Haha cheap psu on expensive components haha
No
Don’t get a cheap one
Get maybe Corsair RM, RMx, that kinda thing
Look in the pins of this channel. There’s a power supply tier list. Shoot for tier A. Tier B+ is bare minimum for this system
that mwe is like 100 or something
and you get more issues with a cheap psu
leave me and my tt smart alone >:((
can anyone recommend me a 650 wat gold psu
welp help... i am kind overwhelmed over pc cases
i am looking for one to replace TT 37 view.
i like black interior and white exterior.
more likely middle size to carry around.
well thats the on i was going to get but its out of stock
What’s the best case for ATX mobo psu shroud and 240mm aio
I’ve decided on getting the lian li lancool 2 mesh in white for my upcoming build
Looks so clean
Be quiet pure base 500DX >>

any thoughts/experience with this rosewill atx mid tower? - https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811147301?Item=N82E16811147301
Lol I have been eyeing that for a while. Have yet to use it
But here's what I'd pick instead:
or
yeah i looked at that one, but it was hard to tell how the airflow was
it's mesh
This second one looks to have rough cable management, but dang good price for what it is
yeah
i'm looking for something with at least a couple of front fans, a rear fan, and support for a 240mm aio along the top
which is why the rosewill one initially caught my eye
especially since i was thinking of a blue theme anyway
but i like the other ones too
and rgb is always a bonus in case i change my mind later
well the rosewill has them blue fans, and a mesh front, so if you want it, go for it
ohhh the sama case is tricksy
the fans are hard locked to rainbow rgb
not addressable
oh dang
I'm a bit late but that Rosewill seems decent airflow wise. Plus 4 fans so... nice
yeah, 4 included fans is pretty nice
and i'll be putting rgb onto the aio i have, and just setting them to blue more than likely
so i think the rosewill case might work
i'm finally getting a pack of cable ties as well
At 55 bucks it seem like a steal
sips water bottle
i had a similar one
a 240mm rad didnt fit on top despite advertisements
i had to switch to a 120mm
I think I'll uhh
Buy a Pure Power 11 500w
B&H isn't getting new System Power U9s, and I can get the 500w one for cheaper than the CX 650 that is in stock on Newegg
They're getting new Pure Power 11s in 7-10 business days or so they say
Got a 500w 80+ white... which isn’t high quality of any means, but it’s Thermaltake... would it still be decent?
how large is ur graphics card in mm
what i'm seeing that case can fit up to a 260mm card
pretty sure the card is 290mm then
don't think it will fit
theres probably a way that you'll be able to fit it but i'm not an expert
dang gotta keep looking then
I dont want to have to shave anything or do anything to the case
looking for a gpu or case?
case
you want it to be micro atx or
if possible yeah easier to move
i'll see what i can find
you the man
any specific color you want the case to be so i can narrow it down?
fractal design 7 looks very nice
so much attention to detail
i love the little clip for the rear exhaust fan so the cable doesnt go anywhere
the removable modular pieces in the PSU shroud are nice instead of leaving a hole or just not having the option
rubber grommets look nice, wish there was a vertical gpu mount built it
in*
Fractal really does seem to put a lot of thought into their designs. I need to try one someday.
Their high end cases for look neat
Damn yeah it’s TT smart
Just need it for a Ryzen 3 3100 and a 5500 xt, but I’ll be able to upgrade it soon
Never mind, just gonna buy a new PSU that’s at least bronze rated
i have a 500W power supply and a 1660 super but i want to upgrade to at least a 2070 super. should i stick with my 500w psu or which one should i get?
What cpu?
@bronze raven 500 should be fine
Most systems with those specs usually draw around 400 watts of power in total so you good
oh ok
thanks
but what about if i wanna upgrade to a 2080 super
then upgrade the psu?
Yeah probably
Not that steep
Depends on the psu, but nah not too steep
depends on what your powering
If you got a system that requires that kinda psu then you'll most likely have a case that has a psu shroud so your not gonna see it anyway.
Just get a rmx and some cable extensions tbh
https://www.newegg.com/black-antec-performance-series-atx-mid-tower/p/N82E16811129257
I found this case and it looks great to me, what do you guys think?
Antec's P120 Crystal shares some looks with the Lian Li O11 Dynamic, but also has some significant changes to differentiate itself. We bought the Antec P120 Crystal for review.

Take a look at this review. He does very through reviews with themals and the like
ty
how bad is the nzxt h710i
Not everything needs a highly perforated front panel. Most that do well, though, still have a mesh panel somewhere. NZXT wants to prove that isn't necessary if using enough fans.

🙂
Same one as the h710i except this version doesn't have the fancy rgb
lol but rgb is great
Well yh, but this review is basically a review of the same case
So you can see how good/bad it is
Tier B • Recommended for low-end systems with dGPU* R.I.P
Im using an rx570... But I mean At this point I can't complain about the performance. I JUST got my computer built, Yesterday.
It is wonders of performance/quality
Anyone wanna buy an 80+ white PSU? lol
no
Im probably just gonna keep it as a backup in case my newer PSU ends up dying
Realistically speaking, how much wattage do I need for a system running a Ryzen 5 3600, Sapphire 5600xt?
prob 500
Should I just go for 600 then if I plan on adding a AIO?
AIOs draw like 10w of power lol
good PSU
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W6S2ZJP
cause i was thinking that.
Hello
I like amp better for the price
If I order the Phanteks Eclipse P400S, is it possible to deliver to Morocco?
from Newegg?
What does AMP do?
Newegg.com ships to U.S. customers in the United States, as well as Puerto Rico and APO/FPO/DPO addresses. Please see here for a list of all international countries we ship to.
doesn't look like you can ship directly to morocco
Thank you for your reply
You're welcome
There's a uk site isn't there? They might?
I am tryin to build a system with approx 3334 Watts. I chose a 650W PSU and added to my PCpartpicker list. But its show the below message in the compatibility notes:
"Compatibility Notes
Note:The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it."
Should i go with the 650 W or 750W?
Thanks
Ignore it
thats what i thought at first. thanks tho
Extra stuff that arnt required are extra.
yup
another thing. which one should i go for : Seasonic focus 650 gold or corsair RM650x gold??
I'd just save money and get this:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Y3bCmG/phanteks-amp-550-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ph-p550g_us01
Unless you have a 3950x+2080Ti and plan to OC then you wont need more then 550w
Is the nr400 a solid case? Or is there a better case around 60-70 (i dont mind atx, but i plan on having a matx mobo)
can someone ping me if they know where to buy cheap case around $60 that comes with silent fans and is actually legit ?
Focus g
i just wish the focus g had a psu shroud
eh, other cases in that price range have them, just a nice to have that's all
h510 elite or a meshify c? and why?
@upper zinc meshify c because it’s easier to build in and has far better aircooling than the h51p
*h510
But if you don’t really care about aircooling and are planning to watercool most components and the h510 looks better
h510 doesn’t really have great water cooling support
lmao the h510 also doesnt have good air flow
no matter what even if liquid cooled you still need fans in it to cool the rads also its $100+ for me lmao
it doesnt bring in much air flow my dude
yeah so dont bring a high end system in there
if you're going to be running a 3600 with a 2060 super
youll be fine
the case airflow is enough for it
lmao now nessesarily
?
not*
the H510 with 4 case fans kept a 3600 and 2070 super under 70 degrees under load
no clue what youre on about
lmao thats still hot
lmao
lol you have nothing to back up your bias against nzxt
lmao bias against tf you talking about i was just saying it has bad air flow but okay buddy
lmao noe of the nzxt cases have good air flow
and i was arguing that it was enough for mid range systems?
and all youve said to that is lmao
lol
thats a new one
i had the gigabyte super variant running in there
granted, i did have the max amount of fans it could hold
thing is, no case will beat it in terms of looks in that price range
lmao probably spent more on fans than the case was
If you want a case that looks cool and has great airflow I would recommend either the TD500 or the Lancool II mesh
i paid 15$ for 2 fans tyvm :))
what fans you getting for 15 bucks
but i kept 1
They must be loud af
I’m guessing either 80mil or 120 mil
120
lmao
Damn
those are some chinese brand oof
That’s the same price as 1 no tuna
nah uphere is reliable
at least you didnt get the nzxt fans for the nzxt case lmao its like $40 for one fan
i see so much hate on the NZXT lineup cuz of airflow, but no other case manufacturer makes nice/clean cases like that imo
Yeah
its like corsair
id be getting the H510Elite with a kraken x63 cooler
@upper zinc for matx, check out darkflash
darkflash are nzxt cases with mesh sometimes
me oer here waiting until next year when i can afford to build a setup that costs as much as a lot of people make in like 6 months
bruh
yeah, im rocking a phantom 410 with a 4770k lol so i want a nice clean looking pc
i mean the money thts paying for it is from a law suit and its money that i havent had to use for 9 years mays well use it when its put into y personal account
like im reading people who have the h510 elite are happy with the case. but reviews online from people who dont have it say the thermals suck based on a video
unless you're going extreme high end, past the 1500$ mark, it seems fine
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/EnglandPJ/favorites/
Under cases is what im looking at
my budgets 2k for the build, 3700x, x63, 2070 super, 32gb ram
roughly yeah
tbh i like how the nzxt cases look and there build quality is decent but the air flow in them sucks but all the cases with great airflow are ugly af but like anyway i have a budget of ike 5k for just the pc its self when i get the money in my name so most likely ill be getting a 3080 ti when its out and probably a 4000 series ryzen 9
@hollow trail then u can afford a really expensive case :p
ideally im waiting too for the next gen cpus and gpus too
i was talking about people with under 80$ to spend for the case
lol the case i plan on getting is like 250$cad
lol the h710i lets hope it lets the 3080 breathe
Reason: Bad word usage
woops 😢
shame on you
i meant to say
england is my city
i asked the ppl on bapc and they pooped on me for wanting rgb ram and the h510elite lol
whats your budget
they only care about perf
2500cad (with a monitor)
i'd personally sacrifice 10 degrees of temps for a blean case
oof year ill brb i can help you there given that im from canada as well lol what would you like to play and what colour scheme are you wanting
yeah, for something thats gonna sit on my desk for 5ish years i want something that looks nice
Black and white preferably, gpu and cpu can be jusst filler for now, im waiting for next gen
i'd personally sacrifice 10 degrees of temps for a blean case
Yeah, to a point... not gonna buy that one case where there are fans mounted against a solid side panel tho lol
^ yeah lol
what games and things are you wanting to do with it lmao
Oh, light games (tomb raider, fifa, forza etc). and heavy workstation (adobe suite, fl studio, pro tools)
aight
So ryzen
Tomb raider ain’t a light game lmao
lmao lighter than rdr2
im thinking a 2070 and a ryzen 7 given that i have like 1800 to work with for the pc its self
1800 cad
@upper zinc I would save yourself $30 and get the MP34. Slightly slightly worse r/w, but not much
And $30 to put elsewhere
wait is that gun? LOL
wait nvm, canada prices for mp34 are wack
whats a decent ssd tho for a reasonable amount it doesnt have to be very big like 500g should be fine with a 2tb hdd
well i was told the ADATA is amazing specs. has DRAM and is comparable to the evo pro
hows the mx500
Yeah, it's a solid choice if you can't get the mp34 for $134
MX500 is sata, much slower
But it isn't the ADATA that makes it good
its 150 for 1tb lmao the samsung is 100 for 500gb
IK, but don't buy for the brand, buy for the specs 🙂
Like not all ADATA drives are good, get the cheapest one with the specs you want/need 🙂
imma just stick with the mx500 given that its cheaper technically
How much are you paying? Or do you already have it
lmao this is that other dudes lmao
he said his budget was 2500cad including monitor lmao
oh ur speccing out a pc for me lol
yeah lmao you should see the psu tho its over kill
LOL, why?
because im bored
and like its 850w
for a system that only need like 600max
i changed the psu lmao
hmmm lmao https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/66y37T
$140 is too much for that drive imo
Solid build, i think the 3 cases im torn between are the: h510elite, meshify c, and the Corsair iCUE 465X (in that order)
I'd just spend the $20 to get a better drive or go with a better value sata
My friend raised a good point, he said i should just pick the nicest out of the cases. The 5deg difference between the meshify and h510 is gonna be negligible
lol the case has great airflow tho lmao
pretty doesnt always mean it will let your hardware last 5+ years lmao
yeah, just not a big fan of the phanteks p300/p400 cases
neither a i dont get me wrong lmao it just has great air flow lmao
Wait, that monitor is overpriced
yeah i know, that seems to be the tradeoff with a lot of the cases i find online. airflow vs aesthetic, i feel like the meshify is a good balance
how?
200 usd is a lot more cad than youd think
268cad
shhhhhh
😂😂
dont tell him
That has a 1ms ips 1440p for less
oh i dont even need a hdd luckily, bringing my 2 1tbs over from my current build
Also, im an absolute noob. whats the diff between b450 and b550?
lmao generations
b550 is newer and supports pcie 4.0, not really needed unless you need the very fastest (and pricey) ssds
what uses pcie4.0?
some gpus and nvme drives
will next gen gpu's tho?
crucial p1 tho? also, he already has hhd
but i suggest you wait for ampere
ok
get rid of hdd
crucial p1 is good
and cheaper than the one he got
Sweet, thanks guys 🙂 theres sooo many options out there 😂😂
^
the ram tho lmao he has 2500cad to spend on the pc and the monitor just bring it down to 2.2k cad to leae room for next gen prices
Well if he wants to wait, prices will change and this list will be obsolete
yeah, gpu and cpus will change im pretty sure. but cases, ssds etc i wanted to spec out prices
lmao ive looked at these prices almost everyday for the past 16 months they dont change very much
@eager monolith 32 gb is overkill unless hes doing editing
so this has given me a solid feeling for what i can buy with that price range
@dull steeple i will be with Adobe
@eager monolith 32 gb is overkill unless hes doing editing
@dull steeple He said he is doing workstation stuff and adobe
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/hXZvXv This if you can go over b/c I forgot cooler
the problem i have tho is the mobo and the case and why two different kinds of fans for the added fans lmao
What is wrong with the mobo? And last round I removed the extra fan 🙂
i gotta head out, but ill probably rejoin later 🙂 if anyone wants to kill time and spec out more stuff, just tag me or msg me! Thanks a lot guys for the help 😄
👍
do you think the guy can do a bios update tho lmao
nice pfp
That warning shows up on almost every AMD build tho. If it is an issue, some stores offer free serives for that
memory express does
ia head there to buy everything tbh
for 120$ i can have them build the whole thing for me as wel
Only 1
thats the back one?
Oh wait
Wrong case
That comes with 3 @little pewter
The 50$ mx330-g comes with 1
Does any one of any good looking cases for under $100
nzxt h510 :))
Yea I have been looking at that one but it seems like there is not that much space once every thing is in there
I ha e been looking at some phantek cases
h510 looks so good tho
it may look good but its thermals and performance is very bad and terribly optimized
im a person that would sacrifice thermals for looks
soo
:))
as long as its not completely shut, i can live with it
any one have a corsair crystal 280x?
Anyone familiar with CableMod? Wondering what the difference is between the ModMesh and ModFlex, if anyone has actually had hands on experience with the two..
Nvm, found the answer I was looking for.
Cooler Master MasterBox MCB-B320L-KGNN-S02 Micro-ATX with Dual ARGB Fans, DarkMirror Front Panel, Mesh Front Intake Vents, and Tempered Glass Side Panel
Will this case fit a cx750m psu no problem?
I need help finding a good cheap case for m-atx with good airflow
Probs like 100 - 170 aud
Ok wow 😯
Get the dark flash case for 60$ get the mesh versions and get some fans
@abstract crescent
ok
Mb311L tho
Milk cartons provide the best airflow ngl
Anyone have any recommendations for a 750w psu
Thanks
What PSU wattage would be recommended for somebody who's planning to run a Ryzen 3600/2060 Super build with five case fans?
600w would be pretty optimal
Gold/bronze 600w-650 would be the best
anyone know when will lianli lancool 2 mesh drop on newegg. was told by lianli its on aug 7th
i need a good psu but something that’s not $100+
i don’t want to buy one that will die in 2weeks and waste money but i also don’t want a jank chinese one
anyone have recommendations? @ me please
alright, thank you
So, I've got an upcoming trip for work, and I wanna take my PC with me. The problem is, I'd rather not travel with a glass case, especially one as heavy as mine. Does anyone know of any good, lightweight cases that support an ATX motherboard?
Look at Corsair or phanteks
Yeah, I've looked around but I'm not too familiar with either brands, since I've never used any of their products. Figured some recommendations might help me a bit
yeah something like the 270r should be lighter cause it doesnt have a glass side panel
Yeah
or if u want really light and small u could get a cerberus x
Does it support ATX?
Yeah, I just checked it out
Safe to say, that's not an option
I was looking at Thermaltakes Versa H22, which looks like it might do the job for now
yea that looks like it should be good
Then get it as long as it does what you need it to
Yeah, I think I will. Thanks for the recommendations tho! Once I have a bit more money, I may look into getting something like a 270r to use as a more permanent solution. I dunno what I was thinking, buying such a heavy, glass case. I move my PC from place to place pretty regularly, so it was a silly decision
Fractal as well
Best looking case under 60?
That's a lot of personal preference
Uhh
Mb311L or Dark flash dlm21 mesh @willow hollow
DLM21 mesh DLM21 mesh
atx?
DIYPC Rainbow-flash-V3 is good
Fractal Design. 1 x 140 mm FDB Bearing Fractal Design Dynamic Series fan. FULLY MODULAR DESIGN. Ion+ is available now in 560, 660, 760 and 860-watt capacities, all with 80 PLUS® Platinum Efficiency, 10-year warranty, and a full electrical protection suite for your peace of mind.
Is this worth the price?
I'm gonna go with no
I mean it's A tier
It's also ebay
I think it’s worth
minecraft server
im in the wrong chat i just realized
why did it default to this chat
Wack
I had no idea fractal made PSUs til just now
Hi there. Does anyone know a good silent power supply adapter for the above picopsu?
this case is usually 240 but down to 90. gonna use it in my build and will send pictures soon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDFYW3N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_l4fkFbG8W3B8N
Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
hows this psu
Pretty good
pretty decent, tho I'd rather go multi rail at that wattage
I have a 1200w single 12v rail
i want an rmi but no stock
rmi is usually overpriced anyways
i've noticed it's absurdly priced anywhere other than corsair.
given Bitfenix Whisper M was like RMx prices, RMi is kinda out of the question most of the time (before Human Malware)
stupid human malware blew my build plans straight to heck
i wouldn't normally go for the i series, but this specific build is an icue case, and basically a full corsair build.
I need some help fast
If there is a 18 pin and a 10 pin connector on my psu which one do I plug in?
Or do I plug in both?
i have a corsair carbide 275r can i switch the front panel for the one on the airflow model?
anyone know any good case for airflow and cable management
Td500mesh from cooler master
are u sure
yes
H500 from cooler master too
probably a few hundred of them
if u were to chose which one
Td500
which one would u go for
Very good value
is Lian Li O11 Dynamic good?
Ya, its pretty good assuming you buy additional fans
its better to go for the td500
Td500 is better value imo
Is evga 550w good for a begging pc ?
lot of 550w EVGA PSUs, some of which suck a lot
Looking for a case and psu to support a 750w PSU, with a decent USB/audio panel and room for expansion
td 500 mesh @faint hound
@surreal magnet do you know any 650 watts gold or higher fully modular psu
sry for ping
but i didn't want to talk in #cpus-mobo-and-memory
thxs
it’s a nice case but a little too much for my taste
^What he said
yeah i heard the same thing from a lot of ppl i might find another one from nzxt maybe
i personally don’t like any nzxt cases i’d just go for like a td 500 mesh, has good airflow and comes w 3 rgb fans if you’re into that
supports up to a 360mm rad too
what about some meshify cases?
i planned on getting a meshify c they’re pretty nice but i did some research on the td500 mesh and just went with that
both have very good airflow
yeah ik what u mean what cpu cooler do u have out of curiosity
right now just my stock one for my amd fx 6300, for my build i’m working on i’m deciding between a dark rock pro or a arctic liquid freezer
what do you usually work with best water cooler or air coolers? id just go off that tbh and overall quality of the products
O11 = great looking if you invest more into fans
@quaint girder if you want quality of product, Noctua ftw
this psu is 10 buck more than the rmx corsair one https://www.newegg.ca/fractal-design-fd-psu-ion-sfx-650g-bk-650w/p/N82E16817580026?Description=Ion SFX-L 650W Gold&cm_re=Ion_SFX-L 650W Gold-_-17-580-026-_-Product should i get this
air coolers are relatively easy to install and cheap for the most part compared to most liquid coolers but the arctic liquid freezer is kind of making me want to go liquid
@vocal tartan Arctic freezer 2 is better cooling if it's in stock
i do have a rlly high budget since i rlly don't want to replace anything anytime soon and ppl tell me to wait for new gpus and cpus cuz of that
you should try it at least once @vocal tartan
Tbh the only competitors I consider at 100$ for cooling is D15, DRP4, and Freezer II
If you don't like bulky things in your build, freezer II
If you don't want water in your build, d15/drp4
btw what ram is considered average in ddr4 not being too fast or slow?
3200cl16 is the middle ground, average ram. 3600cl16 is good ram.
i’ll probably end up going w the arctic because i want it to look nice still and the price is very good, was gonna spend like 90 on an air cooler anyway
I love Noctua for quiet good performance and warranty and free mounting bracket upgrades :D
what about be quiet dark pro 4
d15 seemed nice but it’s huge
thx it's good to know and i can never find latencies lower than 16 on 3600mhz but only on 3200 i went and checked on some ram earlier today
dark rock pro 4*
Drp4 is actually like the same size as d15
It looks so much smaller right
But d15 is 165mm tall, drp4 163mm iirc
They're actually like the same height
i had no idea i thought the d15 was way bigger
what would be some specs for ur guys' dream pc?
According to Newegg specs at least, which are quite accurate in my experience
titan rtx
good thing my case supports up to a 165mm cpu cooler if i end up going air
and threadripper
Prob 10900k 2080ti with H150i in a td500 mesh
dual titans
Or Arctic freezer ii 360mm
@vocal tartan that's the reason why td500 mesh is superior to p400a
P400a can only support 155mm
Drp4 d15 d15s all out of the window
Screw that
yeah lmao
id probably go with 10900k / amd ryzen 9 3900xt, asus 2080ti rog strix oc (white) nzxt kraken z73, and dunno about the case
faxxx
yeah i’m still kinda iffy about it
imagine if it got onto the heatsink of ur gpu rip❌
will probably run stock cooler for a while till i decide
It's like a 0.1% chance I know that
Most AIOs don't die
And don't leak
But just that thought
yeah we're passed that stage by now
my luck is awful lmao
mine is average lol
Nothing can go wrong with an air cooler really
My luck depends on what I'm doing
Sometimes it's great sometimes it's bad
only it dying out on you is the only issue
my air cooler is 3 years strong in a terrible airflow system somehow
it’s still kicking
was a used stock cooler
damn that's what i call persistant
gets quite loud but noise doesn’t bother me
yeah i can't with noise i barely have to hear it cuz little things tend to annoy me
My dream PC: dual socket epyc and a set of teslas
my dream pc, used dell optiplex with a 2080 ti 🤩
Weird flex but okay
wonder what the 3000 series of gpus are gonna be like
If the A100 is any indication, very nice
arent those things hella expensive $$$
yeah i shouldn't be surprised it's demanding for its purpose and it's a crazy gpu
who knows there psu's
i have got a evga supernova 850 g2 for £110 brand new
on amazon there like £250
Bro the coolermaster mb311l is supposed to be like 69 dollars
But in amazon its 169
yeah probably a 3rd party listing that either sold or got pulled
so it fell back to another supplier
Hey, whats the best monitor for under $350 that's 1440 and adjustable to 144 hz?
a family member said they might help me pay for half of a better monitor, so i'm looking at the Viewsonic Elite serise
aoc ag241qx is a great 1440p 144hz monitor. theres a 24 and a 27 inch version and both are great. i got one for like $250 on ebay
if youre willing to buy used
Sorry I was in the wrong section when I posted !
ASRock B550M Steel Legend Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard is what I'm buying
getting a deal on it.
I'm looking to figure out why it says this on PcPartPicker
Hmm. on the site " Note:The ASRock B550M Steel Legend Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Thermaltake Toughpower DPS G RGB Gold 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.
I'm looking for a PSU similar t o that but with the additional connector that it's asking for
the newer B550 boards, along with some of the other higher end X570 etc, have 24pin plus 8 pin, plus another 4 pin
the extra 4 pin is primarily just if you're going to be doing any heavy overlocking
so the board can provide extra power if needed
but if you're just going to run at stock speeds, you don't need to connect that extra power
just the basic 24pin and 8 pin
But it doesn't have to be overclocked, if it has the pin installed?
it's overclock CAPABLE not overclocked?
basically, and you can probably still do light overclocking without needing the extra power connected
but if you want to go crazy
you'll need that extra 4 pin
is what I have right now, just looking for a PSU for it that fits all of the needs it wants
it's what someone is building for me rather
also an optical drive blu ray reader, probably just a Pioneer
when you go into pick a PSU, you can check a filter along the left hand side for '2x EPS 8-pin' and it will show you PSU's that will have the extra connector if you really want to have it available
Thanks Chauntalei!
yikes they're all like 800s.
They'll probably have more affordable 600s in the future.
there's a seasonic focus 550W that's like $99
oh you mean this one "2 x EPS 8-pin + 1 x ATX 4-pin"
no, just 2x EPS 8-pin
the extra 4 pin it's asking for is half of a normal EPS 8 pin
ah!
so you'd have the normal 24 pin for motherboard power, one EPS 8 pin for the CPU, and another 4 pin EPS for the extra CPU juice
scores high on the LTT tier list
that one is also good, the toughpower grand gold's are in the A tier list

@faint hound just get an x570 mb
And I have to ask but are you getting that m.2
There are plenty for cheaper around the same performance I believe
But why
im getting it from a guy who can get me the parts without tax
X570s are better
Yeah ig at that point
this isnt a "want vs need" kinda thing
This is an 8 year old PC and I want not only to buy the product but to help out the guy who's building it for me, too.
Well
Then get an m.2 that is pcie 4.0
Since it has to last you almost a decade
Money doesn't seem tight so I'd go for it since you can utilize it with b550
it is. I get $600 a MONTH. I just sold a bike, and returned a b450 and a ryzen 7 3600x
I'm keeping the RAM though.
I'm paying in Paypal -- he accepts it!
I have an old beat up corsair 400r, i'm running on 500w, I have a 970strix.
it's all old, and I want some new stuff.
Intel i5 3570k
ASUS P87ZZV-Pro
I don't want ULTRA expensive
Yeah longevity and expandability
I plan on getting an RDNA2, in the future.
I also need to pick up a Gsync Monitor
So just get a weak sauce gpu until rdna2
No need to spend so much on last gen
You won't get your money back
i'm getting it for less than it sells at stores. i'm saving tax and CA recycle fee.
I need to run 1440 at 144 FPS on an IPA panel. I have epilepsy and this old VA panel is killing my eyes
Ya but the money you save now buying that 2080 in comparison to saving the money of buying a weaker card just makes sense cause you'll most likely end up saving more money since you're on a tight budget
And it's only for like another 2 months
Well worth the wait
im not getting a first gen rdna though
im gonna wait until the newer ones come out. when they improve on the tech.
You don't have to
RDNA2 i mean
Just get a cheaper Nvidia
2060 super is the lowest i'm willing to go, but i'd prefer the 2070, A family member said she'd go in for half of the computer monitor
And why get a super expensive G-sync when you're getting rdna2 in a couple of months
What are you running that needs so much power Lmao
I plan on doing vid editing, gaming, I don't need this, but I want it. especially with the prices i'm saving on parts.
I'm saving at least 400
You'll end up saving more money all around than just immediately buying since the parts you're buying rn are gonna be useless in the coming months
No one's gonna wanna buy a 2080s for $500 if next gen can compete with it for the same price
You'd already lose like $300 right there
And G-sync compatibility monitor is useless after you get rdna2
4k is something to worry ab later tbh
I'm just suggesting this since money isn't the best
HP Omen 27i 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Monitor
it's GSYNC "capable"
So it's 300 less
With the saved money you could always spend it on something else later if you change your mind
Wym $300 less?
Okay ya you're saving money
Yep
and someones gonna help me pay for half of it anyway
so i'm saving even more
I'm probably paying about 1400 for an 1800 dollar PC.
and im okay with that.
But that doesn't make it a good deal if the G-sync compatible monitor is gonna be useless
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_qJ8kFbAPTX7Q8
And look
A steal
And idk where you pulling these numbers from
That pcpp list is $1400 so how is it suddenly $1800
If i put everything i wanted in there it would be 1800. i'm making slight modifications to a PCPartpicker build.
I'm getting a 5.25 for Blu rays and game installations, since I do want to own games and not JUST cloud gaming or links t o download the games
I was thinking about getting a tower with a 2nd 5.25 bay for a USB-C but the 550 comes with it. \
I'm not getting RGB so im saving on that.
If the stuff you're suggesting cost as much as the stuff I am, would you use it?
That $400 youre saving doesn't mean much when you're buying a $700 card and probably won't make more than $400 back from it
So you're losing $300 at most tbh right there
And that monitor I linked is cheaper with the same specs
And a better stand
The monitor has to be blue light resistant and flicker free with a 144hz or more adjustable panel.
Epilepsy
the 2070s are $399 right now.
I might be thinking of the 2060s
getting a super. again, just for expandability
yep just doublechecked!
it's 1808 😛
But i'm getting fans for cheap.
Oh I already own some of it
oen sec
You do you buddy

Hey guys, curious if anyone might be able to help me identify a plugin end/connector.
The cord type is a e67647_T AWM 20276 and below is a picture of the connector.
This power cord is connected to a bar that holds 7 PC Case-style fans and is used for drying ink as something is coming out of the printer. There is a direct plugin on the printer to power this deice but I am hoping to find an external power source so that it doesn't rely on the printer for power.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Plugin end/Connector
thats a 6 pin din cable @night orchid
lol
Or that
that plug almost looks like a proprietary din connector though, it's not the normal 6 pin layout
but the 6-pin din cables are also fairly regularely used for (very) custom setups
normal 6 pin din looks like an arrow almost, symmetric pins
aye, "normal"
It looks like there are notches that wouldn't line up with the midi though
yeah, you said the custom part while i was typing my other thing up lol
definitely a custom 6 pin
aye, to prevent it from frying the living heck out of a standard midi connector @fickle herald
well that just ruins all the fun
https://www.lorextechnology.com/images/products/CVA6933R/180x120/Accessories-CVA6933R-M1.png <- that is a example of a "weird" one :)
Hey guys thanks for the replies reading up on em now
I was afraid that was going to be the case. Based on the type of cord, is there any way to wire this up to a wall plugin of some sort
Looks like simple case fans
If wired a cpu fan to a wall plug before
Lol but how could I do that to a power cord that is connected to 7 fans
I mean I know how to splice wires just don't want to cut it unless I'm confident it would be worth it
@night orchid u wont get the max performance of the fun
get something like a step up converter
it gets 5v and steps it up to 12v
Is the coolermaster mb311l a good case?
Its, pretty good. Only thing that I don't like about it is the pcie bracket pieces in the back cannot be reattached after you take them out. But otherwise, its rly good value
Is the separate audio and mic ports also an issue?
Wdym?
If your talking about the front io connectors, I dont see how that could be an issue
Idk I'm just thinking of any problem I might have with my first build
what type of power supply do i need
@static rapids there are several PSU utilities, one on Newegg to get a general idea of what your power needs are. After that look at PSU list pinned to this channel. Good hunting
I am trying to track down a Seasonic Connect Prime unit and have been coming up with goose eggs. Looking for some advice on where to find one. I even reached out to Seasonic an they are saying maybe November.
@static rapids for what CPU + GPU and for what budget?
what 750w modular psu would you recommend?
im trying to mount a dual slot card into my corsair 680x vertically
what adapters do i need/cables?
@woven breach look in your manual
kk
what 750w modular psu would you recommend?
@woven breach Budget? Specs of other parts?
Aight. Check the pins for the PSU tier list. Get an A class for that kind of hardware
Single Rail/Multiple Rail likely doesn't matter for you

Is the sea sonic S12III 650W 80+ bronze a bad psu?
It's decent
Yep. Good for mid range systems. 1660 super is highest I’d put on it
I mean, that goes for any S12III in general, not just the 650w if you know what I mean
eh, if it's S/M12III 500w and lower, it's group regulated. 12III 550w/650w is the only DC-DC
all 12I and 12II are GR
what "size" backup battery / surge protector should i get if i have a 750W psu?
i was looking a this one but idk if its enough https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpower-950va-battery-back-up-system-black/6239407.p?skuId=6239407
I just put on something that has a large enough battery to give me 3 mins to save work and have it auto shutdown
amazon rly do be delievering like 7 packages in a span of 12 hours
you could, but it isn't the best idea imo
a better choice would be corsair CX, Cooler Master MWE (V2 if it's bronze) Antec Neo Eco Gold
any of those
500w or better
NE Zen too
👌
Ok I know this is a very stupid question can i get a mount that would slide into the pci plate covers on the case and mount my gpu vertical but the slots and not
I'm not sure if that would work
Hang on sorry
Can u mount a gpu vertical in a silver stone rlo5 case?
I AM NOT cutting my case
@icy cape It looks like it doesn't
I like that case to😢
Nzxt has a case that I like but I will have to check that one out more
The nzxt h510?
I want the red gaming one h510i
But I don't think I can
H510i Phantom Gaming Special Edition
That is the one
Know that the airflow is really bad
I guess I will go with the rlo5 and suck it up and be sad
I wanted to show case it vertically but whatever
They say that a vertical mount decreases performance, so there's that
Best 600w gold+ cert PSU?
Don't just buy based on gold cert... what are your specs and budget?
@faint hound and I'm pretty sure you don't want the best of the best, which would be like 400$, what's your budget?
$125
Probably thinking a thermaltake
I need help in ordering a LED fan blue light to replace . the case is pictured on this link. One of the fans went out and my local shop replaced it with just a plain fan. I want to order an led blue light fan so it matches the other one.

Li Mini-Computer Case PC-V354B
@honest forge You will likely have to contact the manufacture if you cant find the model listed anywhere. Consider buying a matching set of different fans if it becomes to much of a hassle
Lian li is a higher end product so you should check their website
Thanks, think I will just buy a pair so they match.
@honest forge A quick google of their website found me this. You can likely order one from them
Empower you to the next RGB lighting level and cooling solution
How can I hide/remove tiny scratches on a pc case?
depends on material
matte black paint
IF you have a marker that "fits" that colour when it dries. then that is one way
another is figurine paint (think warhammer figurines)
alrighty thanks
yet another is nail polish
I'm wanting to build a computer with a ton of blu ray drives specifically to rip my massive blu ray collection for a home theater. Is there a good case option for this?
Use USB drives
built in 5.25in drive cages are really rare in modern cases
Sometimes you can find a case with one, but those are hard to find and usually low quality
My old case could hold 5
Hum so I’m herring a small little mouse cry from my psu it’s quiet faint but was wondering if that was Normal
Normal
Is it a CXm?
It might be coil whine, which is annoying but doesn't do damage to anything
No it’s a cooler master mwe
Don't think there are common coil whine issues on that, but is it just a high pitched noise?
Yeah very faint
I just built the pc today
I was just wondering because I wasn’t sure if I did something wrong, it’s my first solo build
And first time I here the sound
High pitch but faint
cases around $50-$90 with fans installed pls
^
?
No
ok ty
Wdym by blocked
Like on the h510 I would assume
like both sides of the fan, exhaust and smth, blocked so like no airflow
Td500 mesh had great airflow
Yup

best 850w psu? im building a new pc soon and i dont want a loud psu or one thats gonna blow up
best 850w psu? im building a new pc soon and i dont want a loud psu or one thats gonna blow up
Corsair RM, RMx. HX, HXi are good options, off the top of my head
@random peak try the rmx 850
but most likey you don't need 850watts
unless your going with a 10900k an 2080ti
any ATX PC cases under $35? just gimme something cheap and not too hideous please
