You're not the only one for sure. 5000/6000 series cards aren't bad for what they are, though.
In the past AMD was really bad, so I could see that impression influencing still today. Once Lisa Su took over, AMD went from near bankruptcy to record breaking.

I use a 5700xt for a racing sim and I'd like to upgrade it to a 6800xt/6900xt for better 1440p/4k performance.
