aio pump
Cha_fan1
Etc
So Iβm doing it wrong?
Idk what you've done
As long as you haven't plugged the 5v argb into any fan headers or 12v rgb nothing should've broken
There's a mobo manual to interpret these things
- there is a cable coming down from casing where I daisy chained
The middle picture
Is that correct?
This comes down from casing
Weird
Do the pins on it pop out
Like can you pull them out somewhat gently
Like you found something weird in your 2yr old toddler's hands πππ
Not coming out
Alr so that's a weird case plug
Normally they don't have pins but plugs
I really wish I could add another t there but anyway
So fans into motherboard 5v argb
So case doesn't have anything like this?
Nope
Which case is this??
Lian Li Lancool II Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case
Yea it does
That's probably what it is
Which cable is this
I plugged that into the MOBO
As long as thatβs plugged in I should be good right
I daisy chained the rgb and plugged the fan plugs in
Am I safe to turn it on
Iβm just confused since each fan plug also has a daisy chain piece on it
But Iβm not using them
The daisy chains are so you can attach them all to one plug
Ah I donβt need that then the old ones each had their own
Thatβs case RGB
So I setup my peerless assassaij
But I canβt figure out where to put the RGB cable
Check your motherboard manual. The header will be labeled something like argb, jrgb, things like that.
@knotty sparrow
@sacred wren
DON'T FREAK OUT
OMG
EVERYBODY CALM DOWN
REVERSE C12C

WTHHHH
$7 A FAN WTF
REVERSE FANS AT THE ENTRY LEVEL????
WTF???
The cpu fan is equipped with a 4-pin power connector and a cable with a serial ARGB lighting connector, which plugs directly into the motherboard. γSilent Fan Sizeγ Model: TL-C12W-S V3;Size: 120 120 25mm; Speed: 1500RPMΒ±10%; Noise β€ 25.6dBA; Connector: 4pin pwm; Lighting Interface: 3pin ARGB,Current: 0.2A; Air Pressure: 1.53mm H2O, Air Flow: 66....
INFINITY MIRROR AT THE ENTRY LEVEL????
These are like, some of the best fans you can buy for the price
and they have high end aesthetics now
LCD FANS WHEN THERMALRIGHT
is that these in black? https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-TL-C12B-S-Connector-Computer-Bearing/dp/B0CP5GWBGX/ref=sr_1_7?crid=H82J0HZ36NSG&keywords=TL-C12W-S+V3&qid=1707896736&s=industrial&sprefix=tl-c12w-s+v3%2Cindustrial%2C318&sr=1-7
$20!?
$6.50 a fan for something that's like
two strokes short of a unifan
what the actual
I HAVE SLEPT ON THIS
They're C12 family
so they're 100% decent
$16!?
do they have a reverse 140
$3 for freaking infinity fan effects
insane
it's almost like fan brands rip you off for this crap
WHO WOULDA THOUGHT
Ahh
I can't stay
this is so crazy but I gotta dip

I have found
a GOLD MINE
for aesthetic recommendations
Distro plates are fun
I feel like it's a soft tube loop
The lines don't look straight but VERY coordinated
You might be right about that, with the bends taken care of with these
what are the benefits of water
like if i were to do a full loop with both the gpu and cpu on water
Water moves heat more efficiently than most other materials so it's better at moving heat away from things that need to be cooled
Which means the parts can be kept cooler under load, which might get a few percent better performance
It really is only a few percent
Though it can make overclocking better, more stable
would it make a room cooler
actually wait no
itd do the opposite wouldnt it
since its moving the heat out of the pc more effectively
Right. It would move the heat away from the components and into the air.
The biggest benefit to water is sound imo
I wouldnβt mind considering my gpu sounds like itβs going to take flight when fans are past 50%
Deshroud can be just as huge for something specific
makes you not thirsty
Go look at thermalright Aqua elite v3
Thermalright frozen notte 360
Or thermalright frozen magic scenic v2
Or
Ek basic 360
Paying over about $100 for an aio not worth it for a screen
You can buy a much bigger raspberry pi screen separately and mount that to the case for $80
Not to mention, like the kraken aios, those aren't really noteworthy, the thermaltake ones
How do people get watercooling pipes? It always fascinates me that people manage to get ones that fit perfectly. Are there ones designed for specific setups, are many of the sets easily customisable or do they require some specialist DIY skills?
So technically water-cooling "pipes" tubes can be had with an aio (all in one) or what you're most likely talking about is custom water cooling, you need to buy a cpu/gpu block, a pump, tubes (either soft or hard, hard is honestly impractical, requires basically sawing and bending with heat), fittings and a reservoir (can be included in the pump as a combo)
do these two go together? they are incredibly stiff but it's the only plug that matches on these fans when I'm trying to daisy chain them
found it thanks
hard looks so good when its done by people who know what theyre doing though

@sacred wren sorry to ping you, but i need some assistance with my fans, do you think you could take a look?
Possibly
I can't make any promises I'll know what's up but I'll tty
so I've been trying to daisy chain them right
and I got the rgb connected
but I can't figure out where the power cords are supposed to go
this is the rgb cord
Can I see the plug for power?
Those either go onto your mobo or a fan hub
There should be 3 or 4 pin headers on your mobo, not the ones labeled rgb or argb
right
are these not chainable?
I can chain the rgb but not the power?
I'm just confused because I thought the point of daisy chains was to use one header for multiple fans
Yes, and it's not for rgb
It's for powering the fans
You want an rgb hub or a splitter
You can chain the power together
is that something extra that I have to buy
and how can I chain the power? none of these plugs go into each other
nvm I figured it out
WHAT DID I SAY WHEN THE P12 MAX CAME OUT LET'S GOO (and the lf2 stock kinda dipped)
That looks so clean
Antec Mod - In Power We TrustConvex Dual Lighting Ring: Convex designed dual lighting ring offered best RGB lighting effect. The slope of the tangent line for the calculated convex design is at 2.76, which prove to yield the best lighting result. In simple words, convex design kept RGB lighting e...
Meh get the thermalright c12c unless you want that ring only look i guess
i want to do a case swap in a few months i think, id do all black but i love the way rgb ringed fans look
are these any good? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C743H79N/ref=twister_B0CJFBHQBZ?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
Ye they're solid, overall there's some very good aesthetic and performance wise different variants of the c12c, also check out the k12 and b12
does thermalright have any 140mm ring fans
B14 maybe?
cause i think I want to swap to the h6 from nzxt, which the bottom intakes are 2 140mm, the reviews for these fans actually have them in a white h6 which looks really good imo
oh another review has the h6 too
Have the H150i Elite Capellix XT on a R7 5800X...doing cinebench with Game Mode Precision Boost Overdrive enabled...are these temps high for having a 360mm AIO?
The 5800X is quite simply hot. There's no way to avoid that. It actually gets hotter than the 5950X because it has a higher heat density.
I can keep mine in the mid 70s when gaming overclocked with PBO on a 420mm AIO.
it being in the 70's during cinebench is extremely good tbh
not fully loaded avx2 but it's impressive
thermalright has infinity fans for like 9 bucks thats wild https://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-TL-M12-1500RPM-Cooling-Desktop/dp/B0CP7QGMQ8/ref=sr_1_53?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0lcivPhjRG9xBVJFNNgS7JkbXQ5KVVSC1b3uWWw1zB3GjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.0_QmdMYQvkBO1RF77Rf1OiAoQiWctxrlygF_RwtI5f8&dib_tag=se&keywords=Thermalright+c12c&qid=1708415239&sr=8-53
WUT
ive been scrolling through their amazon page they have all sorts of stuff
it looks good
they look decent too
it's arguably easily better than a unifan
but it's not their good design
it's similar to the S12
so it shouldn't be bad
should be alright
what do you think of these
i like the design alot
^
it's not GT-based or C12 based
but S12's are functional
they won't be disgusting
this is the first time ive looked at thermalright fans I dont have the numbers and letters memorized nor do i know what they mean
hey I'm not hatin
If you want lots of RGB, an S12 or M12 sounds like a WAY better idea than any bloody $30 corsair or $50 unifan
any day of the week
i just like ring rgb fans
my current favourites for RGB are K12's
unifan type fans are cool but id get sick of how much rgb they have eventually
i cant say im the biggest fan
well yeah
there are bigger fans smh
But @vocal fable this is the big reason why:
lol
but side-by-side the K12/B12 and A12x25 are identical
same performance
except TR has it for almost 1/4 the price and with white and/or rgb
A12x25 is up near Phanteks T30 tier
Or I say near but it's pretty much side by side

Special note: Deepcool mystique
LS720/LT720 but LCD
ok tl;dr ||New best but only if you care about noise. Models ship with vanilla P12, paving the way for a max variant later. It's not overall best and not a massive improvement over LFII, however better aesthetics and there's potentially better coldplate tolerances may surface with this model||

when I case swap I might get a base 360 one and swap it out with thermaltake fans
The Arctic Liquid Freezer III is here and its supposed to be even better than the Liquid Freezer II. But when it comes to the Liquid Freezer III vs Liquid Freezer II is there really enough to many upgrading necessary to get the best CPU cooling? @sacred wren @knotty sparrow more comprehensive source than GN here. Also side note the Frozen Edge makes an appearance and is fantastic for both AMD and Intel
In some scenarios yeah
But LF3 is "the goat" from reviewers as it just does excellent under noise normalised
As far as brute force you have the Galcier one V2 T30* and the Ryujin III ($500 freaking dollars) over it
But yes, we can basically now recommend Edge for everything and LF3 for silent versions of everything
LF3 price is nice too

FINALLY
The excitement is understandable, it's been the topic of the day here
$108 for an ARGB 360mm is just
Hell yeah
My only concern for the near future is coldplate consistency
The offset mount is a bit questionable too
Wayyyy low

does it have to be offset
no
