if not just turn on xmp and roll with it
You should check buildzoid videos about ram ocing, he is like the god of memory ocing
you need to survive his endless ranting tho
Setting like vdd, vddq, vddq2 and dram voltage i guess everything below 1.5 is pretty much safe
But im not sure...
Safe doesnt necessarily mean stable, however people have been running 1.4-1.55 vdd2 for daily with no issue on H16M, generally though just use what you need to run your freq/timings stably
Someone at Trustpilot doesn't seem to like Newegg. Been writing articles for them for 4 years, and wrote a good one for Newegg. Seems to have ruffled feathers over in Denmark, as they yanked the article first, then today all 4 years of my work. They offered to put some back if I paid them. O_o
I didn't even know they were outside the USA till today. No biggy, least the Important sites keep my work.
I'm waiting for my ram, then off to build. I'll have to use GameMax until I get my EVGA sadly.
dont
wait for the evga psu
if you waited this far, then wait a lil further
dont take any more risk with those terrible gamemax psu. everyone here already advised you on that
especially with all these stories of fried stuff like, not even my gigabyte bomb P-GM did that
Don't start showing .me drawer full collections of CPU please. I'm still absorbing the fact people collect ram still. I got to test the MB and CPU, and PSU I'm using to test hasn't had any issues in two years. If I wait for EVGA, it's past the 30 days. My hands are tied
Unless
Cores?
I thought AMD already had a 16 core CPU?
My bday is 21st so I hope Newegg ships my psu today. Canceled first order and change it to next day after Affirm botched up. Left them to fix what they did and used another form. Just hope it goes out today.
If I were to buy AMD, and that's a very big IF, I'd get the 32 core. Can only imagine the heat that one must generate.
Only reason I went with I9, this time around, I just didn't find any AMD socket motherboards that appealed to me.
32 core is threadripper
i mean honestly threadripper you'd be fine for a while but that's big money
7950X is supposedly huge multicore gains tho so don't take it lightly even if it is 16 cores
Wow, didn't even realize they jumped to $3900. Last time I looked, they were at $2500
Guess AMD finally realized they had some good CPUs they didn't have to sell cheaper than Intel.
shhhh
maybe
depends on how good Zen 4/13th gen are
and not ditch
I will move it to secondary system
I may retire 5900X soon
Oh now Ravel is awake. Never when I need to make difficult decisions lol
full pepega mode this gen huh
you are not fully commited if you dont buy a delidder and a copper ihs
or on 13900kf
just saying

I don't need that much
eisbaer pro already at almost 300W comfortably
If I get to that magic 318W with lapping I won't need delid
STAHP
im just worried about buying an aio and a contact frame for my 13700k... the modafoka will try to pull as much juice as possible with that much cooling and my 850 wont be able to feed him along with 4080 😛
I used to work for a chip manufacturer that did outsource work for Intel. Never seen someone get fired so fast. In an hour or hire, they handled like 2k Intel chips with their bare hands, no gloves, no tweezers, and wow did that cause one hell of a mess.
Lol
oh, didnt saw it
Ravel, want my 1200w GameMax when I'm done?
hmmmmm
send it to luke and have him review it
yup that indeed
I mean, for science, it'll be fun
will he roast it or will it be roasted
but seriously these stories about fried hard drives, that psu is dodgy man lol
on the cart waiting for October
I consider myself lucky then. All 4 systems in my home run off them, and the worst that's happened is hard drives PCB's dying
I mean, it'd actually be interesting to have someone who know what they're doing to take it apart and take a look
yup, send your gamemax unit to luke
I actually never suspected it could be the PSU.
he'll love it
we could ask luke in cult server
luke is in this server
My son told me to send it to the how 2 guy on YouTube. His videos start out sincere, then next thing you know, he's throwing eggs, torches, and other items at the item in question. I nearly died seeing him kill a new PS3 on initial release.
@LukeTheCultMan we have the best PSU in the world, want to test it?
Luke is the guy that made the PSU tier list and do reviews like
https://cultists.network/7017/gigabyte-p1000gm-review/
we have a cultist here that review psus, luke 😄
it's one of the more credible psu sources of the internet, and luke writes for them
large collation of reviews, teardowns and first hand experience
properly tested
well tbh luke is moreorless starting out on actually reviewing
it's a citable source, if they say something is good or bad, they have a very good reason
yup they update the psu tier list that we use here everyday
yeah but their lists are credible
aris is the op psu review guy
the last time i had a blackout the psu mantained my pc running for a split second before shutdown 😄
solid caps
Luke only seems to have one (edit: found more reviews) PSU review with no testing, so idk if he actually has any PSU testing equipment. That said Luke could prolly get it into the hands of someone who could test it
Yea, I think Luke can only open it up and take a look at components used
someone like Aris can do the actual testing
I mean I'd still trust luke tho
all he needs is one look inside and he knows most of the time
he is part of the team, he can forward the psu to the next in line for a complete breakdown anyway
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

did you see MLID's response
basically like "Idk, still sounds dead to me, stop lying Raja" lmfao
really sounding like he's coping with being called out
yeah hahaha so funny, the comments are killing me
leave it to intel for the biggest bag of hype and leaks
Today I show you how to pick open any lock using just a paperclip. This method works on ALL locks - 100% guaranteed. Lock picking is actually incredibly easy to do - anyone can learn how to successfully open any lock using just a paperclip in a matter of minutes. Happy lock picking!
Have a video Suggestion? Post it in the Comments Section, Cont...
This guy, he'd do a better job with my ganax.
Tried to find his PlayStation one. I still cringe thinking about it
In most cases a 7950x would kick the 32 core threadripper's ass
Your comment just saved you from one of my walls of text lol. Ok, what is a 7950x, and I swear, none of that OMG, you don't KNOW???!!!
I build my PCs every few years, and go into hybernation. I'm not a teenager that knows it all, not anymore at least.
7950x is amd's new ryzen 9 flagship that will be coming out in like a week, 5950x being the last one but this one is on am5(new platform) and will be ddr5 only. It will also obviously be better even though they are both 16 cores
I believe it has more cache and will have higher clocks
But most users cannot even take use of 16 performance cores
And most users rely on single core performance, gaming etc, that 32 cores would be worse because lower clocks (and in this case older generation too)
I can, but not often. Reozma was supposed to take advantage using 6 cores, but that title is in abandinware now
Reozma was a Terraria/Starbound clone. Crashed and burned sadly.
Always the ones that show promise.
How can the 7950 kick a 32 cores butt? Not physically, it's just I stayed clear of AMD for years, and picturing a 16 core vs a 32 core paints a picture of a small kid, and huge bully.
Trying to wrap my head around the idea lol
$850 in China. Why wait for US and just import? Or the motherboards made to reject grey market CPUs?
Better single core perf
Obviously in multi core workloads the Threadripper 32 cores will win
But no regular user can really use 32
16 is even pushing it
I would be impressed
also, right now, 5950x, a 16 core 32 thread chip, can beat a threadripper 2990wx, a 32 core 64 thread chip
in multicore
each generation you get improvements from anything such as node shrinking so the architecture (the building blocks of a CPU) can be better to the cache (the fastest level of memory access and paging) to the platform itself or how it communicates to other parts of the system etc
Only two MMORPG games I can think of, make use of multiple cores. Don't Starve together, and rAythena, the Ragnarok emulator that uses 5 separate servers to run a world
ipc or microcode is also another example of improvements
IPC is a generalised one though
implying instructions per clock or essentially how many things each cycle a cpu can do
a cycle implying 1Hz
of lets say 5GHz
improving IPC means more instructions or calculations are possible at any given speed
so therefore it runs faster
Can't say anything about Windows 11 yet, haven't had time to look at it, but with 10, had issues with aspects of the OS, not allowing use of other cores.
L1, L2 and L3 cache also help a lot where it counts
providing more of each per core can help a lot especially with things like games where there's a lot of cached data
think of L cache like RAM, but it's much smaller and inside the cpu
but these little changes they do every generation is why the new ryzen chips take the older chips with more cores and threads to the cleaners
they're much more optimised, better design or architecture, lots of little changes here and there that make the newer releases have some benefit
unless skylake
My Z390, using more ram caused more bottlenecking with constant writing. Software developer just rewrote the games core to get around that.
Can't for the life of me recall what the old system is called, that turns drive space into memory. I didn't even know windows 10 had it, till an update forced down my throat, turned it on, despite having 64gb of ram.
Brb, it's irking me lol. Looking it up.
Pagefile!!!!
My first NVME OS system, with 14 spindle drives, out of the blue started slowing down, a lot. Discovered pagefile got turned on and not sure why, other than an update, and it was stealing chunks of space off of several drives till I disabled it.
Happened right after the build 1903 update, though don't hold me to that, need to look at my logs. May have the build wrong. In mean time, I'll not use the GameMax and wait to get my platinum EVGA tomorrow.
5:45 this morning, while my kids were getting ready for school, my doorbell went off. Ever notice how ones doorbell sounds much louder in the AM, before having your Coffee? I answered it and it's a politician trying to hand me flyers. I tell the guy for gods sake, it's 5:45 am. His reply was most human beings are up now. I said up maybe, awake, sure as hell not. He then tells me he doesn't feel safe with me not wearing a mask. I told him, this will make you feel much safer, and closed my door on him, locking door and unplugging my doorbell. Oh, and grabbing the first cup of coffee before my kids drained the 12 cup pot for school.
I really need to adopt a rottweiler. My neighbor has 2 and politicians never bother him 5:45 am.
Ravel, that looks more like a chimpanzee. Speaking of which, always wondered why BJ and the Bear was one of the series most hard to find. Didn't realize there was more than one incident, where people lost their faces to them when they got older. Didn't even realize they got much bigger due to TV.
Looking like I'm going Intel for next-gen
https://www.techpowerup.com/299002/early-core-i9-13900k-review-hints-that-it-holds-up-to-the-20-40-claim
An early review of a retail Intel Core i9-13900K "Raptor Lake" 8P+16E processor shows it holding up to the rumored "20-40" claim, the idea that the processor can be up to 20% faster in gaming, and up to 40% faster in productivity, compared to the current i9-12900K. Much of the gaming performance inc...
Just chased my Karen of a neighbor off my property. Delivery just came, and while we were checking in my Orders, Ms Karen who didn't feel like waiting, came over here and got into the poor guys face. He stepped back, to avoid her swinging finger, and we both heard crunch, as he stepped on a non padded envelope, holding my new RGB GIM fans. I really need a rottweiler lol. Something doesn't want me building my new system 😦
I'm just glad it wasn't my new ram going crunch 🤣
Last year, she ordered a pizza hut pizza, which made me want to order one too. I got mine in 38 minutes, while no one brought hers, not even 2 hours later. Asked the driver next time we had him why. My order was $50 with $20 tip. Hers was $240, no tip, and insane instructions.
New ram came today, power supply tomorrow. I can finally build. Might have an issue though. Just wrote service. When replacement came, invoice lost it's order # and turned into a return as well. Ram looks to be smarlock, which is like gift cards, where they don't work until scanned by register. Stops theft in it's tracks, but same time let's keep fingers crossed this ram is activated.
Amazon shipping me five new fans for the ones stepped on earlier. Won't interfear with my build as they were just backups to use in my daughter's case when I'm done with mine.
first time i hear such ram type exists
Well, said power supply was shipped but waiting for carrier pickup. That means Wednesday delivery. I get to build my system on my bday 🥳🥳 baraing any further chaos, like GameMax buying out EVGA with my luck
Ravel, this type of security been out a few years now. I been wondering about that myself with the ram
News 7 did an article on it last year.
Phones, tablets, laptops, software, won't work unless scanned by the register.
cant find anything related to that tech
so, it came unlocked from the seller? or do you have to do something additional to unlock it?
pretty sure every module of ram sold today is plug and play, really weird to hear about this type of smartlock ram thing which need some kind of verification to unlock
Many software and electronic items, usually the expensive ones, unlock when scanned like gift cards. If you let's say got a CPU or motherboard that came DOA, most likely the security device didn't disable. As for my ram, it has a scan barcode that is exactly the same as phones and gift cards. My only worry is this replacement is now marked as a return, so no clue if it's unlocked or not. When I get my power supply and hook it all up Wednesday, well know
That's not how it works?
Not for cpus and mobos, or any pc hardware ever
Like
EVGA GPUs that got stolen and went to Vietnam didn't even need any "unlocking" to work
It was stolen from a shipment truck in the US
Whoops
Fclk only 2600 tho
yeeeah
Asking the person who has it to confirm if it was crippled by ln2 oc
Anyway I don't think mobos or any pc hw has security feature like that like items in the malls does lol
I only see something like that in retail stores and stuff, and they put some alarm device on the boxes
If it's been forcefully removed, it'll sound the alarm. But it couldn't lock the device or hardware inside that box since it's just a simple alarm
If there were such locks in place, we would've had info about it
Such things so far only exists for softwares
Likely not lol, if the rumour mill is anything to go by
^
Fclk maxed out at 3000 for 1:1. Started to "desync" at 6200 with 1:2 ratio
Confirmed by the person who holding the cpu
I should start working for BestBuy again, just so I can get two Gen 13s at $75 each.
That is if I can get by the Intel training course for the year. Took me like 4 tries because I'd fall asleep at the PC while test was running.
64gb ram (32x2) just how bad would (32x4) be. searching past info. Frustrating, knowing I had the answer last week, just not sure if it was here or another channel.
i wouldn't be surprised if you don't even boot with 32x4
Don't you mean post?
yup
I got this:
Check this out on @Newegg: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5200 (PC5 41600) Intel XMP 3.0 Desktop Memory Model CMT64GX5M2B5200C40 https://www.newegg.com/corsair-64gb-288-pin-ddr5-sdram/p/N82E16820236840?Item=9SIB3Y1JJN8162&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-9SIB3Y1JJN8162-_-09192022

The team is better
Less capacity but like, still faster
Why are you going ddr5 specifically?
Out of 4 sets, one DOA and one died next day.
I wanted the latest version of Aorus Master, Z690 for the I9 CPU, and it only rates it for DDR5 memory
But then you're leaving performance at the table for much higher price tag
Im sure better ram will be out next year. The timings arent that great at the moment, from all manufacturers.
Well, if you insist on spending more money later. Then it'll be fine as a placeholder
At least you convinced me to send that used pack back.
Newegg shipped me a used set, then shipped me out a new so I don't risk voiding my $100 Windows pro builders license. Wouldn't matter if I added used ram after initial boot up with the new motherboard, CPU, and Ram. But if whoever sent it back to Newegg, booted up their system with it, Microsoft would see it's used, and possibly fail the new key.
I was also told last week, that the timings when it comes to DDR5 are a lot faster as the numbers are supposed to be divided if comparing to ddr4?
hey we discussed this in here before, can that person do 8000 desynced on that chip? they have h16a?
might be too late to ask but I just remembered lol
That person didn't have much ram oc knowledge, not sure if the ram kit currently available can do 8000 tho.
That's probably why that person uses 5200 instead of 6000 ram
ah
I thought it was Hynix 16gbit m-die?
ah actually that's true, jedec spd on that 5200 kit rules out hynix a
new kit
Although it was the first revision should be an A
Probably Samsung or cheap micron
That person just testing ln2 oc capability tho
So ram isn't that important
But confirmed 6000 is the highest point for 1:1:1 ratio for now
Every part I'm using to build this new system, came with a nice face plate for front of system. Corsair and I overpriced ram, nothing.
Those silver stickers remind me of the old Motorola keyboard smart phones. Was the first cell I purchased my kids. Didn't even know they came with silver and black metallic M stickers, until my kids couldn't get their phones open, and had to use a heat gun, very carefully, so soften the glue so I could open their phones to pull the stickers off. Stronger than double stick tape. Anyways, off to bed. Can't sleep. Like Xmas, waiting for that last part.
Hey guys with intel B660 what is the pcie4.0 bandwidth like
If i threw two M.2 gen 4 drives into it aswell as a pcie4.0 gpu would the B660 chipset handle that
aweeeesomeeee
My cat needs a wifi card? Explains where all the bandwidth is going lol. Getting a good wifi card, also needs a good router to support it. Otherwise you may be spending a lot for a good card, that's only using half it's capability
Btw, my cats name is Snowy lol.
I'll look up a few good pciexpress cards.
Trying to record Snowy and his chirp speak, is as infamous as trying to make money off of Michigan J Frog. Neither can be done, or so I thought! He was finally caught on camera, which I am happy my wife was able to do, because every time I got my camera out to catch this, or him going Woof!! Like a dog, no one would believe me lol. At least now ...
Check this out on @Newegg: Rosewill RNX-AC2030PCE, Dual Band Wireless AC2030 Wi-Fi Adapter, Up to 1730 Mbps (5.0 GHz) + 300 Mbps (2.4 GHz) Wireless Data Rates, PCI-Express Interface, 2 x External Antennas, Bluetooth 5.0 https://www.newegg.com/rosewill-rnx-ac2030pce-pci-express/p/N82E16833166142?Item=9SIA072GJ92998&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-9SIA072GJ92998-_-09202022
If you have an open PCI express slot, don't let the small size fool you. People think the card will only fit the small slot ones, but it fits all large ones too. Just don't plug it in next to an NVME. They conflict on older motherboards.
You can get it on Amazon as well. I was using this model on my kids Asus Z90 pro gamer systems for two years now, until I did their rebuilds last week that came with wifi and Bluetooth built in with better rates. If your using a router, let's say over two years old, then the WiFi card I posted is for you. If you just got a good router this year, there is better.
Ravell is the pro. I bow out to the PC god now.
oh god no, thats pato
(cries) Newegg lost my EVGA PSU 😦
sad to hear it pal
you have quite the ride with your builds
one mishap after another
My kids went off with no issues. It's mine that just has hurdles lol.
Fans came today. Was installing them. Hear a crunch, my son says we're home.....
What is it with GIM fans that attract feet.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Leaving it on the floor because I was lazy and didn't want to unplug my daughter's system, was my fault. You know how heavy those all glass Thermaltake cases are?
Removing all 4 glass panels gets rid of 90% of the weight. It's getting them back on I dread.
I just refused similar model for customer today. UPS came and we could hear the box sounded like a good and plenty box. So not just me that gets bad luck
Poor Newegg service. He may never talk to me again lol. Bbl.
These are the Mendocino CPU's for handhelds and budget laptops
"All SKUs feature an AMD Radeon 610M iGPU. It supports AV1 decode and supposedly plays e-sports titles such as DOTA 2, CS: GO and League of Legends at 720p 60 FPS."
so imo, the 1215u is the better option still
Strangest thing. I'll have to look into it in the morning. About to go to bed, and as I passed my son's PC I built last week, noticed it glowing and at first thought he left it on. Taking a look, saw it was completely powered off, but the ram sticks fully illuminated and part of the RGB CPU fan blade, despite system being off. Turned power off for now.
Oh, fans were not spinning. Only ram and fan blade lit up.
Seems fastboot and sleep mode effect RGB, where new system shuts down, leaving ram on, and enough voltage on the CPU fan to light a few LEDs. Not sure why out of two builds, exactly same set up it happens with one, but not the other.
Not sure how much heat those lights generate, but would think both ram sticks lit up with zero fans running, can't be to healthy.
System has two thermal thermometers. Got a better idea for a test using them.
I disable both fast boot and fast startup on basically all my systems v annoying
What a good motherboard for under 200
I keep looking at reviews for b550s and they all say things stop ped working
For what cpu?
Like a ryen 5 or 7
1 you shouldn't be spending that much on a mobo for those, 2 poor choices in 2022, 3 if you are upgrading you should wait a few months for 13th gen intel, if you are buying new you should go 12th gen intel atm
What's do you have atm and what's your total budget?
In the US?
Yeah
Yes
@dusky ember need wifi or any aesthetic preferences?
Okay
Gigabyte b660 aorus pro ax looks super nice for white builds imo
Believe it's $135 rn, unless sale ended
What I've got, there's probably better options for case https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pY2Fxs
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
just buy water cooler for cpu
and why should we do that
Then link something proving that
Because the 12400f is perfectly fine with the stock cooler for gaming. Which is much worse than a decent 240mm aio
Not to mention the ak620 white is $65 and beats a lot of mid range 240mm aios
Hell, the 12900f is fine with an ak620. Let alone a 12400f lol
@dusky ember id do this, put 2 coolers in, both v good, cheaper one is aio but non white, also consider used gpus because they have had some nice prices recently/get the non f version of the cpu and wait for 40 series to drop in October 12 for 4090 and November for 4080 to get an even cheaper 30 series/rx 6000 gpu or possibly a rx 7000 gpu if they come out soon
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zzWGH2
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR, Deepcool CK560 ATX Mid Tower
Trust me bro
lol
So wait why Intel and not amd
b stock clc is kinda nicely priced
The real question is why amd
Doesn't really matter, it's just what's good for the price
12600kf better price/perf than 5700x, and white b550s are expensive
Better perf/price currently
Intel does now
12600kf has 6p+4e cores
5600 has 6 cores, total.
Which passed years ago
for example
Was before 12900
Oh right lmao
More cores also doesn't really help much for gaming past a certain point
I see
6 strong cores is better than 10 weak ones
Tbf 12600k is more comparison with 5700x but still 6p+4e vs 8p
@dusky ember 1 e core is about the same perf as 1/3 p core btw
Ok
But they're used for background tasks etc cuz they're weaker
ye, just example for the i5 vs ryzen 5 lineups
showing the AMD more cores thing isn't true
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600KF, GeForce RTX 3060, Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB ATX Mid Tower
What about this
@vast meadow
That is miles worse
Worse in like every single way on things you changed
Apart from the 5000x, that's okay but you would want to put the 5000d airflow panel on it ideally
And the ssd but it's way too expensive for maybe a tiny bit slower (you won't notice the diff)
Gotcha
How closely do the 5700x and 12600k compare?
12600k wins
Gaming wise, bit worse still, multi core, worse
I did find it for 220$ once
Which is why i was curious
Overall it’d be 50$ saved versus the 12600k
ya ya
Meh, I like lga1700 better rn
Or just wait till Ryzen 7000 come out and get a 5950x for cheap
Hey quick question. I have 2 8 gig sticks of ram in my pc right now and i ordered 2 16 gigs of ram to upgrade right? They’re all ddr4. Can I keep them all in there? I have 4 slots
I don't see that going below $400 any time soon, unless you count used
There's also just 12900k doing the same thing if it happens to 5950x
Or just wait FEW years
Personally I have a 5700g in my personal system I’m planning on getting a 5900x when 7000 series comes out
Ehhhhhh 5 year old Intel flagship still goes for $500+ https://a.co/d/0C5prOh

7000 series coming out won't drop the price that much for 5900x
It for one, is a ryzen 9. And two, 7000 series uses ddr5
how does the asus x570 crosshair hero wifi not have type c on the mb...
it does
it just doesn't say usb c
but it definitely has some
it's the usb 3.2 gen 2
i seen that when was looking at connectors lol
Any new leaks on the I9-13900K?
I haven't even gotten to work on my fan redirection project and first boot up C2 error.
Waiting for my air compressor, just in case it's dust from packaging.
is one stick of 32gb good or need to fill 2 slots?
alright thank you
Yeah, Intel can discourage that all they want but there's nothing really stopping them from doing that
DDR5 might end up being a better option in the long run but some people will stick w/ the DDR4 boards simply bc it saves money being able to use DDR4 3200 you already own vs dropping more money to get the newest ram
Yep. DDR5 is finally starting to match high end DDR4 for not much more money but it is still a cost that can be avoided.
is DDR5 still having the issues that were reported early on? not like i am going to be upgrading anytime soon, i went the DDR4 z690 route so lol
Issues like not booting at the lowest jedec speed and having to set 4400 or less with 4 sticks? Yeah that's a platform issue. Intel hasn't figured it out. Maybe next gen?
gotcha, yep those issues, that was one reason i said "ddr4 for me" when i had to upgrade my CPU/mobo
Yeah like why even have 4 slots at that point lol
my thought was "if i want 2 RAM slots i will go iTX" lol
It go brr
I mean there would be no point it would just hurt intel cuz ppl would buy the board with 600 series chipsets and flashback for ddr4 instead
4 sticks of ddr5 being a meme will probably not be fixed for a while, they need stronger memory controllers and better motherboard ram topology
Leaked geekbench scores have the 7600x beating the 13600k in single core and being damn close in multi core
that's spicy
Okay but 7600x is going to be like 800$ system cost
$300 cpu, $150-200 mobo, $150 for an ok ddr5 kit
Have you seen the proving of the mobos lol
Cheapest x670 is like 300$
Yes but I'm guessing they'll be 200-250
Otherwise amd will literally not have a selling point
They wouldn't release overpriced cpus with overpriced mobos that only support overpriced ram with intel on their ass
This was the budget x670, msi a pro or something
Or no p pro
Idk idk
hoping that the upcoming 13600k is reasonably priced 🙏
rumored to be pricier than their 12th gen counterparts
if the 12600k is at 280, probably the 13600k will be at 300-330... but thats just my guess
They'll likely be sold below msrp soon enough anyways like with most gens
5600 literally half the 5600x msrp now lol
unless he wants to pay the early adopter tax ofc
I'm either going 7600x, 7700x, 13600k or 13700f
I'm def paying the early adopters tax
I've waited long enough
me 2
I'd rather pay $50 extra than wait another 2-3+ months
but i will play on my 4770 for some more time, unless amd release a powerful 7900xt below 1500
if not i will buy the 4090 and heck to the new pc for some time
😛
could be, after the reviews ofc
for now the gap between the 4080 and the 4090 is way too big, so i will regret that later down the line
but if the 7800xt end near or below the 4080 16gis, then is a no as well
if its higher, then i will consider it
but for now either 4090 or 6900xt
I doubt it, unless amd pulls a 40 series
Otherwise I could see 7800xt matching whatever they release below 4090
Mfw 7800xt matches a 6600xt
we will see, mcm means cheaper chips and the infinity cache can help a ton as well
😮
dont say that
Ye, it wouldn't surprise me to see 7800xt below 6900xt msrp
if the 7800xt is below 800usd then nvidia will be s***g their pants
They'd have to cut prices
Tho msrp for 6900xt was 1k
I'm expecting 7800xt at $800-900
Still a good price
hope that the 7800xt can beat the 4080 12g
and if it go near the 16gigs at that price... hmmm yummy
hey bacca, you are a bad influence
"settle"
You typed 4070 16gb wrong
True
Honestly, after the small issues with the 6800xt I'm not going to be going back to amd for a lil while. They weren't huge issues, just small annoyances
If it were between an amd gpu and overpaying for a nvidia gpu, I'd go amd ofc
Leaked prices for rx 7000 is that they will only be price bumped by up to 100$
Well I'd hope it beats essentially a 60 ti lol
Thinking in replacing the 60ti pato?
What was the issue? I just thought you didn't like the way they oc'd in drivers
Didn't like ocing, and had some odd issues with valorsnt
Itd randomly have some weird static, but it wasn't artifacting
Only in val too
And with the type of game val is, not something I wanted to deal with
Nope it's plenty most intensive game i play is cod cold war? On 1440p low
Especially considering the 3060 ti is already overkill for me
Fair, maybe would have been fixed with driver/val reinstall tho
So no point for me to keep it when it had issues with the main game I play
I tried both, didn't do anything unfortunately
Drivers themselves were perfectly fine too, amd drivers are good now
Weird
Ye, mightbe been something wrong with the card itself
But then again, no issues in anything else
Including timespy, even with just a vram oc and undervolt it beat the best 3080 10gb entry
Sweet
I've got a decent mobo, Asus B550f Wifi.
But would i need a new one for a Ryzen 9 7950X since it's a 7000 series?
Yeah and new ram
So you'll have to see what's the best choice
Probs 13700(k) and same ddr4
Impressive, and this is only under AIO and beating LN2 12900KS
Not to mention those 2nd place chips are binned out of literally hundreds
And benched by top 10 hwbot guys
Imagine ocing for games
Nerrrrdddd
Wait a minute what game do you even play where ocing is worth it on a 6800xt?
That's just a high score kinda desire at that point
Upgrade
Do et
I wasnt ocing for games
Just for high scores smh
Amd said it themselves that cinebench wasn't where their gains are
Only 9% on cinebench R23.
imagine ocing for gaming lulz
Exactly ye
I just don't understand returning a better GPU back because of overclocking lol.
Right, but that's stock behavior
The overclock was a steady 5.8ghz on water
A simple Corsair H115i (280mm) to be specific, so not even a huge one
As far as I can see based on leaks it'll be pretty even at the high end, with Intel winning multi threaded because of E cores
ah
The big win for AMD is they've committed to at least 3 gens on AM5 while this is the end for Intel 1700
but tbh im only interested in 13500 anyway
it's essentially 12600k but at a lower price point
of about 200 im guessing
and yeah, that's something to consider
intel only uses a socket for two gens
but at least is ddr4
True but that point will come down to final pricing for total platform cost
Budget Intel is still alder lake instead of the new stuff ya?
13600(non K or KF) and below
No e cores
Unless they changed that no?
ye
I'm guessing it gets close to 7600x on single core
While the amd loses on multi
yes, alder rebranded from 13600 and below
I just want more consumer socs
I've heard the e cores referred to as "cinebench asics", it's like their sole purpose is to make benchmark number go up
lmao
didnt bz call them that lol
I think it was him yeah
When you see the B45 Phenoms still being sold at some store on Newegg for over $100 while their Athlon 445 counterpart are sold for $20....
Prices on tech are on a reverse bell curve, they start off at msrp, drop in price for a few years (often ~5), then they start to rise in price again as they get more rare
Weird.
Why are you attacking me?
Nah 3060 ti already plenty and I'm in 4th year of college now so hell nah
What are some solutions to actually reduce ram usage?
I've checked some videos online but they seem to not do much, my pc idles at about 4/4.5GB
I'd be happy even if it drops to 3.5
Some people said to delete or limit/reduce paging files but do you guys recommend it?
Aren't they useful for Windows?
Also some tips to speed up my pc, boot takes a lot of time even if it's off a SATA SSD, same for reboot and turning off. Like removing or disabling background programs
Thanks in advance
Do this, minimise amount of background apps on statup
https://github.com/NeweggTechie/Windows-Troubleshooting-Utilities/wiki/How-To-Automate-Ram-Cleaner-with-Microsoft-RamMap
Make sure your xmp is enabled, is all i can say without knowing more
Always has been, 3200mhz c16
I probably have so much bloatware
Disk C: has 115GB free space
Is that enough to not slow down too much, right?
I can't check right now but is the ram cleaner the same "ram cleaner by rawr?
Also do you know if it's possible to create some commands so the ram cleaner runs when the pc goes in stand-by?
Yeah same thing
It depends on the drive
You can just get it to run hourly
what do you mean? 500mb/s write read
Or possibly an option for idle
No it depends on your drive model
my pc wasn't slow like this a long time ago
nah, it usually lags my pc fo 10 seconds, i'd like it to not happen while im gaming
Weird shouldn't really happen
I think there is an option for it to run on idle tho
Check the triggers tab
huh? when i launch the program it cleans up my ram down to 2-2.5gb, but i've always done it at startup or manually
Read the github, you can run it automatically with task scheduler
k
i have no idea where to find task scheduler
it doesnt show up with the start menu research
It will be there
If you can't find
can you also recommend any videos to actually remove startup programs rather than just "cleaning" them?
or tips
Task manager -> (advanced if not already) start up -> disable what you don't need on start up
Where most should be
already done that with all unnecessary programs
Can also do it in software or in task scheduler/some other places but apart from task manager I'd do in software it's easier for the ones not there
Show your arrow up from your task bar
they don't take up much cpu/ram, i also need them
iCue is basically the one that puts more load on cpu and ram, but its not much: not more than 150mb and 1% cpu
MB
Uninstall icue lel
Also you don't need riva tuner and whatever that fan one is
But yeah would use open rgb or signal rgb instead
i know what i need and what i don't, openrgb has problems with ram rgb (like some other programs), fan control i also need that and riva tuner + afterburner i use both of them daily
both give me problems with ram rgb and i noticed they used more cpu/ramthan icue
i use (used) open rgb to set my rgb backplate which runs off msi 3 pin rgb header
i'll show you the impact of riva tuner, fan control and icue at the moment
Ah i see
the total idle usage of all the apps is lower than 50MB, with low to no cpu usage. 50MB wont make a diff
but i dont care if the programs i need use only few MB
i sure can't remove these ones
if i need them i need them.
thats the point, you think that you need them, but you dont. you are only accustomed to those
I mean you can use bios for fan control but that's very little ram so fair
fan control: ramp up case fans for both gpu and cpu sensor
yeah or else i get 70C with front fans low to 6% speed
Also the less extensions in your browser the better
Or you could just make case fans more aggressive lol
i use about 6 chrome extensions but some of them get activated when i click them
1500 rpm all the time
speeeed
A lot "get activated when you click them" but that's just their actions they still take up resources unless disabled/uninstalled
but if chrome is closed it doesn't do anything ig
chrome is basically closed for 90% of the time
Sort ram high to low in task manager and send screenshot

idk if you also need this one
i was doing monitor color tests and i have a few tabs open
chrome be always eating up ram on all PCs
Actually chrome/edge best browsers for ram usage
I just want to kill most background tasks
Uninstall the stupid telephone pair app imo
huh? which one
Nvidia share? Do you have shadowplay on or something
Under Nvidia container
i do use geforce experience and i've only set up instant replay
Ah right
But yeah
Go into your settings then go to apps and uninstall have the windows garbage
Ohh actually
just paste iwr -useb https://git.io/debloat|iex into PowerShell
And run that
isn't phone pair app used by whatsapp web?
Nope that's a Windows only one
oke
And if you want, customise the list
But i just use default list
And disable telemetry helps too
is there something it may delete that i don't want to?
Xbox stuff?
Is the only one i can think of
Unless you like reading from the news app or something lol
already removed cortana (actually never configured it)
Can you send screenshot of the program can't remember what else is in it
Think there's a regkey one too
which program?
Finished my I9, it won't install windows which has me completely stumped. Built 3 exact duplicate systems, first two worked without a hitch, yet mine stops installing windows, yet a image from my old system boots up with no issues.
@vast meadow should i restart the PC after debloating?
The powershell one
okkk
You can do after reg key one as well tho
As in a different ssd?
Debloating + other manual pc cleaning helped a but, now it starts up with 3.6-.7 which is still lower than previous 4.1
But I need more
I can boot off an image of my Z390, which is on an NVME, but try to install to drive 0, it stops and says: Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation.
Hmm, try install with only 1 ssd plugged in (generally good practice anyway)
Going to see if I can disable slot first. I really don't want to have to take cards out to get to those NVME.
Worse comes to worse I'll take the other NVME out. Need sleep first.
@vast meadow while automating the ram cleaner in tsk scheduler, i have many config. options such as win 2008, xp, vista,... do i chose win10, right?
i guess the answer is just win10
Ye although doesn't really matter
Sleep helps a lot
Sadge
@vast meadow i guess i'll schedule ram cleaner for when i open certain apps or games. but there are many other options, and i have a doubt, at startup & at log-in: startup (as soon as windows starts the task does too?) while at log-in (whenever the user enters his profile/account?)
correct me if i'm wrong
Nah I'm happy can't wait to get out and anything more powerful is a waste of money
I think yeah
okay thanks
wow, task scheduler is so fricking useful
i wish i knew it existed before now
Yeah it's great
should paging files be deleted? they say it frees up ram but i guess its useful to have paging files
btw if you have more ideas on how to debloat or how to clean up as much ram as possible tell me. Thanks for the help
Paging file is dynamic
Think of it like
L1 cache
L2 cache
L3 cachee
Ram (l4 kinda)
Page file (l5 kinda)
Going from fastest and smallest size to slowest and largest size
3090 720p performance is great
Indeed
Especially with an FX 6300
Hmmmmm
Best cpu out there for it
@vast meadow i have set up ram cleaner for when pc is inactive & at startup, after I've done this it asks me for a password... Huh? It asks me to enter the user account information to run the task
You use my batch file?
yep
itll ask u for ur password once
to set up the task
and run it after that without
ive been using the ram cleaner for a long time but i never knew how to schedule it
so i basically insert a psw, run something that triggers the ram cleaner, it'll ask me for psw once and never again?
btw im talking about task scheduler, not admin permission / psw
I am aware
when you choose the option to set up the ram cleaner, itll ask you to put in admin password once
after that itll never ask again
I did update that option a lot and have a whole newly done batch file tho I do recommend you use that one instead
@scenic solar
admin psw? i mean his one
Well that only comes up if you edit the task in task sceduler
ooooh
okei
i should write it down
does it apply only for that task?
or all the others
what
if ur editing one task in task sceduler does it apply to all the others?
obv not
you can set up different task in task scheduler, ok, so i have to use this psw for the ram cleaner task
Its ur admin password
so unless ur creating a new admin account for every task, no
i dont have a admin psw on my pc
Thats not a thing you can do in windows
at least not easily
it forces the first account you create to be an admin account
im not really understanding then
what password do i have to set/use? my pc-admin psw?
i only have one account on my pc and i'm admin
Did you mark it as run with admin privileges?
w highest privileges
if i check that it should not ask me "you sure you want to run this application?" right?
Of what?
The psw is asking me to insert?
.
Huh
I'm stuck with that message where it asks me for psw to set up the auto-ram cleaner
If I exit I have to redo the settings
i don't know what to do, i have to leave home in 10mins, we'll eventually get back to this discussion in 24hrs
guys is 4 core 8 thread better or 6 core 6 thread better?
the 4790 is very outdated compared to the others
or 7th gen
architecture > number specs
it all depends on architecture
core count means nothing
you can't cross compare like that really
like is solid 6 core better than 4 cores with hyper threading thats what i wanted to know
9th gen i5 would beat that old i7
but if you put that same i5 against an i3 12100
the i3 would still win with 4c/8t
hyper threading on those?
oh
but yes, what foxy said
the architecture matters a lot
the 4th gen is way outdated
muti core
yeah i mean i was planning to built a 64 core opteron server
not with the 12100f around you dont
I took half of your advice. I noticed in bios, the Sabrent Rocket was showing up as two NVME drives, and only one of the two Kingston Fury drives were showing up. I think the motherboard has some kind of issue. Remember, I built a total of 3 AORUS Master Z690 systems. Same exact hardware. Only difference was my kids got I7, and I got I9. Bootup behavior is also different. For example, if I leave the portable drive connected on my kids systems, it boots into the install and grabs the drivers off the portable. With my system, it boots back into Windows 11 install setup, so I have to disconnect the drive and reconnect it after system boots up. Something I don't have to do with the other Z690s.
I'm going to look at my kids bios and see if by any chance, settings are different. The Sabrent rocket loads fine on their system.
Oh, before I forget, until I removed the Sabrent rocket, when I booted into Windows 11 off my emergency boot up drive that has an image from my z390, the computer would disconnect the USB drive until I unplugged and reconnected it. This stopped after removing the internal Sabrent rocket.
I don't want to send this MB back, so checking a few more things. I can't see that an I9 compared to my kids I7s is related to the Sabrent Rocket showing up as two devices. Runs fine on my kids systems.
Ohh, there is one thing I didn't think of. My MSI RTX 2060 RGB 8GB, where as my kids is 12GB with no RGB.
I made a fortune mining today!!! Then lost it all to a creeper. Ok, bad joke of the day.
I want a waifu mobo!
Literally looks the same with a decal change
Lol, ok slightly different
OOO LOOK
NO SECOND PCIE X16

Tmw z690 masterrace
@amber canopy hi
Sorry for bothering you but since you're x79/99 master i wanted to know if I need particular x79 motherboards for a 2011 socket E7-8880v3 (18core 36thr) I just found one for 20€ and I was thinking of buying it (it's basically the same as a R5 3600xt)
Do you recommend a lga2011 ddr3 or 4?
Oh no. You're gonna boost his x79/99 ego by calling him the master.
I mean... He's probably one of the few that understands the most about these platforms
Post the board you found
I still haven't chosen one, I was just looking around, do you recommend any?
I saw a few for about 60-70€
As far as I know, the only way to get those E7's to actually work is with those LGA2011-1 oem boards in some servers. They're relatively uncommon and super overpriced. They don't work in normal LGA2011 boards
What do you wanna build a lga2011 system @scenic solar for 🤨
So no x79 2011 LGA motherboard?
It was just an idea but it could be useful for a setup to host a small Minecraft server
But it's pretty much power inefficient so I may not even buy it
Yea you'd wanna go for a LGA2011 board. The 2011-1 boards are basically unobtanium
If you wanna build a cheap system for server hosting I'd go with x99 to be honest
give him one of yours 😛
The chips are a better value than their older counterparts at this point. And finding a good deal on a board isn't hard
bet
@amber canopy I checked on a website that shows CPU specs (more accurate than intel' ones) and socket is 2011-1 (R1)
Is 2011v1 socket same as 2011-1
2011 is the normal hedt/server socket for sandybridge and ivybridge i7s and xeons
Sure if you wanna call it that
2011-3 is the successor to lga2011
I have found a 2011 v3 motherboard (2 CPU) but I'm not sure if v3 stands for socket 2011-3 (if there's one) or for v3 CPUs compatibility
Yes the vendor probably means 2011-3
What board are you looking at
What country are you in
A x99 from AliExpress
Oh okay
Yea I'm not sure what the 2nd hand market is like there for x99 boards. So maybe the Chinese boards would be a better option, idk
Let's say most tech products are like +30% the cost of US ones
So yes, Chinese motherboard would be better
So if the system would mainly be for server use, I'd get an x99 tf if it doesn't seem absurdly overpriced. Check aliexpress prices for the 2696v3, and 2678v3
: (
What about it
What's 2011-3 for? E5?
Buy a used 5900x or something + cheapo am4

E5 and some i7s yea
Okk
How are current gen or couple gen old parts priced in Italy right now? 2nd hand or new
I'd only try going with x99 if you needed something absurdly cheap. And that's assuming the pricing where you are is even good
Far spreading the potato gospel
sus
I wouldn't trust that haha
https://www.reddit.com/r/homelabsales/ has a large EU scene
True
Only the best hardware
Everything has not really good prices (for example they still selling used 3060 for 350 minimum)
Let me check for some x99
Are all x99 boards 2011-1?
Or are there different sockets
No x99 boards are 2011-1
Again, 2011-1 is for the e7 stuff
Actually maybe somewhere out there are some 2011-1 x79 - as that's just the chipset
But that's not what you're looking for
All x99 boards are gonna have the 2011-3 socket, but not all 2011-3 boards (like the Chinese ones on aliexpress) are gonna have the x99 chipset. Though it doesn't really matter
It's confusing - but 2011 and 2011-1 are different, 2011 is the one you want
Oh god I can't find 2011-1 motherboards, I guess I'll just go for different Xeon & 2011-3
You almost certainly do not want to buy anything with a 2011-1 motherboard
The cost effective play here is probably used am4 +5000 series ryzen or some cheap b series intel board +12400f or similar
2011-2? I guess that's not a thing...
You mean -1
yes
Maybe I should wait for this server/system with Xeon CPU... I should first check the "consumption" of the Minecraft server I want to host and see if it's worth going for that many cores
You'll have better performance on any 5000 series vermeer ryzen
Gonna need wrx80 for that
Pfft
Nvm, this is a bit better https://www.itcreations.com/lenovo/lenovo-thinksystem-sr950-server
So basically lga 2011-1 is probably big ass motherboards with multiple CPU config? Something I may not even find on the market?
Probably the ones included with big servers
But what's the actual difference in the sockets, R1 & R2? Pinout? Because I guess they should both be 2011 pins
@amber canopy do you have a small list of xeons with many cores and good frequency? I did a Xeon list a long time ago but I didn't even know they used different sockets than standard ones
The 2011-3 xeons I'd check are the 2667v3, 2697v3, 2696v3, 2678v3. The last two support ddr3 which is why I recommended them with the x99 tf, since that board does too and ddr3 rdimms should be pretty cheap on aliexpress
Ok, but are 2011-1 sockets for big motherboards in servers like dəll's and IBM stuff you may find?
Yes - and to clarify 2011 and 2011-1 are different
Yes
Standard 2011 is 2011-0
While the other ones are for those "more powerful" processors like i7 & xeons
Ok got it
Yos bought one of those to bench then try and use as a general use server https://hwbot.org/submission/4923571_yosarianilives_cinebench___r20_4x_xeon_e7_8895_v2_14543_cb
im lurking and following this conversation and i am so lost lmao
Does yos still have that system
Yes
He might
Dang then he should sell it to me
It's $1500 of space heater
yes
@gritty crow Post pics
Can it run Microsoft paint?

@scenic solar did you know my x99 daily beats forks's daily
Maybe in power draw if I run stock
Jealous of my baller rig
i have a 360 lian li galahad on a 5800x (overkill) but im running 84 c is that to high of a temp?
84C doing what?
ok did cinebench
seems fine
got a score of 15326
Yeah that's fine, it's one of the hottest chips on the market currently
ok just was making sure when installed the aio i had to clean the paste off and just was checking temps to see if was going to be ok

Hey guys I’m currently upgrading my 4pc. I have 4 slots for ram sticks. I have new 16x2 sticks should I remove my old 4x2 sticks or just add the new ones
I wish I could take a picture but I’m not a high enough level I guess
Yes
So now my pc won’t start not really sure what to do
I have only the 16x2 inserted and my display, mouse, and keyboard wont start either
Reset CMOS
Which CPU do you guys think will be better? 13900K vs 7950X.
We have as much of an idea as you do
Better at what exactly? From what I'm seeing they'll trade blows with Intel winning multi core by just having more cores
Gaming and Rendering.
It'll be a toss up I think when looking at both
Just gotta wait and see
A few world records have been posted on hwbot with a 7950X already though
I remember I'd never buy a motherboard unless it had 6 slots. Now a days, trying to get a good one your lucky to find 4, which isn't a big issue since the sound system is built into the motherboards now, and Wi-Fi, so not to bad.
By the way, the Aorus Master z690, after updating the bios, broke the ability to shut off an NVME slot. After reboot, they all go back on again.
6 pcie slots? In what world would you need 6 slots
Yes but sound card -1
WiFi card -1
Gpu -2
Idk
Like 25 years ago maybe
A lot of isa slots
😶
Yea these days a consumer pc barely use anymore than the gpu card
Not PCI. I used to need a slot for sound blaster pro, one for Roland MT32 interface, hauppauge TV , Wi-Fi, ide pin drive.
I mean there's boards like this but that's pci
Idk what roland m32 and haupage tv is
Roland Mt 32 mixed with sound blaster pro to this very day adds realistic sound to games that support it. It was a huge thing with Sierra Games and OSI Ultima series.
Idk literally a motherboard my grandad had lying around it's from like late 90s or early 2000's
My old brother had a sound blaster back in the day
Like 20 years ago
Ancient technology
opinions on more expensive motherboards? like rog’s z690-e
they're needless for almost all of use cases
unless you need the extra io
there's no need for going that expensive
Not sure if your buying for gaming/Designing. If you like running your own servers and just playing, then I suggest Gigabyte AORUS Z690 with an I7 of 3.0 ghz+ and 32gb ram. If your into heavy graphic design, with multiplayer in mind, then go with 64gb ram (do not use all 4 ram slots, go with 32x2 ddr5 or 16x2 ddr5, but under any circumstances from what many say, use all 4 ram slots) oh, and I9 Processor if what you are doing can use the extra cores.

Decided to transfer my spindle drives to new system, to discover not only was the case used, the person who returned it, stole the 3.5 bay from it and trying to find the proper name so I can buy a replacement keeps showing me NAS systems.
depends on country and budget for the most part
ye
But I don't think anyone needs 64 gigs unless they're doing something crazy
Even game dev only really needs 32
I went with 64 because 32 came too damned close last year with one project and all the utilities I had to use.
The Thermaltake case, knew it was a return after finding the standoffs all stripped. Was simple to replace them. Wasn't till I went to put the drives from old system into new case, that I realized it can only hold 3, then looking it up, realized someone stole 1 of the 2 hard drive bays. I'd have taken the old rack from the older Thermaltake, but the rails don't match up with the glass case, and looking up drive bays seems to only give me NAS systems.
Hard drive cage. Found it!
Waste of money
If you're going for like a 2.1k or something it makes sense
Ryzen 7000 reviews are up
The igpu performance makes me excited for the rdna 3 apus.
But they for sure make the Mendocino CPU's in budget handhelds meh.
The iGPU is still only RDNA 2 but it is still better than the top Intel one
No it's not
The 2 CU's is okay at 65 watts.
But the handhelds will be limited to 15watts
It's not what? Better than Intel?
At 15 watts it's not.
Well yeah these are just the basic models to be used in the same way as the non-F Intel ones, the actual APUs with more cores are coming soon
That's what I'm saying...
The 610m in the Mendocino and 7000(non g) is like Vega 3.
Oh even worse. The 7600x is 105w tdp. So the performance in toasty bros video is even more disappointing.
Not the cpu^ the igpu is the disappointment lol
yummy clocks and cache
