This is a very good tip here, it's easy to forget on some of the earlier or most of the cost-reduced models of motherboards with 3xx and 4xx series chip-sets, that they don't have a BIOS chip big enough to hold all the different CPU's micro-code and board features at once.
One must pick and choose!

If you find a steal of a deal on something in the class of product you want, and you know it will work (e.g. it'll fit where it goes and the thing it hooks to will be OK sharing a case* with it) you sometimes have to really jump on those deals, especially more-so now that there actually IS a reason to upgrade PC hardware.
*Bad bed-fellows occurences with PC parts is NOT fun. Make sure there's no hard incompatibilities by keeping up to date on your favorite tech sites or 'tubers.

There could be a fix for one class of processor that broke or hurt performance on another class of processor. These things happen, even to ASUS / Gigabyte who are generally the best in the consumer space. This is much more common in server space though where there often are custom-tailored BIOSes.

@north widget at 200$ you're firmly entering X570 territory. Choose either a modestly-featured X570, or a decently-loaded-up B550 depending on your needs from a PC years down the road. You can easily find an Asus X570 Tuf Gaming Wifi Plus for 180~200$ even in a brick and mortar store (I happened to get mine at brick-and-mortar store after my ASRock blew up and I must say I'm impressed!).

@north widget yes BIOS FLASHBACK feature is a name given to a like-class of features, where motherboards have a special micro-chip in them that allows them to flash BIOS without having a CPU installed in the board, or without a supported CPU installed. Not just ASUS has this feature, but on ASUS boards it's most common. When you get into the 200$ and up range, you'll start seeing more of it (that does NOT preclude it from being on 150~200$ boards though!).

I have the TUF X570 Gaming Plus Wifi, if I murder the BIOS I just go down to the next town and buy another šŸ™‚ I can afford to replace it at the drop of a hat though (though my health sometimes means I can't drive all the time, so have to plan around that). For folks who cannot or would rather not be bothered with replacing their board due to BIOS snafu (issues), then BIOS FLASHBACK feature is great. It's primary purpose is to be able to avoid an RMA or customer service claim due to purchasing the board with a CPU that is newer than (and hence unsupported by) the motherboard, later in the life cycle of the chip-set/board.

They had two MSI boards and one Asus, got the Asus Tuf Gaming Wifi Plus board, paid the 200$ plus tax (could have price matched but I figured 'they earned it!' for having it in stock that day), walked out and fired it up when I got home and sure enough, it's a great board.
For the record, the Knoxville Best Buys generally stock the Asus Tuf X570, MSI MPG x570 (avoid, hot, cheap 100c VRM's), and the MSI B550 (forgot which model, isn't as bad as the x570 msi model though).

Revisional changes are common over the last 15 years on motherboards who's BOM exceeds the 'comfort zone' for the lower tier market it's in.
For example, on later gigabyte, asus, or other brand boards, you may find less VRM's or heatsinks, or less usb ports on 'newer' revisions, to keep costs down for the intended market as the platform ages.
BOM = Bill of Materials.
@elfin warren NO hardware unboxed does not shill / is not biased, they happily hand it to intel, nvidia, or even AMD when deserved. They're anything but biased, like Gamer's nexus is good on it too. Most of the reviewers that have a very large following are pretty good about that now-a-days.

I agree that GN and HW UB are good. I generally put them on when I need info to keep up on market conditions as especially HW UB covers market prices moving up or down sometimes. I have a LOT of money invested in the market here.
I found them many years ago as I can't take how hyper (ADHD?) linus is at current and for as long as I've seen him (he gives me that feeling I got when I really, really wanted to beat someone up when I was in school just for existing - I know this is mean but I have no other way to put it - was wired as a bully from birth - sorry).
Also, tried watching the WAN show, mush-for-brains using "like" in every sentence. They could use a public speaking course! I hate to be so negative but HW UB and GN are a saving grace against that, even if Tim from HW UB does the 'like' thing now and then it's not to a headache-inducing amount.

I used to leave the WAN show on while I made my graphics and models for my project, but I couldn't stand it anymore. Yes, cats can be unpredictable but they only want love, is good for the blood pressure. We have a bunch here and yes, they do munch mice now and then so it's useful (my neighbors to the back are cows! They don't blast music often or have too many domestics, but farms can = rat issues).
GN used to be a LOT more monotone, now it's not so much anymore, not to a grating amount.

I mean, I have to hand it to someone who can make a business out of reviewing PC tech especially with the way intel was stagnating for YEARS since the Sandy Bridge days (Sandy was good, but we got a lot of 2% improvements year over year and that's just SAD).
However, if you're going to speak to an audience publicly, especially the world over, spend the 400$ or 1000$ it costs to take a short public speaking course. My father taught me that as did the college prep school I attended (was a military school in it's day), so there are things that stick out like sore thumbs that can spoil much of the good content out there.

Have a data cap on my internet so I don't get to watch in HD or even 720 and often not even 480p. Even if I wanted to watch in 480p, I have satellite internet as it's that or 3mbit DSL... So I have to pick and choose carefully. Living out in the sticks is great if you like your house paid for etc, no mortgage here, but the internet is quickly becoming more and more of a downer these days in the last 10 years.
