Listing said 2080ti and so does bios but thats obviously poppycock
Yep
So trying to let it identify as a 450 so it can at least play fortnight without overestimating its lowly powers
It COULD be a 650 but I doubt it
So thats the story. You have way to much faith in me @livid idol 😆
Which is perfectly reasonable, I changed my old 760 2GB for a 1660S in January 2020 (I assembled my PC in January 2015, so it was also 5 years old).
You'd have to ID it by board layout, those fakes even have fake coolers usually
Yeah, its pretty easy to spot a fake by its cooler.
Rule of thumb, if it has the 2006 Nvidia logo on it and they say its a 3090 maybe dont buy it
Yeah ik it's, i only wanted a 2060 super or 5700xt but to give up on that lol
Saturday Shuffle with 3060s and a 3090. All prices jacked
And you have to bundle with overpriced motherboards
I just want want to upgrade my 11 yo gpu 😦
Big oof
@hoary sleet I know what ya mean, I finally did it last April from a 7770Ghz 1GB to a 5500XT 8GB
Yup. Im in a bad spot right now. I refuse to buy anything over the price of the card msrp + tariff markup out of principle, but literally cannot play much on either my MacBook or PC. Any my PS4 is starting to crap out on me.
went from those 2 card to the Pulse 5500XT 8GB
Biggest mistake I made was waiting for a 30-series.
my stimulus check came that end of april and everything was going "out of stock" to "in stock" with the click of a mouse, now its almost always "out of stock" or scalped
I knew waiting would not be smart with a pandemic looming
Yup almost everything is scalped. I am thinking about subscribing to a game service just so I can play something
I did. The problem is the dreaded HDMI controller issue
Not a trivial fix for someone
I have soldering exp but this is above anything I am capable of
ah, so that is why it wont go to PS4 on my tv at times or just a random issue
ya i have soldering exp as well, even modded a few ps2's back in the day an that was tricky
Yeah if you have an early model that is a common problem
ah i had a luanch one and it was doing some odd things at times, then i sold it and got a new one a yr later
The part is cheap. Replacing it is a nightmare. Contacts the size of a hair
TBH il wait for the PS5 till it comes in black not needing to be changed around
Yeah doing the same here. Was going to do that and sell the PS4 at huge discount or give it to a kid/family who can't afford a system.
oh il keep the ps4 since it is always nice to have a back up gaming system that is still common place
Look at us talking consoles in the GPU channel lol
well it uses a GPU
well more to the point of a APU in sorts
1st amd apus sucked arse
well technically it is a APU not GPU since the GPU part is part of the CPU from what i recall on the PS4, might be the same for the PS5
ive seen alot of the stuff on the ps5, but havent recently
shuffle starts early today, 9 AM PST
until 12 PM PST
I love how if you want a graphics card on the Newegg shuffle you have to buy a 200 motherboard
that nobody wants
it is still a better deal than paying scalper prices... i build systems for people, so I will eventually use the board in a system.
God damn it, so sick of this bundling BS. I'm sitting on a brand new build that's castrated by the GPU, I don't need a damn mobo
Oof, i guess that's why ppl are recommending getting gpu first because of wait
Yes, get GPU then build rest of system. Or use iGPU in the meantime
Unless you go amd 😢 where's the APUs amd cri
a shuffle on a Saturday?
Amd has APUs? Any processor ending in a G has an APU.
Yeah but the CPU performance compared to Intel is bad
i got a cheap $27 gt710 to use until i got the gpu for the system I just built...
What vintage and i meant the 5000 series apus
That's pretty decently deal tbh
Ok nvm yea
I aint gonna get one but would be nice for users that dont need a gpu for anything more than showing display
yeah newegg has some refurb msi gt710 cards a few weeks ago. it is also the cheapest card to use in a hackintosk
Is $480 dollars a decent price for a RTX 2060 Founder Edition?
No
Or the office of mythical msrp of rx 6700xt
Yea for $480 you can get a 1070ti which other than active ray tracing from testing it seems slightly better.
The msrp is only the founders edition and possibly gigabyte eagle and evga xc3
It’s Nvidia
Ehhhh not much difference
Yes ik?
But 3070 is not available
Best buy but you gotta battle bots for 3070 fe
You gotta wait for drops
Reason: Bad word usage
Thought it might be something larger nvm then. If its not that much active ray-tracing would be better than minor performance difference.
More realistic is getting a 3060 ti from shuffle/micro center
Mhm. Waiting sucks but its better than paying over MSRP imo
Well 2060 can't really handle rtx well in anything but yeah
Well like scalper over MSRP prices
Well +1-200 is fine imo as some aftermarket cards would be up to 100 over founders edition card anyway then an extra "tax" of 100 for high demand
You'll end up selling it for a lot less
Yea. This market isnt changing for 9-12 months sadly
I need to remplace my 570
1 year min,
Who knows. We shall see.
But 480 is way too much for 2060
Experts say 2022 Q4 min
I was ready to pay $800 but at this point $480 is fair for me
$800 for a 2060... where
Everywhere
Well... yea... thats scalpers not the retailers
Yeah well I got scammed on eBay luckily I got refunded days later
Well yea people take advantage of the shortage. Do all my deals locally, just easier
gross
Crazy
You haven't been able to buy gpus on Amazon since November
Yea I mean... I had a 580 8gb but got a system for $600 with a 1070ti.
Little upgrade and I'll just resell the system
Yup, was building pc for gf and the 1650s we got was faulty had to return and the everything started dipping, luckily we found a rx 580 8gb for around €200
Yea. Just yesterday picked up a combo
Ryzen 5 2400g, 16gb 3600mhz Corsair, and an RX 5500-XT for $150 some nice resell there.
Why would they put 3600mhz on a 2400g 😢
No clue. I just bought it
Fair
🤮
Exactly. This market sucks for new people trying to get into PCs
yep I recently built a pc with a r5 3600 but couldn't find any gpu even ones from 1-3 generations ago that weren't a ripoff so I just bought a gt 710 I found on Newegg for 40 bucks so my pc could actually work
When you finally get a new GPu it will feel like a new pc.
I hope GPUS get back in stock soon. Not being able to finish my first build is murder waiting on the one part I don’t have.
Not for a while, 1 year at least I'd say
I love when I receive answers to comments I posted hours ago and notice those very answers hours after X'D
And 1660S seemed to be the most reasonable choice for me considering my budget and the overall pricing in my country, but also considering the i5 4690K was the best I was likely to get on ebay for (again) a reasonable price. (Not to forget about the new monitor I had to buy.)
Lol big oof
I thought kids said "big oof"
Well you can always upgrade monitor later
It was not an upgrade, that's the problem X'D
It was no option.
Ahh
Why would I spent so much in a new CPU and GPU if I did not plan on buying a monitor to replace the broken one ? 😂
BTW, that was exactly this "scene" I had in mind when I said "I thought kids said 'big oof'".
I didn't realize it was broken just thought it was old
I thought so lol
Well well well...
The former one was better
This one I have got sucks.
The best black I can get is some kind of 80% grey.
For the first few years of my old pc i used an old dell monitor i had lying around that only had vga and hdmi and only like 2 years later upgraded to a 144hz aoc one
I have a 1280*1024 (I guess ?) lying around. And I had it even when I was about to upgrade my rig and when the old screen was dead, but it hurts looking at.
Reading simple text would give you a stratospheric headache in like 3 seconds, clock in hand.
Oof
so last night i got a drop of water on my 2080 ti ( custom loop) and it dripped onto the nvlink finger but there was a cover on it- I did not realize at the time but a little bit of water got on the pcb- now the card has no display output- i tried cleaning the card by getting the residue off with an exacto knife and im using ipa now which i will test in a few hours- what else can i do to fix it/ is it fixable?
Ask it on general chat
take the gpu out of your system and put on window sill or something to try let it fully dry mb
yea i'm just wondering tho is it beyond repair at this point
no way to tell until your take out of sytstem and try
wow he is still on that from last night
What's a good price for an evga 3060 ti ftw3 ultra?
Your soul tbf
look up msrp and add about 100-150$
^
oh okay thanks
it already was powered on
yup
ive narrowed it down to the gpu being functional but no display output
How do you reckon that
basically when i try a different card (titan xp and an rx 580) I get the same sequence of post codes and a display out as when i do with the 2080 ti but theres no display out
also the oled displays the cpu temp which means armoury crate has to be open which only opens once its booted into windows
and once it does theres display on any gpu but the 2080 ti
and the blue light on the 2080 ti flashes which means its functioning as intended (zotac)
yes I am
Not you............
ok idc
Welp, I give up. I've tried for a while to get a new gpu but I am throwing in the towel. I am only saying it on here cause maybe someone will feel the same way as I do now. With Scalpers and Miners, it feels impossible. I even made a bot myself to counter the other boting but I feel like it's pointless and it's best to wait till things are actually in stock again (who knows when that will be?). The newegg shuffle feels like a waste of time to me since it's all over priced anyways. GG
Understandable but tbh I'm glad you didn't get any using bots (unless it was only stock checking) its not right and it's not like it takes much time to enter the shuffle
I used it on the nvidias website and I didn't mind it, but I honestly just want to go to a store and purchase it like I use to and I just think it's all really stupid. I'll have to just wait either for stocks to comeback or next generation
heck people are just scalping the shuffle when they get picked
right after the emails when out someone on the instockalert reddit posted the screen shot of the purchase and said highest bidder wins
sucked because it was what i wanted and the scalper got it...like everything else
Yep saw a guy on fb selling the gpu/mobo combo he just got on shuffle. Sad
See that's why I do the suffles tbh, but I'd sell them for $50 more than I get it for. Don't need to make that much money but people who can actually afford the cards should get them for closer to MSRP
see if the 2080 will mine. if the video out is dead, you could recoup the cost by mining.
i am still trying to get a couple of 3060s to put in my kids computers. then i will sell their old rx480 gpus
Only way to buy a GPU these days without hassel is in a pre-built system
^ Im shocked to see a 3090 going for 2.3k on newegg
Glad I got one last year
damn thats wild
i see the strix 3090s typically 3400-4000 on amazon and ebay :/
i feel like 2.3k is actually really close to msrp on it?
Water cooled is like 2200 as well
thats scalper range man
@onyx orbit Thats what a lot of people are doing these days
pulling GPU out of prebuilt
Even watercooled 3090 shouldnt be over 2000
pretty sure msrp on most cards besides fe is 2100-2300 looking at listings on bb and newegg
kingpin was originally like 2.1k, now it's standard 3090 range except for fe
Nvidia doesn't sell any cards on their site, best buy do the founders edition cards
Thats because the prices there arent msrp look on evga site you can see 3090 ftw3 for 1800
Do you think any cards are really going into PCs at close to MSRP these days? Looking at OfferUp now and the number of GPU postings takes up 50% of my feed anymore
Nothing will be msrp again until at least 2022 Q4 at least and even then MSRP will probs be raised a bit especially if you're in the US because of the chinese tarrifs
I get that nothing will be MSRP but I am feeling that we have hit a point of insanity where even if a normal person gets a GPU at a decent price, they are much more likely to try to sell it for 2-3x right away.
It is all to tempting and easy to turn good luck into quick cash
I getcha but economics yano, demand is greater than supply so price goes
If you're looking to upgrade your whole pc/ building a new one your best bet to get a gpu is actually prebuilts
It does to a point, but you got to wonder, when does it become a situation where more people are hodling trying to sell 3080s for 2k when no one is buying them anymore
I thought about pre-builts, but I just can't bring myself to do it...
agreed, in malaysia the price is crazy because of the cpu or gpu
Reason: Bad word usage
but the other parts are bad
Tbh some of them on newegg are pretty good deals
Yup thats why I avoid. I would rather build a well balanced machine rather than having to buy the prebuilt and replace everything but the GPU
Some of them have decent off the shelf parts tbf
Unless mining goes down, good luck finding decent priced GPUs. The production will never keep up if gamers that use them for playing will compete with people that use them to make money.
anyone knows if there is such a thing as 1650 6gb for laptop?
Is there a GTX 1650 with 6GB of RAM?
Even the super has 4GB
mobile ones as well. OC and Super variants too
I would try the 1660 Ti? If you HAVE to have 6GB of RAM
the mobile 3080 has more vram than desktop iirc
i want my egg now, its new right?
Granted its just 10x easier to look it up then ask here lol
It's all good. That's why this server exists no :P?
It is but most of the time the questions that get asked are simple google questions.
Yeah, fair. Sometimes though best to even ask the simplest question. The internet sure can give you a mix of info 😛 At least if you get a mix here, it's live and people can jump in
Tbh miners aren't the problem, ofc there a small bit of it but it's mainly just huge demand from gamers especially cuz of covid
Yeah only the 1660's have 6gb
Yep^
And the factories are already operating at 100% for ages
Don't forget the scalpers
They're only scalping because of the high demand that's how they make their money
If the demand wasn't as high it wouldn't be worth their while
Imo, they're still not helping the consumers (us,gamers) get that only 1 that we want though.
What is the next step up from the AMD Radeon RX 570?
Like a good upgrade or the next up in line? An rx 580 would be the next step up in the series but if you mean for an upgrade, just keep your 570 for a while unless you get lucky with a 30 series card and you need a budget of at least 400 with thay basically
Thanks
Well ofc not but they can only make the money because of demand, technically they're not taking them out of supply their just reselling from way more so :/
I am not sure, because I doubt the demand has skyrocketed, because the economy went down everywhere. So while some people wanted more because they were stuck at home due to GPUs, some people had to cancel non essential spending because jobs were lost, if they weren't lost, people started having issues with paying mortgage, loans, rents, bills. Everywhere.
Look, a quote from an asus manager: https://prnt.sc/119puzi
No demand issues.
i just saw a facebook listing
There are def demand issues
with a guy selling a laptop with 1650 6gb
PC sales up 26% last quarter
It is, demand has skyrocketed because everyones staying at home and stuff, and the upper class economy is actually doing better it was before covid, just the lower classes are doing a lot worse because the industries like restraunts etc are closed in a lot of places
Factories are running at 100%
The demand is insanely high of else GPUs wouldn't be selling out anymore
nVidia shipped 9 million GPU's last year
^
It's incorrect 1650 super is only 4gb still
Well let's hope the price will go down sometimes in the near future. I really doubt tho that demand is the issue, I rather see it as producers riding the wave, making more money while producing less than required.
26% increase in demand isn't an issue?
For 2, 3 fold prices? No
I mean, nVidia told their suppliers to increase prices according to demand as well
Lemme see if I can find it
Problem is, the increase in GPU prices is above and beyond the Tariff imposed
anyone know where to get 3080 by any chance?
Newegg shuffle or best buy drop
where are you from
norway
too bad :/
how long i can expect it to be like this?
If you're in Norway, check if nvidia has a norway site and see where they sell the founders edition, then stalk there, I'd personally recommend looking up stock checking bots that check tech stores in norway
im searching for a 1660 and is so expensive
Read the discussion that was just had, miners are a small part of the problem
That's because it's a scalper on amazon or something selling 1660s for like 600
I heard it takes 10 years to build a factory to reduce bottleneck. they are building 2, but long time until finished probably
yes
5-10 years yes
@mellow seal https://www.nvidia.com/nb-no/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3080/ look at the stores here
I keep waiting for this to end
much time
I got lucky and I have a 3060 due to arrive tomorrow. I plan to use it, not sell it.
You're gonna be waiting 1.5 years min for stuff to start going back to nornal
anyone in illinois
supposidly evga black 3070 7 in stock
sorry xc3
but at westmont, prob ppl waiting outside tho
microcenter
I know I keep getting told the 3060 isn't the best value... but I won it in the shuffle and I be tired of waiting. I certainly don't want to wait another year and a half. I've already had my plans on hold for nearly a year.
kinda sucks 3070 is 629, when launch asus tuf 3080 was 699
prob would take a year for evga waitlist
It's just not worth upgrading to If you have a 2060 or Can get a 3060 ti but still good gpu
They just said in Illinois
629 is pretty good tbh
Like it's an AIB card too, they're usually 50-100 more anyway
I currently have a laptop 1060. I think I'll probably notice the improvement.
Definitely
Man, I bought that laptop right when 1060 laptops came out. It served well, for a long time. But it is now dying slowly.
Nice, my bro still uses an i3 laptop that i got like 7-8 years ago
Do it
in this market, a card is a card
dang straight
My 1070 is way bottlenecking my 10700k lol but the future isn't looking bright for cards.
Guess you're gonna have to live with the 1070 tho, not a bad card really
Yep will do 1080p just fine
do rx6000 gpus work properly in blender?
Yes
At this point, any GPU you can get your hands on at a price near MSRP is a miracle.
depends on use case but I would say yes
are there any shops or technichains you would recommend for fixing a broken gpu? my 2080 ti might have a shorted mosfet that gives power to the ram chips and I dont know if the ram chips are okay or if the other mosfets that give power to the ram are okay- i am in NJ, USA
Call pc repair shops around you and ask them if they could fix the problem.
@high hollow
Probably actually, I would guess their repair team would be more familiar with gpu repair than the average repair shop
You should call them and ask
kk
Yep but amazon has to delete it
Can I get some help real quick
If there are any techies
@spice prawn
Ok
Well
My pc, just randomly keeps shutting down.
Like sometimes it 30 seconds after boot
And sometimes it like 30 minutes.
Not sure what to do..
Never happened before.
Corsair 750 Rmx gold
Good psu..
But idkk
Yeah and it's rood to tag ppl if you're not talking to them already and stuff
No?
I tagged naed before he doesn't get upset.
Well mb not but it's generally considered bad to ping ppl randomly on disc
Anyway, are all your cables secure? None loose
Its been fine for 4 months..
All of a sudden it just retarts..
Restarts
What do you think broke?
In the psu
To cause it to restart
Maybe a cap?
Waitt a min..
I also have my ram in slots a 2 b 2
My mb said to put it in a1 b1
Howevet
It was running fine until like a week ago.
I can try tk switch the ram?
That might have caused something.
Even though it's been like this for 4 months.
It has to be the ram or psu.
Or something in the software.
All drivers up to date.
generally, us techs get warned when we get given the role, that we will be tagged a lot. And for me at least, its not something that matters :)
@sterile parcel have at it, i am currently trying to eat :)
I9 9900k, auros z390 pro wifi, aorus 5700xt, Seagate barracuda 2tb, Kingston 256 gb ssd
i get dmed often at random
still i good idea to reseat the power cables no harm
Yea.
fair enough lol
also @spice prawn thoughts on 1% chocolate milk vs whole chocolate milk
today i just learned whole chocolate milk exists
and i think its way better
you mean skim milk based chocolate milk?
yeah
Ok
like, what most chocolate milk is
milk is rank anyway :/ i stand by my opinion
i like it, but IF i use it, i just mix it with the whole milk i drink a bunch of everyday
interesting
mb just try reseating it
Check the front panel
Yea
my diet has a lot of cream/butter/milk in it. So .. yeah
nice
For what?
well if you have it wired wrong the power button will restart your pc instead of boot it
Okay
well it was working for a while
And now just randomly the power button restarts it?
also the chef background etc does mean i have a bit of a weird relationship with those 3 ingredients
Just shooting ideas
like to double check it
fx. i have close to 3kg of butter in the fridge at the moment
Its either the ram, or it might be the restart cable coming from the front if the case?
Getting tripped off?
fantastic
I can take out the restart wire
That might work.
Idk how but maybe it's tripping the system
@brisk flame you saw the pizza stuff the other day right?
oh yeah
👀 whyyy
i love homemade pizza like that
Idkkk
because i eat a lot of butter, and it was on offer
ohh if its on offer then
For you its butter
For me its milk
Lol
Naed any idea what the problem is?
my family (except me ) drinks sooooooo much milk oml, my bro drinks like 95% milk i swear and my parents have tea all the time so fridge constantly full of milk lol
Lol
I have 10 bags
Or milk rn
my normal consumption of milk is about 7-9 litres of whole milk/week, 2 packages (250g/each) of butter per week and about 0.5litre of cream
bags of milk!!!!!!!!!!!
bags
10 bags last my family like a week.
where do you live
the above amounts are for me alone.
Lmao
by yourself damm 👀 tbh probs same as my bro 12 litres of milk will last like 4 days in my house
Lolol
we only have in cartons and in plastic like hard plastic
So naed how can I fix my problem ?
Ahh
start pulling parts until it doesnt happen anymore
....
that might sound like a joke
Pull parts
but it isnt
"something" in your current system is the cause of it
its just a question of figuring out which part it is
Ok
do you have access to another machine?
No
Just one
Do you think it could be the restart button??
Omg
If a small amount of liquid
Fell into the front panel
no
crucial part of IT work, turn off/tear apart and back on/together again XD
its most likely a power related issue
correct
the problem/challenge is figuring out which part is actually unhappy
I mean corsair 10 year warranty coming in clutch if its a psu issue.
could be psu or motherboard not distrubuting power to the components properly
idk but its a possibility
i would suggest the following:
Unplug the PSU completely from everything.
Tripping up
and then double check that everything is properly seated
then attach the PSU again. and see if that works
My ram is in b2 a2 from the very start..
However, the mb recommends a1 b1
So maybe...
Woth a driver update
It is causing the system to trip?
nothing that is logically sound, is a bad suggestion for fixing your system
because it could be just about anything
Rip
if you mean i bios update i doubt it would fix
correct
technically it might fix, but bios updates are generally not the solution for something like what you are describing
and with that, i am out for the night. Best of luck.
I been trying for months to buy a GPU, well thank you newegg!
Not really the 3gb 1060 uses a weaker core, basically a 1050 ti
Y’all think a ten gig rx 580 is worth it for 300$
there is no 10GB rx580
Wait wrong card. Think they met 8 gig
still not worth
240$ absolutely max
What I meant was, an update had caused the ram to not be working right in the opposite slots that the motherboard had wanted.
So they are supposed to be placed in a1 b1
Both sticks are place in a2 b2
It was working fine, but maybe an update to something had caused the ram to do something to the system.
I meant the above ^
No placing them in the "wrong slots" will still work just not the fastest speeds you'll get
But that depends on the motherboard.
Some boards don't even boot if you put them in the opposite slots.
It boots.
Ik
No
No thermal issues.
no
I don't
It can also just be the reset button being faulty?
Because when it restarts, the mb lights and exhaust fans lights are still on.
The entire timne
Yea I will do that.
What is with people never knowing where tf the dollar sign goes
So
Because i cba putting it before because i was just going to say 240 without dollar sign but it really doesn't matter
I didn't mean what I said in a mean way
Also, I have tons of power outages now for some reason, would that damage the power supply overtime?
Yes.
Actually in Ireland it's in front just i think some places in mainland europe behind but I'm also on phone and effort of going back after already putting the price but yeab lol
Ik, ik it's wrong lol
Indeed
Well actually Ireland loves the eu lol
It should still boot tho because it really doesn't matter apart from perf which ones you have it in
Uwu indeed
True
But, it could also be one faulty ram stick?
Could be
Only problem is I can't right now.
I'm doing something else./
So not able to open up my pc rn
rip
Ahh well try later then, i thought you already tried just 1 stick but mb not
Not impossible for the cpu to be the problem tbh could be anything
hm ok
Has anyone ever had a problem with MSI cards bending from gravity and weight?
bending??
Yea! I have a MSI RX 580 and the board is bending all around the edges! Everywhere except the PCI-E port
jesus
Yea!
Nope my gf has an rx 580 and it's fine and i had an r9 380 similar design and it's never had problems
i'd fix that asap
And my r9 was in there for 5.5 years
maybe put something under it for now to prevent sag
I was thinking of making a brace to hold it up but was afraid of it shorting or something like that.
Do anyone make a case where the motherboard would be on the opposite side? That way it'd be flipped over?
I put a pic in the build-pics in case your curious lol
Look up anti sag brackets
They make them specifically for this purpose
Oh bet! Thank you! I need like 4 of them haha
reasonable price
What a rip off
That’s rough
Not even a 3060 ti, just regular 3060 cri
Just pain
The charger looks reficolous
So why do it be 10 grand
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hmmmmmmm. I’m sure the seller is on something then
Probs
It has a desktop cpu, 128Gb ram and 24tb of nvme storage. That might be why
Yeah
3090s are lowkey easier to get than 3080s smh
My brother just ordered a prebuilt with a 3090
Yep
It took 2 weeks. If we went with the 3080 it would take 4-6 weeks
Im still waiting for 3080ti release hence why I sold my 3080s
Yeah.
Dumb
I don’t know. Usually they start updating the products.
It seems to have Saturday’s poor souls bundle of crap shuffle
I have a 3070FE as my temporary rn
I have a 2080ti ftw3 ultra
looking to spend no more than 200 for a gpu for 1080p gaming that'll will hold me for a year or so til the market can go back to normal, which card should I be looking for
I’m about to make it a evga 2080+ 360 hybrid
Ah smart. I already covered my friends with 3060tis and 3070s
Bad idea tbh
Not sure what to do with my personal 3070 besides mining with it and framing it
Ah too late now lol
Rx 580 if you're lucky
I meant the 3080 ti bit lol
lowest I've seen rx 580s go for is like 300
my friend sold his rx 580 for 120 about a year back and he regrets it so much lol
I sold a 1660ti Saturday for $510
how much my 2080ti can be sold at?
got 2 of them
attached with EKWB Phoenix MLC water cooling block
Anyone know if a 3060 is worth it
Mainly play warzone
anything below 4k 1080Ti can manage well, the price tag also not bad comparing to 3060
You can try a 1050ti
1080ti is like 700 bucks
Uhhh last time I looked at them they were 1000
I am talking about from eBay
miner tried to get new 3000 series and sold alot of 1080ti
saw someone selling a 1080ti strix for 300 and as soon as I was about to hit him up it got sold
Nice snag for them
I found some on ebay for 800 now
but dont worry
end of this year
the price will drop
if I am able to go back my country I will bring over 10 of those GPU and sell
alot people would do that
it is a nice time to sell GPU but not buying it
I got 10 PC back home with 1080ti
=,=
for my ralatives to do excels and words for their daily work

For word and excel? Sheeee
their kids want to play games
MMO game
so I built those for them
eventhough the iGPU can handle the graphic lol
ya he dont need that 1060ti
Still only will matter for perf unless one of your slots are dead, try 1 stick at a time in each slot, then swap if no boot
Yea.
1060ti? There is no 1060ti iirc, the 1060 6gb already fills the price point that a 1060ti would possibly fill.
1660ti?
Maybe who knows
Also
To take out the gpu.
Do I need to flip the tab?
Forgot how I did it last time lol
Yes you'll need to hold the locking tab out of the way
Or just pull it out
The locking tab on the PCI slot right?
Yes
Got the gpu out.
Trying to figure out why my pc keeps restarting randomly btw @livid idol
Did you check event viewer?
Usually there's an error right before a forced shut down that's logged in there
Built into windows
Right click the start button and it's right there
I checkered reliability
Checked*
Just says unexpected shutdown
Should I put gpu back in and check that forst?
First*
Was just about to switch ram.
No you can keep doing what you're doing, check it later
I have a feeling it could have also just been the reset sw
I'd try one stick of ram as well. One might be faulty
Ok
xD all good just clarifying. Mainly for the guy that said that you didnt need a 1060ti.
Sure. That's a good thing to have for troubleshooting.
I can also try resetting cmos
Not likely a problem but you can do that too
Try single stick of ram as well Externxl
Could it also be a corrupted drive?
Chance one is faulty
Yeap
Just trying to figure out where to pit my aio fan
Once I take it out
Lol
Unlikely for unexpected crash. Corrupted drive would result in you being unable to boot since there isnt any OS to boot to.
It just restarts
Randomly
Not nervous it can be anything big
I have warranty on everything so.
Its only 4 months old..
Yea but you can boot back into windows. Meaning the drive cant be couruped, chance a file is but not the drive.
Bad RAM would more likely cause BSOD errors, not forced reboots without an error
Fair, they would cause a blue screen error code.
Its always good to try. Ram is a quick thing to do
It could just be as simple as the restart switch.
Unplug restart switch from mobo if you think that could be a cause
Took 1 stick out
Gonna boot now.
Why doesn't it show anything on my monitor?
Hdmi is plugged into mobo.
And 9900k has integrated
Graphics
@livid idol
It didn't shut down tho..
/restart
Could be the BIOS is expecting a discrete GPU
Probably just took a minute to swap drivers to the Intel chip
Oh ok
Alright.
Into windows.
No gpu.
1 ram stick
Both nzxt and ice have loaded up correctly.
Icue*
Ok I'm in event viewer
What should I look for?
On the left pane, Windows Logs>System
On the right, Filter Current Log
Click Critical and OK
That's all the times that it rebooted unexpectedly
Ok.
My home power.
Is super faulty
Could it have done something?
To my psu?
So now I can factor out the cpu.
Its either the motherboard, or psu.
However, it hasn't restarted yet.
I took oit the restart cable.
Maybe everytimes there is a trip in power from my breaker, it had caused the restart wire to restart my pc??
Probably not that, the restart button doesn't work that way
Nah. Buttons on case have to be pushed for it to work.
But the wire.
If you have bad power coming from the wall I'd advise you to get a UPS to clean up the power
Is connected to the mobo.
Yea, called them
Only other way to make the pins on the motherboard work is to use a screwdriver and bridge the gap
But they are soo slow
UPS = Power Backup esentially. Not the shipping company.
Yea ik xD
I called an electrician
My house is new so.
Idk
Maybe they didn't wire something up right.
Possible, bad grounds are pretty common in new houses, especially if the construction company decided to be cheap
Ahh
True
So if power isn't being gronded
For even half a second
Pc shuts off, and turn back on.
Yep
It can't be gpu right?
Well it can but unlikely if its new
Probably not, you'd get blue screen errors
How bout your outlet
Possible, but not usually the problem
That too. Any system component would give a Blue Screen, power being cut is a lot more likely
Broo
I just went into my basement
And wtf is happening with my breaker
Arc fault lights and flashing left right and center.
I’d put a ups on my pc anyway it gives it nice clean power.
True, system errors in hardware cause blue screens.
Yeah you got some power issues that need to be fixed ASAP it sounds like
Well thats when we say call an electrician.
Fr man
I called the guy last week
Still didn't come ffs
Maybe with my gpu plugged in.
It adds extra load...
I would not start my pc up with that
Because the stupid electrician couldn't wire my house up right.
If you've got a bad ground then something that uses more power will overload the ground and cause it to momentarily shut off
Il just keep my gpu out then.
Tbf pcs are quite low power
You’ve got a bad ground from the sounds of it
With my gpu it adds "too much" load for this stupid electricians wiring.
Likely. Make sure your using a good quality surge protector
Its an aorus 5700xt so
Well as previously mentioned, a UPS will fix your problem with the PC for the time being
Mhm. UPS or good quality Surge Protector to protect the system.
Yea I won’t turn my pc on without a good ups
I have that same board
That might be why.
? a surge protector wouldnt harm anything it would only help
Any small arcs or surges in power.
Might cause the mb to trip..
Because of its surge protection.
A power surge could kill something if it gets past the psu
No. Just use a normal "power strip" with surge protection. Dont worry about whatecer is built into your mobo
So its definitely something to do with power right?
Btw pc still hasn't restarted.
Almost certainly a power problem
Cant read. As long as your using a power strip with surge protection your system cant be harmed, or at least very unlikely.
What I have noticed is that everything my pc shuts off.
Probably not components unless a short caused the PSU to have issues
And restarts
Is that fans ramp up.
And then just shuts off.
So thats means power = heat.
And a surge in power is causing it to trip.
As my motherboard also has built in surge protection.
Thats probably the issue.
My ram slots are in a1 b1 rn
Is that fine?
I just realized that either works..
Or does it?
Mhm. As long as they are one space apart
Yea.
Should I out my gpu back in?
Put(
I mean 9900k is fine for low gaming ig.
But I don't want to risk something worse, not until that electrician fixes my power.
GPU is fine to put in just get a UPS
I dont have one yet.
So for now.
I should keep it out.
I'm looking on Amazon rn
If you want you can put it back and see if it causes shutoffs again, but I'd test power with prime95 first to see if it triggers problems
Yes that's right, it'll push every core in the CPU to 100% to max out the power usage
You clicked this one?
Idk works for me
Ty
Yes
Small FFT stress mode
Yea.
Yes small FFT then OK
Power problem 100% then
Ok
Either with the power supply or your home power
Don't use it until you have a UPS or the wiring is fixed
Every shutoff like that is a chance for damage
If, after the house power problem is fixed, you're still having PC power problems, then yes it's the PSU that got damaged
Just leave it unplugged, you're only risking more damage
Ok..
So don't try and turn it back on?
How about the gpu?
Should I put.it back in or?
You can put that back but leave it off
Anyone has link to alert 30 series discord channels ?
Do you think that the power outages could have caused the osu to be damage
Damaged*
Can't link other discord servers here
Yes that is possible, we won't know until the power gets fixed though
Yeap.
Well if it did.
Still have 9 years and 6 months of warranty lol
Thanks corsair lol
Yeah that would be a warranty claim, they'll cover that in a heartbeat
