Can someone explain to me the whole Chinese tariff 25% increase thing?
Importing parts gets pricey er and harder = companies make price go up. I think...
Lol I should know this, it was all in a tech news video from techlinked I think. Lol one of the linus tech tips branch channels
oh ok thanks
Np, I think it was that a trading contract expired or something
there was a tariff exemption made a while ago for various tech items, one of which was GPUs, and it recently expired.
@tepid zodiac ventus is basically worst card, avoid it
poor power limit, poor cooler, poor PCB, MSI as a company sucks, also bad warranty process
I dont know if there is a single good thing about it other then "it's a 3090"
Oof, ill use that advice thx! Never has an msi gpu. Only gigabyte and now pny. I do have two msi monitors, they are amazing. 240hz, 1ms, no complaints there
I dunno, I rather like my MSI laptop
Warranties from them do usually suck though
msi has some... bad practices lets say
MSI monitors are quite nice for being cheap. Warranty is still, eh. Dislike that you need "x amount of clusters of dead pixels" to return it
MSI laptops are okay. Tho, I havent seen much in terms of them being actually great. Just okay
Yea, I mainly got them for the features and price. I've never heard bad things about msi until now tho. I'm sure there are plenty of bad things about any company lol. Not disagreeing, just stating my knowledge...
Better than my experiences with HP, it hasn't blown up on me yet
but yeah, I do have two UW-QHD MSI monitors for my PC. For the price, very good
Kind of off topic but not, does anyone know if nextwarehouse is legit? Seems they have stock/pre-order ability
HP is garbage for almost all consumer stuff apart from a few things. Tho professional stuff is good for them.
HPE makes me pog out of my mind
everything else HP is literal dog š©
like actually
Only good HP thing I know is 920/950 (SSDs)
Yeah, I know now, but this was like, 7 years ago and back then "I was just in the mindset of eh, it is just a laptop, don' care"
yeah until the hinges fall apart
Appreciate that!
yeah looks like a no go
I cared a year later when the hard drive literally exploded, somehow
It was to good to be true
yeah lol
All companies have their issues. Tho MSI is a bit up there on not being nice. If ya want to see what I mean, look at GN's "MSI killshot" video
Ima need a laptop in a year, and this is off channel topic but... what's a good laptop brand?
for that
lenovo generally has the best super cheap stuff
but eventually if you pay enough, brand is irrelevant
1.5 to 2k price budget
yeah brand doesnt really matter at that point
Makes sense
G14 or G15, whatever it was, good 1.5k laptop
whats up
so my driver crashes are gone
but in modern warfare
i get a directX error
but in other games
i get what i can only guess is a direct3D error
lemme go recreate the error real quick
Alr
another thing i can emulate wii u using vulkan and its runs at full speed most of the time
no problem
openGL kinda worked but didnt have great performance
opengl kinda sucks imo
for emulation that is.
yea i was just using it for comparison
no cemu i was using wii u
ah alright
worked semi-flawlessly no crashes no errors
nice
still waiting for my PC to play PS2 and gamecube games
along with AAA games aswell
yep lol
i tried searching that error on google and got stuff related to image sharpening
for nvidea
I found a 1070 for 200 dollars is that a good idea?
Hmm that is a pretty good deal
ok
I would say go for it.
yea my error seems to be related to direct3D just based on the title of the window
Whats a good graphics card below $400?
with cards going out of stock
prices skyrising
and import tarrifs on GPUs
currently is none to be honest.
plus 3050 and 3060 gonna come soon and they might be a decent choice though
That sounds about right, i would wait
But if u can find a used 1080ti for 400 maybe
I would at least think about it
1080 ti for 400$ is alot tho
Its about where a nice one is now
used market might offer a good option though for cards
ryzen 3 2xxx only goes for 2200g and 2300x
There are a lot of names that line up lol
ye
Rx580 and gtx580 prob my favorite
only the 3rd gen have "x100"
2nd and 1st gen is x200g and x300X
Ok, good to know
So the best thing to do is wait?
is it bad to give in and spend $800 on a 3070 through ebay
yes
yeah
ok so i compiled my list of problems into one long post i put on reddit to get input
here it is for anyone who wants to help
So about a week or 2 ago I got my new Ryzen 5 3400G for my pc and i booted up a fresh copy of windows and installed all the appropriate drivers and my driver host application would at random particularly when playing games would crash and sometimes just shut off completely no error or bsod so at first I thought it was overheating due to the not so good stock cooler but after DDU and rolling back drivers the rebooting stopped but driver crashes continues so after the second and third driver rollback now I'm at this point where drivers don't crash but now in basically every game I get a DirectX or Direct3D error and game crashes so idk what to do or what's wrong
Specs
CPU: Ryzen 5 3400G
RAM: 16gb 3000Mhz Gskill Aegis CL16 2 * 8gb sticks
GPU: Integrated Radeon Vega 11
VRAM: I manually allocated 4gigs of ram for the vega 11 in the bios
PSU: EVGA W1 600W 80+
Cooler: Stock one Thats comes with the 3400G
Problems That i have faced although i will say which ones are solved
AMD Driver Host Application Crashing(Solved)
Random Shutting off (Solved)
DirectX Error While trying to load warzone(Not Solved): Here is the error
"DEV ERROR 6068
DirectX has encountered and unrecoverable error"
Direct3D Error when playing games like GTA V, CSGO, and others(Not Solved): Here is the error
"Failed Initialization. Please Reboot and Restart Game. Try Reinstalling the Game if this Persists"
Very Occasional BSOD With The Error code "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DRIVER"
Been at this for 3 Days now and do not know why all this is happening any input is appreciated
What ive Done so far
DDU and reinstall drivers
Rollback Drivers all the way back to the first driver release for my APU
Allocated 4gigs of VRAM instead of 2 this was to try to fix warzone
Should I just buy a 1080 ti? The way these prices are going up is insane and almost everything is out of stock.
my friends gigabyte rtx 2070 suddenly stopped working one day
the lights stay on but the fans dont spin
power issue?
well cards become more power hungryt the older they get
he should be fine
might just be a connection problem
try removing and re installing it
he did that already
what if that doesnt work
mihght be the motherboard
how
or the cards just defectivbe
his 960 works on it so i dont think its motherboard
just try a bios reset and then if it still doesnt work u can sya the cards broken
he contacted gigabyte
they said he has to mail the entire computer with the gpu isntalled
how
you have to short 2 pins
or remove a battery
every mobo is different
look up how to do it to that model
dude its really simple to just hold a screwdriver to 2 pins for 10 seconds
unplug the PC
thats it
then
look up how to reset bios for tyhat motherboard specifivally
no just leave it plugged in all normal
and unplug the PC
like the main power cabel
thats it
the
turn off power supply
unplug the cord to powersupply?
and then follow the steps to reset bios FOR THAT MOTHERPORD MODEl
thew one that goes from wall the powersupple
is that it
is what it
ok
why is a gtx 1660 super priced at 530$
lol because its out of stock
Like a 980 ti is better and half the price lol
I am trying to decide FE or Asus Tuf for a 3000 series card. What are the main differences?
not much, go compare the two on pcpp
TUF has better cooling and will overclock more
TUF 3070 was the top overclocker over the EVGA
what 3080 would be best if your plan is to custom watercool it?
EK makes blocks for most of them
Pick one that overclocks well, probably EVGA or ASUS tuf
ok I was learning toward ASUS TUF mostly because I have never had a problem with ASUS but I have never owned anything made by EVGA
I hear a lot good about them
EVGA is the nVidia king IMO. Always good cards, after support is fantastic and so is the warranty
But get which you like. EK makes blocks for all of them looks like
Meet the 2nd generation EK-Quantum Vector ā premium, high-performance GPU water blocks, designed exclusively for various GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards.
out of curiosity I saw a 3080 drop on newegg this morning that was by brand MANLI? Has anyone heard of them before?
Never heard of that
I would not if you're planning to waterblock it
Probably void their warranty
EVGA doesn't care
yeah me either, says ships from latvia - I won't buy a brand I don't know, was just curious. It says the card ships from Latvia
Ah, they're a mining card company
Yeah, they specialize in GPU's for mining
If you're going to remove stock cooler and install a waterblock, I know EVGA doesn't care and will still warranty it. I'm not sure about the others
kind of funny their website takes like 40 seconds to load and the first thing you see is "This is what performance looks like"
I liked the ASUS because they used 6 of the good caps compared to others using 1 or 2
The cap debacle really wasn't a big issue once more info came out
not sure if that still matters or not - not like I am having any luck getting a card regardless
Yeah, it's rough right now
Newegg monday-thursday 7:30 PM EST
Best Buy the 19th, another big drop
that's what I hear
appreciate the info.
.
why do different variants of graphics cards have drastically different prices?
one model of the 3060 $399 and another is $530
Because people will pay for a little extra clock instead of doing it themselves
Probably because of import taxes
FE is exempt I believe because made in Tawain
WHile others are made in China and subject to higher Tariffs
anyone know if theres a water block for a 3070
i cant find one
only for 3080s and 3090s but i dont want to spend that much
YW
Hey @tender mulch
?
So because most of my problems are graphics related if I got say a rx580 down the line would that solve most of my problems if the rx580 works properly
Drivers were mostly fixed
Is this the iGPU that crashes in warzone?
Ah
Or a new one that popped up in battlefield 3 also related to direct X
I mean, it seems like a software issue to me
Some installation got messed up somewhere or something is causing issues.
Today Iāll run dxdiag and look through that
Probs won't find anything but hard to say. If it were me, I'd DDU everything and start over again. Uninstall any kind of "graphics booster" software and check the AMD Catalyst center for any kind of "game" or GPU "enhancement".
Actually
Just uninstall the Catalyst center and leave the driver
There is no catalyst itās just the Radeon software or āAdrenalinā which is installed along with the driver
Ok
Ok software is uninstalled
Restarting
Ok lemme try modern warfare then Iāll try GTA v
Modern warfare wigged put it didnt crash per say
Just became clear and I couldnāt tab out of it
Gonna try GTA v
Hey so you know how I manually allocated 4gigs of vram for modern warfare
Ye?
GTA only shows 2gigs or vram
Probably all it's using
Weird
^ what does the in game settings say?
its only showning it can use 2gigs of vram when i allocated in the bios 4 gigs
rx 580 will be bottlenecked tho by your...2200g? 3200g?
3400G
the 3400G would bottleneck the rx580?
ye but that wouldn't be a big issue lol
i was just hoping that maybe if i just sucked it up and got a dGPU my problems would mostly go away
you can awlays cranck up the graphics
They probably will go away
k
if you find a 580 for a good price tho
also gtav crashed with same direct3D error as before
like a used 580 for 80-110
should be worth
i remember when i was originally looking at buying a pc and i made one on pcpartpicker for $700 and i found a XFX RX 580 for like $200 but if they are costing closer to $100 now getting a GPU would definitly be viable
thats what i was about to ask
you might find a decent deal for a used 570/580 however
any particular site i should use
ebay, facebook marketplace
make sure to avoid the Rx 570 and 580 armor though
most of them are MK1 and armor mk1 have a bad VRM cooling
bruh right as you said that i scrollled over this listing

yep
also ye, thats a bid tho
Highly doubt you'll find a reasonably priced Buy It Now
what about this one
generally sapphire nitro and red devil are the best for 5xx
also ye...is there any reviews?
not that i can see
is the seller atleast have some rep? i wouldn't trust it if the seller doesn't have reviews or don't accept returns
where would i see "rep"
is it on ebay?
yes
well he has no feedback ratings at all
and the graphics card is the first item hes sold on ebay
found another one from what i can tell has alot of "rep"
name is interesting though
seems to have alot of rep
yo i think i might need some help, i need a new video card and i think my eyes are set on an msi 1050ti 4gb, but i wanna see what yall think, considering i havent looked into hardware in about 4/5 years. im running an i5-4690k with 24gb ddr3 ram, the motherboard is an asrock z97 anniversary edition, n i have a evga gtx 960 ssc 2gb
Well, bad news
what is it
The 960 is faster than the 1050TI
yeah but my problem is that i dont have enough vram
thats the only thing im looking at lmao
mm
make the upgrade worth your while
how much do those go for usually
Right now? Silly money
Like, hundreds over MSRP
oh ic
new or used
Im trying to buy a 1070 founders for 200 rn
oh damn
Yeah, this is a bad time to be GPU shopping
yeah i checked offerup
true
yeah for sure
I'd honestly wait until after next week when new products are announced
oh wait hold on
Might be some juicy $200-$300 new cards announced
At CES
i still run win7
I was originally going for a 1650 super then they disappeared ā ļø
lol windows 7
yeah
damn
i mean i still get driver updates for my card
i just wouldnt be able to utilize the dx12 on the card
sick
you can upgrade to win 10 for free
well thats ur choice
yee
idk i just would rather not have spyware disguised as an os
even tho thats pretty like
dumb
i still have it
I mean, it's no more spyware than Windows 7 was
i mean
š¤·
win7 never forced edge on your taskbar if you made any changes to windows
I don't have Edge forced on my task bar......
Reason: Bad word usage
oops
lul
i have win10 on my laptop and that happens to me alot
Like, I removed the icon ages ago and it's perm gone
idk edge cant be uninstalled on my laptop
id rather not have my desktop be the same
thats jus me tho
why not use linux?
proton and wine can get you through most apps
i mean not a bunch
but
its literally just laziness
and the fact that most programs arent compatible with linux
atleast the things i use
so id just have to use a vm which isnt rlly a big deal, but im also too lazy to make a reliable setup to do all that with
like gaming, music, all that jazz
like i might someday, but for now im comfy where im at
on ubuntu appstore ther is a app that allows you to instantly have a windows 10 kvm no setup
just works
huh
worked just fine
although
you wont get much performance which is what proton is for gaming
right
unless you go edit the kvm specs your self
which is a little hassle
but for music and some other stuff its not a problem
for sure
again, im mainly just lazy
and honestly like im not too much of a software person, and setting up linux to do all the things i'd want it to do seems rlly time consuming, n i have little to no experience with linux so
neither do i i got most of my experience because i got a raspberry Pi
i wonder
if i just straight ddu and dont install anything amd
besides the motherboard chipset driver
what would happen
im gonna try that
ok i can offically say its not the display driver causing the errors
hmm i wonder why
HMMMM
welp here we go again toodles guys
bye lol good luck
now im back and waiting for msi afterburner to start
AH SHI!! IT WORKS
IM IMPRESSED
AND PROUD OF MYSELF
'
:)))
YES
anyone able to help me find a 3070 in stock. I have money but this is a joke. ive been trying to get it since release
There aren't any right now
have fun with that, that aint gonna happen
Best bets
Best Buy 19th, 9AM -12PM EST
Newegg restock
Monday -Thursday 7:30 PM EST
the 4000 series will be out before anyone even gets to touch a 3000
yeah nevermind it aint gonna happen. forgot nvida sold to bitcoin miners PogU
I got mine Tuesday from BB
It can be done
No bot, be ready on the 19th at about 11 AM EST. They stockpile and do huge drops
thanks for the info
wait what price does bestbuy sell 3000's for?
just straight MSRP with absolutly no markup?
I got mine before the Tariff took effect
The reason prices went up is due to the Import Tariff exemption expiring
Taxes went up
Therefor, manufacturers raise MSRP
They ain't gonna pay the higher tax, we are
Some, like the FE cards, are made in Taiwan, so not subject to the tax
Tried all the ports?
was it under load?
forums
Is it EVGA brand?
i dont think so
3 year warranty
its gigabyte
3 year warranty
I would RMA if it died
It shouldn't die just because it was left on overnight though
My PC is 24/7/365 and just fine
i treat all my cards like mining cards so there under 100% load like 95% of the time
Alright boys, so Best Buy on the 12th?
Oh even better, more time to save up
Best buy drop on 19th you say?
Ye
Dropping this one, prices are inflated direct from Amazon, but looks like you can place a pre-order
not really inflated, tariffs have taken their hold.
Therefor MSRP's have gone up
By up to 25%
š¦
Ouch!! I just saw the post you shared. Good to know it's not a scalper price. I can at least justify the cost going to manufactures
Yep
All the MSRPs went up except Founders I think
Founders are made in Taiwan and I presume exempt
It's madness! Comes at like the worst possible time for most people
hey whats best bang for buck used graphics cards that wont be bottlenekced by my ryzen 5 3400G right now so far the ones in my budget of max $275 are: RX580, RX570,RX 5500XT, GTX 1050TI, GTX 1060 6GB, and GTX 1650/1650 SUPER
Blower fan is oof tho
was the best buy pickup location not available a bug on the rtx 3060
ti launch day?
and would i be able to buy a 3060 ti fe the next drop if i got that message on launch day
Don't wait for a message
Just be there for the drop with F5 handy and click through locations fast
And one you click Add to Cart and it changes to please wait, DON'T REFRESH. Just wait
Oh I didnāt know you werenāt supposed to refresh dang
I probably would of gotten one then
idk go with the gtx 1650 super if you can, even if there is bottleneck you can always upgrade your cpu down the road. for future if you're going to go with discrete graphics dont purchase G processors grab a budget ryzen 3 3100 prob best bang for buck
wouldnt trust pick up just get it delivered free shipping anyways and at least then you know the gpu has been set aside for you
You want a gig of ddr ram? I've got some kicking around
rx 580/570 are excelent cards if you find it around 100$ or less
5500xt and 1650 super are ok cards but their price is kinda eh...
though they do have better power cosumption and they are new aswell.
do not buy a 1050 ti/1650
1060 6gb is also great card but only worth if you find for a good price
also 1660/1660 super is also a option for you budget(if you find it for 200-250$
you also have a option to wait till the 3050 release aswell or wait till the gpu market is stable
nice.
wheres the damn GPUs š”
Thanks to tariffs and scalpers that's pretty much how the market is rn
its ridiculous, ive been trying to get a 3080 for under 900 for almost 2 months, checking every day
I feel you man
i got an RX 5600 XT before the market went crazy
then i realized i had a 6GB card
Lucky we got a 3060ti for 500 with tax. Kinda glad. The stock just went up and got my hands on one. Still up there but I mean I guess if I pay for the msi one thats what im getting. They had the other one for 400 but I rather spend the extra 100 just for the cooling
Would anyone be able to tell me if my 750W PSU is handling the rtx 3070? - trying to figure out why game crashes and restarts pc
what CPU do you have @onyx drum ?
5600x @buoyant wigeon
im planning on getting a 3070 with a 750 psu too
so i would like to know aswell
cpu i got is 3700x
vintage said power wise I'm fine
corsair rmx 750
which 3070 is it @onyx drum
is what i want to buy
I reinstalled windows last night, currently running haven to see if I'll crash
asus tuf gaming OC @buoyant wigeon
750w evga gold g3 80+
don't buy something made by a company that doesn't do PSU's @hearty adder I recommend EVGA just because I have been rocking PSU's from them for awhile
@buoyant wigeon then any recommendations? on ones that will be good with a 3070 and a ryzen 7 3700x?
ik cpu aint that good for the 3070 but still
thats my build
i'm not sure if the 3070 drivers are still buggy, if it is you might even want to hold off on it
because it's annoying crashing in games (that's why I'm here)
fair enough XD
cause my new build is coming together
and
i want a gpu but cant find a gpu that has a fair price
better than 1060
so @onyx drum when looking at it I think it might be either a driver instability or another issue unrelated to the PSU because PCpartpicker says those two parts minus anything else take 285W or something
@hearty adder your power supply should handle it like a champ, just watch out for if it is in eco mode as that has caused issues for me in the past
TOB is good, GPU-z reports no voltage sag or other issues
Heaven completes with no crashes, game time now
which one the corsair?
your EVGA one
is there an evga gold certified that has a range price of 100-130?
:monkaHmm:
im very conflicted rn XD @buoyant wigeon says evga and @tender mulch says corsair
well
Reason: Bad word usage
You have the RMX yeah?
nope
It also depends on the EVGA model
EVGA is also up there of course depending on the generation and efficiency rating
currently running haven about 10 minutes in, I'll report back with results later
efficiency rating is not an indicator of quality
over longer gaming sessions it has been a make or break for me in the past but it doesn't help I was using some old Antec PSU before my now EVGA one
Maybe decide after my crashing results if youāre debating on the 3070
No tob its about the psu itself
Corsair RMx, Phanteks AMP, Seasonic Focus Gold. Any of those three
@tender mulch well aight thx š ill order it pretty soon
Ill get the
Rmx 750
Full modular
honestly what I would say @onyx drum is if you crash out again check your drivers, I like to just reinstall them when they cause instability issues either using DDU and cleaning the slate or just going through NVIDIA geForce experience
i found a supplier on ebay selling gpus for msrp https://www.ebay.com/itm/3060ti-3070-3080-3090-Nvidia-GPU-30-Series-CPU-AMD/254831080862?hash=item3b551db59e:g:xSwAAOSwT0Vf-OqC
š¤ kinda looks sketch NGL
well on ebay he said u could video call and he will show u the cards
and i think it has that ebay return
That's also not MSRP/. $850 for the 3070 Ventus?
tariff
Didn't go up that much
oh i meant the 3080
yeah no if the MSRP of the 3060 or 3070 went that high I would actually cry
@buoyant wigeon I tried using DDU and reinstalling windows through recovery (didn't use usb method)
Wait, you blew up your windows install?
no I purposely reinstalled windows hoping a clean slate would help
newegg has a 2060 going for like 440 rn
oof
how long does it usually take for gpus to come back
i ideally want a 3060ti the gpus the last thing i need for my buid
a couple years
I see 3060s a lot on amazon @lone pond
yeah but theyre like 800 bucks
How can I buy the rtx 3060 tomorrow in newegg? I know from the 3080 launch it's not available in the search on launch
Have to be patient
Cards aren't guaranteed to restock
but 7:30 PM EST is the rough restock time
evga is good
yeah u pay for warranty
EVGA doesn't care if you overclock nor install a waterblock
Wanna mod your card? They literally don't care
yep
900
do any of you have pics of their 3070 FE with awaterblock?
I got my 3070 for 675 š
How bad of a performance deficit will I experience if I slot my gpu in the bottom PCIe slot
Ok cool thank you
It bad if my gpu idling at 49-50 deg?
Well
fans dont kick in until 51deg so its always sitting right below it
It's fine
That's normal on some cards
if i turn them on then it goes straight down to 41
but idk, should I change fan curve or something
nah, should be just fine
kk thanks
Waiting for mine to be ready for pickup
How much was yours?
Nicee
what your spec @tender mulch
3700x/3070
noice
yay
hopefully nvidia pulls through and drops the 3060 for purchase tomorrow
on bestbuy ?
Best buy is the 19th
newegg drops every night
Though not everything and not a lot
Ive been left on delivered about the 1070s ā ļø
i'm talking about the presentation at CES
so they are re stocking the 3060 ti tonight ?
Possibly
No way to tell for sure but keep an eye on Twitter
They usually announce there
with the price hikes i might have to go with the base rumored 3060 or a used 2070 super
I have a 5700 XT, think I'll wait a year before upgrading again, see if the prices stabilize back to how they're supposed to be
With the import tax increase, the new prices are here to stay for a long while
right now even low end cards are hard to find a good deal on
so it kinda depends what you can get them for
161.99 dollars for a 1650
what a time to be alive
gtx 1650 launched about 2.5 years ago for 150
1.5 years ago for gddr6 version
Yep
I'm lucky I got my 2070 super for 360 from evga b stock, presumably before everyone knew just how bad gpu supply would be
ow
lucky
i'm just hoping i can find a good deal on a 2060 super
is that rumor about the 3060ti restock tonight true?
Reason: Bad word usage
the website?
lol yea i went to the site so fast
i just don't wanna have my 1660 super anymore
anyone know good graphics card under 200
i don't think any are under 200 at the moment thanks to scalpers
i mean, i'm still running a 1060 ...
yikes
yeah was looking to upgrade but with the supply problems.....
yeah
used 580/1650/1650S
i'd say your best bet is 1650S
^ in terms of finding one, yes
if it's 9th gen, 9400 it's one, if it's 5th gen 5400, that's entirely a different beast
No its a 9th gen 5400
that doesn't exist..
^
the generation is the first number of the model
let me check the box
except for 10th, that's the first 2 numbers
lol
core i5 9th gen 9400 LGA1151
Ahh then prolly 2060 or beter
to answer your gpu question probably a 1660 super or better
its a 9th gen
well it can handle up to a 2060S
Ih alright I will check
Yep. To keep from being gpu bound i'd go 2060 but price wise, 1660
So a rtx 2060 will handle it but what model?
?
The price I'm not worried. Its my pc blowing up
lol what
*price
@fallen gull @karmic crag thank you.
just get a couple of some good fans or even better, water cooling
Then go 3090 :P
i think i will get the 1650 Super
ye
I have 6 fans
water cooling for a 9400
@fallen gull
so the only thing I need is a water cooler?
i mean true
no you don't @lone pond
Oh ok
you're good with air cooling only
mine runs fine with the stock cooler
Alright
Airgato
So I just need any 2060 model so it doesn't need to be a nidea
*nvidea
nvidia is the only company that makes the 2060 lol
well i mean theres other brands that use the chip
it has no effect on performance
check the used market. it's probably scarce but better than paying $500 new
no prob š
damn i didn't think of that
used market?
heck no
for a card that launched for around 400
Fr
idk dude, i'm looking too
So I will find the best gpu I can find on amazon
I can help you out
i think i found a well priced one
there is a 5500xt on amazon for 230 i belive
what is that?
i'll send it in dms
it might be out of stock, when i checked it was only 3 left
oh a ryzen gpu?
AMD radeon 5500xt yeah
To what nvidea gpu is that compared to?
its good bang for the buck, its around the same as a 1060 6gb
well your best bet is to get to microcenter really early when they recieve shipments
i'm gonna go back to looking and see if i can find a good one for you
for a 2060?
oh thank you but you go find a gpu for you mate
we'll see, worst case scenario you get a little bit of a worse gpu
i think they are going to stop selling them soon (thats what the associate told me) but they might have 3060ti's or 5700xt's
(5700xt is similar to 2060 super or 2070
3060 will kill my computer
found the 2060 for 300
where?
ISC storefront
Is that safe?
never heard of it but ill check
I only trust ebay and jeff bezos
im trying to find a used card since prices are so inflated right now, and all i see are 580's, what is their obsession
you could wait until prices flatten out and get a 3060ti or if the leaks are true, a 3050 wich could replace the 2060 (i heard this from the microcenter employee dont quote me)
yeah i think i'm gonna wait for a better price
offerup and fb mrktplace are probably your best bet for used gpus
as for you @lone pond, try to find a good deal on a 1660 super
which employee said that?
lemmie find my boxes holdon
this guy named stephen fraser
hmm
its the duluth location
they said that the 3050 could replace the 2060?
he said it with skeptiscism, but yeah
possibly
they have one tomorrow???
i havent heard a single word about it
16 hours
yes, tomorrow at ces, they're rumored to drop some cards
it's almost certain that they'll reveal some gpus, but no one is sure which ones
there's a countdown on their site i think
i've heard 3080ti, 3080 super, 3070 ti, 3060 ultra, 3050, 3060, etc
im hoping for a regular 3060,
same here
and maybe that could saturate the market enough that cards maybe could become aviable
So as it stands right now is it going to be better and still try and snag a card on a drop or by from like Facebook marketplace?
i bet it'll be the ultra
I will try to find a 1660
@shy forge you already have a 2060 super
but how am I going to play my fortnite?
as of today, second hand is better, but if you want new parts then try and go to a brick and mortar store super early
mans lucky, i got a hd 5450 because microcenter was absolutely sold out
not just a normal 1660, try to find the "super" variant
@karmic crag i know I have a 2060 super but I'm about to sell my pc and rebuild as it is a few years old
it's better
i'm using an igpu trying to get a 3060 ti
meanwhile there are people trying to upgrade their 2080tis to 3080s š
same, im hoping the regular 3060 or 3060 super is around 350
dude, i just wanna play modded beat saber smoothly
@karmic crag when you try and play a fps competitively you need to push the fps
the 20 series cards are still good
Yes its still a great card I just want to upgrade it
a 2080ti will probably engine cap the game like CSGO, besides, what commercial monitors offer 350+ fps
up until a month ago i thought 240 hz was the limit but i guess not?
same, i think somewhere in some engineering lab there are higher hz models
CSGO wont engine cap at 240hz
and 360hz monitors are the current highest refresh monitors
i was mistaken, left 4 dead 2 is capped at 300, but a quick google search says that csgo is uncapped
its just a slightly better card
And no
no, it'll just be a gpu bottleneck
what watt powersupply you have
720 watts?
yes
you will be fine
it'll be bottlenecked
anything above a 2600 should handle it
what cpu do you have?
he said i5 9400
Core i5 9th gen 9400
i assume its the 9400f
hmm
I'm saving up for a core i7
how much for the core i7?
500
Core i5 9th 9400 with a gpu 2060
Pc
Gaming, editing, 3d modeling, etc
Yes
its a hexa core cpu similar to the 3600, and a quick google search suggests a less than 7% bottleneck
besides, you are going to have to reach bottom of the barrel cpus to actually bottleneck something
i have a feeling never is trolling
No I dont
could be a kid prolly 10-12 years old wanting to know more about computers
I don't have a hexa cpu
9400 has 6 cores which means hexa, therefore hexa core
it just means the number of cores
maybe, but being able to create normal sentences but then saying yes to a question with given answers...
nvm
yeah, get a 3700x, i got mine on sale at microcenter for 300$ if you plan on doing anything other than gaming
amd?
microcenter also has frequent sales on i9's, i7',s and and such
you probably have a LGA (intel) motherboard so id say stick with intel for now
what motherboard do you have?
Asus prime
what type
yeah, z490, z390, etc
the white and black one with a rgb vrm cover?
i would probably dont go higher than a i-7
and thats pushing it
it would work but the vrms would be stressed af
i'm running a 10400 + b460m-a and it's solid
you could possibly do it, if you dont overclock
it limits my ram to 2666 mhz but that's fine
https://youtu.be/6bI5IDAc8TY this guy is running a similar rig with a i-7
Processor = Intel Core i7-10700 Desktop Processor 8 Cores up to 4.8 GHz LGA 1200 (Intel 400 Series Chipset) 65W, BX8070110700

and it seems to work fine
i7 with a 1650 super
but i would still say upgrade to maybe a aorus z390 aorus pro, its under 200$ and should handle a i7 good and even a i9
pc parts advance fast, the i5 is not a bad pick tho
