ok
Wow, I didn’t know Minecraft used so much CPU
Can you power the graphics settings?
my graphics card isnt being recognized as installed rn
I should know how to answer that but idk what that means
GG @blissful dragon, you just advanced to level 1!
perhaps it isnt pushed in or powered enough
You can lower settings like the view distance and cloud and water quality
@urban ferry do you have a laptop or desktop?
laptop
it doesnt go above 30% usage when I play it normal, its just when I start up minecraft it goes to 100%
settings are very high
It turns the GPU off when it isn’t using it to save battery
GG @turbid sluice, you just advanced to level 1!
something tells me it's partly java's fault
Well, Minecraft doesn’t use the GPU much
after minecraft boots up
So while you are playing it’s fine?
Then it isn’t really a problem, some apps just use a lot of the CPU when starting
About your GPU, it is recognized there
@urban ferry @turbid sluice thankyou guys btw for helping me
sure
Yeah, no problem
now time to see how much it uses when i have shaders enabled
mine surprisingly uses about 55% of my gpu
what gpu do u have?
rtx 2060
not really
ah
I didnt change it
you might wanna consider doing that
please tell me how lol
ok hold on gimme a second
yeah
need to be running 64 bit but yea in the launcher theres an option to add more memory
most the time it only allocates 2gb
you can set it for 4-8gb
where in the launcher would it be?
i play modded minecraft so its different for me
go to launch options, enable advanced settings, click latest release, turn on JVM args, then switch that number to half your ram
i have 16gb so i changed the 2 to a 8
can I do like 6?
you can do as much as your ram is
yeah, little hard to see but I got it
alright cool
I got 16gb
ah
10 should be plenty left over
can do 14 safely
@blissful dragon it will most likely never get to 6
just depends on system really and the tpe of minecraft
its not like the 6gb will be reserved for just minecraft
I know that part yeah
but by changing that number youre allowing it to go up to that much
thankyou the 3 of you guys for helping me, I really appreciate it
sure
I got friends calling me so ill see you guys later
cya
bye bye
sildurs high i think
Hey, anyone here help with build suggestions?
whats going on?

Well I am bringing my pc out of the stone age. Had a GTX 760 and just upgraded to a RTX 2070. Now I need a new motherboard cpu and ram which are all old. Intel i3 530, MSI Iona motherboard, and 16gb ddr3 ram
how much money you working with?
I want to upgrade for gaming and have a budget of $500-$650.. can go $700 but would rather not.. Also want to pick up a SSD or M.2 for OS
okay.
are you trying to stay intel
cause i dont think your gunna get far on a budget like that when you need a whole new build for gaming
I have always been Intel but looks like AMD has some good options out. I am willing to change
Thanks
no problem
😄
@normal steeple Here is a build
You can reuse your case but your budget is enough to get everything new
That way you can leave your other PC working, sell it or donate it
Or even keep it as an HTPC or backup
500gb isnt that much storage
might wanna either get a larger m.2 ssd or a 7200rpm hard drive
They can easily fit a 1TB SSD in the budget
And they can reuse the hard drive on his old PC
What y’all think the best build for the game rust and rainbow six siege is?
i cant imagine rust takes much and i know rainbow doesnt
is that all you really intend on playing with it?
Rust takes decent equipment
I just wanna build my own rig
That’s the rust specs
0 votes and 7 comments so far on Reddit
Lmao
people run that with some old ass eq max seetings with nothing below 60
its not a real intensive game
But Minecraft is better...
Lmao that’s beside the point
my buddy ran divinity 2 max settings on a 750ti
But you agree right?
Older versions of Minecraft
so i basiclly always never trust devs on what makes there stuff run great i always believe people
Yeah I was thinking about buying a build but I would have to put it together
And it was water cooled
That
If I did water cooling I'd think my pc was broke BC I couldn't hear the fans
You could listen for the beautiful pumping instead
@exotic yarrow Rust is very unoptimized and I'd recommend minimum 16gb of ram over the 8gb recommended
so no matter what rig you have people still get problems like lag spikes and loading stutters
Okay so would the build I sent a pic of be good? @zenith forge
that would run anything so yes
as long as you have a around a gtx 1060 and some i7 4th gen and up you should be fine
with 16gb of ram
Woot woot, just bought an i5 3570. No more i3 gang for me
if its blinking orange that probably means the battery has been killed by faulting charging at the time
What is the best bang for your buck when it comes to new mother boards?
@mental tendon
do you plan on overclocking?
also what cpu do you have
also what size motherboard are you lookin for
(sorry for all the questions)
@urban ferry im really just looking for something faster that will handle streaming while playing better and give me the best graphics Quality..
alright
right now i have an MSI A88x - G45 Mother board....
yes
r5 2600
nope was starting with mobo

but if hes streaming...
6 cores
r7 has 8 cores
@mental tendon are you looking for a budget streaming/gaming pc?
alright
not too cheap but not like break the bank
b450 mobo
anything you wanna go all out on? like graphics or processor?
I would like to be able to play on high graphics settins on wow or ultra while streaming 1080p with 60fps no problem
lemme see what i can do
I’m interested in this too 😄
lol
asking all the right questions
i was originally gonna try and upgrade my mobo but i feel as though it is soo out of date probably not worth it
yeah...

how much storage do you need?
quite a bit i was thinking 64g ddr4 and then also have a tera or 2 inside

or do you wanna do a combo ssd and hdd
either way im willing to explore both options
ok
Are you just gaming and streaming
like 512gb ssd and 1.5tb hard drive
m.2 ssd for os/apps and then hdd for any document/video storage
Gaming streaming and video editing
Oh okay
OMG
Carry on with the 64gb
lol
you want rgb or anything flashy?
Zack, 2tb minimum
thats gonna drive price up for rgb stuff
no no flash just practical
im currently running a fully enclosed corsair mid tower
straight black
no flash lol
@mental tendon before you buy anything, id wait a month to see the benchmarks of the new Ryzen 3rd gen cpus
they could outperform intel cpus at a cheaper price
and they also support things like pcie 4.0
also do you plan on using the same case as you have right now?
i mean if the case is from the same year as that hardware, you might wanna get a new one idk
naw the case was recently purchased.. the mother board was found in the house we just bought in a box in the attic and i wanted to see if i could build it soo i did lol
ah ok
im on pcpartpicker rn, and i put something together and i included a case because i didnt wanna wait for ur response lol
yea its pretty awesome
take a look
you may wanna consider upgrading the gpu to a 2070 or better, but the 2060 is a great card
cool thanks alot... what kind of numbers do you think ill put out with this build?? no issues anywhere?
hmmm... id say you can run most games at max settings
just a note: dont try to do ray tracing
the rtx 2060 says it can do ray tracing but it cuts the framerate in half
ok cool
It's not too bad in 1080p high for Ray tracing
im only recommending the 2060 because its a great card for everything outside of ray tracing
i mean if you dont mind 30fps...
lol 30 fps is what im streaming at right now even though im getting 120+ in game
lmao
ive got quite a bog on my streams
I've gotten 50 fps in high (not ultra) battle field V with raytracing on 1080p
On a 2060
huh
ok
so you might be able to do ray tracing if you turn down the other video settings
Yeah, don't try ultra though, you'll have a bad time
but if youre streaming i dont even think ray tracing is worth it
probably not
You can't tell much on a compressed stream^
also that processor is a beast, but if you plan on doing overclocking youre gonna have to get a different cooler
the stock one is great, but as with any cpu if youre overclocking get a better cooler
i dont tend to do over clocking never really understood it so figured i should never mess with it
good idea
that processor is so great anyways i dont think youd need to overclock it
before you purchase it, get the opinion of a Techie or mod on this server
save that link if u want
yeah that ryzen 7 2700x will fly in comparison to that
very nice
also with that ssd, youre gonna have insanely fast boot times
that would be awesome i have pretty good boot times right now... but just looking to upgrade my streams and gameply
yeah definetly
my only concern with that build is that the case wouldnt have enough fans that come with it, but that problem doesnt matter if youre using ur own case anyways
sure
👀 might end up getting that for myself and swapping out some of that money put towards the ram for better gpu or something
nah the 2060 is fine
ill probably get a better mobo
that ones still good as far as i know, but id like to get a flashier one
personally, I'd save the extra money and just get a 2700 over the 2700x, and just overclock the 2700
but that's really only if you're gonna get an aftermarket cooler
not a bad idea but eh
the 2700x doesn't come with a stock cooler btw
it does
?
oh nvm, it comes with the wraith prism
yee
pretty great stock cooler imo
nothing great for overclocking obviously
but looks? heck yea
I wouldn't even touch an overclock with it
yeah
I'm currently running a 2700 with a Noctua cooler, overclocked to 4GHz
realy easy to oc, even if you're new to pc building
oh Noctua is hideous
but top of the line for cooling
even compared to AIO
yeah, i just dont like the look of air coolers that much...
runs just as cool, but quieter than the pump on an AIO
the Dark Rock Pro is decent looking imo
Noctua has a cut-out on the heatsink to allow for tall RAM
I have G.Skill Trident Z ram in my build
you can also offset the cooling fan if it gets in the way
I have rgb ram
I just don't put the second fan on my cooler
the one fan keeps it cool enough, and it sits between the heatsinks
but then youre sacrificing capability
but I also have 9 rgb fans in my full-tower case lol
AIOs can look better, just too loud
water pumps suck
haha
diarrhea fans
but I mean, I also don't really notice my Noctua either with how much is going on in my case lol
the aluminum heatsinks kind of reflect the lights anyways lol
that thing is bigger than ur psu 😂
Didn't see a help tab so any ideas? Just built this and everything has power, everything is connected properly and everything is compatible. MEMOK light is still on so guessing it's doing its thing. Nothing on the monitor and keyboard and mouse aren't lighting up.
ASUS Z390-E Gaming Motherboard
Intel i9-9900K
ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB
32GB DDR4 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance
NVMe-M.2 970 EVO Plus 1TB
@austere tree
Everything is coming on and working. Fans run and what not. The RAM is 4x4
Nothing comes on the monitor and mouse and keyboard are RGB and they don't even turn on.
I get the CPU red light for a second and then it goes off. DRAM light comes on next and stays on
Have you tried resetting your CMOS?
I tried 2 sticks of RAM and same problem
Try a single stick of ram as well.
So removing the CMOS should I wait for any certain time or just remove and put back in?
20 seconds.
Let me try both of these and see what happens
That's what I'm hoping not for haha
I bought an Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero and it ended up being faulty.
So in order to get the rest of the RAM, should I get everything working first, then turn computer off, install rest of RAM and turn back on?
I've been lucky and never had issues so always have the amount of RAM I want right from the start
Yeah, I'd get the PC set up, then slot the ram in, as long as it's all the same ram, then go for it.
Resetting the CMOS worked then? @spark oak
I think it did or having 1 stick of RAM in. One of those 2 worked haha. Thanks for the help. I'm getting even closer now.
Will do. Thanks again
Hello quick question. I’m planning for an AMD build an looking at some mobo. Out of asus, giga and msi which brand should i go for? I’ve had suggestion of b450 tomahawk and wondering if that is enough or is there something I can spend a little more for more performance?
any extra features you looking for?
That's a hefty mobo, what are you putting on it?
if you arent exactly looking for a specific feature, any brand is fine, it's your personal preference, features and stuff
IT does matter, depending on what processor he's using, how much ram he wants, and a few other things.
ASUS has great BIOS, very user friendly, imo.
I getcha.

Do you have any questions Theo? o vo
Since it will be my first time building one user friendly might be nice
Any suggestion on which model?
I’m trying to build for game
Upper tier ASUS mobos like the one you linked is great, and very 'future proof' meaning it can fit much heftier hardware in it.
looking at ryzen 5 for cpu
Gigabyte is good compromise, as long as you don't cheap out. And MSI does some very good 'military efficiency' boards that aren't super pretty, but get the job done.
Honestly, if you're gonna go with an RX 570-590...just get the best they have, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 590.
And yeah!
well trying to fit budget
saving money and all
lol
saving up for black friday for sales
Oh!
if they have it lol
Good idea!
They will.
If you're saving up for black friday, buy something pasasble, like an RX570 lower tier.
Cause AMDs new cards and CPUs will be releasing on July 7th.
i like gigabyte mobos because they have SOOOOO much RGB
GIGABYTE AORUS.
Aorus is really a great series and shows you that even lower-tier manufacturers can make quality parts.
one concern for gigabyte is that where ever i read they say bios is not as good
Have you considered buying a package deal, Rych?
they sems good but dont always got what i want lol
so do i need 2600 or is 1600 still ok?
2600 better to pay extra?
and out of the three b450 models
msi tomahawk
aurus pro
rog strix
which would you guys recommend?
1600 is ok
Tomahawk is an amazing board
at that level? Yeah, they're all great and it's down to what you personally like.
so if i go higher tier i will see differences?
Yes. 1600 is good performance for its price, and imo 2600 is equally good performance for its price. If you want to do more intensive gaming/streaming or video editing the 2600 will definitely give you better performance, but the 1600 should see you confidently through it all. What it really comes down to is if you think you need that extra performance, and are willing to spend the money to have it. I personally went for the 2600x. A bit more expensive, but I decided it was a better fit for what I wanted to see out of it.
Does anyone know of any rumors on the 3600 vs the 2700? I currently have a 2600 and am debating if I should upgrade later this year or if I should try to replace my Vega with a 2080
there haven't been that many rumors for the 3600 tbh
i would just wait till the 7th when independent 3rd party reviews release
Theyre saying 3600 is 25% better benchmarks and performance than 2600
Thats from some leaked info
i really can't wait to see what the new Ryzen cpu's have to offer as far as overclocking
I don’t think they will disappoint
I hope it hits 4.8 or 5.0 on my b450
any thoughts on the expected lifecycle of z390?
i found this diy combo on newegg is it worth to get this and rx 570 8gb as an entry gaming?
couldve made it cooler by adding a gpu lol
diy prepicked combo!
actually she aint a bad combo 🤔
$778.92 before tax using this combo
1060 6gb with 4 extra case fans
thats actually a very decent setup
(the case fans arent rgb)
gpu lengh is a real concern for that case though
For a starter pc to gaming that’s pretty nice
Im looking at rx 570 for the gpu
No
A select few have said if you run 144hz and 1080p, then there will be some slight bottlenecking
Wtf do I do....wait for the new ryzen 3900x or just go ahead and buy the 9900k
Ryzen 3 is just around the corner. Ryzen 2 already has better thermals and comparable performance. Ryzen is also cheaper. Intel really needs to step up their game.
Is it worth to upgrade a ryzen 5 1600 ,I'm only using about 50-60% under max load, just wondering if gen 2 or gen 3 was worth it
we'll need to wait for independent benchmarks on the 7th to know for sure
the jump to 2nd gen isn't that huge, but 3rd gen looks like it will be
i have a ryzen 7 1700 and im upgrading for sure
if not just for the pcie4
gonna take me 2 months to save up for the motherboard since the strix x570-E will be 329 alone
I did get a b450 so it should support it ,my main bottleneck I think is my ram its 3000 mhz but it's only 8 gigs and for gaming it isnt great
i run a ryzen 7 1700 2x8gb 3200 mhz trident z rgb abnd a gtx 1070
switching to a strix x570-E, ryzen 12 core cpu and RX5900 when it rel;eases
I'm getting a new GPU on Friday my rx 580 really isnt cutting it XD
i thibnk they said the 16gb 5900 will be sept to christmas
Just hoping my 750 watt psu will be good enough
the rx 5700 will release but will still be good for u
yea it should be
i run a evga 750 g3
and i even have custom liquid cooling
Mines a cosair cx750 which sucks because it's not modular, it took like 2 hours to do cable management
you can AIO or custom LC your GPU, yes. as long as it's done properly, it should give better results than the typical 3 fan solution
wrong channel btw
@naive pendant my bad sorry
AMD - FX-8350 4 GHz 8-Core Processor? or the AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor
Or any other suggestions in the same price range for gaming
@pseudo pivot the FX series is in no way worth a purchase these days
I would go with the Ryzen 5 2600 for the great upgrade path
yeah
is ryzen 5 1600 priced at 79.99 a good deal?
trying to build a comp for first time
considering I paid 220 dollars when it first came out
and I still use it now, yes.
that is one heck of a deal.
the 1600 for $80 is a steal
yeah, and it's still a powerful cpu.
I don't even need to upgrade for a fews years, maybe longer.
but i want new shinies.
:l
Well that starts my journal to build my first pc
gonna take it step by step as I save up money
there ya go 😄
nice
think i will wait for the rest until blackfriday
with release of new rx
existing rx will prob drop
hopefully
it will
turns out that most game I will play can be played with even 570 4gb
do mobo and ram also go on discounts during BF?
sometimes
Looking at getting an inexpensive AM4 socket mobo. I have things narrowed down to 9 on Newegg (https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007625 601292786 4814 8000 4114 4115 600009016 600009017 600008639&Order=PRICE&LeftPriceRange=50 90)
Anyone have any suggestions on which I should get?
o_O
the roles have reversed @lunar jungle
I've always liked MSI.
I've heard good things on the ASUS TUF boards as well.
I was leaning towards the the standard ATX MSI or ASRock board. I've heard MSI is good but I know nothing about ASRock though
ASRock is meh
is alright
go with the msi b450-a pro
you're looking for 80 dollars? or just under 100
Obviously the cheaper the better. But under $100 yes. Its just for a 2200G build
ah gotcha
but yeah my first pick would be msi.
only cause I've had multiple boards from them
never let me down.
Sounds good! Thats one of the ones I was leaning towards. Thanks for the help!
Anything else I can help you with today? 😄
If you could order that for me and have it shipped to my house that'd be great 😜
Cause I got one for free lol
and I currently have an i7 960 i believe
that it is 😦
there was the extreme edition as well
I looked up benchmarks for the 2200G and the 960. Its pretty much a lateral move 😐
but newer parts.
Tis true
yeah the 960 can somewhat hold its own against that, specifically with a good OC
I'll still be using the 960 build. This 2200G build will be a living room PC mainly used for streaming movies and such
you're weird 😛
never claimed to be normal lol
the 2200G would actually make a very good HTPC'er
My thoughts exactly since its not much of an upgrade from my current rig. No sense in building it as a gaming rig. I'll be building a nice custom case for it too. Just to further prove how weird I am @weak hamlet
yes the 3D printer will most likely be used lol
I can't wait to see what I come up with either 😜
Thanks again for the suggestion Box and JD
🙂
so for gaming is it better to get an atx mobo or does mini do the job too?
Depends on your demands for things such as the number of pcie slots and other features. Otherwise it shouldn't really make any difference.
a more fair comparison is gonna be the 9900K vs the 3900X
^
It's kinda like going who would win the GT 1030 or the Radeon VII.
so question for u guys
i have 8 gigs of ddr4 3000mhz ram should i have 16 or is 6 enough
8*
16 is really the new standard, especially for gaming machines
@crystal gate what gpu do you have
because ram doesn't boost graphical performance
i mean
you gotta have enough ram
but minecraft is already an unoptimized game so adding ray tracing on top of that is super demanding
I have a gtx 1050
i get 25-30 fps
when the window is small
when its fullscreen it gets 5-11
so
yeaaaaaaah
yeah its not your ram thats making it not possible to run minecraft with ray tracing shaders
its my cpu
is a ryzen 3
1700k
im getting a ryzen 7 2700k
so
that should help a bit
wait
wha
you're trying to run PTGI on a 1050?
whats a ryzen 3 1700k
you're not going to run ray tracing anything on that gpu
the CPU's not going to help you, my guy
its all i could afford at the time
i just want a faster pc, so a better cpu with more cores helps
a 1050 will not run ray tracing
you say you have a 1700X right?
accualy its a 2200
ah, gotcha
ya
the 1050's gonna bottleneck the absolute nonsense out of it
...why
do they bottelneck?
go for a 2070 for the same money
and you're not gonna get better for that price tbh
you bet, man
CCFL > RGB. fite me
actually, with color reactive cables CCFL lights made some setups look futuristic
i'm starting to feel old 😀
lol
will trident z rgb memory fit under the noctua nh-d15 ? i know it's a beefy heatsink
Are we expecting any sort of price drop on intel processors next month when the new AMD chips are being released?
If not, then ill just look into 4th of July sales for my processor
wonder what type of sales will happen. and when will the new amd chips even be available for preorder?
there's supposedly going to be a 15% price cut in the top end processors from intel
can nyone help if i had 8gb ddr4 ram and i buy another set 8 gb ddr4 ram and put it in would it work?
yes, it would
thx
Whats a stable overclock on a Ryzen 5 2600 with a GIGABYTE b450 Aorus Elite motherboard with Ballistix 16Gb DDR4 Ram @3200mhz?
Not the overclock but the voltage anyways..
I’m doing 4ghz
i'm thinking that you could push it bit more towards 4.1-2. beyond that, you're going to hit ryzen's voltage wall anyway
What intel processor would u compare the Amd ryzen 2700 to?
Ok, so I am still looking at updating my simming computer and I am looking at memory. My question is, with DDR4 is if I am getting 16GB and I have a choice between 4 dimms and 2 dimms, which is better, getting 2x 8GB sticks, or 4x 4GB sticks?
hm well i actually dont know that answer
2 8 gbs
i assume filling up all four of the slots would be faster
having 2 8gb sticks also leaves room for expansion
yep
but tbh 16gb is good for most everything unless you do more advanced tasks
like video editing
depends on the motherboard too
yeah
tf
when does the new ryzen generation come out?
7/7
But real question, how long until they're not instantly sold out?
lol
Oof
nOOOO
i wanna build a computer asap
I hope they don't sell out fast.
Aye same
well Zack, you better be ready come 7/6
well i mean only after benchmarks and reviews come out
Hope I can still get one after benchmarks go live
Although, big brain dtrat
😃
Take advantage of 30 day return policy
Buy fast, then leave sealed until benches go live
well first i gotta convince my parents to let me build one
I assume that the embargo is within a day or two of launch
Lol, Zach you could do what I did several years ago and get into CAD for school
well you know nexus, and all the other already have them
soon as 7/7 hits, they will be uploaded on YT.
Ah cool
just like when amd released the dates/prices
if amd really wanted to build the hype train even more theyd send the processors out early to reviewers
Neato
yeah but the thing is they can't release any info
So that means that I can buy fast and cancel the order of benches are underwhelming
if they allowed them to
bench marks going to be great
CPU wise
dunno about NAVI
still not sure what I want to buy
keep my 1080 and go cpu
amd high end gpus are a bit underwhelming
What're you running rn?
What cpu?
Will newegg have the equivalent of prime day? I saw someone type that somewhere in here
Ah, I'd def say go for CPU upgrade
they got prime day every day
The 1080's still a heavy hitter

haha
U rite
dangit
Ay lmao
Zack, this is why you still blue.
at least mine is a proper link
im on mobile gimme a break
😂 😂
lol
Us normies will never ascend to the rank of speedyboi
so thats the only reason huh 😤 because i cant type links fast enough lol
and you're just a boy.
what happens when you go back to school.
no moar Zack.
😭
from 7 to 3.
😛
lol
except weekends and breaks
wait i got it
i go on my phone during the school day like the little brat i am
jkjk nah
Is there anyway to preorder any of the new AMD stuff and get it on the 7th?
will the cpus go out of stock quickly when they are released on the 7th?
If so, how long will it usually take to receive the cpu after ordering it if it becomes backordered?
no clue
yeah
the question lmao
he's like, give me the answers to something no one knows
so specific too oh my
i mean, it's a general question; how do these things usually go....
it's like everyone on this discord today is pissy for no reason
@hasty marsh You literally could just be like; oh, that's not something that is very predictable. But you were being very rude there by implying that i asked a stupid question
I digress
no one here knows, and we get that same question 30 times a day
Okay, and i respect that. I understand it gets annoying. But like, how am I supposed to know that? It's frustrating to me that I get bashed for asking an honest question yah know...
you werent bashed
it was genuinely funny, because no one can expect answers for an upcoming release of anything really
what cpu is recomended to pair with a sapphire rx 460 4gb
my budget build currently has that and a q6600
4gb ddr2
i only have older games so its fine to do that with but im 16 and got most of the hardware free
i was looking to get a new mobo cpu and ram
and recommendations
Hey guys, would you recommend buying a Ryzen 2000 series CPU and sticking it in one of the upcoming X570 mobos? I was thinking of buying a moderate CPU and having it last until the Ryzen 4000 series releases (the last CPUs to support AM4 socket) and then just switching it out
so just get a 3000 series?
right. thanks for the input!
👍
how much does latency matter for memory?
It makes a huge difference in price.
I don't want to buy the cheapest if I should buy better though.
How necessary is a UPS to be paired with PSU?
the package delivery?
i mean, it's nice to have but it's not a necessity
unless you're doing highly sensitive stuff that needs extra time to be saved and you have frequent outages
lol.
Most (not all) PSUs can handle small changes in current and help protect your system. I got a UPS because my current had large variable changes that resulted in light flickering, etc. sometimes the pc would turn off. UPS with my WiFi and pc plugged in was a perfect solution.
@steady patio dang, beat me to it.
I had to use a UPS in order to run a PC on a generator because the cheap generators produce "unclean" power
I also like being able to play during storms.. so another win there (unless you have a generator) 😆
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X vs Intel Core i7-8700K
Userbenchmark Effective CPU Speed: 114% vs 107%
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X - 13th / 1160
Intel Core i7-8700K - 22nd / 1160
if u look at the lists of all of them, it skips 13th place
might have been removed.
it still shows the thing tho, you just have to google 3600x and hit the link
its kinda weird
it doesn't skip it anymore
Will the X570 crosshair VIII impact be available for purchase on july 7th?
Hi people. I am building a gaming rig for my 7 year old nephew and i am thinking of purchasing the MSI Arsenal B450 Tomahawk but newegg has two listings for it, i would like to know if there is a difference between the 2 since one is listed for $120 the other is listed for $160. item numbers N82E16813144189 and 9SIAG7R91S4432. Can anyone give some insight?
7 year old nephew???
yea his dad got him gaming at a young age lol
what does he play
minecraft, fortnight and he wants to check out apex legends and rust
ah, well, the tomahawk shouldnt be more than 120 dollars
fortnight? you would have lost my aid if you had not seid minecraft.
i think the cheapest one isnt much different than the others
the kid's 7 @lime meteor
but fortnight.
also, the motherboard does not matter that much,
don't ask me i don't play fortnight lol
as long as it supports you cpu, and has the pcie lanes that you want,
@vagrant garden get the cheapest tomahawk, as they shouldnt go above 120
you would be just as good to buy a cheaper one.
amazon and newegg's prices for it are similar
though if someone's gonna play fortnite and minecraft, i doubt you should spend too much on a pc
yeah
@vagrant garden, do you have a pc design in mind?
oh cool thanks
well i am building two pc's one for me and one for him for his bday
sounds like a fun day 😄
what are the parts your looking at. and yeah, that does sound cool.
cpu - ryzen 5 2400G gpu gtx 1660
ram?
16 Gb ripjaw V for him and 32 Gb ripjaw V for me
yeah, bit excessive for minecraft, but still a good setup.
i figured he doesn't need a TI since he is 7 but i am looking into the 1660 ti for myself
yeah
oh he will be most likely playing more than that when he gets his rig
do you have a price range?
unless you only have the budget for a1660, get a Ti for it
i was thinking around $700 for him and around $1500 for mine
ah
my build was 750 lol
😐
lol Tweide
Jk, 1660ti is an amazing card
wait.
Or get a used 1070-1070ti
you have a 1500 budget for your own pc @vagrant garden
bruh you can get like an rtx
maybe if you wait a bit longer, the rtx supers
7/7
yea i am thinking about the rtx
you need to
You can get a 1070 for $220 used
the RTX supers look good
when the time comes, compare the benchmarks of the rtx supers compared to amd's 5000 series gpus when they come out, then decide
I sold my 1070 fo 200
dang.
only upgraded to the 2080ti for the raytrace... with the new games coming out.
1660 ti is a bit newer with the newer architecture
@vagrant garden, I highly recommend waiting a little bit longer, for the ryzen cpus, unless you don't have time.
the new Supers will add some new light to the market.. and give new marks to judge against for $$
lol i can wait on my rig but i am on a time crunch for his
wait do the supers come out in a week?
they said July...
2060 and 2070
7/9 I thought
ye
but good luck getting one right away
few days after AMD launch.
the some thing will happen like the 2080TI and jack the $$ up.. all the amazon sellers
supply vs demand... a few big companys will get them at 700$ and sell them for 850$
anyone know neweggs discord so i can add it to my discord?
is this not neweggs sever?
The Official.
why wont my gpu overclock to 3545mhz like the ad
oh you are on the web browser?
yea
cool got it
ayee
don't know if this is any use: made a list and stuff: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Ykwptg
The new AMD looks sweet... just run it in a fridge and dipped in liquid Nitrogen... should stay cool Enough
yep, so you should wait.
